And my thing is still 0 to 1. I just think, I just think that your life changes in a way when you have your first child that cannot be explained by anything like it is. And I mean this in the most positive way and also some negative ways. There is a disruption to your Life when you have your first child, because they are now it, right. They are your priority. That is it. It is that child. No matter what happens, you now have to plan your travel around it. You bring everything everywhere. You are always. It is always child first.

Do you feel. Do you feel as though two is like weighing on you or two is just like, oh, add another person?

But I feel like this is actually going to be so easy and actually it's going to make me like, take a step back because I literally going to birth the child and go through postpartum. So I'm like, oh, this is actually going to be easy. Like what I'm doing right now is hard.

It felt good to have a second. It felt good to have a second because, number one, I was like, okay, we've. We officially achieved not having an only child, which I fully respect. People who choose to do that. That was not something I felt re. I felt like having a sibling growing up was really, really important to me and how I became who I am and my relationship with my sister has shaped me for sure. So as soon as we had a second child, there was this relief of like, okay, we don't have an only child, which is so silly.

I like one. Have you heard the phrase one is chic, two is a lifestyle?

No, no, but I, I mean, I can see that two, I mean, two. Like, the other thing is having one

child is harder than two for sure.

Because, well, the, the difference of that is like, you're having one child is always going to be your first child. So then you're learning everything. You're buying, in our case, five different bassinets because she won't pick one. The second comes along and she sleeps in the. In the little mini crib next to the bed the day that she came home. So like you just. But. But it knocks off this sense of. I swear, I always say, I swear to God, newborns smell fear. They can smell it on you. They're like, you're nervous. I don't know why you're nervous, but now I'm nervous and then everything goes to. And that's what happened with our first. And when our second came, I was like, I've already done the sleepless. I've already done the like, sleep deprivation torture that I truly believe is one of the worst Forms of torture. And there was just like, all of these initiation moments into motherhood where I'm like, I already did that. So if it happens again, I know I can do it.

Absolutely. Like, nothing is scary at this point. Like, there's no really unknowns. There is only a known. I would say would be like, a colicky baby. That actually would terrify me.

I. I will say, I think. I think it's important to note that one of the unknowns is that you don't know them yet. That is a big one, because everyone loves to ask me, and I'm so sorry if you were gonna ask me this ahead of time. Everyone always says to me, you have four kids. Tell me your advice. And I'm like, I actually can't, because my advice won't work for your kids. Like, I always said, like, people are always like, you must really know what you're doing. And I'm like, every single one of my kids is different to a degree that if I gave you advice that was associated with my first, it would not work for my third, and my advice for my second wouldn't work for my fourth. And so if I give you advice on my children, maybe it's like a crapshoot. Something might stick.

But there's. And that is. Honestly, that is having our second. That was one of the most exciting things to realize. You realize with your first, like, they're innately themselves.

But then you meet your second, and you're like, wow, you guys are completely different human beings. It is one of the most beautiful realizations. Oh, I loved it so much. That was. That's so much fun.

And she won't be. And it's going to be so cool because then you get to, like, really learn her. And I know that earlier in your pregnancy, you had posted about, like, I don't know if. I don't know if this was public story or private story. So you can block. You can cut me out if you need to, but you posted earlier on something to the effect of, like, having one child. You think to yourself, with your second, how are you supposed to love them the way you love your first? Because it's your first child. The way that they are different only emphasizes the fact that you love them independently and enough.

Let me tell you, this is so. This is so niche. This is. I love that I'm. I'm talking to you as if, like, by. This is so. What is the term for when you. The parasocial relationship. I. We just had a virus in our house for I. You. Not almost two weeks. Okay. Now we are, knock on wood. I'm not gonna. We are, I think, on the other side of it and are. But these are the moments where I'm like, huh, Four kids was a choice. Like, those are the moments where I'm like, I love the chaos. I absolutely love everything else. We are very much in a survival situation because four children. And also not only four children. Four children, two parents with chaotic schedules, a lot of moving on.

We have six and under. Our youngest is about to turn one, so we have six, five, three about to be one years old. One year old.

