We've went through our SEC contenders and we apologize for everybody that wasn't on the list. But now we're going to get to the others and some of them are going to spoil and some of them are going to be. But we are taking into account all off season, all off season changes, right? So how about, you know, you got the cyclospora cysts. I think I might have got that right breakout thingy. Basically the lettuce diarrhea thingy. So the state of Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina are good to go. So maybe we need to bump them up. You know, maybe all those teams, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama and the Gamecocks, they get, they're more hydrated. They got, they got a leg up on the competition. But welcome into C ball. Get ball. Like I said, we've been going through those contenders. Do the like rate, subscribe thing please, wherever you get your podcasts and all that stuff. Notre Dame fans, good, good thing for you. We'll talk about that right now. Then we'll talk about some SEC grit, talk about college football shockers, podium king or some podium kings at the end. And then you see the subscribe there too. We're going to tell you that. And at the end. But Notre Dame fans, head coach Marcus Freeman says I can't imagine going anywhere else. This is the same guy that talked to the Cardinals in the off season. Just going to throw that out there. Like part of this business is always that. But I don't see Marcus Freeman going anywhere else either. And Marcus Freeman is a, like I, you know, it's funny, I Read all of these things about like Notre Dame and all the past history and all the things that they haven't done. And there was some stat since 1990, like nobody's been worse in the playoffs and in those, those big game moments than Notre Dame. I get it. But it's not Marcus Freeman's fault. And I do feel like Marcus Freeman has this turned in the right direction and this is a huge year. Two years ago they were in the national championship picture. Last year, barely missed the playoff. Miami showed you they got in easily. Notre Dame could have easily got in and done something similar, possibly like they were definitely going this direction. So good to have their coach talking about all of these things. And we'll do a deep dive into Notre Dame next week, but we're going to get to the rest of the sec. Okay. So we're going to cover all these teams. So Vanderbilt, what to like most about Vanderbilt this season. The most important thing that happened to the Vanderbilt Commodores is Clark Lee is still there 100%. Like when you watched Pavia and company go do their thing. When you watch the GM, you watch, you watch Nashville become a better atmosphere and everybody start to buy in. It's because of Clark Lee. When you listen to him talk, he's got a cool, really cool, calm demeanor. But his words Pierce and they matter. They're really, really cool. But they won 10 games for the first time in program history, they beat four ranked SEC teams during the regular season. Clark Lee was mentioned with, with Florida. Clark Lee was mentioned with Auburn. He's at Vanderbilt. Like that is huge. That's what to like most about Vanderbilt. And when you look at their roster, 31st, 34th most experienced roster in the country coming back, number four most experienced defense in the country, number two in game experience in the country and number 12 in returning starts. And that's why in his own words, Clark Lee said in terms of depth, this is the deepest team we've had. And because they've been building this, you saw that last year with them defensively, playing so many guys offensively, you started to see more playmakers arise. You know what happened too in the off season for, for Vanderbilt, you know what you need to know what you really like. Jared Curtis happened, a five star quarterback, one of the best in the country. The number one pocket passer in 2026. He flips from Georgia late in the process to go to Vanderbilt. When have we ever said that in a million years in college football we've never said that. Like never said that. Now he's Fighting with Blaze to see who will be the starting quarterback. But and that's, that's to me curtails right into the next part is who's. What's the biggest question mark? And that's how do you place replace Diego Pavia and four starting offensive linemen that were pretty mean and pretty nasty and you had the mean, you had the nasty. What I loved about them up front but it's Pavia finished second in the Heisman, remember like I know he went on a temper tantrum after that but aside from that he finished second and he played obviously and had 27 passing touchdowns. He had almost a thousand rushing with almost 10 more scores on the ground. Like he was their quarterback, their leading rusher, their leader, their identity. But he also had that Boulder sized chip on his fricking shoulder. Like the dude would run through you, run around you, he would block you, he would do everything. So that edge mentally like that is the biggest question mark for me. Does that continue? Because that was a Pavia special. That was a guy that was counted out his whole life, doubted his whole life undersized, shouldn't have been here and came in and absolutely kicked ace and took names. So it's, it's replacing that, it's how do they get that? Can they rebuild? Can it be a reload? But when I look at this, you know if this is a successful season for me with Vanderbilt, I think it's seven wins in another bowl game. Like it's proven that Vandy doesn't fall off a cliff. Eight wins, eight wins. Shows like this is becoming something sustainable. Right like this is the Vanderbilt fans would have a reason to believe and I think you should with what you have with your coaching staff. But this is interesting to watch the quarterback battle. Interested to watch Vanderbilt period. But, but Vanderbilt has a lot to be proud of and they have it going in the right direction now the question is can they replace what was their team, what was their identity, what was their mojo? And Brent like Brent Rollins obviously always joins us. You know just talking about replacing that is easier said than done man.

