This is Matt and Myron the podcast. I was early on my bike.

That was, that was when people were still saying that that was going to work.

Yeah.

Matt Myers, presented by Progressive Insurance. We are here. You can say big when you bundle your home, auto, motorcycle, RV or boat. Visit progressive.com it's, it's, this is my, my theory of radio by the way was proven in that last hour which is you, if you, if you do it right, you could talk about anything. The social media is blowing up with the River States Conference including. I learned from one of my classmates that when I was at Transylvania we were in the River States Conference. Who knew?
Myron Kellum
Wait a minute.
Matt Myers
After mocking alumni of the River States Conference, I found out I'm an alumni of the River States Conference.
Myron Kellum
Myron Kellum.
Matt Myers
See, it'd be your own people and
Myron Kellum
see you are knocking your own people, man.
Matt Myers
And we also learned a segment that we are going to start adding to the show which is when people don't like what I say, they come back with Myron, tell him he kept trying
Myron Kellum
to set me up like I was going to help his cause. I didn't even know what he was talking about.
Matt Myers
Yeah, it was not crazy for me to believe a Williams sister did not go to Indiana East. Before we move on, I do have to ask the question. In 2015. Yeah. When Venus Williams decided she needed a college degree.
Unidentified Guest/Contributor
Yeah.
Matt Myers
Why did she pick online classes at Indiana East?
Myron Kellum
I mean they probably just gave it to her, I feel like.
Sports News Reporter
But I mean I think that's a very fair question.
Matt Myers
I feel like she could have gotten in touch a lot of schools and online at Indiana east might be one
Myron Kellum
of those situations where your final exam is playing tennis. You know, like one of those.
Matt Myers
But do you, how did she pick it? Do you think she clicked a pop up ad?
Myron Kellum
Listen man, if you're at home from the hours of 10am to 3pm that's when those Indiana University East Ads pop up on the tv. I can see just making a call.
Matt Myers
Oh, so you think she was like
Myron Kellum
watching Ellen right after Jerry Springer? Right after Jerry Springer. It's three hours of ads for online schools and you get caught up in that. So I'm sure she made a call.
Matt Myers
And that's one of the most remarkable things I've ever heard. Venus Williams, who literally has been to every exotic spot in the world, decides to go to a College just off I70 in Richmond, Indiana, and graduate from Indiana East.
Myron Kellum
Was she doing homework during Wimbledon? I don't know. I don't know what the situation was. Myron, tell him.
Matt Myers
So we'll switch gears. Although I did enjoy that a lot. The Raiders have traded Max Crosby to the Ravens. The biggest trade in the franchise history. The ray. The Ravens are acquiring Max Crosby for a first round pick in this year's draft and a first round pick in next year's draft. Two first round picks, according to Adam Schefter. That is a big haul. It's also very rare. And when it's. When you get the Ravens pick, you don't even know where that's going to be. Baltimore has the number 14 pick in this year's draft, so we know it's high. Crosby is amazing. Like he's one of those guys that is. Can absolutely change your team. And the Ravens only had 30 sacks last year, so it makes a lot of sense. But two first rounders is a crazy high haul. What do you make of the trade for both teams?
Myron Kellum
I think they both won. You know, I think if you're the Ravens, which finished I think 28th in sacks the first time in 30 years that they're not bringing back an edge rusher who had at least six sacks per game, six sacks last season. I mean, Max Crosby got hurt last year and still had more sacks than anybody on that defensive line in Baltimore. So I get why you make the move. I think it, it shows how much you trust Lamar Jackson, that you're all in on Lamar Jackson for the next two to five years and you can win now. I mean, if you get Max Crosby, that changes who you are defensively, puts Baltimore in a really favorable spot to make a run into the playoffs. And I think if you're the Raiders, you can pick all of your building blocks for the future, if you're Clint Kubiak. So I just think it works out for everybody.
Matt Myers
It's obviously a great deal for the Raiders because now you also, in addition to your quarterback of the future, you're going to get Another big piece for the Ravens. I get it. It's an all in play, right? It's a play of. You know what? We don't know how much longer we're going to have Lamar at a high level. We got to go now. And we always think of Ravens defense. Excuse me, but it hasn't been that defense in recent years, so I get it. But two first rounders, man, that's a lot in the NFL. How many guys have gone for that? I mean, it's only a handful. Now. Crosby said in his heart he will always be a Raider and that he will retire a Raider when he finishes. If you're a Ravens fan, does that matter to you? That he already said his heart is with his ex?
Myron Kellum
Yeah. I don't think you said now. You know, I think you got to give it a little time before you.
Matt Myers
He's already said it.
Myron Kellum
I know. I think he said it too soon. Like, if you say that in the middle of next season and you're playing well and you're vibing with your teammates, that's a little easier to digest than saying it immediately after the training. You don't wanna date someone there. Like, just so you know, I still love her. Right. Like, that doesn't make you feel great in that situation.
