Well, my friends, welcome back to Spot on with Link. Lauren. I hope you're having an amazing Monday. If you're listening to us on Sirius xm, I hope you're having a great Tuesday morning. We have so much to discuss. Okay, the USA swept the Olympics. We're going to talk about the USA men's hockey team. The women, they also did incredibly well. So the Winter Olympics, we took home gold in so many different ways. We have to talk about more of the fallout from Prince Andrew's arrest. I'm going to give you my thoughts on the future of the monarchy. William, Catherine, Andrew, George, Charlotte, Louis. And of course, those two little hucksters over in Montecito, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who continue to dine out on their names and their titles. Mamdani. Okay, Call me Mom. Donnie In New York City, he also has a new policy that is going to make your head spin. And then to round out the show, we have first lady Melania Trump's exclusive senior advisor, Mark Beckman on he worked on her film with her. He's their producer. He's her agent. They do so much together. So he's the perfect guest to get into all things first lady. But we have to start off by discussing the USA men's hockey team. This is something yesterday that brought the country together. Okay, I don't even know anything about sports, but watching these guys out there with the puck and winning and taking home the gold. And when they brought the babies out onto the ice, it made me proud to be an American. Okay? I was playing that Toby Keith song, my daddy served in the Army. Like, I felt so proud to be an American when they won. I've barely watched any hockey games in my life. Of course, being from Dallas, I root for the Dallas Stars, but I'm not a big sports person. But one thing I love about sports, they can bring people together like me who otherwise aren't paying that much attention. Right? Sports are always the great equalizer, the great unifier. You could have people Republican, Democrat, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, man, woman, some folks who can't even make up their minds. But we can come together and be proud to be Americans. And so I want to give a shout out to some folks. Of course, we have to give a shout out to Jack Hughes, who's become just such a huge star and even bigger star overnight. And I want to play you this clip of where he shows how patriotic he is and how much he loves our country.
Jack Hughes
This is all about our country right now. I love the usa. I love my teammates. It's unbelievable. The USA Hockey brotherhood is so strong and we had so much support from ex players. And I'm so proud to be American today.
Link Lauren
This is what I want to hear. I'm proud to be an American, okay? I'm proud to be an American. We didn't hear that. We didn't hear that from all the Winter Olympic athletes, okay? We didn't really hear that from Hunter Hess. We didn't hear that from pansexual queer. Woke Amber Glenn, who we'll get to in a minute. But when I heard it from Jack Hughes, that clip went viral for a reason. Because, Amber, everybody should be proud to be an American right now. Okay? I'm done with all of this anti American sentiment we're seeing from these kids on social media, these folks who say they hate our country. If you don't like America, don't live here, okay? Go live somewhere else. But as we've seen with Rosie O', Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres and all of these celebrities, the second they go and try to hack it and live somewhere else, they come running back because there's no place like the United States of America. Shout out to our followers around the globe. Keep tuning in, but I'm allowed to love my country and feel patriotic. So the USA Hockey team, they beat Canada in overtime. This is the first gold in 46 years. This is Miracle on Ice. Now, let me give you a quick metal count, okay? Team USA achieved its best ever Winter Olympics performance. They took second in the medal count behind Norway in the 2026 Winter Olympics. But look, you kind of expect the folks from Norway to do well because it's cold. They're over in Europe. They got that ice and snow, you know, you kind of expect them to do well. In the Winter Olympics, we took home a total of 33 medals. 12 gold, 12 silvers, 9 bronze. This is incredible. I'm so, so, so proud of our athletes. 98% of them are patriotic, great young people who are proud to be Americans. And then of course, you have some of the commies, like amber Glynn. So Ms. Amber Glenn, the Team USA figure skater, she's invented new ways to play the victim card. Like, I've never seen someone play the victim card so well. Like, she might not have taken home gold on her own, but she has taken home a gold for playing the victim card. So Amber Glenn, she decided to blame her little breakdown and her poor performance on the fact that she was on her period. Yes, I just said that. I did not make that up. She did an interview with a French television television station where she said she was extra emotional and yes, she was on her period and that it was really hard to do her job. It's hard and it's scary. She said it was scary to be on her period and then she doubled down. She went over to Instagram and did a long Instagram story about her menstrual cycle, tmi. And then she went ahead and said again that it can make her extra emotional and high stress situations. This has caused a firestorm online from women. Amber Glenn thought when she opened up about how Flo came to town, I guess she landed in Milan and Flo came too. I guess she thought that she was going