It's one where with okay let's since with Curtis let me give you some numbers with that 61% completion, 2600 yards, 14 touchdowns, 10 interceptions. Would you be happy with those numbers if within with him as a true freshman?

So here's the reason I picked those numbers specifically. It's the average of Matt Stafford's sophomore year at Georgia because number one recorderback recruit gunslinger. It's a little bit different game. You Know you.

Like, totally different game. So that's why I use the sophomore year. Yeah, but it's also in. There's Dylan Raiola's freshman year two years ago and then Bryce Underwood's freshman year last year. So that's. Of those three guys, like big time recruits started as true freshmen. That was their average in terms of traditional.

I don't think, I don't think Curtis will start. I don't think Curtis will start at quarterback this year. Not to start at all. For sure. Not to start.

I just, I know a little bit, I know a little, I have a little backdrop and I know a little bit about this dude whose name is Blaze Berlowitz. Like, you don't know his name yet, but let me tell you something, he's made of all the right stuff. Like this dude's got a heartbeat about him, a pulse about him. And listen, Curtis, I think has some of that too. When you watch Jared Curtis, like, you never question his love for the game or his heart. He, he'll run through, he ran through people in high school last year. And you're like, oh, I wouldn't do that. Like you don't need to do, run out of bounds, step out of bounds. Same thing Pavia did. But, but, but I do think Blaze bb, BB I think Blaze has some good to him. And, and, and here's the thing about Vanderbilt that we didn't mention. This system is really good and it's looked really differently in the last year when it started to evolve around Pavia, when he started to become more. I have full confidence that Tim Beck can take this system and evolve it around whoever it is. There's just so much newness that they're going to have to kind of bring it together and really find that identity, you know, quickly in a tough conference. But, but I mentioned these again, it's the edge.

Yeah, you mentioned the success, successful season, winning, having a winning season and getting to a bowl. Do you realize they haven't had three consecutive winning seasons since the late 1950s? And that's what they would be in line for if they have a winning season again this year. I do think one very important point about the sec, because we talked about the seven sort of what we think are the contenders. And last year Vanderbilt was one of those, they were one of the top seven teams. And if you look at that last year, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, A and M, Texas, Oklahoma, that we've already talked about, and then Vanderbilt last year, those seven teams, there was only one game where they didn't beat each other. When Florida beat Texas, that was the only loss out of those seven teams where they didn't necessarily beat each other. So all these teams, the rest of these teams that we're talking about tonight to me are the absolute key to the SEC in the College Football Playoff because of the extra game. And does somebody now with new coaches at Florida and Auburn, Tennessee having, you know, potentially a different animal defensively, being better defensively. South Carolina renewed like do these teams clip one of the top. That didn't happen a year ago. And that change whether you get three, four, however many playoff teams you get because you got five a year ago. So that's what all this stuff matters big time to me. Missouri like the most I think they have if the one of the top two or three left tackles in all the sport in Kaden Green. You said you talked about Clark Lee with Vanderbilt. It's the same with Eli Drinkwich. The, the consistency, the foundation, the hey we are going to be good at least solid, above average year after year after year. And if they take the next step there, linebacker play with Rodriguez and Wood, your transfer transferring from Auburn, I think that's good. We. You talked about if Hardy is healthy and you get that version of him, one of the best running back, if not the best running back combination in college football with him and Roberts. But big question. I love Austin Simmons talent. It might he in terms of just raw size, arm strength, ability to throw the football. He might have as much talent as anybody in the sport. But how, but how he actually plays has not necessarily been consistent in the little bit that we saw him. And then his job got taken a year ago by Trinidad. So that's the big question for me with Missouri because they've proven they can beat who they should beat. Now you gotta do that plus maybe beat somebody else in a way. And that's. And that's why a successful season for me with them is one. You beat Kansas because Drink was talking smack about Kansas recently. I think I heard him maybe even at media days.

