I mean, the Lions look like they've turned it up. I mean that weird loss to the Vikings didn't make a lot of sense, but got rolling again last week. I still feel like they're one of the three best teams in the NFL right now. They've had some tough games, but Dan Campbell took over play calling duties. It looks like it looked like he.

[Myron Metcalf]

Kind of make it make of his decision not to say anything until after the game and then he does it. It works extremely well. Were you surprised that and what do you make of that decision?

[Kevin Clark]

Well, I mean John Morton's a new offensive coordinator after losing Ben Johnson.

[Myron Metcalf]

I think next year.

[Kevin Clark]

Well, I think if you're Dan Campbell. But here's the thing. Dan Campbell, A lot of coaches in Dan Campbell's positions could have embarrassed John Morton. And I think Dan Campbell is just such a standup dude. He did it in a way that wasn't like that. But they won. So I think you got to put him in that spot.

[Myron Metcalf]

You got. You get the play calls taken from you and then the team does a lot better. It's going to be hard not to be embarrassed.

[Kevin Clark]

Yeah, but that team is too good, that offense is too good for you not to be in a position to score 30 plus points. Because that team, that team is capable of doing that. But I think the Eagles at home, it's hard to beat them. I think the Eagles win. But the A.J. brown thing, I think that could, that could hurt them in the playoffs more than people realize.

[Myron Metcalf]

I'm going to take the lines here, actually. I think you, you know, I was watching all year. I knew it was going to be different without Ben Johnson. But that offense still has all those weapons. So I was waiting for them to look like sort of what they had done and then they did almost like the switch was flipped. I don't see any reason. Myron, this is not what sort of makes the team take off and, and go from here.

Yeah, I mean, I think we're stopped.

Bad play call by Myron. Dolphins are stopped now on the goal line. And boy Quinn is out on the field celebrating. Unbelievable. It'll be now the commanders have the ball on the three.

So two giant games when it comes time for playoffs. Well, I just don't believe them as a Super bowl contender. I think they're very good, but I do not trust Sam Darnold to take me to the super bowl for the same reason I didn't trust him last year. I think if you give me, you give me Jalen Hurts, you give me Jared Goff or you give me Matthew Stafford, you can have Sam Darnold and I'll take one of my three.

[Kevin Clark]

I think last year they ran into a very, very good Detroit team down the stretch, a very, very good Rams team. Like, they ran into some great teams down the stretch where I mean, those teams probably beat most teams that they play because they were kind of hitting their stride. I think in Seattle it's less of a surprise. Like this is a Sam Darnold almost realizing that he can be an elite quarterback. This team has just been rolling for weeks and I think they're going to be a threat to anybody in the nfc. But the Rams have a Matthew Stafford, who three straight weeks with four touchdowns, zero interceptions, an NFL record. Matthew Stafford is playing at an MVP level. It might be him versus Jonathan Taylor right now.

[Myron Metcalf]

He's the favorite right now for the MVP and the odds and it's. I almost wonder if it's like a lifetime achievement award, if he gets it in some ways, but he also deserves it. He has been excellent. I don't think people have paid attention because of how good Daniel Jones has done because of the way Mahomes Allen, all those guys get attention. Matthew Stafford's been out there on the west coast, in my opinion, having the best season of any quarterback in the league. Yeah.

[Kevin Clark]

No, he can win it. And I think this game today is a big thing. Big game for both the Seahawks and the Rams, Lions, Eagles. We're going to find out, I think, who the best team in the NFC is after today.

[Myron Metcalf]

Chad, Chargers and Jaguars. Real quickly, those. These are. These are two wild card teams. I remember I said there's probably eight teams for seven spots. These are two of them. I think it's a massive game today. But Myron, for both teams.

[Kevin Clark]

Yeah. Charges have to protect. Justin Herbert haven't been able to do that. Jack's trying to figure out who they are too, with all the injuries.

I hopefully am better at my job than the commanders and the Dolphins are at theirs for this last half hour. That's the, that's the bar I've set because I'm watching this game and I just can't believe what I'm seeing right now.

