Right off the bat, from the very beginning, we want to just take this opportunity to thank those that have been going on this journey with us. If you have not already, like, subscribe, share, please do so. It helps us with the advancement of this proclamation we've believe in and helping us spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to thank all of our street team that's been sharing these podcast episodes that have been liking subscribing. They help us tremendously. And so if you have not already done so, please do so. And we have an incredible text that we are going to continue to unpack. We've been in the Book of Jude, and I'm excited about what God is going to do today through this episode. And so we want to welcome you to the Street Preachers Podcast. I'm your host, Tim Timberlake.
A
I'm your boy, Phillip Anthony Mitchell.
B
Man, where we going today, bro?
C
Yeah, man.
A
Before we jump into this, man, we just want to just also thank those of y' all who have supported yes, My brother Tim's book. I can't keep referencing up, man. The Bumpy Road to Better.
B
Yes, thank you.
A
Unlocking the Hidden Power in Hard Things. My man Tim is author. What book of number is this for you?
B
That's book number four.
A
It's book number four.
B
Book number four.
A
Seen some of you been purchasing the.
B
Book, posting about it, posting about the.
A
Book, talking about the book. I mean, we. It's been two weeks since it dropped. I would doubt that anybody has finished it yet. But we want to encourage you to go all the way through to the end. We promise you that this is going to be an incredible journey that's going to be lifechanging for you. And. And do us a favor, man.
C
If.
A
If you're reading the book and it's blessing you, if you're seeing things in there that are encouraging you, share those truths on social media. You know, go ahead and take something out of the book, post it on social media, you know, let people know that you're being encouraged by My brother Tim's book Abide as a gift for somebody, right? Maybe there's somebody going through something right now and they feel like God has forgotten them. Somebody right now going through a very difficult season. We feel like this book can be an encouragement to Them. And honest is not. You know, it's not really like a money grab, you know, it's. It's really. We just want to inspire as many people as possible. So thank y' all for those who've been supporting my brother's book. We really appreciate that. We see y' all out there, continue to support this book, buy it as a gift, share with other people. The bumpy road to better. How you feeling so far?
B
I feel phenomenal, man. The response has been humbling to see how the message is connecting with people. And I am blessed anytime someone decides to pick up something that God has placed in my heart and apply it to their reading and to their daily devotional in time with the word of God. This is not a substitute for the word of God.
C
Yeah.
B
Talk about this is not even an accessory to go with the word of God, because the word of God is great all by itself. Talk about that, bro. But I do believe that it will add value to the readers and those that go on this journey with us to the bumpy road to better, bro.
C
Yeah.
A
So doubt, man. Thank y' all for that support.
B
Thank you.
A
You know, I try to shy away from this in our last part, but, you know, we are calling, you know, the brothers and sisters, you know, locally in Atlanta and around the country, those who are tapped in 2019 to a historic gathering of prayer. Yeah, I'm not sure if this ever been done in our city before, but on October 12, 2025, at State Farm arena in Atlanta, Georgia, we have opened up that arena, 20,000 brothers and sisters, or even more than that.
B
Yeah.
A
You know, to come and join us for historic gathering of prayer. There are no celebrities on that platform. The only celebrity on that platform tonight will be the Lord Jesus Christ. And we are calling all of the brothers and sisters who are connected in 2019 digital disciples from across the country and around the world to join us for this historic gathering prayer in which we pound on heaven together in these last days, just believing God for his will to be done in our hearts, in our minds, in our marriages, in our families, in our churches, in our ministries, in our cities, in the United States of America and around the world. Jesus said of his own mouth, my house should be a house.
C
That's right.
A
Of prayer, you know? And I think if we cease to pray, we cease to fight. And I think if we don't pray, we don't have power. I think a prayerless believer will be a powerless one.
B
Come on.
A
And so I'm praying that. And our teams are praying actually we're praying around the clock, and it's going to intensify as we lead up to access that we will see signs, wonders, and miracles on that day. Don't believe in God for that.
B
Absolutely.
A
I'm believing that we will see healings and deliverances and stories of life change. And so join us, man. And if you need any information about that, access2819.com Believe in God for something incredible to happen, it's going to be supernatural. You're going to be in the building.
B
We got a small pilgrimage coming from Jacksonville. Like, it's. It's. It's something that I think we need to. Is something that the body of Christ needs.
A
Yeah.
B
You touched on something which I believe is what we're experiencing today. Powerless people who confess to be believers. Yeah, they're powerless because they're prayerless.
C
Yeah.
B
They lead their lives with methods instead of prayer and presence. And I'm excited, man. I was talking to. I was picking up Max from school, and at Max's school, one of the people who steward that school came up to my vehicle and said, if you see Pastor Philip, let him know we'll be in the building on access. And so I said, I definitely will. And just to see where God is taking this thing and how far it's reaching and people flying in from overseas, people coming like digital cycles from all over the world, assembling to the State Farm Arena. I wouldn't miss it, bro. I'm going to be in there.
A
I appreciate that, man.
B
Go be in there.
A
You know, and I really believe, too, you know, for people who may struggle in this area of prayer.
C
Right.
A
I know that for a lot of people, this is difficult. You know, I don't want to take for granted that there are people out there who genuinely love the Lord. But. But this area, it just seems difficult for them to connect. I do think in atmospheres like that, when you are surrounded by other people who are praying and who are crying out to God, something can happen in those kind of atmospheres. I feel that one can be ignited, one can be set on fire, one can receive gifts in those moments. I saw something special like that happen for my son during an access at our local building. And he was on his knees in the back of the room, and the Lord met him there on his knees and transformed his life. Right now on his knees, he received a heavenly language. And, you know, and my son was really a skeptic about, you know, supernatural gifts. And, man, he just wept on his knees for like the space of like maybe a half an hour long on his back. Like God really met him on his knees during access, during a time of prayer. And so I just want to just encourage people who are struggling in that area not to shy away because they are struggling, but to just get in the arena.
