Pastor Robert
Hey, family. Before we get into the message, Taylor and I wanted to invite you into something big happening right here at Social Dallas. God has given us an incredible 90,000 square foot building and we're believing for $6 million to break ground to make it home.
Pastor Taylor
Yes, and every dollar moves dirt. If this ministry has ever blessed you or spoken to you in any season, would you prayerfully consider partnering with us? Your generosity, it helps us turn this building into a home where people will meet Jesus for generations.
Pastor Robert
Absolutely. You can give or click the link in the description because we are almost home.
Worship Leader
Welcome to Vision Sunday. You look great. As a matter of fact, you look planted. Today isn't just any Sunday. It's a glimpse of what's ahead in a celebration of how far we've come. But before we talk about the future, let's take a look back. Did you know that our future home first opened its doors on May 19, 1995 as the AMC Grand 24? At the time, it was the biggest movie theater in the country. It had 24 massive space screens, thousands of seats. In an experience unlike anything Dallas had ever seen, its slogan was, it's going to be big. And they were right. Because today, 30 years later, with Social Dallas on the way, we know it's going to be even bigger.
Pastor Robert
Somebody say it's gonna be big.
Assistant Pastor
Come on.
Pastor Robert
Will somebody give God some praise on this Vision Sunday?
Assistant Pastor
This ain't a regular Sunday.
Pastor Robert
Come on, this is Vision Sunday.
Assistant Pastor
Come on, this is Sunday. Where we gonna celebrate all that God has done. But we still know that eyes have not seen, ears haven't heard Neither has it entered into the heart of man the things that God has already pre for us. But somebody give God the best praise that you got.
Pastor Robert
How you feeling, Social fam? Can you stay standing? I know your feet hurt, but you what? Don't shoot. Welcome to Vision Sunday. How you feeling? Today is a significant day in the life of our church. Every single year we pause on Vision Sunday to celebrate all that God has done. Because I don't want to ever take what he's done for granted. But we also look forward with faith filled anticipation to what he's about to do. So you picked a good Sunday to have your face in the place. Come on, somebody look at somebody next to you. Say you're good to be here today. It's good to be here today. I didn't know where I was going with it. It's good to be here today. And we're going to do something we do every single Sunday. This has been the Year that we are planted in the house of the Lord. So we're going to declare our verse of the year. Y' all ready to read it? Come on, y'. All. We don't have many more Sundays left. Let's read it with all the enthusiasm that we got. Psalm 92, verses 13 through 15. Come on. 1, 2, 3. Those the house of the Lord they shall steal, they shall be to declare he is my rock. Y' all sound good. Y' all sound good. Remain standing. This is Vision Sunday, so we're going to take a little pause on our seat. We've been in a series called God Hates Blank, so I'm going to finish it, if it's all right with y'. All. I'm going to finish the series next Sunday. Is that cool? And since it's Vision Sunday, I want to talk about visions, so don't miss next week. But today I want us to look at the book of Habakkuk. The Old Testament book? Yeah, it sounds like a disease, but it's in the Bible. Habakkuk, chapter two. I want to look at verses one through three and look at what this prophet declares. I will take my stand at my watch post and station myself on the tower and look out to see what he will say to me and what I will answer concerning my complaint. And the Lord answered me. I can shout on that right there that we have a God, that when you cry out to him, he will answer. He may not always say the thing you want him to say. Oh, somebody ever single don't like that. But he will give you an answer. And I love that Habakkuk got an answer. Write the vision, make it plain on tablets so he may run who reads it? Verse 3 for me. For still the vision awaits its appointed. It's appointed. It hastens to the end. It will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for will surely come. It will not delay. For still the vision awaits its appointed time. Its appointed time. It's Vision Sunday. I might preach long today. I want to tag a title to this text and talk to you from this thought. It's about time. It's about time. Come on, look at your neighbor, whichever one you like the best. Say neighbor. Oh, neighbor, it's about time. Oh, that. No, that neighbor was bougie. Find another neighbor. Find another neighbor. Come on, say other neighbor. I'm telling you it's about time. If you believe God's gonna speak, give us some praise up in here. Father, have your way. Speak today. Amen. You may be Seated in the presence of the Lord. It's about time. Social fam. I have never been the biggest fan of viral social media challenges. I never have. I'll just tell you that about your pastor. I've never been a fan of them because I'm generally the last one to find out about them. Everybody will be talking about it. I have no clue what they're talking about. And then I. I'm not really going to participate in it once I find out about it. Now, I can be peer pressured into it, but I'm generally not going to participate in it. And some of you are like, why is that? Well, I think it's because I have a life. I have a life. You want to talk about a challenge? I am living life. I am doing the life challenge. How many know life has enough of its own challenges? What challenge you doing? The Raising 3 Kids challenge and trying to keep my sanity. That's the challenge I'm in right now. But there is one viral social media challenge, y', all, that recently. I'm obsessed with it. I am obsessed with this challenge. I don't know. Maybe it's the frustrated musical artist on the inside of me, but every time I see this particular challenge, I watch it. I watch it. I can't stop watching it. My eyes are glued to my phone every time I see this challenge because I want to see, are they gonna hit it or are they gonna miss it? Are they gonna get on the mark or are they gonna miss it? Ooh. Do you know what challenge I'm talking about? It's the Whitney Houston drum challenge. Some of y' all aren't confused. I'm gonna educate you. I'm gonna educate you. This challenge is incredible because it starts off playing just a snippet of her iconic I will always love you song. And it starts off at the place.