to become some feminist icon. The women I've heard from and I've interviewed now over 20 women in the past 48 hours and then read thousands of comments on social media. They're not happy. The girls are not happy. From baby boomers to Gen Z, everyone in between. I think she thought she was going to be a feminist icon. She has set women back and I'll tell you why. In the workplace, okay, I work with strong, powerful women every single day. I've never heard a woman say, sorry, I had a little breakdown, sorry, I had a meltdown and I didn't deliver in the presentation. I was on my period. I'm so sorry. That is setting women back, right? Those are the old stigmas and stereotypes that men would use against women to say why they couldn't be in positions of power, why they couldn't be president someday, why they couldn't run for office. Oh, she's going to be too emotional. Oh, she's on the rag. Oh, it's that time of the month again. These are the that guys used to say about women. And so to see Amber Glenn come out and use this as an excuse for her poor performance, not delivering, having a little bit of a breakdown, okay? She could have come out and said, you know what? I'm humbled by the experience being here. I wish I'd done better. That's all you had to say. You can't blame it on the fact that you were on your period. And as a guy, as a gay guy, I know nothing about the female anatomy, but my life is so enriched by the strong women within it. Women bring life into the world. They're powerful. They're strong. I have never heard any of my boss babe friends say, sorry, I'm on my period, I can't get my job done. Sorry, I can't do that. I have friends who are running small businesses, who are CEOs, friends who work in retail restaurants, fast food friends who are stay at home moms, friends who are in college. I've just never heard a woman in the real world say, I can't get my job done because I'm on my period. I've never heard it. And so for Amber Glenn, I think that's embarrassing. I think she should go back to the drawing board. I think karma came back around for her. She showed up with bad energy and a bad attitude, saying how hard it was in America as a queer person. She's so oppressed as a queer person, even though she's literally at the Olympics right now on behalf of our country. And karma came back around and it got her. And so Amber Glenn, I'm not sure if we'll be hearing from you much longer. I don't know if we'll see Amber Glenn at the next Winter Olympics. She is, I think, the oldest girl in this entire cycle. And so by next Olympics, she'll probably still be the oldest. I don't know if we'll be hearing from Amber Glenn. I don't know if Team USA is happy with her. She didn't really go over there and do what she needed to do. She created a lot of negative press. She seems to have big demons and fish to fry. I mean, she can't figure out, is she pansexual, is she bisexual? She want to be this? Does she want to be that? I think when you have all that going on inside. You can't do what you need to do in those high stress situations. But you can't blame the fact that you're on your period for your poor performance. You just can't do it. Amber. The Andrew formerly known as Prince was arrested last week for allegedly emailing some insider information, some business information to Jeffrey Epstein years ago. This actually doesn't have anything to do with misconduct with young women or girls. As of right now, the arrest was allegedly over. When he was a trade envoy for the United Kingdom. He emailed his friend Epstein like a doofus. He wanted to show off and say, hey, I've got all this information on what you should do with your business dealings. And it came back to bite him. But Prince Andrew, to be honest, I'm not letting him off the hook at all. But he's always just been a doofus, okay? He was his mommy's favorite. He was the queen's favorite all through the 80s and 90s. It was discussed. He's sort of been the black, black sheep of the family. He was the original spare. We talk about Prince Harry being the spare, but Prince Andrew was the original spare. He and Fergie, they've been like, you know, thing one and thing two for decades. They have their whole relationship. They're like two little hucksters. I love them, okay? I'm not happy with their behavior and what's gone on. But do I think Prince Andrew needs to go to prison for the rest of his life? Like some people are saying he needs to be locked away for his entire life? No, I don't. If the courts work themselves out and he does, he did something so egregious and terrible, okay, lock him up and throw away the key. But I think Andrew's biggest sin and speaking to other sort of sources in the UK and other folks who've covered the royal Family, they'll tell you Andrew's just a doofus, okay? There's a reason members of the family never even really associated with him too much. And we got this picture of him, okay, leaving the prison or leaving the jail. And I have to tell you, not a great picture, okay? This is him in the back of the car after he's been at the jail for about 12 hours when he was apprehended. I don't know what's worse, okay, Getting arrested for a white collar crime, some insider trading, giving information, or being photographed from the chin up, okay? I would. I rather do a night in prison or have the whole world see me from this angle. I'd probably choose the former, okay? So Prince Andrew, actually think the hardest part about all of this is this picture. It's one of the worst pictures I've ever seen. So, Prince Andrew, you've always got to look snatched, okay? If