Yeah, so I always assume like if you're in Europe and you get one of these games a, you're going to get the Jags for some reason eight times a year. Like I don't know how the Jaguars end up playing eight games in Europe every year, but they do. You get a game like this. Okay, Jaden Daniels just heard the Dolphins got a big win over Buffalo, but not a team that people believe in and yet it ends up being a good finish. You have Miami getting stopped at the one yard line, Washington's driving down the field. They miss a field go to win it and then like both teams are trading who can make the bigger mistake. Now we're going into overtime in Madrid. Tied 13 13. Washington Commanders in the Miami Dolphins and Kevin, this turned out to be a more interesting game than I think anyone would have imagined at the start of the day.

[Matt Jones]

Well, listen, I mean the commanders haven't had the season that we thought they were going to have. The Dolphins are a train wreck. And so sometimes mid team, what they say in boxing styles, make fights. Sometimes mid teams can create some magic and that's. Those are the types of games we need to be importing to Madrid.

[Kevin Clark]

Yeah, yeah, I agree. I mean we shouldn't be giving them the premier games. Like again we give them Jacksonville seven times a year. It feels like like Jacksonville, they can stay there. I think we'd be okay with that there.

[Myron Metcalf]

I think Jacksonville would be okay with it. I think the Jaguars would be okay.

[Matt Jones]

The city of Jacksonville. Yeah. Take them.

[Kevin Clark]

Probably would be. And, and this game turned out to be more interesting headed into overtime. We'll see what happens from there. A premier matchup in the NFL. He's Kevin Clark. This is football. Who is the premier team in the nfc, the team to beat.

You've got Lions, Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Huge game for both teams. Obviously, that could have playoff implications when it comes to seating. And I think this one is equally important. Seahawks at Rams. You have Matthew Stafford quietly playing at an MVP level. Four touchdowns, zero interceptions, three consecutive games. No quarterback in NFL history has ever done that. Meanwhile, the Sam Darnold comeback tour continues in Seattle. That offense has proven that it can compete with any team in the league. How do you see this game playing out, Kevin?

[Matt Jones]

You know, I, I, I, you know, it's funny to me because the Rams were my pick to make the super bowl and win the NFC From March on, from the moment Matthew Stafford recommitted to playing because you remember, he almost jump ship there. He commits to playing. And I say the Rams are gonna win the NFC. Reason is because they have Stafford, they have McVeigh, they have the skill guys, they add Devonte Adams and they have this pass rush that has four of the best young pass rushers in the sport. Okay? And that's you win with pass rush in the NFL. And then the moment that it comes time for me to actually pick these things, ESPN PR is kind enough to send out like a form. They put it on the website. Hey, our NFL analysts are picking it. I'm looking at Matthew Stafford and he's in an Airstream trailer getting his back maneuvered on. And I go, I can't. I don't know how old you are. I'm in my 30s. When my back hurts, it hurts for a long time. That is not a temporary thing, okay? I'm a golfer. I understand what happens when a guy who's in his late 30s has a bad back. So I go off it, I move off it. And then immediately when September starts, I go, the Rams are, we thought they were, they're, they're who we thought they were. And I'm upset that I, I, I took it a photo of an Airstream where it's a cryogenic chamber that Matthew Stafford is in getting his back down I'm going to trust the process from now when I see that, that cryogenic chamber. Okay. But the Rams to me have the capability to be the best team in the NFL without a doubt, with the best team in the NFL. And they, they're, they're seven and two. You mentioned four touchdowns, no interceptions the last few, few games. He has an outside chance. I work for OMA Productions. As you mentioned, he's got an outside chance of breaking the record for consecutive games with four passing touchdowns that's currently held by Peyton Manning. So we need him to stop one short of that to keep Peyton Manning's records intact. But it's, it's a special season and I think the Seahawks are on their way. I think Mike McDonald's an awesome coach, but I think this Rams team, man, I'm not sure nationally that we've caught up to what a buzz saw they're capable of being.

[Kevin Clark]

No, I don't, I don't think we have. I mean, he's Kevin Clark. This is football. Omar Productions, Myron Metcalf. Kevin's filling in for Matt Jones. I do think the Rams always do this. They come in quietly, you know. And to your point, preseason we were having real conversations about Jimmy Garoppolo maybe having to be the quarterback for this team for a large chunk of the season if Matthew Stafford couldn't get that back in order. I also think this team deserves a lot of credit for losing a generational talent like Aaron Donald and rebooting this defense with a bunch of young guys that nobody maybe believed in. But the Rams, I think are even more impressive on what they've done on defense, the way they've kind of reconfigured this group. But the Seahawks deserve a lot of praise as well. Sam Darnold was supposed to be a one season thing with the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings didn't think enough of him to sign him for three years. $100 million, which was what he got from Seattle. And now he looks like a guy. Kevin, who found the right system in.