Assistant Pastor
Where it says, and above all else, I wish you love don't play with.
Pastor Robert
Me on Vision Sunday. I will sing all over this theater. And then there is a pregnant pause that feels like an eternity when you're doing the challenge. And then there is one drum hit, and you have to hit it right on the drum hit before she sings her amazing. And I will always love you. I love that challenge. And I know what some of y' all are thinking because, you know, your pastor is an illustrative pastor. So you thinking that I'm gonna do the challenge here today on Vision Sunday. No, I ain't got time. I don't have time. I'm not gonna do it. First of all, I don't even have a drum set to do it, so I can't do the challenge. Okay. Even if I had a drum set, even if I had one, it would have to be branded because I care about aesthetics. It would have to have an SD logo on front of the drum, and then I would have to have a drumstick there. So I'm not finna do. Oh, well, since it's here, should I try? All right. Got the music. Do y' all know how long I practice? And I still miss.
Assistant Pastor
I was up all last night, hit.
Pastor Robert
It every time, got on stage and missed a moment, man. Maybe next service. Do you know what I love about that challenge? I love that that challenge requires no vocal ability. You don't have to study music theory to do that challenge. Because that challenge really has nothing to do with talent. Everything to do with timing. Most people go too early, just like I did, or they go too late. But very few people can hit it right on time. You can know the song. You can know the lyrics. You can have it downloaded on itunes, and still, when it comes to it, you will miss a moment because you have to hit the drum at a specific time. It's not about your talent. It is about your time. Do you know the problem with most people in life? It's not that they have a lack of vision. It's that they have the wrong timing. It's not a vision problem. Most people have a timing problem. You understand that you can have a God idea and execute it in the wrong season. And because you executed the God idea in the wrong season, it will not come into fruition, and you'll be blaming God. How come it isn't happening? And God said, yes, I gave you the vision, but it was the wrong time. You can have the right heart and still miss the moment.
Assistant Pastor
You can have a promise from from.
Pastor Robert
God and still miss it. If you are out of time because vision and time are connected, you cannot separate time from vision. Oh, I call this vision Sunday. I should have called it Vision and Time Sunday, because vision and time are inextricably connected. He said, the vision awaits and appointed. So I can't just be concerned with the vision that God has given me. I must always ask myself, when is the time God wants me to move on this vision? Because vision and time are connected. I see vision and time.
Assistant Pastor
Whew.
Pastor Robert
Like two jump ropes in the hands of a sovereign God. Who's playing double Dutch. Oh, some of y' all, you old enough to remember. You remember double Dutch?
Jose (Testimony Speaker)
Yeah.
Pastor Robert
That's How I see vision and time. I see vision and time. Like double dutch. And if you remember, you can't just jump in anytime you want it. No, you gotta watch the two ropes from a distance, and you gotta rock and move before you ever jump in. Oh, see, I'm finding out who the real double dutches are. See, you can't just rush in there. You gotta get the rhythm and move a little bit.
Assistant Pastor
That's why God will always move on.
Pastor Robert
Somebody whose life is already in motion.
Assistant Pastor
He doesn't move with stagnant people. People that are ready saying, God, what.
Pastor Robert
Do you have for me next?
Assistant Pastor
You got to start rocking before you step into it. And then all of a sudden, at the right moment, then you move in, and you're watching for vision and time. Vision and time.