We're definitely in survival. But I say survival on, like, the grand scheme, right? Because we're all learning. Our second right now is in a phase of, like, very big feelings. Huge, massive feelings. Big thing. This morning I looked at my husband and was like, just don't even look at. Don't make eye contact. Don't look at.

I can't make eye contact with my daughter while she eats or else she'll stop.

Yes. Don't. Don't do that. That's ridiculous. How dare you look at them in the eyes. My oldest this morning woke up and was like, we're gonna make this morning's chore cleaning the living room. This child is 6 years old. Not one morning of her life has that happened. I was like, I checked the sky pigs were not flying. I was like, this is insane. This is so insane. This is insane. Yeah, but she's. I mean, we are definitely in survival, but there are these moments that are just. They're. They're fulfilling enough to. To call it thriving.

But I would say after this virus, surviving barely the sickness.

I'm sure with four Too. It's like, oh, it hits one, and then it's just like domino, and you know it. You know, I would have.

One on Friday. No, no, we had one on Friday, one the next Wednesday, two on Friday. I was like, can we. Could we just, like, do. Could we get an every other day situation here? What's happening? Yeah. And not. I'm gonna. I'm gonna say this as vaguely as possible because I have anxieties associated with this activity, but you and I would be on the same page about the type of illness we just went through. I'm not gonna say that out loud, but you catch my drift.

Severe fear. Severe fear. Severe fear. I'm using the word fear, and I mean it intentionally. Fear.

That's why it's. That fear is why I was scared to get pregnant.

Yeah. I. Yep. You should. You should see me in labor. The minute I'm like, huh, Is that. Can I get some Zofran?

Zofan? I. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this. Zofran is my favorite drug. I called my doctor just, like, every once in a while, I'm just like. I feel a tickle in my throat. Like, can you just write me a prescription?

I think that is the. One of the most beautiful relationships I've ever heard.

I. That. You should have seen me my first C section. I heard that people throw up sometimes. Sorry. I should said the word.

I. I heard that sometime some people often throw up during C sections, which, in my head, I'm like, how does that work?

If you're numb from the chest down, that feels like.

Stomach should be hanging out. She should be.

She should be chilling. Like, can you just hold on to my. Like, you're already inside of my body. Can we hold on to my stomach so that it doesn't come up? But I. The relationship I had with my anesthesiologist, because he's the one up by your head. He's pushing all the good stuff. I. I look at him, and I was like, I have a fear that I'm going to get sick. Push the Zofran. Push it. He literally, I. They're pushing on my stomach, trying to push my daughter out of my ribs, and he's like, hey, by the way, I just pushed some more Zofran. I go, thank you. That was the best moment of my life.

You're like, I could kiss you on the mouth right now. Isaac, hurry up. Kiss him on the mouth.

And it's crazy because I thought, oh, like, when I become a parent, surely that phobia will go away.

Like, no, that was cute. No, that was.

My daughter got sick for the first time. And the way that I was closing my eyes while rubbing her back. And Isaac's the one with, like, catching everything.

of parenting this far. Parenting through my phobia. Let me tell you, r. The first one that got hit. She's our sweetest child. She is just, like, to her core, sweet. Like, one day down the road, she's gonna be in trouble because she will be the child who, like, her friends will say, hey, we're gonna go out and do this dangerous thing. And she's gonna be like, well. And they're gonna be like, but it's fun. And she's like, okay, if it's fun. Like, she just can't help herself. Okay. She's sweet as can be. And in the middle of going, right. She's in the middle of it. I'm telling her how sorry I am that she's feeling sick. And I must have had a tone where, I shit you not, this child is mid go looking me in the eyes like, why the fuck are you so sad? And I was like, yep, she ain't gonna talk about me in therapy. She will. And I'm okay with it. It's fine. It's okay.

It'll make her funny. Like, I.

She is. I think she's one. I think she might be our funniest job. Yeah, it's. I feel bad. I felt really bad about that one. Yeah.

I. The parenting while sick and I. I heard the rumors before I had kids is. It's crazy. I have to say that. Plural S Now it's crazy, though, that I'm like, oh, I'm not getting used to that. She's a potato for a few months, so doesn't count. But I heard that, like, oh, kids are always sick, especially around school age. And I'm like, my daughter's not even in school, and I feel like it's a revolving door of, like, just welcoming.

