Me and Ryan have been officially welcomed to the jungle that is Barstool Sports.
C
I brought it towards the Coyotes and I asked him if it was okay if I joined the Spit Chickens podcast full time.
B
Ryan Whitney's got a Pink Whitney out there now. The song man is a full time member. My religious galaxy got an assist from Chris.
D
Whoa. We're buzzing right now.
B
What is up folks? Pinky's up. That's right, Biz. You get that Pinky up immediately. Episode 640 of Spit and Chickens Podcast. Chris Pronger, Matthew Kachuk and Pink Whitney. Pinkies up. I don't know if you guys saw that setup that Pink Whitney had at the Barstool Invitational at the park. Did you set it up? Good job. I saw Zahn Spider. They're doing different Pinkies up dances. There's people in the crowd at Philly who, while hating me, still Respect. Pinkies up. The one guy doing the pinkies up sending me the video. Pinkies up your ass, Pittsburgh. So shout out, pink Whitney. Shout out. Pinkies up. Biz, that was an interesting. Pinkies up.
C
That's what the Flyers fans are doing in the crowd.
D
Fired up some respect on the Flyers fans name right now.
B
Hey, we will get into that. We're actually going to start with that. G&RA are loving life right now. They're tied. I'm down in the dumps. A little bit nervous, but not panicking at all. Tied 1 1. Merls is loving life because he's a fraud.
A
Call.
B
Oh, God.
D
Oh, God. Oh, no.
B
And that, for anyone not watching on Netflix, is Darth Vadar.
C
I told you, idiot.
B
Okay.
C
I knew I'd own the battle of Pennsylvania.
B
And you battled through injury. Darth. Darth Vadar thought he might have been. That could have been like an elbow, but nope, nope. Maybe playing it up. Maybe injured and battled his way through.
C
Where are my stormtroopers? Protect me.
B
They're in the crowd drinking Pink Whitney. And what a barn in Philly. I mean, it had been so long. I think it's been five years since the playoffs. But that was the bubble in Toronto. Doesn't count it. Eight years, I believe, since a game in that arena, the Orange Crush crew. And holy shit, was that place buzzing. And they were down, and then all of a sudden they caught fire. And this series, I picked, Pittsburgh, I want to say it could have been five.
D
What, three.
B
Talk about being wrong once again, Biz, you were all over the Flyers and Biz, I'll tell you right now. Or Darth, that's why you paid the big bucks last night. Because that breakdown after the second period in discussing Pittsburgh and their stupidity and falling into the trap of scumbag behavior that the Flyers live on and thrive on. It might have lost them the whole series. Break it down again for us because you crushed that one.
C
So I. I'm gonna take this off a little bit. Can you guys hear me clearly?
B
I would take it off you. You made. You made the effect. You are. You are dark.
C
Okay, okay, thank you. Thank you. Because I want to get somewhat serious about this from a Pittsburgh standpoint. Like, I wanted this series to go the distance. I wanted a seven game battle of Pennsylvania War, you know, going back to the crash. Crosby, ov. Hat trick game like. Like that going on, right? Like it's good for the game. But my God, the game plan of the Pittsburgh Penguins coming to this one. What the fuck are they doing? Like, I Want to be very clear. I thought that it was bullshit that Philly got the power play out of that full scrum. It was. They shouldn't have. It should have been even at worst, if not Pittsburgh going on the power play.
B
Okay, glad you said that.
C
I also think that Hathaway sticking Crosby in the face, obviously on purpose being a rat going by and doing that. It sucks that Crosby left his feet because I think it gave them the opportunity to even it up with envelopment. If he just grabs his face being like, what the fuck was that? I think Hathaway is going. And then they're going on the power play again. So I guess fair to give him the embellishment. But sometimes when you get hit in the face like that, when you're definitely not expecting it because you're about to take a face off and that's not even the guy you're taking the face off against who gets you tough. But buddy penalties and plays like that go missed all the time. And connect me got that greasy little elbow the same way that Sam Bennett fucking popped Brad Marshaw in that one game and it wasn't caught. That is going to happen all playoffs long and you have to eat it and you have to suck it up and that's what's going to happen if you want to have success, success in the playoffs. So what does he do? They're up one nothing. He fucking lowers himself to the standards of the dirt bag Philadelphia Flyers. You wrote it in the chat wit. They're scumbags. They play scumbag hockey. They got a scumbag mascot. They got scumbag fans. They probably still want Rick Talkett fired at this point.
B
Oh, yeah, no, I think they're switching
C
scumbag I fucking Pretty Jordy from barstool who was fucking chirping the fuck out of me the entire time on Twitter while that was all going down. He, he's now tweeting about like, mechkov needs to sit. Mitch Cob needs to set. I, I, I sub tweeted him today. I said, oh, the turntables, my friend. But if you're the Pittsburgh Penguins, this is not your identity. You're not, okay, you're the Toyota Camry. You're going to get great mileage. You're a, you're a great bargain. You're going to, you're going to get to go 200,000 miles, right? That's what you should be. You're, you're, you're built on rolling four lines, playing discipline good, being good on Special teams getting solid goaltending at the right time, which they have gotten. How many saves?
B
Yeah, he spent all. He hasn't been. Buddy.
D
He's been good enough to win games. Not on Skinner.
C
1,000% it's not on Skinner. And he's made more quality saves on. On their. On Penguins power plays.
D
Yeah.
C
Than quality opportunities that the Penguins have gotten. So 1000% not on Skinner. I don't understand after the first two games, going into Philly's environment how the message in that locker room wasn't like, boys, if they fucking rub their stinky mitts in your face, if they sp. If. If Hathaway hawks another loogie in your face, don't even fucking blink. Just take it. Try to get the power play. If the refs are snoozing again, whatever, you plow through it, battle through the adversity and just win a fucking hockey game. But what do they do? Connectne gets the little elbow rust goes bananas. He. Rust went over the top like he was trying to kill him on the
B
ground, but then he didn't fight him.
C
But then he didn't fight. So the one real gripe that Penguins fans have right now, and I'm going to throw it to you guys about this situation, is on the ground, after he was basically getting like choked out and Russ was on him, he kind of started kicking his heels towards him. Now, I don't know, man. Pretty harmless with that amount of force and the fact that he's doing it with his heel and it's not like he's doing it with his blade. Still not. Not the play. Once again, that's probably why they should have ended up on the power play. From that. Here's just a picture of it. And that's when it was going down. I don't know if, if. If Connecty, when Russ was standing over top of him, thought he kind of like gave him a little bit of like a kick with his feet too, and that's why he did it. But at the end of the day, I would say this to Travis Konneckney's face. You guys play like scumbags. You're kind of a scumbag, but that just means. That means I love you. That means I love you and I would want you on my team any day of the week, twice on Sundays. So what do you guys think about that entire situation and the Pittsburgh Penguins lowering their standards to play dirt bag Philadelphia Flyer hockey?
B
I think that this has gone exactly as Philly could have. They couldn't have dreamed it went. It would go this way. They couldn't have dreamed it would go this well. I haven't seen a fourth line dominate like this in a long time. And shout out Shawn Couturier, who's never been a fourth line player. And Flyers fans have been all up in this guy's ass for a few years, man. He's battled all these back injuries and he's been a captain, he's been a warrior. He's been a hell of a player throughout his career. It's been a tough go in Philly for a long time. This guy's on the fourth line. No complaints. No. No bitching. And their fourth line is owning Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh. Biz, you said it all year. Their fourth line was phenomenal. They're getting dominated. And I'll tell you, if. If this series ends in four, which I don't think anyone would be surprised at this point, I mean, may, you know, maybe they're able to go out and get one, and Crosby's not going to go down with a sweep to the Philadelphia Flyers. But just look at Trevor Z. Look at that nonsense that went down. And I agree with you, Biz. Philly had no. There's no way they end up with the power play on after that madness. I don't get that. But whatever. It happened. And they score. They got 16 guys in the penalty box. Zegras skates over the box. The picture is incredible. The entire box is hugging like they're in a mosh pit. Zegras is celebrating now. He's down in front of the Penguins penalty box with 16 guys in their box. And I'm like, holy. The Penguins are up one nothing. They got control of this game. Zeger scores on the power play. And then I think four minutes later, it's 3:1. It was like, what just happened. They. They just won this series in a span of six minutes. And it's exactly how they. They imagined it. The fans were unreal. Like watching on tv, like, that was a lot. That was a lot like Buffalo. I mean, they. They've been waiting. It has been 14 years, but eight, it's not. That's a long time. And that's a hockey city, man. They love it. They eat up the scumbag behavior. They were. And the kick, I, I think he gets fine. I mean, I, I know you're saying it wasn't super hard. It's with this heel a kicks, a kick, I get the Penguins.
C
Well, if it kicks a kick, it's a match penalty. So, like, do you think he should get sussied. Like what was it was.
B
That's where. That's where I see your point that
C
I think it's hard to explain to, to non hockey people and guys who didn't play. I don't think that if you pull the entire NHL, none of the guys are going to say he should be suspended for that. But you shouldn't be doing that. Even though it's with your heel and not the actual skate blade. Like, you just don't. You just don't do it. But it's. It wasn't like he went like. It wasn't like he went like out like that. He was doing it with his heel like that to trip him, to get him from stop to stop being over top of him and kind of like mo. He was basically mogging him.
B
Well, Flyers fan said, if you've ever seen an infant try to get up, he was just trying to get up. Just trying to get up to. But Keith, let me ask you, you played with Couturier?
D
Yeah.
B
He's got three points in three games. My thing is though, he's fucking killing people. He's. Was he. Was he doing that when you play with him? Is he. I don't remember him as this overly physical guy.
D
No, he was more like really good stick. Get in on the forecheck using a stick. But he was also playing 20 to 22 minutes a night and probably didn't want to, you know, hit guys and exert his energy that way. So now that he's playing a lesser role, he can go out there and run around. It just proves to like why he's the captain of that team. Because a lot of guys, if you've been on the first second line for 12 years, then you get bumped down. Like you're going to play hard. But he's playing like he's been a fourth liner his whole career and, and he's doing it the right way in Philadelphia. Like, if you think of winning a series in the NHL playoffs, you got to have depth, scoring, you got to have good defensive play, good goaltending and good special teams. They're getting goals from Nick Sealer, Wrista Linen, Hathaway. Who's the other guy on that line?
B
Not Glenn Denning. Glenn. Flyers have recorded two or more points against the Penguins. Like, yeah, it's. And, and I'll tell you the. There are some biz. I texted the group. No shows on Pittsburgh's roster right now. Yeah, not only no shows offensively, like Manta. I. I don't know the guy had 33 goals this year. He. He flips it. They're up three, two. And now, granted, we've seen a bunch of guys flipping it over the glass. Like, it's kind of. I understand the pressure, the game. So fast. They're up, they're down three, two. They got momentum. He flips it over the glass. Boom. No. Okay, it's game over. And. And like China cov I. It's just. It's domination. Domination by Philly. And I never saw this coming, and I should have. Based on how they were playing, what are they like? Look it up, G. I think they're like 21 and 6 in their last 27 games. Like, they are just humming and talk. It's got them going and they have depth. And when your fourth line's playing like this, along with business. Darth Vadar, fuck, man. It is impressive.
D
With Shane Gillis doing the opening thing, you knew they were coming out hot. Like, the guy's all time. He's all time. He's going to get the. The juices going to.
E
Philly should hire him.
B
Well, we'll get into Buffalo and Josh Allen. God.
D
But hey, can we talk about Owen Tippett? Like another. He's obviously a stud player now, too, but he's killing somebody every game and he's making himself. And I remember when I was a kid, my dad would always be like, hit somebody once a game, so people know, like, whatever. And obviously I stopped listening after like 12 years old. But, like, if you're a guy, if you hit someone once a game, you're going to see it on the video. You're going to be hesitant to go back. If you're a forward and you know he's back checking, you're going to be hesitant to cut to the middle. Like, he is a true power forward and he's playing so well. I mean, the whole team is. But I think he's like the. As he goes, their team goes.
C
And I guess at this point, it's not even fair to call Couturier and Those guys the fourth line because they're lugging 17 minutes ice like they're being relied upon on.
E
On.
C
In heavy situations. And like you guys mentioned that second and third goal, like that was the fourth line getting it done. Like they're getting after they change the momentum, they're being thrown over the boards just as much, if not more than any other line. And I know it wasn't their line who scored the goals, it was both the defensemen. But my goodness, just great work. Winning puck battles and going back like, like, did you like this? I know the, the. The bullshit of the fact that they were on the power play, right? It shouldn't have been that. I don't even know if the Penguins guys who were killing the penalty realized that they were killing a penalty. Did you see?
B
So that was your breakdown that I love, man.
C
So this is like. This is like Hockey 101 for fucking amateurs. Tip used to stress this all the time. If you're the guy, get it coming over the blue line and it's like, let's say a two on two or a three on three. If you end up missing the net as the shooter, more than likely you have the other two guys driving the net. You better be F1 coming back. Like you better fucking. The minute it leaves your stick and you're like, oh, this missed the net.
E
You.
C
You're beining back to your own net to make sure it's not an odd man rush. So they get sprung. Now here's another. They got away with one. It was, it was kind of a semi two on one. And Forester grabs the jersey really quickly, gives it a little slingshot, and all of a sudden it's a two on two kind of. They got away with another one. But if you go back to game two in Pittsburgh, I think we can all agree that Pittsburgh was getting the calls like they were sent to the po. It was a prey to the penalty box for the Philadelphia Flyers. They, I think they had in the first, in the first like half of the game, they had four power plays, guys. They had two shots on net, net game at that point and gave up
D
two breakaways and a two on zero and like.
C
Yeah, and like a two on. I. I think they, they've given up, I think on their power play. Like 3, 2 on O so far this series. Like, that's insane, man. I would have a meltdown as a coach in locker room. So it's Lazot and Achari going on this two on two, Bud Lizotte like, like, just, just, just pull up like go, go to the boards, rag the puck, kill some clock. At this point you're up one nothing. You're trying to kill this off, kill their momentum, whatever little that they have at that point and live to fight another day. So he miss, misses it completely. And the next thing you know, it's a three on two, easy zone entry going back the other way. And you're like, I still. Where the fuck. These guys still aren't in my screen yet. Why aren't they back checking. So they get, they get in the zone. Well, they lose one puck battle, they lose another puck battle, and then boom, it's in the fucking back of their net. It's like, it's, it's, it's, it's just stupid fucking hockey. They, they just, their brains fell out of their head and that's all.
E
That's.
C
If, if the, if I was the coach before that game, my main message would have been like, boys, don't react to anything. Be the most. Be the vanilla lattes that you are. Roll four lines, skate them into the ground, because that's what they have the ability to do. And I, I gotta, I gotta give credit, man. Like, I know people are aware who, who Sanheim is and the fact that his stick, it's fucking brutal. I would, if I had to do one on ones against him in practice, I would be, I would be that Russian guy from Minnesota flicking over the glass. I would be Manta.
B
He's a lot like slaving. Like, they both skate so well. Their sticks are, they're not overly physical. They can add offense, but it's not like a main part of their game usually there. He's an incredible shutdown defenseman and he
D
can bring some offense too.
C
Yeah, I mean, look at the Kale McCarr.
B
I know, it's just been.
D
I love, like, I love Dan Muse, great guy, but like, he looks like he's in over his head too, as along with the whole team. So, like, there's got to be. I don't know what's going to be said in between game three and game four, but there's got to be something that's said in that locker room where it's. We got to figure something out. And when you get down in a series too, you want to go out and fucking do it your first shift and get mad, hit somebody like, like you've said biz this whole time. They're not built that way. They got to go back to the way that they know how to win. And whether it's Sid doing what he does and having a pop off game. And Gino, Gino's been good, but I think the biggest thing put, put Hazy in, put the big fella in. It's his old team. Why not that bottom four line that you talked about all year, that was great. They haven't done. Bring him in, let him do his thing.
C
Yeah, it's.
B
I, I been shocking. I've been shocked.
C
Shocking.
B
I, I just, I, I got to give credit. I muse has to get a shirt that fits his neck. His neck. It's. Shirt's way too big. It's. It's.
