Kavi
My wife and I are excited to start trying for a baby. The issue is we're both vegan and the kid will be vegan. That decision's been made. I'm good from a health side, I'm worried about making my kid an outcast.
Unknown Comedian
I have concern.
Kavi
Is there anything I can do to mitigate the damage? Should the kid get to decide once they're old enough? 13, 15? Who knows? Now to add some context, I was not vegan while I dated my wife for the first four years. My whole life I got to experience all the culinary offerings of the world before I went meat sober. The kid will not. I realize that that's a major drop off from what other kids will get to experience and I'm good with that, but more concerned about how they'll be perceived by other good with that it means anything. My wife did convince me against circumcision. She's got a good head on her shoulders and she think that one for two we need to live our lives just because everybody else does the same way. So need some advice from an alternative type guy? Thanks. Kavi.
Unknown Comedian
Yeah, it's me baby.
You are an alternative type.
I'm an alternative type guy.
You're an alternative to a guy.
Hey, what the hell Elders do not give JP the laugh for saying I'm not a guy. Stop that right now. Not a guy. Explain that. That was guy like that little squeaker. Put some bass in your bro. What the heck? Even my fart back fired. I'm Toast. I'm gayer than this kid's vegan. Than this guy's vegan son.
Oh, I'm not a guy. Piccolo noise.
You, you get embarrassed when we fart in public. See, JP's like turns red and he's like, I mean it is a lot, man.
That's a lot.
In the streets, man. That's a lot of street. We in the car, both of you, pussy. We at the cheek zone. You can do that at the cheek zone. You can't.
Yeah, that's actually true. You can do that and that you. It's one of the main things you do in there.
Okay, this is calming me, this is calling me, putting me in the right mindset to answer this guy's question. This guy just withholding the choice of life from his theoretical child. Here's what is. Look, you want to raise your kid vegan, whatever, it's your, like, that's your kid. But I do think when they, if they are like, I'd like to try this food, you kind of let them. You kind of got to let them. You know what I mean? Like I, that's what like you can set up vegan infrastructure. Look, he's your kid, he's you. Both you and your wife are vegan. Like we had, we have friends who raised their kids vegan and then they gave them the choice and they just stayed vegan.
It's just weird to try to, to me to enforce veganism.
I agree.
At a certain age, like when they're out of the home, like that just feels like weird religion.
It feels religious. Like when they get to like 12 and they're like, you know what I like chicken nuggets. You kind of gotta let them eat chick. You know what I mean? Like, and, but that is some vegan people really are like, killing a chicken is like killing a baby. You know what I mean? Like they're like that and it's like.
I need a baby.
No, it is. Give me the baby wild. Dude, I never seen baby nuggets nowhere.
Chickens are all over the earth.
For us to eat them chicken you can.
They're carrying around our meat. That's what their purpose.
Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, I don't know. I think now in terms of other kids fucking with him. I don't, I honestly don't think kids now are actually hysterically open minded. Yeah, by then, I know.
I don't think they would.
They're all gay. They're all easy to bully because he's.
Lethargic and his bones will break. Easily.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They won't. Yeah, I don't think that's an issue. I think really, like, here's the thing. If he comes to you at 12 and he says, I want to get. Sir, I want to pull the old eldest dad and get circumcised. Like you, you gotta, it's his body, you know what I mean? Like, it's say I feel the same way about like imposing any kind of strict like diet. It's like the kid doesn't want to do it, you know, like. Or if he's like, I just want to be vegetarian. You gotta let that motherfucker have cheese. So. But I don't think there's anything wrong. You've made your decision. Like, I think it's fine to look for the first however many years of a kid's life. It does whatever the fuck you tell it to, right? And. But when it gets past that, I think you have to be a little more open minded than that and just let him, let the kid find its own way.
You also gotta like expect it or something. I think about like Weinberg who just did the show and he was like, he was like, I was sneaking chicken in my bedroom.
Right? Weed, Right, right, right.
It's like his parents were vegan or whatever, right?