C
Yeah.
A
You know, get in the hallway, put your back against a wall, you know, walk the hall, sit down on a floor somewhere. I mean, people going to be praying for each other in the bathrooms. I mean, the spirit of God. We're believing for the spirit of God to invade that arena.
C
Yeah.
A
And to transform lives. I'm even believing, Tim, that people unsaved might creep in there.
B
Absolutely.
A
Fresh off the street. They might creep in and find Christ that night.
B
Power God.
A
Not only would it be believers in there praying, but that souls might be saved in the room that night. So I'm believing God for that, man.
C
Yeah.
B
And I think no matter where people are on their journey of faith and where they are in their prayer life, that they should come and be a part of it.
C
Yeah.
B
I remember me and Jen were trying to teach max, Max is 8 years old. How to pray.
C
Yeah.
B
And he would say these prayers that were redundant.
C
Yeah.
B
And I would say, no, no, Max, do it like this, do it like this, do it like this. And he would stop and he would pray the same thing over and over again. And I remember praying one night, and God reminded me, that's my child. I receive those prayers. They may be redundant to you, but those are words from my child's lips to my ears.
A
That's good, man.
B
And so for all of God's children out there that are like, man, my prayer life is inadequate, or I get distracted. Like, I get distracted when I pray.
A
Yeah, that's good.
B
And I. I get distracted. And one of the things that I have to really kind of keep before the feet of Jesus is even in my distraction, God receives my prayer.
A
That's good, man.
B
You know, I think sometimes we think, man, when I get distracted, God leaves. I know when. When my son is with me and I'm talking to him and he gets distracted, I'm still there, he's still there, and God is still there for. For those of us that are on this journey, that are like, man, God, with my brokenness, with my imperfections, with my shortcomings, he receives that because I am his.
A
And that's very comforting.
B
Oh, man.
A
That's telling me the story of Max, you know, because, you know, I was thinking even this morning, you know, like, everybody know, we record this podcast in New York. Even coming out the hotel this morning, you know, I was thinking about, you know, I sat up in my bed and I listened to instrumental worship. William Augusto.
B
Absolutely soak in worship.
A
Soaking in worship, man. William Augusto. I listen to that every day, all day, different volumes. Yo, that man might owe me some royalties.
B
I'm telling him every year, that man.
A
William Augusta might owe me some royalties, man. Put the whole world on Augusto. Yo, shout out. William Augusto. I think he lives in Spain, and. And his music has just been. It's just been a blessing to my life. And I was sitting in my bed in a hotel, and I was listening to new worship, and. And I was thinking to myself, you know, seeing God as a father, and. And I was sitting back and I was thinking, man, there's no place I'd rather be than this moment right here. I know we got to get to the studio. I know Tim and I got an episode to record, but I was sitting there thinking, there's no place I want to be right now more than this moment. For me personally, Philip Anthony Mitchell, man, there is. There is no place I enjoy more, or I would say, satisfies my soul more than just sitting with the Lord in quiet and in prayer. And I love how you said, like, even if we have to say that sometimes, you know, you say things to him like, Max over and over and over, but he's looking at the heart. I'm telling the sincerity of the heart. Even when I get distracted. Like, my daughters try to come at me the other day, said she think I got ADHD or something.
D
Like what?
B
Like, really?
A
She said it was like, they call me father. Father.
D
I don't think he was diagnosed. You fidget, you move from one topic to the next, right? He said, you'll be teaching us about this. You switch to this topic. They was like, father, we think it's about adhd.
A
Don't be speaking.
B
I don't think everyone sees that at all.
D
Like, and then when I walked away, I was like, wait a minute.
B
They got a point.
D
Like, they know you ain't never been diagnosed.
A
And. And.
D
And I get distracted, too, sometimes in my prayer.
C
Yeah.
A
I've even fallen asleep.
C
Yeah.
A
In God's presence.
B
Absolutely. That's the best. That's the best, bro. I, like, eat this.
A
I've fallen asleep in God's presence and just felt that peace.
C
Yeah.
A
And. And I. I've laid my head down like on the Bible. I've pillowed my head on God's word, and I'll just. I'll just Rest in his presence and wake up two hours ago by. And feel rejuvenated.
C
Right.
A
And so I like how you. You mentioned Max and. And. And going into his presence, just feeling like a kid, like a child. And just talking to your father, you know, and being honest, I don't even know why we. In this vein, maybe we need to just sit here for a second and just, like, encourage more people. You know, don't shy away from. From access. We want people to come, but don't shy away from God's presence in your own personal time. Like, and you don't have to be in a certain place at a certain time in a certain posture.
C
Yeah.
A
God will meet you in the shower. He will meet you at your kitchen table. He will meet you on a walk. He will meet you as you're driving to your job. He'll meet you in your cubicle. He'll meet you in the locker room. I want to even encourage somebody. Tim, you should tailor your prayers for who you are.
B
That's right.
A
Like, one size doesn't fit all.
B
Come on.
A
For one person, they'll connect with God in nature. Another person, they connect with God in a dark room, another person will connect with God on a walk, you know? And so tailor your prayers for your own personal personality. A prayer life is no. One size fits all. Like my wife, she likes to walk like Lena likes to walk and pray. Right. And so when she's ready to pray, she'll grab a headphone. She's gone.
C
Yeah.
A
And she might go two miles, three miles, and she'll go empty out her heart before the Lord and then come back to the house. She'll do that multiple times in a day.
B
Yeah.
C
Right.
A
For me. I'm gonna go downstairs to my prayer room.
C
Yeah.
A
I'm gonna close that door. I'm gonna put on some William Augusto.
