Build and maintain defensible space, especially zone zero within five feet of the home. Harden homes with fire resistive roofs and siding, ember resistant vents, and tempered or double pane windows.

He also explains how technology supports smarter operations, from Alert California cameras and FireGuard satellites to FIRIS, helicopter command platforms, and citizen tools like Watch Duty.