[Matt Jones]

The right coaching staff, without a doubt. And I, I, I'm looking at J. Jackson, Smith and Jigba as one of the best wide receivers in the sport of football. Yeah, I'm looking at their draft picks they've hit on the last two years. I was skeptical on some of it. A guy like Nick Ammon worry from, from South Carolina. Great athlete. Sometimes those guys take a little bit to develop. I haven't seen him miss a beat this year so far. The offensive line is playing better Than maybe we thought as the Dolphins just had an incredible interception on the first play of overtime.

[Kevin Clark]

They.

[Matt Jones]

I was going to say they should win the game, but, like, what do I know? I've said that eight times about both teams in the last five minutes, but I think generally the Seahawks team, to me, they're probably a little early. I think they're probably a little early. I think the talent level in Los Angeles. You mentioned the Aaron Donald replacement. I talked to Lesnie, their GM in the off season, and I asked about that and he said it took five top 100 picks to almost replace Aaron Donald. And that means Jared Verse, that means Braden Fisk, that means all the other guys in. In the front seven. Right now they were just saying, hey, we can't. We're not going to get an Aaron Donald. It's not going to happen. Especially not a pick 14 like the Rams did a decade ago. So what they did instead was say, let's throw bodies to the problem. So athletes are the problem and they. And they got there and they're one of the smartest organizations. And you mentioned maybe it's quieter than other teams, how they operate. I think it's because it's a newer fan base. You know, they've only been in LA for seven years. I don't think their fans are as annoying as some of the other fan bases where, you know, I think a lot of times if a team wins two games in a row there, people are in our mentions saying, why aren't you talking about this team? Yeah, with the Rams, they're a little more chill. They're a little more chill. And I think that's part of why. Why it gets so quiet.

[Kevin Clark]

Dolphins with interception drive down the field. We're going to see what happens at overtime here. Kelly got about 30 seconds before we have to go to break. If you're the 49ers and yes, you got a lot of issues, a lot of injuries and Matt Jones is playing this way. Do you at least have the conversation about what you do there? Even though Brock Purdy is set to return against the Cardinals, you have the.

[Matt Jones]

You have the conversation and maybe, maybe even wait a week and say, hey, let's make sure Brock Purdy is 800 right, like, and not rush him back. I think Purdy's probably a better quarterback than Mac Jones. I think Kyle Shanahan is a really good evaluator of quarterbacks, so I'm going to trust him. But, yes, you have to have that conversation. Also good problem to have. You're able to trade Mac Jones for draft capital to a Carolina to a team like that this off season and I think that that's important too. So you also want to make sure you don't play Mac Jones too much and ruin the ability to get a first or second round pick.

Yeah, I sometimes think that myself, you know, may maybe he's a pride thing. Not sure what. People don't want to mimic us more, but I think it's just the. The system and the culture and what Coach Chronic has in place. And, you know, the guys have really bought in. And we got some great athletes, too. You know, I think, you know, the old stories and narratives always used to be right is Navy isn't as talented as other teams, maybe doesn't have the speed or athleticism and all that. But, you know, we got guys like Alex Tezca, Eli Heidenreich, good games yesterday. My backup, Braxton Woodson came in, had a great game, you know, so all across the board. You know, I think it's been a culture shift and a narrative shift over here at Navy, and, you know, we're taking it in stride.

I'm sure a lot of Navy fans are wondering how you're feeling after leaving that game for a series. Where are you at health wise?

Well, the Bengals are trying to tread water until Joe Burrow gets back around Thanksgiving. Obviously, the Steelers are seeing the Ravens in their rear view mirror. This is getting very, very, very tight. T.J. watt needs one sack to pass his brother's brother, J.J. watts. NFL career sack total of 114 today. I like the Steelers in this one. I think the Bengals are real bad.

[Kevin Clark]

Yeah.

I've been a Steelers fan my entire life, so give me Pittsburgh, Ohio.

Listen, I like going with the team that you love. I think, you know, obviously we watch Aaron Rodgers come off. I think his worst effort as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. But I think they bounced back against the Bengals today. Give me the Steelers. What's next? Chargers and Jaguars. Kevin.

[Matt Jones]

All right. Jaguars at home in this one, trying to figure out how to get their season back on track. They've really lost their offensive mojo in this one. Give me the Chargers.