B
That's right.
A
I got my little nightlight on. And I got that from my mom. I got my nightlight on, my Bible sitting right there. And it's gonna be the Lord and I in that. In that dark room with that night. For another person, they need to go sit on their back deck.
C
Yeah.
A
You know, whatever the case. But you should. You should tailor your prayers for your own personal wiring and just know that we're all called to come near the. Just come there to him.
C
Right.
A
And just be close and don't worry about sanitizing your prayers. Just. Just come in there and tell them the truth of what's going on. And I think this fall, man, it's just a Couple weeks away.
C
Yeah.
A
At State Farm Arena. I think there's a lot of people are going to be set on fire. And so even if you feel.
C
Even.
A
If you feel far away, even if you feel like God is mad at you because you haven't had a consistent prayer life, even if you feel that your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling right now and they're coming back, someone's watching, you feel like the Lord is not hearing me right now in this season. He knows how to throw logs on that dry fire.
B
That's right.
A
All right, so just, just, just get to the arena.
B
That's right.
C
Right.
A
And just, just get into the facility.
C
Right.
A
Even if you got to stand in a hallway and let God pour out some liquid fire and revive your soul and revive your prayer life. I think. And I'm believing God is going to be powerful, man.
B
I, I believe God for that. I think people will be healed.
A
Yeah.
B
Of physical illness, I believe it. Diseases, I believe it. Life threatening, life altering diseases, I believe it. That will take them if God does not intervene. I believe they will receive what they need that night, man.
A
I. It's so powerful that you're saying that because you know how back in August we had our baptism weekend.
B
Yes, absolutely right. And supernatural move of God, testimony of.
A
Appreciate that, bro. I saw a testimony, testimony of a woman who had been battling, I want to see if I can remember this right, some type of ailment for 15 years. And she was there, I believe, with her son, who was also battling some type of physical infirmity. I don't remember exactly what it was. I wish I could, but I don't remember. And they came down into the water together, that watery grave. And they said to themselves, they wrote us an email to, to our staff and said, they said to God, we're tired and weary and we're going to leave it right here in this water. And I think it was like a week later going to the doctors, the doctors was astounded. That woman, whatever she had for 15 years. I forgot the ailment. I wish I could remember. Pray the Holy Spirit, give it to me before I relieve this, before we leave this episode. That woman was supernaturally healed of that physical ailment after 15 years suffering. And her son, whatever he was battling, whatever sickness he had in his body, completely healed. And they celebrated when our staff got that email, man, we celebrated because we pour oil.
B
Absolutely.
A
And we pray over that water. And we believe God for mental healing, emotional healing, spiritual healing, physical healing. So to hear this, this mother and son Went down into that water and came out and was physically healed. Like the doctor she said was confused. Like whatever was some kind of pain and something that had affected her for 15 years, it's gone, man. She came out of that water completely healed. And I believe God is going to do the same thing again. This is my heart's desire that he will do the same thing again in that arena. In Axis, people would walk in one way and walk out, and they're walking cold and walk out on fire. They're walking confused and walk out with clarity. They'll walk in distant and walk out with intimacy. They'll walk in sick and walk out healed. We believe in God. We got prayer where we're praying around the clock, and it's going to intensify as we get closer and closer to the day.
B
So it's a beautiful thing, man. I. I encourage all of our viewers, all of our listeners, do whatever you can do to be in the room for access Oct. 12. All the street team, all of the street preacher viewers and listeners be in the room. And it's going to be a supernatural move of God, and we are expectant. We are believing God for everyone that comes that evening to experience an undeniable encounter with the Messiah.
A
Bro, I like. I like this thing you started on our podcast, bro. We didn't even talk about that. You'd be calling our listener street team.
B
Street Team.
A
I like that.
B
Mobilizing our viewers and listeners to step into. I like that. The proclamation of the gospel. No, no, you know, you just.
D
Have something off your sleeve. I like that, man. That's what I'm talking about. I like the way that feels, man.
B
The Street Team. Street Team.
A
So everybody that follows our podcast, we're.
B
Gonna start calling the street Team. Yes, sir.
A
The Street Team.
B
Yes, sir. So we have street team in New York, street team in New York, street team in Florida, street team in Jacksonville, street team in Atlanta, all over the world.
A
All over the world.
B
The street team.
A
I like.
B
Wherever you tuning in from, let us know they part of the street team. Part of the street.
A
We're gonna coin that.
C
Yes, sir.
A
We gotta get that trademark.
B
Absolutely.
D
Bro. I like that, bro. I like the way that feel.
A
Our street team, not just our pod podcast audience, our street team. Yo, you know my. My little sister Megan Ashley. Shout out to Megan Ashley. You know, I've known her for, like, almost 15 years from Bible college. Like, she called her crew the Village.
B
I love that. Hello.
D
Her crew called the Village. Everybody got their name for their crew, right?
A
And it's like. Like in 2019, we call our crew outside of joint our Digital Disciples, man.
D
But we gonna call our crew the street Team.
B
Yes, sir.
D
Like, yo, where your team at? Like, who's your crew?
C
Who's your crew?
D
Like, you're part of the street team in New York. Yo, I'm on that street team in Dallas. I'm Houston. I'm calling out cities we coming to. Yeah, I'm on that street team in Philly. Where else we coming? I'm on that street team in Philly. I'm on that Miami, Charlotte. I'm on the street team in Miami.
A
Where else we going, Tim?
B
Raleigh Durham.
D
Raleigh Durham. We coming back to York.
C
Baby.
D
Well, I got shot at twice. Y' all dudes is wild in the South. I shot at twice. Grace, me and Raleigh Durham. Yeah, we taking it to Raleigh Durham, the Bull City.
A
Yo. Street team in the Bull City.
B
Yeah, man.