Yes. It's kind of trash. Honestly, I think that we should all do better about keeping our sick kids home and washing our hands. How do I. Where do we put a billboard up for that? Wash your hands. That's what I want to tell people.

I mean, all of it. Any of it. I. Yeah, bring back masks. Like, honest. Don't get me started. I just went. We just went to the Olympics and my husband is not a germaphobe, which is how we. One of the many ways we balance each other. And I'm on this flight and I get in this plane and right before they suction that door shut, I was like, masked up and my husband turns around and he's like. And I was like, don't look back here. You look forward. Nobody's talking to you. Don't even look back. Yeah, I'm like cloroxing my entire seat. I like it. It brings me. It's helpful. Okay. It's not harmful. Leave me alone. Don't. Yeah, and I'm gonna mask. You know what a plane is? A tin. A tin can of breath. That's what I believe it is. And I'm not breathing yours. Thank you.

Well, because. Yeah, I saw you at super bowl and then we talked about how you were going home for a week and then you went to the Olympics.

Yes. And I think that that set me, like, I. I didn't think it was going to send me over the edge, but I got home. In fact, I realized I lost my shit in this exact moment when we're. We went to Super bowl for six days, then we went to Italy for another six days. And then we're sitting on the tarmac for three hours, about to go on our 15 hour flight back to LA, and we're sitting for three hours in addition to the 15 hours that we're about to fly. And I look over at my husband and I said, when we get home, I'm done. I'm done.

Isn't that funny how you just have like a breaking point where you're like, this is it. This is the moment. The universe wanted me to feel this.

B (21:07)

It wanted me to and I felt it. And I never hope to touch that ever again. Because I think that. I think that I almost like, I hate how people are like, oh, you're pregnant. Like, you should really take it easy. I'm like, don't tell me what to do. I don't like being told what to do. I don't like people thinking I'm weak because I'm pregnant, but I am. In that moment. I was like, I'm tired. And it is because I am pregnant. I am with child. And I was like, wow, I'm kind of eating my words a little bit, trying to prove people wrong, right?

No, I think that that is. And I'm sure you feel it now, especially because you are towards the end of your pregnancy and it's very like, I would guess, obvious. Yeah, right. Today's the day. Probably obvious that you are pregnant to people to a degree where people are now like, oh, let me get that for you. Oh, let me carry that. Oh, let me do this. Oh, let me do that. When people would tell me while I was pregnant in all four of my pregnancies, oh, you, you shouldn't be doing that. I'm like, you should back up before I punch you. You should back off. Because I actually now I'm pissed and now I want to do it even more.

Okay. I need to talk about something that has been carrying me through pregnancy. Because getting dressed right now, not exactly a fun experience. I have a bowling ball for a stomach, but like I'm in that phase where nothing fits the same. I don't want anything tight. I also just refuse to give up and just like let go. It's just chaos. Oh, well, sometimes I have just this, like, underlying anger when people want to give unsolicited advice. So most comments that are unwelcome advice end up with me feeling like I could fix this really quick with a punch in the face. I don't. I really. I think it's just always. I think it's. I think it's people offering that advice that's not helpful. Right. It's like the unproductive. It is the socks, it is the hat. It is. They shouldn't be out in this weather or things like that where you're just like, actually, we're going from the car 10 steps into this Dunkin Donuts so I can get what call what mom calls sanity juice, AKA a coffee. I need you to get so far away from me that you're actually in a different zip code. It's things like that. Or like, honestly. And I really do my best not to be this person because I think sometimes it's meant in a light hearted way and it doesn't land that way. But the just weight comments.

Are really hard. They're hard when you've been through that phase of motherhood and someone else is going through it. Because again, sometimes it's meant in a light hearted way. But being a mom who has felt pretty much every phase at this point of joy. The pits. Postpartum experience. There are times to make jokes with a mom and sometimes you don't hit it. And I ju. I really do my best to not do like the. Just wait in a negative way. Just wait until this sleep regression. Just wait until they're teething. Just wait until that. So when people say that to me, I think it hits my eardrum in a sharp way.

You're also like, I have four kids. Like, you think I don't know, like, what's right next?