Matt Myers
Especially on the. Like, this is before the first date.
Myron Kellum
Yeah. This is like, this is during the
Matt Myers
open FaceTime to make sure they're real.
Myron Kellum
You just match with this person and you're like, by the way, I do still love her and I always.
Matt Myers
Will I come with baggage.
Myron Kellum
Yeah. We're always gonna be close. Like, I don't know if you say that right now, so.
Matt Myers
But would you. If you were a fan, would you care? Like, I will say this, if I was a Ravens fan, I wouldn't care because, you know, it's not. I would look at it as. It's not like you and I are getting married. You're here to do a job for us, and I'm good with it. You know, this had a situation in college basketball for Kentucky. There's this player, Tyron Stokes. He's number one player in the country. He did an interview this week where he said, I want to go to Kansas, but if it doesn't really work out, then I'll go to Kentucky. And there were Kentucky fans going, well, I don't want to be his second choice. And I was like, I will be his second choice. He's the number one player in the country. Of course you want that. I feel like the same way here with the Ravens.
Myron Kellum
I watch Love is Blind religiously. Right.
Matt Myers
And so I haven't seen that show. Is it worth all the hype?
Myron Kellum
It is. Sometimes you end up with your second choice. That's okay. What you don't want to do is let that person know you were certainly their second choice. So I think that's the difference. If Tyron Stokes picked Kentucky and in his opening press conference was like, just so you all know, I'll always be a Kansas Jayhawk in my heart because that's where I wanted to go, that would be a problem. And again, I don't think Ravens fans are going to be up too upset right now because they got a guy who's a defensive playmaker, game changer, all those things. But Matt, if we get to week 10 and Matt Crosby ain't living up to the buzz, that's when those kind of comments may come back to haunt him.
Matt Myers
Do you think he will change the Ravens fortunes this year? Do they become a contender in your mind?
Myron Kellum
Yeah. I mean, the AFC to me feels wide open again. I think you. You turn yourself into a team that doesn't have to rely on Lamar Jackson as much, and I think that's a good thing for a guy, Lamar Jackson, who's going to turn 30 in January. So I think it's a great move for a Ravens team that realizes they have to win. Now. I think if you're Jesse mentor, you're putting your stamp on this team right away, adding a defensive piece like that. I think everybody wins on both sides. Yeah.
Matt Myers
I think the AFC is wide open. The Patriots have created a well, if they did it, we can mentality. And since the Chiefs to me are going to be in kind of a quasi rebuilding year, this feels like as good a time as any. I really like it for this reason. I don't think you can plan on having more than two to three great Lamar years left. So because of that, go for it, right? Yeah, just go for it. And I think if you're going to do it, Max Crosby is the kind of dude to just go for it.
Myron Kellum
I agree. But you know, they've never given up a first round pick until now in a trade.
Matt Myers
Love is blind. The dude from Love is Blind, I think his name is Chris. Is he as bad as everyone acts like?
Myron Kellum
Yes. Maybe. Maybe one of the worst people I've ever seen. Yeah.
Matt Myers
Just not because he said he wanted his wife to go to Pilates.
Rich Eisen
Yeah.
Myron Kellum
And he, he says to this incredible woman that she doesn't work out enough and that he doesn't think she's as a TR It's a very the reunion comes out Wednesday and they're going to destroy him, I'm sure. But then they showed a side profile of him first. He's like 5 foot 2 and he's out of shape and he's talking about her. It's and she's a doctor and she's incredible and he shouldn't even be on the show. Don't get me started on Chris because I got strong thoughts about him and yeah, sounds like she deserves a lot better.
Matt Myers
Well, I hope you I'm glad to hear you express it. I would say in a future edition of Tell a Myron, it's just Myron's thoughts about the Myron Kellum.

The Sunday headlines.
Matt Myers
All right, let's get started. What's up?
Sports News Reporter
First, James San Antonio forward Harrison Barnes missed his first game since 2021 because he woke up from a pre game nap with a sore left ankle. Barnes's streak of 364 straight games played ended Thursday night against the Sixers. It was his first base game since December 4th of 2021 when he played with Sacramento. He was a surprise late addition to the injury report. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said only the Barnes reported soreness when he woke up from a nap and received pregame treatment from the medical staff. We're all three fourths of the show unit right now. We're over 40. You guys ever woken up with an injury?
Matt Myers
Two things here that really surprised me. Number one, Harrison Barnes still being in the league. Had no idea.
Myron Kellum
Incredible story.
Matt Myers
Good for him. Second, you know you're old when you wake up and things just hurt. Like, I mean, that's just how it is. And that happens to me sometimes. I wake up and I go, this ain't gonna be a good day for my back. And that's just how it is. So Harrison Barnes has first 364 straight games in today's NBA. Pretty amazing, but that's how you get old, Myron. Yeah, things just start hurting when you wake up.