A
Street team in Charlotte. Street team in Philly.
C
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
I'm just trying to remember some of the cities we're going to.
B
Absolutely.
A
Street team. I like that, bro.
B
Yeah. So wherever you are and you're part of the street team, help us spread the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. And today we got an incredible passage of scripture. We've been. We've been marching through the book of.
A
Jude, the letter of Jude. Really?
C
Yeah.
B
Even that big shoot. We've been trying to get through this thing, but we're just on verse number five right now. I think we've been in Jude for, like, the last three or four weeks.
C
Yeah.
B
And let's see. Let's see where God takes us today.
D
And.
A
And I want to say to our street team, I'm gonna start calling them that.
B
Absolutely.
A
Say to everybody on the street team. That's new.
C
That's it.
A
I'm about to start talking like that.
D
I'm about to start talking like that. Yo, I want to say everybody in our street team, right?
A
Like, if you.
D
If you're new to the street team.
A
Or you are OG on the street.
B
Team, like, day one, if you've been with us from episode one, right?
A
And you new to the street team.
D
You're og.
A
Like. Like, I feel like for our podcast, it's going to be like scriptures meets the culture.
C
Yeah. Right?
A
It'll be like, we. We gonna open up this book. We're gonna break this bread with the oil on it.
B
That's it, man.
A
Like, this.
C
This.
A
This is bread with oil. You know, we gonna break this bread with the oil on it, and we're gonna. We're gonna let Scriptures meet culture.
B
That's right.
A
You know, like, even. Even last episode, we was talking about the whole joint that broke out on the news with, you know, the, The. The.
B
The minister down in Florida.
A
Down in Florida, that, that. That the feds raided all of his venues and his home and everything and kind of talking about false prophets and just trying to warn.
C
Yeah.
A
Our street team about the dangers of false prophets, which was one of the great dangers that was mentioned in the New Testament. And then Jude, he continues his letter. Yeah, he says in verse five. Now, I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept them in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of that day.
C
Right.
A
This is, this is very powerful, Tim, because one of the things I want people to see here, I want you to notice how Jude, the biological brother of Jesus. Our street team, pay attention. How Jude, the biological brother of Jesus, mentions Jesus as the one that led the children of Israel out of Egypt.
B
Yes.
C
Yeah, right.
A
That's very powerful. Now.
B
It is.
A
I, I just want to mention this to our street team because. And I think we talked about this in the last episode, how the Lord said to the Pharisees, you search the scriptures for in them you think you find life. But it is these scriptures that testify of me. Now we know the whole canon of God's word, from Genesis to Revelation testify of the Lord Jesus Christ. But specifically, when the Lord said this, the New Testament had not been written, had not been canonized yet. So he's speaking of the Old Testament. That means if we read Genesis to Malachi, we'll find Christ.
B
Absolutely.
A
Every book, Right.
D
So here Jude tells us that it was Jesus.
B
That's right. That delivered the children, that led the.
A
Children of Israel out of Egypt.
B
Right.
A
So when we go back and we read that narrative in Exodus, it is.
D
Christ that is engineering that exit.
A
It is almost a type of salvation of sorts, in which Egypt looks like a type of the world.
C
Right.
A
And when they pass through the Red Sea is a type of baptism.
C
He.
A
He brings it to another land, which is a type of salvation.
B
Come on.
C
Right.
A
And he meets them in fire and in clouds.
D
So we see Christ is the one who brings that.
A
And there's a lot of doctrine here that we can unpack. We just want to remind people who are caught up in false belief that. That Jesus is not a created Being. No, you know, I. I don't want to throw a false Christianity under the bus, but y' all could go do your own research, right? Just, just. Jesus is not a created being.
C
Right.
A
He was not created by the Father.
D
He has always existed. He did not come to be when.
A
He was born in Bethlehem. He just borrowed a body when he was born in Bethlehem. He was incarnate when he was born in Bethlehem. But he is always existed in the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Christ has always existed. Right. That's why we see even the plurality of the Godhead. Genesis 1:26.
B
Let us make man in our image.
A
And after our likeness. And so we know that the Father is speaking. We know that the Holy Spirit is hovering. And then in John 1, John says that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And then verse 14, he says, and the Word became flesh.
B
That's right.
A
So we know that Christ was there in the beginning. And we see how Jesus was the one who delivered the children of Israel out of bondage.
B
Let me point this out.
C
Yeah.
B
When, when I was looking at this, Jude reminds us that deliverance does not guarantee destiny.
A
Come on.
B
So with the children of Israel being led out of Egypt, there were many that did not make it into the promised land.
A
It was supposed to be an 11 day journey. And they spent all those years walking around the same mountain because of their disobedience and unwillingness.
B
And so there were 40 years. That was supposed to be an 11 day journey.
A
Correct.
B
So deliverance does not guarantee destiny.
A
It does not.
B
Israel was saved out of Egypt. They were delivered out of the hands of Pharaoh. They were delivered out of the hands of their enemy. But many never saw the promised land, bro.
A
And there is a prototype of that in the New Testament.
C
Right.
A
And, and one of the prototypes is that although we are saved into the kingdom, the scripture talks about the perseverance of the saints.
C
That's it.
A
That, that I love what Paul says when he comes down to the end his life. And, and in fact, I don't know if I ever this Tim. Like I redefined success many years ago.
C
Right.
A
So you know, for what we do is easy to define success as. How big is your following social radio.
C
Right, right.
A
Or the size of your church budget or if you have a big facility, how many books you've written. And, and we kind of define success in a lot of these material things. A couple years ago I changed my definition of success for me personally. I went to second Timothy four.
C
Right.
A
And so I changed my definition of success to say for me, Tim, success is going to say for me is going to be, can I come down to the end of my life in ministry and be able to say I kept the faith?
C
Yeah. Right.
