enrollment required terms apply welcome to the Exit Interview. My partner, Donnie and I decided to figure out a way to help people find their person. This is the Exit Interview. I have one question for you. After you introduce yourself.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
After I introduce.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yes.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay. I'm Jasmine Bowy. This my camera?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
How about that? I'm Jasmine Bowy. What else am I saying? Supposed to say?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Introduce yourself. Your husband is on the other end of that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Jasmine Bowdrey. I'm a wardrobe stylist here in Atlanta. And husband are you out there? Come find me. Come get me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Savor from the streets.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm not LA now. We ain't in the streets.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I mean, you're in the streets though. You're not in the streets doing in the street stuff. But you're available. You're correct. You can be found in the streets. The streets could be the mall, the skating rink, going out. You know what I mean?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Outside.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah Outside. I mean, you're not gonna find your husband inside.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So I've been told.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah. Okay, here's my question.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Think about your last relationship. Why did you exit your last relationship?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
He cheated.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
He cheated.
Audience/Listener reactions
Dang.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Why?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
He cheated on you?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
In hindsight. So my last relationship, be clear on the word relationship was in 2013.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, my gosh.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I know.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That was your last relationship.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That was my last relationship. Now, have I dated? Yes. Have I dated since then? Yes.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But no one you call your man no in 13 years?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
No. Wow.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, I know you may not know the answer to this question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Why do you think that is?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So going back to the why he cheated, and I'll be considerate of. Of the other parties involved, but essentially it wasn't just like a wham, bam, I just hit, you know, I was just. Girls, I'm gonna get right back. It wasn't that. It was like a whole relationship. So it was like a double life. So that we were off and on for 12 years. So when it's somebody that you think you're going to be with, build a life with, and you find out that, you know they're in another relationship,

playing
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
this double life, like, that takes a minute to get over.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So not 13 years.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It didn't take 13 years, but it took a while. So I was living in Miami at the time. A month later, I packed up and moved to Chicago. I started a business. And like, the business was the healing because I just focused on that. And I literally focused on that for like seven years. I was abstinent for seven years. Did you just laugh at me?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's what's up. Nah, that's what's up. That's what's up.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Why did you laugh at me?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It was a smile of bruh. No, it wasn't.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It was a whole smirk. It was a whole. You laughed.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It was just.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You literally, you laughed. Like, that's funny.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No, it's not funny. It's not funny, but I'm there.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Listen, we keeping it real and we not like we being honest. So, like, that was the healing. I just focused on business. I wasn't entertaining. It was head down, I'm trying to grow this. And it might have been some avoidance, like not wanting to deal with it and face, you know, face it. So then coming out of that, right, it's like, okay, huh? It's been a minute. Maybe now, what a date? Then you have to like relearn yourself.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Seven years now.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I was good that was all sick.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Seven years.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Because I also don't feel like you should try to date when you're in the, like early. Think about early entrepreneurship.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like I'm not trying to focus. I'm not thinking about you. Like I'm trying to build. I remember going on a date and I literally was like, I could be at home working.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Building my business. So I just don't think that if you can't focus or like give your all when you're trying to date, then I don't wanna waste any time.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
How old were you when you met the person you were with?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
19.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
19. Yeah, we met a while years with this person and then another 13. Single.
Advertiser/Promoter
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Listen, I don't be trying to calculate. Trying to. I did age up how old somebody is.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Cause I didn't want to say.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I didn't wanna say.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Right.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You trying to do math like those.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm just trying to see where we're.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
I'm grown.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, you. You a grown woman.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm grown.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, wait. Okay. Do you know how many people you've dated in these 13 years?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Maybe five. Like, do you mean like just gone on a date or like actually like,
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
like this is my, this is my little person for a minute.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, maybe three.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Three or four. Okay, think about these three. How long did those situations last?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
The last one was five months.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Five months. What about before that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Maybe, maybe around the same time. Maybe five or six months.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, what about before that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I don't even remember.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I know it's been, it's been a while, but that first person was the first person coming off of a seven year. Not dry spell, but yes, dry spell.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I mean, it'll be accurate. Back some years. I'm trying to think of where was
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
this person so special that you're like, oh, wow, this person's kind of special. Or was it. It's been about seven years now.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think it was the latter because honestly, now that I think about it. So it was when I moved to Atlanta and I had been here maybe six months because I moved to Atlanta from Chicago and that was the first person I dated. And that, that actually, that wasn't. That was longer than six months. That was probably maybe closer to a year. But he wasn't right. But it definitely was like, okay, this is somebody I'm spending time with.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Then when you say he wasn't right, what you mean?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, he just wasn't. He just wasn't the one for me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Something to pass time.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That sounds so. But I mean, it wasn't to pass. I'm like, I liked him.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It just.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But you knew it wasn't going to be something.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think maybe I thought that potentially. But then after a while, it was like.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Could have been clouded. Clouded judgment, though. Because after seven years.