you're gonna get photographed leaving prison. I grew up in the early 2000s where you had, like, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, you know, in and out of jail. You gotta look snatched when you're leaving the prison. I don't know what's worse, going to jail, going to prison for life, or being photographed from this angle. Nobody looks good from this angle, okay? One thing I love is that King Charles and the rest of the royals are carrying on, okay? They're carrying on. They already excommuned Andrew a long time ago from the family. They excommunicated him. They pushed him out, they stripped his titles, they kicked him out of Royal Lodge. They don't include him in events. He's been Persona non grata for a long time. And so a lot of folks online, they're saying, Charles needs to abdicate. Charles needs to leave the throne. The royal family needs to be shut down. The royal family will continue to endure. They've been around for a long, long, long time. I do think it's time for the next generation. And Catherine and William, of course, Catherine and William have their Fin the pulse. They understand what young people want in this country. They understand the diverse makeup of the commonwealth. But Prince Charles just became King Charles on May 6th of 2023. Okay, I was up at 2am watching and covering the whole coronation. That's kind of how I started my career in all of this. And so for King Charles to say that he should abdicate and give up the throne when he's just had his shot to be king and make his mark, and he's had really great, innovative ideas for decades. Look at the prince's trust and everything he tried to do in the 80s, 80s, 90s, 2000s. Let the man be king for a minute. Why should he abdicate? Because his dumbass doofus little brother got caught up with this guy. There's no picture we can find of Charles with Epstein where they were ever friends, where they ever had any business dealings. Of course, this isn't ideal. It's not ideal, but should Charles be blamed for all of the sins of his much younger brother, who he's never even liked that much or been that close to? Should Charles abdicate? No, let the man govern. Okay? Let the man govern. Let him do his job. He's carrying on with his royal engagements. But I just don't like this narrative that they got a few days of really bad press, Andrew's arrested, which is, of course, historic. But then suddenly, the whole royal family needs to go down for Andrew. William and Catherine didn't know this guy. They didn't know Epstein. They didn't do any of this. So why should the whole family be taken down to the studs over something Andrew did? They've excommunicated him. He's Persona non grata. He's been canceled and, you know, polite society. What more, you know what I'm saying? If he needs to serve some time for what he did, I understand that. I do not support him spending the rest of his life in jail. Maybe it means I have a soft spot, a blind spot. I thank you guys for going with me. Okay? You know I love you. I welcome an open debate and dialogue in my comments. For me, though, I just do not want to see Prince Andrew go to prison for life unless he's done something so egregious, right where he put the entire country in jeopardy and gave some secrets. I think what it really was when he was emailing Epstein with some of this insider information. Andrew wanted to seem like, I'm the smart, cool guy and I finally have something to bring to the table for my rich, cool friend, you know, I think that is what it was on a human level. I think it should be adjudicated and go through the courts. But no, Prince Andrew should not spend life in prison. And I don't see that happening. But I understand folks online, they're getting a little sensational. They're getting a little bit sensational. But I want to discuss also really quickly, William and Catherine. They attended the Baftas, which is sort of like the UK's version of the Oscars, the Golden Globes. Timothee Chalamet was there, Leonardo DiCaprio. William and Catherine were, of course, the rock stars. Catherine is wearing a dress that she wore back in the day, I believe in 2019 or 2022. So she's rewearing, recycling a dress. I love, love, love this, okay? Because why should you wear something once and then throw it away or never wear it again? So I love that she's re wearing a dress. They seem to be happy. They seem to be in good form. Of course it's a shock what's going on with Andrew's arrest, but I don't think it's too shocking. Right. They already booted him from the family. They said. They have said they're cooperating. They're going to give over any files, whatever the police need. They're moving on. Okay? The future of the monarchy is here. William and Catherine are incredible. They have their finger on the pulse. They know what young people want. They understand this next generation. They understand that there are folks out there who take polls and say they don't want the monarchy anymore and it's their job to try and win them over and show why the monarchy has such value, not just in the UK, but in the entire Commonwealth, which is about 2 billion people. So I love to see William and Catherine out. I'm also a firm believer in keep moving, okay? If a family's in crisis, if there's a PR issue, just keep moving. Put one foot in front of the other, because if you stop, you lose that momentum. And so I love to see them out there. She rewore the dress. They're at the award show. They did not stop to speak to the press, which I wasn't shocked by, but that's here in the notes. So they didn't stop to give