And get over 500. And that's going to be a theme I think with all these teams in terms of success for this season. If you're over 500 in the conference, you're five and four in the conference you're at least eight and four.

When you got the, when you got the nine game conference. But here's the thing. When you, when you talk about eli Drinkowitz last three seasons, 29 wins. The average SP plus ranking which is, which is done. Which is really good by the way. I think everybody actually probably would like that and enjoy that. Like that's better than lsu, Oklahoma, Auburn and Florida in that time. Like Drinkowitz knows how to develop players. He's smart with the portal. It's not about blue trip recruiting. But then here's the thing, here's the thing about Missouri. They have an identity every year. You know exactly who they are. So the strength of them is their, their run game. Ahmad Hardy was, was born to break tackles. He was born to run the football

zone scheme and then Jamal Roberts obviously adds the one two punch like you talked about. But here's another thing too. The defensive front and LBs have been elite for years and it's new cast of characters they add but they're always fricking good. They're always good. So I know I'm going to hang my hat on all these things. So to me the offensive line experience like you just talked about, obviously having a stud but they have experience all that front. So I don't question all that. So what do I question? And if I'm a Missouri fan, what have I been questioning about this offense? The passing game like last year, all of it. 15th in the SEC in passing yards per game, completion percentage, middle of the pack. The volume wasn't even that high but bottom third in passing Y like you're talking about when you were in the hundreds, like in the hundred area, you felt pretty decent. You get to the high hundreds, you're happy. By the way, that wasn't just last year. Two years ago with Brady Cook it was the same thing last year it was Prabula and Zollers. Like that's why Eli Drinkowicz made a big change and that's why he brought in Chip Lindsay and that's why he brought in, you know, listen, Kirby Moore had been there for a while. He left. He went to Washington State. By the way, when you leave an SEC school to go to Washington State, you were told to go away. That wasn't a. That's how you do it. But that's okay. Like but.

You did that for a reason. Now you add Garrett Riley, who was at Clemson, a former OC Again, I don't think Garrett Riley is going to be calling plays. But you know what I like, man? I like when you have multiple minds who see different things, can help you out, can make that room better. The passing game has to get better. It's been the weakness of this offense. They know who they are, they know how to run it. You, they led the in rushing, and then you're still that bad in throwing. Like, that's hard to do because the one helps the other so much, right? So to me, it's all about Missouri. Like, it's all about the passing game. But you got to feel good about who you are. And here's the thing, they average about 10 wins a year. Like, that's what they've averaged. So are they in that average? Are they below that average? That's the standard to me for. For Missouri football. All right, Tennessee. Tennessee, I want you to listen up, brother. I want you to listen. Get. Get in here and listen up to what I have to say. Because here's. Here's the thing, Josh. Hypo. The offense, like, what do I like most about Tennessee? The offense. Because you know why? Because I have hypo. I got an elite quarter. I get elite quarterback play. I get elite rushing numbers. I have an identity of who I am. I know I'm going to be a pain in people's backsides. Like, you want some proof? You want some stats? I'm going to stat you. 39 points per game, almost his tenure at Tennessee, almost 40 points per game, almost two touchdowns higher than it was the 10 years before where their team is finished in rushing. How about this? In his. In his time, you think about hypo, you think about throwing, you think about all this stuff. And I know the system and X, Y and Z. In his five years in Knoxville, first year they finished seventh in the SEC in rushing. Second year, fourth, third year.