Myron Kellum
Yeah. Shout out to Harrison Barnes who's going to leave the NBA making like a quarter of a billion dollars. He's played forever. But yeah, you get into your mid-30s. I think he's approaching that. And stuff just hurts. And the thing is, Matt, you can't explain it. Like people say, how did it happen? That you don't even know how it happens sometimes.
Matt Myers
Well, your knees just crawling a little bit. Like my, my grandma would sometimes say, my nerves are acting up.
Myron Kellum
Acting up.
Matt Myers
And I was like, I don't know what that means. Now you do. Acting up.
Myron Kellum
Yep. Now you do.
Matt Myers
What does it mean?
Myron Kellum
It just acting up. They just acted up. It just explains everything.
Matt Myers
Just sometimes things are just acting up.
Myron Kellum
That's what happened.
Matt Myers
And I would say to my grandmother, what do you mean acting up? And she'd go, go outside.
Myron Kellum
Yep, yep, that's all. It made sense the older you get.
Matt Myers
So, you know, there is something to be said about when you get to that age that you can just say things are acting up and if somebody questions you, send them outside.
Myron Kellum
Go outside. Myron Kellum, near 7.
Matt Myers
That's right. Who's up next.
Sports News Reporter
And stay out there. Don't come. Don't be walking back.
Myron Kellum
You can't just come back in.
Sports News Reporter
You can't be opening and shutting the door all the time.
Myron Kellum
Once you leave, you're out for the day.
Rich Eisen
Get out of here.
Matt Myers
Yeah.
Sports News Reporter
Just go.
Myron Kellum
Letting all that come back. Absolutely not.
Sports News Reporter
Dinner's at 5:30.
Myron Kellum
See you then.
Matt Myers
Yeah.
Sports News Reporter
All right. Earlier this week on his podcast, Draymond Green called out the media for the double standard when talking about Nico Harrison training Luca. Here's a. Here's a little piece of that.
Unidentified Guest/Contributor
So many people crush Nico Harrison for the reasons that he gave. And when Nico gave those reasonings, everybody said, he's ridiculous, he's crazy. This has nothing to do with Luca, by the way, what I'm saying. But now when I turn on the tv, all I see is everybody in the media who crushed Nico Harrison, who essentially aided in him getting fired, regurgitating the same things that Nico Harrison was saying. And I struggle with that because I haven't seen one person come out and say, hey, Nico, I'm sorry for the things I said about you when you made those. That move, because I just said the same thing out of my mouth. I struggle with that a bit. Again, this has nothing to do with Luka Doncic and everything to do with the media and Nico Harrison. Nico gave his reasonings as the general manager of a team of why he thought that was the right move. And everybody said, you're an idiot. You should be fired. Worst general manager in NBA history. And now all of you people are saying the same thing. But no one has said maybe Nico was right.
Matt Myers
I did, by the way. I did it. I did at the time.
Myron Kellum
How is he right?
Matt Myers
Well, I didn't. I think he. I don't. I don't know if he's right, but I don't think it was as wrong as people think. But let me just say one thing about this. Whether you agree with his opinion or not, two things about Draymond. He talks way too much. And number two, he. I hate saying. This isn't about Luca. Of course it's about Luca. The premise of your whole argument is that Luca's not as good and as reliable as people think. That's.
Myron Kellum
So. Don't.
Matt Myers
Do not do. The caveat of this is not about Luca. Of course it's about Luca. Stop it.
Myron Kellum
I remember my dad would tell me, sometimes you say a whole lot without saying anything at all. And that's what Draymond just did. What is he talking about? We gotta end Podcast, by the way, like he said, none of this is about Luca. To your point, it is all about Luca. And then he says, Nico Harrison was right. What was he right about? And who are these media people you're talking about that are, quote, regurgitating? Whatever.
Matt Myers
He's right about that. You. Maybe you can't win a title with Luca. And that. And that, you know, he ended up with Cooper Flag.
Myron Kellum
Listen, he lucked in the Cooper Flag. Because that's just the draft lottery got him. That's the draft lottery. But Luka's still a top five player in the league. Like, at the end of the day, the Lakers got to make some moves to make.
Matt Myers
You can win the title with Luke.
Myron Kellum
I think you will at some point. I think you will at some point.
Matt Myers
Yeah, he won't.
Myron Kellum
But Draymond didn't say anything definitive. He's just talking. Like, I don't understand what his point was in that clip. I find people like to hear themselves talk. That's what it is.
Matt Myers
I find Draymond. Maybe I'm wrong at who the market is for. Draymond. Words, but I find Draymond the least likable NBA player talking. Maybe I'm wrong, but. But I don't know who the market is for. Give me more. People think he's Barkley, but he's not Barkley. He's not?