A
I fought the good fight. I finished my race.
C
Right.
A
And now there's laid up for me a crown that the Lord will give me on that day. So for me, if I can say that in the end, then that for me is my new definition of success for my life and for my ministry. And that my ultimate reward is going to be my crown.
C
Right.
A
And so, and so even like you just mentioned something so powerful. So powerful, deliverance does not guarantee destination.
C
Right.
A
A people comes out, but they don't go in. Come on, their children go in to the promise. And it's the same thing right now for the New Testament believer, like the Lord brings people into the kingdom, but then there must be a person, a perseverance.
B
That's right.
A
Of the saints, that we must persevere all the way to the end until we curse the finish line of eternity and stumble into the loving arms of our Savior. That's why we see people said, man, I. I tried. Yeah, Jesus, yeah. I used to.
C
Yeah, yeah.
A
Go to church. I no longer am a part of any organizing. And the perseverance is waning.
C
Right.
A
But how can we encourage people to persevere? Tim, listen, not only to come out, but to go all the way.
B
So an exodus without faith is just relocation. It's not transformation.
C
Yeah.
B
And so we have to anchor our faith in the hope of Jesus.
A
Yo, my man Tim Timberlake is a certified gem dropper.
D
Yo, my man said, I asked this. Without faith, it's just a real. It's just a relocation, man. You are certified gem dropper, man.
B
It's not transformation. So I think for us that are on this journey of faith, that that has been delivered, that has been bought out, that has been redeemed and sa by the grace of Jesus Christ. When we read this, Jude is telling us salvation is not a past event. It is a daily faith. It is a daily dying to self. It is a daily surrender that we have to continue to do on a daily basis. Picking up that cross daily, carrying it y. And if we, if we lay down the cross, we pick up too much culture and we see that happening today. And I. I think when we read this, this passage in Jude, he reminds us that although know there's certain people that have been delivered out of Egypt, Egypt has not been delivered out of them. And so they carry more about or they care more about where they come from than where they're headed.
A
One of the things that we see.
B
This happen is in politics or in race, when. When someone puts their politics before their belief or someone puts the color of their skin before their belief, we see this happen all the time.
A
There's an idolatry of skin, an idolatry of political parties. We like to conflate things with the kingdom.
B
Yep.
C
Right.
A
And. And so we have too much of the world in us and not enough of the kingdom.
B
Come on, bro.
A
I think that's very important. And. And even notice how he said, not even the angels who left their position, they're going to escape. We was talking about on our last episode how when it's all said and done, everybody's bill is going to be paid at the end. Nobody's going to escape.
C
Yeah.
A
And the Lord reminds us here through Jude's writings that the angels who left their domain, they suffered.
C
Right.
A
You think about that. There was a. There was a water scripture talk, a war that broke out in heaven, how Satan was cast out of heaven. He took a third of those angels with him, brought them down to the earth. I do believe, and I'm not going to argue with nobody about this, that those angelic beings that fell, those could be the demons that roam the earth today. But nevertheless, we see that there were. We know for a fact, biblically, there were angels in heaven who left with the enemy. That's one third of them. And the scripture says that. That those are going to be kept in chains for punishment. And so we see Jude is reminding us here, even through this text.
C
Right.
A
That there is a day of reckoning coming.
C
Right?
A
There is a day of reckoning coming. That's why we need to persevere. We need to be faithful. We need to warn, we need to proclaim truth. We need to believe for the salvation of those who are far away from God.
C
Right.
A
And we need to go all the way to the end until we have seen what God has had for us. Because we have to remember that there is a day of reckoning coming. Right.
C
Yeah.
A
And he even strengthens that argument when he gets to verse seven, when he says, just as Sodom and Gomorrah, I mean, we probably need to unpack that.
B
Absolutely.
A
Let's do it. Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulge in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desires, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
B
So let's let's touch on this because when we read this, we automatically assume that Sodom and Gomorrah were only judged for immorality. But we miss what the scripture says when it says they were also judged for pursuing desires outside of God's design facts. A desire outside of God's design always leads us into more immorality.
A
Yeah.
B
And so when we think about culture, society, what's happening right now in, in our world, even in quote unquote Christian circles that are being led by these unbridled, ungodly desires, what do you think is going to be the wake up call for us as the church, let's just say the global church, because I believe it's happening in other places, on other continents and other countries. When I think about even Africa, there's a whole group of people called prosperpreneurs, preachers that focus solely on prosperity off of the backs of those who can barely make it. And so I know this isn't just a westernized thing. It is more common in westernized church culture. It is more commercial in the westernized church. But globally, what do you think it is going to take for us to, to wake up and surrender those selfish and ungodly desires to see God do something significant? Purify the bride.
A
In the season before, before I mention what I think it's going to take to wake us up, I think that this problem is going to increase. I think it's going to intensify because when it talks, Jude here talks about the desires, I think the rise of social media is going to make this has made it worse and will continue. I think we live in an era of radical individualism and unbridled ambition.
C
Where.
A
People are so hungry for status and platforms and a lot of that is trying to heal some of the insecurities they have in their own soul. And because we have access into what everybody else is doing through the windows of social media, we have appetites for things that may not be God's will for us. And so we're seeing what other people have and it creates in us appetites for things that may not be God's will. And so everybody wants to be a king of a kingdom or a queen of a kingdom. Everybody wants to start a church, a ministry, whatever the case may be. And, and I think the rise of social media makes it easy because now people can create digital kingdoms for themselves and never be a part of community or whatever the case may be.
B
That's Phil.
A
I think that we're living in a culture that is so drunk with ambition and that this is going to continue.
C
Right.