C
I think I haven't noticed that.
D
Oh, yeah, it's crazy.
B
Dress shirt is. Is way too big. That could be.
C
And I think that you think that's the issue.
B
It could be.
D
It's part of it.
B
The Penguins fans, they're just, they're furious about the officiating. I mean, Latang's son is making tiktoks nonstop about how bad the refs are.
C
No way.
B
And I couldn't believe, you know, Muse comes out after and he says Crosby's never embellished once in his career.
D
He was pretty known for that early,
B
early on he was. He's actually never. That was his first ever penalty for embellishment, though. So technically, by the, by the letter of the law, he had never embellished.
C
But I think we can all agree that they have a gripe. But yeah, mostly for game three. I thought that in game two that they got the advantage as far as the calls and they didn't take advantage. So. Yeah, I don't. The fact that they found themselves in those situations after being up 1, nothing is. Is just dumb.
D
It'. It's also be careful what you wish for. You want more power plays, that's that you're giving up two breakaways a game on the other end. So. And I don't think they've scored shorthanded yet, have they? So, like, that might be coming too. So be careful what you wish for.
C
No, they have. That was. Hathaway got one.
D
Oh, that was.
C
Yeah, yeah. Hathaway from Tip at that solo effort. That was the.
D
Oh, yes.
C
That was their new. The shift.
D
That was insane.
C
Their modern day version. But I don't really have much else to say. I don't know.
D
Shout out to the Flyers fans. Let's say you give them something to cheer about. They've been in the building. I mean, you mentioned it with. That looked insane.
C
I will say though that, like, the longer that they keep advancing, the more I'm just going to bring up with the fact that I own half of their fan base.
B
You do.
C
That's like.
B
Yeah. Oh. The longer they go, you look like a hockey genius. So I'll give you credit on that.
F
Right.
B
Yeah, I, I think. I would think most Flyers fans right now are like in their group chats, like, we were wrong. Like, Biz might have been right.
C
Biz Jordy has not reached out to say that. That he, he's. He. He was one of the biggest catalysts going after me that I was a donkey.
B
I couldn't believe that. Mechkov penalty, too. And then it's like, oh, my God, I don't think this guy's getting back.
C
So let's have. Let's have the Mechkov conversation. Like, first of all, he had a great end to the season after big time after the Olympic break. To say that. That he is like, a 15% reason as to why they made playoffs. I think you're smoking crack with gritty. I think there's so many other variables that go into what makes this team successful. But he's. He's not. He's not necessarily equipped for playing a defensive, fast, gritty style of hockey come playoff time. And I think that he's left to be vulnerable. I don't think you take him out of the lineup because then all of a sudden, it becomes a storyline, maybe with half of the idiot fan base. So they're in. They're in a little bit of a difficult spot here, and they haven't lost,
B
so they haven't lost.
C
Like, but. But like, he's also visibly not been that good. Right? Like, can we agree on that? Like, going back to last game, like, the Gerard grade A chance lost D zone coverage early the first shift in game three at home. Like, had the turnover inside the blue light. He just, like, it's not clicking like it is for the other guys who are embracing this type of environment in this type of play.
B
Oh, the better skaters.
C
Be careful, buddy. Be careful.
B
You better. That was. That was my original take, so I may be a genius, too, if they keep moving on and he's actually out of the lineup. But I don't want to break down the Flyers fence. I don't want to.
D
Did you guys. Before we leave the Flyers, did you guys see the four check by Hathaway before the Sealer goal?
E
No, he.
D
I wish we could run it. You got to watch it. He legit. It was a kamikaze mission. He came in, he ended. He hit his back in his legs on the. On the glass.
B
Oh, yeah. And then he's on the bench. He changed it. He's going nuts as they scored.
C
Yeah, I saw that.
D
It was unbelievable. The forecheck was insane. He could have killed someone. And then they end up scoring. But if Meech Cob wants to stay in the lineup, if they start. If they move on and he's not playing as well, he's got to do stuff like that. But will he do that?
B
So Philly up three zero in total control. Amazing. Congrats to them so far. It's not over, but it seems. Seems to be though, when we talk about Penguins fans and their disgust towards the refs. I don't know if I've seen a fan base more upset at refs than the Minnesota Wild. They. They're losing their goddamn minds. They think Jamie Ben should be in prison. In the. What was that movie?
C
What's the Green Mile?
D
San Quentin.
B
He wears. What's the. What's the actor?
D
Oh, yeah.
C
Tom Hanks.
D
No, no, no, no.
B
Buffalo Bill.
D
Buffalo Bill, yeah, yeah, the guy.
B
Buffalo Bill. And that straight jacket.
D
Straight jacket.
B
Straight jacket. But what is that movie called, boys? Silence of the Lambs.
D
Silent. Yeah.
B
Jamie Ben, enemy number one. But I'll say this before we talk about what's going on in that series. Minnesota is just so used to just playoff heartbreak. Playoff heartbreak after playoff heartbreak. They can't get a lead, 20 in a series. They lose. Game two. Dallas, great effort in game two. Game three. They're going home, boys. This is when we're going to find out what the Wild are made of. This team is different. I think every fan, fan of the Wild will tell you this is a different team. I'm telling you, this is a different team. This. They're. They have what it takes to get it done, to at least get out of the first round. Forget the Stanley cup, they're down 2:1. They're playing game four at home. This is when we will find out if it's a different Wild team. Because if they can't show up and get a win, and if Capriof can't play a little better than he has been, then Dallas will take control of this series. But Biz, what are your thoughts so far? What do you think of last night?
C
Yan's texted it to the group chat this morning, just talking about their hatred for the refs. One of the most wild things I've ever seen from a Minnesota fan base
B
when it comes to the state of hockey. State of hockey.
C
The state of hockey. So I didn't remember who it was, but I saw it. And then I saw them overreact. I think it was Wyatt Johnson you mentioned, right, Yance?
D
Yes.
B
He. He.
C
He's over the red line, like on the offensive side of it. And this is in, I believe, the first overtime, maybe even overtime too. And he flicks it. It goes over the glass in the offensive zone. The Minnesota fans were losing their minds, wanting a. A, a delay, a game penalty.
D
I never seen anything like It.
C
I'm like, like, what the Is going on here? Like, do these people not. Not know what the Is going on?
B
Were we missing something behind the play they were upset about? Because I refuse to believe that they thought that was delay a game.
D
When every. When. What is the universal sign for delay a game? What does everybody on the bench do? What does everybody in the stands do? You go like this. Throw your hand up. Like, it's out. It's out. Everyone in the bottom row did it. I was sitting there. I'm ha. I mean, it was getting late. I'm like, maybe I'm delusional here, but no, they. For the state of hockey to be thinking that puck out of the zone, in the neutral zone, closer to the offensive zone than the defensive zone, should be a penalty. I don't think anyone who stood up should get. Should be able to go to another game.
C
I agree. I agree. You got to give your ticket up.
D
Yep.
B
You got to put it up. I just can't put on StubHub, man. They go down to nothing. It's like, wow, I can. You know, Dallas. We knew Dallas. They're not going anywhere. Tested in the playoffs. So many good players. And Mini comes back, dude. And not only do they come back, they tie it up. Then they kill about 45 seconds of that five on three. They finish off the kill. McCarron gets the puck in the neutral zone. What a shot by him. He's been great in this series. Awesome on the pk. Can win, draws, scores that big goal. They get up 3:2. And we haven't even mentioned another boldy masterpiece.
F
Oh, my.
B
And I'm like, holy shit. Like, this team is nails. Like, this team is different. They come back from 20 at home. It's 3 2. They have complete control, and they still can't win that game. And their power play, dude, is not. It is not good. It has to be better or they're fucked with the.
D
The play when they were up three two. They tied it. The sequence of events that happened. Puck hit Wallstead in the head. His helmet didn't. Came off. He ripped it off. He, like, kind of shook it off. So face off ends in their zone instead of going down, killing some time, whatever. Face off in their end, Minnesota ends up coming down, almost scoring. Ottinger makes an unreal save. Boldy kind of missed a backdoor happen. And then they come down and rant and makes that incredible play over to Dutchy, which is an insane pass, but an insane shot, too. But it's those little small Things that it takes in playoffs where, hey, if you're the goalie and you see the puck getting shot down, that's going to kill 20 seconds. Just button up your helmet yourself instead of ripping it off. Like, it's little minute things.
B
And I didn't even know Ed's Obiz on that broadcast, who was like, that's not an automatic whistle. Like, I, I kind of. I, I, I think I've heard that. I just couldn't. He's like, the ref has complete, you know, he's able to not blow the whistle just because your helmet's off if, if there's a play going on and if you knock it off on your own, like, that's not an automatic.
C
Yeah, I think it's, they, they tend to, like, blow it quick for goalies. I got obviously that, that, that case. I thought it was actually weird in the Fires game when Vladar lost his skate delayed. They blew it down right away, which
B
was a couple seconds, though.
C
Yeah, yeah. But they still blew it down. It was still in the D zone, I think. But yeah, that you just mentioned that. Like, that rotten. And when he got it on the tying goal, 99% of guys try to fire that and score that goal because there was a little bit of an opening, but for him to, like, do the pump fake, do another pump fake, and then everybody's just scrambling in the middle. I used to try to get the block or get in his way, and then he just finds Dutchy backdoor. And I don't, I feel like Dutchy, maybe earlier in his career and even halfway through his career, well, one, he was getting bought out by the Nashville fucking Predators and maybe got kind of labeled as a guy who couldn't raise his level come playoff time. But he has been one of the best players in the series, especially in the absence of Rupe.
B
How about the back check? He had to start. That was incredible.
C
Yeah, take it away, man. It's. It's been really, really cool to see for a guy who's been kind of pigeon tossed throughout the first half of his career, where he's found a perfect home. We've had him on to talk about it as well, where he'll do anything for this Dallas team, and he is doing it right now. The next name that we have to mention, we'll get to Wyatt Johnson in the, in the scoring goal and how sick and nasty he is at tipping pucks. But Miro.
D
Hey, Skinny, you know what that, you know what the Wyatt Johnson comparison is? What? Liam Blutton, Blutman Told me what? Joel. Joel Pavelski. Because they were together and he. I remember seeing videos of them working together. Such a good call by bloody.
C
Well, yeah, yeah. It's on the broadcast. Like Liam McHugh brought it up as well. He lived with Joe Pavelski. Yeah, like he lived there. So he. Yeah, he started developing that skill when he got to the NHL. And I was going to say. When you saw. I said a comparable. I feel like, like Jake Gensel was and always has been very good around the blue paint. For a small guy finding empty space even, you know, embracing and taking contact for being a smaller player, always finding that, that, that. That loose puck and just being a little bit of a. Like a squid in there. Right. Very slippery sucker as they say. And he ends up tipping in an absolute beauty. And their power play comes to life before I get to Miro Haskin and I thought when they had that power play before they went through about a minute and a half of it and I thought Galatzin was going to call a timeout and maybe use to get the fresh legs for the last 30 seconds of that power play. He decides not to. He goes with the second unit. They actually got a pretty good scoring chance out of it. And what's he do when he gets their next. They get their next power play. Robertson and I think one or two other guys from their power play were on the ice when they drew the over the glass call. It finally uses that timeout, they get to the whiteboard, they make a few adjustments and boom. Into the back of the net. It's a classic example. Minnesota, it's right in their fingertips. They got it and then they drop it. They had plenty of power play opportunities. They just can't find a way. Capri soft off to the side of the net. Unbelievable save by Ottinger. Total, total difference of, of. Of what both organizations have been through in playoff.
B
So I, I want to quickly, I want to get into the Wild fans complaints but I do want to bring up that they are 1 for 11 in the last two games on the power play. Who are they missing? Zuccarello. They're missing Zuccarello.
C
Is he a righty?
B
They had. He's a lefty. They had five power plays in the third period in overtime. Nothing. Right. They have Brink out there. Why don't you put Faber out there with Hughes? Look at Faber so far in this series. Yeah, he could score. He's offensive. He's got a great shot. He could skate. Just go with the 2D system. I don't know if wild fans agree with that, but like I, I would love to have Faber out on the power play. Right. And I understand not having. Zuk's a big loss, but Caprisov has to be way better. And wild fans, they're. They're talking about it. I mean he starts making 17 million next year. He had an amazing first game. It was a blowout. Where's he been in the last two? In terms of the Jamie Ben hit on. On Boldy, I. I loved Henrik Lundquist on the broadcast. I couldn't believe Anticar is like, that's not a purpose at all. It's like, I don't know, man. Like Jamie Ben. This is what this guy does. He's. He is a. And to just immediately say that. Oh, that wasn't.
C
I have to kind of eat it too because I, I said that like, ah, you just can't pin it on him. Like he's jumping. He's jumping looking like he's out of the way. And in real time, the refs like, are you.
B
I agree. Are you saying. I think depending on who it is,
C
should they call a match and then review it? Like what should they do in that situation?
D
Yeah, that's the only time you could do that.
B
I don't know. It happens quick. But I'll say there's guys who, when they do things like Bennett, I'll put Jamie Ben there. Like it may not look on purpose and then you're like, well, look who it is. Look who it is. And wild. But wild fans, they just. They are so adamant that they're getting fucked over by the refs. It's like your power plays had 11 chances in the last two games. You got one goal, you're. You're up three to two in the third period. You get guys sliding around. Yes. That ranted and pass was incredible. We didn't even mention that Duchene. That's not an easy offside one timer. Like he wants to Whitney. I thought he was gonna at least drag it in. He had like no angle there. And then they end up. They end up like taking over and winning that game. But another example of we talked about Manta flipping it over the glass and Cates makes it 4:2 that year off. Like he flips it over the glass and double overtime. You said GSON takes the time out. Boom, game over. They have control. I just want to see what the wild in game four like this. What are they made of? Are they the same old wild, right? Are they going to just kind of up, down Three one lost both home games there. There we go. Another first round exit. Are they going to come back, play the game of their season? I don't know if Zuccharel will be able to play. You kind of realize now after what Step on said to us on Monday, how important he is, like, they need him back. I don't know what's going on there, but that's another headshot that wild fans are furious about. That Myers gave him O.
C
Okay. And then how do you guys feel about, like, Felino getting whoever on the turnbuckle?
D
Harley.
B
That was so.
C
It's.
B
That was exactly. That's true.
C
So it's kind of like, what do they want? Do they want Ben? They want Ben gone? They want him sent to the electric chair? Is that what. Is that what they want?
A
Yeah.
C
I feel like that's a situation where you accidentally on purpose. It sucks that Boldy went down the tunnel, but he came back and had a goal or assisted on that goal like he was at the Olympics again. So, like, I agree with you, Whit. You can't really put it on the officials. If you're mini wild fans, you just want to go bananas because you hate Jamie Ben and he's a serial killer. But in the same breath, you got dirtiness going on on the other side as well.
B
And in terms of. In terms of the complaints about. They were also complaining about Duchenne on Foligno. That one knowing. Knowing Shane's game. That one, the shot was blocked and he just got tripped up on him and kind of landed on the back of his head. I did not think any part of that was. Was on purpose.
D
No, no, I agree. Do you think Minnesota goes with to Gustafson?
B
I don't know, because I think Wallsted's been pretty good.
D
Yeah, no, he has been good.
B
I mean, there's like one of those Buffalo and people are now bringing up Gustafson, but Ottinger, man, he stood tall, made some big saves. I mean, they also got lucky. Caprisov hit the post there at the end of the first overtime. I. This is. This is when we're gonna find out if this wild team is different than the rest of the teams that they've had that have had good chances to go on a little bit of a run and that have gone bowed out in the first round. So we're gonna learn a lot about this team in game four. We have a very special guest coming on, but first we do have to talk about Reese's. Some fans believe in terms of destiny, but I believe everything happens for Reese's. Just think about it. What is the one thing every team or athlete wants that's a championship? The guy coming on, he has one and he's got gold medals too. And why do you want a championship? Because half of them are called Cup, Stanley Cup, World Cup, Ryder cup, just like Reese's. Luckily, scoring a Reese's cup is way easier than winning a championship. It's almost like you were destined to get one right now. Because everything happens for a Reese's. Pick up one today. C
So quick other thing developing is I just saw this video. If you. It looked like. It looked like Russ kind of gave.
