And so today on the Street Preachers Podcast, I'm your host, Tim Timberlake, your.
A
Boy, Philip Anthony Mitchell.
B
And man, do we got another episode for you today. And let's just do a quick little recap. Yeah, last. Last week's episode, we got into it.
A
And we could do a quick recap. So, you know, just shout out to everybody that's been on this journey with us. And also, yo, shout out my man, Preston Perry. I was rocking one of his bowl apparels on our last episode. So I know some people was like, yo, that shirt was dope, whatever the case may be, that was bold apparel. My man, Preston Perry. Shout out my brother, man. Love that dude. And so if you, if you're new to the Street Team, that's what Tim has affectionately coined. Everybody who's on this journey with us, you know, just coined that in the middle of the episode, the Street Team. You know, Tim and I are on his journey to try to spread the gospel through this platform, through this podcast, outside of our Sunday morning proclamation. And we kind of gone down this road of just dealing with the times we're living in right now and felt like there was a small letter tucked away in the back of the Bible that we felt really addressed the times that we're in right now. And it was the letter of Jude, who was the biological brother of Jesus. And he's writing during a time when the church is really being threatened and infiltrated by false teachings and false prophets. We feel the same thing is happening right now in America as we're talking to you right now. We feel like Christianity is being threatened by false teaching, false prophets, false narratives, secular humanistic doctrines, New age philosophy. And this is a deep concern for Tim and I because we have been outside the country. We have traveled. I've shared with a lot of you my experience about going to Turkey. And I was even sharing with a brother who's on this particular trip with us, reminding him that when Jesus gives the revelation to John and what we call the Book of Revelation.
B
Yeah.
A
He addresses seven churches.
B
Yeah.
A
And of those seven churches, five of them, he rebukes five of those churches. And the patterns that we see in those rebuke, from the abandonment of their first love, tolerating immorality, embracing false doctrine, being lukewarm and all these other things, having a reputation for being alive, but being dead on the inside. We see these same patterns. They are cyclical. And the reason we're kind of walking through the letter of Jude, because we're trying to sound an alarm, Tim and I, right now, not only from our Sunday morning platforms, but from our Street Preachers podcast, we record in New York City. That's. So if you're hearing sirens and stuff like that, you know, we can't control that. We like it up here. And. But the thing that concerns us is that the place where Jesus sent these letters, those seven churches, I've been there.
B
Right.
A
And those cities lay in ruins. But the cities are not the only thing that lay in ruins. The influence of Christianity also lay in ruins. And I think a lot of people forget that modern day Turkey was ancient Asia Minor. It was once a home base for the operation of Paul's ministry. It was once a global hub for Christianity, and it was also the seat of the Eastern Orthodox Church. And a lot of people may not be familiar with that. And so. But when you travel there now, there's almost no trace of Christianity. And that same pattern kind of spread west. He and I have both been through Europe, and if you go into England and London and some of these cities inside of England, you will see that Christianity, the influence of Christianity, is waning. And there is a rise of another monotheism that is dominating. I believe some of this is biblical in terms of prophecy. I do think that we're living in the last days. I do think that God is allowing this. But. But as he's allowing this, it should cause the church of Jesus Christ to be awakened. Like, one of the things Tim and I talk about all the time is that we really want you guys, our street team, to be like the sons of Issachar who rightly discerned the times and yah knew what to do about it.
B
Right.
A
And so we want to be people who is awakening this hour. We are. We are paying attention to what's happening in society. And we feel that the Church of Jesus Christ is under attack not solely by the enemy, but also being infiltrated from the inside.
B
Yeah.
A
By the rise of false prophets and false teachings. And just like I know y' all can hear that, right? Like, they can hear that, Right. They're gonna pick that up in the camera a little bit.
B
Right.
A
There's no. There's a whole ambulance going by right now in the studio. Just like that alarm right now was going off outside the window behind me. Like, we need an alarm to go off right now in the nation. We need an alarm to go off right now in the body of Christ. Like, if we just continue to play church and.
B
Yeah.
A
Play conference and listen to podcasts like this, and it don't change us. It don't awaken us. It don't set us on fire, man. God help the next generation that we supposed to hand this baton off to. So just like, this alarm is going off behind me. Like, that's what we're trying to do right now. We're trying to sound an alarm.
B
Yeah.
A
We're trying to see as many believers as possible just awaken to what's happening right now in society. And in our last episode, it got kind of dicey, you know, and, you know, and my brother Tim has been through a very difficult, difficult season. Two years of persecution, lawsuits, trials, and tribulations. We kind of. He had an opportunity for the first time in two years to legally address that. Right. And I don't want people to think we use the platform for drama. If you think that, you know, we apologize. Right. That's not. That's not our heart yet. Right. I don't want people to think we're trying to use the platform to toy around with drama, but we do want to use the platform for Tim to be able to speak freely and be able to have an opportunity to insert his voice into the narrative. We felt like it was connected to verse eight of Jude. We talked about people who are under authority and not under authority, and. And. And that's where we are right now. We're just trying to catch you up with where we are on the podcast. And we. We're trying to have conversations where scripture meets culture.