Pastor Robert
Vision and time. If you got the right vision at the wrong time, you'll miss the rope. If you got the wrong vision and the right time, you still get tripped up because vision and time are connected. Look at your neighbor. Say it's about time. Now tell them. Wake them up. Say it's about time. Ooh. That's why I love I will always love you. Because that song is a master's class about vision and time. I'm going to preach that song and preach the challenge. It's a master's class on vision and time. Most of you will be surprised to find out that Whitney Houston sang the song, but she didn't write the song. In other words, she gave voice to the song, but she was not the visionary of the song. Isn't it interesting? You connect her with I will always love you, but she just gave voice to somebody else's vision. Often it is the person that gives voice to the vision that will amplify it and take it further. She was just the voice of the song. She was not the visionary of the song. Guess who was the visionary of the song? Dolly Parton. Look at you. You ain't safe. Dolly Parton was the visionary of the song. She wrote I will always love you. But what blew my mind was the impetus for. For Dolly writing the song. Dolly was not writing that song about a man she was in love with. That song was not about her, boo. It was about her boss. Yeah, Dolly had a boss that gave her an incredible opportunity, gave her a job, put her on tv, opened up doors for her. But Dolly had a vision for when she came to Nashville of what her life was going to be, and she knew it was time to transition from that journey. She said, it is time. Some of y' all been there before. It is time for me to leave. And she kept trying to talk to her boss, saying, it's time for me to leave. But he didn't want to have the conversation. So in her pain and her frustration, she went home and pulls out her pen and writes these words. If I should stay, I would only be in your way. And I will always love you. But I got to go. Goes into his office the next morning and says, I know you don't want to meet, but can I play you this song I wrote last night? And she starts playing I will always love you. And tears come down his face. And he says, that's the best song you've ever written. I guess you can go. Vision and time. Fast forward, years later, Elvis Presley hears I will always love you. And Elvis Presley wanted to do the song. The King, darling was hyped. She was like, I can't believe it. Elvis Presley wants to do my song. He's about to record the song. But the night before the recording, his producer and manager calls Dolly and says, hey, I just want to let you know that this is the King recording your song. And he demands 100% of your publishing. If he doesn't. Dolly said, I can't do that. He said, well, this is the way Elvis works. She goes, I can't give him the song that God gave me. The producer said, well, take it or leave it. She said, I'll leave it. Rejects Elvis. Everybody thought she was crazy. Everybody thought she lost her mind. Everybody thought she missed her moment. She thought she lost her mind. She thought she missed her moment. Everybody said, that's ridiculous. You don't turn down the King. But here's what I've learned. Obedience always looks ridiculous until it becomes miraculous.
Assistant Pastor
Oh, you gotta be willing to say.
Pastor Robert
No to some good opportunities. Cause you're waiting for a God opportunity.
Assistant Pastor
And sometimes you gotta tell some people, I'm gonna say no, because this isn't.
Pastor Robert
The right God for the bishop. Fast forward, Kevin Costner calls her, says, I got a movie coming out called the Bodyguard. I want Whitney Houston to sing your song. If Dolly says yes to Elvis, not only does she lose her publishing, we never get to hear Whitney sing the song ever. Because it's all about vision and time. Even when Whitney sang it, there was still a battle over the vision and the time. Not in church, but listen to it when you get to the crib. You ever notice how that song starts? It starts off in silence. There is no music for 44 seconds. It's just Whitney's voice. And then 44 seconds in, then comes the music. You understand? Every producer at that time said, you can't do that. You can't start a song acapella. You gotta have a band. You gotta have music. This will never work. Nobody will ever listen to this. And Kevin Costner said, would you just trust the vision? Would you just trust the time? Let her voice sing and put nothing behind it and then bring in the music at 44 seconds. Check me when you get to the crib. There is no music until 44 seconds. All you hear is silence and Whitney's voice. And it is the silence that precedes the 44 seconds that gives it power when the music comes in. And when I saw that it was 44 seconds of silence, 44 seconds before the music comes in, you know, my brain is wired to connect everything to the word of God. When I saw that 44 seconds, I saw Galatians, chapter four, verse number four. You remember what it says? But when the right time came, God sent his son, born of a woman.
Assistant Pastor
Under the law, so he could redeem you and I. That means God didn't pick a random.
Pastor Robert
Moment to split eternity and step into time. He knew the exact moment he was.
Assistant Pastor
Going to leave heaven and come to earth to redeem you.
Pastor Robert
I want to take a praise break.
Assistant Pastor
And thank God that he arrived at the right time. Some of y' all sitting there like you didn't have sin for him to die for, but you ought to thank God that your whole salvation was predicated on a God that knew the exact. He was born at the right time. He was baptized at the right time. He was betrayed at the right time. He went to to the cross at the right time. They be him at the right time. But three days later, at the right, he got up from the grave. And I want to thank God that he orchestrates everything after right?
Pastor Robert
It's about time. It's about time. It's not just your vision. It's about the time that the vision will come into the earth, slap your neighbor and say, I know this for you. I know this for you. If God knows. If God knows how to time the arrival of his son, how many know? He knows how to time your life. He knows how to time this church. He knows how to time every building we'll step into. And that's why I Love Habakkuk, Chapter 2. Because timing is not just a Whitney thing, it's a God thing. If you don't know the story about Habakkuk, he's a prophet Living in a moment that feels a lot like today. It's broken. He saw injustice, violence, corruption. He saw leaders that didn't fear God. He saw a nation that was drifting. And instead of sitting in apathy, Habakkuk cries out and says, God, what are you going to do about this? Are you going to let stuff stay like this? And I love God's response. He answered Habakkuk not with explanations, but with vision. He says, write the vision down. Because even though it seems. Seems slow, even though it feels delayed, even though you can't see the movement, I am still moving. And God tells him a line that has been in my head all week. The vision awaits its appointed time. In other words, vision has a timetable. Hmm. You don't just need God's. What? You need God's. When. And when vision and timing come together, purpose clicks into place. Social Dallas. I wanna tell you, on this vision Sunday, we are stepping into an appointed time. The things that God has done, the doors that he has opened, the opportunities in front of us, the building he's entrusted to us, this isn't random. This isn't luck. This is not coincidence. This is God's divine timing. So before I give you some exciting announcements and talk about where we're going, I want to pause and show you what God has been doing. Turn your attention to the screen.