Second year, third or next year? Third. So the last three years they've been third in the SEC in rushing. They know how to run the football. How about the touchdown to interception ratio? 31 and 3, 27 and 2. Joe Milton was 20 and 5. Like Nico, first year as a starter, 19 and 50. Joey Aguilar, 24:10. Man, like, you know what's really, really good? It's Josh Hyp. Like his offense is good. The difference in last year in Tennessee not going to the playoff was very simple. The defense took like 75 steps backwards. They were absolutely lost. They had some injuries, obviously, which, which played a big role in that. But you go from the 2024 campaign where they finished third in the SEC, seventh nationally in scoring defense at 16 points per game. That's what they were. And then to go to last year and to be absolutely atrocious. How bad were they? They were 28 points a game. Like they were 373 yards a game, which was 15th in the SEC, 85th nationally. Like, they didn't take a step back. They fell. They fell off a cliff. Like total defense, scoring defense, all of it. So what do you do about it? You bring in Jim Knowles, a proven DC who won a national championship with Ohio State a couple years ago. He, he was with Penn State. Brings a new scheme. They needed a new scheme, obviously, like the, the cliff that they fell off of. And what happened? They brought in a bunch of guys in the portal that you. That, that, that his. Their coach is very familiar with. Coach Knowles is familiar with. They brought in a bunch of guys with a bunch of experience. Hobbs on the D line, Carter at linebacker, Metcalf. I mean, Lee, like, there's a bunch of guys. What if the defense for Tennessee gets 25% better? What if it gets 50% better? Like Tennessee is a team that's going to score. They're going to be a pain in your backside. Then they're looking at going to the playoffs, man. Like, they're right on the bubble of going to the playoffs like that. That if I'm a Tennessee fan, like, that's what I should be excited about, about what I've been. So, to me, a successful season is you're going to win eight or nine games and you're going to be flirting with, get into the playoffs like Tennessee. That's. That's what I've seen. That's what I'm. That's what I believe.

Because think about if you go ahead and are able to like, I'm assuming they're going to play the freshman at quarterback, the Brandon kid, that's. That was the big recruit. Because when in doubt, if it's a coin flip, just go with the more talented kid.

Yes. But if they get that win at Georgia Tech in week two and they're sitting three and O host in Texas, hey, that's a lot of. That's fun football. That's. That's where you want to be because now Texas has got to go on the road and something they didn't do very well last year. All right, the Wildcats, Kentucky right behind me. Yes, here.

The only thing I like the most about Kentucky right now is Will Stein. Because outside of that, every. They've got a lot of transfer guys, they've got a lot of guys that have played that or have you played at power conference teams, but in terms of played well and. Or been difference makers, not necessarily there. And you think about the Stoops era, this is one that's hard for me. Like, I don't, I don't know how I feel about Kentucky. Just when you really look at the team and what they can be, because it's all about establishing the identity with Stein. But if you look back to the Stoops era, he actually only had a winning record in SEC play, in conference play twice in all those years. And that was the one year with Will Levis and then the other year when they had Lynn Bowden.

And how many, how many years of those years did he have more talent than the teams he was playing against?

I mean, rare, okay, but like very good. Always tough, always tough to play. But in terms of like what they are and what they could can be like, that's what this is all about is all right, your identity. Can you beat somebody that you're not supposed to be. Don't get. Because like at the end of the last year, like Louisville absolutely just dump trucked him and some other games.

It wasn't even competitive.

It wasn't competitive. Like, wasn't pretty. Now they were competitive against Texas and you had one night getting one fun night game. But outside of that was a lot of games where you're like.

And that's like your negative attitude. Negative.

This is the first one for me out of these teams with that. I don't really know in terms of outside other positivity. Let me help you be a little more positive. Throw some positive stuff in there.

