And how about that Pollock interception in the end zone?

Well, it's David Pollack and I think people are going to learn what kind of ball player he is. He's got a heart of a lion. I'm real proud of that kid.

If you did hear that on the on the welcome in. That was Brent Rollins saying I need to get a better tan. Next to the, next to the native American face. That that's Brent Rollins. You can see him right there on three. Pff. It's now. It's now. Your face is a little bit even more red. Yes, it was fun but I am, I am, I am super excited, stoked, jacked, whatever you want to say. Like I haven't been this happy about a bill that I've seen as I Am the student athlete act bill. And here's the. Here, here's. Let me, let me go ahead and do this. I'm gonna pour poor cold water on it because it's not gonna happen probably. Which really, really sucks. Like, it really sucks. But let me tell you something. Like, you talking about like, stamp of approval. I'm all in. Like, I would be. This is the bill that Tommy Tuberville like, like is trying to implement. Like, it's a real bill. I freaking love it. Five years to get an education, to compete and then move on. Like, Instead of having 29 year old players and 26 year old players, whatever, the ages are. Like, where you used to be called a doctor, now you're called a, you know, a linebacker. Like, that would be gone. And you know, and this is interesting too, because it overrides the ncaa, which, which is a good thing because the NCAA has the, the medical and they had the COVID and they have if, ands or buts. But like the transfer portal would go to now. One time freebie and one time, the next time you transferred, you'd have to sit out. The NCAA still handles it, but, but, but they're provided antitrust protection, which is what they want and what they need. Like if the NCAA ever wants to get anything done, they need the antitrust protection basically, so they can't get sued. But like, this makes so much sense, it's ridiculous. It would simplify things. It doesn't change, it doesn't overhaul nil and change the system of nil. But man, oh man, would this be a game changer because it would limit movement, which would help nil. It would, it would help the eligibility issues and it would head us in the right direction because less pay, less for play would be a good thing for a lot of people. Less movement. It's a good thing. But athletes still get paid. Like, they still get paid. And the bill, here's what the bill does too, man. Like, it being on a national level, there's no state to state, different operating agreements. It would be one rule for everybody. Everybody has to abide by it. Like, this would be way too much common sense and get us way too, way too, way too much closer to the game that we need to be at than anything else we've seen, anything else we've done. I freaking love it. I'd sign it right now into action. I wish I could.
Brent Rollins
Did you mention the five years to play? Five.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yes.
Brent Rollins
Yeah.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Okay.
Brent Rollins
I thought you did mention that.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Five years to get an education, compete, and move the Heck, on like, I
Brent Rollins
mean this is basically. I wrote this two years ago. If you just added the stay for two years out of high school piece like that was the only thing that. I always thought that. I think if you would get recruited out of high school, you should stay at one school for two years. That way. Like that way recruiting actually matters in a way. But. And then only get the fifth year to play if you graduate. I think there's got to be an element of academics in this too. But it does help that it does. I, I do think it's also appropriate that I don't know if you saw this today, that TJ Finley announced he was declaring for the draft instead of going and playing for his sixth college team.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
So like it would eliminate things like that. So I was thinking about what it would look like because we had the, the freshman receivers at Ohio State, the Graham and Porter kid, who were they true freshmen at Ohio State. So they get their one time transfer. Now they're at Notre Dame.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yep.
Brent Rollins
And let's say, okay, hey, it goes bad at Notre Dame. They hate life at Notre Dame. And I'm like, okay, we gotta get out of here again. You transfer again. So the junior year you'd sit out and then your senior and then sort of, I guess I. What do we call it? 5th year senior? Always like. Yeah, that would be the new term. Yeah, that would have to change.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Final year five. Would you just go year one, year two, year three, year four, year five and simplify it?
Brent Rollins
I mean that, that is a thought I had. Like what do you call it? Everybody's just a fifth year senior.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I think you simplify. But, but here's the thing. Here's. Here's what I love about it, man. Like there would be less movement. And that to me is a win. I love. Again, I'm always going to support player movement at least one time because the coaches get it wrong, the coaches get it wrong sometimes and they don't handle the player correctly. Go somewhere else. Now I think you're also good. The problem is the if ands or buts and your coach gets fired. And those kind of stipulations are always really, really hard. But, but those are like the tiny parts of it. Let's get the major parts of it taken care of. But man, it just like that, that kind of scenario. Okay, well, if the guys sit for a year and they still don't get to play at Notre Dame the way they wanted to, they would be more inclined to stick it out and go make it work. Because the money situation might be different. Because here's the thing. If you're leaving to go to another school and you got to sit out, I ain't paying you to sit out, bro. Like, there's going to be a. Okay, I'm going to take some of your check. And guess what it does, Brent, it, it limits your window to make money. So if you're limiting my window to make money, there's a, basically a penalty for this. Right? Like, so I just like it because the player is not. Their power isn't taken away, their money isn't taken away. It makes the system where we can work together, it makes education be a priority, which I think it should. Like, I know I'm in the minority with a lot of this because people don't care about education. A lot of times they just care about football. I, I get it. But 97% or 98% of these kids aren't going to the league. Like, that's a, that's a factual number that is going to stick there. So it helps them get closer to a degree. It helps them maximize their max or their making power, which is good, but it limits the movement, which I think everybody likes. Like, I, I, I freaking love it.