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You know, this is my first piece of man. Yo. Okay. I gotta. And I. I hear this story a lot. And is it that you're completely even mentally? I'm not desiring that embrace of that person. Or is it. I want it, but it ain't that serious.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No. I think for women, and not that men don't experience heartbreak or feelings, but I think it just hits us a little bit harder. And I think for me, it wasn't that I didn't desire it or didn't want it. It was, am I in a space of where I can get it? Like, could I have done things within seven years? Absolutely. But what would that have come with? Like, this isn't going to lead to anything serious. Do I want to be vulnerable again? Do I trust myself? Because that's the thing. It's like, after you go through things, even with the. The situations that were like five and six months, like, those take healing as well. And it's. Do I trust myself to make a good or bad decision? So it's like lessons now. Oh, absolutely. Therapy in Jesus.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, okay, okay.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah. But like I said, it's all. After each. It's. I literally, like, write down what I. What did I like, what did I love about this experience? Because it's all experiences.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Pick one of them. Mentally. You don't got to give me a name. Give me one. Give me some stuff that you liked and some stuff that you knew you didn't like, you can't deal with.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Some stuff that I liked was consistency. He was very consistent. Like, I didn't. You know, some. You'll see online where some women might be, like, if he doesn't call you in 24 hours, he doesn't like you. Like, I never. That was never a problem. It wasn't like days of where, oh, he just went ghost and then he popped back up.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You know, he was very consistent. Dates were consistent. Communication was consistent. What lacked was his capacity as an entrepreneur. No, he was not.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
He had a bunch of, like, kids.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah, he had it. He had a child. Not a bunch of kids. We don't. We don't do a bunch of kids.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Baby moms.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Nope.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Worked really hard, like in a factory or something. A lot of hours.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No. I think to me, capacity is different for everyone. Right. It's like your bandwidth to be able to be in a relationship and what a relation come. Relationship comes with. So it. I don't know what he was going through. It could have been grief. It could have been his own, you know, desires and ambitions. It could have been hurt. It could have been his workload. It could have been parenting. I don't know.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It seems kind of contradictory, though, because he had. He was consistent but didn't have capacity.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think a lot. I think a lot of men are. Are like that. Like, I think in the beginning, I think. I think a lot of people want to be in relationships. Like, we all want to be loved and to love. So I think you can want those things and truly desire them.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But then after some point, so maybe after a couple of months, it was,
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
like, no longer consistent.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I can't really sustain or I got too much going on. I don't know. I don't know what y' all be going through.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay. So it seems like in the very beginning, I'm very consistent. And then tailoring off to the end, I'm inconsistent because my focus is elsewhere,
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
perhaps, or it could be. No lesson was that the situation was at this situation. It may have been. I think, like, towards the the end, he had some things he was dealing with. So I do think that it was. It got inconsistent because of things that he did.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Pull away or did you pull away?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think we both started to get frustrated with each other, but he was going through something.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Was it grief?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
In a sense, yes.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I mean, I think that requires a little patience on your part.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, for sure, for sure. I do think it requires patience, but I also think that if someone's going through something. Right. But you're not in a committed relationship. Am I obligated to have to go through it with you?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I think so.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But we're not in a committed relationship. Like, we're not in a relationship.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What is a committed relationship?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Me, you go together. Nobody else.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Was he dating other people?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Not sure.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You never ask?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Not to my knowledge.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Was there ever a communication about that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah, for sure.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And what do you say? You know, he said, no, it's just me.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right, right.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You were not dating anyone else?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's a committed relationship.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Is it?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, bro. Is it a committed relationship where you go with me yesterday?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Why not?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Because we grew up in a committed relationship, though.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I feel like if. If I ask a man. Right. So there were conversations of, okay, well, we're not in a committed relationship. Like, what's the vision of this? Where is this headed, you know, where are we going? And if you don't know, then that just leaves a gray area for me. So I don't operate in a gray area. I'm very black or white.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So in that conversation you're having. Conversation you're saying, okay, where is this going?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Correct.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't know.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It's like a. I'm working on me. And, you know, I can't really answer that.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Did this conversation come during the grief period or before?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Both. It came during both.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, yeah. Well, it's not a committed relationship then. But I'm thinking you're saying you're my only person. I'm your only person. This is a committed relationship.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I don't think.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But he made it be known that this is not just me and you.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But I don't think that there were other. That he was dating other people.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But the door was open for the option, though.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I feel like the door is always open if you're not in a committed relationship.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
The door is open if you are in a committed relationship. Remember, you're a 12 year guy.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Thanks. Thanks. Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But I do think relationships are the ebb and flow of good times in working through whatever that is, especially if we're marching towards it. And I would imagine maybe toward the end if there was like some grief situation, he's just not thinking clearly. How long ago was that? Then I'm like, recently? Yes, it was recent.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's still talk.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
At all?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What are we gonna do, man?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Find me a husband.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yes. Yes. We gotta find you a husband. You can't tell me you don't get like, passes where people are saying, honestly, probably not.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So here's the thing. Like, I'm weird. Like, I don't. I miss things all the time. Like, my friends will be like, girl, you didn't see. He was. I'm like, oh, really?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Me?
Narrator/Advertiser
I didn't.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You think so it might have been some shots.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Can I ask this question?