I, I already, it already feels like if you're being that militant, you're almost guaranteeing he'll fucking rebel and eat. When you're that militant, you either get little drones that follow you completely and then they have to break that, or you get people that are overly rebellious. I think you just have to present them.
Want a kid that didn't rebel and try.
Yeah.
Milk.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But everywhere.
So yeah, man, let that little do what he wants.
Cam Newton didn't start acting like that until he went vegan. He typed Norma.

Stavvy's World – Episode Bonus #101: Kush Brothers Vol. 16 [PATREON PREVIEW]
Release Date: November 8, 2024
Host: Stavros Halkias
In this bonus episode of Stavvy's World, Stavros Halkias and his friends delve into a thoughtful and engaging discussion on vegan parenting. The episode, titled "Kush Brothers Vol. 16 [PATREON PREVIEW]," features a heartfelt voicemail from a listener named Kavi, who seeks advice on raising a vegan child without causing social friction.
At [01:01], Kavi shares his excitement about starting a family with his wife, emphasizing their commitment to a vegan lifestyle and their determination to raise a vegan child. His primary concern revolves around the potential social challenges their child might face:
Kavi: "I'm good from a health side, I'm worried about making my kid an outcast. Is there anything I can do to mitigate the damage?"
Kavi elaborates on his background, mentioning that he wasn't vegan during his first four years of dating his wife and has since embraced a meat-free lifestyle. He fears that his future child might miss out on diverse culinary experiences and might be perceived differently by peers.
The conversation that ensues is a blend of humor and earnest advice, highlighting the hosts' camaraderie and diverse perspectives on veganism and parenting.
Stavros and his friends discuss the importance of setting firm foundations while allowing the child the autonomy to make personal choices as they grow older:
Host: "If you want to raise your kid vegan, that's your choice. But when they reach an age where they want to make their own food choices, you need to let them decide."
They emphasize the balance between guiding the child and respecting their individual preferences, suggesting that rigid enforcement might lead to rebellion or resentment.
The hosts explore the potential social implications of raising a vegan child, debating whether modern children are open-minded enough to embrace veganism without feeling out of place:
Host: "I honestly don't think kids now are actually hysterically open-minded. They might get bullied because of being vegan."
However, another perspective is offered, suggesting that with the increasing awareness around veganism, children might find acceptance more readily than anticipated.
Several practical strategies are shared to help mitigate Kavi's concerns:
Introduce a Variety of Vegan Foods Early On: Expose the child to a diverse range of plant-based foods to ensure they enjoy varied and nutritious meals.
Educate and Empower: Teach the child about the reasons behind their dietary choices, fostering a sense of pride and understanding.
Social Support: Connect with other vegan families or communities to provide a support network for both the parents and the child.
Flexibility as They Grow: Allow the child to explore and make their own choices regarding their diet once they are old enough to understand the implications.
Kavi’s Dilemma:
Kavi ([01:01]): "I'm good from a health side, I'm worried about making my kid an outcast."
On Parental Control:
Host ([03:24]): "You want to raise your kid vegan, whatever, it's your... but I do think if they are like, I'd like to try this food, you kind of let them."
On Flexibility and Autonomy:
Host ([05:03]): "If he comes to you at 12 and he says, I want to get circumcised... it's his body, you know what I mean?"
Humorous Take on Rebellion:
Host ([06:06]): "If you're being that militant, you're almost guaranteeing he'll fucking rebel and eat."
The episode underscores the complexities of parenting within a specific lifestyle choice, such as veganism. Key takeaways include:
Balance is Crucial: While it's essential to instill core values and dietary habits in children, granting them the freedom to make personal choices fosters independence and self-confidence.
Open Communication: Encouraging open dialogue about dietary choices and the reasons behind them can help children understand and embrace their lifestyle without feeling alienated.
Preparation for Social Dynamics: Anticipating potential social challenges and preparing strategies to address them can empower both parents and children to navigate social settings confidently.
Community Support: Building connections with like-minded families can provide a supportive environment, reducing the feeling of isolation for both parents and children.
Overall, Stavros and his friends provide a balanced perspective, blending humor with practical advice, making this episode both entertaining and insightful for listeners navigating similar parenting challenges.
