Megan
Hello, this is a call from an.
Inmate
Inmate at the Hamilton County Jail.
Defendant
Hey, I was just really curious. I heard about this podcast. I was just really curious how it's going.
Inmate
It's going fine. I think it's gonna really bring to light like the true person that you are. I think it'll be great. There's a lot of people stepping forward that want to come out and speak. I think the goal has always been to just make sure that you're not going to reoffend. And I'm hoping that this keeps you from reoffending in the future and not being able to commit future crimes. And hopefully by the time you get out, the podcast will already have been recorded and put out there for the world. And we don't have to worry about any more victims because there won't be a person that doesn't know who you are.
Defendant
Yeah, well, that's the way you feel. I mean, you're entitled to feel that way. I'm not trying to take that away.
Inmate
Well, I'm not the only person that feels that way. We're all entitled to feel that way. You hurt a lot of people. You admitted the crimes over the jail phone to me, and I have all of that as well. But I think I finally found someone that has the ability to take those recordings into things that I have accumulated against you and possibly charge you with more things. So I think that would be the best outcome. But I'm also okay with just the awareness being out there of your crimes and what you've done and the story. Because honestly, it's kind of like a movie when you try to explain to people. They don't even believe that someone could be so capable of such evil.
Defendant
I think you guys are just upset. The legal process only got me six months plus seven and a year probation, but I think that's pretty telling. That was all the prosecutor could get me on.
Megan
Is that what you really fucking think? Is that what you actually think? Megan, there's a million things I could sit here and go through with you about things you did to people, lies you told that traumatized people.
Jeff
To actively go around and make accusations against good people.
Defendant
Horrifying.
Jeff
So what's true? Bosma, Pence, Holcomb, Knisely. I remember Jeff reaching out, very concerned for me, saying that there was a murder for hire plot, that the association of Related Churches was involved and that they had threatened him and that they were threatening to do something to me as well.
Defendant
Ultimately, what we discovered is that we were, in a strange sense, we were being catfished by her. She would have these very consistent and very intense traumatic situations.
Witness
I'll never forget it. He said, well, do you know Megan Stoner? I said, yes, I do. Why? He said, have you been giving money to her? I immediately thought, oh, Jesus, what have I gotten myself into?
Defendant
Did you talk to Sergeant Marglin?
Inmate
Mm, yeah.
Defendant
He speak give an interview.