B
Yeah.
A
And.
B
And.
A
And we're trying to do every Can. Everything we can to awaken as many people as possible. And so, you know, how do you feel having gotten all of that off your chest? I mean, we're not going to go back to it, but. But it's been a week since that episode dropped. You know, some people gonna have their opinions either way. And that was in response to some of the comments we saw, you know, what Tim Timberlake did or whatever the case may be. But, you know, a week now, past that episode, how are you feeling?
B
I feel thankful for you.
A
For me?
B
I feel thankful for you to voice your commitment to my character and your covenant with me through crisis. I can't tell you how much that means to me because you know me, you know my wife, you know my son, you know the church that we're stewarding, and these people don't. Yeah. And so my greatest desire is not to be loved by people that don't know me. My greatest desire is to be loved by the people that are closest to me and that they would love me the most. So for you to vocalize your support, you standing beside me, I, I, I can't thank you enough.
A
Absolutely, bro.
B
So I feel very grateful.
A
Absolutely.
B
I feel very blessed to call you my covenant brother. Absolutely. My best friend.
A
Absolutely.
B
My dog.
A
You would do the same for me.
B
Absolutely. So every, Everybody need somebody that is your hitter. Thank you for being my hitter.
A
Yeah, I appreciate that. We should talk about that too, for a second. Everybody needs somebody that would ride with them.
B
Absolutely.
A
You know, and stand with them. I mean, like, like what Jay Jonathan did for David.
B
Absolutely.
A
You know, and I think it's important for us to encourage people watching that they should take inventory of their circle.
B
Right.
A
And do you have people in your life that love you enough to stand with you through fire, you know, and through difficulty and pain? There is a passage in the scripture that warns about falling into trouble and not having anyone there to pick you up.
B
That's right.
A
I think it's important for us to take inventory of the people we keep in our lives. And if you have somebody that like that in your life, you know, like, like Tim and I are there for each other. Don't take that person for granted.
B
Right.
A
If it's a spouse, you know, if it's a best friend, you know, a accountability partner, whatever the case may be. I want to encourage some of you to don't take for granted the people that God has placed in your life that help shoulder heavy burdens with you. I'm in my 40s. How old are you, Tim? Were you in the 40s? Right. I don't want to put my age out there. Yes. You know, I just. Whatever.
B
You're a young man.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're in our 40s.
B
Right.
A
And I've made a lot of Mistakes when it comes to relationships. I ruined a lot of relationships. I have a lot of regrets from relationships. I wish I still had seasons of immaturity. And I think about how many relationships could have been salvaged with just a conversation with the practice of Matthew 18. Go to your brother.
B
Yeah.
A
And I've made a lot of mistakes, and I. And I regret them, and I own them. But the older. The older I've gotten, the more I've come to value covenant relationships. I think in life, we put a great amount of value on things we can touch. Money, homes, cars, businesses, bank accounts. But I think probably some of the greatest blessings God has given us are things that are almost intangible. Opportunities, health, relationships. I think some of the time. I think these are among our greatest commodities. I want to repeat that list for somebody watching. I personally believe amongst our greatest commodities in this life, Health, time, opportunities, relationships. I think some of the greatest things God does in our life comes into our life on two legs. Some of the greatest blessings that come into our life come into our life on two legs.
B
Yeah.
A
Some of God's best work he will do in our lives happens because of covenant relationships. God brings two legs into your life. And through that person, God uses that person as a conduit to bring blessings into your life. Comfort, affirmation, healing, hope, strength, guidance, accountability. Right, Accountability. And so I think we should not take those things for granted. And so just even you acknowledging that, I appreciate that.
B
Right.
A
I definitely don't take our relationship for granted. Some of the doors you've opened for me, right? I mean, you the one that got us in the studio in New York, in my city, my home city. I mean, like, you could have took this to North Carolina, right? To your home city where you was raised and where I was raised right here, you know, in New York. So even you, you know, open the door for us to be in this studio, you know, and these good brothers and sisters around us, that's, you know, some of our recording team who I'm growing to love and appreciate, you know, we should just. If you got people like that in your life, I just want to encourage you. I'll plead with you to never take them for granted. Don't just throw relationships away so flippantly. Fight for the covenant relationships, you know, that God has placed in your life. Know that when you have a correlation, there's times when they can be tested, they can be attacked, they can be threatened. But you got to know when they're worth fighting for.
B
Right.