Brent Rollins
And also to me, I, I hate the fact that the current system incentivizes, for example, somebody like Dart Dante Moore, even Arch Manning, for that example. He could say, every year I'm putting my name in a portal. You want to come bid for me? You want to come, you know, pay for my services? You can, he can do that. I, I just, like there, the incentive is to just put your name in the portal every year and see what somebody's going to pay you.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, and that's, that's a stipulation that I would add, too. If you put your name in the transfer portal accounts, there's no in renegot. You put your name in the transfer portal, that counts. Like, we're not doing the in game, out game, in game, out game to renegotiate my contract every single year and promote tampering. That's all that's going to do. It's going to promote the game to be dirty, to be backdoor deals. No, I'm out.
Brent Rollins
Like, you sound like a, you sound like a good parent right there.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
Be a man of your word, son.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Heck of an idea, man. I'm going to do the same thing with my son. Heck of an idea. Like, yeah, I want you to be a man of your word. What's what? Our boy Johnny Knoxville say.
Brent Rollins
Appreciate that super chat. It's back in the 90s. The networks used to pay majors and G or put majors and GPAs on the screen for the players. Haven't seen that in over a decade.
DP (Host/Analyst)
You ain't lying, brother.
Brent Rollins
I haven't seen any ineligible players in a while.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I've been saying that for a while. When's the last time we heard about somebody ineligible? Like it's been a hot minute anyways, if you're a football fan, I just. I don't know how. I don't know how. You wouldn't like it. I'd be interested. You guys hit us up. Hit me up on social media. If it's something you don't like, I'd love to know why you don't like it.

All right, Numbers don't lie. Brett, get to me
Brent Rollins
QBs. We always it's always fun to talk quarterbacks. So if I had to ask you, fourth quarter game, online conference championship game, big game, playoff scenario, whatever that may be, who do you trust? And basically what I did was I started Diving into some of the. The kind of clutch/ fourth quarter data that we have@profitballfocuspff.com you can go and get a subscription there and you can
DP (Host/Analyst)
nerd out and get any number you want in the history of mankind.
Brent Rollins
So I was looking specifically at the fourth quarter because there's some interesting names that here when you look at, okay, just fourth quarter performance and grades of who stood out a year ago. That's coming back. So if I asked you who would be your top three, two to three that you said, hey, these guys were big time in the fourth quarter a season ago.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, after watching the playoff, it's very like Trinidad Chambliss is. Is absolutely. I bet you his numbers might not be elite of elite because I remember the Georgia game. He was really bad in the fourth quarter. The first one, second one, hold my beer. But like, when he played in the, in the playoff, I was literally like, he didn't, he didn't. He didn't lose to Miami in the fourth quarter. He ran out of time. Like he. Otherwise he would have gotten it done.
Brent Rollins
Maybe Trinidad hair of space that he. On that last row.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I mean, dude. So Trinidad would easily come to mind as number one.
Brent Rollins
So Trinidad number one returning quarterback in the, in the fbs, because I included. I went all of FBS this time because we've got some. That factor into this. 57% completion the fourth quarter. 91.5 passing grade, 10.6 yards per attempt, eight touchdowns, no picks in the fourth quarter. All right, who's next on your list in terms of QBs coming back? And they could be in a, you know, somebody that's in a new spot that they went to, you know, transferred, that sort of thing.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, that's.
Brent Rollins
Any of that.
DP (Host/Analyst)
That's the problem. Like, you know, you know, the interesting thing because you, I think Julian Saiyan's probably high, but like Julian saying, didn't have a lot of fourth quarter mom because they were winning so much. Right?
Brent Rollins
Like, he had 51 drop backs in the fourth quarter, only 50. It's one of the lowest numbers he play. So he played 14 games and had 51 drop backs in the fourth quarter. Sam Levitt had played seven games and had 69 drop backs.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, I, I, Levitt probably. I could see Levitt being on that list.
Brent Rollins
79.2 grade, not quite in that top five range. Top, you know, top 10 range, but right there.
DP (Host/Analyst)
But if you went to the Texas game, you saw some. And you went to the Big 12 championship game before that, you saw some hey, Matier had some moments where he was better. He was better early in the season though, than, than late in the season. I remember the, the Michigan game was really good. Remember early in the season before the injury, Texas, not so good.
Brent Rollins
Not there for material. Material. Kind of struggled in general, especially as the year went on there.
DP (Host/Analyst)
C.J. carr, did he have enough, did he have enough data to, to support this either? Because Miami, he was, he was good. Miami remember, like, he was, he was kind of solid back though. They got down, they got down early. Didn't have very many.
Brent Rollins
Let me give you a hint, Let me give you a hint who number two is in the, in the fourth quarter.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Gunner Stockton.
Brent Rollins
It's a guy that you made a comment about. Some comments about that.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, Gunner Stockton has to be up there. I mean, what, what he did against Tennessee, I mean that was obviously super clutch. What he did against Ole Miss was super clutch. Like he had some moments middle of the year last year where you thought like later first quarter of the season to middle of the year to 75% where you were like, okay, this dude's really figured it out and he is, he's gone, he's gone to another level.
Brent Rollins
All right, so Gunner Stockton was number two in terms of returning QBs in the fourth quarter. 89.3 passing grade, 77% completion. His average depth of target actually was. It wasn't like it was completely tiny because of the screens or anything like that. It was. No, it was kind of normal. Seven touchdowns total and no picks in the fourth quarter.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I'll give you Dante Moore.
Brent Rollins
He was not. He was. It's kind of middle of the pack.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Not because he had the Iowa moment. That was big time.
Brent Rollins
Yes, he had that one big time throw there.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
But the 3, 4 and 5, Connor Wegman, remember, they had a big comeback win.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Uh, I would have never guessed that ever in a million years.