Social Dallas Announcer
Hi, Social Family. Week after week, we've seen God restoring lives, building community, and transforming hearts. It's evident that he's moving here at Social Dallas. And today we want to pause and reflect on what he's done in this house. Remember, each number represents a life that's been changed.
Pastor Robert
We want to start off by focusing on our social serve team. This year alone, we've grown by over 50%. We have over 500 servant leaders dedicated.
Worship Leader
To building the vision of Social Dallas.
Pastor Taylor
Let's take a moment to celebrate every person that makes Sundays possible.
Pastor Robert
Thank you. Oh, we could do better than that.
Social Dallas Announcer
Four years ago, when Social Diagnosis Dallas launched, we started with one camera and one camera operator, which was Pastor Taylor. Fast forward to today. We have over 205,000 YouTube subscribers. Not only that, we also have 67,420 subscribers on Pando, which is an app that is dedicated to reaching people who are incarcerated. That means that the gospel is being spread all throughout the world. Now that is something to celebrate.
Jose (Testimony Speaker)
Connect.
Worship Leader
Groups are where we make a big church feel small. 1250 people have met week after week all over the VFW area, in homes, coffee shops, and online. This is where they found Community life is better when we do it side by side.
Social Dallas Announcer
This year alone we witnessed 1000 people make the decision to go public with.
Pastor Taylor
Their faith through water baptism.
Social Dallas Announcer
That's over 1,000 stories of life transformation. It was beautiful to watch men, women and children from all different backgrounds make.
Pastor Taylor
This decision to take the next step in their walk with Jesus.
Social Dallas Announcer
We end every service with the phrase, if you keep showing up, you keep growing up. The way we help people grow up is by providing free Bibles. This year we have given 1,805 Bibles putting the word of God into people's hands and into their homes. In social kids 297 children said yes to Jesus at Social Dallas. We don't believe we're just raising kids.
Pastor Taylor
We believe we are raising the next.
Social Dallas Announcer
Generation of believers that are going to change the world.
Worship Leader
In 2025, 3752 people have said yes to Jesus for the very first time. That's almost 4,000 people who are planted in the house of the Lord. It's proof that God loves the church and that God loves Dallas.
Assistant Pastor
I mean, come on, would you just open up your mouth and thank God.
Pastor Robert
For every single miracle. To God be the glory.
Assistant Pastor
I said to God be the glory. To God be the glory for the great things, for the magnificent thing, for the mind blowing things that he has done.
Pastor Robert
I never want us to get so used to the miraculous things God is doing in our church that we lose the awe, that we lose the wonder. One of the biggest things you have to fight for in a critical culture is your wonder. It's so easy to be cynical and be like, oh yeah, whatever, this is not normal. This is the Lord's doing. It is marvelous. In God. Every single stat that you saw on that screen, every number is connected to a name. It's connected to a person, that's connected to a story. It's connected to a miracle. And that's why we do what we do. We thank God for what's ahead. You can be seated. You can be seated. It's Vision Sunday and it's so evident that the hand of God is on our church and church. If that video shows all that God did just in 2025, if you're sitting in a church that is just four years years old, can you imagine what he's about to do next?
Assistant Pastor
Woo.
Pastor Robert
Elbow the person next to you, say, it's about time. It's about time. It's about time. Social family. We are four years old and God has taken us places that we could have never Imagined. And today on vision Sunday, Vision time Sunday. I want to share four major announcements that are going to define where we're going next. Four major announcements. The first one I want to start with is one that is very dear to my heart. It is something that has been in our hearts since we planted this church. We always wanted it to happen, but we had to wait for the right time. We declare here at social Dallas, we have house rules. We say we're a house of prayer. We write the future with our prayers. We say that we're a house of presence. When you come in here, you should encounter the presence of God. We also say that we're houseful for people, all kinds of people. You do know that God loves your hater. He loves your ex. I'm sorry. With a church that says God loves a blank. And you don't get to fill in the blank because God loves everybody. And so today, I want to start with this announcement. Announcement. It's huge. But before I give it to you, there's some people in the room that I need to stand up to help me give this announcement. If you're in the seventh grade, I need you to stand up. If you're in the eighth grade, I need you to stand up. If you're in. In the ninth grade, I need you to stand up. If you're in the 10th grade, I need you to stand up. If you're in the 11th grade, I need you to stand all the way up.
Assistant Pastor
If you're a senior this year, I.
Pastor Robert
Need you to stand up.