Myron Kellum
No. And he never will be. Guys come into the media and they're like, I can do this. This is easy. But, like, imagine if we tried to say, we're going to join an NBA team. He's not what he thinks he is in the media space, yet he talks like it.
Matt Myers
Jeff Teague is the new Barkley. I would put Jeff Teague on every show, and Jeff Teague and Behen. Give them a show.
Myron Kellum
Probably the Barkley, but I just. He didn't make a point. And that whole ramp. He didn't really say that.
Matt Myers
The new pregame shows need to be Jeff Teague. And B, what's Next?
Sports News Reporter
Everybody's favorite YouTube guy, I guess, at least. Favorite WWE superstar Logan Paul made some waves on social media earlier this week.
Matt Myers
Absurd.
Sports News Reporter
Talking about boxing, NFL players. This is what he said.
Matt Myers
What football players would straight up beat his ass? Not a single name. I would put. I would put any amount of money that you could put.
Myron Kellum
Metcalf.
Matt Myers
Not a single football player beat me in a boxing match.
Myron Kellum
Miles Garrett.
Matt Myers
That is on.
Sponsor/Advertiser Voice
God.
Myron Kellum
Miles Garrett.
Matt Myers
I would throttle Miles Garrett. Come on, now.
Myron Kellum
He's right.
Matt Myers
Now that's low. Wait a minute. That's not Jake, That's Logan.
Myron Kellum
He's right. Myron Kellum. Yeah.
Matt Myers
So Logan. Forget it.
Myron Kellum
He's right.
Matt Myers
Logan's not even a boxer.
Myron Kellum
He's boxer.
Matt Myers
Jake is at least a boxer.
Myron Kellum
Yeah. Logan boxes. He's trained. Listen, it's a completely different skill set if you tell me that the rules are boxing rules and you just put some big dudes in there who never boxed before. I think Logan would win in those situations because he's trained no different than you put Logan Paul on an NFL field. He's pretty athletic, but he wouldn't sell.
Matt Myers
Miles Garrett's going to have £100 on him.
Myron Kellum
You don't know if Miles Garrett can fight in that format. Like boxing is a different thing. Miles Garrett could pick him up and throw him into a wall. Yes, but boxing is a specific skill set that Logan has some training in. So I actually believe Logan Paul in this situation because you got to stop.
Matt Myers
You telling me Logan Paul, who, by the way, is not a boxer. Jake is a boxer. But you're telling me Logan Paul can beat up anybody that can't box is what you're saying. Because. Because they're not better athletes than NFL players. He can beat up any human being that can't box.
Myron Kellum
Boxing is a very specific skill set. He would. He would win a boxing match against all those.
Matt Myers
I want you to go look at Miles Garrett in the face and tell him that Logan, I think Myles Garrett
Myron Kellum
would beat him up in a fight, but I think Logan Paul in that format is going to win against an untrained guy.
Matt Myers
You boxing nerds got to stop. I mean, there is zero Miles Garrett. I wouldn't even look at Miles Garrett the wrong way. And you're going to put Logan Paul in a ring with him?
Myron Kellum
You don't know if Miles. Miles Garrett can box.
Matt Myers
Give him. Give him one day of training. He will knock.
Myron Kellum
No.
Matt Myers
You.
Caller/Brianna
You.
Matt Myers
Are you just a sucker for the Paul brothers? If there's one thing I know, Myron Metcalf loves him. Some Paul brothers. The Paulette starring Myron Metcalf.
Myron Kellum
Next, Matt and Myon the podcast.

Matt Myron here on ESPN Radio. Been a fun show this morning. Not gonna lie to you Text Machine. As you know, you can write me 772-774-52541 person writes Matt although Myron is right, boxing Skill wins out 99% of the time. Logan is not his brother. He has pillow hands and would not be able to do even close to what Jake could. What about that? Pillow hands?
Myron Kellum
Okay fine, you all don't understand boxing. Logan Paul is never going to stand in front of a Miles Garrett and let Myles Garrett throw his hardest punch.
Matt Myers
That's not boxing, but what does that mean pillow hands?
Myron Kellum
He said he can't knock anybody out. He doesn't have to in a boxing match. He just has to win an effective aggression, which is what you score on. He's not going to stand in front of him. He's going to move around the ring, he's going to throw a jab, he's going to work his jab and he's going to score and he's going to win all around.
Matt Myers
That phrase sounds like something a professional wrestler would say. I have effective aggression.
Myron Kellum
Miles Garrett is going to get tired by about the third, fourth or fifth
Matt Myers
round and then talking to my Metcalf or Pete Hedger.
Myron Kellum
I'm just saying we can't. Don't. Not today. Don't do that today.
Matt Myers
Don't say that. Brianna.
Myron Kellum
Don't say that today.
Matt Myers
Brianna is in Indiana. Go ahead, Brianna.