a bunch of interviews, people. Probably not the best time to stop and give a bunch of interviews. But the last thing I want to talk about as it pertains to the royals, I want to put up a picture of the real monarchy. When I think of the monarchy, Charles, William And George, that is the future of the monarchy. Andrew and Fergie, they've been fun characters for the tabloids to follow, but they've always been kind of goofuses. Okay, how many scandals has Fergie been in? Prince Andrew, They've never been those senior royals who you think are ever going to be close to the throne. Right? They've always been ancillary characters. And so the fact that there's this PR crisis, I'm not really that shook by it. You know what I'm saying? I'm not really that bothered by it. Because to me, when I think of the monarchy, Charles, William and George, that's it. That's the line of succession. Harry and Meghan, I don't think they should have their titles. I don't think their kids should have their titles. I don't understand why they're still in line for the throne when they live over in California and a McMansion and Mon. Harry and Megan's kids, one of them, I don't even think has been to the uk. They. They don't even know that they're royalty. So when I look at the future of the monarchy, I'm excited. I'm happy for it. You guys know I love to follow the royals. You make fun of me for it, but William's gonna be great. George, let him be a kid, but I'm sure he'll be great someday as well. But this pr. This Prince Andrew stuff will be following it. I'm sure there will be more fallout. I'm sure the shoe hasn't dropped yet. The fat lady hasn't sung yet. But with Prince Andrew, I do not think he should spend the rest of his life in prison. I think he's a doofus. Okay? I think he made a dumbass decision and some dumbass choices, but I don't think the man needs to be locked away for the rest of his life like he's a killer. Now we have to talk about Comrade Momdani in New York City. Okay? The mayor of New York City, Zuran Mamdani. You guys, the Democratic Party. The hypocrisy knows no bounds. You won't find bigger hypocrites than the folks like Zoran Mamdani and aoc. It's the rules for the. But not for me. Because apparently you need two forms of identification to go and shovel snow in New York. But then they're fighting against voter id. Let me break down all the details. So Mamdani, on Saturday, he put out a call for emergency snow shovelers out of a powerful storm. If you're in New York, you've seen the bad storm. It's pretty terrible. This requires workers to submit multiple forms of identification contrasting the city's election policy for voters. Now, the DSNY announced Saturday it's recruiting these temporary shovelers to remove snow, and it's going to pay them starting $19.14 per hour, increasing to $28.71 per hour after the first 40 hours. Now, they must meet a number of requirements. They must be 18, able to perform heavy physical labor. Well, I'm already out and eligible to work in the US they must bring two small 1.5 inch square photos, two original forms of ID and copies, along with with a security card for registration. Okay, that is a lot. But these folks are against voter id. They say that folks don't have access to copy machines and printers, and they could never get all this stuff. To shovel snow, you have to show 15 different ways that you're an American. You know what I'm saying? You have to have, like a picture that's this size and then cut it like this to go shovel snow. Shouldn't our elections be more secure than the snow shoveling in New York City also? Mom, Donnie's been in office now about two months. Okay. You've also lived in New York for years. You know that when there's a bad storm, you need services. You had a bad storm recently. You knew this storm was coming. Couldn't you have found the resources you needed as the mayor? Now you're here in the 11th hour begging John Q. Public to get out their identification cards and to come and volunteer. And I understand there are folks who need to make extra money, of course, but why weren't you prepared to do your job? Zora Mamdani And I just love these stories where you can see the double standards. It's like when the Democrats for decades talked about tariffs. Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, everyone in between on the left, they wanted tariffs. The second President Trump and the Republicans pushed for tariffs, all hell broke loose. Right? Because it's the rules for the. Not for me. And we're just in this partisan environment with all this push and this pull. And so it's interesting to see the huge backlash against Zoran Mamdani because you actually think the threshold should be much lower to go and shovel snow. You know what I'm saying? Like, voting should be a lot more difficult than shoveling snow, not the other way around in these blue states and blue regions. But we'll be monitoring this story and if you're in New York, please stay safe. Please stay warm. Don't go out unless you have to. Well, my friends, I could not be more excited about this next guest. He's agent, friend, exclusive senior advisor to our kind of favorite person, first lady Melania Trump. You guys know I love her. I'm probably the leader of the Melania Trump fan club. He's also just a great guy. He's a father, he's a husband. He's a real mensch. Okay, if you don't know what that word means, go Google it. It's a big compliment coming from me. My dad and my aunt would be so proud of me for using it. So without further ado, let's bring in Mark Beckman. Mark, how are you doing today, sir?