A
But I think the wake up call is going to. Is going to be twofold. I think for some they will have a moment in time where through proclamation or they come to the end of themselves in which they will realize what they're pursuing will betray them, it will leave them empty and they will realize that what I really need is the Lord Jesus Christ and intimacy with him. And I think it's in a moment of extremity that there will be a wake up call. For many people it'll be in a season of difficulty, a moment of darkness where they will be waking up. And that is to the glory of God and the grace of God and the love of God whom to awaken them while they're still alive. And I want to believe that for people, right, that that will happen while they're breathing. But unfortunately, Tim, I do believe that others will get a wake up call, but they will get a wake up call when it's too late. I think that they will pass from this life and they will wake up on the other side and realize that they have been deceived and self deceived and they will be awakened. But in that day it'll be too late, you know, and there will be no more second chance, there will be no more repentance. And my prayer is that people would awaken right now while they have a chance, you know, and then remember that God is. You know, you talked about this in our last podcast how we only promote God as a God of love, Love, love, love, love. And he is. But when we outdo that, we forget that he's also a God of wrath and judgment. And there has to be a balance between the two. We see here that God destroyed two cities and the surrounding cities because of immorality and idolatry. Let's just be honest. Idolatry, immorality. And God destroyed those two cities. And for those who said, well, that's Old Testament. It says those cities and their ruins serve as an example to us now that God takes very seriously immorality and idolatry. He takes very seriously sin.
C
Yeah.
A
And though we will make mistakes and we will fall short, thought we want to encourage people not to be lovers of sin and not to enjoy iniquity. Come on, bro. You know those things come at a high cost. I know this personally. I've made mistakes. There's things that I regret. I just. There's no wins on that side.
C
Yeah, right.
A
And so one of the things I'M always praying over my children, my church, family, you, I, everybody I love that will come to really hate sin and hate iniquity and run from these things.
C
Right.
A
That we will not, we will not sin and sleep.
C
Yeah, Right.
A
And I've mentioned this before because there is a day of reckoning coming. And so I think we will be awakened either in this life or the next. I just pray it won't be when we die.
B
What? Was there ever a point for you? And you touched on this a little bit, but let's expound on it because I believe both of us have had moments in time in life and leadership where desire may have led that. And so one of the things that I had to learn is unbridled desires. If it's driving, it always leads to a destination of destruction.
A
Always. If you don't get off that path.
B
If you don't get off that path soon enough. What were some of those desires that God had to wring out of you?
A
Yeah, I used to be embarrassed to talk about this, but I think it's just part of my story now. I think most notable for me is leading ministry for almost a decade with vain desires in my heart. I'm not gonna lie. You know, I'll be honest. I remember leading my former church, it was called Victory, you know, and wanting platforms. You know, I wanted a big following on social media and you know, I wanted to be known and, you know, I wanted a certain budget to be able to do things and, and for all how I try to act like it wasn't in my heart. I think, I think it was there and I just wasn't paying attention to it. You know, I have a, a friend, a buddy, everybody knows him, Francis Chan, who. One of the things he was saying to me not that long ago was saying that one of the things we should be praying is for God to reveal to ourselves the areas of personal deceit. And he. He was encouraging me in that.
C
Right. And.
A
And I think I was self deceived and there was a lot of things I desired. I look back on it now, or very, very vain and very worldly, although I try to mask it behind the guise of being faithful. And I remember those things being wrung out of my heart. It took time, it took a few years for me to wring those things out of my heart, to really sit with these desires. Why do I want this? Where is this coming from? What insecurity is driving this? What. What lust is driving this? What unhealthy ambition is driving this? And I had to really take time to wring those things out of my heart and get those things out of my spirit. And so that when the Lord changes the ministry to 2019, by that time, I'm almost a dead man.
C
Yeah.
A
You know, just be completely transparent. By the time God changes the name of 2019, I'm a dead man. I've almost lost all will.
C
Yeah.
A
Of anything I desire. I. I remember when we changed, I put my head down and said, lord, I. I'm yours. You know, I will be faithful to what you tell me to preach and do. I will trust you with all the outcomes, you know? And by that time, I had no will. I had no desire for anything except faithfulness. And so it took about. To be honest, Tim, December 2018, when I went to Israel, it took about four years to really wring that stuff out of my heart.
C
Right. And.
A
And so I feel that even right now, I feel that I'm a dead man walking. H. And. And my only desire is to be faithful. And sometimes, like Max, you know, when I pray, I curl up next to God as. As a son. And I'll say to him. I'll say to him, say like, lord, I love you.
C
H.
A
I just want you to be proud of me. I just want you to be proud of me. I want you to look at my heart, my desires, my preaching, my ways. I want you to be able to say, like, I'm proud of this one right here.
C
Right.
A
And not. Not just tolerate me, but be proud of me.
C
You know what I mean? And.
A
That'S probably the most notable thing in my life. What about you, bro? You know, what about you? Was there a time in your past, your journey, your walk, when you felt like you were pursuing things, desires that were not right in the sight of God, and you had to really deal with them?
B
For years, my greatest desire was just to be accepted by all.
C
All.
A
Be accepted by all. Be loved by all.
B
Be loved by all.
C
Yeah.
B
And that led me down a leadership journey of wanting to be affirmed by people.
C
Yeah.
A
People, please it.
C
That's it.
A
And how many years was you stuck in that cycle, man?
B
Probably 14.
A
14 years.
B
14 years.
A
When. When did it break? How did it break?
B
It broke when the identity I built for myself broke through divorce, when I was no longer who I thought people wanted to see.
C
Wow.
B
And one of the things that I learned the hard way is if I live for the applause from people, I'll die from the lack of it. And I was empty. I was leading from a place where I was following Jesus. But I was also following people.
A
Was this when using North Carolina.
B
That's when I was in north.
A
Pastor in North Carolina.