Brent Rollins
At Houston for Drew Mestemaker for North Texas, 9.8 yards per attempt for him in the fourth quarter, 69 completion. And then Arch Manning on 104 drop backs, which is way more than, than any of these other guys had.54 completion, 7 yards per attempt, 5 touchdowns, 2 picks. But a lot of big time throws for Gunner Stockton. But it's just when you think about that, the question, when I looked at that, could you see a world where that's, you know, that's three, potentially even four playoff quarterbacks this year.
DP (Host/Analyst)
No. You talking about you putting Wigman in the playoffs?
Brent Rollins
Well, one of them. So west master makers in the Big 12 as well.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, I think, I think the last two, it's going to be really, really hard. And I think Ole Miss is going to be really hard. Like, I think three out of four of those would be very difficult. I think, I think Georgia, it's going to be interesting to watch them. I'm so interested to watch them without Branch. Like, so interested because everything in that offense screamed Branch was the first, was the most important player. Like literally now Bobo coming back healthy and that offensive line and that run game could be absolutely dirty. Like, it could be dirty. But. But I'm interested to watch the throw game. I would. Hey, the. Would you like one or the other?
Brent Rollins
Yeah, I would say more likely.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, more likely that three of them are out than three of them are in.
Brent Rollins
Yeah. And that because of the. And that's three big names. So I. That's. That's an interesting way of looking at it. Some other ones, just some other unique numbers that I throw out. And then we're going to get back to the gunner thing. Jaden Myava was up there right outside the top 10. Sam Levitt as well. Sorsby, Byron Brown, 64 completion, five TDs, plus five rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter. And then most drop backs a year ago in the fourth quarter. Number two. Number one was Jalen Rayner who was at Arkansas State. Now he's at Iowa state. But number two was Darian Mensah. Yeah, he had 161 drop backs in the fourth quarter, eight touchdowns, one pick and they're trailing a lot. JKS for Cal that you talked to coach. How did you have him say it, by the way? Did you. I can't. I didn't have a chance to listen to it yet.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I, I said it and he said I did good. So, so he did talk. Hey, Tosh lapoy talked about how he went to the team meeting and, and he wasn't there. And so like he was talking to everybody and he wasn't there. He went from the team meeting, went straight from the team meeting to the airline, flew straight to Hawaii, looked him up on the Internet to get an address to go meet with him. It was 12am they met from 12 to 2am in Hawaii time. And when he left, he got him to agree to stay. He's like, he said, I will prove to you why you should stay at cal. Give me 30 days. Tosh Lapoy interview was a really good one, guys. Like, I'm telling you, man, it was impossible not to leave a fan of that cat. Like you go listen to that dude that will, that will like you will be like oh, huh. I will run through that wall right there and the next one and the next one for that dude.
Brent Rollins
So my early off season tweet of playoff team, potential playoff team that we need to look out for is of Cal. I feel a little better about that now after listening to him talk.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I mean that dude, he's got. And listen and when you go through the names of Cal too, it ain't like they've been booger eaters man. Like they've got some dudes like he, he played with in his playing days with the Sean Jackson, Marshawn lynch and Aaron Rodgers. Like and then you start going through the other names too and he went through one Matt Best. Like they've put golf, they put some guys in the league.
Brent Rollins
So that's also looked at one score games. Kevin Jennings was a lot, way really good in one score games. Nico was also really good in one score games.
DP (Host/Analyst)
But that three game stretch, that was dirty.
Brent Rollins
The Gunner, the Gunner talk because I know you'd mentioned that with, I saw that on socials with talking with Aaron Murray. So I wanted to, I went back and thought about this from the national championship perspective. So I went back and looked. The last four national championship quarterbacks averaged 256 yards a game, total yards and two and a half touchdowns a game. Last year gunner was at 243A game and 2.4 touchdowns per game. So in terms of PFF grade is I think his passing grade was like 81, lowest out of those four which would be Mendoza, how will Howard, McCarthy and then Stetson in 2022. Yep, lowest PFF grade was will Howard. It was like 85.6. So at least from that perspective got to step it up. But I didn't know if you wanted to talk any more so about that Gunner comment because I actually have one counter to that in a way.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, I don't, I don't, I didn't, I didn't look what was said. But I did have some people, I did have some people text, text my direction. But I know what, I know what I said and what I said was if Gunner doesn't elevate Georgia's doesn't have a chance to win a national championship. And I completely agree with that. Like he has to, he has to get better. So to me the Gunner season a year ago started off very rocky. Got really, really on solid footing and the way it finished, it ended rocky. It did not end with him playing his best ball with Georgia Tech with Alabama. Alabama, they won the SEC championship game because of defense and turnovers. Like, and then going to the playoffs like it wasn't a carefree. Let it rip Gunner. Now I need to. That middle of the year guy has to be there for the whole season and he's got to get better. Like he's got to get a better throw in the football. And I think the degree of difficulty is going to be different because I think you're breaking in a lot of new receivers, like a ton of basically all of them. So now the running game could dictate like how easy it could be for him, but Gunner's going to have to get better. And I did. I saw things throughout the season where, and listen, I said this, where he layered the football better, where he didn't have to wind up to throw it, where he just would turn it and spit it. Like those are good things. But reading the defenses, being aggressive, a mindset of not messing up. Those are things that as you gain experience, you get better at. And those things will have to get better if they want to win the whole thing. If you want to win a national championship, it's going to have to get better.
Brent Rollins
I do on the surface I very much agree. And there's like I've been going back through every game, every drop back of his. I wrote about that sort of first games through Auburn, so the first five games are through Kentucky now in the, in that middle stretch where he was really good, one of the really high rated QBs in the country and was phenomenal and getting through that stretch and then at the end. But the thing though is that the other side of that coin to me with is how much they can improve defensively.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yep.