Assistant Pastor
I'm trying to get the church to get prepared for what I'm about to say, but I wanted y' all to stand up, stand firm. So they could know that in 2026, we are officially launching social you. Social youth. Social youth. We're believing that God is about to do something in the next generation. Social youth is going to be the place where the next generation is discipled, transformed, and encounters a living God. Somebody give him some praise in this place today. Let's go.
Pastor Robert
Just.
Assistant Pastor
Just the youth.
Pastor Robert
Stay standing, y'. All. Old people, sit down. I'm standing on this stage today because of encounters I had with God when I was your age. Wasn't anything different about me. I wasn't floating in my high school, reading the Bible every day. Same struggles, same temptations, same questions, Wondering God, can you really use me? And I came to tell you God has a purpose and a plan for your life that will exceed your wildest truth. Do you think I would have believed somebody if they would have came to my chemistry class in 10th grade and said, abrah, I know you asleep, but one day you're going to pastor a church where thousands of people come and encounter Jesus and you're going to rent out venues all over the. Do you think I would have believed them? I would have asked them, what are you smoking? And you should stop. I say that to tell every single one of you. You don't have a clue what God will do in you and through you. We waited for the right time to launch this. And next year, we prayed for parent. We're launching it next year. You going to gather at Gillies. It's going to be powerful. And I wanted you to hear it today because you matter. And hear me, you're not next. You're now. You're now. Come on, somebody give God some praise. Y' all can sit down. All right.
Assistant Pastor
I still got three more.
Pastor Robert
Somebody say it's about time. Number two, We're a house of prayer. We're a house of presence. We're a house for. For who? All kinds of people. You don't get to pick who you want in the blank. And because we're a house of people for people, because we're a house that wants to be a church. Hear me, that looks like a preview of heaven. I am so glad to announce that. That starting next year, every single Sunday, we will have the technology for live Spanish translation in our services.
Assistant Pastor
And live sign language in our services. Can I tell you why? Because the gospel evangelio asexual that the gospel is for every person, it's for every culture, it's for every language, for every tribe. Can I make an announcement on vision Sunday? This house is not about the name of social. It's about one name. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, somebody give him some praise today. Gloria.
Pastor Robert
Y' all didn't know I could do that. I'm sleeping on me. I would robbed it on my do as. You better get it. Somebody say it's about time. It's about time. Number three. Y' all good. Next year, we're stepping into a brand new rhythm as a house because we're a house of. Are you lost already? Prayer. House of presence. House for people. Prayer and presence. Many of you will know that. Let me go all the way back. We would have prayer meeting at Granada Theater. Place was packed. Six people, no worship team speaker, good playlist. Praying for God to move in this city. We believe in the power of prayer. We would have Tuesday night prayer, moved it to Wednesday night prayer we're always subject to the venues that we meet. So it's always been in our hearts to have consistent services every single Wednesday. A gathering every single Wednesday. And not just for prayer. We believe in discipleship. So, you know, it's been in our heart a long time to launch something called social studies. Not the one you had at school, but our version that would be in depth Bible teaching. And you could go deeper into the Word. But we've been praying in our hearts. Lord, give us an opportunity that we can meet every single Wednesday. We were waiting for the riot. So I'm so glad to announce, starting next year, we will have a Wednesday night gathering every single week of 2026.
Assistant Pastor
We got a midweek gathering where you can stay planted. And sometimes we'll be gathering to pray, and sometimes it'll be social studies. And we'll be diving in the word of God. And I promise you, as you're planted, watch how your life begins to flourish. Somebody say it's about time.
Pastor Robert
About time. Every single Wednesday at Gillies, we'll gather. Y' all want one more? You good? Let's look at this. If every single Wednesday we're gonna gather either prayer or social studies, Act Achilles. Let's talk about gillies for a moment. We love Gillies. It's given us consistent gathering place. But let's be honest, it's gonna be great for midweek. But let's be honest. Sunday, y', all, we out grew Gillies long time ago. I mean, come on. We're doing three services just to facilitate it. I've seen some of y' all lose the fruit of the spirit in the parking lot. I'm trying to do the benediction. Please don't leave. Forget you, Pastor. I'm trying to get out of here. Some of y' all late walked into the watch party room. All right. I guess it's Watch party today. We. We've. We've outgrown it. So we've been praying God, is it possible that you could open up a place that was big enough and we could get consistency every. Every single Sunday? And y', all, it's about so. I'm so glad to announce that starting 2026, the official home of social. By the way, this will be our last stop before we move into our permanent home.
Assistant Pastor
We have to trust God. Every Single Sunday of 2026, we will be right here at Texas Sis Cross Theater. We got plenty of room. Look around. Plenty of room to grow into this faith. So let me just prophesy. These ain't gonna Be empty seats next year. They gonna be filled with people encountering the presence of the living God. Cause it's about time. While you're shouting, we are doing kids. We'll have the four, five, six. We're not stopping at five years old. We're going all the way up on Sunday.