Caller/Brianna
Yeah, I just want to clarify one thing on this whole Indiana East. It's actually Indiana University east and it's part of the regional campus system of IU Bloomington. Like there's IU East, IU Kokomo, IU Northwest, IU Southeast. That's what it is. So it's a regional campus for the bigger system.
Matt Myers
Okay. But it still doesn't explain like, I still don't know what it is. I know it's on i70. Great school. It still feels like a school though. That beating Iue shouldn't get you into the NCAA tournament.
Sports News Reporter
Sierra Williams is all the money.
Matt Myers
Yeah, it's. It's. Understand Venus, but like, I'm not trying to disparage it, but Brianna, you would agree they lost by 80 points to Miami.
Unidentified Guest/Contributor
Wow.
Matt Myers
I think that, that, that's not against Miami. Of Ohio's resume played them is because
Caller/Brianna
they're like 25 minutes away. Like they're both in the country. Like Richmond is basically near Oxford, Ohio.
Matt Myers
Yeah, I understand, but that shouldn't get you in the tournament. You go because it's close to the nearest place. Like, I don't feel like that's. That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying it's a bad school. Do you know why Venus Williams went to college there?
Caller/Brianna
It was Serena. I don't know. But yes, that is true. She did take an online course and the campus made a very big deal out of it.
Myron Kellum
Yeah, Venus graduated. She graduated from there, apparently. So, you know, so.
Matt Myers
So did you go there real quick?
Caller/Brianna
I used to work at Indiana University and did a lot of travel on the regional campus.
Myron Kellum
Oh, this is Brianna.
Caller/Brianna
I'm.
Myron Kellum
Oh, Brianna.
Matt Myers
Hey.
Myron Kellum
What's up?
Matt Myers
Oh, this is the one. Yeah, this is Brianna. You always take up for the state of Indiana. You know, I say it's the worst state in the country and you don't like that.
Myron Kellum
I didn't say that, Brianna. By the way, I can't wait to come to Indy for the Final Four.
Matt Myers
No, it's the worst state in the country.
Myron Kellum
We're gonna have such a good time in Indianapolis. It's a great city. Don't listen to me.
Caller/Brianna
It is a great city.
Matt Myers
Indiana and Kansas. Indiana and Kansas and Nebraska are in a three way fight for worst state in the country. And that's how it is. That's just how it is, Brianna. Doesn't mean I don't like you.
Myron Kellum
We're gonna have a great Final Four. I can't wait.
Caller/Brianna
Like hurt from the Watt shot. When Tom Crean was on a couple weeks ago, I still wanted to call in and be like, tom, can you talk to Matt about the Watt shot when we beat Kentucky?
Matt Myers
See, this is what's wrong with Indiana. Y' all still talk about a regular season. He loves it in 2011. You put. All right, hang up. I like Brian. I'm gonna get worked up, and I don't need to be getting worked.
Myron Kellum
Matt, you said it was a, you thought it was a really great idea when Indiana reenacted the Christian Watford shot, right?
Matt Myers
It is. So I just want people to think about if you're. If like the LA Lakers were to be, were to sit there and go, let's recreate a regular season game from 1999. This is Indiana basketball and they, they hang their hats on a regular season.
Myron Kellum
Stop it.
Matt Myers
All right, let's talk about something a little different. You know, the World Cup's coming up this year. Are you excited about the World Cup? Do you like the man?
Myron Kellum
I've been buying, like, every time I go to Vegas, I'm buying jerseys. So I'm getting into it. I like soccer jerseys. I buy color schemes. So I buy the shoes that match the jersey. So I buy the shoes, then I go find a jersey.
Matt Myers
So what country's jerseys have you bought?
Myron Kellum
I got Colombia last time I was there. And I only knew it was Colombia because this woman from Colombia was in the store and she was like, colombia. Yes, go.
Matt Myers
So now, hang on. Now we know what happened, right? He saw a beautiful woman.
Myron Kellum
No, that's not what happened at all.
Matt Myers
And then decided to buy.
Myron Kellum
Don't put that on me.
Matt Myers
That's what happened.
Myron Kellum
That's what happened. I bought it and then she Was from Colombia. She was with her family. I know it was Columbia.
Matt Myers
No, I know what it was.
Myron Kellum
Absolutely not. This. This is not. That's not me.
Matt Myers
Myron, tell him.
Myron Kellum
Myron, tell him that I'm not single. So that's certainly not something I would do. But I think I buy the shoes and then I go look for the jersey.
Matt Myers
All of these jerseys are yellow. Did you buy yellow shoes?
Myron Kellum
Oh, I got these. I got these yellow sambas. These yellow. These yellow sambas. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. These yellow sambas. And then I got the jersey.
Caller/Brianna
I would say.
Matt Myers
I was gonna say, for the bracket show, will you wear your yellow Colombian jersey?