Brent Rollins
To help answer that question, because you look at the last four or last even five national champions, two, one, one, five and one in terms of points per game allowed, scoring, defense rank. So Indiana was 2, Ohio State was 1, Michigan was 1, Georgia in 2022 was 5, 2021 was 1. Georgia last year was like right around 18 points a game and 10th in the country. So if that side of the ball creeps back up a little bit, potentially turns the ball over, you might be able to see a scenario where you
DP (Host/Analyst)
ain't asked to chuck it around the yard.
Brent Rollins
Right. The incremental improvements are. Don't have to be large. They can be small and just maybe not necessarily noticeable things. Statistically almost maybe even be the same. But small incremental improvements with the elevation on the other side might counter that question. But anyway No, I wanted to get that because it was a fun conversation. I think I saw the clip and yeah, I thought that was a good. Especially when we're looking at this fourth quarter data, too.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, I mean, it's. It's good stuff to contemplate. It's good stuff to talk about. It's. But Trinidad was the easiest decision that you asked me. Like, because just watching him in the playoffs, I was like, yeah, that's, that's what it looks like.
Brent Rollins
So if, if, if you had to go into this season and I, I give you one guy in the fourth quarter to go get it, get you a game winning drive. Is he the answer?
DP (Host/Analyst)
100%. I saw enough, bro. I mean, now listen, he's going to. The deck is not stacked for him this year with new receivers, a new coach, a new oc. Like, it's, it's not, it's not all lining up, but I. Dude, like, look at what he just did. I mean, he just, he found answers and he made big time scrambles and plays. Like, he just, he had all the answers to the test. He had the poise. He was. He was unbelievable. He was unbelievable. Yeah, it wouldn't be. It wouldn't be close for me.
Brent Rollins
I like the choice.
DP (Host/Analyst)
All right. All right. It's tourney time and just went to the SEC tournament actually. And let me tell you something. If you're going to a game, use Game time. It's the easiest thing in the history of the world. The GameTime app, if you use the promo code Pollock, it gets you $20 off of your first order. Or go to Gametime co. If you go to Gametime co, you can use it. It's on the go. Obviously, that website. Use the app. It shows you. It's. It's no hidden fees, no bull crud. You can see a view of your seat, how fast it is to get to the concession stand, which we all need to know, right? Like, so go get that discount. No fees. You deserve it. Promo code Pollock. Get your seat gametime co. Or use the Game Time app. The Game Time app is so simple, so easy. It's. It's really, really good.
Brent Rollins
All right.
DP (Host/Analyst)
If you, if you look at the clip that we put on social media. Interesting. Wes, I think. Or Wes. Or can we play the clip, Wes. And show the clip on here? Or is that not ready to rock and roll? It's not game footage. I know, but like, it's a clip. Yeah, I'm gonna.
Wes (Co-host)
I'm about to play it for you.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Swanky. Okay, so this Went kind of viral a little bit, but like, it's kind of, it's kind of cool. This is really cool to see that. You see. And this is courtesy of B1 Sports. So we're giving you credit for the clip, but it's Bane in his stance and it really shows you like him striking the dummy. And you know, when we talk about Bane, like there's a lot of people that talks about his arm length. There's a lot of people that talk about what he doesn't have. That clip right there, man. And if you show it again one more time, Wes, like here's the most impressive part and you can look on our socials. But like the hands go right to the target face goes in the fit and then extension all the way out. You can see him, dude, like flat back. So no wasted motion, plenty of power. I can nitpick one little thing. Get. I would like to see him get his foot in the ground faster. But, but like that's the, that's the football player you see with him. And like, yeah, you can keep talking about his arms all you want. Like Reuben Baines play on the field and how good he is. I'll take him in a heartbeat. And he's not going to slip way down the first round. I think he'll slip probably a little bit, but I don't think he's going to be there in the second half of the first round. In the 20s. Like, I just, I think he's too good of a football player, has too much power. We can talk about T Rex and the short arms, but that's the kind of clip you can see, man, how technique matters. And him and Mazador played with unbelievable technique. And the most important thing, unbelievable effort. Like, unbelievable effort. Had such a motor, played so hard. And that absolutely matters. All right. Podium kings ain't done this in a while, but you know, we're going to get you a little bit of sound from the, the podium and once we do, you can, you can hear it and then we can talk about it.

Wes (Co-host)
All right, caught me off guard there, dp. Thought you're going to be talking about Reuben Bane for a little bit longer. I like all the lines on the, on the, on that video from B1 Sports.
DP (Host/Analyst)
You can see the power, right? Like you, you can see like the power and the, the movement. It was, it was, it was really cool. It was cool.
Wes (Co-host)
I'd like to like, put those lines on, like me getting a snack out of the pantry or something. Like, how fast am I reaching in?
DP (Host/Analyst)
Look how twitchy Wes is right here. Watch him go for the burger.
Wes (Co-host)
All right, so first podium king of the night, Providence head coach Brian Hodgson. I think this is amazing. Maybe the, the podium king of the off season. This is basketball, by the way, 100%. But we both made a note of this one. This is a no brainer.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I want to thank my family. Steve talked about it. My better half, my. My beautiful spouse here, Jordan. My son Jet, who you'll. You'll hear plenty throughout this speech. If you ever want to question my recruiting abilities, just, just take a look at my wife, Jordan. Guy can recruit, dude. This has been talked about, Wes, for years and years and years. When you go see assistant coaches and you go look at their wives, like, can you pull them or can you not? Like that is the ultimate. Do you have the mouthpiece? And what you couldn't see about Coach Hodgins Hodgson is. What is it? Like, it's Hodge. Hodgson. Hodgson. What you couldn't see is middle aged man, balding hair is not. Not solid. Not. It's just not. Sorry, bud. It's not solid. But the dude's got a smoke show for a wife. Like, it makes a lot of sense. When we visited Clemson, I was talking to somebody and he was like, yeah, you know, I'm the recruiting coordinator. And I was like, I can see. I can see why. It's like, what do you mean? I Was like, your wife, I see her. Like, it makes total sense. You've better be able to do that. So he's absolutely not wrong.