Mark Beckman
Link, I'm doing great. Thank you so much for having me. I appreciate it. It's great to see you.
Link Lauren
So great to see you. I want to start off by talking about the film Melania. Okay, We've talked about it ad nauseum on here, but there's still some folks who haven't seen it yet. I think they're trying to make their way to the theaters. They want to go out and see it. Have you been shocked at just such the positive reaction it's gotten? I mean, some of these people, Mark, they're going two, three times to the theater. They're taking girlfriends. Have you been shocked at the reaction?
Mark Beckman
Look, I mean, first, let me tell you, and to all of your audience and the fans of the First Lady, I am so grateful that they're taking the time out of their day to go and see the film, to hear this, you know, historic story, a story that's never been told before, but it means the world to me and to the first lady, as we have put so much time and effort to create a story that's never been told before. And what I'm really proud of is that the first lady once again created this groundbreaking moment where she identified a concept that has never been told before as it relates to theatrical, cinematic production. The story of not her Life, but the 20 days leading up to becoming first lady of the United States of America again. And what happens during that time period as it relates to her family, her career, and for philanthropy. It's not an easy journey for one to go on, and it's never been told before. So it's really for everybody in your audience. And frankly, I'm very grateful that they've gone. You know, several times in some instances, I've heard the same story. It's amazing.
Link Lauren
Totally. I mean, Even some of these women, they recreated. And we can probably find a picture. They recreated the First Lady's inauguration outfit, that Air Vapierre design. And I thought it was AI at first, I thought, this has to be AI but no, they really went and saw it. Were there any scenes. Okay. That were left on the cutting room floor? Was there anything that was cut that you're like, oh, man, I wish we kept that in. Or you're in love with the final product?
Mark Beckman
Okay. There's a lot that we were not able to tell. Great question, Link, because this is why we've built the docu series. So, as you might be well aware of, we have a docu series that will be launching soon. We haven't locked the date yet, but it looks like it will happen this summer. And that docu series will allow for fans of the first lady to learn more about what her life is like. She opens the lens a little further. She authors this incredible story about her career, her family, her philanthropy, and being First Lady. So there's a lot that we didn't include because the film is only, as you know, one hour and 44 minutes. So now we could go deeper and unpack these stories for our audience. And I just want to be clear. The docu series is something that the first lady is very, very proud of, equally, if not more proud of than the film itself, because she's created a new way to tell the story, and it's an entirely new story because we had so much footage from those 20 days that we couldn't fit into an hour and 44 minutes, as you mentioned.
Link Lauren
Well, no, I'm so excited for the docu series. I mean, I can't get enough of First Lady Melania Trump content. But no, it was just those first 20 days. For the few listeners of mine who don't know about the film, it is that transition from private citizen to first lady of the United States, picking out the outfit, the gown, down to the coop they're going to drink out of. Down to what her father's room is going to look like. It really is everything. Is the docu series going to tackle and cover some of what she's done since getting into the White House? Like going to North Carolina, reuniting children with their families. Is it going to tackle some of that, or is it still those first 20 days? Break it down for me.