Been there, done that. But yeah, I think, I think the just weight comments are hard. I think, I think that I try to give people as much grace as I can muster up at the time, but they're hard.

How do you do you still get the comment, like, oh, like he never got his boy all the time.

A (29:45)

Literally all the time. Then I, I recently made the comment that the people who ask whether or not Wyatt, our oldest's name, is a family name, because they can't fathom that we chose Wyatt for a girl. Out of the universe, out of the spectrum of names that we could have chosen for a girl. Those people and the people who say, are you going to try for a boy? They're usually a Venn diagram. Their Venn diagram is a circle. And I, because it's this older generation of like, that's the only way to feel fulfilled. You'd. You wouldn't choose a boy name for a girl because you thought it was a nice name and you thought it was powerful and that she would be a boss and that people would answer her emails faster. You had to have done that because it was a fan. You had to have done that because it was a family name. Okay, whatever helps you sleep at night, Susan. That's fine.

I hate boy names. I think boy names are really hard. I've tried coming up with boy names. I actually planned if this was a boy to go into the hospital with three boy names knowing that each sucked a little bit, and I was gonna pick the one that just, like, sucked the. The least and looked like him.

Because I don't like boy names that much.

It's funny, because I think that having four girls who have names that could be boy names end up put. They put us in a little bit of an odd situation. I do. I. We've had. We have some names. The problem is, is, like, some of the names. And I feel like we even talked about this. But when you are naming a child, it's one thing that you have all of the people that you've met in your life. It's a completely different issue that your husband has all the people that he's met in his life. So then you are. It's so many people. I don't even know that we have a boy name selected because we've found out the gender every single time. And I will say both of our dads now. Let me finish this thought before you freak out. To be clear, both of our dads are Edwards. So I think it would be very simple to have a middle name of Edward. Middle. Emphasis on middle. Aggressively middle. Middle. Middle. I cannot say middle enough. Not the first middle.

I was like, we got some girl names that are super cute and trendy, and then we got Edward. Edward.

Little Eddie. No, aggressively. No. I do think we would be able to middle name it with Edward, but other than that, I don't think we ever had a first name figured out for our first before we knew what we were having, why it was meant to be either a boy or a girl, no matter what we were having. Okay, so. But we use that. So. And I. I think. I think that that was a sign that we didn't need to have a boy name after that.

Yeah, exactly. Like, this could work for a boy or girl. I've actually known a few people that have gone into birth with one name, whether it's going to be a boy or girl. And I've always found that a little unique.

I. I mean, we just really liked the name my husband has since, like, since we had Wyatt and named her Wyatt. He has gone on to explain, like, one of his favorite things is asking the question why? And that kids do it all the time. And so the fact that her nickname is why is very, like, special to him. But we just really. I know. We just really loved the name. So like, either way, we were good with it. But, yeah, it is so funny. And I. I do. Like, I know you post about Isaac getting really excited that you guys are having girls. Do you ever get comments, like, in your DMs and stuff that, like, he's faking it or he doesn't actually mean it or he still wants a boy? Because I feel like you have to be fielding the same comments we do.

Absolutely. And I think it was. It was shortly after we announced that we were having our second girl that people were like, oh, like, are you gonna go for a third? Then I'm like, if we go for a third, it would. It wouldn't be because we have, like, a gender preference. In fact, now I would only.

Like, I would have been a little disappointed just because I had grown up with a sister. And Isaac loves, like, he. He just loves the idea of, like, girl dad right now. Third, I'm like, actually, okay, 50, 50. Like, if we had a third boy or girl, I actually would be okay either way. But second, I definitely had, like, a preference. And so when people are like, oh, you can always try for the third, I'm like, we might not now. Now that we have two girls, we might not.