B
And so a lot of it had to do with age. A lot of it had to do with leading from the shadows of my parents. A lot of it had to do with what I defined in as success and how I look at it differently. I think, you know, for those that are new on this journey, me, this is also one of the reasons we wear black every day. Yeah, every day. Every day is a funeral. Every day is. I said death to something. It is a reminder for. For me that we are dead. You know what I'm saying? And so wearing black all the time, it's, it's. It's hot, but it's a reminder you're dead.
A
It's a daily funeral.
B
Daily funeral, yeah. And so for me, I just. I had to. I had to die. I had to allow my identity to be anchored in Jesus.
A
How long was that process for you, though? Like, for me, I knew it was four. It was about four, four to five years. How many years was that for you?
B
It was probably three years. Three years of suffering.
A
Yeah.
B
Of feeling alone and abandoned. And my question wasn't, do I have people? Because people were around me. You know, my, my, My family was around me. My, My whole thought process was, although I have all these people, who has me, you know, and, and God stripped everything and everyone away from me except for him.
A
Let's. Can we, can we stay there for a second? There's somebody watching right now. Was in a dark place who feels like God has abandoned them. Maybe they've lost job, lost marriage, lost company, lost business. Feel like God is punishing them for you. You went through something similar like that, but God was stripping everything away for you. I, I didn't lose anything in my journey, but God was doing something on the inside. But for you, you lost a lot of things. Sis, speak to the person on the street team or the person you. Who's where you was. I think, I think we shouldn't, we shouldn't go past him. The person watching right now is somebody watching right now or somebody who's headed for this and don't know who. Feel like God has abandoned them. They're seeing things fall apart in their life. What would you say to this person?
B
Yeah, I would say the first thing. God has not abandoned you. And the season that you're in right now, as alone as you may feel, he is right there with you.
C
You.
B
His word says I'll never leave you, nor will I forsake you. I'll be with you until the very end of all time. One of the things that I had to learn in what I thought was loss. Sometimes winning doesn't feel like winning when you're actually winning. When Jesus was on the cross, I'm sure the disciples thought that they were losing. I'm sure Mary thought that she was losing. I'm sure that those that had followed Jesus, they thought that they were losing because he was now hanging and in their eyes, being crucified to death. But Jesus understood that although this may look like a loss, this is actually a win.
A
Come on.
B
And sometimes God will allow everything to be stripped away from you to allow you to see how he's giving you victory.
A
Come on.
B
So that you don't take credit for it. Anything that you have that separates you from time with God, God will, in fact, strip you of that thing so that you won't take credit for.
A
He puts his fingers on our idols.
B
I'm telling you, he will place his finger on our idols. And so I would say go through the process of pain. Grieve, even mourn, but don't stay there. Know that he is taking you through these things for a particular reason.
A
Come on.
B
That it is strengthening you.
A
Come on.
B
It is maturing you you. It is growing you.
A
Come on.
B
One of the things that we have to decipher and discern the difference between is change and growth. Change is inevitable, but growth is intentional. And in order for you to grow, there has to be some things that are stripped off for you. One of the greatest principles that I've learned in the last season of hardship and pain is all. Elevation requires some elimination. And if you're not willing to allow God to eliminate something from your life, you're not ready for God to elevate you in this season. Season.
A
That's good.
B
So go through the process. He is with you, and he is for you.
A
And on that note, Tim, why don't you take a moment as we land the plane on this episode? Because, like, we don't know who's on the other side of this camera, but I'm sure there are people on the other side of this camera who are hurting, who feel that far away from God. You just spoke directly to them. Right, but we don't want to just leave them there.
C
We.
A
We want to encourage them that they can be where you're sitting right now. They can get on the other side of what they're going through. And so. And so let's take a moment and let's pray for them.
B
Absolutely.
A
Let's believe God for them. Let's believe God for all of our street team and people watching who, you know, just in a difficult place right now when they walk. Absolutely. They're struggling with prayer. You talked about access. Maybe they're not reading the word. You know, maybe they've lost a significant loved one, a marriage to a business. They're just in a season where things are just tough right now. They feel like God, where are you in all of this?
C
Right.
A
Let's acknowledge and lean into some of that pain. At least I. I would like for us to do that. Just kind of acknowledge and lead into that pain. And I'm let you, you know, get these final words and. And let's just. Let's just pray over them.
B
Absolutely.
A
God. Believe God for them.
B
My, my go to when that there's a level of pain that removes your words.
C
Yeah.
A
What's your go to? Like? Mine is the Psalms.
B
Psalms 91, bro.
A
Man. Mine is the Psalms.
B
I just want to. I want to read this over those that are on that journey right now.
A
You gonna let me reminds too?
B
Absolutely. We got to.
A
Can I remind too?
B
Let's do you got Psalm 91? Let's do it.
A
I'm gonna remind you. Go ahead and read yours.
B
I want to just declare this over you. He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness is a shield and a buckler. And you will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, 10,000 at your right hand, but it will not come near you. And you need to hear me when I tell you that no matter what is happening around you, it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked, because you have made the Lord your dwelling place. The most high God, who is my refuge. No evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, let you strike your foot, lest you strike your foot against a Stone you will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. Because he holds fast to me in love and I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows My name. And when he calls to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him with honor and with long life. I will satisfy him and show him him my salvation.
A
And I got a lot of go tos.
C
Yeah.
A
And I love Psalm 91, like my mother used to teach me that when I was little. But here is one of my favorite ones. I'mma read this to to you. And then Tim and I are going to pray for you.
C
Yeah.
A
David wrote this in a time of trouble. Psalm 27. Let me just read this over you. The Lord is my light and my salvation.
B
Come on.
A
I like this. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
C
Read.
A
When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and my foes, it is they who stumble and fall. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. The war rise against me. Yet I will be confident. The war rise against you. Spiritual warfare, satanic warfare.