A
And not just throwing them away. It is true that the. The source of our greatest pain is also the source of our greatest joy. Relationships. The streams that bring the most pain is the same streams that bring the most joy. Relationships. But when you have relationships like this, covenant relationships, man, steward them well, protect them.
B
Yeah.
A
Invest in them, pray for them. Thank God for them. Listen to them, use them, Lean on them. You know, man, that. That sun is coming in on my back, beaming. You know what I mean? Or I should say, that's the Lord's kiss from heaven, the confirmation of the. My son, who I'm well pleased. You know, they're like, I feel the glory of the Lord coming down on me right now. You know, I'm so dark. I should probably face that one sun could hit me in my face, you know, Am I good? Am I good where I'm at? Yeah, sure. I'm good with the sunlight coming through. We're recording in the afternoon today, and. But, But. But, yeah, I just want to. I just want to say, man, not only I appreciate that, but. But I think there's a beauty in covenant relationships, and I think we should not take them from granted. And I was encouraging people on our street team not to take those relations for granted. Pray for them. If you don't have them, ask God for them. I think we should. Can we talk about relationships for just a moment?
B
Absolutely.
A
Can we just. I feel the spirit of God.
B
Can we? Absolutely. Y.
A
I think everybody should have relationships in all directions of the cross. We should have relationships that go upward.
B
Yeah.
A
We should have relationships that are lateral. We should have relationships that go downward. And I think when you have relationships in all direction of the cross, it helps you to grow fast as a person. So I do believe it is a blessing that we should have relationships that go upward. These are mentors.
B
Yeah.
A
Coaches, people who can correct teachers, pastors, leaders. We should have upward relationships. People that can pour into us.
B
Yeah.
A
And people that we can take our emotions and our feelings and run it through them as an external filter.
B
Absolutely.
A
Because I think, like, God gave us emotions. Emotions in and of themselves are not evil, but they are gauges.
B
Yeah.
A
And we got to be careful about them always being guides.
B
Right.
A
And I think if we have upward relationships and lava relationships, we can take what we're feeling and run it through the filter of people who are wiser than us. You know, I do believe that the blessing of mentorship is the speed of progress without the pain of experience.
B
Come on, man. Say that again.
A
I think the blessing of mentorship is the speed of progress without the pain of experience. That's good that if you learn from a mentor, if. If I can teach somebody in 20 minutes what it took me 20 years to learn, then that person could go much further, faster. You can avoid some of the pitfalls that I made. Right. So it helps you to go further, faster without going through what I went through. I think only a fool goes through everything by experience.
B
Come on, man.
A
Only a fool. Fool learns everything by experience. But a person who's wise will learn from the successes and failures of others. That's the beauty of Proverbs.
B
Right?
A
So I think we should have those upward relationships, and I think we need lateral relationship. What you and I got.
B
Right.
A
Like covenant brothers and sisters, who's going to keep us accountable?
B
Yeah.
A
Is going to step into our pain with us.
B
Right.
A
It's going to be shoulders for us when we're going through listening ears. It's not afraid to tell us the truth, brother. I think you missed it. You can do that different and can come to us and be honest and be a safe place. I can tell you things and not feel ashamed.
B
That's right.
A
I could say, tim, bro, you and I do this, you know, when I call you like, tim, this is what I'm dealing with this week. Like, we can talk and not feel ashamed. Not feel that you're going to judge me if I tell you I had a bad week this week or I'll botch this in the pulpit, or I could have did better in the staff meeting and not feel. Feel that condemnation.
B
That's right.
A
But that you're going to lean in with ears and then you're going to say, well, bro, this is. This is how I see this. And we can pivot, and we do that for each other. So I think we got to have those lateral. Like, this is about to be a relationship episode.
B
I love it. Okay.
A
So I know we. It's Spirit of God's podcast. We're just going to do what the Spirit of God wants to do. But then we got to have those downward relationships. And. And this is people we're pouring into. They keep us accountable, too. I think sometimes when people think accountability. Because we was talking about this in the last episode with you.
B
Yeah.
A
When we think account, we only think people above is going to watch us.
B
That's right.
A
I. I've learned that having downward relationships creates accountability, too. If there are people who are watching you.
B
Right.
A
They're watching you. You almost have that external pressure to not hurt them.
B
Right.
A
With bad behavior and bad character, that's so true. Like, one of the greatest things out, bro. Like, let's keep it a 100.
B
Right.
A
Like, I was a real knucklehead, really lost in these streets.
B
Yeah. Right.
A
And even coming into the kingdom, I was still had a lot of knuckleheadness in me.
B
Yeah. Right.
A
And one of the things that have helped me more than anything is, Is leading a church. Like, I think there are people in the studio right now who are part of myself.
B
Absolutely.
A
You see two staffers over there. I think about what they think about me.
B
Right.