B
Oh, he gave him a little bit of a kick.
C
Gave him a little bit of a kick. So that was just a different angle that I hadn't seen before.
B
They're equal on the kicks.
C
Yeah, we had a kickoff.
B
Let's bring prongs in. He knows a little bit about that.
C
Speaking of pieces of next Leafs GM right there folks. Let's go, let's go. You got a great tan going right now.
F
Bronx Peptides.
E
That's right.
F
There's a lot of things you can do. There's a lot of things you can do for vitamin D. What?
C
Yeah, go ahead.
B
What's up, buddy? We just chatted. We chatted Philly, Pittsburgh, we chatted Minnesota, Dallas. I don't know if you have any thoughts on either one of those before we get into the Edmonton Oilers. And some thoughts I have there.
F
There seems to be, as in all playoffs, a lot of question marks around goaltending.
B
Yes.
F
And the other series are no different, regardless of pedigree. You know, Vasilevsky under the bus after game one in Tampa, you know, it's. It's that time of year, I guess, right?
B
No doubt, no doubt.
C
Do you have any emotional attachment to the, the Battle of Pennsylvania, having played for the Flyers? Like, how do you feel that series is gone. And, and maybe what would you have done differently to approach it if you were in that Penguins locker room, based on where they're at right now?
F
I, I have a little attachment.
E
Of course, I want players to win
F
first and foremost, but I think just what they went through the last, let's call it 30, 40 games, actually, really the first 40, when they were under under siege from fans. And you, you were a nice recipient of some of that vitriol. But I think as we've, as the scene has gone along and I think all of that, as all of that has transpired, you know, I think it creates some scar tissue. I think it brings them closer together as a group. And I think now we're seeing a byproduct of the development, I think the understanding of their systems and structure that talk. I think people, whether they realize or not, he's very sound defensively and in his structure and how he wants a team to play and against a team like Pittsburgh, that's, that's in his wheelhouse. So he's going to shut them down. And then they've got the offensive weapons to. Then, you know, with Tyson Forrester coming back and adding Porter Martone, they've got more offensive weapons and tip of taking his game to a next level. My God, I mean, think about the last time I was out with you and you know, talking about him and how inconsistent his second half of the year. If he can keep this going for the rest of his career, it's going to be an impressive stretch for him.
E
Personally, I think Prongs, you.
D
You played against talk and you know, obviously he's been around the league. You've been around the league. What do you see that, the way he played that he brings to this team because they're out there.
F
Well, as everybody knows, he played hard. A highly competitive, you know, I think, but. But from a. A grit standpoint, but then showing, showing up in key moments and, and being accountable, you know, I think that's something that I see with their team that maybe they were lacking more so than anything else. It's just the accountability to one another and, you know, playing. Playing the system, but then playing hard every single night and every single shift, it. It's, you know, it becomes contagious. And you're seeing that, I think, and him not caving maybe into the pressures of the fan base with the development of Matt vay, Mitkoff and some of the other younger players in forcing them to kind of learn the system and the structure that he wants them to play with without, you know, as they now understand that, and they kind of take hold of that without eliminating their offensive capabilities. You know, I think playing tight defensively, they get quick stops, they get in transition. Their defense score, gets it up quick. And then those forwards, they can move. And you see them playing with pace and speed and, and really attacking with a purpose. And I think that's something they've lacked in years past.
C
Progs. I think, obviously, after game three, one of the topics of conversations is Pittsburgh fans really feel like they got hoes. Like with the embellishment of Colin Crosby with the way that Connect Me went after Russia. Have. Have you ever been in series where you felt like you were getting the short end of the stick, especially after like, one particular game? And like, how do you.
F
Every single one of them. How changed every playoff series.
B
It's a joke.
F
The National Hockey League should be embarrassed.
C
I don't know. That's obviously.
F
You're.
A
You're.
C
You're joking, right?
F
Yes, I am joking.
B
Okay. Yes.
C
What? Like. But. But I'm sure that there's been a few games where you have been frustrated. What do you. How do you, like, act in the locker room? Like, what do you do to talk or settle down teammates or what's the. What's the appropriate approach for. For the way that Pittsburgh should handle it after maybe feeling that after game three?
F
Yeah, I mean, as you all know, they've got a very experienced locker room.
B
They've got.
F
They've been there, done that. They've been a part of countless teams on the highest stages. You know, I expect you'll get their best in game four. I think it's. It's more a calming and understanding. They still had plenty of looks from. With respect to power play. They really didn't generate a whole lot. They, they looked like they were struggling to move the puck around in zone. Philly did a really good job of pressuring at the right time and, and eliminating scene passes and eliminating the, the
B
middle of the box.
F
And, and in doing so, I think it really kind of angered them a little bit or maybe got them off, off their, their game. And, and then if you're, you're Pittsburgh, it's more just like it's, it's one game at a time. When you're down three zip, you're, you're on death's door. You have to really be focused on next shift. I mean the cliches come out obviously, but it's next shift, next period, next. Like there is nothing after this next game if they don't win. So it's a matter of finding some momentum, you know, getting, getting a lead and then holding the lead and trying to defend a little bit better because
B
they've struggled at times prongs going over to Minnesota and Dallas. I forgot to mention this part. If the Wild lose their 10th straight playoff series, that would be the longest in NHL history. Do you think they have what it takes to get back in this series? Win game four at home? And would you say if they lose that, go down three one, that's curtains for them this series?
F
If they go down three one, it's curtains.
E
Yes.
F
So this next game, you know, two, two or three one, I mean vitally important, especially with Dallas having home ice, that's, that's only going to add to the pressure and allow the momentum and the, the Dallas Stars to really confidence to continue to build. They're getting their big guys all engaged now offensively, which doesn't play into the Minnesota Wild winning very much. As you get Robinson involved and you get Wyatt Johnson involved. Yeah, he's looking great. Like he just. All of their younger weapons or mid tier weapons are playing at a high level and that's where they're most dangerous. And then you had rant and some of these other guys and it's a machine.
C
I didn't really get a chance to go into Haskin in too much before you hopped on prongs. Like who would you compare him to from your time? And like what do you see from this guy? He missed the last, I believe three games before playoffs started and there was maybe some question marks on whether he was even going to play. And I think he lugged 41 minutes last night.
B
And quickly we've, we had the discussion with you about number one defenseman I believe last night it was 10 minutes power play, 10 minutes PK and like 23 minutes, 5 on 5. That's kind of what you were talking about.
C
Does that qualify?
E
He's like, no, he's in the conversation now.
D
Did he have seven penalties? No.
E
Yeah.
F
How many cross checks did he inflict on his opposition? No, he's definitely in the conversation. He's had a great year. It's nice to see him, you know, come off last year with the, with the ACL and everything and, and to come back with the type of year he's had. He. He is as important a player on that team as, as anybody a. With the minutes. He logs. But how he dominates when he's out there. He's such a. A slick, simple puck mover. He's not flashy, makes a smart play. He's highly effective defensively. Such a great skater, elite edge work. You know, he's a fun player to watch. And you know, again, Haskin and McCarr, you know, three, four in the draft, it's. I don't know if there's a right
B
or wrong way to go.
F
I think if you're Colorado, you're thinking Dallas, but you know, he's. He's on a. He's starting to. I see his game getting to that elite level now where he's in the conversation for the NORA seat. He always left me wanting a little bit more, and now he's kind of getting over that hump.
C
He made a play on that first goal about 90 seconds into the game. He didn't get an assist, but I think it was Duchenne moved it to Robertson and Robertson's looking to go back door to Renton and he's getting in his middle lane, driving, and he doesn't even look at Robo. He goes right to Middleton and he locks up his stick and allows that seam pass to go over like, just. I just feel like his hockey intelligence from a 200 foot game and so many areas of the game that he touches, I think he's top, what, eight D men in the league for sure. Easily, if not top five. And to come out, like you said, to come off an ACL and do what he's doing, it's. It's pretty remarkable. I was, I was just going to quickly go back to Philadelphia. Did you remember having any funny or silly interactions with their crazy fans? I remember Sean Burke told me a story as he was playing there and they won 2:1 and he was leaving the rink and one of their own fans was like, you suck, Burke. And he's like, we fucking won two one. He's like, yeah, but the goal you let in was shit. And he's like, you cannot keep these fucking idiots happy. They're miserable.
F
And you know what they want? Perfection. My. My favorite experience was my first year preseason.
C
We are.
F
We are winning. I think it was five. Five one or five two? There's, like, two minutes left. And again. And there's, like, a guy five rows up back. I'm now firmly planted on the bench. I'm not leaving. There's two minutes left.
E
Do something out there, Pronger. Oh, my God.
F
I turn around, I look at him. I'm like, buddy, there's two minutes left.
B
He goes, I don't care. It's fine, too. Let's go.
E
Go find somebody. Do something.
F
I'm like, it's preseason bodybuild. The game is horror. They want it all the way to the final buzzer. They want it, which is awesome to see, fun to be a part of.
B
And. And, yeah, and they're. And they're. They're humming along. I am happy for those fans, even though they're scumbags.
C
We gotta ask him a little bit more about Mini Dallas.
B
No, Whit, I'm just so antsy to talk about Edmonton. If you have something else on Mini.
D
I got one from Minnie. I got one from Minnie just with Zuccarello. We saw it during the regular season, like, how much he means to that team. Yeah, obviously at his age, and he's not their best player on their team, but what he brings to that team is noticeable as even a fan watching. And I got to play with him, so I know he brings. You know, I know what he brings. But what can that team do with missing a guy like that who kind of just seems to settle everybody down, you know, makes the right plays when he needs to. He's lethal on the power play. But what. What. What does Minnesota need to do to kind of fill in for that role of him not being there?
F
Well, that's the hard part. It's hard to fill in a guy that is. Has that kind of patience and. And puck prowess. It follows him around.
D
He.
F
I don't know if he's the type of player you replicate with the Stars
C
or, pardon me, with.
B
With the Wild.
F
He. He kind of drives the bus as. As much as it goes through Caprio and. And Hughes, he's. He's there and is a. An incredibly important part of what drives our offense.
B
Yeah, he's just so skilled, too, and. And he's just such a veteran, but he's smart.
A
But.
F
But he's also really smart defensively. That goes unnoticed so much. He does a lot of the little things in the D zone. That gets quick turnovers or he's just. He's able to put a stick in the right spot to deny Elaine.
E
He's just.
F
He's a really smart hockey player.
C
Prong. Should McDavid be a healthy scratch for game three?
B
Okay. Biz had to go there to start it off. I knew he would. He's sending out tweets. Whit, you need to address this pathetic performance. I'll start off with this. I'm not panicked at all. I'm not panicked at all. Did I get a little ahead of myself? Ranting and raving how Ducks fans shouldn't even watch the series?
E
Yep.
B
Yeah, that one was probably a little bit ridiculous.
D
You're passionate.
B
It was. Yeah. I was just so fired up leading into game one on Monday. I, I. I pretty much have been open, honest, that I think McDavid's, like, the best hockey player I've ever seen. I can admit that was the worst two games I've. I've ever seen him play. Forget before the injury, and that is scary as hell, the way he looked after it. But even Game 1 and before the injury, in Game 2 prongs, I've never seen him have this many passes deflected. It was very odd. Like, all these plays where he's going under your triangle, through your legs. It seemed like he was trying to do too much, and it leads into, like. I think. I think it's. Everyone's well aware how bad this guy wants this. Like, he. He's obsessed with getting a Stanley Cup. They lose the gold medal, it makes this mean even more. I think he's just trying to do too much. And I know that sounds crazy, because he's usually able to do whatever he wants, but he just seems like the. The pressure is so high and he's wound so tight, it's almost like you need. You need a teammate to. To kind of calm him down a little bit. And the injury part, buddy, first Biz, you said it. He might have got cut. And that was definitely kind of like. Yeah, because there's skates around there. When Ekhom kind of falls over, then you see his ankle just goes in. He leaves the bench. It's like panic time. He comes back, and everyone's tweeting. And on our group chat, he's back. He's back. I said, well, let's Just see for a second. And he came back and you could tell, like, he is. He's.
E
He's.
B
He's kind of worried about it. He's not exactly himself. And then that play on the power play, that's one of the worst plays I've ever. That was. If that was Bouchard who made that play, Twitter might have burned to the ground. Yeah, and. And I think it was because, like, that's a play McDavid just spins out. And I. It was Luke Gadzick. I saw the clip of Hawking Kansas, and that's four or five crossovers. Boom, he's gone. And you could tell he's just. He doesn't feel right now. It did look better in the third period, but I want to give the Ducks some credit. They put Gauthier up on the line with Leo Carlson and Troy Terry. Leo Carlson. Leo Carlson. Boys, if you remember that draft, it was. It was Bedard and then it was Fantilly, and Pat Verbeek went off the board and he took Leo Carlson. I'm gonna read you something very quick right now. This is regular season through the first hundred and two hundred one games for Carlson. Draisaitl's first 191 games. Dry Settle had 50 goals in 201 games. Carlson has 61. Dry Settle at 87 assists. Carlsen has 80. 123 points for Dry Settle, 141 points for Leo Carlson. I think we're looking at a legitimate superstar. He has looked so dominant in these games. He's so fast, so big. Gauthier comes alive. Edmonton, they're. They're in a series. I'm confident they're going to win, but they are in a series. Prongs.
F
I don't. I don't think you're looking at one.
E
I think he is one.
B
Yeah, you're right.
F
If you haven't watched, you know, much of much of their season, I don't watch a ton of Anaheim, but when I have, he has always stood out. And I think that injury in the middle part of the season, the thigh injury had, you know, you could see it. Him not being at the Olympics for Sweden really hurt them. You know, that was a key player in up the middle for them. And when you watch him, just the ability to control the play at all times. When he's out there, he has the puck on a stick.
B
Yep.
F
And he's kind of like McDavid, where he's just wheeling around looking.
B
But I think he.
F
He involved his teammates a little bit more, whereas McDavid wants to take it and kind of use his speed and kind of go through everybody. Carlson's giving and going and moving around and, and, and utilizing everybody on his, on his team. So it's. They, they play a little bit the same but, but differently. And you know, you, you talk about
E
the stats,
F
you know, it, it's going to be interesting to see what Pat Verbi does with this next contract with Leo Carlson because it's, you know, he's
C
just don't handle it like the Zegras one.
F
Yeah, exactly. From what I've heard, the numbers are pretty bad. You just brought up Dry Seidle. That's the number that I heard.
B
Yeah. And it makes. And prongs are right. And I gotta shout out. Merle's biz morals was saying he should go number one overall then. And there's part of me right now I'm like, I'm not. This is not a Bedard.
C
I would take him over Bedard in a second right now. I know not to like, hey, Bedard's going to be awesome. He had a great first half of this year. Like, he's got superstardom in his future too. I just like, I mean you're looking at a guy who's like an Anze Kopitar or a Barkov, right? Like, you look at a guy who's going to what Kopitar put up in his prime, 100 point seasons where he was fucking all over the ice, doing everything just a big mongoloid, like just leaning on you. You can't move him. He's built like a brick shithouse. Like this is what he is. Like, that's what you, that's what you win with. That's your prototype. If you could make a number one center in a lab, you're Leo Carlson. And he. People keep also saying that and I kind of see it too and I get why they say it. He moves like for like, like Forestberg, like Peter Forsberg. The way he's able to stick, handle and control the puck. For a guy his size, it almost tight spaces. It's unnatural. Like I'm like, how does he do that?
B
Yeah, he's huge. He's. He skates like the wind. And it's just like I'm. I'm watching him more closely. Obviously right now I'm like, this guy's a problem. And then you got Gaultier and Troy Terry's playing real well now. Edmonton, really, what's up?
F
One thing I will add is that I think the other thing the Ducks are Not scared of Edmonton.
D
Right.
F
I think, I think they've seen, you know, they have just as much pace to their game and speed. They're young, they've got skill. So from that perspective, and you could argue if you look at the back end, they're probably a little more higher end. When you add in Lacombe for Schrager. Carlson.
D
Carlson's been good.