Yes, it is crazy, too. I think there's so people who say that specifically, I think they've forgotten. Like, especially women who have had kids themselves. I think they've forgotten everything that goes into having kids. Like, the idea of looking at someone who is currently pregnant with their second child and saying, like, well, you can always try for a third is like, okay, well, like, I still have to get through this birth. Not every birth is positive, negative. Like, you don't know what. Where it's going to take you. You don't know how they're going to be as a newborn. You don't know what your postpartum experience is going to be and not to be doom and gloom on, you know, the day you're going into labor. But. But, like, my point is, is, like, I've met people who wanted to have kids quickly and they had their first child and had such a traumatic birth or a difficult postpartum season that they were like, you know what? I'll decide when they're three, or I'll decide when they're five if I'm going to have another kid. And so to look at someone and be like, oh, so you can always try for another third. You can always try for a third. Like, you could always kiss my ass. That's another option. It's crazy. It is so crazy to think that people are out here like, planning your life for you and to fulfill what their own need.

Well, that. And I think that's also goes hand in hand with like gender disappointment. If you see somebody like, oh, like I wanted a boy, but like we're having a girl, it's like, that doesn't affect your life. And like, also gender disappointment doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna hate your kid. It's like, oh, like I've talked about

publicly that when we found out that our second was a girl, I cried for 30 minutes straight. 30 minutes.

He even crying having kids.

Guess what the I ended up with. That's my. The second is the one who I said is like the sweetest per. Like the sweet. One of the sweetest people I've ever met in my life. That's what I got. That's what I cried for 30 minutes. And that's the child that I got. And how silly is that? And like, that was balance, right? That was a correction of like, hey, I had that moment of gender disappointment. And really it was me knowing that like, statistically speaking, after having two kids of the same gender, you're more likely to continue having the same gender. And each time consecutively, your chances raise to continue having the same gender. And I have always thought to myself, nothing. The funny thing is like, it's not to make sure that my ex NFL player husband has a boy, a son to raise in the his foot. Like, it's nothing having to do with that. Yes, you he can play. He literally plays catch with our girls. Leave us alone. This. The other side of that is. Is like this. It was a me thing. I and I've even come to terms with once we had our fourth, the idea of like, we've tossed around another kid a long time ago. Like, I've always said I wanted four kids, room for one pleasant surprise. In other words, like maybe five kids. I don't right now, I'm not in a space to even come close to that decision. But what I know is, is when we had our fourth, I did have this moment of grieving where I was like, there is a very likely situation where I do not get to meet a mini version of my husband. So it had nothing to do with like fulfilling this prophecy of like Giving him a son.

It was like football.

Yeah. It was like this moment of like, oh, I don't get to meet a mini him. Like, we don't, we don't get to meet whoever that person would be. And that's okay. Like, it's, it's okay. Like, it doesn't make me love my daughters less. It doesn't make me less excited that I have four daughters. I love that I have four daughters at this point. If we had had three girls and one boy, I would have been like, is he gonna be okay?

Isaac actually talks about that all the time.

Really? Like, what does that even look? And like you get what you get, right? Like that's the pregnancy journey and the family building journey that we've had thus far is like, you get what you get. And so I'm not. There are degrees of like a disappointment here for 30 minute cry and all that stuff. But like, you get what you get and you, when you meet them, you're like, that was the dumbest thing I could have ever thought.

Absolutely. In fact, one of my close friends, like, wanted a girl really bad and she was having her third kid and she was like, I'm done after this. And she was like, I'm going to wait until birth to find out if it's a boy or girl. She had two boys and she was like, I really want a girl. And she was like, I'm going to wait until birth because there's no way I can have gender disappointment when I meet my baby for the first time. And then she ended up looking because she was like, I actually don't want to go through that. I don't want to even have the slightest chance that I might be disappointed. And she had her third boy and she was like. And I cried and I had my day. And then on his birthday, I was ecstatic and I was excited to meet him because I was getting a newborn. And I thought that was hilarious because I was like, oh, I would need to know because the chance you like knowing.

I love knowing who they are. Like, I love. No knowing, like being able to refer to them as them in there. And also I am impatient in that way. I. I wish I could. My friend literally just had her second. It's the second time that she's gone all the way through pregnancy and didn't find out. And I am the friend that's like, just give me your obese number. I'll talk to him real quick. I won't even tell you. I won't even tell you. I'll Keep green.

They're like, oh, it's the biggest surprise. I'm like, it's still a surprise if I look earlier.

I have been told I have birthing hips and I would like to see if I do.

They were fudgeing delicious. And that's all I cared about. I didn't care that they were helping anything.

