The following podcast is a Dear Media Production. What's up, guys? Welcome back. Or welcome to Sunday Sports Club podcast with Allison Cooch. Happy Halloween. It's spooky season. Or should I say spooky day.
B
What are you dressed up as?
A
That's a good question. I'm sporting a brown cardigan and striped pants. I'm dressed up as somebody who didn't get a lot of sleep.
B
Major loss on our part. We should have came dressed up. But it's all right. We'll let it go.
A
Yeah. Really unfortunate, but we don't have a lot of funding for this podcast. No, I'm kidding. Am I? I don't know. But happy Halloween. Welcome to this week's huddle where you can get your digestible up to date sports news. And it's very spooky because we have a boy in the podcast. So this is Scotty's first Halloween and I just have to say I got her a few costumes.
B
We. Have we not seen any of them? I haven't seen one costume.
A
We. I've seen all of them. You haven't seen any of them?
B
I think I saw one and I know what it is.
A
I know you saw it.
B
I'm excited to see her in it, though.
A
Yeah. It makes me sad because I. It was supposed to be a surprise. You know what else is spooky? The fact that our daughter right now is moving and we're trying to film a podcast. Spooky season's over and she's back to sleep. What's up, guys? Welcome to the huddle. A lot of stuff is happening right now in the football world. So. So let's talk about it. And let's start with Tua is back, the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.
B
He's back to a.
A
Talk to him.
B
Talk to he. No, he's. They need him. They're at a crucial point in their season where they got to get their offense rolling. So it's. It's good that he's back.
A
But they lost.
B
I know, but still, it's just. It's a work in progress. It's nice that Tua's back. I. Regardless of what happened with the game, like it matters that their offense is starting to get a flow or should start to get a flow.
A
Yeah. Except in the third quarter, Tua went for a 13 yard gain and he slid and the crowd cheered. Well, I'm sure they cheered because he got 13 yards.
B
Yeah. He's at a point in his career where people are going to watch every single hit that he gets. And so they're going to be like, yeah, please slide.
A
Tyreek Hill suggested that the crowd was cheering because he slid.
B
Absolutely. It's kind of crazy that, like, every football fan is in agreeance kind of that, like, to you shouldn't play.
A
Also, there's no way. All of them, all of them want him to.
B
I think a lot of my.
A
I think all of them want him to be careful.
B
I think a lot of them do. Also, a quarterback in college, blanking on who it is, I really would like to know for this podcast, but he just retired because he had too many concussions. He had five concussions and decided to retire. College literally just announced it.
A
It was a college quarterback or college football player. Just.
B
No, it's a college quarterback.
A
Wow.
B
Yeah. Oh, this is going to drive me crazy not knowing who it was, but we'll continue. But yeah, literally just retired in the comment section was all like, hey, Tua, take notes.
A
Dang.
B
Yeah, it's sad. Oh, Michigan's quarterback.
A
Really?
B
Yeah. A Michigan quarterback, man.
A
You know, that's happened before. When I was in college, one of my friends, ex boyfriends who was the quarterback for Michigan, he got hit really hard and never played again.
B
It's smart. I've. I've had one documented concussion. I've definitely had more concussions than one, but it's scary. Like, I've never been knocked out like that. Never had a situation like that. I would definitely consider retiring now.
A
Do you think Two is going to avoid putting himself in situations that might result in him hitting his head?
B
I think. Well, I think the answer is yes, but I think it's tough as a competitor. You're playing in a gladiator sport. Like, it's physical.
A
Gladiator sport? No, I'm just picturing grown men wearing sandals.
B
Oh, man. Wearing thong sandals. It is a gladiator sport. It's physical. You got to put yourself on the line. So it's going to be tough for him to fully, like, be in the moment and not, you know, go for the kill.
A
I don't know. It sounds like he. He's like, I'm gonna do it anyways.
B
I think we'll see how it plays out. But I think he's got to be really careful.
A
So what is it with quarterback sliding? Is that. Does it look bad on them? Does it. Are people okay with it?
B
No. Teams want to protect their quarterbacks. I mean, it's like if you're a head coach, you're not telling your quarterback to just drop his shoulder and run into somebody. You're like, get down. Get out of the way. Stop dropping roll.
A
So do you. You don't think a coach would be mad that his quarterback slides?
B
No. Never, ever, ever. No, Literally never. Unless.
A
Not even unless.
B
It's like he doesn't want, like, I mean, go score if you can, but I think, like, more importantly, like, you have a long season, you want your quarterback to be healthy. We've seen it many times. There can be a huge drop off from the first. What if it's a game winning play then? I mean, you got to do. These are extreme situations. If it's super, I'm testing you, Isaac.
A
I want to see how much you know.
B
Yeah. If it's make or break for your season. Yeah, whatever. Go get the first down. Go score. But you got to be smart as a quarterback.
A
Does sliding, not. Or not sliding make you a good quarterback or a bad quarterback?
B
No. Neither. It's just neutral.
A
It's just.
B
It's a smart thing to do. Yeah.
A
Speaking of things that are irrelevant, but very relevant, because the amount of uncrustables I consumed when I. And this is not an ad.
B
It should be. It should be.
A
Please. Because I love me.
B
And I still do. I feel like if you're having a bad day, I'm like, gopuff uncrustables.
A
Yeah. I really do love uncrustables and so does the NFL, which I didn't even know. I feel like you talked a little bit about this last year. Never on the podcast, though. So what is it with the uncrustable lore?
B
Well, we're not really allowed to talk about, like, the uncrustable situation.