F
Carlson edition. You know, for the power play, you know, it's, you know, they, they match up really good with them.
B
They do.
F
From an offensive perspective. If Edmonton can. Edmonton can tighten things up, you know, and, and not force things. I think at times when they don't get a lot of looks, they get frustrated because they want to be an offensive juggernaut. They want to score goals. It just, it's sometimes it's about being patient. Winning a 2:1 game.
C
And you talk about number one D man, that Jackson, the comb bro.
E
He's a student.
C
He's averaging 25 minutes this series. He played 26 in and a half game one three assists last game. I think that he's. I mean, do you classify him as a number one yet or just well on his way?
E
He's.
B
He. He be.
F
He's tre. I mean, he's still developing his, you know, weaponry, if you will. But he's in the. The as you talked about Haskin in and where he is on that list. You know, he's in that next year, you know, looking to move up into that Norris conversation every single year. Yo, he's that good.
B
We haven't even mentioned his cold shoulder to Hyman in the first game. That was just a perfect. I mean, Hyman left the game. You know, luckily he's okay now. Edmonton side. Thank God Leon came back. Leon in game one, he looked like he. He hadn't missed a game. Like it was incredible the way he was able to come back. He dominated. He made that play on the winning goal where he got into the zone. He actually went by Lacombe there. That was a little bit of like, holy, I thought I had him. He's that good. But in game, in. In game two, they're still never out of it. It's. It's crack hockey, the Oilers playoffs. It's legitimately the Joker with his head out the window, screaming and yelling in Gotham. It's like you were on crack watching this team play. They tied it up and then to give up that goal. What was so upsetting is Ekholm. Who. Him and Bouchard have been great. They really have. Echolm makes a nice Play, retrieves the puck in his own zone. He gets the net. He has the easiest reverse of all time to Leon. Like, the guy's kind of on him. I think it was polling, and he doesn't reverse it. He gets the net on polling, has room to skate, and ices the puck down. It was like, oh, my God, you could have reversed it to your sentiment. I don't know if Leon's talking enough. Who knows, in terms of, like, communication. Then you ice the puck and they score. It's like. It's just simple mistakes. We've seen a lot of plays in the playoffs so far of dumb icings. We talked about Zadorov in game one for Boston, where you're like, God, like, this team's been through so much and they're battle testing the playoffs. And then a mistake like that bites him in the ass at the end.
C
We got. We got bad icings making guys delete their social media right now.
B
Oh, yeah, Kirby. Doc, that's another one. That's another one. But. But I'll say, Oilers fans, there's been some tweets about Ingram's numbers. So far, they're not great. I still feel more comfortable in that look with him than I did Skinner. Maybe that's just me trying to, like, hold on, hope. What?
D
Yeah. That's crazy.
C
Are you on crack?
D
England looks like a beer league.
B
I don't think they've lost these games because of him. And I remember each year, Skinner, while they did win games because of him, especially in the conference finals against Dallas, they would lose games because of them early on. That's where I'm at right now. You told Biz if before this series, you said that McDavid wouldn't have a point, they wouldn't have a power play goal, and Bouchard wouldn't have a point. I. I'd be like, they're tied one, one. I.
C
That's fair. So what do you. What do you. What do you guys make of. Of that play? Like, Bush is unbelievable. Like I said, give him the Norris if you guys want. Like, the season he had numbers wise, especially after a tough start and the resilience he's had. He cross checks McTavish on that first goal. Like, clear cross check. Like, should have been sitting for two. So then McTavish gets up, he goes at him, he tries to lift the stick, and he nicks him. And then Bouchard just stops playing and looks at the ref and is like, hey, what the. Call a penalty. And then, boom, it's in the Back of the net where it's like, buddy, you just got away with a cross check and then you just completely stop playing and then it's in your back at your net. Did you see that sequence Prongs?
F
I didn't see that one, no, but you described it perfectly.
D
Yeah, that just goes. But biz that goes to like, maybe they thought going into this series, like they're just gonna walk through them and then a little bit of adversity and shit's gonna go to their heads and they lose their minds. Cause Boosh is a calm player like when shit goes down. So maybe just Anaheim has them in a blender a little bit.
C
I think. I think that is the case. If you mentioned Leon, if it wasn't for Leon, I think that line in general, like, there's no wonder he loves playing with pod closing that Kapanen like, he's gotta be on the Peptides for sure, the way he's going.
D
Yeah, he's been good.
B
Well, he's one of those guys.
F
Yeah. There you go.
B
Maybe it helps, right? Prongs like, you miss time and then you come back healthy. You're kind of like more rested, some. Some better legs maybe. Sorry for getting up there. Had to have a quick hose. But I. I talked about Philly's fourth line. I have never heard of Tim Washy, Ian Moore or Jeffrey VL. They're. They're dominating right now.
C
The Dr. Washy was playing second line center for them for a little bit during the season when they had a few injuries. Like, he's a solid player and G
B
saying VL came from Boston, so I mean, that Oilers are in what. I'm confident they're going to win this series. Bronx. Do you.
F
By the way, Ian Moore is a defenseman.
D
Is he number three?
B
Yeah, he's. He's running around.
F
He plays both.
B
He plays both. Yeah.
D
Anyone can do that. We all know as D. As D, you know, you can just shut your brain off. If you want to be a forward, just shut your brain off and go play forward.
B
Well, you know what? Gudis misses the game. Kind of surprised. I don't know if that's an injury. I think it's an injury, but that was what I thought would be a bigger loss than it was. Anaheim looks really good. Back to the pond play should be electric. Prongs, we appreciate you coming on, dude. I don't know if you have any other thoughts.
D
He's got skin in the game on every team. He's an alumni of every team in the playoffs.
F
Utah Carolina, technically. Hartford.
D
Yeah. Anaheim, Edmonton.
B
Philly.
D
He's got everyone. So that is true. Yeah, he's gonna win it.
F
He's gonna win all four corners of the globe. We got him.
C
But the real reason we got you on is.
B
I knew this was coming.
C
What would you do with the Leafs? Rebuild? Retool.
F
That's the great question. Biz, you know, we.
B
What are you doing?
F
Your resume.
C
What are we doing? I. I slept in for my Zoom meeting with Pelly. No, I missed it. Yeah. I clemented myself. I took a gummy the night before and I slept in.
D
You Luke Quand?
C
I Luke Quand hard on that one. But I did mention that I. I don't think six assistant gms is enough. That's what they had last year. We're going to move to nine. And you were one of the guys I have at my round table. So I just want to let you know that, like, I'm a ride or die. But do. Do you have. So. So have you been asked by any team and. Or are you interested in. In like, taking that type of role? Because obviously you've been doing a lot of media and you're great at it, and it's good hearing the insight from a, you know, a Hall of Famer. But are you more interested in getting into the. To, like, the. The battle again?
F
I've talked to a couple teams
B
just
F
about different positions, coaching, you know, managing, whatever. You know, again, as I said, I'm always willing to have a conversation and hear what the opportunity looks like, both on my side and their side. You know, what. What they're interested in and, you know, nothing's gone further than that.
C
Are you. Are you able to say what teams. I'm doing what I'm doing.
B
Just rooting on every team in the playoffs. Yeah.
F
I've got four teams in the mix right now.
D
Biz Dean is playing with house money.
B
Yeah.
C
How long does it take you prepare to prepare for like a meeting like that. And you. You, obviously, it seems like you're talking to each team maybe about different potential roles. So what's like the prep like going into a meeting like that?
D
Just wake up, he's Chris Pronger, dude.
F
No, you know, I think you have to look at what a, what the role is, and then B, you know what, you got to dissect, you know, hockey ops, you got to dissect the team. You got to look at prospects. You got to look at everything to see where they are, you know, in their. Every team goes through cycles and that's. That's where you have to figure out where they are, what they need where they are and how to present what you would do. And, and it's going to vary. Everybody's going to be different. I, I, as, as, you know, I tend to just say what's on my mind and I have my own views and opinions, and sometimes they fit some people and other times they don't. But I'm not going to change that part of it. It, it, you know, certain. If you're asking about your leaves, you know, I think it really just depends on what Matthews wants to do. You know, he's the, he's the centerpiece of their organization. If he wants to come back, then what does the number look like? You know, it's not, it's not a blank check anymore to keep them. It's, you know, we want to fit you in under our structure and salaries. Salary are pay to roll. What we want to justify paying you to then fill in around you. And as we've seen with other teams and, you know, we, it's. It's Toronto, it's. He's going to make a lot of endorsements and all the rest of that. He wants to be a part of it, and he did. I, he doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild, which I don't blame him. You know, that will take a little bit of time to go through the whole ordeal of draft picks, which they don't have currently. They're going to have to get.
B
All right, so it's a, it would
F
be a big process.
C
All right, Last, last, quick one. If you could pick your dream situation with an organization right now, who would it be and what would the role be?
F
I really thought about that.
C
All right. You know, because, again, that's an answer.
F
Yeah, exactly. If I could play again, that'd be great.
B
I'd love to go back out, spear someone. That's his dream.
F
Actually. Your next guest. I got his dad. I didn't get him, though.
C
They should get you in Buffalo to chug a beer and hit the drum. You can do better than Josh Allen.
B
Yeah, Prongs. Mentions. Our next guest. Prongs. Thank you so much. We're gonna get to him right now. We'll talk to you soon. Great. One quick. Before I get to these two quick ads, I do have to mention that McDavid has two points in his. Minus nine in his last six playoff games. So four of those were against the guy we're about to bring on. But before we get to Matthew Tkachuk, have you guys ever had a limp stick? Busy. Ever had a lipstick? And I'm not talking about on the ice either. Busy boy. D
I got. I got a statement first. Besides, Stella Blue is incredible. Did you. Did you hear when Prongs was talking about Toronto, a lot of wheeze he was saying.
B
Well, he had already said that. I did not. I think it was with Overdrive. He's like, I did not interview for the GM position. But he did not deny interviewing for maybe another position.
D
Oh, okay.
B
I honestly thought he'd say, I don't want anything to do with that organization because Biz has an alumni jacket. Never played for the team. But I.
C
There is.
E
I'll.
C
I'll just leave it at this. There is a strong possibility that that jacket will not return.
B
Yeah, yeah, it makes sense that that jacket should be. You should just maybe light that thing on fire at your Jackson Hole home and just move on and that the fans probably want you to move on and just find another team. You've had 15 different teams through the course of your career as a podcaster. Maybe look to get a jacket from somebody else. I'm sure Ryan Smith would give you one.
C
Maybe I get the address of our next guest and I send it to him.
B
Bring him in. Matthew Tkachuk, everyone. He's finally taken a couple months off in the playoffs. Congrats. You're a new dad.
D
But another trophy.
B
Hey, more than anything, Matt, congrats to your brother and the Ottawa Senators because Kyle Ivan, he's in Asia. And if you don't know who Kyle Ivan is, everyone, that's the lead singer of that band that has mushed the Senators two years in a row. They sent him to Wuhan. I think he's in Wuhan right now. He's gone. Matthew, what's up?
E
What's up, boys? How are you guys doing? Yeah, I think that's good news for. For everybody in. In Ottawa right now. It was. I don't know. It was. I actually went to that game on.
D
On.
E
What was it? Monday they played well, but it's. Fuck. Carolina plays hard.
D
It's.
E
It's a grind of a series right now, so hopefully I can get one back in Ottawa.
C
Is there any truth to the rumor that Big Ceeze is doing a mixtape right now, preparing for a. A song for you guys for next year's run?
D
Stop.
E
I don't know. I mean, I don't. I don't think anything will. Anything will screw it up unless we do what we did this year. But we don't. We don't let that shit bother us there. But for Ottawa, I mean, they don't need any more of that attention stuff. Just let the boys play.
C
Yeah. Yeah, no, exactly. So it must have been weird, like seeing that goal disallowed and then they have to like half the lower bowl. They like thought the game was over and they left and then they weren't. They weren't allowed to come back in the building. So you were there to. To kind of witness all that?
E
Yeah. Well, first of all, it was weird that I was even there. I told my brother I had like a handshake agreement with him that if I was ever not in playoffs. And he was, which to me, I was like, there is no chance this is ever going to happen. So I guess that was some bad karma for me. So I. I held up my end of the bargain. I'm like, I will go. I'm not going to Ottawa. But I. First of all, those fans there were super nice. Like, they're actually like really, really, really good people. And you don't really realize when you're watching it from not being a player how loud that building gets. Like what an. Like probably that building and Edmonton game six two years ago and then Colorado playoff series, like my second or third year. The loudest buildings other than Florida, like, or Calgary, like being in a way building for a playoff game. So really, really cool. Goal disallow was weird. We got right up went. We had some people waiting for us to bring us down to see Brady. So we got out of the elevator downstairs or waiting in that long hallway in Carolina and I look at the ice and I see some of the players on Carolina haven't left the bench yet. So I go and I look and they're showing stuff in the jumbo trying. I got no idea what's going on. All of a sudden they come out disallowed, go. And Ottawa's like management and like their eye in the sky and everybody walked by us already. So they came down from the press box to go into the locker room. So they're all walking by us, everyone's like in a, you know, not a great mood. They announce it and we all race to the elevator, go back up to like our club area and yeah, I got to watch the rest of it. I mean Ottawa, they played good. Carolina is just stingy. Like they play really, really solid. I think that it'll help Ottawa going back home because I do think Carolina is a little bit of a different team on road versus home with the starts and like the energy they come out of the gate at home. Like you gotta just hold on. It seems like at the start, but going back home it'll be good. I think everybody knows it doesn't matter what you do in playoffs until you lose a game at home, then you're screwed. So I mean this thing can still go the distance here.
D
Matthew. Timmy. Timmy Stutzel, he's been, he's been all over it, right? Like he's getting opportunities, he's got great looks at it. Just hasn't, hasn't found it yet. Like what do you think will take for him to pop off? Because it looks like he's on the verge of just popping off and being an absolute menace out there.
E
Yeah, he's dancing. He was definitely dancing in that game too. I think with Carolina, like they're not going to give you anything easy. So like you have to be willing to beat a guy, man on man and put that head down and take it right to the fucking that like you just, you gotta do it like it's, it's a hard system to play, but it is hard to play against. So I mean I look for all that even like a telling Brady too. Like when you're playing a team like that that really leaves like if the D is man on man, like they're going out to the point, like they're anywhere. They'll go anywhere with you, they'll chase you up and down the ice.
C
I was, I was a pre game meal.
E
I was talking to my, I was talking to my dad about it during, during the game. I'm like watch like Chatfield had the guy that was stretched out in like a neutral zone breakout and his guy came all the way back below the goal line. And normally when you come back in most systems, like the forwards take the low three. He followed the guy all the way back. So it really comes down to one on one battles against these guys. And I was telling Brady like if you're at the net, scream for that puck. Trust yourself in a One on one matchup in front of the net against whoever you're stronger than majority of their players and just trust it. But they got to start throwing stuff to net. You saw, I don't know who scored the second goal, just throw it there. And it was never know what could happen.
B
And then, and then that's when I was thinking like, all right, Anderson sucked one in finally like they were, you know, it's two nothing. Carolina, you're like, oh, they get back into it. They tied up on a weak goal, but Anderson's been good. What's surprising to me is that Omar's been incredible. I thought if Omar played like this, they had him. Now the series is far from over. I do want to mention the Hurricanes are now 14 and oh in their first two home games of any playoff run. So it's like the. One of the responses was the opposite of the conference finals. But in the first round, their first two home games, they, they don't lose. So it's like Ottawa's got to be prepared for, you know, going down there and having a tough time getting a win. But I think they go home based on how they're playing. I think they're able to get it to 2 1.
E
Yeah, I bet. I, I talked to, I just talked to my brother after the game. Quickly I go, the thing that you guys got to take away from this game is first of all, there's some guys on the team that look a little bit tired, look a little bit worn down with some of physicality. But that's every team. I mean, some of the Ottawa guys look like that too. But at least they know you're for real, you know, like they know you guys should have won that game the way you guys played in the second half and. But Carolina did dominate in that first half of the of half of that game. And if it wasn't for all, market would have been probably five or six one after two. But he's been playing amazing. That save you made to keep me in the game, I think it was two nothing. Then next thing you know, a few minutes later and my dad said, remember that save? Two minutes later, five minutes later, it's two two. So playoffs are nuts. But as long as you have a hot goalie like that, that's the best thing for their team right now is how well he's playing and just gotta keep it going.