Oh, you wonder the worst part when they say that you. It's going to end the way it started. They don't just mean the act. They mean what I would refer to while trying to get pregnant as. It is not. It is not.

No. Well, there, there have been. There have been. I will tell you. Some ways of going about it are better than others. Yeah. Yeah. Any pregnant woman who gets to like the 39 week block and you're still trying to convince that baby to come out come hell or high water, you're like, yeah, that you're, that's not gonna work. They're gonna come out concussed. You need to stop.

I saw that. I saw how her head was so far into my pelvis. I went like, no, that's.

Isn't that crazy? The. Well, I will say it's validating because how much, how much do you feel at some point with our first. I always joked around her hands were always on her face when every single ultrasound, her hands were up here. She. At some point, very late in my pregnancy, maybe like 38 weeks, I kept saying, I can feel her hands moving. And my husband was like, that's not even a thing. Right. I think it, it was like 36 weeks, maybe we've been in for a size scan or something like that. And she had her hands up here and when her fingers were going like this, I you not. I could feel it so far into my pelvis that I was like, it feels like she is about to stick a finger out and wave. Why it was this? The sensations are something that you cannot explain to someone who hasn't felt them.

Isaac gets nauseous and I think it is the funniest ever. So I will literally grab his hand while he's falling asleep and I'll put it on my stomach. And she, she has like, she's like curved around, so there's a foot indent permanently on my stomach. And he'll feel, like, literally the toes. And he's like. And I'm like, how do you think I feel? Put your hand back there. How do you think I feel?

I can feel that from the inside. Imagine that. It's.

B (55:06)

It's the wild alien.

A (55:08)

Like, people used to get so disturbed with the fact that I would call it. It felt like an alien. And they'd be like, that is a. A baby. And I'm like, no, but it is moving around in me like I am its cocoon. Okay? And it is weird whether you like it or not.

B (55:27)

And it's during, like. Like, times that I'm like, okay, can we not do it? Like, we're trying to get the baby out and she's moving. I'm like, this is always. We're gonna need to halt this because this feels like.

A (55:38)

Hey, she's actually awake. Feels weird that she's here for this.

We'll wait until all of our kids are asleep for this one. You had all like, oh, my God. Isaac called it not. He said a normal birth. I was like, oh, you're gonna get canceled for that one, buddy. You had all vaginal births, correct?

Yes, I did. Well, induced. All vaginal.

B (56:07)

Did you. Do you have any tips? I know you tried your five.

A (56:12)

Yes. Let me think. Okay. My. My number one tip is to trust your labor and delivery nurse. They do. They go. They labor with so many people. My sister actually talks about with her first that she had a really difficult time. He was sort of stuck. And the doctors came in and were sort of like, hey, we think maybe a C section. And her nurse actually was like an older nurse. Not old, but older and more experienced. And she actually advocated for my sister because she knew my sister really wanted to try everything in her power to have a vaginal birth. And her nurse advocated for her to be like, hey, I think we still have three positions that we could try. If you give us 45 minutes and she can maneuver in the way that she needs to, then I think that maybe we can get this baby out vaginally. And they were able to do that. My nurses, personally have been incredible, and they're like the best coaches. They know exactly what could happen, what's going to happen. They can explain it to you if you ask. Like, if you're the person that wants to be informed, they'll explain everything to you. And they've seen. I cannot emphasize enough. They've seen so many labors. And I say labors specifically because they're there for all of the laboring.

B (57:37)

A (57:38)

And I feel like that's really important also. A fat epidural in your back. I'm a big advocate for just. I want to be numb from my nipples to my toes.

B (57:51)

I would say I'm scrunchy, whatever that means. Like, there are things that I'm like, a little crunchy mom about the second I get to the hospital. Give me the drugs. I don't. I don't go to the dentist and get a tooth pulled without a little numbing shot and a little laughing gas. In fact, I'm requesting the laughing gas if I'm not getting a tooth pulled.

Yes. I got an hour to kill. Like. Yes.

I. I just feel like I've said it a million times, but I mean it wholeheartedly. You've built a human being and they are about to exit a tunnel that is not necessarily human sized. You know what I mean? So although our bodies are built to do it, why not give yourself the most, I don't know, enjoyable experience?