[Kevin Clark]

I like it. Blake.

Yeah. I think we had a teammate on the Jaguars, but I just think the Chargers are too powerful. So I'll take. Take Los Angeles.

[Kevin Clark]

I mean, sometimes you gotta pick even though if you got a teammate involved. I definitely understand that. I like the Chargers to win this one, but one big concern is Justin Herbert was getting banged up in that game last week. Even though they beat Pittsburgh. I don't know if they have enough healthy offensive linemen to protect them, but I will take the Chargers as well. What's next? Buccaneers at Bills. Kevin.

All right, one of the games of the day. This is an incredible week. The Bills obviously awful loss in against Miami. The keynote here is that Keon Coleman has been benched for missing a team meeting. So an already thin receiving core for the Bills gets even thinner. Give me the Bucks, Blake.

[Blake Horvath]

I think. I think Buffalo has to bounce back. So I'm going to take the Bills.

[Kevin Clark]

Yeah. It's hard to imagine the Buffalo Bills losing at home after what happened against Miami. I don't know how to explain what happened against Miami. Couldn't get the run game going. I think that will happen today. The Bucks are hungry as well coming off that loss against the Patriots. But give me the Bills to win at home. What's next? Bears and Vikings? What you got, Kevin?

[Matt Jones]

Awesome matchup here. Obviously. 6 and 3 Chicago Bears are making a playoff run in a first year coach Ben Johnson. Caleb Williams did just enough to win and cost Brian Dable his job, by the way, last week.

Give me the Bears in this one to keep it rolling.

I was on the sidelines for Minnesota Vikings Ravens last week for ESPN Radio and they just look like a team that was out of sync. I think the Bears go on the road and they win this game against Minnesota today. What's next Texans and Titans?

[Matt Jones]

Kevin I went to University of Miami, so I will make no comments on Cam Ward and the Titans and how they're playing. I'm if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. This Texas Team 4 and 5 trying to figure out what's going on with their season this year. Give me the Texans. I don't think the Titans have the capability to upset a team like the Texans.

[Kevin Clark]

Give me what you got. Break.

[Blake Horvath]

Yeah, I think Cam Ward said it earlier in the season, but we're just not very good.

[Myron Metcalf]

So that's one way to put it.

Yeah, Give me the Texans.

Well, it's looking like C.J. stroud won't be available, which is a problem. But I still think the Texans can go on the road and beat the Titans every game. I just wait for Cam Ward to say something after the game about how he needs better players around him. He is making that fairly obvious. What's next? Panthers and Falcons? Kevin we probably got to move a little bit faster, fellas.

[Matt Jones]

Panthers had one of the worst losses in frankly football last week against New Orleans Saints. But I like them on the road. I think the Falcons are a little bit lost right now. Panthers bounce back.

[Blake Horvath]

Blake yeah, I'm a Panthers believer. So you're the Panthers.

[Kevin Clark]

I mean, this is one of those weird games if you follow the Falcons that they somehow find a way to win. Like it doesn't make sense. They haven't looked great for a month but then they still won. And I also think maybe the Panthers are trying to figure some things out as well. Give me the Falcons to win this one. What's next? Packers at Giants on ESPN Radio. Kevin, what you got?

[Matt Jones]

Interim coach for the Giants. I think they're more concerned with who's going to be their head coach going forward. Jackson Dart is out. Packers dropped a lot of passes, looked hopeless on offense against Eagles, but they will not look hopeless today. Give me the Packers Blake.

You know when Jameis Winston we trust so give me the job.

You know what I feel like in Blake I'm sure can relate to this. When Jordan Love starts to force things, everything looks out of rhythm for Green Bay and If they don't do that, I think they could be a really good team on the road. I think you'll see that version of the Packers. Give me Green Bay to win. What's next? Seahawks at Rams. Big game. Kevin, what you got?

Awesome matchup. One of the match. One of the matchups of the season so far. We already talked about the Rams last segment. I love this team. I think they're gonna win the nfc. Give me the Rams.

I think you can't look past what you have each each week, right. And big game coming up versus Memphis. And so it's just about taking care of your business week by week and not looking for forward too much. And so, you know, if we can take care of our business every week, put ourselves in the best position, right? And yeah, just take care of our business. Right. We can't control what the teams do, so we've got to take care of our business each week and then hopefully that some of our efforts results in a good outcome.