D
Matthew, game one, obviously you said, you told us you were there. Brady drops the mitts first. Shit.
E
Game two, I was there. Game two, I missed, I missed that first.
D
Oh, you missed game. Okay, so game one. Did he give you a text or anything before that? Like, you guys set it up during.
C
Yeah,
E
no, I. I had no idea. I was on a boat down to. Down to Miami with my team for end of the year bash.
D
And you don't even see the game?
E
Yeah, I didn't even watch. So I'm getting, like, all these texts. Like, you see what Brady did? Like, it was awesome. Like, fight was sick. And I'm just, like, putting myself in, not Brady shoes, but, like, any other player in the league shoes. Like, the way playoffs are that first day, it doesn't matter if you're playing in, like, if you're playing in the playoffs or not. Like, you're all kind of glued into what's going on, what type of playoffs this is going to be. And I really think that fight set the tone. I mean, the east is an absolute insane display of. I don't even know if it's hockey right now. It's like WWE with a little bit of hockey being played on the side. Like, it's. It's crazy. It's a lot more physical.
C
And you guys started that trend.
D
Yeah. Copycat league.
B
Yeah.
E
Well, I mean, I don't. I would. I. People say that. I don't remember our games being quite like that. I just think that we just.
C
Are you out of your mind?
E
I just think we just had some animals.
C
You're alive.
E
I'm have to go watch the. I'm gonna have to go watch the game tape.
D
Benny's gonna win the Lady Bing next year.
C
You're the reason that f. Tampa Bay got Scotty Sabrin in their lineup. You basically made that, that, that, that. But even.
E
Even. Even look at, like, Buffalo. I mean, Montreal. Like, I've. I've only watched a little bit of. Of that series because I've been more glued to Buffalo and Boston because what I'm seeing from Buffalo is, like, the greatest thing in sports right now. But I've barely been watching Tampa and Montreal. But, like, you got to give both those teams credit. Like, they're playing hard, and Montreal is, like, staying right there. And, like, they almost are instigating some of, like, Josh Anderson. I was saying it on. On our pod the other day, like, he might be Con Smythe right now. Like, playoff. Best playoff player right now. Like, he's dominating. Like, he's killing guys. Like, I would not want to play against him right now. I'd have my head on a swivel out there against him, but he's and
D
then vintage Tom Wilson.
E
Yeah, he's like, kind of like playing like Benny and Wilson. Like these guys that can go through. You could put it in. Like, you just gotta watch. And he's like, hitting the hurt too, which is. Those guys are scary to play against. Like, they're not just hitting the. Add another hit on the statue.
D
Like, they're.
E
They're trying to do some damage. So, yeah, playoffs. Playoffs are crazy. And all these series, especially in the Eastern, are. Are pretty fun to watch. I mean, it's so. It sucks so much, like, from my perspective too, because we know what these games feel like, and here we are watching these teams, like, going absolutely insane and knowing they have a chance to win. And it just makes you wish that you were in it so bad. It doesn't matter what we've done the last few years. It's. What have you done for me lately? League.
B
I want to go back. I want to go back quickly. Biz to the. The no goal. The Janikowski no goal. All right, so I have a couple friends that don't really watch hockey till the playoffs and talk about confusion for people. They're like, all right, hold on. So goal was called back because it's offsides, but then you can get a penalty in a play that basically didn't exist, considering the play before that was offsides. I get it too. I'm like, as a. As a former player and a guy who covers the NHL, like, that just makes no sense to me.
D
I don't.
C
Well, they do. They do it to protect the fact that, like, okay, like, let's say two minutes goes by. Well, one minute into it, the guy suckers a guy in the jaw. What are you knocking? He doesn't get the penalty for sucker him in the jaw because that time didn't exist. I. They should then if. If to clean that up, make it so like. Like. Like anything. Like a. Like a rough or something physical would be a penalize, where maybe like a. Like a hook or a trip.
E
Wouldn't maybe just like a major penalty. Call it a penalty. Everything else had never happened. Because that is crazy how you can call a penalty shot after like a little stick lift that. I don't even know if it should have been a penalty shot. And then everybody's jacked up on. Everybody's pissed off in the stands that it's no goal, but then they get a penalty shot. So they're jacked up again. Half the people are gone. It was bizarre. That was weird.
C
It was a bizarre scene. I just Hate the rule where they're like, he had possession, but they're saying he didn't have control.
B
That's the problem.
C
It's so stupid. He clearly did play.
B
And the thing is now Matthew, you know it better than anyone. Like, all right, you know how many good players have possession of the puck without the puck on their stick? Like, I think of Kucherov, how he's, like, carrying it, but his stick isn't always on the puck. Like, it doesn't. If you have possession, you have control. Like in the NHL, you got possession, you got control. You can't tell me, oh, yeah, possession didn't have control. That is where I think fans are. Like, what, What?
C
It was dumb.
B
What is Rewrite the rule.
E
Like, even. Well, you can put it in Krov's feet he that possession. But, like, if you. Even if you like, stab at a puck or poke check a puck, like that's possession, you're intentionally doing that. It hits your stick. You're not just. You're not blocking a shot. You know, like, it's. I mean, but even if you. If you block a shot, it hits your stick, you don't have possession. You still get an assist if it goes to somebody for a goal. So it is. It is weird. I feel like if it just touches your stick, it should it. I don't know. That's. That's a tricky one because. Yeah, I mean, they got to figure that out because that. That can't happen again. What happened there can't happen again. They got to figure out the whistle after and everything. It's just. It's confusing and I don't really understand it.
C
I want to go back to. I. You talked about it earlier, about how crazy Carolina, that building is and the fans and like, surviving the first 10 minutes. When me and Yan's played with. With Arizona, it felt like every time we went to San Jose during the Joe Thornton Marlowe, like, the first 10 minutes, it was like, oh, boys, just hang on.
B
Too many men. Oh, I'm about to bust.
C
But. And you were also talking about it on your podcast, how fans and like, they can dictate momentum and how you played in a series against Colorado where you say early in your career where you felt that for really the first time early just kind of maybe describe and go through, like, the emotions and. And what can be done on the road with fans getting crazy and how can it can affect you as a road team?
E
Well, I give credit to our fans here in Florida as well, because, you know, we could have. We could have Barky winding up the puck in the D zone, and they're getting to their feet. They know something potentially is going to happen. So they're loud. Like, same thing with Carolina. And I go back to Colorado. Earlier in my career, anytime there was change of possession, they were transitioning. Like, they were coming in waves. Like, just wave after line after line. And they were going so insane, like, you couldn't even think. You couldn't hear the coach calling the name for the next line. You couldn't, like, hear the guy coming off. You couldn't make a little play because you couldn't hear your. Your guy there calling for it. So fan noise and energy, whether they know it or not, plays an enormous part in playoff hockey. Absolutely huge. For even. I mean, I know this. This sounds a little bit crazy, but, like, even in a scrum, it always works. The momentum of the home team. So you look at that, like, scrum yesterday in the Pittsburgh Philly game, I'm sure you guys have, like, talked about, all right, that was nuts. But, like, that only works towards the home team's Romano. That's. That's the only thing it does. Like, it really does nothing, nothing to, in a way, team, in a sense. So, like, away team could be, you know, now, boys, it's us against the world, but you got to have dogs. They have that mindset. So it's. It's tough. I mean, you. You got to be careful to get sucked into certain things. Then again, that's going against, like, what I was talking about with Brady against Stall, because I think for both teams there, like, you're just showing both your teams, like, let's fucking go. This is a war. Like, boys, strap up. This is going to be the toughest atmosphere we're ever going to play in. Like, we're ready to fight our way out of it. So I look at it both ways. Like, you know, can work in that situation, but then in that last night, I mean, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, or, sorry, Philly dominated the rest of the night. And because their fans just saw something that they needed to rally behind, they got behind it so, so much. They were so loud, so passionate. Then they take over the game. So they. They have a huge part. They definitely play an enormous part. I mean, I think about when we played in. We played in playoffs. Oh, man, what was it, two years ago or. Or last year when we were playing against the. The Rangers, I felt like we were a better team than the Rangers. And when we were playing in New York, like, those were some hard, hard games. Like, they. They were. They were loud and it was. It was hard to think out there. So I remember that was definitely one atmosphere that. That was really good that I can remember here being Florida.
B
That's just a nice reminder to Rangers fans listening how they were conference finals two years ago and they haven't sniffed the playoffs since. But.
E
Not what I meant. But, hey, talk about.
B
I know how. Talk about. We're talking about dogs. And you know as well as anyone, Brandon Hagel, buddy, you go back to February 2025 in. In Montreal, the fight you guys had, what he's kind of done since being in tampa. I mean, 90 point guy, he fights. And what he did against Slavkovsky and the reaction from the crowd, the Gordie Howe hat trick, like. Like, that kid's a player, huh?
E
Yeah. That him and Slavkovsky are probably the two best players, along with Anderson in that series. Right. When you look at, like, production and just, like, being hard to play against and physical, like, you know, the playoff hockey, we're being both being able to produce and being physical. So I love seeing, like, fights like that when two guys that, like, don't care. Like, somebody said it during the. The broadcast last night, maybe Biz, were you. Were you in? Yeah, you were on it last night. Maybe it was you.
C
Yeah.
E
Where it's like, at the end of the day, like, these scrums are like, why don't you just fight? Like, enough with this stuff.
C
Yeah, I said, like, after the first. Yeah. Got everybody going, but, like, I would be happy if I never saw one the rest of the game. Like, let's play good high flying pace action. And I was happy when Hagel and Slap went. Because it's like that goal. Yeah, just go.
E
That's my point right there. It's like, like, at the end of the day, like, these two guys. I mean, Hegel fights more than Stafkovsky, but, like, Savkowski's a big guy. Like, can, you know, handle. I mean, he's. He's a huge man. Like, that's strong and like, obviously he's gonna have to do that once in a while, so. I thought it was awesome that. That fight. I actually wasn't even watching the game at the time because I was watching the boys at Buffalo and the rollerblade guys. But it's. It's awesome. I think playoff hockey is the best. You think about a couple years ago, Stamcos and Matthews fighting, they both had, like, 60 goals or 50 goals. Like, it's the best. I remember one of the highlights of my. My playoff experience so far here in Florida is just the atmosphere when I fought pastrack that game. Like, that was one of, like, the coolest moments, like, from. I mean, just from my end being at home and having the home crowd rally behind that and. And playing against Boss and so th. Those stuff. Those stuff add up in series. I thought it was great from both of them to really answer your question. And two great players that are definitely dragging their teams in the fight. And the series is pretty legit right now, so maybe I have to start tuning a little bit more in.
D
Hagle. Hagel, like, it's just a ho. It's a good hockey IQ thing to fight him because Slav has the hat trick in the first game, wins it for them in overtime. And then after he. I mean, he kind of knocked him out. And slapp was not very good after that fight.
C
He fucking turned it over to him on that tying goal.
D
Yeah, so it was. It was a very play by. By Hagel. And Hagel, too, knows I'm not like, this crazy tough guy. I'm one of our best players. He's. He can't not say yes to me in this fight. I thought it was a really smart play by Hagel.
E
Admon, at the end of the day, like, those two guys and those two teams, like, I don't think, like I said, people give Montreal the credit for maybe because they're a little bit younger and maybe just not as much playoff experience, but there's some dogs over there. Like, they. They've. They've given us a little bit of a hard time the last couple years. Like, they're. They're legit.
A
Don't.
E
Don't sleep on those guys for. Just for being skill guys. Like, they got. I mean, look at Anderson, him leading the way. They've got some. They've got some boys that can play hard. Their defense is really, really underrated. I think so. Yeah, it's. It's awesome. It's great for hockey. That.
C
That shit's the best since you brought it up. The Blade Gang. How many times did you watch that original video?
D
I've been it.
E
I watched it.
D
He's in the Blade game.
E
I've watched it 1,000 times. The point where I was, like, daydreaming about getting rollerblades and hopefully winning another cup and taking the cup with the blades from my house down to elbow room. Like, that's how sick my brain is. But the best video I saw was the guys rollerblading last game from the house. Yeah, like, which isn't. There's not any houses close to downtown. Like, I was trying to think about my. Where could they be? That's like close enough.
C
Like.
B
And then somebody said, imagine them on the highway. Hey. Somebody said imagine them rollerblading home in the dark after the lawsuit.
C
I didn't even look at it.
E
But I will say this is. This playoff series is starting to become like a battle. The fans, I think more than what's going on on ice, I think the Bruins fans got to recognize that what's going on in Buffalo is like all time right now. Like we're talking an all time legendary fan base and the stuff they've been pulling. So I gotta see what the Bruins fans have in store. I'll be glued to Twitter tonight with my.
C
Would if. If you. If you had creative control on how to rebuttal that, what would you do? I mean, they put a Cam Neely jersey on a UFC dummy and they've. They've been abusing this thing for four days now.
E
Yeah, I think that. And this is, you know, me being like a new Blade Gang or whatever you're calling. I'm like super fan. But I think what. I think what they got to do in Boston is either all show up, like have hundreds of people show up on. On rollerblades.
D
I think you skateboard, or you do
E
one of those dummies that they're doing with the knee leisures. You put that thing on rollerblades and just beat the out of it and send the message like we're why are you doing this here?
C
Blow it up with dynamite maybe.
E
But they got. They got to. It's a battle between the fan base right now. And I'm all for it. I think it's hilarious.
C
Yeah. What a Bruins fans gonna do to. To. To step it up here.
E
That's what I'm waiting to see.
C
I think they should get Cam Neely out there. Dummy and a couple sabers dummies.
D
I think he's tying his rollerblades right now.
E
I was just about to say they should. They should hire a. Just like put one of their buddies in a Savers jersey on rollerblades and have an drugs.
B
He's basically on rollerblades. So they might. They could just do that.
C
I was gonna say if Ra had a spine, he would kidnap. Kidnap the Blade Gang and they'd fucking Celtic pride style. Celtic pride style. Bring them to outside of. What is it? The Garden and just beat the fucking wheels off him.
D
Cam Neely should. Cam Neely should wait outside of the arena and be like, who wants a piece?
A
I'll tell you what we're not gonna do. And we're not gonna have our quarterback go up there and chug a half full beer and then spike it and just leave Josh. Momentum of the game.
B
Biz was all over this biz. I was surprised you were giving it
C
to Josh Allen online, buddy.
A
He.
C
He went. He went to a homecoming game to get his jersey retired at his old university, and they got worked. Worked by a team that had one win. And then all of a sudden, no Mahomes, no Kansas City Chiefs. It's his chance to win a Super Bowl 400.
D
Put this smut on Josh, dude.
C
Buddy. He. You set the tone By Yance. What happened when you bang the drum with biz idiot on there? What happened?
D
Turned the series around.
C
No, that's what I'm saying.
E
Yeah. And how about. What was the one year that when we had guys banging the drum here and we were like, like 0 for 7 when, like people affiliated with the Dolphins.
D
Yeah.
E
But anybody else. We were undefeated.
D
That's when I had to come in. They had two. And then the next game I was like, give me the drums.
C
Yeah.
E
And then I think somebody came in for. I don't know who he had for game five. I think it was Bobby Lou came in for seven and it was just the best thing ever. And then we like, we normally. They kind of. We kind of know in the morning, like, who's coming if it's somebody big. And it was before Game 6 last year, and somebody saw Lou and like gave like the old, like, hey, you doing it again? Like, kind of joking around. I. I don't know if this is true or not, so don't like necessarily quote me, but he just gave like the, like the, like the little head nod, wink or whatever, and I'm the closer. That's when you knew. That's when we knew we were gonna win.
F
Yeah.
D
Mariano warming up in the back.
C
I should have kidnapped Louis.
B
Breaking break. Not. I shouldn't say breaking news, but on Twitter right now, and I can ask you about this, Matthew, is Alex Lyon in the starter's net?
D
Leo the Lion.