So this is. Thank you so much for bringing this up because this is another thing that I do have a strong opinion on advice about. I looked it up ahead of time because I am the person. I want all of the information I want actually the worst case scenario, that could happen. So that when that doesn't happen, I'm like, we made out like a thief. Okay, you get on the edge of the bed, you scoot your butt all the way back to the edge of the bed where the anesthesiologist tells you to. And you sit butterfly, Specifically butterfly. They'll ask you to sit like crisscross applesauce. Or they'll ask you to just dangle your legs over the edge of the bed. I saw ahead of time. You get sort of a better curve to your spine and stretch if you sit butterfly. So feet bottom of, your feet together, knees out to the side, and then you roll yourself over your belly. So, like, head hanging, roll yourself over top of your belly. If you need to put a pillow against your chest to sort of hug into, you can do that. But I found that that opened up my spine in a way that gave the anesthesiologist their best chance to get in there.

And it worked on both sides.

So here's the thing.

Your nurse. This is where your. This is where your labor and delivery nurse comes in, can watch your monitor to tell the anesthesiologist when an. When a contraction is coming so that they can hold. So that they're not trying to go in while you are having a contraction. That while you're coming out of the contraction, they can then start the action so that they have that full minute to two minute window depending on how far apart your contractions are at that point. That is very helpful because it just allows you to maintain that stretch and your positioning and not necessarily screw yourself for setting them up for failure.

Yeah, Inserting it vaginally. They're just with the primrose oil.

Just like, there has to be an easier way. And they're like, oh, yeah, Like C section. Like, oh, yeah, Never mind.

You know what will lead. Do you know what will lead to a C section? Like, are you just. Are you just going with the flow, hoping for a V back and then see what happens? Or. Okay.

But, like, at the first sign of, like, like, I want to avoid an emergency C section, so I get the first sign of, like, my nurse doctor, which my doctor is very probate pro V back. He's, like, known in the state of California as, like, being his. I think his success rate is, like, really high. So we love him, and it's a man, which is crazy. But, like, I love him because I'm like, he doesn't count, like, my feelings. He's he's very, I don't know, forward. He's a California character. How else do you describe him? But I feel like at the first sign of like, like your hip or something, I'm like, okay, let's just go in. Let's just open the hatch. It's been opened before.

I think you got it. I will say, is there going to come a point where you. You went. Okay, maybe this is what I was thinking of. Not me recalling all of your birth story. You went into labor the day you were supposed to be.

Yes. Like, I'm fully. And if I don't, I'm fully. Like, we're inducing at 39 weeks because there is no shot that I'm letting that baby touch ten pounds. There is no.

Coming from someone who, after my first child, and it being what we'll call an unproblematic birth, I was then cleared to schedule an induction at 39 weeks every single other time. You're damn right I did. Yes, I did. And having like mid to top range 8 pound babies was enough for you to validate, like, you don't have to validate that to anybody. You do what you need to do. I. I will say, if you do end up inducing, I'm going to tell you my timeline here. I show up to the hospital. I. I get whatever. I get my IV so that I can make sure that I can get that Zofran whenever I need it, because that hits wick. And then you get your ptocin and you get it moving and you start contracting and I stand up laboring because that feels way better than laying in a bed and just letting the pain crash over you like waves. And you sit and bounce on the ball. And here's the key. This is my key. Always, every single time. I don't know if I've ever said this publicly. My key was always go in labor for a little while, do 15 minute intervals. Can I make it another 15 minutes? Yes, I can. Until I. I want to go to the bathroom on the toilet. That's what I want to do. Okay. I want one last poop. That's what I want. And then get that fat needle in my back. I'm not getting out of bed until this baby's out of my uterus, and that's what I do now. Have I. Have I shit during labor? I couldn't tell You. I'm fairly certain that my entire team of doctors and my husband would lie straight to my face, but from what I know, I have not. And for some reason, that's a badge of honor.

I have a bad. Which I've made this public, which I probably shouldn't have, but I did not for 10 days after I gave birth last time. Yes, the chances that I poop on the table are low because the. The chances I poop in general are low.