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Of course.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And I don't really know how to ask it, but at what point, if any, do we settle? And not for you, but for somebody that's watching this. Do we begin to lower our standards just to be with someone after a certain time?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You asking me your opinion? Because.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No, never.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Why? For the sake of just being with somebody? Nah, I'm not doing that. That would be a contradiction of who I am as a woman. So why would. If I don't lower my standards in anything in my life, why would I lower it just to have a man?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Here's How I'm answer this? Okay. That maybe at some time in our life we have a certain, like a checklist of stuff we want and maybe sometimes the checklist is too much and then this is a picture of. You know what? Maybe this part isn't that important.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I, I, for me, I disagree because I'm not out here with the, the checklist that I had at 22, 6 foot, 6 pack, you know, gotta, gotta do this. Got it. Like that is when you, when you have lived and you have more wisdom, more life experiences, like those things don't matter. Like what matters to me? Can he pray? Can he cover me? Can he cover us? How does he deal with stress and hardship? Like, the honeymoon phases are always, those are cute. But like, how does he handle hard times? What is his ambition? Like, what does he want? Is he happy in life? You know, what does he see for himself? Does he have character? Does he have a group of men that he's around that, you know, he can look to for mentorship and guidance or all y' all single?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Nah. That's good. I actually know like a few recently divorced people, but I think that they'd be good, Them and their situation just didn't work out. How do you feel about that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Recently divorced, like recent, like how? I mean, like the ink not dry.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Ah, they got a court date coming up, you know, to finalize everything.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
See, I don't. Because I feel like you need, I feel like for men, honestly, after a divorce, I feel like they need a little whole face. They need a little face, you know, go play.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's what you hear when you hear like recently. Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like, ah, I'm free. Like I'm going to wild out for a minute.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That actually makes sense.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And I don't, I don't want to be on the receiving end of that,
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
of the wild out. Okay. Okay. I need, I want to, I want to hear from you. What do you think your shortcomings are in a relationship?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think for me, I'm very self aware. So I can lack patience. For sure, I can lack patience, I can give Grace. But if I feel like you playing with me, if you're not taking me seriously or things are not being reciprocated, then I can shut down and shut completely off. Like mentally, I have disengaged.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Wow.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And once I've checked out mentally, then it's usually really no coming back.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Dang. Looking back, you think any of those like three most recent people, you checked out too soon?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, I don't. I think Grace was given I think that. And I think, like, we both tried. It just didn't. It just didn't work. I think in, I would say maybe two or three years ago, I was dating or getting to know someone. I think there was a time where I, like, wanted to be chosen. And so it was kind of like performative in auditioning, if you will. Like, okay, he said he wants this. I'm totally. That. I can be that. Really, I can do that. I can be that. And then you just start to bend and you start to loosen up on your own boundaries. You start to not be. Know the program is not as strict anymore because you want this person, you know, to choose you settling. And so I think I realized that also that I have to choose myself. One, two. Realizing that again, with experiences in life where I fallen short and areas that I still needed to work on. So a lot of like, not. Not. Not with this recent one, but I would say a couple years ago, like, inner child wounds like, that I needed to deal with. So certain things would trigger me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Give me one.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like, it was a big deal to me if you said you were gonna call me back and you didn't. Like, it sounds so petty. It sounds so petty and small and minute. But for me, it was a trigger because it was some form of rejection. Like, I felt rejected in a way. I felt like that means you couldn't keep your word because you said you were going to call me back and you did not call me back. So that means I can't trust your word. And what I learned with therapy, and again, being just more self aware, those were issues that I had with my father.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Got it. He would say things and not.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
He would say things and not follow through. And so you just kind of realize certain triggers. And with those triggers would be different. Different versions of me sometimes not always the best version.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So this kind of may play into the disengaging because you don't want to get your hopes too high on any one person because you've been let down before, and the nature of human beings are to let you down.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You think you're healed from that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I don't think that that's the case now. I think that that used to be the case.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
We don't know.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I don't think. I don't think it's like that. I don't think I'm like that now where I'm. Oh. I don't go into any experience with the expectation that this is gonna be my husband.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You know, like, we're just getting to know each other. Right. Like, I don't go into it with, oh my God, he's gonna hurt me. I just know he's gonna like, no, that's.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
We may not think that on the surface, but there could be some sort of. I don't think back of my mind. There's a protest. I still deal with that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like,
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
and it just shows up.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
As time as you get to know someone, then all of those things will reveal themselves.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Well, you haven't really had enough time to let things reveal themselves with the person yet.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think I have. You don't think so?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No, no, no, no. Five, six months.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I feel like the mask comes off after three months.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No way. I'm. I'm meeting a whole new person in my wife right now.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Correct. I feel like you're always constantly learning because it's constantly new versions, especially as women, like, as we get older in age, like, everything is, Is kind of like a new beginning. So you have to relearn that person. But that doesn't mean that her mad, you know, like that. I think it's different when you're dating and you're getting to know someone and in those three months, it's like, think of like a job. It's like a. Your first 90 days. It's like you're trying to do the best that you can. Like, ah, I'm a great hire. Yeah, right. I'm a great candidate to be, you know, your boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, whatever. And so you're showing up your best in those three months. And then once that kind of fizzles, you know, you might, you might log on to work a little later. You, you know, you might let a few things, you know, start to slide. You might not, you know, you just might not be as excited as you were because you like, ah, okay, the 90 day. I'm good. I'm in there.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But think of it this way. Think of it this way. And I believe you're correct. In the first 90 days or so, the first three months, I am being a person that this person would desire.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Correct.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And then the guard get. They let their hair down a little. Which we're now seeing it through them.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But that period of them not being as excited, that's also not necessarily who they are because they could be getting closer to something serious and then start withdrawing because they have some sort of trauma, some sort of defense mechanism.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
True.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Where it's like, okay, whoa, this is getting serious.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I need to let. So I do want you and I do desire you, but in that period after it gets too serious, this is where we got to like. And again, it's just dating, but like, somewhat ride it out to see the next phase of the person. Because that mass might drop and then they actually give you their heart. Yes, that's how it works.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah. No, because to me, if you. But that's what I mean with like healing and therapy, like, if you notice a pattern that when you're getting to know someone in, in month four, you're like, oh, it's getting too close then that you need to go talk to somebody. Yeah, but I'm not about, I'm not about to ride it out for eight, nine months for you to then decide, oh, you know what? Actually I do think I want you.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Like.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No. What else you gonna be doing?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Making some money.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Don't make money when you're in a relationship.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You don't think I don't know?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No, no. Well, I mean, it depends on the person. But what I'm saying is this is. We're in a fit. We're in a world now where people are like revealing themselves slowly and you're getting like different phases of them.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Agree.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So it's not automatically those first three months is the best version of them. It may be like, yo, so I operate like that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, I can understand that. I think that with those different versions, then that person on the other side has to determine if that is a version that they will want to be with.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's true. My question for you is, do you feel like you're giving it enough time? Okay. I just really believe in like a percentage method.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
If they have most of the stuff that made you like them and stay with them for these five, six months, they got a lot of good stuff. But there's also one or two things that start to reveal themselves. You're like, yo, I don't like that part about that person. Now we have to like, say, okay, am I just gonna let go of this 80% for this 20% and is maybe important to me. And what they're showing me may not be how they really feel, but I got to work through their defense mechanism.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, I can see that. I think then that goes back to boundaries and like, what are my particular boundaries and non negotiables?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So yeah, there are, There are going to be things that a man doesn't like about me that are going to be annoying. And so I don't think that it's a matter of, okay, we got to this point in. I don't like this about or he. Okay, I notice.