B
So Lindy Ruff had made a couple comments where it was, you know, it was open to interpretation that he could be starting. This guy carried you into the playoffs one year. It seems like he does that and then doesn't play in the playoffs. I know when Bob came and everything switched a few years ago, but what do you know about him and how good of a guy is he to take over the net for Buffalo.
E
He is an absolute gamer, 100% gamer. Unreal guy. The only thing that I don't necessarily love about some teams in playoff hockey though is you kind of have like a 1A 1B. Like I don't know if that works in playoffs. Like you got to have a dog that kind of runs. So hopefully like lion can be that guy that like just runs and takes it over from now. But like, he is. We are not two time. I know you guys might think this crazy, but we do not win the last two Stanley Cups. We do not go to the finals the year before without him. He was kind of the guy that like got it going. And then Bob came back in that first round against Boston. But his numbers, like, you guys will have to look this up after I'm done. But like his numbers in the last eight or 10 games to get us in the playoffs were still so unreal that it like earned him this contract with Detroit and then Buffalo. Like he was so good in like the smallest sample size. But it was. Everything about him too is his. Like we're playing Lion King. He's having us play Lion King music for our wind song after like little that he was just rally. We were rallying behind him. He's like chirping players on the other team in like a pretty animated goalie. But I'm sure I don't know if you guys remember like him walking into the rink for that games one and two against the Bruins that year and he's staring at the camera all the way, you know, like the camera's there, right? Like he's eyeing it down. And he's our fucking starting goalie that night, so nothing rattles him. I think he's actually like the, the. The lights are not too bright for him at all. Like he loves it. He lives for these types of games and his numbers are 61 and 1
D
with a 944 GAA.
C
Who's who. Who called them the X factor in the. In the pre. Like the preseason previews.
B
Did you?
C
Yep.
A
Okay.
C
I fucking did. Yan's laughed at me. He's like, yeah, do nothing.
B
I could tell the way you worded that one. Yeah, but you know what? In that series, Boston. What a response. Swayman is so dialed in right now. What I'm getting a kick out of is. Is Lindy Ruff who brought up Marco Sturm's comments again after losing. He goes, yeah, well you heard Sturm say they're bigger and more physical. So yeah, for sure. I'm A little worri, like, he. This. They just lost the game. He's still talking about it, but I think Boston did, man. They. They kind of took control physically in that game too. I can't wait to hear Ra's thoughts. But it was like, wow. Buffalo with the magical comeback and Boston, they. They were ready to go game two. And they know right now Swayman is as dialed as he's ever been. Swayman calling the time opens was amazing. He's like, hey,
C
we've been through this.
D
Yeah.
C
Grab a sniffer.
B
Yeah.
E
And I don't. I don't necessarily think, like, play against Buffalo this year. Like, there's some big boys on that team.
B
Like, they're not huge.
E
They're not necessarily like the most physical team, but either is Boston. Like, they're not like killers back there. Like, they've got some big D as well, but like Buffalo, they're, They're, they're big. The df long sticks, it's hard to get to the net on them. I remember a couple power plays against him this year. I'm like, holy, I can't even get the puck down low against these guys. Everything's deflected. It's cleared that Samuelson's hell of a player.
D
Yeah, he's really, really good.
E
But. And I guess Boston's got some guys like Zadora that'll hit you. I mean, their fourth line will run around a little bit. McCoy will catch you, but it's not. I don't know if you ever really want to give bulletin board material like. Like that at the beginning of a series. I think this. I think just be killers and be silent killers.
C
If it went to seven and. And you have the opportunity for Josh Allen to bang the drum. Matthew, are. Are you letting them bang the drum?
E
Yeah, for sure. Like, those guys, they get the crowd going. Like, if. More than anybody in the. It's all about momentum. Like I said earlier. Like, you get the guy and you get the biggest dog in the city to get that place shaken. I don't believe in like or Puppy. I don't believe in what's like superstition like that. If he's on, like, you know. Yeah. You lose even.
B
My problem is there's no one in Buffalo who's ever won a thing to come back and bang the frigging drum.
D
Yeah. Unless the guy who invented the buffalo wing comes out. Like, everyone else is just taking Ls.
B
Yeah, they should have a real Buffalo.
C
No, they should get that rapper who's from there. They have a really good driver. No, no, no. They got a rapper who's pretty good from there. Like, he's, he's like, don't fucking look at me like that. Yance, you should know this.
D
There's no rapper.
C
Benny the Butcher. He's fucking nasty. Watch your mouth.
D
He's more of a producer.
E
No, I think you can get. What about like a former, former saber. Like, could have like Rob, get a Buffalo Bandit.
C
Get John.
B
Brad May would be good.
C
What about Tavares? The, the old school Buffalo Bandit? They've won a bunch of championships.
B
All right, Matthew, let me ask you this. Buffalo's power play going back to the regular season is over. Their last 31. I'm sure you've been a part of teams that you just go through these slumps. Like, how hard is it to not kind of get snappy at each other on the bench and like, you know, every. If they get one tonight and they don't score on that one, it's like it just keeps growing and growing. Like, you ever remember a time where it's been a tough slump and you're trying to just figure it out as a group?
E
Yeah, for sure. There's always, there's always stuff throughout the year where, where that happens or if like, you know, sometimes you feel like if you take a penalty, it's going to go in your net. Like you always go through both. Go through those. But I mean, if I'm, if I'm in their situation, I'd stack the first unit. I'd play them for two minutes the whole time. Because when you're, when you have like these split units and you're both units are struggling, all it takes is one clear and you're like, oh, I got to get off. Like, that's another way. Stack one unit, put your best players on one, and let them ride the whole time. That's how you're going to get out of it. And that's how the top players, when you get out of it and you start scoring the power play, you get confidence in five on five, and then they can put up seven or eight on the Bruins. Like, that's just, that's what I would do, but that's why I'm not a coach.
D
But how, how important is it to have a good power play going in to. In playoffs? Because, like right now, watching Colorado, they don't scare me as much as other teams because they can't score on the power play.
E
Yeah, power play is huge. But the number one thing that's most important in playoffs is Penalty kill. If you have a good penalty kill, it goes back to defense, wins championships. But I look back at our team the last two years and nobody talks about our series against Tampa like, you know, the last two years because it was one of his first round and they were both in five. But that's biggest reason was because of our penalty kill. And obviously they've got one of the best power plays in the league for the last however many years. But our, our PK was dynamite and, and, and very, very, very solid throughout the rest of the playoffs, but especially in that round. So that's number one that gets, that needs to get hot if you want to have a chance. And then physicality. And one thing I was actually talking about too, with who I don't forget I was talking about it the other day. But one big thing that nobody talked about that I think fans would really enjoy to hear and they might think I'm up for this. But like when guys are injured or banged up, like, look at some of these guys around the league that are just coming back or might come back or missing a game. That's you like players target them not to hurt them, but you are so physical and like, you know what injury these guys have had and you know if they're playing 100%, you know if they're not. And I know, I know guys like when I played against Vegas, I learned this from Vegas because when I hurt my sternum against them the next two games or whatever I played that I was getting punched in the chest, hit on the shoulder, cross check every single face off in the middle of the shift, the end of the shift, scrum, everything. So I'm like, damn. These guys are like, they know I'm banged up and they keep coming. They want me like they want me left in a body bag. So I think you're starting to see some of these teams, like with some of these guys come back. I know some guys in Tampa are probably coming back soon. I know a couple guys in Ottawa are coming back soon. Like for fans out there, I wouldn't be surprised like if you're starting to see this because that's how players think. And that to me is a huge, huge part in having success in playoffs is knowing how healthy the other team is, staying healthy, your team and going after these guys.
D
I tell the story all the time. Tom Wilson, when we played them in playoffs, there was a scrum in front of the net and he skated out to the blue line to come grab me and just kept punch. I had A separated shoulder. He just kept punching me in the shoulder. He's like, is it this one? Is it this one? And then he grabbed my other shoulder. He's like, is it that one? And I'm like, yeah, yeah.
E
Like last year. Last year we were playing Tampa and Verhe hit Cernac first period. I think C got tangled up on a face off in the first period. And you know, we're in there after the period like trying to talk amongst each other's like which way did they fall? Like, you know, this, this and that. And we know that they're doing it to, to me because after every single whistle or every face off they're pushing my leg or grabbing my leg because of my adductor stuff. So it's, it's all game within the game ship. That's what makes playoffs like the best. And so it makes the cup the hardest to win in sports because is sometimes could be the longest, most gruesome two months ever.
D
Every guy's a doctor biz they got looking at X rays.
C
Yeah. Opera playing operation.
B
Oh I was just chat GPS pt when McDavid left the game yesterday. I'm like falling inside. What tendon is that?
C
Yeah, what's that? WebMD. But what's crazy is you saying that Matthew and the fact that there's cameras around now. Remember back in the day when there's no cab. Oh guys were just gutless. Just like just trying to step on each other. It's it.
E
Yeah.
B
It's not.
E
Not that crazy but it's definitely like as, as players or I'll have, I'll have. And then I'll have players text me. Last year if we're playing. I guess Brady, Brady would be the first one. And then who did Carolina play second? Maybe Washington. But we'd have players text us on the teams that these teams would just beat and be like, hey, so and so like his. He can't skate. His, his. His left me is so banged up or this guy can't take a hit on his right shoulder. So I think that's the biggest part I've learned with playoffs is like it goes so deep with research and pre scouts and a lot of it's injury
B
related but Florida didn't play nasty guys. They didn't do anything. They were just like wings. They were just snapping it around.
E
That's every team though. I mean we learned that from Vegas the year before. Like they were so ruthless and bigger and nastier and it was, it was. You learn lessons in playoffs throughout and that Was. That was me. I remember playing the Ducks my rookie year. Holy. I wasn't even injured. I felt like I had every part of my body injured. The way they were staying, they were coming after me and everything. I'm like, this is, this is the man's game. Okay. This is different.
C
You know that final scene of Braveheart when the guy like takes the. Takes all the tools out, like he's about to fucking cut his gut open and stuff like that. That's pretty much what it's like. We were just talking about all these injuries. I think a pretty cool component though is I met a bunch of the Panthers with Yuyans at that. It was a J bar. What's the bar you guys always go to by your house? The one that you could play that they let you play the music whenever you want.
E
Every bar ever?
C
No.
A
Oh, oh.
C
We went there with fls. Fl.
E
Oh, great spot.
C
And, and like your, your guys like art massage therapist guy was there and how important it is to have like a really good one who can help fix you up quick because you guys are all dealing with these nagging things. Like he was you.
D
He was doing like every team in the Olympics, I heard.
C
Yeah, I guess he's just a wizard. So like how important is to have a guy like that around? And I heard that the one that you guys have is like the best guy in the league.
E
Yeah, he's unreal. Our whole staff is unreal here. Like they really, really are. And I think you don't, you don't play this many games the last few years and go on that many deep runs and. And I mean this year was such a weird year with injuries. Not like any injuries like that related. It was all like broken bones and weird. But like for those guys that keep us healthy through a hundred plus games every year, like they deserve all the credit in the world. Like they're working way harder than we are just to keep us on the ice. So I think teams got a really, really. That's probably the way the league's going to go. I think the next step is like really, really taking that up a notch with having. Whether it's more people around or you know, more on the road. We travel with like blow up cold tubs that they just put in the pool area. It's like little stuff like that. Like we stay over a lot. Like we do all this stuff that's really changed from like my first couple years in the league to like, I don't know if it's sports science related or Just recovery. I think it's put under the recovery umbrella, but that has become the biggest part. This game is so fast and physical. Like, you can't just tiptoe your way through the year and expect to be playing at your best come June. So those guys, like Timmy and the whole staff, like, you got to give them a shout out because they're truly the glue to our organization and allowing us to do what we've done and hopefully continue to what we want to do.
D
Biz. I think he. I think Vinnie Viola found Timmy. He was getting, like, P.T. i guess his back was all messed up. He was getting PT in, like, Virginia or something like that. And it was Timmy's place. And he was like, this guy saved me. And then when he bought the team, he brought him with him. So just like, smart move. By, by, by bringing them.
C
Yeah. They were raving about him when I was. I met him at that bar and I was. I just. It just came to my mind when you talked about all these injuries and how important it is to have a huge, like a big staff that can basically treat you guys like the Ferraris that you are.
B
Well, and injuries makes me. I forgot. Dickinson couldn't play Game 2 for Edmonton. Two goals in the first game. He'd been coming back from injury, and then he was, like, kind of wounded in that game. He had two. Need that guy back. Kind of an enormous third line center for us.
E
But I stayed up for that game last night, too. Like, that team's never out of it there.
B
Never.
E
They're crazy that that series is probably the one I look at, like, all the playoffs as a whole right now. That one is a little bit different. And the Philly, Pittsburgh ones, just, like, a little bit different. All the rest of them are pretty much nuts.
B
Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's.
D
It's.
B
Edmonton Oilers playoff hockey. It's just straight up crack. It's bizarre. They're never out of it. When you think they're going to win, they lose. You think they're going to lose, they win. And it's just. It's what we've become accustomed to. But, Matthew, we appreciate it, buddy. And once again, congrats, man. New dad. You sleeping at all?
E
Very, very. Actually, who am I kidding? I'm sleeping great still. But it's been fun. Best thing ever. Yeah. Got to. Got to try to win it next year so that she could sit in the Stanley cup like all these kids get to do after they win. So that's. That'll Be the goal. We actually just did our like first. I mean we're talking like a week old year right now. But we just did like our baby pictures or you know, I don't even know what they're called. Everybody does it. I guess I never heard of it but yes, everybody does it. And she has this got a gift from one of somebody in our family. Like the pole USA Olympic gear but for kids.
C
Hilarious.
E
So she brought it today to wear. And I sneakily brought the gold medal too. So we got a little one on one.
D
Nice.
E
That's. That's what it's all about. She was. Millie was in Milan, but just in the belly.
D
In the womb.
E
Yeah.
D
Make sure you get some rest tonight because we got a big match tomorrow.
E
Hey, bring it. You better bring what's happening.
D
What do you mean Bros versus Joe's?
E
Yeah.
A
Little.
E
We're doing the pros slash podcasters versus a couple of our buddies down here in Florida. So it'll, it'll be fun. We're playing it audio for golf. Yeah. Yeah yeah. Of course we're playing audios tomorrow. Tomorrow morning. So we'll get a break.
B
That one. Yeah.
C
I think I, I what did I
D
got a sandbagger with these guys too Biz. At some point when at some point we got to get it. That's what I'm saying.
C
Yeah.
E
We got. We gotta get it.
C
Would it be your dad being the third?
E
Yeah, for sure.
C
Okay. I mean I'm worried about these guys drinking. Trying to keep up to your old man. Oh, the last question I was gon ask. Will you go to Ottawa for any games?
E
I told them that I would go up if they, if they make it past the series. But I'm still. I might be might be doing. I got to figure out the rest of my month of May. Mike will represent the boys in red, white and blue at the end of the month. Might still still not officially like still undecided with everything but my body feels amazing. I only played 30 games this year and I just want to win something.
B
So Barky's going over there. You know he didn't get. He didn't get to play one so it makes sense.
C
But that that tournament hasn't even started yet.
E
No, no. It's like late May or something but
D
join that triple Gold crown or crowd. What?
E
That's one of the goals right there. I got the two.
D
That'd be amazing.
E
It'd be cool to get that one but I just got to see how everything is with with the body and new dad and all the you guys, you guys know.
C
Do you live in Vail for part of your summer?
E
I. I bought a place out in Colorado near there in Avon. So I'm spending like close to a month there later in the summer, like closer towards the season.
C
That's your go, get away, like restore and, and become one with the earth again type place.
E
Yeah, I bought it three years ago. I've been to it zero times, so.
C
Oh, nice. Kind of like my place in Jackson.
D
Yeah.
E
But I'm. I'm actually going there this year with being healthy and everything, so I don't know if I'm gonna skate that much out there because I don't like skating at all. Like, not at all. I like skating very little in the summer and just ramping it up like right when I come to Florida, like a few weeks or a month before max before the season starts. So. Yeah, it'll be good. Good to get. Good to spend some time there. Good to be a new dad to spend time at home. But it sucks not being playoff, especially with these games. Like I said, they're so fun. So. So we'll have to do this again maybe next round or round after for sure.