D
Though things seem to be be collapsing all around you. This one thing I will not fear. He said, I will be confident. There's one thing I've asked of the Lord. That will I seek after that I may dwell in the house of the Lord. I want to be in his presence.
C
Yeah. For how long?
D
All of the days of my life. To do what? To gaze upon the beauty of the Lord. Just to marvel over him and just to see his beauty and to feel his presence and to feel his warmth and his embrace. That even when you can't pray your way out of a circumstance, you can pray your way into peace.
B
Come on.
D
Even if he does not change the circumstance immediately, he could change you in the middle of the circumstance. We want to get in there to gaze upon his beauty. And to do what? And to inquire in his temple to get counsel. Yes, from the Lord. What should I do about filling the blank? For he will hide me me in the shelter in the day of trouble. He will conceal me under the COVID of his tent. He will lift me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above all of my enemies, all around me. And I will often, after he's done that for me, the sacrifices of shouts of joy. I will sing and make melody to the Lord even in my brokenness yes, we will sing and make melody to the Lord. We will not allow the enemy me.
A
To shut us up. Sometimes the best time to praise is when you hurt it absolutely.
D
Cuz it's hard to be depressed and.
A
Praised at the same time.
B
Come on, Phil.
D
Hear. Oh Lord, when I cry aloud.
A
This is a prayer of David.
D
Be gracious to me and answer me. You have said, seek my face and my heart says to you your face, Lord, I do seek. Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger.
C
Anger.
D
This is called honesty in prayer. Oh, you have been my help.
A
Cast me not or forsake me not, O God, of my salvation that is, Lord, don't let me go in the middle of what I'm going through. Yeah, I know I've messed up. I know I've fallen short. I know I've drifted. But don't let me go in the midst of what you'll keep your hand upon me me. For when my mother and my father has forsaken me. When men fall short and disappoint me. But the Lord will take me in. And then he. He lands the plane. He says, teach me your ways, O Lord. That's a prayer.
B
Amen.
D
And lead me on a level path.
A
Because of your enemies. Give me not up to the will of my adversaries. For false witnesses have risen against me. I live this every day, so do you. Yeah, false witnesses always got something to say. Absolutely. On social media against us and they breathe out violence. I like these last two verses. I believe that I shall look.
B
Come on.
A
Upon the goodness of the Lord. We are not just in the sweet buying bind. No, not just in eternity.
D
In the land of the living. We will see the goodness of the Lord. And then look what he says to you. Wait for the Lord. Wait in this Hebrew text does not mean do nothing. Yes, the word wait here in Hebrew means have an expectation of. Come on, be busy in faith, busy in believing, busy in expectation. Wait for the Lord. Watch the admonition, be strong, watch the admonition. And let your heart take courage.
C
Yeah.
D
Wait I say, just wait.
A
Have an expectation on the Lord prayer Sultan.
B
Lord Jesus, we just thank you for every. Every person you're worthy. Jesus that is listening, that is watching, that is on this journey. God, we just thank you that your presence is right where they are.
D
Hallelujah.
B
They are not too far out of reach, God, for your spirit to capture them, draw them back into the heart of the Father right now. In the name of Jesus, we. We thank you God, that what you are doing in this moment, for those that are watching and listening, is significant and supernatural. So right now, in the name of Jesus, as you drew the children of Israel out of Egypt, God, draw out of us sin, draw out of us comfort, draw out of us convenience, draw out of us everything that is not like you, God. And instill in us a godly conviction that will not let us settle into the things that we want, but lead us into the path of righteousness. Not for our name's sake, but for your name's sake and God, we ask that we won't settle in what you did, but we will journey with you and what you're doing right here, right now.
A
Journey.
B
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
C
Amen.

Hosts: Phillip Anthony Mitchell & Tim Timberlake
Date: September 16, 2025
This episode of Street Preachers centers on the theme of spiritual perseverance, authentic faith, and the necessity of remembering foundational truths in the Christian walk. Using the book of Jude as a launching pad, Philip Anthony Mitchell and Tim Timberlake challenge listeners—affectionately dubbed the "Street Team"—to maintain a vital, prayerful relationship with God, avoid spiritual apathy, and beware of distractions and false teachings. The tone is raw, relatable, and passionate, blending scripture with real talk about leadership, struggle, temptation, and overcoming adversity.
"Don’t shy away from God’s presence in your own personal time. You don’t have to be in a certain place at a certain time in a certain posture. God will meet you in the shower, at your kitchen table, as you’re driving." (12:59, Mitchell)
“I saw something special happen for my son…He was on his knees in the back of the room, and the Lord met him there and transformed his life.” (07:17, Mitchell)
“Even in my distraction, God receives my prayer.” (09:14, Timberlake) “I’ve even fallen asleep in God’s presence… and just felt that peace.” (12:06, Mitchell)
“You should tailor your prayers for your own personal wiring. For one person, they’ll connect with God in nature…another person in a dark room…for another, it’s a walk.” (13:16, Mitchell)
“A woman who had been battling an ailment for 15 years…came down into the water…and was supernaturally healed.” (16:09, Mitchell)
“We are believing God for everyone that comes that evening to experience an undeniable encounter with the Messiah.” (17:56, Timberlake)
“Wherever you are and you're part of the street team, help us spread the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.” (20:25, Timberlake) “For our podcast, it’s going to be like scriptures meets the culture…we’re gonna open this book, break this bread with the oil on it.” (21:23, Mitchell)
“Deliverance does not guarantee destiny… Israel was saved out of Egypt… but many never saw the promised land.” (25:09, Timberlake)
“Notice how Jude, the biological brother of Jesus, mentions Jesus as the one that led the children of Israel out of Egypt… that is very powerful.” (22:49, Mitchell)
“Jesus is not a created being…He has always existed.” (24:15, Mitchell)