A
Like, if I. If I drop the bag right now. If I fumble the bag right now, they're gonna feel. So I'm gonna hurt them.
B
100.
A
I'm going to hurt the. The 6,000 plus people that attend 2019 and the hundreds of thousands of digital disciples around the country. I'm going to hurt them badly. There's something about knowing that I. I could be anywhere in the street. I could be in a restaurant, I could be in a chat. I could be anywhere, knowing if I govern myself wrong, I might hurt somebody who's.
B
Who's watching me, I'm telling you.
A
And something about having those downward relationships creates another level of accountability. So it's like you want to live above reproach. So I think there is a blessing in having relationships that flow in all directions of the cross. Upward, lateral, and downward. Taking what we've learned and pouring that into people beneath us, but also feeding from that accountability from down there and this accountability from up here and this accountability from right here. I mean, all of that was June. Where we at, bro, was on June 8th. Without authority.
B
Yeah.
A
And no accountability. And I think that's important. So I. I know. I mean, this is about to become a relationship episode. But. But I mean, do you agree what I'm saying? Like, in terms of relationships in all directions of the cross?
B
I think so.
A
You and I never talked about this before.
B
No, we. We never.
A
Tell. Tell me your thoughts about what I'm saying.
B
I. I think the revelation that you hold on people, that you pour into holding you accountable is powerful in that we don't consider how many people we influence. Yeah. You know, and so it's. It's unique in that, statistically speaking, they say you influence seven people without even talking to them.
A
Okay.
B
And if you are reckless, you won't think about the people that you influence.
A
Say that part again.
B
If you're reckless, you won't think about the people that you influence. Influence.
A
You're reckless.
B
You're reckless.
A
You will not think about the people you influence. If you do what you want to do, that's it. And not care how your behavior affects.
B
Other people, there's a consequence that is sewn into the people's lives that you influence. And so when you think about, like I think about our kids. Yeah, right. Our kids receive our love, they give our love, but there's a consequence to our actions that. That they will feel if we are reckless. I think about my son's face, I think about my wife's face. Whenever I feel selfish ambition, whenever I feel pride, whenever I feel ego, whenever I feel those things rising up in me, I think about their faces. And it positions me into a place where I am now held accountable by them.
A
And, you know, there's a lot of people listening to what you're saying right now, Tim, who are the victims of people, parents and other leaders who did not care enough about them to say, if I do this, if I make this, it's going to affect this person. And we have a lot of broken adults because of parents who were selfish and leaders who were selfish who did not care how their actions affected the people beneath them.
B
And so you said something. When God wants to bless you, he normally blesses you by sending someone on two feet.
A
Oftentimes, that's my own personal experience. So that's my anecdotal data. I think majority of the things God has done in my life, he's done by bringing certain people into my life.
B
100%. You said something powerful, though. There are people listening right now that are dealing with the fruit and the consequences of other people's actions. So I truly believe when God wants to bless you, he sends you people. Yeah. When the enemy wants to curse you, he sends you people.
A
Say that again.
B
When God wants to bless you, he sends you people. When the enemy wants to curse you.
A
He sends you people.
B
And the difference is the. Those that recognize what damage they could do, out of control, operating in pride, operating from a place of selfish ambition or selfishness, just in general. And so when I think about relationships, every single season that God has ushered me into has been because of a relationship.
A
You and I, both relationships have transitioned my seasons.
B
All of it telling you. And so, you know, when people see us and we read the comments and people like, man, I wish I had a friend like you have Phil, and Phil has Tim. And I would say to those that are watching and that are listening right now, true relationship is not forged out of what the other person can do for you. True relationship is forged out of what sacrifices Are you willing to make, to make sure that person is going to good? The majority of me and your conversations are not about church and not.
A
People don't know that, though.
B
Like, like, I, I, I talk very.
A
Little just about church. We really talk about life, Life, each.
B
Other and each other. Yeah, bro, how are you?
A
Yeah.
B
What you doing? What's going on?
A
Text Big bro.
B
Big bro, how you doing? How you doing? You know what I'm saying? And, and I think you find somebody like that, God brings somebody into your life like that, you, you protect that, you guard that. You're not impressed by what I do. Yeah, I love that. I'm not impressed by what you do. I'm impressed by you. Right? Yeah. Because I see the way you live off of the stage, off of the podium, off of the platform. I see the way you steward your bride. I see the way you steward your kids. I see the way you steward your staff. I see the way you steward God's people. That impresses me. Your approach to scripture, it is phenomenal. It is sound. But what impresses me more about you is the life that you live. That's what grafted us together. Yeah.
A
I appreciate that.
B
When I talk to people about Philip Anthony Mitchell, when I talk to my family about Philip Anthony Mitchell, I'm not talking about your preaching, although it's phenomenal. I'm talking about you as the man of God, that you are the husband of God, that you are, the father that you are. And so that, that is what I pray. Our street team is praying that God would connect them with people that aren't impressed with you. Yeah. For what you do. Yeah.