D
Yeah.
B
We appreciate it, bud. Awesome boys.
E
See you boys.
D
Thanks, Matthew.
B
See ya.
C
See you. Boy.
B
We did forget to bring up that just kind of the Doc play biz quickly in that Tampa, Montreal.
C
First of all, we got to talk about that game like un. Unreal man. Hagel, Hagel is, is one of the best contract values in the NHL.
D
What's he make?
C
Seven million? Maybe just under.
B
I don't even think it's that.
C
I think he makes like 6 and change maybe 5, 8.
A
Then he's 6.5 AAV.
D
Oh my God.
A
2032 boys.
D
Oh no.
B
But the biggest thing for me, Tampa had lost four straight playoff home playoff games. They'd lost 10 of 11. Kucherov hadn't scored forever. He ties it up. They end up getting the winner in overtime. Awesome play by J.J. moser. It was just so crazy that Doc, just a couple more steps, he's got the red line. He throws it in early icing. And then not only does like he ice the puck, but Moser walks around him and St. Louis just looked furious. He brought it, he brought up the play after. You got to think Brendan Gallagher and kind of what he's been able to do in the playoffs, I don't know. That game isn't until tomorrow, so I'm guessing the. There's no lineup decisions made, but I don't I don't know if he stays in the lineup after. It wasn't just one play, it was two plays. That kind of lose the game for Montreal and just a tough loss for them. They had that game of control.
D
I was sitting here watching it with a buddy, and after he, I said, I'm like, they're going to score. They pan to St. Louis on the bench, and he was like this, chewing his gum.
B
Yeah.
D
Just like looking up on my. Oh, shit. He knows they're going to score. And then to go out and give the sweep check. Like, you, if you do ice that, you got to do whatever. It's not like it's Kale McCarr, it's JJ Moser out there. Like, you got to go out, get in the body lane.
B
Like, it's a better angle almost. He just.
C
Yeah, well, hey. And then so I saw another angle of Cooch and Cooch. Cooch interfered with him a little bit. Oh, yeah. He cooches 10 miles ahead. Being like, oh, yeah. And he put the body and then kind of took his stick away. And then it's like a panic situation for Doc to get out. But he's, he wasn't in a, in a bad spot. He put himself in a bad spot. You don't need to, like, attack out like that. And I felt, I felt terrible, terrible for him. But that's the thing, man. The, the lack of oxygen going to your brain, the panic, the crowds on top you. And now all of a sudden you're, that you're, they're turning the lines over and you're playing against the top line when you're. Kirby, Doc. I mean, I, I, I would have shut down my social media too.
B
Yeah, he deleted the Instagram. That sucks.
D
Yeah, it's brutal.
B
And once, you know, and St. Louis mentioned him as well, so then it's even more kind of like, oh, Coach is talking about him. I can tell him to fucking jump off a bridge. Like, sounds insane, but that's ridiculous. What people do, the messages they'll send. So that's.
D
But listen, like, these guys want to win more than the fans want to win. Trust me. And he feels worse than anybody on planet Earth. Maybe as an organization or as a human being, give the guy some praise, maybe pump his tires a little bit so he, if he does get back in the lineup, he plays. But, like, when people go after people, I just.
C
You DM guys, that's. You're a idiot. You got problems. You got problems.
B
Serious problems.
C
You got problems.
B
I, I'm interested to see Friday night
C
like, like Caulfield and they were DMing his girlfriend or fiance or wife. I don't even. She had to take her social media down. Come on.
D
Right?
C
Hey, if you're listening to this and you're DMing players because your favorite team got scored on and it's that guy's fault, you're a clown.
B
You touch some grass there Biz.
C
Yeah, you could, hey, you could about it and talk a bunch of your with your sports buddies and talk about the game like, like, but to go after them like, directly, like, like the sad message, it's brutal.
B
So see if Caulfield can get a little bit more. I think Hudson's been phenomenal. Goldish has been good. That series is great so far. Like that. I, I'm actually happy there's two days in between the game. Friday night Bell center will be unreal. Be rocking. And I did get a kip Coop after the game. He's like, somebody's got to be the villain. I guess we're okay with it. Like, I don't know. Do you think, do you think he means that? Like, he thinks more people are rooting for Montreal?
C
I think people are sick of when teams have long reigns and Tampa is one of those teams. I don't think it helps the case that, that Hagel's going too small to the bench. Too small. Too small. And then doing the Aaron Ashm sleeper in the penalty box. I mean, fucking rights man entertainment Haggles bringing it, buddy.
D
This is.
C
Yes, I think that, I think that more people would rather see Montreal win than Tampa. I, I, personally, I, I don't care, I don't care who advances from that series. But Hagel is definitely making me want to root for Tampa because I want to see more Hagel if that's what he's bringing. But then again, you have a serial killer and Josh Anderson on the other side, too.
B
Well, according to Wild fans, you and the rest of the guys at tnt, you just want Dallas to win. This tweet made me laugh out loud. I think Jamie Ben could pull out a gun at center ice and the TNT panel would start talking about stand your ground laws. Defend him.
D
We're in Dallas.
C
Yeah, I, I just, I, I, I just, I've really, really, like, I, I've done a 180 on wild fans and the fact that they wanted to delay a game penalty when the guy was over center and I, and he, then he, and he put it over the glass.
B
I know.
C
Like, I just, I'm, I'm, I'm in shock.
B
All right, we've been going a while. Let's get to ra. They're children, you know.
C
You know where we need to send them? The leering center.
A
Hello everybody and welcome to ra's World here on the Spitting Chiclets podcast. Boys, we got a big one across the dam tonight. Game three, the Bruins. I am all fired up. Best home record. No one had more home wins than in this year. 2911 and one place is going to be rocking. Cannot friggin wait. Huge win the other night. Team responded like I hoped and thought they would. Tied one one coming home. Love it. What's up?
C
Are you going to be there as of now?
A
No, not as of right now. I didn't even bother with the, with the request after, you know, the last email and you know, I talked about on the pod and if someone were to hit me up and say, hey, all right, I got a ticket. Absolutely. But right now I'm probably gonna lock in by myself here on my pad because I find I pay the most attention and lock. And even watching my, you know, family, you know, people are chatting, you get distracted. But as of now, I'll be here. If something changes, I'll. I'll be across the street. But I'm fired up, man.
C
Let's go.
A
Rear go is right, buddy. I think prediction, like, I mean, dude, I, I think the Bees are gonna win. Swaming locked in like, you know, like I said, no one had. Nobody had more home wins than them this year. Carolina had the same amount. I can't, I can't see losing in the whole league.
B
Really.
A
Yeah, yeah. They had won 29 games at home. Carolina had the same amount. Nobody had more than them. So yeah, I'm jacked up. The, the team we saw game two was more like the team we saw all season. Hell of a bounce back. Ives in two goals. Zaka, one goal middle stat at two assist that line bounce back. Swayman. What can we say about a.931 save percentage? And I don't know if we listen to the part. I read the blog. But that time out call you guys mentioned earlier, I guess Stern was, was going to do the same on the bench, but, but a good awareness for him to recognize. You know, Buffalo was starting to get that momentum there. I mean if they ever had a disastrous collapse again, man, this town would have been burned down.
B
That's so funny. Did Sturm say after, like yeah, I was going to do it. I, I had that. Don't worry, I had that one. I had it covered.
D
I was Going to change the laundry, babe.
B
Hey Ra. We haven't talked Colorado la, which is just. I mean like. And we haven't talked Utah. Vegas. One thing I want to bring up for Utah. Vegas.
A
Yeah.
B
Two unreal moves by Ryan Smith. First being. Did you notice he tweeted out and said for anyone that was a Vegas Golden Knights fan before we came and has a jersey come on, in exchange it, we'll give you a free Mammoth jersey. Unreal move. Maybe some people in Utah just hopped on Vegas being somewhat close by. And then the other one was, I think he's looking to give eight sweet tickets out. I think the Delta center is going to be insane tonight. And. And Utah gets an enormous game to win. What do you got on that series so far, Vishmilkov?
A
Unreal game the other night. 19 saves, 21 shots. Dude, this team, I think people are sleeping on on them like other teams just because, you know, second year in Utah they were the. The former Coyotes, former Jets didn't have a lot of success. But I mean it was a cooley Gunther and what's his day? Ah, got him, Keller. Those guys are just whirling dervishes out there. Sergach has been playing unreal like both sides of the ice. I. I would be surprised. Like I did pick what's his name, Vegas and seven based on the way Carter Hoff's been playing. But I don't know, Utah's been impressive thus far. You know, they. They've stolen home ice advantage. So a great series again, I think people might be sleeping on. Those are kind of a little, well, statistical anomaly, you know. Hot. Had 27 saves on. On 29 shots the other night. But he gave up three goals because, you know, there's not a, it's not a shot, you know, what's his name? Anderson. Kicked it in the puck by ax. Kicked it in the net by accident. So it was an own goal because I was, you know, double checking stats. I was like, wait a minute, how do you have, you know, 27 saves on 29 shots? But you know, it's not, it's not a shot against when, when your own guy kicks it in the net. So just a little nerd stat that jumped out at me. But yeah, boys, I. I'm jacked up. What do you got for me, Biz?
C
I was just gonna say Dylan Gunther, his release.
D
Holy.
C
That goal that Yamamoto slid over to him. That is easy money sniper right there.
B
Biz, was it you saying that when you did the gross grind with Bedard, he was talking About Gunther.
C
He was pumping his tires. Yan's brought our. I think it was army or Merle's. Reminded me that Yan's, when we had Donor on donor was raving about this kid saying like wait till you see his shot. And he. I don't know man. Like I would say he's top five as far as his release and how effortless it is and how the velocity he gets on it. So that's one thing that stuck out. I thought that him and, and Logan Cooley, Cooley specifically has easily been their best player. Like he is. He's a dog and he got a death threat towards him and then got the winner the next game. Like he's fucking what, 20 years old. How old is he? 20, 21 years old. I thought that Kels and Schmaltzy looked better in Game 2 than they did in Game 1, but still need more from them. You know, as they get acclimated to like what it's like being in playoffs and they're getting a lot of attention from guys who have already done it and, and, and, and dogs in the NHL. Especially when it comes to playoff hockey. I think that they skate well. I think that they, they move. It's, it's a very, it's a unique series.
B
Yeah.
C
Right. Like you could tell Vegas is not as fast, but they're more physical and they're trying to wear them down and, and, and they have the guys that can do that and play right. Like Stone, he's big, strong.
B
Barbashev's goal was.
C
Barbashev is, is being Barbashev from when they won at the last time and when he was with St. Louis. So it's. I would say like I, it would be cool to see Utah win this series if gun to my head, I still have a hard time believing that Vegas isn't going to find a way to win this series. That's, that's, that's how I feel about it. But one of those ones where maybe from an entertainment perspective I didn't have as much expectations same but, but as, but as over delivered and it was
B
immediately too because I'm with you. I didn't know what to expect and like, like it was good from the hop and now it's turned into like a little nastiness and yeah Vka, he is very good. I, you kind of mentioned him last year I believe and he had an
C
off year last year. I think it was a year before he was very good and then last year he regressed a little bit. But very athletic. He was good in Arizona. Good contract, well liked. And yeah they.
B
He.
C
He's. He's fucking nasty. He's. He's a nasty goalie. I would prefer to watch this series in Colorado.
D
La. Oh yeah, a hundred percent that series.
B
I mean LA has not scored five on five. I think the numbers five on five are like may maybe as tilted as like you've ever seen in a playoff series. Give. Give LA credit right? I mean they go up one nothing. Game two. It's like holy. They might. They might pull this out. Nicholas Wa. Roy, however you want to say it. Big overtime goal. It just seems like LA is so overmatched. Like Ari. I don't know if you have any thoughts on that series, but it's not 5 and 5. It's not even close.
A
No tough luck for Antoine Forsberg 02 but he's got a 190 goals against that 941 save percentage. And here's an interesting note, you know, going back to Edmonton briefly. They could have signed him in the off season. Danville die or Carter had three goalies that are playing exceptionally well in the playoffs right now. Just in. You know, they didn't take a flyer on any of those guys. I mean the lowest save percentage of any of those three is kind of hot right now.
C
Wedgewood sweat. Yeah buddy. They could have fucking went out and got 10 goalies in the. In. In in the last like 18 months. It's fucking insane, bro. It's fucking insane.
B
I go back to. I go back to the draft when they traded the pick that Minnesota took Wall stat with. That's probably the one that really really hurts the most considering how young he is and that right now as he's ready to go. The Oilers are in their most win now moment they've. They've ever been in. So yeah, I think people were like he won't be ready. He's ready. But I don't know how this just turned into Edmonton goaltending segment. I was looking for ra's thoughts on
C
the Utah because people say it's the most important position to win a Stanley cup. And and. And every other team has seemed to be able to figure out and solve that problem other than at management Edmonton.
A
Why believe in Ingram while we're on the Kings. Congratulations. Trevor Lewis officially announced his retirement after a 17 year NHL career. Two Stanley Cups. So shout out to him Biz. I want to talk tnt. What a. What a brilliant knife of play by play guys. Last night we went from you know Kenny Albert to John forsun to Randy Han, you know, who's normally the shocks announcer. He committed.
C
Unreal.
B
Hold on. Yeah, Randy Han, great announcer. Unreal. And I think it's. Is it Drew Ramenda, his guy. They were together very, very excited when Anaheim scored goals, boys.
C
Oh, who gives a.
D
Who gives.
B
Go watch the clips. Edmonton Anaheim would score. It's like Anaheim, San Jose's gonna rival. It was to me it was very. It's the us watching the candidate. They were. They were seeming to be rooting for the Anaheim Ducks.
C
Buddy. If it was Jack McMichaels calling it, he'd be. Be creaming his jeans.
B
He. He's the Oilers announcer. These guys are the Sharks announcers. What are you talking about? That was the worst analogy I've ever heard.
A
And I, I believe Randy some Edmonton, if I'm not mistaken too. So I. And yeah, but.
C
But they probably are. Are down with SoCal winning some hockey games.
A
A producer's telling him like when. When like American team scores, like, call it louder. Is that something like.
B
I don't know, but. All right. Did you notice that or no? Do you think I did? Didn't.
C
I didn't until I didn't notice it either.
B
I noticed it and then I started seeing tweets about. I'm like, all right, I'm not crazy. It was like, oh, Oilers.
C
That's the worst analogy I've ever heard.
B
Well, you just compared the Oilers announcer rooting for the Oilers rooting for the Ducks. What are you talking.
C
Maybe they're. Maybe they're sick and tired of seeing the Oilers and all the. Everything they got going on in playoffs and all their drama. They want to see new blood.
A
He doesn't.
C
That's what's going on.
A
He does have.
D
No one's sick of seeing McDavid also too.
A
You know, though, obviously the. The color guys do a great job. I got a nice DM from Kenny Albert, so I, you know, I tweeted about the play by play guys, so that. Thanks, Kenny.
D
Okay. Trip, Tracy
A
and Joe. Actually, there's a great read about Jody Shelley. You know, one of the color guys on the hockeyredders.com saw that really good stuff. His first game was great. He had a minute and 33. Yeah, yeah. 133. Time of ice, two fights, 10 penalty minutes, which sort of set the tone for his career and biz. I don't know if you talked to any of the, like the production people at tnt, but give him a shout out for the terrific camera work.
C
Yeah, you know, they're the they're the best. Like the. The play by play like you said. Like everyone they have is just like first class.
A
Like catching the Vlada losing his blade but also before the game. This is probably Cameron nerd stuff. But the drone shot of the Billy Penn statue at the top of Philadelphia City hall. Just, just absolutely beautiful. Stop. Bad. So kudos to those guys. So.
B
All right.
A
Yeah, let fire away.
C
Any other complaints?
B
Whit coach Lindy Ruff said Josh Norris is not available for tonight.
E
Oh fuck.
