Okay, Tonight, Falling asleep Fast As a hypnotherapist, I have studied ways to help people relax. And there is a set of techniques called inductions that are all designed to get into your subconscious mind into a state of hypnosis, which for our purposes, leads to sleep. In fact, the state that we naturally slip into before proper sleep is called a hypnagogic state. And the techniques I use bring that about pretty quickly. And within any hypnotist toolkit are not only inductions, but what we call deepenings. Deepenings are designed to make the relaxation.

Also pretty quickly. So tonight I'm going to be Using some of those techniques to help you fall asleep really deeply and quickly. And as always, all you have to do is show up and let me do the work. So get yourself into a safe and comfortable position.

And let's begin. Allow your eyes to close easily and gently and just bring your awareness to your breath. It feels nice to come home to.

Now, normally, we would move our awareness.

Into the eyes now and do our little eyelid fake out the wiggling of the eyebrows. But tonight we're going to do something slightly different.

I'd like you to bring your awareness up into your eyes like normal. But from here, I'd like you to.

Imagine that your whole body is relaxing.

Just by bringing your awareness to your eyes.

The message is being sent through your brain, down through your torso, all the way down into your feet to let go and relax. And you notice that you are beginning to relax, everything going deeper and deeper.

Now, in a moment, I'm going to.

Ask you to open your eyes. And then close your eyes. And upon closing your eyes, you will take yourself even deeper. So now I'd like you to open your eyes. Good. And now close your eyes. And as your eyes are closing, you are going even deeper into this lovely, comfortable, peaceful place. Good. Your muscles softening, releasing, letting go. And now we're going to do the same thing again. In a moment, I'm going to ask.

And as your eyes close, you will take yourself twice as deep as you are right now. So open your eyes. Good. And now close your eyes. And as they close, your whole body moving even deeper into this melty, warm, delicious relaxation. Good. And now, one final time, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to open and close your eyes again. And as you close your eyes, you will take yourself twice as deep as you are right now. So open your eyes.

Now close your eyes. And as you feel them close, your whole body is drifting so easily, so comfortably and so deeply into relaxation. Your body feeling supported by the mattress, your mind softening, your arms feeling heavy, your head feeling heavy, your pelvis feeling heavy, and your legs feeling heavy. And as you listen to my voice or any sound going on around you, those sounds simply pass right through your body, taking you deeper and deeper. As you become aware of those sounds.

Mind and body Naturally respond to those words. And your body knows exactly what to do. As your muscles are softening and your breath is becoming deeper. You may even feel yourself drifting a little bit already. Imagine now that it is early evening and you're standing at the top of a hill. It has a gentle slope that will guide you slowly and safely down into a valley. It's a lovely evening. The sun has just set and the air is cooling off. Below you on the floor of the valley, you see a warm, golden glow. There's a cozy cabin by a softly flowing river. You hear the sound of the water, gentle and unhurried, moving like a lullaby through the valley. The cabin down below is a place of rest, of safety, of deep, deep sleep. In a moment. Moment. I'm going to count backwards from 10 down to one. And with every number that I say, you will go deeper and deeper into relaxation, just as you are going now. And the closer you get to the cabin, the more relaxed you will become. 10. You take a step forward, feeling the earth steady beneath your feet. The cabin is a little closer now, and your shoulders are dropping and your breath is deepening. You feel relaxed. 9. You take another step. The trees whisper in the breeze. The stars are coming out. Your mind is beginning to settle, as if a light mistake is softening your thoughts. 8. The closer you're getting to the cabin, the more relaxed you're becoming. The windows of the cabin are glowing from the soft, golden light inside. You feel relaxation spreading gently through your chest.

Your arms feel loose. Your hands are relaxed. Your jaw feels relaxed. The sky is a deep midnight blue. And the closer you get to the cabin, the more every muscle is relaxing. 6. You hear the river now, the slow, gentle trickle over smooth stones. The sound of the river is washing away the day, taking you deeper and deeper. 5. You're halfway to the cabin, and with every step, you are going deeper. As you relax and let go, the air feels softer. Your mind feels quieter. 4. The soft light in the windows of a cabin is beckoning you forward. The moon is rising, and you know when you reach that door, you will drift even deeper and deeper into relaxation.

1. You reach out and touch the doorknob. And as you turn it, you go even deeper into relaxation. You open the door and step inside. The warm light of a small glass lantern greets you, flickering across the wooden floor, and in the corner you see the most inviting bed, piled high with pillows and covered in a warm, heavy quilt. You pull back the quilt and lie down, the mattress welcoming you, and you tuck yourself. The lantern goes out and the room is dark. You close your eyes. You hear the sound of the river just outside the window, flowing gently, steadily, like the rhythm of your breath. And with each breath you are drifting deeper and deeper into comfort and ease. Your body knows what to do. Your mind is letting go. Relax, you are safe. Relax, you are safe. Relax, you are safe.