Wes (Co-host)
Moneyball, right? They, they, they knock the prospect because he doesn't have confidence enough to get an attractive wife. All right, next one. Memphis defensive coordinator Lance Guidry is, I think, I think how you say it, another guy just shooting you straight, just letting you know he had an opportunity to take another job. But then Memphis opened up right down the road, and he was asked about it, and here's what he had to say.
Brent Rollins
Funny story.
DP (Host/Analyst)
One of the GA's on staff said, coach, did you see what happened in Memphis?
Brent Rollins
Like, no, what happened is the defense
DP (Host/Analyst)
coordinator just left, went to Georgia Tech. I'm like, oh, my God, I'm gonna do it again. Because it happened at two lane. I just taken the two lane job in Miami. Called, and when money calls, you gotta go, right? I mean, you're talking about doubling and tripling your salary. Talking about a country boy that's never made over $50,000 in high score at Magneese. Right.
Brent Rollins
So Tulane.
Wes (Co-host)
Tulane.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Oh, you can hear the Cajun. Hey, when money calls, you gotta go, you gotta go. I mean, like, is that as real and honest as it gets? Like in the world of nil, in the world of players doing the same exact thing? Like, money calls, you gots to go. I mean, I kind of cut that
Wes (Co-host)
clip short because he does.
DP (Host/Analyst)
There's more greatness in that clip.
Wes (Co-host)
There's plenty Asian fashion.
Brent Rollins
He.
Wes (Co-host)
He can really spin a story together. But it wasn't that cut and dry. He had a good conversation with his coach and sounds like they left on amicable terms. But money calls. You gotta go.
DP (Host/Analyst)
You gotta go, baby. You gotta go. All right. Well, all right. So next. Wes, you really should stay. You should have stuck around. We should have. We could have kept this one going. Yeah, stay here. So this was on. This was on three. And this was Urban Meyer coming back to pump up. To pump up the Florida Gators.
Wes (Co-host)
Yep. John Sumrall asked courts Irvin Meyer to come back and talk to the Gators. And I wanted to ask you, which program right now do you think could benefit the most from a former living legend head coach to come back. Maybe there's a new coach there. Maybe. Maybe a coach has been there for a little while that could benefit the most from a former guy coming back to fire up the troops. And you didn't hesitate with your answer.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I mean, well, there's. There's so many places where your brain can go with this, like, there's so much goodness and so much pettiness. But. But immediately I go Edo and lsu. I mean, come on, man. Like, Edo is going to come back and rile up the raging Cajuns, rile up the troops. I mean, relationship with. With Lane Kiffin, coached with him obviously in the past, been on his staff. Like, I mean, Edo, like Louisiana, shirtless in the meeting. Like 100%. Why not?
Wes (Co-host)
Yeah, I think that one makes too much sense. Brent, you got one, man.
Brent Rollins
So my first thought with this was you talk about the pettiness and the. You could be sort of weird with it. Like, you do have the Virginia Tech situation where their previous head coach is their DC Is now their defensive coordinator. So he's technically coming back and doing that. But the one for me with this. And I don't know if you've seen this clip and this is. It's non football. I went back to the hoops. Give me Patino. Give me Rick Pitino. Talking to any football team, like, where he's like, all the things that he said about where were you raised? Where's. How do you deal with adversity, all the. The halftime speech that he's. That's out there on socials that you see everywhere. He is lacing in to those players and it is awesome.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, I guess you'd have to go Tom Izzo in that vein too. Like, he'd be another one that you'd want to pull in and talk.
Brent Rollins
But like, other guys coach with Gerald would definitely.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
Probably want is around.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I mean, there's. There's tons of those. Like, you think some more petty ones, though. You think Lane could come back and talk to Ole Miss?
Brent Rollins
I mean, he's actually going to have a chance. I mean, they play each other, so.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
You think pregame boat, two pregame speeches.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah. What about saving? Coming back with.
Brent Rollins
Oh, that would. I. I know we got Roll Tide Forevermore in the. In the chat there, so.
DP (Host/Analyst)
And then I got. I got. I got one right down the road, though. What about George o'? Leary? I mean, Georgia Leary coming back to Texas or Georgia Tech to fire him up, man. Come on, get them. Get them all jacked up and excited. Hey, I'll give you my Georgia Leary. I'm calling a Central Florida game years ago on Thursday night. Georgia. Larry. First thing he said, he recruited me to Georgia Tech. Him and Bill o' Brien recruited me to Georgia Tech to play H back. And he was like, yeah, Pollock. He should have been an H back. Like you should. You should have come. You should have been an H back. And I was like, well, Coach, it worked out all right. Like, it worked out good. Like, we beat you several times. When I was at Georgia, I did throw that in there. But, like, my favorite thing he said, this is what made me think of giving a speech. He was like, you know, we want our guys to be a bunch of ants. And I was like, a bunch of what? He's like a bunch of ants. We wanted to be a bunch of ants. Think about when you. When you turn the lights on and you got a bunch of ants going up the wall. They just keep going up the wall. You know, those cockroaches will scatter. Like, you don't want to be a bunch of cockroaches. You want to be a bunch of ants. And I was like, sure, the guys were jacked up on that one.
