B
He had fun for a few days and then decided to go back home.
A
You're doing. So wait, you're doing. You got to show them the iPad. You're. So you're simultaneously managing the shots, and you're gonna kind of pay attention enough.
B
You know, it's usually it's normal for, like, a dishwasher to be also serving your food.
A
So I just went from the ESPN desk where there's like, four floors of magic. I'm like, who won in 1982? Third round instant there.
B
Yeah.
A
Back to. Back to real life.
B
If you ask me a stat, it's gonna take me 10 minutes back to real life.
A
Okay, but like. Okay, but this is kind of interesting, right? Like, your experience over here for the first time.
B
Yep.
A
Like Wimbledon. Queue of things, dog. And foxing it. Credentialing, you know, going to see drinks with Eisenbud. Like, you're. You're. You're like. You're, like, properly ripping it. It's.
B
It's been really fun. Well, it's. Speaking of ripping it.
A
Oh, you guys did the fucking Jack the Ripper tour?
B
We did the Jack the Ripper Tour, yeah.
A
Okay, can you. Can you explain that to us?
B
So Mike and I, on the way over, we were looking at experiences we could do on Airbnb, and there was a Jack the Ripper tour. Yeah, we basically, we met up with this guy named Russell who claims that he's. He's solved the. The crime of who. Jack the Ripper.
A
Can you explain, like, the. Like, I don't. I. I know the name, but I don't know that I know the details of, like. So, I mean, the Ripper magoo.
B
Yeah. I mean, there we go. He was. He. He was a bad dude back in, like, the late 1800s. He's like one of the first serial killers in London.
A
I was about to say misunderstood or bad dude. Sounds like a bad dude.
B
He's a bad dude. He was a very bad dude. But Russell basically took us around this, like, block, and he's showing us these different. I mean, the sites of these murders.
A
Like, kill sites.
B
Yeah. And then kind of explaining the history and could he be making it up? I mean, I didn't. I didn't fact check him. I'm just assuming he's. He's telling me what you know. He's telling me the truth.
A
You don't fact check me when I say wrong stuff either.
B
And then at the end, he. He. He basically crafts this really cool story throughout the whole tour. And then at the end, he reveals who he's found out to be Jack the Ripper, which, I won't spoil it here. You've got to take the tour on Airbnb, but, I mean. And then he gives you a book, and he gave Mike a signed book and. Really? Yeah. If you want, we. We did a little recap video. We'll. We'll put it up on socials in the next couple days.
A
I mean, that's pretty fun.
B
It was so fun. It was so cool. And you get to see London, like, in this way that it's new, but he's taking you back in time to, like, 1800s. It's awesome. It's really cool.
A
That's pretty cool.
B
Yeah, it's awesome.
A
I like that. There was also tennis.
B
There was some tennis. Yes.
A
Draper was still. We started calling Jack the Ripper. Oh, get back.
B
Get well next year.
A
Speaking of gorgeous jawlines, though, Berrettini, Dimitrov.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Bone Structure All Stars. I'm gonna play in round three.
B
I'm excited. I can't even just. I mean, social. Sophie's gotta be pumped.
A
Beside herself. Heart aflutter. My wife is. They. They. My wife's like, you got some tickets for Saturday? I mean, just gorgeous. No, I don't want to undersell their stories, though. Like, with their phone structures. Baratini. I mean, in it, playing great beats. Feast beats. Walrinka. Like we said in the draw show, this is like a real, real deal. Dimitrov's match, to me, was the story of the day at Wimbledon. What he went through last year, obviously, the torn peck, two sets up on center, you know, just not what you ever want to see in a sporting Event needs a wild card this year. Gets back into the tournament, wins his first round, up in a match, close the roof again, come back on, beats Mensheek in four sets, like. And you could just see, like all of the stress, emotion from the last year was just trying to fall out of his face after he won that match. It was just beautiful. And he played borderline perfect the last 20 minutes of that match to break back hits, you see, and one handers are just cooler. He's the last one rip one hander. Yeah, but he had two just darts to break back and then was laying down chips coming in at weird times. It was like, can someone play vintage? Yeah, he kind of plays vintage, but it was fantastic. I think he's, he's earned. He's earned a lot of like around tour, you know, and also like credit to Wimbledon. Because you choose the right wild cards, you tend to get great storylines. They've chosen some good ones. Dimitrov, a guy by the name of Gordon vanisovich, won in 2001, beat some jackass kid, third round. But I digress. But that's just going to be. It's a great match. I'm happy to see people who have gone through it with injuries get another look at the basket. They both love it here at Wimbledon. They've both been very good here at Wimbledon. Berettini, a final. Dimitrov, former semifinalist. Beat Murray here actually, one year. Pretty sweet. Zverevrol. I thought he looked great. I think it's the best he's looked on grass. We had him on the desk today and he said it's the most confident he's ever been at Wimbledon. It hasn't been a great tournament for him. Never made it past the fourth round. But, you know, I was. Someone's like, can I still say congratulations for Olin Garros or are you in Wimbledon? He goes, you can say congratulations for that forever. Like, he's, you know, he's. He's got a nice little. Kind of feels like he's levitating in your room right now, but good for him. Fritz rolled. You know, I don't know that we've learned anything new about, about Taylor. Fritz Lajevic at 153kipson, who had a great first round win. He wasn't able to actually serve that well. I should probably ask someone who knows, Dean. Yes. Yeah. Wasn't able to serve that well today. So, you know, did we learn anything from Fritz the first two rounds? Did we know he was really good on grass coming In.
