This week, we are going to explore the topic, “A Woman Reborn: Empowerment Beyond Addiction.” With Shanna Large- Reusch, LCMHC, MLADC a friend, a colleague and currently the Director of Substance Use Services for Riverbend Community Mental Health. Pamela and Shanna discuss some of the challenges women face today with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), the impact of increased services over the past 10 years and the immense opportunities women in solid recovery have to inspire and elevate themselves beyond their comfort zones and bring empowerment others in their family, community and circles of influence.

Shanna Large-Reusch, LCMHC, MLADC has worked in the Substance Use Disorder Field for over 15 years providing care for clients multiple levels of care including detoxification services, residential care as well as multiple outpatient therapy settings. She has been working as the Director of Substance Use Disorders, The Choices Program, at Riverbend Community Mental Health since July 2017. She has been part of restructuring and growing the treatment program to cover a full spectrum of services as well as being part of the building of the Merrimack County Recovery Court Treatment Program and the Concord Doorway. Shanna is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has served as a co-chair for the NH Governor’s Task Force on Treatment and on the Advisory Committee for AOD/SUD policies with New Futures. Shanna enjoys being part of the solution and is excited for the opportunity to be on the front lines of care for this high risk, high need population.