B
That is a big loss. You've seen the record with him playing and him not to my stomach, that is a kick in the dick. And I feel. Buffalo Sabres fans, I feel second. First is Josh Norris. Man, this guy's been so good and he's finally been able to be healthy for a while this year. I don't know. That's not good. He's considered day to day, but still not having him. Game three is a big loss.
A
Yeah, I think Zadora must hate carnivals because he keeps on going after Zach Benson. I mean he's got about a foot and a half on him. He keeps pummeling him every time he sees him on the ice out there. Not sure if he's a kind of guy, but here, here's a crazy staff for you. Philly defenseman Noah Julson, he's got two points which is the same as McDavid, McKinnon, Makai and Crosby combined in the playoffs so far. That's an absolutely wild stat, boys.
C
They just. Yeah. Norris out. They just announced his replacement, Josh Allen.
A
Blade gang.
B
Blade Gang.
D
Give him a chance.
A
I know Biz, you saw it. Did you guys see the clip of Sid in the box after he got off the embellishment? And there's that one.
C
Yeah, that was hilarious.
A
It gave him like the. And you can see kind of sit. Sort of smirked back at him. I don't know if we. I don't think we could show it here anyways, but that was pretty.
C
Pretty sure about that. How about that one? That was good.
A
Connor Murphy and Arista Landon, first playoff goals in each their 13th seasons. Man. Pretty. Pretty wild stuff. That's a long friggin wait to get your first playoff goal. Hagel got the first Gordie Howe hat trick in Tampa Bay playoff history. Thought that was pretty good stuff.
C
Stuff. Wow.
A
Yeah, interesting stuff. Oh, did you see this video just come out? I seen it this morning. Someone throw. Well, they called it a rotisserie chicken. That's what got thrown on the ice lately at the Edmonton Ducks game last night. I Figured it probably a duck. I mean, why would you, you know, if you're gonna throw?
C
Well, because they go to Costco. It's right there. And it's like. I think you just kind of get the point, right? Yeah, kind of. Like I said my earlier analogy, Randy
B
Han was calling petit.
A
I thought it was duck, duck orange or whatever the hell that stuff's called. But. And this other. No biz the ratings through the roof. I don't know if you follow us.
C
Yeah.
A
Braylon Breeze. Braylon underscore Breeze. He does a terrific job, everyone. The NHL, you know, might be a little turning a bit of a quarter here with the ratings. I mean, there's too many records that they've set to list right now. But I think, like, can we kind of, like, sort of stop with the dick measuring contest? With NBA ratings, like, it just. It's not a contest to catch up to them. I mean, I don't, you know, the numbers are never going to catch up. I know NBA view ratings are down, but there's still, you know, there's always probably going to be more people actually watching the NBA that will be watching the NHL. I don't know. I just feel like people get caught up.
C
Like, you know, I think, I think the reason for the compare. I think the reason for the comparison is, like, you have these, like, players who seem to kind of not give a fuck. They want to rest, they don't want to. I think that, like, the, The. The overall emotional investment that they're providing that their sport is, is. Is a correlation to the drop in viewership and how much hockey players care and they put into their craft and the respect that people who want to watch live entertainment are now giving it. Like, hockey is a very niche sport, and to see that it's, it's gaining so much ground on something like the NBA. I think that that's, that's why they're kind of just comparing the two.
A
Like.
D
Oh, no, they, they compare it because you play the same amount of games in the same season.
C
Okay. No, well, yeah. Okay. I, I don't. I don't know if, like, you think that's why.
D
Yeah, like, they don't do it with baseball because it's in the different seasons and they play way more games.
B
Well, I say it's the same amount of game, way more physical, and they're still able to, like, up their level in the playoffs.
C
Yeah.
B
But I get.
C
I think it's the easiest to compare in a sense of gameplay. It's just like a continuous thing and
A
you know, okay, yeah, two, two vastly different sports, but a couple other notes here. Dude, the Port of Montone, he's playing like he's been with the Flyers for 10 years. He's just doing things you don't usually see a rookie, you know, this early in his career. I forget which, which penguin he had, you know, kind of mushing his like, face in the ice, like avoiding the penalty, you know, like a little skirmish toward the end. You just, you know, this kid is playing way beyond like his experience level right now. Obviously. I think he's got two game winning goals. He's been a treat to watch so far. Also, we gotta give a shout out. Freddie Anderson. 2. 0 so far. 0.78 goals against. 9. 67 say percentage with a shutout. He's been playing great. I know he's, you know, knock on wood. He's had injuries over his career, but for a, a veteran who's been along around for a long time, it's been great to see what he's doing.
B
But boy, you give out gambling picks. I, I, I think Ottawa game three is a nice bet. I like it a lot.
A
I haven't seen the, the, what do you call it, the odds on it yet, but I agree. Yeah. Yeah. Omar's been playing terrific. He's another guy who's getting some tough luck. 0 and 2, but his numbers are fantastic. Yeah, like I said, I'm kind of on the wagon right now, but yeah, I agree with you there. That would be a good play. I'm not even sure what the Bruins line is tonight, but I love what Chucky Mac and Hampus Lindholm the other night. They Both played over 27 minutes. The next two DWO under 16 minutes. I mean, Sturm rode them, but whatever, you got to lead, you got to sit on it. I'm glad they did that pasta. Five points in two games. I don't, man, I'm feeling like a lot more confident than it was a couple days ago with this team. I'd be surprised if they lose tonight. But I'm fired up, jacked up.
B
Cannot straight pick them tonight. Ra. Is it straight pick them? Yeah. Well, minus 110 each.
A
That's that. That's going to 10. Tempt me to fall off the wagon. But what else? Oh, a great play. I know you guys mentioned Dutchy with that back check on bold deal because a lot of people like, oh, baldy, he's gonna see that in his sleep. That's gonna, it's like, bro, he didn't have Like a clean like swipe at it. I mean, you know, Duchenne come down and made an incredible play to break things up. And then the penalties, man, like Jamie Ben, that's a, that's a bad penalty to take there. Then people Quinn Hughes were not ranting and he's like, oh, he went down. I think once you get hands on up like high in a guy's face like that. Plus it was just not a smart penalty. Whether Anton went down easy or not, it was probably going to be a nice in there too. And you know, once you get your hands up like that, even in overtime.
B
I was with wild fans on that one.
C
Like, but then they got, they got one back where Quinn Hughes got the tripping call.
B
Yeah, like that was why I think that, that it made a little bit more sense. They'd already kind of given the wild one, but yeah, I thought it was a little bit of a dive by Ronton, but they didn't score on that one. Anyways, it was the year of delay a game, so.
A
And is that not the worst way to, to lose a game? Is like the puck number one, the worst? Because I mean other penalties, it's a physical action where you sometimes you're doing it deliberately or maybe accidental. But that's just such like almost an innocuous penalty. But I don't know. That's a, that's a kick on the
C
balls to lose the. The minute it leaves your stick. Oh no, no, no shot and all over your.
A
You get.
C
Do you guys agree though? NHL, like you got no one on you. You got to make a play. Like that's.
D
Yeah.
B
100.
C
Yeah.
A
Let me ask you, the geeky goal the other night, you know, center Rice, like pop fly that upl missed. How, how much does that deflate a team on the bench? Especially when you're. Now you're down two. Nothing. Like how much does that just kill a team, like mentally? Does it?
D
Yeah, it, it definitely is a buzz kill, you know, especially if you're starting to get momentum and then something like that happens. But yeah, it's brutal. But it's a, it's a heads up play by Geeky. I used to do it. I mean everyone does it where you just, you know, if you can't, if you can't get to the red, red line sometimes you'll shoot it at the net, try to have it bounce. Remember Lidstrom did it against Vancouver? Yeah. So it's like that's, it's copycat like we said. It's like. But it's one of those things where it could hit him. There could be a rebound that comes out. But I thought it was a great play by Geeky to have the awareness to do it. But. But it definitely, definitely is a buzzkill on the bench.
B
It looked like he was in no man's land. Like, he didn't come out far enough or, like, stay back, I guess, a little, little bit deeper. He was, like, just right in the middle. I mean, that was. Yeah, that's deflating. All right. Like, and the crowd, too. The crowd was just like, oh, my God. Like, we. We kind of have some momentum going here. We just need one to tie it up. And all of a sudden, you let in that it. It makes sense. I think that that goal is why Lions start and could.
D
Chuck mentioned the. You know, how much you can feed off of the energy of the crowd and stuff like that. And when something like that deflates a crowd, then you feel it even more
C
on the bench, like when Alan bangs the drum.
A
Not to speak of what, like, what it does to a goalie's confidence as well. But I, I. Gee, I know. I know y' all head in the game tonight. I know where you're going to be pregamer, but you must be all jacked and pumped, as Pete Carroll would say, huh? I'm fired up. I'm. I'm so fired up. But I'm. I'm actually so distracted right now. I did just see a video.
B
Did you guys see that?
A
An Edmonton oil fan got bitten off in a fight after the game. His ear was bitten off. What is going on right now?
C
There's some weird.
B
Yeah, they were fighting after the game. It's. It's a tense time, buddy. There's a lot of pressure on the Oilers, and the fans feel it.
C
Well, that's not what you said in your tweet towards me that.
D
What'd you say?
B
Well, I understand I'm somebody who's able to not be a crazy fan and know, hey, it's 1 1. It's never easy with the Oilers. There's fans who are like you, and they panic and they think it's pathetic, and they want to address them losing a home game. Game 2. The Oilers have never gone up to nothing in a series with Connor McDavid on the team. So it's like, this is what they do. I'm not panicking. Some fans are. They're fighting each other at the rink. They're biting.
C
You're blaming the fucking commentators for celebrating too hard.
B
Yeah. Fuck, yeah. I was.
D
Wait it was Edmonton on Edmonton crime.
C
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
B
I'll tell you one thing else I should. Should bring up is Spec better unblock me if they lose game three.
C
Wow.
B
And Spec doesn't unblock me that like, he. He's got to take some ownership at this point. They need G on the rope the same direction.
A
There have been a ton of fights in Edmonton too. Not just last night. Like, I mean, you think Canada, you know, these, like, beer drinking, like, friendly people. But is it just, like, specific to al Alberta biz?
D
Like, long winter. Long winter.
A
Just get so up, though, too. Think about it. Every time we go there, like, they start drinking so early. Mangle playoffs in Edson. Nah, people don't get up in Edmonton.
B
They're mangled.
A
That's an absolute rumor.
B
Yeah.
A
All right.
B
It's all good.
A
I think I. I would say, I mean, the biggest shock thus far, the first round, no brainer. I mean, the fly is up three nothing. I mean, that's the only series that's basically a runaway right now. Definitely a shock there, so.
D
Oh, no. Oh, no.
C
Wit.
D
No, no.
B
Why are you doing this?
D
Hey, this is bullshit, man.
C
I'm fucking helping you is what I'm doing. It was given to me by the team. They won't lose another game.
B
Well, when teams give you things.
A
I know. Do you have, like, a hat, a shirt, like, something for every team in the league? Because y' all like Carrot Top every time.
D
He's got the king of Ontario hat on with the Oilers jersey.
C
Should. Should we talk about the Wuhan Lob post? We kind of glanced over that with. With.
B
With Matthew Kai Liven. Yeah. All right. You know the guy in the. In the band that just completely mushes the Senators every year?
A
Oh, yeah, yeah.
B
They sent him to Wuhan the team, all expenses paid.
A
I. I like, I wonder is. Is that. I don't know. I. I can't imagine that they sent, like, set them there. There has to be a story behind this. I can't imagine. They just like, oh, we're gonna send you to Taiwan. First of all, you think you'd want to be like, you know, in Ottawa going to the game.
B
But he loves the sense that much he knows I've. I've up. I think he even said in the video, like, after last year, I shouldn't have come back. And he came back and he doubled down. It's almost like, you know, it's. I'm taking. I'm taking part of the blame for this. Right. Like, I understand what I did wrong. And I'm gonna go over to the Far East.
C
Are we able to play the. Could we play the video that he made? Like the second one out front of the barn?
G
Like, hello, Sens fans. Kyle, Ivan here. As you can see, I am in Asia. This is not AI. I am actually here. I have been sent here by the Ottawa Senators organization because they wanted me as far away from the Canadian Tire center as possible before game three tonight. As most of you know by now, I've become a bit of an Internet sleep celebrity over the past week, and not in a good way. A video that was intended to share my joy and passion for our team has instead backfired and unleashed a firestorm of negativity, turning me into the biggest Sens villain since Chris Kunitz. Many of you have blamed me for the goal posts, the crease clears, and the overall bad luck we have faced in the first two games.
E
What the.
G
Upon further reflection, I think you're right. I realize now what I've done is wrong. It was wrong of me to put out another music video. It was wrong to film in front of the CTC without the team's blessing. And it was wrong of me to unleash this string of bad luck on our favorite team. Because of this, I will be watching the rest of the series from Taiwan, a punishment that is harsh but fair. I'm hoping this will help change the outcome of the rest of the series for the Suns. So from the other side of the world,
B
I really thought at the end a motorcycle was just gonna run him over.
C
I thought they were gonna behead him.
D
We're never hearing from him again because he wore the jersey. Why is he bringing the jersey?
C
Hot take. I think that he was going there anyway. And they, they're spinning this. That's why they're gonna get swept.
B
I think the Sens want it that bad that they, he, he, he, he like got fired too. Like, he left his job and they sent him and it was, it wasn't a first class ticket. It was the last row, middle seat on a, on a 20 hour flight to China.
A
G just brought a good point too. If like, he's like, oh, it's not AI, but it's like, well, what if it's a green screen? Because a green screen is not AI.
B
If it turns out it's a green screen, they're getting swept and they're not making the playoffs next year.
D
Same motorcycle coming by on like on a loop.
B
Yeah, we need to do some digging here because that may make Senators fans even more Furious if they should have
C
to play all their home games in Belleville next year, if that's a fucking green screen.
D
And they basically do, hey, he's just in Chinatown. In Ottawa.
C
This is Wit's least favorite thing that I'm talking about these playoffs is the fact that. That the Leafs still get to remain the Kings of Ontario if Ottawa loses the series. If they get swept witt, well, you fucking crown the Leafs, the Kings of Ontario.
B
No.
C
You know, you're a fucking coward.
B
I'm going to go towards Taiwan Senators. I'm going to go towards the team from Ontario most recently in the Stanley cup finals.
C
Like, you're a coward, bro. You're a coward.
A
You want to crown their ass crown coward. That would be hilarious.
C
You won't do spaces after bad home losses where McDavid hasn't had a point in two games.
B
Spaces is when it's time to. To worry. There's no worry. There's no panic. I'm fine. We're fine. Your team stinks. You can't find a gm. You beat the Senators in the playoffs. That's awesome. You don't do anything else. You can wear your crown. You can wear your. Your elephant tusk over your fucking nose as you're rooting on the mammoth, but you will not get inside my head.
C
All right?
G
Ok.
F
I.
A
Boys, I think tonight.
C
Did you wake up to the tusk? The tusk video. Did you wake up to it?
B
Yes.
A
Is that like a sexy undergarment biz or like a real, like, elephant thing? I couldn't tell. It looked like something, you know, you'd have a. One of your bedrooms.
B
It's a real elephant tusk.
C
As Jordan Martinook texted me, he's like, did you have a thong schlong on
E
your face last night?
D
Oh,
E
thong schlong.
D
That's a good one.
B
All right, boys.
A
All right, boys. Yeah, Bruins just.
B
We're in the middle of it already.
A
Yeah, I love it. Just. Just Bruins just do what they did the other night. They should be in good shape. And, yeah, I'm gonna relax for the afternoon. Probably finish that Hulk Hogan docu series that got hit Netflix a couple days ago. I don't know if you checked that out. Looks pretty good. They were actually filming it when he. When he passed away, but looks like it's not just gonna be one of those sugarcoat documentaries or documentary series. So give that a whirl. Give it a whirl right here on Netflix. But, boys, can't wait. Big game three tonight. Loving the playoffs. Hope you. I know you guys are, too. So here we go, bro.
B
We'll be back Monday, 11am Eastern. Thank you so much, everyone.
D
Love you all. Love you, boys.
F
Breaking, but it's taking time. I don't know it. Don't let it.
B
It's going to happen. It's going to happen again.