I got something for you. Okay, how about there's a basketball school right down the road that just became a football powerhouse and won a national championship. Why not bbn? Why not Big Blue Nation? Why not you get the right coach. Like, listen, here's what Dan Laning I texted Dan Laning about, about Will Stein. Staff and player relationships. Unbelievable. Not afraid to try new things. Matches, schemes to his personnel. The best. Makes QB comfortable in every system. Dynamic personality. Like there's a reason Oregon's been so good. Like both their coaches that are gone. But this is a Kentucky guy going home. He's got plenty of confidence. Like, why not? They just did it right down the road. Listen, the reason for optimism for this unit to me is the big blue wall. It's the offensive line up front. Like it. You've got, you got guys with starts across the board from Tennessee, from Alabama, from Ohio State, from Baylor, you got a QB and Kenny Minchi that has high upside.

But here's the thing, Brent, you can poo poo that all you want about like all the experience and stuff like that. Here's the thing. I have no doubt that Will Stein is going to get the best out of them. His system is really, really good. So to me the question about them is can CJ Baxter from Texas, by the way, huge recruit Javante Barnes, big recruit from Oklahoma, had his best season in Oklahoma. Nick Anderson played at Oklahoma, played at lsu. Like, can these guys stay healthy? Because they have been banged up throughout their careers. They stay healthy, but now with a clear. A clear guy that knows what he's doing and how to call plays. That's what I want to see. Success to me is they have a clear offensive identity. New they are. They scare some folks and they get one. They get one. That, that to me is a successful season for, for Kentucky.

Well, I was also accentuating the things that they have that are good. I don't think it's just me. I don't think it's. I think the play caller can make or break who you are. And what you are with those guys, I think there's enough pieces that they've brought in and enough experience, enough explosiveness and that now the play caller will put them in a position to succeed.

And that's why maybe you get one that you necessary, maybe you necessarily shouldn't because of.

You got like LSU at home, they Alabama at home in week two. That's an interesting one. Especially if Alabama is not feeling overly confident about their quarterback situation. That's the first time that either one's going to start on the road. Those are the ones early. Maybe get somebody early that. Because then you got later at Tennessee and you got Louisville at the end of the season. It's going to be tough.

I'm not, I'm not saying they're going to be in the end. I'm just saying like they did it right down the road. Why can't you do it? Like, why not? All right, Florida. What do I like the most about the University of Florida? Man, there is a lot to like about the University of Florida. I like John Summerall's personality. I like his demeanor. You see some of his quotes from SEC media day. Like somebody's phone goes off and he's like a, if you happen to my meeting, you'd be kicked out of my meeting and I might throw this podium at you. Like, that's my kind of guy. I like that. But in his four seasons at Troy and Tulane, 43 and 12 won three conference championships. Like produced an 11 win season. He's won everywhere he has been. You know, it'd be really, really good to bring in a guy that's a great offensive mind to bring the fun back to Florida, to bring the offense back to Florida. What a Florida fans want to see, they want to see points. They want points. Like that is what they want. So you know what, let's get Buster Faulkner, who's, who was coached at Georgia when they were winning championships, who knows how to design offense to be a pain in Georgia's butt. You've seen that. You've seen the success. He knows how to do that. And so he comes in to run the offense. And, and you know what else you did? You retained a lot of young, really freaking good talent. Like, that's a good thing for this team. Running back Jaden, Jaden Ball, he don't take a backseat to many in the country. His size, speed, his skill, his, his strength. Like, dude, he rushed for 1100, almost 1200 yards and eight touchdowns. Last season over 200 on the ground. Like first thousand yard rush rusher in Florida since Kelvin Taylor in 2015. That's crazy to me. By the way, you also got Miles Graham who led Florida with tackles. Vernell Brown, Wilson at receive, Dallas Wilson at receiver, like a lot of those young guys you brought back. So to me the biggest question mark, there's two big question marks that will really decide. The number one to me is the O line. You lost an all American center in Slaughter, an all sec tackle in Barber and a three year starter in George that are all gone. Like the offensive line, you got one guy Harris with 25 starts and then you got a lot of guys that you've recruited to come in. Like, can you be good enough to create some holes where you can run the football and then Faulkner can do his thing with all of the toys. Like if those guys up front are good enough to give time to create the ground game, he'll manufacture big plays in the passing game. And then obviously you know, Philo coming over and Tramell Jones Jr. Like competing for the job. Philo is going to start the season. And I do love, by the way, I do absolutely love Summerall's quote about that too. Just because you start game one doesn't mean you start game 12. Like they're all about competition. They're going to create it. Neither quarterback has led an SEC offense for a full season. Philo will get the start, I think early. He's got familiarity with Faulkner system. So can this system come over? How fast can the offensive line gel with the qb? Because the toys, the weapons, they don't take a backseat to anyone. Like who would you rather have in the country if you're going to have it from a running back and receiver standpoint, like is there a better combination than Florida? Is there a better unit you would take? That's how freaking good they are. You can debate it but like that's how good it is. So in the conversation, in the conversation,