Myron Kellum
I'll wear my little samba.
Sports News Reporter
I don't think this is a question. I think you have to wear.
Myron Kellum
I've got color coordinated. So the teams I'm rooting for are the jerseys I have. So I'm on a root for Columbia. I bought Japan's jersey, so I got them. So I'm going to be rooting for both of those teams for sure.
Matt Myers
All right, well, that's. That's good to see. I'm excited about it. I'm going to do what I often do. I go and I highly recommend this to people. I go to New York City for a few days during the World cup, and I look up because New York City has every kind of restaurant, like, every kind of country's restaurant, and I go find whatever country's playing and go to a restaurant where people from that country are watching and then get into it. So every game is like a different ethnic.
Myron Kellum
You just, like. You just walk into Argentina's.
Matt Myers
Actually, I Argent. I went to an Argentina. I went out to Queens. It was an Argentinian steakhouse. Yeah, everybody in there was Argentinian. I came in. It was one of the most fun days I had.
Myron Kellum
Yeah, listen, I'm excited for the night,
Matt Myers
but, I mean, you're acting like I shouldn't do that. I'm trying to be a part of the culture. Can I not do that?
Myron Kellum
I just wonder how you walk into the establishment, because, you know, like, do you just walk in or you just sit at somebody's random table?
Matt Myers
I mean, you're acting like it's on Animal House where the music skips when you walk into the bar. That's not.
Myron Kellum
Well, some countries it might.
Matt Myers
It's not like that. This is the difference between me and you. I feel comfortable being a part of any country. You don't. You.
Myron Kellum
Wait.
Matt Myers
What?
Myron Kellum
No, I respect it. I just, you know, because sometimes you can come in a little boisterous.
Matt Myers
No, I come in very respectful. So when I. In the last World Cup, I did it for Argentina, Uruguay, I did it for Ghana. I went to Ghana. I mean, they did look at me when I went to Ghana.
Myron Kellum
Did Ghana invite you or did you?
Matt Myers
Ghana didn't invite me, but they were very welcoming once I got there.
Myron Kellum
I will say the World cup has the most passionate fans in sports, but,
Matt Myers
I mean, I didn't go to Ghana. For the record. I went to a Ganese restaurant in New York.
Myron Kellum
Is it Gunes or is it Ghanaian? I think it's Ghanaian.
Matt Myers
I. Whatever it is, I was very respectful when I went there.
Myron Kellum
I want to go to a World cup match this summer. I mean, I hope I can find a way to get.
Matt Myers
I don't know if you've seen the prices of the tickets.
Myron Kellum
How much are they?
Matt Myers
Yeah. All right, so this is all lead into Lionel Messi.
Sports News Reporter
The report came out Ghanians.
Myron Kellum
That's what I said. Yeah, Ghanaians.
Matt Myers
I think that's. I said Ghanians. He said Ganes.
Myron Kellum
So you're talking about Ganese. They were looking at you funny.
Matt Myers
Lionel Messi is making reports 70 to 80 million dollars a year with Inter Miami. According to the owner of the team. That includes his share in ownership. 70 to $80 million. It would make him one of, if not the highest paid athletes in the world in salary. This isn't salary. This is not endorsements. He has a base salary of $20 million. Guaranteed bonuses that go up to. To, excuse me, 12 million guaranteed bonuses go up to 20. But then when his ownership share is brought in, including slices of the tickets, 70 to 80 million dollars. What do you make of that?
Myron Kellum
I had no idea he was making that kind of money. I mean, that is a huge investment. And it also sounds like he's got endorsement deals with Adidas at Apple. Here's my question, Matt, because you're an MLS guy, you. You followed sort of the growth of MLS since Messi arrived. Is it worth it? Like, does he put a big enough spotlight on MLS to make question?
Matt Myers
Because I know. All right, so there's a team in Cincinnati and a team in Nashville, close to here. And I know because I've tried to go see, when Messi is there, the prices of his tickets are out of this world. Like, when he comes to town, he is the only person in soccer in America that you stop what you're doing to go watch. So if you are, if you're Inter Miami, your games are events everywhere you go, and it's only because of Messi. None of the other teams are like that. So yes, I would say it is worth it.
Myron Kellum
I would think 80 million just sounds like an incredible investment for any franchise in any.
Matt Myers
Wouldn't you like to see Messi before he retires?
Myron Kellum
Yeah, but it also, but it also shows that, that I guess I don't necessarily understand who he is in soccer. I know he's a legend, but $80 million a year for a guy who's not in his prime anymore, that, that's surprising.
Matt Myers
He's one of those people like Pele.
Myron Kellum
Is he Tiger woods in soccer?
Matt Myers
I mean, he's. He, he's probably in that ballpark, right? Whether he's Tiger or not. So I get it. It makes sense to me. He's the only person that I would leave my house and be like, I gotta see him play.