Mark Beckman
Well, look, Link, you're not going to like this answer, but you got to go see it.
Dr. Horton Advertiser
You got to see it.
Mark Beckman
I don't want to give too much. It Is, like I said, there is a lot that has never. Most of it, frankly, has not been seen yet. So there's a lot there, but we just isolate the 20 days and you got to go see it if you want to get those stories.
Link Lauren
Absolutely. Well, I probably will be first in line. So I want to ask you also really quickly about the reunification of children who are misplaced in the Russia Ukraine war. Right. This is a war that started February of 2022. I know President Trump says all the time I thought this would be the easiest war to end, but I think when two entities are just hell bent on continuing to fight, there's only so much we can do. And it's horrible that children are caught in the crossfire of that. Children who have no choice but to be in the situation. What's it like working with the first lady on reuniting these children? Because it feels like some of the most impactful work that she's doing.
Mark Beckman
It is definitely, you know, arguably her most important and best work. I'm grateful to be connected with her in this capacity. There's no out about it now. It's interesting to note, perhaps one can argue that the first lady of the United States of America has been the most impactful as it relates to creating substantive, tangible peace between these two war torn nations. In this war torn region, Ukraine and Russia, she's the only one that has actually had results to date. We have a lot of meetings with NATO and world leaders and conversations with the United States government, the Russian government, the Ukrainian government, but that's all talk. We see missiles still flowing, we see death and destruction. And yet it's our first lady who's been the most effective at reuniting these individuals with their families on both sides, by the way, it's Ukrainian children with their families and Russian children with their families. It's been very effective and very powerful. And I'm really proud to be a part of that.
Link Lauren
No, I love it too. It's so funny, as people always say online, they're like, she's the most impactful First Lady. She's the best first lady we've had. I'm like, she's getting more done than most people in Congress, in the Senate. Very few people actually get anything substantive done in Washington at all. And she's reuniting children. She's getting legislation passed. Ever wake up sweaty, freezing or just plain uncomfortable? One thing I love about the first lady also, and this came through in the film, she seems focused on these bipartisan issues, right? Like the Take It Down Act. Let's talk about that. That that is going to be beneficial to people who voted for President Trump, people who did not, people who aren't even allowed to vote yet. What was it like seeing her champion the Take it Down Act? And why was that something that was so important?
Mark Beckman
Incredible. I mean, to your point, she received bipartisan support. It was overwhelming. Almost 100% of Congress voted for this new legislation that she championed. And it makes sense. It's to support our children at the core. It's about supporting our children that have become victims of non consens intimate imagery, effectively AI being used for deep fake porn and then spread all over social media platforms. She's for that. Look, the reality is that there are certainly several issues that our country could find common ground, whether you're on the right or you're on the left. And one of them happens to be our next generation children. And Melania Trump is one of the world's biggest advocates for children. And we'll see this also coming up a lot in March. As you might recall, she's going to be launching Fostering the Future together, this global coalition to empower children through the use of education and technology. On March 24th and 25th, the inaugural meeting is happening in Washington D.C. at the White House in the State Department. And first lady Melania Trump is hosting that. Again, people from all over the world will be convening in Washington D.C. because of her efforts for children. So our country should keep, keep behaving this way where we can prioritize our children over geography, we can prioritize our children over ideology. We don't have to be in red, red or blue when it comes to the next generation. We could all come together. And I'm proud to share that she already has new legislation in the works. She's been working in Congress to create more legislation surrounding the executive order Fostering the Future. So that's permanent and helps American foster care individuals for the long term. To your point, beyond this administration, Absolutely.
Link Lauren
No, I love fostering the future. One thing I talked about the other day, we're talking about, you know, all of these celebrities who adopt kids from Africa and around the world. I'm like, what about the kids here in our foster care system who we're trying to put through school, who we're trying to find homes for? So I love fostering the future. I want to switch gears to a more overarching question. Okay. So I was looking through my collector's edition, okay. Of Melania. Now, this book is about the size of my first apartment and I had to do bicep curls to even listed. But big book, you guys. In this book, I was skimming through it and there's a chapter about the RNC in 2016. And what comes through in that chapter is the first lady talks about how she realized coming into politics in the circus and the chaos, she was going to have to be meticulous and involved in everything. Even if she trusts the people around her, she has to be the one. She can't delegate and expect it's going to get done perfectly like she is on the ball. And then even watching her, the little bit I have, nothing happens that she is not meticulously involved in. Is it such a privilege working with someone who's in the driver's seat? Because a lot of public figures, they'll put their names on something, they'll show up for the ribbon cutting, but she seems like she is down in the nitty gritty of the details.
