I love this topic because shifting my mindset towards more abundance and satisfaction has been a game changer for me. Now, if you already think and feel through a prism of abundance, that's fantastic. But I like, I think a lot of us grew up with the idea that life was sort of a zero sum game, that things were limited, that I had to struggle for my piece of the pie and then protect it and maybe even feel guilty about it. That if I had a lot of something that automatically meant that someone else didn't have enough. Now this way of thinking causes tension and a feeling of lack of and sometimes guilt, which tends to make the squeezing and that sense of longing or self pity or self flagellation even worse. But in my 20s I began to study a way of looking at food that taught me many, many things about life. And one of the sayings that would get batted around in this philosophy was one grain, 10,000 grains, meaning from one grain nature produces thousands and thousands more effortlessly. That nature's economy was not only more abundant than the one I had in my head, but it was sort of magical and exponential. Life itself in the natural world is abundant. From the billions of bacteria in your gut to the hundred billion stars in the Milky Way alone. The sun is the size of more than a million Earths. But I don't even have to think in those extremes in order to perceive abundantly. Even when I simply consider what I have enough of, ways in which I feel satisfied, my brain switches to the abundance channel. And by thinking abundantly, I attract more good things and thoughts. Yes, we have issues. Yes, we need to continually learn and adapt. But the thing about switching my brain to one of satisfaction is that it helps me to feel engaged and creative and hopeful as opposed to afraid and tense and in lack. And we, I believe, need to actively generate feelings of hopefulness to pass on to future humans. It's the fuel of life. And you may feel like I'm not allowed to do that. That's taking up too much space, I'll get greedy. Well, I officially challenge you to challenge that thinking. I think that when we tune into satisfaction, we become more aligned with ourselves, our deepest power, and the creative solutions we need in order to move into the future. Satisfaction gives me ground to stand on emotionally and psychologically. And if nothing else, it feels good. As the holidays draw near, the pace of life can start to pick up more plans, more pressure, more to think about. You deserve mental health care that works with you, not against your budget. Around the holidays, I always try to give gifts that make real life a little easier and a little more restful. That's so sleep magic, right? Helping someone wind down at the end of the day. So this year, the gift I keep coming back to is Quince bedding. Their bedding is soft and crafted to last and made from premium materials like European flax linen and organic cotton. And the linen sheets are what did it for me. They are soft and breathable and somehow look great whether I've just washed them or actually bothered to iron them when the nights turn frosty. My own setup and the one I love gifting is the linen sheets with the quince quilt on top. The sheets keep the temperature right where I want it, and the quilt adds that warm, textured layer that instantly makes my bed the coziest place in the house. And as a gift, it feels thoughtful without being over the top. The quality rivals luxury brands that charge two or three times as much, but because Quince partners directly with trusted factories and skips the middlemen, you get that same level of craftsmanship at a much friendlier price. Give a gift they'll actually use and love with quince. Go to quince.com sleepmagic for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too.