Pastor Robert
This is gonna be a place that from birth to a senior citizen, you'll be able to encounter power in the presence of Jesus. Somebody say it's about time. Oh, I gotta hurry. Y' all can be seated. Hear me? I'm going longer than I was supposed to go. Watch this. If this is the last stop before home. The last stop, 14 different venues. This is the last stop before home. How many of you on Vision Sunday would like to see what home is going to look like? I gotta hurry. But let's look at our current space. Let's look at our current space and what it looks like on the outside, y'. All. That is our current home. 10110 Technology Boulevard, Dallas, Texas. Because of your generosity last year, Vision Sunday last year, we cast a vision for the opportunity, opportunity to get that property because of Your generosity, raised 1.8 million. Over 1.8 million. Just a little over it. In 60 days to close on it. We closed. But you know, I like to give you straight up clarity. We closed. Amen. We got a mortgage. Bought it for $15.5 million. Still about 14 left on it. You clapping, you need to be sewing. No, watch this. It is going to be. We've already been meeting with architects. It's going to be $30 million to transform that theater 90,000 square feet into our future home. That's nothing to go. But it's time. But I want you to see what it's gonna look like. This is what it looks like right now. This is what it will be. Okay, you're not excited. Let's go to. Let's go to the lobby. This is what the lobby looks like right now. You walk in, there's dust, smells like Heineken and popcorn. Not big enough to meet. This is what it looks like now, y'. All. This is what it's going to be. Okay, one more. Y'. All. This is what the kids space looks like right now. Y' all laughing? I'm shouting. No, I'm shouting because it's about when that movie theater closed down at the right. That allowed us to make the purchase. It was never going to be a movie theater again. So even before we put in the offer, they already started doing demolition on the exact wing where our kids are going to be. So that's demolition stuff that we don't have to worry about because they already, the previous owners went before us as.
Assistant Pastor
If they knew we were about to.
Pastor Robert
Be in there and said, let's go ahead and get these walls out the way for them. But that's what the kids entrance looks like. Now here's what it's going to look like. That's what it's going to be. Best home. I said, that's home. And at the right, we'll step into that property. And I hope you know that it's. It's bigger than a building. A building is just a tool. It's a big about reaching people, having them encountered the presence of a real and living savior. And his name is Jesus. You can be seated. You can be seated. I'm so glad I'm not here by myself because Lord knows I could not do this by myself. I'm thankful for the incredible woman that stands not behind, but beside me. Help me thank God for Pastor Taylor and who she is to this house. Come on, y'. All. She is the heartbeat of this house. I love you. Thankful for you. Couldn't do this without you. Love you. And I know you're excited. And she's going to share what the vision is going to look like and how we can make that become a reality in a real, like, tangible way.
Pastor Taylor
There's. There's so much to say as I stand here today. It's. It's miraculous. We don't just say if you keep showing up, you keep growing up. We actually lived that out. And I think this is a picture of that. It's always been in our heart, social youth. I remember whenever we would put out quilts on the floor at Granada, and we'd bring goldfish and crayons and put the kids in the corner. And I was the kids pastor.
Pastor Robert
Cool.
Pastor Taylor
I also held the cameras. You know, it's just. It's insane. Insane to see what the Lord has done. We had no clue what was ahead. And today we're. We're standing in the middle of a miracle. And I think the Lord has allowed us and. And made us gritty so that we'll always be grateful for what we have. And so when you see that, I love it because right now we have a community that lives along a little. A creek on the other side in 10 tents. They don't have food. They're, you know, day in and day out. That's their life. And so yesterday on the vision Sunday weekend, to be able to go there and distribute food and to pass out Bibles and pray with people. We're already making a mark in that space, and we're going first. We're being the hands and the feet of Jesus because of your generosity. We're serving them before we're ever saying, hey, hey, come into the building. No, we're going first and we're serving them. And so to me, this building is a representation of providing a space that is so beautiful, it's heavenly. Restoring dignity, bringing them into a place where there's hope and there's peace and there's life. And it's impossible. It literally is impossible in the natural. And I love that we see stand here as your leaders going first, looking at something that's impossible so that whenever it is made possible, only God can truly receive the glory and the honor. $6 million by the end of the year. What God says, bring me the impossible. And so today you walked in and you saw this beautiful social acrylic thing out in the lobby. And here we have it right here it is. It's going to be what you see for quite a while. Hopefully by the end of the year, it'll be full. But each letter, it represents a million dollars. You can see that the S is almost full. Because I believe that by the end of this service, we're going to reach a million dollars. And we will check off the letter S. Okay? You may say, is this necessary? And I believe it is necessary. Habakkuk 2. Let's put it on. The message version says this. And then God answered, write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. And so we thought we would do what the word says. We're bringing out these big block letters because we're running this race and heaven is our home. That's where we're headed, right? But God has entrusted us with this movement to create space where people can encounter him. And we're taking people with us, right? And so I'm believing that this will be filled. And as we fill it, this representation represents a million dollars, and we're going to reach it. I believe that someone's even going to buy a letter for a million dollars. I've been saying that since Granada Days. A million dollars. Who's going to give a million dollars? I don't know, but they're coming. Maybe they're watching Social Global. But this is impossible for us. But with God, nothing is impossible.