And I think this is another where. As much as I think summer was an upgrade for Florida and some roll buster combo for Florida, I think this is an even, even bigger upgrade. That head coach and qb, the two most important things, and that's what I like the most about the Auburn Tigers this year, is you get to see how, how just how good South Florida was because of all the guys that they brought with them. But Coach Goles and Byram, like, that's one of the ones we have to. It's not Byron. We gotta make sure we R u m Byron Brown. Just such an upgrade for them. And especially when you look at how they lost last year, the games that they lost and it's just like so close to being actually something especially with the talent that they had. I just think that's a massive upgrade for them. Question wise though, how good, just how good is Byron Brown? I think we know what he is as a runner and how physical he is and just the borderline freak show that he is as a runner but as a passer. Like if you look at last year against Florida Miami, 59% completion, couple turnovers in one in each game. Can he do that consistently at this level? Much like we talked about with Mattier, how kind of he stepped up and his running took a backseat a little bit when he stepped up in competition. Does Brown's passing game step up with like he does now going from the G5 to the SEC? That's the biggest question. But I just, I can't say enough about the upgrade to me for them at head coach in qb.

I wouldn't do that if I were you, though. I wouldn't do that. Week one. Byron, Byron Brown is going to be very healthy. Here's stuff to know about Byron Brown and then we'll get to, I'll get to the questions. How about he had 42 total touchdowns to lead FBS last year, one of 12 players in NCAA history to go for 3,000. 1,000. So 3,500 passing, 1,000 Russians. And he's shown what he's been for years so we know what kind of talent he is. The, the, the question is, does the USF formula translate to the SEC size and speed? Like that's what you said and I'm saying a bit different. But Brown was, was dominant. The Auburn offensive line has to hold up against better fronts. But, but it, it to me that's, that's huge for them is how that holds up. And I also think the defense, I'm very interested, they bet on the young talent. They let a lot of guys walk out the door. A lot of guys go to other places who will be starting at other spots that we'll be talking about. But here's the thing. Here's a successful season and I'm going to take Alex Golish's words that he said to us on C ball get ball a couple of weeks ago before SEC media does clear a clear identity of who we are and what he said at SEC media day. I love the way he said it. The ability to be the most violent football team on the field every Saturday. I think that's something you can watch and see. That's the identity that we're trying to bring back to Auburn. That's Auburn's. Listen, Cam Newton. That's what it was about. It was about. He was violent, they ran the football. We talked about, we talked about Florida. When was their success? When they were high flying and running the football and having success. Like Auburn was the same thing, man. So there's a reason Auburn fans should be jacked up. There's a reason they should be excited. But just. I think the finding the clear identity would be a successful season. But I promise you they gonna get somebody, they gonna get some bodies.

Can make the playoff. These are the other two for me outside of the seven. Tennessee. I know you threw that one in there. But that and that I would. Mike, maybe go there especially if they get solid quarterback play. But these two, if things go right and other things maybe go wrong, other teams fall back. These are the two that from a talent perspective, that's interesting to me.