Brent Rollins
I'm sure they were. I'm fired. Like, let's go, ants on three.
DP (Host/Analyst)
One, two, three, ants. Let's go. Like, we're a bunch of ants. But. But o' Leary would be. It would be fun, man. Think about, too, what happened. Like, if his resume thing doesn't fall through, where is George o'? Leary? You know, like, remember he got hired at Notre Dame, but because of the resume, never got that job. He was a really good master's degree
Brent Rollins
that he didn't have or something like that.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Dude, he was a really good football coach. I mean, really good football coach. Like, he had. He had it rolling. He had a heck of a staff. Ralph Friedman was on that staff. Like, James Franklin was with them at some point. Like, right. I think, like, it was. There was a ton of guys on that staff at Georgia Tech.
Brent Rollins
Spurrier, I'm sure some. Ross had, you know.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, he had the roast with Spurrier.
Brent Rollins
Yeah. Had the ball. He'll have the ball. Coach around, that's for sure.
Wes (Co-host)
I thought about that because Spurrier's around the program so much already.
Brent Rollins
Right.
Wes (Co-host)
I think it was kind of a good call. Like, bring in kind of a different voice. I'm sure Coach Meyer comes back a good bit as well. But bring in a guy that, you know, maybe some of these guys remember a little bit more recently.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Wes (Co-host)
Coach Spurrier. DP we were on our tour of all these new power forehead coaches. Any reflections looking back so far? Some of your best moments from some of these guys. Anything that stood out to you so far?
DP (Host/Analyst)
1. One thing that stands out is meant so many defensive guys, like, so many guys that play defense consistently time after time, whether it's Jimmy Rogers and Pats Fitzpat Fitzgerald. Like we kept going through the list and I kept being like, defense, defense, defense. John Summerall, defense, Played linebacker at Kentucky. Like I think the most feedback I got via text message was the Florida John Summerall. And I got a ton of Georgia fans that are like, man, I don't like it because I like that guy. Yeah, like he's got something to him, man. Like I, I like him and I don't like that I like him. So the Georgia fans were definitely not on board with that. But getting Jimmy Rogers to smile from Iowa State is a moral victory. Like that was a, that was one of the goals on the sheet. Tosh lapoy, another defensive guy. That was fantastic. That was really good. Hey, Will Stein coming up. Colin Kaepernick or Kaepernick? Colin Klein coming up. Colin Kaepernick not coming up. Kyle Whittingham coming up. James Franklin coming up. So we got a lot of, we got some offensive guys coming around the corner with Stein being a QB who was at Louisville by the way. I mean you talk about Stein, he's not coming back. Like we'll play him probably soon, this week or next week, but he, he's not coming back. Like as a, as like a fair weather Kentucky fan. Like he was section 128, row 13. Like that was his seats growing up. Like he's from Kentucky, he went to Kentucky games. He was a diehard. So like he's, he's living a dream. He's not, he's not going to another spot. And if you're a Kentucky fan, how mummy and Mike Leach and like now you got a chance, hey, let's score some points. That would be great. Like that's, that's pretty fantastic passion for the school is.
Brent Rollins
Especially in this pay for play world. Like when you know your coach has unreal like what we have down this, the road from us. Like yeah, it's, it matters. It very much matters in this world.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well and especially once you start doing well because Will Stein's a magician. Like we've seen like this dude knows how to call ball plays and he talks about it too. Just Bobby Petrino background. But like he is aggressive. He's got, he's got the it factor when it comes to play calling the balance of run and pass and he's not afraid to take chances. So I think that Kentucky's in a good spot and their portal hall was good, like really good.
Brent Rollins
Made me think of our earlier conversation about the whole fourth quarter numbers. One of the top 10, if you just look at. He only had like 25 drawbacks was Kenny Minchi, who's now.
DP (Host/Analyst)
How about that.
Brent Rollins
His QB at Kentucky. But. Yes.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yep. Yeah. And Menchie Minchi obviously has had some good moments, but, man, let me tell you something.
Brent Rollins
Like, we played that the one on Monday from coach the boy. Because you had to travel.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yes.
Brent Rollins
So you want. So how the travel go? Like you. I know you'd mentioned potentially wanting to hit that. So how was it? Because.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Well, there's the book.
Brent Rollins
It's death on. On social media, if you look at it.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yes.
Brent Rollins
Stay as far away from the airport as possible.
DP (Host/Analyst)
My favorite part about it is the books coming out April 7th and it's called Every Day Counts. But my baby doll is going on some of these trips with me, which is amazing because.
Brent Rollins
So you're doing like legit book tour stuff.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Oh, yeah. But. But, yeah. But it sucks going by yourself. Right? Like, it's just boring being in a hotel. So her coming along with me. With me has made it really, really fun. I've never seen this. I've traveled for a long time. I'm almost a million miles in the air for Delta. I'm coming up on my getting that.
Brent Rollins
Do you get something for that?
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, you get all kinds of status and like it's got a T shirt or something too. But this.
Wes (Co-host)
Give you a plane.
DP (Host/Analyst)
That'd be great. I wish that.
Brent Rollins
Wow.
DP (Host/Analyst)
West. That would be fantastic. If they. If they gave me a plane, that would be fantastic. But the line for Delta was in the parking garage. That's how backed up it was. It was in the parking garage. Legit. In the parking garage. Out the door in the parking garage.
Brent Rollins
That's.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I just think about that.
Brent Rollins
I. I get like hives, like, thinking about that. That would be. Because I remember when we went to. When we went to the draft to Vegas for the draft that year.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
Like, Jackson and I got to the. We got to the airport and it's out where like, soon as you walk in to the airport and you gotta. You're staring forever and you're like, oh, we're gonna make it. But, you know, you made through it just fine in time. But yeah, that was as long as I've ever seen it there.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah.