A
And, and I think they got to be sensitive to those gifts come into their life.
B
Right.
A
For our street team, I think for our street team, I want them to be mindful about the people that God is bringing into their lives. And you said something so powerful, you talk about, you know, when God wants to bless, you'll bring someone to your life. When the devil wants to curse or destroy, he'll bring something into your life. We see the same, the same dichotomy also, too, just when it comes to scriptures. Like, even though you and I kind of working through Jew together on the pod, which deals with a lot of false prophets, we're dealing with that right now, and we're talking about the danger to the American church. I think sometimes people forget that Jesus said it is written and the devil says it is written, but we need to discern the difference.
B
Yes, Right.
A
It's like if you read, if you Read Matthew's account. When Jesus is being tested in the wilderness, I think people forget this detail in the text. The devil quotes the Psalms.
B
Yes, to Jesus. Absolutely.
A
It's not like he's accurately quoting a psalm.
B
Yes, to Jesus.
A
Throw yourself off this cliff.
B
Right.
A
Throw yourself off this cliff. But he will give your angels charged over you. That's right. Dash your foot against the stone shown. Yeah, he's quoting the Psalms.
B
Right.
A
So the devil says. For it is written. Yeah, but Jesus also says it is written.
B
Yeah, And.
A
But we got to discern the difference.
B
Right?
A
And so, man, hold on.
B
Right?
A
Like, that's very important, right? The devil said it is written, Tim. And Jesus said it is written.
B
Yeah.
A
And that's why when we're hearing messages and listening to podcasts.
B
Come on, bro.
A
And going to conferences, we got to know, is the devil talking or is Jesus talking?
B
Come on. Right.
A
Because both of them have said it is written. Both of them quote scriptures.
B
Yes. Right.
A
So is. Is the devil talking or is Jesus talking? Is this the Holy Spirit, or is this a demonic spirit?
B
Right.
A
And if we don't have no word in us, Right. How would we discern the difference? Right. If we're not sent to the Spirit, how we discern the difference? It's the same thing with relationships. Got to discern. Some people have come into our life and they were sent by the enemy. And some people come down, they're sent by God, and we got to discern the difference. And that's why I want to say something to our street team, especially those who are in their teenage years, twenties the most. You should be learning this by your thirties. Let's just say the most formidable years. That's where I'm going with this. Teenage years and twenties look right at me.
B
Right?
A
Teenage years and twenties, Right? You got to know that if you have voices in your life that are leading you away from God, away from community, away from authority, away from accountability. If you're listening to voices that enjoy dissension.
B
Come on.
A
Enjoy division, enjoy gossip. They so seeds of discord. You got to be mindful of, did God send that voice or did the devil send that voice? Or is the devil using that voice to lure your way? And we don't think about that. So we'll choose poor community over biblical authority.
B
Come on.
A
And be led astray by one person that got in your ear. This happens all the time. You let one person get in your ear, they use that little finger to get in there deep. They sow all the seeds of discourse and lies and Then you look up. Now, you isolated from the church, you isolated from God. You isolated from community. You're led astray. You abandoned authority. You abandoned a place that God placed you. Yo, this is what Jude was saying even in this last text, when he talked about the angels that fled.
B
Let me.
A
Let me. Let me tell you something. When Jude talked about the angels that fled their position, and he says, man, they're going to be kept for judgment in the end. I just want to remind y', all, man, angels left heaven because of the devil's voice.
B
Yes.
A
Come on, man.
B
Yeah, right.
A
Like a third of the angels in heaven abandoned God because of the devil's voice, because of the devil's voice, because of their. His much traded. He. You know how this go? Like, he got in one angel's air. Like, I'm going to be better than God. Rock with me. And he gets in another angel's ear. He said, yo, I'm going to be better than God. Rock with me. And he gets in another angel's ear. I'm going to be better God than rock with me. I'm getting. I'm going to be better than God. Rock with me. I'm going to be better than God. Rock me. I'm going to be strong. And he might have been doing that for a period of time. And then we see in Isaiah 14, the five eye wills, I will be like God. I will exalt myself above God, put myself above the mouth of God. I will be like the most High. By the time that pride gets in him, he's already corrupted one third of the angels in heaven. So now when he is booted out, man, they are booed out. They, according to Jude, they abandon their place, if that's what we're talking about. They abandon their place.
B
Right.
A
They're not going to go back there. You think about how many people lose good opportunities, good staff positions, good jobs, good relationships, good open doors. Because you have the wrong relationships, the wrong voices in your life, and the ones who there for you don't even honor. You understand what I'm saying? So I just love how you talked about when God wants to bless you, he'll send two legs.