Myron Kellum
Yeah.
Matt Myers
Now, my fellow Ghanaians fans, I would go see them play, but not for any individual. Just for pride of the of the flag.
Myron Kellum
Colombia. Great jerseys.
Matt Myers
You better be wearing that next week at the tournament special. I'm just saying. I'm expecting to see you in your yellow sambas next week. Bachelor bachelorette parties. I didn't know that people do them together. Seemed like it would be awful. Well, we have some proof of that now. We'll talk about it next. I'm Matt Myron.
Myron Kellum
Matt and Myron. The Podcast.

Myron Kellum
This Katy Perry.
Matt Myers
Who is it, Rachel? I have no idea.
Caller/Brianna
It's Ke$ha.
Matt Myers
Yeah.
Caller/Brianna
How is it you're getting pleasure but
Matt Myers
you don't know who it is? Well, it's just one of those songs that when I hear it, I find myself going, you know, for a long time, that was Natasha Bedingfield. The rest is still unwritten. And then I met her at a party and I had to like, pick broccoli out of her teeth. And so now I don't. I remember that. So it lost a little of its appeal.
Myron Kellum
Yeah.
Matt Myers
But this, this is one that I. That I. That I like. Don't like to admit it, but it's true.
Sports News Reporter
I've never heard that song in my life.
Myron Kellum
Oh, I have. You have. You've heard it.
Matt Myers
Nope. You've heard that song? Yeah, you have. It comes on.
Myron Kellum
Your mind's like, dj, turn it up. Nope.
Matt Myers
It's on like every. It's at every Trader Joe's or that you ever go into. It's one of those, man.
Myron Kellum
Sometimes I go to Trader Joe's just for the music. It's so good. I just like the soundtrack of Trader Joe's. I really enjoy it. So sometimes I just go just for the music.
Matt Myers
That'd be a good T shirt for you to wear. I go to Trader Joe's.
Myron Kellum
Myron Kellum. Yeah, just.
Matt Myers
That's right. Just the music. All right, so let's talk for just a second about bachelor and bachelorette parties. Because Dak Prescott had something I didn't know was a thing. A joint bachelor and bachelorette party.
Myron Kellum
Yeah.
Matt Myers
I'm a big fan of the bachelor party. You go with your boys, you Kind of. You don't have to go wild. You just get to do something together. I've been on golf, bachelor party trips. I've been to Vegas. I've been to sporting events. Bachelorette parties are usually at a beach or something and everybody wears. Or Nashville. But apparently there's a thing now where people go together, men and women, as a couples, to do it. That sounds awful to me. I generally have a rule. If a couple has a joint Facebook account, then I don't like them because I don't think they're going to be people I want to be around. And I would have had the initial reaction of that of a joint bachelor and. And bachelorette party. But Dak Prescott, his wedding has reportedly been called off just a month before he was supposed to wed Sarah Jane Ramos. According to a report by tmz, every thing seemed like good times between the two. And they had a joint bachelor and bachelorette party when they saw. Wait a minute. Why did you write this sentence for me to read?
Myron Kellum
What?
Matt Myers
This is why I don't like to read copy. Just leave it up there for a second. That True story. Most people you hear on TV and radio, you just put words in front of them and they just read.
Myron Kellum
I'll read anything.
Matt Myers
I don't like to do that. I like to put it in my own words.
Myron Kellum
Yeah. Surprising.
Matt Myers
I decided in this case, to read it. And this is what James and Rachel wanted me to say. Okay, I'm gonna read this sentence like they wanted me to read it. Okay. Everything seemed like good times between the two as they had a joint bachelor and bachelorette party where we saw Ramos sizzle in her bikinis. You wanted me to say as if it was from my words.
Sports News Reporter
Yeah.
Matt Myers
That she sizzled in her bikinis.
Myron Kellum
What else would you say?
Matt Myers
I wouldn't say anything about her bikini.
Myron Kellum
Okay. Okay.
Sports News Reporter
You could have just not said that.
Matt Myers
Yeah, well, but it was here.
Myron Kellum
Okay.
Matt Myers
Why did you put it in there?
Myron Kellum
I don't. I just. Did she sizzle? I mean, that's what it comes down to.
Matt Myers
Okay, so just for the record, apparently bikini sizzling took place.
Myron Kellum
If she sizzled, she sizzled.
Matt Myers
But NY was not.
Myron Kellum
Listen, man, when you sizzle, it just happens. Yeah. I don't know if you've experienced it before, but, like, all you had to do was not say you sizzle when you sizzled.
Matt Myers
I just. I don't sizzle on my. In my world. But apparently all is not well in paradise.
Myron Kellum
No.
Matt Myers
As something happened during the bachelor and bachelorette party that broke them up and they are now beyond repair. There was a blow up argument and Sarah Jane has called it off despite her sizzling. What do you make of this news?