Like 2 and 10 to 5 and 8. And listen, here's the thing about Mississippi State, bro. Like, there should be real optimism about Kamari O. Taylor, K1. Like this dude is not a. He's not a guy. He's a dude, man. Like four star recruit. Most highly recruited kid out of Mississippi. Like programs like Georgia A and M, Missouri, Vanderbilt. Like he was competing with everyone. This dude's six four, he's 230, he can run it. He can Throw it. His first start against the Egg bowl, you saw exactly what you needed to see. First of all, Egg bowl, huge rivalry. 178 passing for K1, 173 rushing. He had a scored a touchdown rushing or passing in each of the last six games. K1 will be one of the most entertaining players in all of college football. It doesn't matter who he plays with. Jeff Lebby and that system, you've seen it get better and better every single year. You've seen the offense continue to go up like this. This is a team that has Learned There were 26 points per game a couple of years ago, 30 last year. Like they, they go up because the system becomes faster, they become more accustomed to it. When he starts to grasp it more and more and gets the passing game going will be a question. Listen, it's still Mississippi State and if I'm following Mississippi State in 2024. Holy cow. We couldn't stop a nosebleed, bro. We couldn't stop a nosebleed. 31, 34 points a game over 450 yards a game. Defense last year a little bit better. 30 points a game. Right. So it got down a little bit. Can the defense that gets gassed consistently, can they get some form of a, of a. They have a lockdown corner in Kelly that could be a first round pick out on the outside. He's a, he's a fricking baller. Like really, really good. Can they build that and get a little bit of improvement? Because the offense is going to take some steps forward. So year three, do we take that next step, you know, beyond the 8 or 5 and 8 mark? And do you get somebody? Because here's the thing. Mississippi State competed with Texas, Mississippi State competed with Florida. Mississippi State competed with Tennessee. But they lost to all of them. They were right there. Can they finish with all of them? So I would be excited about K1. Can the defense get a little bit better and can they improve a little bit more with Jeff Lebby? It'd be fun to watch, but I think they'll be exciting.

And Taylor led the team and missed tackles forced despite half the carries less than everybody else. Dude, he's a physical freak.

Why do I like South Carolina? Why should I like South Carolina? Why should you be excited if you're a South Carolina fan? Because you got game changers. It's really fun to start with that point. You don't have guys got freaking game changers. Dylan Stewart can take over a game. Lenora Sellers can take over a game. Nick harbor has game changing speed. Like you make the, you make the adjustment this offseason. You bring in Kendall Briles as the offensive coordinator who's been at TCU and you want to look at their points. 31 a game, 33 a game, 31 a game. Like he was at Arkansas from 20 to 22. Like he, he was very, very good. Lenora Sellers, can we take a big step? Lenora Sellers ability is way bigger than he's played so far. Listen, first year as a starter, learning and growing. But his numbers weren't great last year compared to like first year as a starter was very similar. 2,500 yards passing, 18 touchdowns, 7 ints, almost 700 rush. Last year, 2,500 passing, 13 TDs, 8 interceptions, 270 rush. Like so he took off less. He was less willing to take hits. The system obviously now I think will fit him a little bit better. The biggest question mark by far, and they know this and this is what they did this offseason. People have talked about Shane Beamer and his job and all that stuff. What do you need to do? The O line was a huge weakness. Like beyond weakness. Couldn't run the football, couldn't create lanes for Laura Sellers. If you get him to the second level, he's a problem for everybody. South Carolina addressed it aggressively like into the portal. Eight transfers on the offensive line, headlined by Jacarius Peak from NC State. The left tackle, like, you've got dudes, you've got ability, you've got game changers. Lenora Sellers improves with a new oc. You better watch the heck out, man. This could, this is going to be one of those teams, I think that surprises people. They're Going to be ranked at some point. They're going to be competitive in big games. They get a potential late game, late season surge.

That's what I want to see.