Brent Rollins
I can't imagine that it was crazy because fly anytime soon.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah. TSA PreCheck was. Was closed. But because I've flown so much, we have the, you know, the sky priority and the stuff that you've earned over the years by being diamond and stuff and so you talk about, like a bad feeling. You're walking by hundreds of people, like, hundreds of people.
Brent Rollins
And you're like, looks, you're getting, you're
DP (Host/Analyst)
like this, you're like covering your eyes like, dude, I'm sorry, man. I. I know.
Brent Rollins
Did you wear a hoodie or something?
DP (Host/Analyst)
No, I just, I'm like, I had my hat and I like, pulled it down. I'm like, sorry.
Brent Rollins
Guys yell at you.
DP (Host/Analyst)
No, no. But, man, you felt bad because you literally. I walked to where the glass was past everybody. So you're outside and I walked to the. I was inside the glass of the lines already. So you felt, you felt.
Brent Rollins
Well, I was, I was actually curious when you said you had a fly and you had to go earlier because what is your normal routine on a normal. Let the world know that, what your normal routine is. Because it's, it's a little different than most, Most prepared humans. Go get a couple, get there an hour, hour and a half early. Couple hours early.
DP (Host/Analyst)
My wife really did us wrong because we had a 2 o' clock flight that we got there at, like, we left at 10. We got there at 11:15. I'm like, oh, my God. I was like, babe, what? Like, we can eat six times before the flight. So. So my rule, what Brent's talking about, my rule of thumb is I like to get to the gate when they're boarding. I don't like to get to the gate and wait. So if I get to the airport, like in that 50 to 45 minutes range before the flight, like, it's perfect because I have the pre check and the clear and all that stuff. And you get through and you go right on. Like, I'd rather get. I'd rather walk on than. Than wait. So. And it's okay if we run? If we run, it's fun. It's just burning calories. It's not that bad. But I don't love. I don't love race here.
Brent Rollins
Most people, yes.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Going, no, because. Because here's the thing. If you miss it, you just get another flight. Like, it's not that big of a deal. I mean, it's not really that. Like, there's always another flight at some point, but. So.
Brent Rollins
All right, so how much fun did you have watching the basketball this past weekend? Oh, are you looking forward to this weekend? This weekend of games? I have a friend.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I have a friend. And tell me if I think we need to get rid of this friend. I'm not going to name his name, Scott Mashburn, but he. I was Playing golf with him this morning. And I said, hey, man, did you fill out a bracket? And he was like, oh, no, no, no, I haven't. He was like, when does it start? I said, what? He go, when does the tournament start? I was like, ninja, I will slap you. Like, how? They're in the. They're in the. They're in the Sweet sixteen, doofus. And he didn't even know it started. I. I mean, the bracket is the most fun every year. Like, I, I. Dude, it's just. I don't know. It takes me back to my childhood. I love it. But Nicholas is currently in first for the Pollock family bracket. I'm in second. But he's got Arkansas. He's got Arkansas winning it.
Brent Rollins
Oh, I've got. He got the acuff.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yes.
Brent Rollins
A cuff Rod. I got that person.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I got Arizona winning it. So they'll face. They'll face early in the quarterfinals.
Brent Rollins
They play Thursday.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Yeah, they'll face Thursday. Do you watch the girls at all, by the way?
Brent Rollins
No, not till the very end. Because there's too many blowouts.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Is it. Is it? Because I have a daughter and I coach girls basketball, but I would hope
Brent Rollins
that that's the case. Yes.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Like, I don't mind watching the girls tournament. Like, I actually think it's kind of fun to watch. I think it's. It's more competitive than it used to. It used to be blowouts, like, all the seeds. So there's been some good games, but.
Brent Rollins
All right, so Arizona, Arkansas is the big one for you. Duke. St. John's is the big one in this house because the boys are tied.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Okay.
Brent Rollins
And I think Carson went St. John's Cameron went Duke, and Carson maybe had St. John's in the final Four. I think even I'm with.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I'm with Carson for the Johnny's. Now, listen, like, if you watch. If you watch them play Kansas, like, Kansas was literally like, okay, dude, shoot. Like, you can shoot all game long. They backed off of them and, like, go ahead and let it fly. And if they hit a few threes in a row, the way they play defense, they'll suffocate the piss out of you like a snake, like a boa constrictor. But, like, otherwise, it can be bad to watch them play the game. But I like the Johnny's, too. I'm with them.
Brent Rollins
I know it's Wednesday, and on Monday, we normally do the winners of the weekend, but to me, like, I. You gotta shout out Cornhusker Nation. The fact that I didn't realize this until they talked about it. That was their first ever tournament win. And they got two dose and that shot that Tanner took like off the wrong foot for one and then it goes completely basically almost in the basket. And then like all the Nebraska players look like it's like, okay, we lost.
DP (Host/Analyst)
That was in. It was in. It was. It was in. How about how. I would have said Iowa. So I mean Iowa, Iowa down like
Brent Rollins
now taking down Florida.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I'm not sure what we're doing, but like nine seconds left, down two and, and, and how great, how great was the play? And again, I'm a high school basketball coach, so I love watching the play design. But to hit that full speed, he was up the floor in two seconds for gosh sakes. Like, that's a really bad job by Florida.
Brent Rollins
Ungood job play that. Hey, if you're gonna take it, like let the. Here take the.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Keep the guy in front of you.
Brent Rollins
Yeah.