Myron Kellum
No man in the history of man has ever organized a joint bachelor bachelorette party. By the way, he has been told that he's going to participate in a joint bachelor bachelorette party. Like, I could see that situation. And that's usually a bad sign if she's saying, nah, you can't go on your own on a bachelor party. We got to go together. Right? That's already a bad sign. It sounds like they were on rocky terms leading into this.
Matt Myers
And now you think the only reason a man would go on a joint bachelor bachelorette party is because his woman makes it.
Myron Kellum
Absolutely. Yeah. I don't feel like that came to the table one morning, was like, let's do it together. You know what I mean?
Matt Myers
I'm sure you're saying like, but I would think Dak Prescott would go, no, I'm going with my friends. We're having a bachelor party. We're not doing this couples retreat.
Myron Kellum
Yeah, but. But again, that's why, you know, it wasn't his idea. He probably said it. And then she may have said, well, make a choice. Like, you imagine the text to his boys, hey, we're gonna do this with.
Matt Myers
Oh, his. Cause his boys were probably looking forward to it. They were like, oh, my goodness, a Dak Prescott bachelor party. This is gonna be wild.
Myron Kellum
They didn't know it was a joint party till they got to the airport. You know what I mean? They had all kinds of plans, and they got to the airport and it was, wait a minute, what's the situation? But they had issues, apparently, going into the trip, and, you know, you're partying with friends, people are making little comments, hey, man, are you sure? And all of a sudden you have this explosive argument, apparently, and everything's off.
Matt Myers
Now, I saw a comment online I thought was good.
Myron Kellum
Yeah.
Matt Myers
That said this is what happens anytime Dak Prescott gets close to a ring.
Myron Kellum
That's not. That's not nice. That's not. That's not necessary. We don't have to. It's a painful moment for this man.
Matt Myers
I mean, to be fair, though, to be fair, that's a pretty good line. Don't you agree? It is. But like, Prescott's to get a ring. We've learned that with the cowboys.
Myron Kellum
It's clever, but it's. It's a. It's a painful moment to get to this point. You got to call off the wedding. They got kids Involved. There's, there's a lot. There's a lot there. You know, that's, that's tough. And then the biggest thing is you're not getting those deposits back. Weddings don't let you. You the cake and the, and the venue and you got to pay all the.
Matt Myers
You lose all the deposits. You know, I, I don't know if you know that. You know I own a wedding. You.
Myron Kellum
I do know that. Yeah. Would you, would you give Dak his deposit?
Matt Myers
We keep your deposits. Yes. Because. Well, because you have to. Because you have to book this like a year and a half in advance. And if you take the weekend and then don't do it, we can't sell the weekend in a month's notice.
Myron Kellum
But if I call you up and I say, hey, Matt, man, we had this big blow up argument on this joint bachelor bachelorette party.
Unidentified Guest/Contributor
Yeah.
Myron Kellum
Everything's all.
Matt Myers
I'm really, I'm really sorry we won't cash the full amount, but your deposit is still going to.
Myron Kellum
Like, I'm down on my luck. I had a rough weekend and I don't get my deposit back.
Matt Myers
That's what you get for going on this joint bachelor and bachelor party. I have to pay a mortgage here, Byron. I can't not do it because y' all got upset while you were out
Myron Kellum
sizzling you deposit people. I mean, that would be my biggest thing after the breakup would be all this stuff. I don't get my deposit back. But that's gotta be a tough situation. I also just wouldn't recommend ever doing anything as a joint bachelor and bachelorette party. Like that doesn't make sense to me. Not a great idea.
Matt Myers
All right, 888, say ESPN. We saw this with the Great Rivers Conference. Is there anyone out there who's been to a joint bachelor and bachelorette party? What's it like? I've been to joint showers. Although just for the record, I hate those two. No reason to have me involved. No reason to have men involved in a joint shower, especially if it's a baby shower. Because I do not know what to bring children. Like, what do you even get them? Like, I got a joint baby shower coming here soon. I don't know what to get people.
Myron Kellum
Have you heard of a registry? Because usually that tells you.
Matt Myers
But I don't know where to look. It's too.
Myron Kellum
You can't go www.it's too much.
Matt Myers
Give the baby one of my extra Ellie de La Cruz bobblehead and they
Myron Kellum
throw it away when you leave. That's the thing. They, they put it in the pile of stuff that they're never going to use or they sell it on ebay.
Matt Myers
So if you've ever been to 1-888- say- ESPN, if you've done a joint bachelor or bachelorette party, I'd like to know how they go down, what is it that happens and why would anyone go to them? Plus, the World Baseball Classic is going on. Huge day of college basketball, both the men's and the women's side, and a lot more. That's all here on Matt Myon, where we give you all the facts about all the stories that right here on espn.