Narrator/Advertiser
Huh?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You know, I'm observing. Like it's all the first 90 days is really just data collection. Like I'm. We're learning. It's. It's data and I'm analyzing and determining. Okay, so I noticed, you know, he kind of pulls back when I mention this. Or okay, I noticed he stopped doing this or this. Then you can ask questions and have a conversation, but it's not where I'm like, oh, you know what? He did these 10 things and these two things over here. No. Unless it's something that's a non negotiable.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What are the non negotiables for you?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I need somebody that loves Jesus and not like you are in a relationship. Like you are trying to. You are going to church. Like you are actively having God as the head of your life. Like you have some. He's leading your life.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Got it.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Obviously no drugs, stuff like that, you know, like no drugs, you know. No, I wouldn't count weed as.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So it's cool.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You might. Might hit a little bit. For some people it comes like, no, but I'll have like a gummy every now. It calms anxiety sometimes.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So you do drugs.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Don't say it like that.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
How you gonna tell him he can't do drugs?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
There are certain type of drugs and there are particular drugs like, you know, little gummy ain't hurt nobody. Other non negotiables like domestic violence.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Of course. Have you ever been in that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No. No, no.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No one's ever put their hands on you?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No. No.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You ever see a sign that it's coming? Nah. Okay.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, thank you. That, and that's, that's honestly is family trauma. Like my aunt, my mother's sister was killed by her husband. So like any type of like. Yeah, that's very sensitive. So.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, so no hard drugs, gummies, drugs.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That's.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
The gummies are.
Audience/Listener reactions
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hard drugs loves Jesus and it has a real relationship. Okay. Real relationship. Like I'm already actively there or I'm trying to get.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think that you need to be already doing some things like in. Because it shouldn't be something that you do because of me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I got you.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It should be already, you know, things in your life. So you know, career, ambition, whatever that is. Whether you are entrepreneur or you, you know, you work in corporate. Like what is that vision for your life? So I do want somebody that's ambitious, ambitious, driven, goal oriented, not lazy. Like I want somebody that's romantic. I hear a lot about guys like, oh, well, I'm not really the romantic type. Like, I want somebody that likes to be romantic. I don't have to tell you to be romantic.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I think you need to. I think you need to like bend on that a little bit.
Narrator/Advertiser
Why?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I feel like bending. When you. When you start to bend the things that you truly desire, then you don't get them. You get the lackluster version.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Audience/Listener reactions
Of someone.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
If I have to constantly remind you I like flowers or this is my favorite candle. This is my favorite scent. I like ambiance when I go to restaurants and you don't do those things unless I mention it. To me, that lacks the consideration part.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, we. Only because.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Are you truly. Are you considerate?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What? Kay, can you grab my chapstick off my. My office desk, please? Here's. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. Okay. And this is my own testimony.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Because I'm not none of that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You're not none of that.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm not none of that. And.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But did your wife say she wanted somebody else romantic?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yes. She likes that stuff.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
She likes it. But did she. It's a difference in. Hey, yeah, I like romance. But was that one of her. I want a guy that's romantic.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm pretty sure it was, but I'm not. But she takes this other 80% and rolls with it. Only because, I mean, that's not. That's not something that's natural to everyone. Everyone.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And we may like cut that out because, oh, I want someone romantic. And that is. That is doubling as a sign of. Maybe he doesn't listen or he's not considerate and that's not it. It's simply because I don't think about it like that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Well, why not?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But I love you. I love you.

Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It comes with time because I'm getting slightly better and I know it's not moving as fast as as my wife would like it to, but she don't trip either because she like I got some other good qualities but you are a stylist and you obviously probably want your men to look halfway decent when they step out.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, that's not surprisingly like that's not a because I I, I will I will dress you, I will help you.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But he constantly just don't go get
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
a haircut or don't oh well see, that's grooming. That's different, because if you just don't keep yourself, like, clothes are different. Like, if you're just not naturally a stylish person, then I can help with that. We can work on that. We can go shopping together. But if you don't, if, like, grooming is something like that, to me, that's something else. That means you just don't care about your outward appearance.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Not necessarily.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Why?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yo, one, I get haircuts only on special occasions. But I like, you are bald.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You don't have hair.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I got hair on my face. Oh, yeah. That's why people forget, like, yo, bald isn't like, I don't have nothing. I got hair, bro.
Narrator/Advertiser
But my.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't shape up my beard.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So you only shape your beard on special occasions?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, every night. It just takes too long. And I don't like going to the barbershop. But I trim it down. I keep it trim.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That's still you grooming yourself.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But anyway, that's not you saying, I don't care how my hair looks.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Just got bad braids all the time. Just. That's a lack of grooming.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yes.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, so you're.