Pastor Robert
Come on, somebody. And this is just to keep the Vision in front of us. Like I said, it's going to be $30 million, but we need six to break ground. And this is bigger than a building. Please don't get it twisted. This is so much bigger than a building. It's about rebuilding people's lives, and we're going to use every square foot of that building to bring glory to God. If you don't believe it, look at what we did with the parking lot yesterday. Amen. I'll do whatever we got to do. If we got to break it up and just put people in theaters. All right, Theater. Six, seven, eight. Come on in. But it's going to be used for the glory of God. And I just want to remind you that the building is just a tool for people to encounter Jesus. And for stories like this one that you're about to see right now, would you please watch this?
Jose (Testimony Speaker)
My name is Jose. I serve in the chairs team and pear team. This is my social story. Growing up, I had a really rough childhood. I spent a lot of time in and out of jail, surrounded with a lot of bad influences. When I was a teenager, my father left, and I was raised by my mother, who didn't know a single word of English. I had just graduated high school. I picked up a construction job, and it made me want to go back and study. I told my mother I was going to become an architect. During my first semester, my mother got diagnosed with cancer. All the dreams and hopes I had were shattered, and I gave in to drugs, doing crimes again, and I. Eventually, I got incarcerated. I remember the last time I spoke with my mom was through a prison payphone. And I remember the last thing she said to me was, mijo, por favor re se la. And that crushed me from the depths of my soul. I couldn't see her. I was never able to give her a hug and let her know what a wonderful mother she had been to my soul sisters and I. And when I was incarcerated, my mother passed away. As the years passed, I continued to struggle with my drug addiction and continue to commit crimes. So in 2020, I hit rock bottom, and I ended up back in jail in Dallas County. When I went to go see the judge, she offered me five to 25 years or six months rehab. I chose to rehab, not knowing that it would change my life. They had provided tablets for us in the rehab, so I got on the pandawa app, and that's where I heard Pastor Robert preach for the first time. I got out of rehab. I ended up checking in at a shelter home on Harry Hines. I didn't have service on my phone. I ended up hacking into the shelter home's wi fi where I googled Pastor Robert's name. Little did I know that he led a trip called Social Dallas. I got on Google Maps and it turns out it was a 20 minute train ride from where I was staying. I took a screenshot because I had no service on my phone. And that screenshot took me to Gillies where I encountered Social Dallas for the first time. When I walked in, I literally felt like I was walking into heaven. So I knew that I wanted to keep coming. So I did everything I could to be there every Sunday. After going to multiple services, I decided that I wanted to serve. So I ended up signing up to Social DNA. Fast forward to today. I was able to move out of the shelter home. I have a car. I serve at the church team and the prayer team. The hands that once held chains now get to create an environment for other people to encounter freedom. To my pastors and my social family, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for accepting me. Thanking you for creating a space at the table for me and for loving me unconditionally. Never would I have imagined that someone like me would be doing these things alongside you. And now I could proudly say that everything I had lost, God gave back to me. And so I was able to not only go back into my career, but I lead the department I work in. And to top it off, I'm going to be celebrating four years in sobriety from drugs and alcohol in October. Social Dallas not only welcomed me, it rebuilt me. And for that I am grateful.
Pastor Robert
Can we give God some praise today? And Jose is in the building right here on the front row.
Assistant Pastor
Come on, somebody.