B
Yes.
A
Did we know that he would most likely beat 153 and 113 in the world? Yes. Is he probably going to beat Sonico next round? Who won in five?
B
Yes.
A
Does it start in earnest when he has to play the winner of foe and Bublek? Yeah, but he's been great. I mean, he's really good at always being a professional. Like you're not worried about something getting squirrely on him early in a tournament if he's supposed to take care of business, you know. So I still think he's a favorite on the bottom half of the draw. I like him that much on grass. He's won more grass court matches than anyone on Earth since 2020. Fun stat. Means he plays way more like Novak. Only plays 1 million Carlos, you know, that whole thing. And that's not an accidental stat. So foe gets through.
B
Foe.
A
I mean, if he was sitting right here, he'd probably tell you, play like a bomb in the first set.
B
Hmm.
A
Wasn't great. Kind of had to just grind and slop his way through. Finally found a little bit of form in that fourth set. Snuck it in with like 30 or 40 minutes of daylight left. So he's played three days in a row because his first round match got suspended. Darkness had to come back and play a set. Had to come back today and play a match 30 or 40 minutes away from that sunset. If you have to play tomorrow and you win, then you're playing five days in a row. And the total time on court is. Hasn't been that much for him. But the mental stress of going to bed, knowing you have to wake up and play a match, going through warm ups with those jitters, knowing you have to play a match five days in a row, there's some mental stress. He will. He will enjoy that day off tomorrow. Hodar gets through against Kunya Busta. Demon rolled Manarino. That was a great win. Kaboli goes through. Rbakana absolutely rolled Katie McNally. I like Katie McNally a lot. Mike would say something here. You can just say like Cincinnati or something.
B
Yeah, super Cincinnati.
A
There you go.
B
Yeah, that was great.
A
I couldn't. I could hear the enthusiasm in your voice. Matty Keys looked really good. Maddie keys Anna Samova, third round and Samova gets nail biter against Ken. And she was getting a little chippy in the third set. Kind of figured it out. Played a great breaker. I think she won. I don't know. It was a lot to a little. But she. She looked good. But Maddie Keys, normally when you see someone 26 in the world, you're like, oh, she wins last week. You know when she won Australia, won small tournament the week before. Cruised into Australia. That's a blockbuster third round. There's going to be a lot of pace. There's not going to be a lot of subtlety. Those balls are going to get absolutely smoked. Like they are going to be crushing every shot. Whoever gets on that front foot first. Yala takes out Maya Joint. Oh, my gosh.
B
Yeah, I was a little scared at the beginning.
A
Yeah, it was joint play. Started playing well again. I was like, okay. Is the. The secret to playing well? I don't know. Playing goats first round. No. Scuba gets through in three sets, 62 in the third. She's a real contender at this tournament. When Berlin beat Pula a couple of weeks ago. You ready for side of the day?
B
I'm ready.
A
26. Bueller. Bueller could be anything. Like, you should know, esvotek has made 26 consecutive Grand Slam third rounds.
B
Wow.
A
Pretty good. Means you've been good for a long time.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Means you don't have a ton of off days.
B
No.
A
And some news late in the day. Venus playing mixed doubles. Friday. Venus and Serena. Show goes on. There was concern about the knee. Happy fourth of July. Here's Venus and Serena.
B
Oh, man.
A
How about them? I'm pumped. Yeah, it'll be. It'll be good. I mean, you knew Serena like, short of something that was like, shown on a scan that she could have made much worse.
B
Yeah.
A
It's gonna try to be there with. With Venus to play some of the stats. They're 40. Was it 45 and three all time at Wimbledon. And they don't practice doubles. No. 14. They won 14 majors together.
B
Oh.
A
As like hobbyists in doubles.
B
Yeah.
A
By the way, three Olympic gold medals together. Like, like, it's. It's pretty. It's pretty insane. But it'll be really cool to see them on court together. We never know if there's a guarantee of. Of another you. You'd think that this means that they're probably going to play at the US Open also. I would hope so. That would seem to make sense. New York would certainly be appreciative, but.
B
Oh, no. Good day.
A
Tennis. Not a lot of kind of upset specials outside of Grigor. I mean, you. If. If you don't. If you're not happy in that Dimitrov story, didn't kind of tug at the heartstrings a little bit. You're an. Yeah, yeah. Just plain and simple. That was a great result for him. But you know what? You're not. We thank you for watching Served Brought to you by ServiceNow. We will see you tomorrow.