B
Yeah, I believe that. Yeah.
A
But when the devil want to get at you, he'll send two legs. So we got to know the difference between it is written.
B
Yeah.
A
And it is written.
B
Absolutely. You feel what I'm saying? One of the things also for our family, don't waste time on arguing with the fool.
A
Come on. The scripture teaches not to do that.
B
Only A fool argues with a fool.
A
It says, don't argue with a fool.
B
Right. And so when we. When we approach these people and we have to do inventory on these relationships, because we do have to do inventory on these relationships, what is the purpose? Is this God ordained or is this enemy sentence?
A
Yeah.
B
If ever we discover that this relationship is sent by the enemy to deplete us from God's purpose of our life, don't argue. Yeah, don't even worry about cutting them off. One of the things that I learned that was so powerful, bro, I asked God, cut this relationship off. God said, you don't have to cut it off. Just grow. They'll fall off. You just continue to grow.
A
It will fall off.
B
They will fall off. And so stop being distracted. Stop wasting our time trying to cut this person off and trying to end this.
A
Stop.
B
Just continue to grow. They will fall off.
A
They will fall off. That's so powerful.
B
And.
A
And then. And then, Tim, we all going to tackle one verse here.
B
Yeah, yeah, we, we, we. On verse number nine, when the angel Michael.
A
And I think this is. I want everybody to listen to this very carefully because there's a powerful revelation in this text. But when the. A archangel Michael contended with the devil, man, this is about. This is so. Listen to me. This is so powerful. I want to just jump through this camera and just sit in your living room and teach this to you. Listen. Listen to what he says. He says. But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment against the devil, but submitted to authority. He said, the Lord rebuke you again. Talk about. So here's an arc. Well, let's. Let's just back up. I'm gonna let you address the archangel. Boy, let me just back up. Right here is the archangel Michael, right? Who is in scriptures known as a warring angel who leads armies. He's contending with the devil over the body of Moses. Why is this archangel fighting with the devil over the body of Moses? Now, anything we posit here is theory, right? Because. Because it does not give us a clear description. So anything we posit is theory. However, I do want to posit. Yeah, one theory.
B
Come on, Teach, bro.
A
I do want to posit the theory that there is a fight for Moses's body, right? Because the devil knows that Moses was a murderer.
B
Yeah.
A
He took a life. And if he could contend for this body. Watch. He could discredit the ministry of Moses because Because he is the accuser of the brother of the brother, Teach. And this is what the devil does to you and I. Over and over and over. He will do anything he can to discredit your witness.
B
Yeah.
A
To pummel you when you make mistakes. To beat you down to the floor when you're fallen. That's why there's so many of you watching right now. You're still stuck in a season that is behind you.
B
Yeah.
A
You're still condemning yourself for something you did five years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago. You still are hearing the devil saying you're not worthy. You shouldn't be in that seat. You shouldn't have that position, constantly reminding you of the things that you have done. Because he is an accuser of the brethren. Here he is contending for the body of Moses. I'm going to take Moses body. He ain't. His body shouldn't even be with you. Lord. Do you know what this man did? This man killed one of your own children. And here is the devil coming to contend for the body of Moses. And then I like what Michael the Archangel does.
B
Look at what he does.
A
What does he do, Tim?
B
It says contending with the devil was disputing about the body of Moses. He did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment. But said the Lord rebuke you.
A
He did not do what?
B
He did not pronounce a blasphemous judgment. This is a warning for us.
A
Come on.
B
This is a warning for us as the children of God, as the body of Christ. I. I want us to listen and lean into this warning. If Michael and Archangel did not freelance spiritual warfare, neither should we.
A
Say it again.
B
If Michael did not freelance spiritual warfare, neither should we.
A
Now, hold on, bro.
B
We.
A
We. We didn't talk about this before we got on air. Hey, so you said freelance spiritual warfare. You gotta. You gotta unpack. You can't just say that and don't.
B
Explain that he did not come in the name of Michael.
A
He did not come in his own author.
B
He did not come.
A
So even this archangel who stands in the presence of God, stands in the prison, did not think that he can operate in his own authority, wars on.
B
Behalf of God, but only moves in the authority of God.
A
Now, now give us. Give us. Let's be straightforward. Give us the rebuke we need and the warning we need about operating outside of biblical authority.
B
Yeah, we. We do it all the time. We make decisions, and then we expect God to bless the decisions.
A
Come on. Stop right there.
B
Bro. And so we want God to.
A
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, bro. This is.
B
This is happening in real time.
A
You can't just talk like that to me anymore. My ninja. Hold on, bro. Slow down. You got to come with the. That again.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we make decisions.
A
No, no, no. You said we can't just expect to do what we want and just demand God to bless us.
B
Right.
A
Especially when we operate outside of his will, outside of biblical authority. We.