Mark Beckman
Mark, I'm honored to work with the First Lady. It's the best work that I do. And I will tell you this. People don't realize it. She's the hardest working person. She works every single day, weekends, holidays, and she drives a vision. I think this time in this administration, it's very exciting because what she's doing is she's reinventing the office of the First Lady. She's still taking care of those very important activities and duties that a First lady in the East Wing would traditionally take care of. State Department dinners, State dinners. Rather hosting important national events, Christmas, Easter, et cetera. But what she's doing now is focused on being impactful, helping people's lives become better. So she's not raising awareness. She's not just creating policy arguments and supporting policy. She's actually changing people's lives. And you see this through a lot of her initiatives, from her work in artificial intelligence to her work with the foster care community and beyond. It's incredible to work with her. She keeps me going, Link. She never stops. Ever. You hold up that book, I bleed that book. That was something that she put together when she wasn't First Lady. By the way, this book is really cool. Similar to the film where I said the film and the docu series are totally different. Different way to tell the story and different part of the story. That book that you have there, you might have seen at the back of it, there are a bunch of photos that the first lady took through her eyes. These are her own individual photos that she shot. They're not in the trade edition. Exactly, exactly. A lot of.
Link Lauren
I'm Vanna White. Okay.
Mark Beckman
And a little teaser. Get ready. You might see a similar technique. It's her idea. Give her all the credit in the docu series.
Link Lauren
Okay. Okay. No, I love everything she does. But no, I was so happy to have this book. It is very Heavy, you guys. But go out and get the book, because I love a book with pictures I love going through. And there are things you don't remember from the first term, because I wasn't even that ensconced in politics. I was in college, living my life. I wasn't that interested. But you go back and you're like, this did happen in the first term and this happened. I mean, these people, they've been in the trenches now for 10 years. Years. The last question I want to ask you about is something we cover all the time. And those are sort of the double standards and how the media covers women on the left and women on the right. And I look at the first lady as a bipartisan figure, which we've talked about a lot. But the media, anytime she does something, the mainstream media, they will malign her. They will attack her, even when she's doing this incredibly impactful work. What is it like for you watching the way the media attacks her just because she happens to be working in a Republican administration? And almost seems like right on the left, they do all this female empowerment and feminism and uplifting other women. But that's not often extended to Melania because she happens to be within this Republican structure. Mark, do you get what I'm saying?
Mark Beckman
I do. And the reality is, Link, this is the world we live in today. Fortunately, those people who are hurting her on the left, who take jabs at her no matter what, fortunately for them, they're benefiting from her efforts. For example, we mentioned the Take It Down Act. Their own children will benefit from the protective device that she put into play. Now for non consensual, intimate imagery. She holds our country out on the highest standard. How beautiful has the White House looked over Christmas? I think you were there and you visited. I mean, it's incredible what she's doing. They should all be proud to have a First lady who cares so much, pays such attention to detail. And she'll continue to drive for the next three years to benefit those people, too.
Link Lauren
Absolutely. No, I think this is. No, don't tell her husband. He knows I love him, too. But this is like Nobel Peace Prize kind of work here, bringing the kids home from war. This is Nobel Peace Prize stuff. I'm just. Not that she cares about accolades. She doesn't. In fact, the last thing I'll say is when I saw her at the White House, I was just telling her, you know, how incredible she is and how grateful I am to be there. My friend was like, you don't have to give her all these compliments and I'm like, I know she doesn't need them but when else am I going to talk to her? So I think she's incredible. This is Nobel Peace Prize level stuff. I'm so excited about the film. I'm so excited about the docu series. I'm so grateful that you came on and thank you and have an amazing week, Mark. Seriously, thank you.
Mark Beckman