Audience/Listener reactions
You're.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You're okay. And here's the thing, bro. You can give him all the tips you want, but if he doesn't care or he likes the way he dresses and doesn't see anything wrong with it, I be me. Knowing you, I think that would frustrate you.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think that would frustrate me only because to me, that means that there is resistance to change.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't want to change in that area.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But why, like, and not that. That's something so small, though. Like, if I'm like, oh, babe, this will look so good on you. This is perfect for your body, for your body type.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And now you're trying to change them.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I love this.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Now you're trying to change them.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But is it. Don't men do put on your red dress and slipping those high heels? Like, that's because you liked how she looks in that dress. That doesn't mean you're trying to change the person.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's different. That's different how? Because this may be. Yo, I like when you do this. When we go out to a special occasion. What I'm saying is, I think you may try to change this person when we get together on a regular basis. Yo, let's go to lunch at yard house, and he shows up.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, actually, I don't.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I've dated guys that aren't, like, the most stylish, not the Most stylish.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm talking about bad.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
What is bad?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
They wear little polos in the. With the. With the collar wrinkled. But you're fine. It's clean. It just look crazy.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I have dated men.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Cool, dad. Okay. I was just trying to see if it was a non negotiable.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think it's a difference in non stylish and bummy.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, here's another question. Based on who you are and your beliefs, where are we with the intimacy?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm on pause with intimacy, and I think I'll be on pause for a minute.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You're on pause? Like, either your last situation was on pause.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, no, that wasn't on pause. Are you asking me going forward?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You just got out of it. You don't know what you on pause for.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That's not true. It was. This was. What month we in? It's like four months ago.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You don't know what you're on pause for. You meet the right man. When they send you a DM from this episode, what's the reason you're on pause?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Maybe I'm not on pause. Like, again. I know, I know you ain't on
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
pause for the right one.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Not, like,
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
come on with it.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
What'd you say
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
again?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think after each experience, like, you have to do some learning and unlearning. So, like, I had to evaluate, like, huh. Did I not pay attention to some flags that may have been there? Or how did I handle, you know, this situation? Could I have done something different? So I've done that evaluation, so, you know, I'm not, like, on ice.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay. It. Oh, man. I don't. Yeah. The questions that come in my head, I just. I'm just. All right. So I have a friend, and I, I, I couldn't believe it, actually. But he said he. Loki requires it, like, twice a day. Like, in the morning and in the evening. I said, dang, that's stressful. And for a woman that may not be that. The drive ain't like that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Ain't nobody saying nothing about the drive ain't like that.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay. I'm just trying to see because there's. And there's men that get in these relationships and they get married and they wife, like, no, I got a headache. I don't want to do it. And that is frustrating.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Being a woman is frustrating. We deal with a lot more than men have to deal with. So I think that some empathy needs to be.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Empathy, for sure there. But I don't think women deal with more than men.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Men deal with A lot.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, okay. So do you have four different cycles that you deal with every month?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't have to deal with that.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Okay.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But I think men think that just
Audience/Listener reactions
a woman being on her.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right. There are different phases. There are different phases. Right. Like, it is not just, yes, thank you. He knows what's going on. Is it? We are. It is not just a end of the month thing. Like, we are literally changing throughout the entire month. Like, and I' ma tell you. And then you can probably notice it within your. With your wife, there are probably times that she is more like, there are times when. That's probably when she's ovulating. She's in her ovulation phase. There might be times where she's like, bruh, don't talk to me. Leave me alone. There are times when she's super productive and, like, in go mode. Like, all of these are different phases that we are going through that. That have different hormones that, you know.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Wow.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hold on. Is it like a stretch, like. Like, kind of how that. That time of the month is? It's like a few days.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah. Usually like. Yeah. Like, day one through eight might be in this phase. Day eight through 15.
Audience/Listener reactions
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You like that you're in a different place.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
We're all like this.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm saying. But I don't know if she knows. I mean, maybe she doesn't. Do you know you got four phases.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like, we all. Every woman. It ain't just me, bro. It's literally every woman.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That is so crazy to me.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Not that you.
Audience/Listener reactions
I never.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You knew that. Armani. Wow.
Narrator/Advertiser
I don't.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't know, like, the exact name. Wow. I thought. Wow. Okay. Yes. First off, this is making so much sense.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yes. Like, ovulation phase luteal.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Here's what's crazy. And I'm. Yeah. Okay, so I'm gonna take the darts for all the men, and y' all can act like y' all know it. Whatever. So I thought ovulation had something to do with. This is the time where I can get prepared. Pregnant.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Correct.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But I guess it would affect how you h.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Not you. Just the light bulb in you.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I didn't. I had no idea.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I need you to, when this is done, do a quick little Instagram search on four women's phases. And there are actually men that make
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
content every single month.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Every month. That's why I'm like, no, y' all don't go through what we go through. There are men that make content, and it tells you, like, if your wife is in this phase, do this. If she's in this phase, do this.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Give me an example. Can you give me an example?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like, if she's in the phase of. When she's having her cycle and she might, like, most women probably crave, like, chocolate steak. It's like, do different things during these times. If she's in a phase of where, you know, she is feeling, you know, ready to. For the get down. Like, you might. That might be when you want to go get that haircut.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I. Yo, this is so crazy to me because I'm. I'm very logical, and I'm thinking a person is a certain way.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I know.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So every now and again, there will be a. There'll be times where my wife maybe, like, gets frustrated with me because, like, I'm super tired and I just want to go to sleep. And she like, oh, my gosh, do you even love me?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And I'm like, yes, that's definitely one of the things. Like, oh, my God. Do you like me?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
She's like, what's wrong with you?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You don't love me anymore.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I took a shower, and I put on that little smell. Good stuff you like. I was like, yo, I was just sleepy. And then another time, I'm like, all right, let's go. And she's like, all right. Yeah, let's do it. And then she falls asleep during the movie. Yeah, wake up, bro. She's like, okay, all right. Okay. Yeah, Just. I'm like, I don't want. No. No sleepy.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm about to unlock a whole new level in your marriage.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's great. But she'll get mad at me when I'm sleepy, but then she sleep. You know what I mean? So I'm thinking, now you're just being inconsistent. But it's. It's the cycle.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Yes.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Dang.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So mad you did.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You know what's crazy, though? There would be some women that would get frustrated with a man for not understanding the cycle, and that be a deal breaker. Yo, first off, I had mad deal breakers, and my wife still took me.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So, yeah, it. That's not a deal breaker for me. I do. I like. I do try to educate, like, you know, hey, this is. This is what's going on right now. Hey, maybe she tried after a while,
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
and I thought she was like, why are you acting like that?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah, I think after a while, then you start to notice it. So then you don't have to be told, like, oh, he's probably.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So for those women who just didn't. There are women that are like, Never, ever in the mood. Right.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I. I guess. I don't know.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's gotta be tough.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm not. That ain't me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So that's gotta be tough, though.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But I think it also. Again, it depends because what could have happened? Like, did she. Is she going through postpartum? Like, she recently have a whole baby? Has she gone through miscarriages? Like, there are women, like, intimacy and sex for women is usually very emotional. So if emotionally, like, we're not there, it's hard.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Wow. Okay. Cheating a deal breaker.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, absolutely. I told you, I packed up and moved to.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, but he had a whole family. But what you were saying, the reason I'm asking this is because you said it wasn't that it was just like
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
a. Oh, well, even if it was. Yeah. We not doing that. Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I mean, some. Some women have a different philosophy, though.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Hey.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Maybe they're of the understanding that. Or their thought process is a man is going to be a man. Which is. I don't know. But which I think is kind of crazy because just giving them license to be irresponsible.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I don't subscribe to that. It is a choice. Which also goes back to, you know, like, who's leading your life. Like, I feel like if you are led through God, then they're just different actions. You just move different. Like you just not out here with no penis control.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Cause you've disciplined yourself. Like, you have a. I think there's a certain discipline.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
With not all men. And honestly, probably not even a lot of Christian men, but I think that those who have discipline themselves and not, you know, not let that move them. With every action they take, I think they. I think those men move a little different.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah. I want to. I want to show you some people. I want to show you some people.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
God.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hold on, cuz, I. I really think that. I just want to show you. I just want to show you some options. Okay. Because it's a couple people.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay. You will vouch for these people.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, I'm not vouching for not one human being. Okay.