B
We operate in our own speed. Yes. We manufacture our own blessings. Yes. We move in our own time, and we expect God to bless that.
A
Bro, that's. That's this generation.
B
That is it.
A
That is it. All right, so look, hold on. Let's make this positive.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. I believe that's a crutch in this generation. What is the. What is the admonition to the generation? How do we encourage them to not function that way? Because. Because, like, that is a cancer in this generation. It is alive and active. It is everywhere. It is pervasive. This moment can feel negative. But. But how do we. How do we spin this? How do we speak life to the person who is operating in the flesh and expecting God to bless everything that they do? They're not under authority. They're not connected to any local gathering. There's nobody that can tell them what to do. They want to build everything on their own. And, you know, and. And they're out there just running. They're going after everything, not knowing the bill is coming at the end.
B
Yeah. Right.
A
How do we encourage that person to not. Not govern themselves that way?
B
I think we look at the two that are at war against each other. Yeah. Both were angels at one point. Both were given assignments by God.
A
Yeah.
B
One carried it out and is still carrying it out today. Yeah. But the hope and the good news of this is, if Michael needed the Lord's name to win, what makes us think that we will win? Aside from the name of the Lord? Yeah. And so if we are pilgrims traveling through, we're. We're not residents of this world. We are visiting this world. I like to say it like this. I work here. I live there.
A
Yes. We are citizens. The scripture teaches that we have dual citizenship.
B
That's right. So we're citizens there. The good news is this. If we repeat what God says, we win.
A
Yeah.
B
If we don't, we lose. If we lose every single time.
A
Correct. And God's ultimate authority for all of us to your team, hear me, is not Philip Anthony Mitchell sermons.
B
Come on.
A
Or Timberlake sermons. Or fill in your favorite preacher, prophet, apostle, evangelist, whatever title you want to use. Sermons. God's ultimate authority. It's right here.
B
That's it, man.
A
Like, this is God's ultimate authority, right? This bread with the oil on it. This. This word from Genesis to Revelation, this. Watch this word closed.
B
Come on, Canon, come on.
A
That no one cannot add to it, cannot take away from it. This is God's finished word. There's no prophet coming to add to it. There's no apostle coming to add to it, right? This is. This is his authority. And if we would have authority, we would have authority based on the word of God. We have no real authority outside of the word of God.
B
Our opinions have no power over hell.
A
We have no authority outside of the word of God. And I love what Tim is really unpacking for us right here. Like an archangel did not feel that he had the liberty to operate outside of the authority of God. How much more should we feel like we don't have the liberty outbreak outside the authority of God? And if you really want to know where your boundaries are, it's right here. You know, God has given us all of Genesis to Revelation to teach us what our promises are, what our authority is. I mean, he's. I mean, this is your sword, man. It is, you know, and. And this is our ultimate authority. And I think, you know, the more you get this in you, the more you know how to walk into a room, take authority over demonic issues, lay hands on your children, pray for your family, preach with authority, pray with authority, live with authority, walk into a room with authority, declare with authority, rebuke with authority in the name of God's word.
B
Telling you, right?
A
And I just think that's so powerful how Michael governed himself under the authority. He didn't just. He didn't just. He said, satan, the Lord.
B
The Lord rebukes you, rebuke you.
A
And I think there's even something else there. There's another revelation in the TE text before. Before we just move on from this. He says, satan, the Lord rebuke him, right? And so it's just a reminder for us. We really don't have this power. We think, against the devil. Apart from God, apart from the Holy Spirit, apart from the word of God, we really are no match for the devil. Apart from God.
B
That's right, bro.
A
Apart from the word of God and apart from the spirit of God, we really are no match for the devil. The devil will. He will. He will take you further than what you want to go, he will shipwreck your faith, punch you in your face, destroy everything in your life. We really don't have that authority apart from God's Word, apart from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and apart from God himself. But because of God and because of the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, because of His Word, we have authority in those things.
B
You look at a higher authority than Michael, you look at Jesus. Jesus said, I only say what my father says and I only do what my father tells me to do. So even Jesus, even Jesus operates under authority of the Father, accountable to the Father, being all powerful, all knowing being, being the God man. He is saying, I don't speak unless my father tells me to speak. And I don't do anything my father tells me not to do. But that is where true authority comes from. Yeah.
A
And we see that Michael governed himself 100% in that moment. And I thought that was really, really powerful. I love the letter of Jude.
B
Me too.
A
I love the letter of Jude. I'm enjoying the fact that we unpacking it slowly on our pod. I think it is necessary for the times and, and, and also too, our, our visit to some of you is just, is. I mean, it's literally just around the corner and we're looking forward to not only talking to you right here from the studio in New York, but, but being with a lot of you and some of these rooms across the country, at least on the eastern seaboard on this first trip.