Pastor Robert
That's what this church has always been about. That's what it will always be about. And Jose, I just want to say God is still writing your story. You don't have a clue what God has in store for you. Thank you for your obedience. Thank you for your sacrifice. As every person that can. Would you just take a seat just for a moment. We're about to dismiss. I was thinking about what he said. Because of this house, because of Jesus, it rebuilt me. And I hope you're catching the vision today. It's bigger than a building. It's about rebuilding people's lives. So there's more Joses. I was thinking about this. Jose, we gotta get you on another team because now that it's gonna be home next year, there is no chairs to put out. But it's a Preview for what's coming in our future home. And more lives are going to be changed. And our service hosts are in the aisles. They're going to be handing you a card and hear the heart of your pastor today. They're handing you this card not for pressure, but for clarity. I want to show you what it could look like if every single person that calls Social Dallas home, if this ain't your home, cool. I ain't talking to you. But if this is your home, I want to show you what it looks like for every single person to do their part. The car that you're being handed, they're going to put it up on the screen, and it just shows a breakdown of how we can reach this $6 million goal. It was the generosity of this house that allowed us to get this miraculous property. We're not trying to do the whole 30 million, although if you want to write that check, please believe your pastor will do a backflip. We're starting with this six that is needed for us to break ground. Because it's time. It's time. And I just want you to do what our family is doing. We're not even looking at it for what we can do, because that's what's easy. Oh, I can do that. I'm going to stretch you a little bit and go above what you think you can do and say, God, would you use me to go above that? That's what we're doing as a family. I'm going to ask you to take this card and pray as to what the Lord would have you do if this is your home, so that we can break ground. Y', all. I got crazy faith to believe we could get every single letter by the end of this year. I do. I do. I just think God can do that. And so I want to give you some clarity for what's going to happen on December 14th. December 14th, we'll be right here at Texas Trust for our family Christmas service. It'll be our last service of the year. And on the 14th, we're asking, as you pray with your family, what the Lord would have you do that you would bring your best gift towards our Future Home. On December 14, you say, why in the world is December 14 the last time we're gathering this year? Because the only venue that was available on December 21 was Toyota Music Factory. Every time we meet at Toyota Music factory, it is $70,000. Yeah. Production and everything. We just said, hey, we're in a different time as a church. We're not going to spend that. We're trying to get into our future home. Can I be honest with you? Nobody's more excited about youth and Wednesday night services every single week. But these venues don't give it to us for free. Even just for us to do that every single week. Next year will be an additional $500,000. Just a little over $500,000 for the year, added on top of the mortgage and this place. Place. And I'm just telling you to say this is a time for every single person to say, this is my house. I'm going to be all in. How many believe this is good ground to sew into? We haven't seen anything yet. And so all I'm asking that you would look at this and pray and ask the Lord what he would have you do. We got a phrase. Every dollar moves dirt. Every dollar moves dirt. So it's not about equal giving. It is about equal sacrifice. And we're going to watch all those letters fill up and then we'll have an amazing groundbreaking ceremony and we'll create a space for people to encounter Jesus. Amen. Amen. I'm going to ask the lovely Pastor Taylor just to pray over what the Lord's going to have us do. And would you do me a favor? Just stand to your feet.
Pastor Taylor
Thank you, Lord, for this day. What a holy moment where we get to pause and reflect on all that you've done. Look at what you've done. And yet we humbly look ahead for what you're going to do in this house, through this house, through every single person here today. And we're looking at the impossible. But we see it as an invitation to see you move. You are faithful to do it. You are faithful to finish what you've started. And so as every person looks at this piece of paper and they pray on how they can participate, this is not a time to force anyone or manipulate anyone. This is. This is truly an invitation to building the local church that truly transforms generations. And so speak Holy Spirit. Bless every single person in this room. Cover social Dallas as we continue to build the local church and move forward in no other name than the name of Jesus. We believe in that name. We believe that name translates transforms. We believe that name holds power. We believe that name leads to salvation. And so we come in your mighty name and we say, build your church. Holy Spirit, have your way. Holy Spirit, rest upon this house. Holy Spirit, and every single person who is represented here. God, cover their families, Lord. Cover their children. Cover their coming and their going. Bless them, God. Keep Them cause your father face to shine upon them. Give them grace, God, for the journey. Give them peace for the journey. God, now and forever. Today we stand and we hold the line where. Where we lack. God, your grace feels have your way. And may as the world is watching, your name be glorified. Not Robert and Taylor, but your name be lifted high to say, look what the Lord has done. In Jesus name, Amen.
Pastor Robert
Heads to bowed, eyes still close. Real quick, I want to do one more thing. Thinking the power of Jose's story. There's somebody today that needs to respond to Jesus. And I can't end this service without giving you that opportunity. Because I think it's time. It's time. You've been waiting, saying, I'm gonna get myself together, and then I'm. No, you don't clean yourself up to come to a Savior. You come to him just as you are. So with hands bowed and eyes closed, I don't care if it's one person. Trust me, you're worth it. If you're here today on this Vision Sunday, you can mark it on your calendar. That's the day I surrender my life to. If that's you, heads are bowed, eyes are closed, would you just lift up your hand high enough and long enough to where I can see it saying, pr. Today's the day I need to give him my life. I see the stories of life change. I need to be at that number. I'm tired of running. We say all the time in social, you can always come home. I see that hand. Come on. I see that hand. Anybody else just lifted high enough and long enough to where I can see it. I see it up there. Thank you, Jesus. Come on. I'm talking to some young person. This is your Sunday. You can say on the Sunday they announced Social Youth. That's the Sunday I gave my life to. Jesus. Anybody else? It's time. It's time. The day you hear his voice, don't harden your heart. It's time. Anybody else? Thank you, Lord. Here's what I want us to do as one big family. We're all gonna pray this prayer, but especially those of you who responded. Would you say this from your heart? Let's all say it. Say, jesus, I need you, Lord. I know it's time, Lord, you love me enough to pay the price for my sin. So, Jesus, today I surrender. I give you everything, Jesus. I believe you are the Son of God, that you live the life that I was supposed to live. You died the death that I was supposed to die. You took my place. So my response is to give you everything. From this moment forward, I'm walking with you in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Come on, somebody. Give God some praise today.