Audience/Listener reactions
Because I don't.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't know how they are in their relationship. But like, just let me know what you, what you. What you think. Hold on, hold on. Okay. Just let me know what you're thinking. Do you know him? You might know him, though. You know him.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I don't know him.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No. Just off, like, aesthetics. What you think? Yeah, but it was a while ago. He's remorseful.
Audience/Listener reactions
Yo. Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
This is one thing I would vouch I think. I think. I think he would never do something like that again. Yes, it's cute. Okay. Okay.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I mean, are we just. We just going off?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, just off aesthetic. Do you have any. Any body types that you try to stay away from? What, you mean, like too small, too big? Some people, like, you know, He ain't a little boy now,
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
right? I need a man.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah. So, okay, you cool with it?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
What's the other.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Let me. Let me show you. Let me show you this one.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So, options?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, I got.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I got options out here.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hold up, hold up. Let me see what's going on. All right, so this one, this one, you might know him. No, no.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
With that friend.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hey, listen.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Absolutely not, homie.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Lover friends.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Absolutely not. Absolutely not. And he would get on my entire nerves. Like, we go back and forth about his dating all the time.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No, hold on. I'm about to call you. Grab the door and he's there. Hold on. Let me. Let me see something real quick, because I. I want this to happen. I want. I want this to happen real quick. I'm calling my friend.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I thought you were showing me more options.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Well, that was the only two I had. My guy, Mike Moss, you are live on the exit interview. Don't say nothing crazy, okay?
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
I promise you I won't.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hey, I got. I got. I got. I got. I got somebody for you, man. I got a little prospect that I like to see what's going on. I like. I. I think. I think you're gonna be in her. I think she will be into you.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Okay, Dave, I don't. I got trust issues when it comes to you, brother. But I'm willing to give you one more shot as long as Donnie or your wife is involved. Who else is vouching for this situation?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
A bunch of people, bro. A bunch of people.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
It's not specific, David.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
A bunch. Listen, trust me.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
A bunch of people in the comments after our episode. A bunch of people scares me. I need specifics.
Audience/Listener reactions
Just.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Just. Mike, trust me, okay? Okay. Just trust me. Are you. Are you in town?
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
I'm in town.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay. What you doing this weekend?
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
This weekend or this week?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hold on. What you doing this weekend?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'll be at.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Don't try to make up something I'm not.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
We don't know.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Are you free this weekend? You're not free this weekend?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What are you doing this weekend?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
When is this airing?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I don't know.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
At the time it might be.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It doesn't matter.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, I'll be at Wealth Weekend.
Audience/Listener reactions
Hold on.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Is she free for Lunch.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'll be at wealth weekend.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
We can. We can have a conversation.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Is that this weekend?
Audience/Listener reactions
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, but what about throughout the week?
Audience/Listener reactions
Yo, it's a.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It could be an hour. Coffee?
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Absolutely.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm free today.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What you doing today, Mike?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Tuesday.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
I'll make it work. I just got a pt. I'm good.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
All right. Yo, I am going. I am going to put you on a group chat. I want y' all to go to coffee. Little coffee. I'm saying, let's see.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Let's see what she likes first. But yes, for sure.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You drink coffee?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I do.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
She drinks coffee. Or a little sandwich spot. Could be Panera, something like that. I like.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Panera's cool. Just as long I just haven't spoken to her.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
As long as she likes it, I'm okay with.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
I just don't want to go to where she's not open. Open to.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I want this to be blind. I want it to be blind.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Okay, got you. Okay, cool. So you go spot. You just want us to meet there?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It's more fun that way.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Hey, you're doing this today?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, we're doing it today. What's. What's. What's. What's a good time for you?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
This is hilarious.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
It's two o' clock now. I can do anything four o' clock or later, so.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Four o'? Clock?
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
How you. How you at four o'? Clock? You good at four. And. And you on by. You're not far from Cumberland, right?
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
I'm actually in the company area. I'm inviting.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
He's in a company.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I live in the city.
Audience/Listener reactions
Yeah,
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
like.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Well, look, I'm gonna put it together.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Let me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Let me finish. Let me finish. Okay, don't.
Audience/Listener reactions
I'm.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm. Listen, I'm gonna put it together. Let me finish this conversation. I got you. All right, I'll let you back.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Crazy.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I like this. What you think? What you think? Okay, what do you think? What do you think? Give me your thoughts.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
What are you about to have? Yeah, because y' all saw the interview.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What are your thoughts?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Y' all saw the interview.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Give me your thoughts about.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I trust you. What you say? Okay, see that. I mean, you have to meet him and just.
Advertiser/Promoter
See.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think he's. See, d you a got nothing else
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
to do at 4 o'.
