What's up Chuckers? Producer Mike here. Welcome to your Served 5 Center, a weekly roundup of all things racket sports. Five stories in 10 minutes or less. Today is December 5th and here is what we have for you. The queen of courts shuts down the Internet. Team USA keeps its captain, a former world number one coach, bets on American talent and the World cup of college tennis kicks off. But first, the exhibition calendar is officially stacked. If you thought tennis was sleeping until Australia, you are sorely mistaken. The off season exhibition calendar is heating up this weekend. Tomorrow night in Atlanta, the Atlanta cup brings us a blockbuster card. Marina Sabalenka vs. Naomi Osaka, followed by Ben Shelton vs. Nick Kyrgios. Then the circus heads north to New Jersey for a racket at the Rock on Sunday. That lineup features Jess Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, Carlos Alcaraz and one Francis Tiafo. Little programming note, big foe just stopped by the studio and will be on Tuesday's show. Check it out. And looking ahead to mid month, the World Tennis League moves to Bengaluru, India starting December 17 with squads featuring Medvedev, Sabalenka and hometown hero Rohan Bopana. All right, and on to set number two. Lindsey Davenport will officially remain the US team captain for the BJK cup through 2027. After signing an extension this week, Davenport's squad had a stellar 2025 campaign, reaching the finals for the first time since 2018 before losing to Italy. Davenport became the captain in 2024 as a player. She helped the U.S. win the event three times in 1996 and 1999 and 2000. In a statement, Lindsay said this it's an incredible honor to serve as U.S. billie Jean King cup captain and I'm thrilled and humbled to continue doing it, especially during such an amazing time for women's tennis in America. Schedule for the 2026 has been announced with qualifying rounds returning to the traditional home or away ties in April. Now to a fascinating coaching move on the men's side. American rising star Nasheesh Bazvarati is has hired Jill Savara. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Savara is the tactical mastermind who spent eight years guiding Daniil Medvedev. The duo won a US Open title and captured the world number one ranking during their partnership. This is a massive endorsement of boss Ferretti's potential. The young American who cracked the top 100 this year is known for his high tennis IQ, a perfect match for Savora's chess match style of coaching. Many are wondering if this partnership will make its debut later this month at the next gen ATP Finals in Jeddah. Stay tuned and find out. Now on to set number four. And while the pros are playing exhibitions for money, the college kids are playing for national pride because that is obviously way better than money. The Master U BMP Paribas Championships, often called the World cup of college tennis, starts today in France. Team USA is chasing a dynasty looking for their sixth consecutive title. The American squad is absolutely loaded with talent, including Stanford's Shamir Banerjee and UNC's Reece Brandt Meyer. Notably absent from the US roster is two time defending men's NCAA national champion Michael Zhang. He had this to say recently on The Cracked Rackets YouTube channel.
