What's up Chuckers? Producer Mike Here this is Served 5 Setter, a weekly roundup of all things racket sports. Five stories in ten minutes or less. But before we get into it, please hit subscribe on YouTube and give us a follow on your favorite audio service so you can stay up on All Things Served. We greatly appreciate and love the support. That said, Today is February 20, 2026 and here's what we got for you. Acapulco Goes Vegetarian, Bros And Boats, ayala mania and $10 million for ping pong. But first, we are starting with a major shift for the WTA. Jessica Pegula has been tapped to lead a new 13 person tour architecture Council. The heavy hitting group includes stars like Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka. This panel is tasked with recommending changes to the calendar, ranking rules and player requirements to combat burnout. While any overhauls wouldn't hit until 2027, one tournament isn't waiting to fix prize money. The credit one Charleston Open has voluntarily doubled its purse to a record 2.5 million for 2026. It's a historic milestone, making it the first standalone WTA 500 to match prize money of a men's 500 event. In a press release, Ben Navarro, the owner of the Charleston Open and father of current WTA world number 19 Emma Navarro, said, this women's tennis is delivering at a very high level right now, from the quality of competition to the engagement from fans. And this investment reflects that. Offering equal prize money is about respecting the players and the work they put in and aligning the tournament with the value of the game. Onto set number two, where the ATP 500 in Acapulco is serving up a strict new policy for next week. No meat in the player's restaurant. No, this isn't some trendy lifestyle choice. It's a total defensive play against potential testing errors. The organizer said in a player memo this week that the action was taken to minimize the risk of contamination with prohibited anti doping substances. This is a direct result of the increasing number of players getting popped for eating meat contaminated with Baldenzone, a steroid fed to livestock in certain regions that can trigger a positive drug test. Just this week, the ITIA officially cleared three South American players with a no fault or negligence ruling after they proved they consumed contaminated meat at an event in Colombia. Onto set number three. And it's been a strange week in the desert. While the WTA 1000 in Dubai was supposed to be the crown jewel of the month, what's not happening on the court seems to have been the main headline. As of the quarterfinals, we have seen a staggering 24 players withdraw or retire from the tournament. The latest casualty was top seed Elena Rybakina, who retired mid match on Wednesday. She was caught on the mic telling her trainer this.

No, just like sick, like just for the nourishment. You haven't had anything this morning? No, no, I ate, but in the morning it was just head to head. I didn't sleep well from yesterday, so

I'm going to stop y now. Meanwhile, in Qatar, the men are having a relaxing fishing trip. Seriously? Yonik Center, Carlos Alcarez, Andre Rublev as well as Danil Medvedev were spotted rocking traditional garb and pulling in some fish. Check it out. And while they're brewing out on the boat, some news broke from an Italian publication, Gazzetta Dello Sport, that both Jannik center and Carlos Alcaraz are hauling in a reported $1.2 million each in quote promotional fees. To put that in perspective, the eventual winner of this ATP 500 event will take home about $529,000, while the runner up gets just over 285k. Basically, these guys made double the winner's checks before they even stepped on court. I guess catching a fish is a lot more relaxing when you've already caught the bag for set number four. Not all is lost in Dubai because Yala mania is officially in full effect. The UAE is home to nearly 1 million Filipinos and it felt like nearly every single one of them was there to see the 20 year old Alex Iyala pull off one of the biggest wins of her young career. Check it out. Iyala rewarded the love with a thrilling showcase, upsetting world number eight Jasmine Paolini in a straight set victory. This was Alex's third career top 10 win, but she did have to navigate some unique distractions, like a marry my son sign predominantly displayed in the front row. After the match, Alex gave the fan a playful finger wag. Sorry mom, no dice. The fairy tale did not stop with the Paolini victory. Alex went on to beat Serana Kirstein to reach the quarterfinals. However, on Thursday, the run finally hit a wall against world number four, Coco Golf in a match that was a masterclass from The American, Alex fell 6062 Next stop on the Ayala 2026 World Tour, the Sunshine Double next month finally, we're moving from the big courts to some small ones. Major league table tennis is reportedly seeking 10 million in new funding to capitalize on a massive cultural moment. The sport is riding a wave of popularity fueled by the new movie Marty supreme starring Timothee Chalamet. Chalamet's portrayal of a table tennis phenom has given the sport a stylish Hollywood makeover in the MLTT is hoping to turn that cinematic hype into a permanent boom for the league. And this week, ping pong isn't the only paddle sport making moves. Tennis legend Andre Agassi announced that he is launching the World Series of Pickleball set to take place in Las Vegas. The team based competition is partnering with Team Marketing, the same group that turned the UEFA Champions League into a global powerhouse. Agassi says he wants to give the pickleball community a global stage and he's putting his money where his mouth is. Between Hollywood's obsession with ping pong and Agassiz entrenchment in pickleball, I would say the little racket sports are officially having a big money moment. Speaking of Marty supreme, that brings us to this week's tiebreak trivia. The question is the film starring Chalamet was just nominated for nine Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best actor. If the 30 year old leading man wins his first golden statue next month, he will be the second youngest to win best Actor and Oscar history. The youngest who is also a massive tennis fan famously kissed the woman who presented him his trophy. Who is that actor? Seriously, this dude is a huge tennis fan. And while you're there, check out the headlines that didn't make the cut this week, including what had world number one Carlos Alcaraz reacting like this.