Audience/Listener reactions
Clock.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I think out of the people that's been on the show, I think he's a great guy. I agree with Dave. I think that conversation got him tripped up. But he doesn't give me, like, he's a cheater. He gives me. He's a really good guy.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And just back then, it wasn't like he just left.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
So why he say he was single?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Same reason you single. He just ain't found that person.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And he just.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, and he just moved to Atlanta.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, see, he ain't even broke in yet.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yes, he see there go to prejudging. Not everybody. That's like, you moving to a new city. Be like, ah, she ain't been broken yet. She about to be out here.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, you do. It is like that. When you kind of first get a city, you don't be wilding, but you, like, let me see what's a little hooker box. Trying to see what that be like, what's going on.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I like. I like this. I like. I like this right here. Yep. Yep. So we are gonna see. If you all watch the exit interview, you'll know that voice. Maybe. But I. I think this is. This is good. And I need y' all to just DM Jazz, okay. Because she is an awesome human being. Awesome. Oh, I think I know your answer, because it's the politically correct answer. But where does the person have to be financially for you, but in terms
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
of, like, what they make?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah. Where they got to be? No, I mean, maybe not a dollar amount, but, like, where do they have to be? Just describe their situation
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
financially. Somebody that can have a disruption in life, whatever that may be, and be okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's a good way of putting that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like, how I did that.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I like that they can have a disruption and everything still be cool.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It don't stop you. Like, entrepreneurs don't stop a show. I do. I do. I think there's a level of understanding when entrepreneurs date.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But I think it can also depends because it could also be where y' all both just working and never see each other.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Would you prefer entrepreneur or nine to fiver?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, I can't say. It's like 50. 50, I think. I think both sides have pros and cons, because somebody in the nine to five may not understand, like, the ebbs and flows of entrepreneurship, but they. Somebody in a 9 to 5 can also have some stability or they have stability.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
When you say a disruption, how bad of a disruption?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It can be any type of disruption. Like, let's say, God forbid, you know, you lose a parent or a family member, and you can't work, you know, because you're grieving. That's a disruption.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Like, I don't know.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Can you afford the.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah. You don't just stop working because you're grieving.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You don't think people.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I think you do. I just don't think it's super depending
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
on the, like, for a parent, I think.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So what, are you gonna go homeless?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Because I know some people didn't work for like a year.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Really?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Who In a situation like that where
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
they can't listen first, Like I said, like, that you can.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
And.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And whatever that may be, it may be three months, six months, you. You should be able to withstand some type of disruption or if you're. Okay, let's put it in. Not. Not, let's say an entrepreneur, right? Like, you know that sometimes, depending on, you know, what you're doing, maybe it's a little slow that month. Right? Like, are you good or does that totally just, like, you know, wreck everything that you didn't bring in new clients that month?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I mean, even if you have money and you have a slow month,
Audience/Listener reactions
are
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
you talking about it. It disrupts your peace or it disrupts, like.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Well, the question was financial.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right. So, no, not disrupt your peace. Like, do you have a.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Most people, you have two bad months and your life is over. Okay, let's just go into a number. How much do you think?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No, I don't want to go into a number. I thought you said.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
My answer was hypothetically.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I thought you said that the answer. The number, the. It was a good.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No, it was.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Then you start dissecting nobody. Actually.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You're like, I need somebody to be able to take off for a year in Greece.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And I'm like, no, I'm looking at my situation.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Like a year, 12 months. I got. I mean, I wouldn't be kicked out of my home, but it'd be, ooh wee, I better create some content real quick. And I. And I think I'm in an okay situation.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Right. So you would be good if you had a disruption of any kind to still be able to provide and take care of your household and still pay your mortgage and still live your lifestyle?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Travel. You like to travel?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Absolutely.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Is it a deal breaker if they don't.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Don't travel, but, like, because they just have never.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Just not into it. Oh, well, no, it's not difficult.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yes, it's a deal breaker. Like, we're not ever going anywhere because you just don't like to travel.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, I mean, I mean, maybe a couple times a year. Go to Miami.
Audience/Listener reactions
Cancun.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Miami.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What's wrong with Miami?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Nothing is wrong with Miami.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm taking my wife to Miami next week.
Narrator/Advertiser
Actually. Nothing.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Nothing is wrong with Miami. But you Just say, like, that's the only place.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Some people just don't travel.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
And then he needs some stamp. Like, I. I feel like, again, kind of going back to the. The settling. We need to have similarities in lifestyle. Otherwise, I think then it's always a disconnect. So I only fly Delta unless it's, you know, international. Ain't no frontier flights.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I feel that. All right, so the good news is the person you're gonna have lunch with today, he travels a lot.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Love that. That's good.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So real quick, give me, give me. I just need. Hold on about approximately. Okay. Give me, like, a minimum range of income. That would be like. All right, I can rock with this.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
150. Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
150 ain't bad. 80 is not. You can't do a little 80 little.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
150, I would say, is the.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, okay, okay.
Audience/Listener reactions
How.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
How important are birthdays?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, like my birthday. I mean, his birthday, too.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Your birthday?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, yes.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
They got to go out.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You like. Yes, it's my birthday.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay.