DP (Host/Analyst)
And then you could. The one guy was cut into the bucket to go get a two and he scoots back out, hits the three ball. And he was a good story too with his dad passing and. But like, man, the tournament just, God, so much fun. It just always delivers. So everybody jump on those games. I know you'll be watching.
Brent Rollins
Pelt called it corn versus crops. Iowa and Nebraska in the college basketball tournament. A lot of, a lot of the all power conference teams. I mean much like we're gonna keep seeing, I think in football, a lot of parallels with college basketball, but the games like this weekend, it's going to be as good as it gets, I think.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Strap on. You strap on your seat belts and cheer for the Wildcats. If you're a C ball, get ball fan. Cheer for my Arizona Wildcats this year.
Brent Rollins
I have them in the Final Four. I have all my final four teams still available or still I do as well. Still open.
DP (Host/Analyst)
I think most people do. I had Florida losing when they did, which was good.
Brent Rollins
Oh, you didn't pick. You picked somebody else. You didn't.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Remember I told, I told you I didn't like Florida's guard play. I just didn't. I didn't think they were good enough.
Brent Rollins
You were also on, on Gonzaga not being correct.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Gonzaga not good. In Michigan State being in the mix too. So like, listen, there's a lot left, but basically if you want to win the bracket, you got to win the final game. Like bottom line, like if it's anywhere close to it, whoever wins the final game, you get all those points that continue to carry over. But you know, this is not why Bracket probably right. This is not why you came to see ball get ball. But you still got some greatness tonight, okay? So be cheering for that Tommy Tuberville. Tommy Tuberville. Bill. That would change the game, I think, in a. In a very good way. And we'll see you guys next week
Brent Rollins
because, Bill, you could just call it the tubber. Bill.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Look at you. Look at you. So smart.
Brent Rollins
Feels like something Wes would come up with more so than me.
DP (Host/Analyst)
It does. Brent.
Wes (Co-host)
Brent Rollins actually kind of.
Brent Rollins
Kind of upset that you said that.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Vote for the T, Bill.
Wes (Co-host)
Thanks to everybody that's hanging with us in the off season. It's a grind. It ain't easy, but it's about to be springtime.
DP (Host/Analyst)
About to be the draft. Skippy.
Wes (Co-host)
We're fired up.
DP (Host/Analyst)
Y' all have a good fired up, baby.
Date: March 26, 2026
Host: David Pollack
Guests/Co-hosts: Brent Rollins, Wes
This episode dives into two major college football topics:
Alongside these pillars, the hosts weave in stories on recruitment, player movement, coach interviews, and the lighter side of March hoops in both men’s and women’s college basketball. Expect David Pollack’s signature, unfiltered takes, supported by Brent Rollins’ data-driven insights.
[01:56 – 09:44]
David Pollack is “all-in” on the proposed Transfer Portal Bill, expressing rare excitement about a piece of legislation:
"I haven't been this happy about a bill that I've seen as 'I Am the Student Athlete Act Bill.' ... I'm all in. This is the bill." (DP, 01:56)
Bill Details and On-Field Impact:
Brent Rollins’ Academic Emphasis:
"I think if you get recruited out of high school, you should stay at one school for two years. That way recruiting actually matters...and only get the fifth year to play if you graduate." (BR, 04:56)
Case Examples:
Pollack’s Rationale for Supporting Limited Movement:
"Player’s power isn’t taken away, their money isn’t taken away...it makes education a priority, which I think it should. 97% or 98% of these kids aren’t going to the league." (DP, 07:06)
Crackdown on Annual Portal Games:
"If you put your name in the transfer portal, that counts. No renegotiating every single year...that’s going to promote the game to be dirty, to be backdoor deals. No, I’m out." (DP, 08:34)
Audience Engagement:
Pollack invites debate:
"If it’s something you don’t like, I’d love to know why you don’t like it." (DP, 09:27)
[11:14 – 24:23]
“When he played in the playoff…I was literally like, he didn’t lose to Miami in the fourth quarter—he ran out of time.” (DP, 12:12)
“What he did against Tennessee… Ole Miss was super clutch… he’s gone to another level.” (DP, 14:34)
Over 100+ dropbacks in 4Q, 54% completion, 7 YPA, 5/2 TD/INT.
“A lot of big time throws for Gunner Stockton, but...could you see a world where that’s three, potentially even four playoff quarterbacks this year?” (BR, 16:08)
Levitt, Maier, and Dante Moore get honorable mentions; Maier’s early-season heroics highlighted but not as consistent later.
“If Gunner doesn’t elevate, Georgia doesn’t have a chance to win a national championship.” (DP, 20:30)
[27:11 – 37:00]
“When you go see assistant coaches, and you look at their wives…that is the ultimate—do you have the mouthpiece?” (DP, 29:14)
“Is that as real and honest as it gets? Like, in the world of NIL, in the world of players doing the same exact thing—money calls, you gots to go.” (DP, 31:13)
“O’Leary: We want our guys to be a bunch of ants…You don’t want to be cockroaches.” (DP re-telling, 35:55)
[37:00 – 39:43]
[39:43 – End]
Personalities:
Final Encouragement:
“If you want to win the bracket, you’ve got to win the final game…” (DP, 48:39)
Closing Quote on the Transfer Bill:
“Tommy Tuberville. Tommy Tuberville Bill. That would change the game, I think, in a very good way.” (DP, 49:08)
“I would sign this thing into action right now if I could.” (02:47)
“You can nerd out and get any number you want in the history of mankind [at PFF].” (11:47)
“His season... started off rocky, got really, really on solid footing, but it ended rocky. ... If Gunner doesn’t elevate, Georgia doesn’t have a chance to win a national championship.” (20:30)