It was straight booty cheeks. Like straight booty cheeks. Like it was just so ungood. Yards per play, one of the worst in the country. Yards per game, one of the worst in the country. Get to the next ones. All right. These are teams that I love. These are teams that I think are going to turn some heads. These are teams that will be fun to watch, that will outperform what people think. First one is NC State. They've had their moments. NC State. But this is a team that has won 10 games one time in school history. Philip Rivers, the guy who just played for the Colts last year, like that's the last time that they won 10 games and the only time that was in 2002 when they went 11 and three. Like Philip Rivers is in the 10 win club and he's just been sitting there waiting there for 24 years and nobody's joined him. It's changing this year, baby. It's changing this year. I love the schedule. I love CJ Bailey returning as the quarterback. Like I love. He's got, he's got some big gifts. He's still got to work on consistency. But that is a big strong sucker. 31 total touchdowns last year, almost two years is starting experience. Remember he came back in, he came in for Ryan Finley a couple years ago. The schedule creates a real opening for NC State to get to 10 wins like Louisville, Duke, Wake Forest, Cal and Syracuse. They all come to rally, they all come to Raleigh. And you want to know something good? North Carolina State, they avoid Clemson, Miami, smu, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame. The Wolf Pack also won four of its last five games last season and a big bowl victory. They just got to stay healthy. They're not, they don't have the huge depth that a lot of people have, but they have a quarterback that can make big plays. The weapons are going to have to grow around them because guess what happens when you're pretty good and you develop players like coach does. Hollywood Smothers leaves, go somewhere else. Terrell Anderson, Noah Rogers, and then Jolly goes to the NFL like they lost some guys and they'll develop the skill around him. But the defense remains, you know, the kind of the second concern. But I way they finished the defense finished good last year. This is year two under DJ Elliott. But the late game, late season improvements got to give you some, some hope. Like early in the season it wasn't as good. But the final like it was 27 points a game early in the season. And then the last three games, last three opponents, it was 37 points total. So second year in the system with Elliott. I think the Wolf Pack sit to be in a great spot. And I think Philip Rivers, C.J. bailey rolls up to Philip Rivers at the bar and says, holla, man, I'm in your club. All right, that's team one, team two. Oklahoma State Cowboys. You should have known this. I shouldn't have to say this out loud. I've been in my cowboy hat all offseason. I'm riding the Cowboys. They'll be in the mix for the Big 12 this year. They're going to get plenty of folks. Listen, why do I say that? Eric Morse basically brings it's. It shouldn't even be called Oklahoma State this year. It should, should be Oklahoma Texas, right? Or Oklahoma north, right? Like from North Texas. However you want to break it up. He brings 21 players from North Texas with him. So first year of installation with the quarterback, the running back, the leading receivers, the offensive coordinator, the whole works. When you bring all that together with all those players, it's not going to be as hard to develop that like Stillwater will be rocking early. They'll be scoring a bunch of points. They'll be having fun. Drew mester maker, get to know your new quarterback. He'll be a first round draft pick in the future. Almost 4,400 yards led the FBS a year ago. Like completed almost 70% of his passes, 34 touchdowns, nine interceptions. Like the Cowboys are basically importing. Like this is like playing the video game, right? You just import who you Want, but they're importing literally between quarterback, running back and receivers. 73 touchdowns from last season. Oklahoma State went one in 11. That Shiznik's gone. Here's the thing. Defense, can you give me some turnovers, please? Please just don't be a turnstile like get some stops, get the ball back to your offense. Good things will happen. That's next on my list though. And we'll get more into these teams later on. This is just a quick pump for. These are teams that are going to be better than you think. But Houston is the next one. Houston is my next squad. Like Houston, everybody else is going to have a problem. In the Big 12. The defense comes back mostly intact. I love what the defense was. Remember this was a 10 win team a year ago. 6 win turnaround. They went 60 on the road last year. Connor Wigman is back. This is, this is one of 11 teams in the country with head coach, OCDC special teams coordinator and starting quarterback back like Mari Thomas has playmaking ability out wide after going for 1012 touchdowns. The offensive line is going to be really, really good, which is a, it's going to take considerable steps forward and they were a 10 win team last year. Tanner at tight end was really, really good a year ago. He's their highest ranked player, by the way, in EA Sports. He's a 92 overall rating, which I really, really liked. But Houston is my third team and fourth team. We just covered him. South Carolina. I just think too many game changers on that South Carolina squad not to be a pain in somebody's ace and to shock college football and to outperform what people are going to think they're going to. We're going to hit some of these, we're going to miss some of these. But I feel really confident in all of these teams for next season that they're going to surprise some people, shock some people and have some fun. All right, let's get the podium Kings.