Advertiser/Promoter
What do you mean?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'm just asking the questions.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Oh, yeah. It's a celebration.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay. I wasn't raised on birthdays like that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
But I think, again, a relationship is a partnership. So there are going to be things that you do because it pleases your partner.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yes.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You know that birthdays are big for me. Or she loves to be celebrated on her birthday. Then you should, for sure.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Here's what's cool, though, about my wife is she knows. She knows I'm not, like. I'm just not that person in terms of, like, super romantic. So she celebrates me for my attempt. So sometimes I'll. I'll do something where I'm so impressed with myself.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I'll be so impressed with myself. Look at him. Yeah, look at him. Look at him. It's what. It's almost. Almost one of them. But in the reason. The reason I'm saying all these and using myself in this situation is because I have an understanding of men who have these shortcomings that are important to a woman. And I am trying. And my wife does appreciate that I'm trying.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
The effort. Yeah, right. Because you're trying. There are some that don't even try. They're just, again, kind of that resistance to change. This is just who I am. Like, I don't. That you're trying. So that should be.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I forgot what it was. I just did the last. The recent thing. I did some dope stuff, and she celebrated me.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That's good.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I felt so good about It. And also, my friends is like, oh, all right. Well, that's what we do on Sundays. Like, I do that on. On the regular Wednesdays. But. But I. I put some thought into this thing.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
See, that's. It was intentional.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It was intentional. Yes.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay, so that's good. Good job.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
All right, well, how can someone approach you? Like, how can they watch this interview and say, you know what? I want to shoot a little shot. What's a good way for them to approach?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Like, if they're sliding my dm.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Don't just say, hey.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Have you ever gotten dms, like, with somebody just like, hey, and they don't say anything else? The most annoying.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You get that.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Or, hey, hi, beautiful. And then that's it.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
What's wrong with a high beautiful?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Because we're like, where's the rest of the conversation?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's all he has. Oh, my God. What's wrong with that? Imagine this person says, hey, beautiful. On the other side of that hey, beautiful. It is a man who takes care of his business. If a windfall hits, he's taken care of. He's straight. He ain't got a bunch of random kids out here he'll know about. He not in the club. The only drugs he does is gummies. But his ability to approach a woman is a little off.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
So don't just look at the hey, beautiful as like. That's my. That's my way of.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That's the way.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, it's. And maybe it took a lot for him to even muster up the courage to say it. I got y'.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
All.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
See, I'm trying to help.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
You're right. That is a good hey. That is a good.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
A.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
A good point of view. Yes, that's a good point of view. Typically, I just. I. I like context. So, like, hey, beautiful. Saw you on the exit interview.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Would love if I could get to know you. Like, to me, that's a full. That's. That's complete.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's good. I like that. I like that.
Audience/Listener reactions
That.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's a good education for the person that's watching this. But don't throw away my hey, Beautifuls, okay?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I got you.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You know what I'm saying? My guys did my hey, Beautifuls. I got. I got y' all all my hey, beautifuls out there. Or, hey, pretty ladies. I got you. Okay? I'm trying. I'm trying to make sure if you're a woman watching this, give it a chance at least. Let's go to the next engagement. Let's just give it a Chance.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Hey, beautiful. And you. Okay, we're gonna practice this. Okay?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Someone says, hey, beautiful. How do you reply?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Hello.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's her giving you a chance to all my hey, beautifuls out there.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Hello.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's her giving what?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
What else am I supposed to say?
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Okay, they say, hello, you say. I mean, they. You say hello, they say, listen, I
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
don't know how to flirt either. Like, me saying, hello is the.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Is.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
That's. That's. That's me giving it back.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, gosh. Okay. I love this. Des. This was awesome. What is your Instagram?
Advertiser/Promoter
And
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
you live in Atlanta. I do live in Atlanta, yeah. What is. What is your Instagram so they can reach out to you?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Yeah, it's J A S M E N E. Jasmine Bowdre. B O W. Doctor. Hi.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Reach out to Jazz. Is there a message that you have to your husband?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Come get me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Come get her.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Come get me. Come get me.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
I love this.
Donnie (Partner of Interviewer)
That's it.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
And what church you go to?
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Come get me. Change.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You go change.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I do go to change. There a bunch of fellas to PD and ps.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
That's a bunch of people.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
It is a lot of men that change.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Do they ever say anything to you? No. Do you ever see one that's, like, prostrate? And they. Out here, you're like, oh, look at them worshiping.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I do. I have change.
Audience/Listener reactions
Got some. That change.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Got some. Some change. Got some. Yeah. But I'm sure my other sisters in Christ, we. We see the same things. Amen. Amen.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You would never approach a man.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I would not approach, but I would let it be known that it is okay.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Super awkward, too.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I probably am so awkward. I'm so awkward. Like, I'm looking at you. Do you see me blinking? I'm so weird. I'm so weird.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Oh, my God. Listen, Jazz.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I'm so weird.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
But the best for you and you. This is gonna be. This is gonna be the year that your man come get you.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I really believe that. Yes, I received that.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yeah, we're gonna put that. We're gonna put up a bunch of clips. We're gonna have people on high alert. We're gonna. We're gonna get. You are gonna have your. Your pick in your DMs.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
I. I do believe that this is the year that God is making it for me, because I've been patient.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
You've been patient. No kids.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
No kids.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
No kids. Come on, y'.
Audience/Listener reactions
All.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
It's rare.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
Okay.
Advertiser/Promoter
Prime.
Jasmine Bowdrey (Interviewee)
This is great. A. Okay. See, baby, when you used to filet mignon, you know Kind of hard to go back to Hamburger Helper. And I'm funny. Quit playing. Come get me, bro.
Interviewer (possibly named Dave)
Yo, and come get her. Now we out of here. Peace.
Audience/Listener reactions
Look, I know there's somebody listening right now that's been saying, one day I'm gonna start my business. And the truth is, most people don't have an idea problem. They have a starting problem. And that's why I like Shopify. They already have everything set up for you from day one, so you can stop overthinking and actually start selling. And one thing I really like is the checkout experience when somebody is finally ready to buy from you. Shopify. Shopify. Checkout helps more people actually complete their purchase. Then when they come back, their information is already saved. So buying again is incredibly simple. Now, here's the part entrepreneurs don't think about enough. Every hour you're trying to figure out websites and payments and all the technical stuff is an hour you're not creating content, finding customers, or making sales. So Shopify handles that foundation so you could spend your time growing the business instead of building the infrastructure. And that's why millions of businesses, from brands you already know to people launching their very first companies, trust Shopify to power their business. With Shopify, nothing stands between your idea and a real business. So go make it a real business right now. Start your free trial@shopify.com social. That's shopify.com social again, that's shopify.com social.