B
Yeah.
A
And we'll try to make it to the west coast on the next.
B
More, more cities, more dates coming soon. Yeah, we, we.
A
We're doing the best we can with the resources God has given us. And it's a seed right now. This whole thing is a seed. I think we should just keep it real.
B
Right?
A
Like everything we're doing right now is a seed. This studio, this team, street preachers, all of it is a seed. We don't got it figured out. Yeah, Tim and I ain't got to figure it out. We're just doing this by faith and, and trusting to see what God does with it. And I'm just really enjoying just sitting here and just unpacking Jude. And we're going to get a chance to do this in rooms with street team, with the street team, be able to look some of them in their eyes and pray with them and lay hands on them and love on them and spend time with pastors and leaders. And I'm really looking forward to that opportunity to just hug people and Shed tears with them and let them know that this is more than just an exchange between a camera. The more than this medium. And that we, we, I mean, we're shepherds, man. We care. We want to be out there and, and tell them about the tortime and where they could find information.
B
Yeah.
A
And what's about to happen because we, it's like literally absolutely right around the corner.
B
Yeah. Go to Street Preachers tv. You'll be able to find every city, every date, every venue that we'll be in right now, unless we have to move venues. And then we'll update the website site because of the size and the crowd that's coming, but you'll find all of the cities, all of the dates that will be in a city near you. And I can't thank those that have already purchased tickets. Those that are kind of late comers, go ahead and purchase the tickets before they sell out. And as Phil said, this is not going to be just a regular night where two talking heads sit on the stage. This is going to be a moment where we encountered the presence of Jesus Christ impartation. We believe miracle signs and wonders are going to pop off like crazy in every city that we go to. And we really feel like this is revival in every city. In the places that God is calling us to go. We have a desperation to spread the life changing, transformative gospel of Jesus Christ. And so we're excited, we're expectant, we're anticipating a move of God and we can't wait to see you there. Yeah.
A
We're also excited about this book.
B
Yeah.
A
Thank you for, for purchasing, sharing. Continue to share the bumpy road the better. Yeah, yeah, go ahead. My man Tim Timberlake's fourth book. Go ahead and pick that up from Amazon. Share with other people. Pray for me.
B
Yeah.
A
As I'm in the beginning stages of writing my very first book. Book.
B
I'm excited about that New York Times bestseller. I'm calling it now.
A
Oh, man. From your mouth to God.
B
I'm telling you, I'm calling it now.
A
New York Times. Yes, sir.
B
I'm calling it now.
A
New York Times.
B
Yes, sir.
A
I don't know, man.
B
No, no. What, what, what better way to prophesy than in New York City?
A
Yeah, man, come on. I mean, if, if, if God did do that. If God did do that, that would be a. That would be kind of dope to come from these streets and end up on a New York Times bestseller.
B
When God does it.
A
When God does it. The dual from Queens.
B
Yes, sir.
A
Yo, yo, Pray for Me, man. I'm working on this, on this book. I'm actually. I'm actually writing my first book on the first four verses of Jude. And I'm really excited about it, you know, and maybe by this time next year, I'll be able to hold one of these in my hand.
B
You will. All right.
A
Excited and I'm excited. So. Thank you for watching this episode of the Street Preachers podcast. If this episode, any episode, has been a blessing to you in any way. If you love Tim Timberlake, if you love Philip Anthony Mitchell, if you appreciate our ministry, man, like, subscribe, share all those things. Pray for us. That means more than anything, support the journey that we're on. Don't know where this is going. We're just walking this out by faith. And Tim, before we bounce, why don't we pray over everybody since everybody has to navigate relationships.
B
Yeah, right.
A
Everyone in life has to navigate relationships. Let's just pray over our street team. Let's just pray God's blessing over their relationships and his protection of relationships that shouldn't be there.
B
Absolutely.
A
Yeah.
B
Dearly Father, I just thank you for our Streep team, family and God, the people that you've connected to both this podcast and to the people that are in their lives. I thank you that you would provide a hedge of protection over them, bond their relationships closer together, the ones that you have ordained and God, grow those people that are in relationships you have not ordained ups so that those other people would fall off. God, we thank youk that yout Word teaches us that when people leave, all the people that leave are not all necessarily a loss. Yes, Lord, some were there for a reason. Some were there for a season, God, some youe've placed in our life for a lifetime. We thank youk that yout would make that clear. You would make that evident yout would reveal to youo sons and you'd daughters. God, who is making a deposit and who is withdrawing, drawing in an unhealthy way, we ask right now in the name of Jesus, that you would guard the minds of your sons and daughters. Let not the plans, the weapons, the tactics of the enemy prevail in their mind. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen.
A
Family, we'll see you in the next episode and we see some of you in the room in just a few weeks. We love you. Be blessed.