A
Wait, why?
B
They just don't like guys talking about it.
A
Wait, really?
B
No, totally joking.
A
I was like, what is in the lore of these uncrustables?
B
So it's just. Guys just love uncrustables. Like, I tear it. Well, I didn't really tear them up, but I. I had some dark days where, like, you know, why? Didn't have a good game. And I'm like, I. Please, just drown me in uncrustables.
A
Right. Why?
B
They're just. I don't know. They must have a contract because they're. They're everywhere. It's unlimited uncrustables. I get grape every time, too. You're a strawberry galley. I get grape every time.
A
It depends on the mood.
B
I'm graping it up. Give me all of them. I mean, I was like, I would get two to three max. I wasn't overdoing. It.
A
And they have them like where Unlimited.
B
If you. You get on a plane, they're all. They're in a bin, just ready. Really huge bin of uncrustables, half frozen. So it's like perfect. It's a perfect bite every time. But yeah, and a huge bin.
A
And so these grown men just finished playing this gladiator sport and they're eating an uncrustable.
B
Tearing up uncrustables with the boys, but they don't have them. Like, I don't know that I've ever been on a team where they just had uncrustables, like in the fridge, like available during the week. It's really just.
A
Oh, it's really just around the game.
B
It's really a travel thing.
A
That's interesting. Denver Broncos ate the most 700 a week. Isaac.
B
No, I knew that though. I. I've been doing research on it.
A
Yeah. Well, that's a lot of uncrustables.
B
That's actually a crazy amount when you think break it down per person.
A
Do you think I. I could eat 700? No. Well, yeah, I was going to say I could definitely eat 700 in a year. How long do you think it would take me to eat 700 uncrustables?
B
If I'm thinking pregnant alley or regular alley?
A
Pregnant.
B
Pregnant. Ally, I think you're going through 700 in a month and a half.
A
No, like, literally.
B
Yeah, that's. Wow, that's actually so sketchy.
A
The amount of times I've woken up in the middle of the night. Third trimester, my feet are swollen. I'm like, every time I gotta empty the bladder, I gotta refill somehow and that's an uncrustable.
B
Give me an uncrustable. Take off the crust.
A
No, literally. Why do uncrustables have crust? Because don't you dare tell me that they're. No crust. Because why? There's bread on the outside and you have to bite a few times to get to the juice. Now can we just make.
B
You're taking small bites. I'm one bite and I'm. Ha. The half.
A
You know that bite of the uncrustable where you take a bite and it's just all bread and a little bit of peanut butter?
B
No, that's. You. My bites are big.
A
Your mouth is the size of an.
B
I'm shark baiting that thing. I'm. I'm eaten half of it in one day.
A
How many do you think you could eat in one sitting?
B
10 plus.
A
That's a lie.
B
No, I could probably do 10. I think I could uncomfortably eat 10 uncrustables.
A
I've. I know for a fact I've eaten three or four in one sitting, so I'm going to say 12.
B
You used to go through a box of 12 in a couple days.
A
In a couple days, Isaac. I've been. I. I been at the grocery store.
B
And them boys would just be in the freezer. Just. I would order boxes at a time.
A
Yeah. Why don't you do that anymore?
B
I mean, I can.
A
I'm acts of service. And here Isaac is not getting me uncrustables anyways. The Bengals and Saints ate the least amount. Only 50. 50.
B
50 a week, I think is, like, very reasonable.
A
No. For the entire team.
B
Well, you got to think it's 50 when they travel. It's not during the week. So it's like, in two days, they're eating 50.
A
Yeah. What is it with the Denver Broncos that altitude is really getting to them? They're like, give me the uncrustables.
B
It's like. It's like drinking. Like. They're like, you know, like, when you drink it, altitude, they're like. It gets you faster. They're like. These uncrusties hit different.
A
At altitude.
B
They can't stop eating.
A
It's actually so crazy because they. Here's a halftime food fun fact. It's a requirement in the NFL's game operation manual that each home team provide three dozen sliced oranges for three dozen. How many is that? Three times 12 is 12.
B
I'm just letting you figure it out. The answer is 36.
A
But 36 oranges, it's not that many sliced for half time.
B
We tear up those oranges, though.
A
We've seen the oranges.
B
Yeah, I've seen. I've seen them in person.
A
Have you eaten them?
B
I've eaten a couple in person.
A
That's crazy.
B
I'm. Listen, I'm down bad if I'm eating the orange at halftime.
A
The home team also has to provide for the other. For the other team. 500 pounds of ice, three cartons of gum, one large pot of coffee. One large.
B
I've drank coffee every. Every time I go to the same.
A
Only one pot.
B
I mean, I. Yeah, I don't know how it works.
A
150 washcloths and three dozen nanners.
B
The nanners. Three dozen nanners doesn't feel like enough. Like, I feel like you need at least five dozen nanners.
A
Don't bananas help with cramping?
B
Yeah. Potassium.
A
Hmm. Weird.
B
Yeah. Never caught a camp. A cramp. In a game, by the way, ever. Never cramped up during a game or at practice. I'm just not a cramp guy. Doesn't matter. But continue.
A
You're cramping my style right now. It was national tight end this week.
B
Tight end. It was national tight end.
A
It was national tight end day this week.
B
Tight end showdown. It was a great weekend for tight ends.
A
Like, why is there a national day for tight ends?
B
They have. They have one of the most complicated.
A
I'm sorry, I'm bored talking about them. Go ahead.
B
They have one of the most complicated jobs in football. They block. You have to be a great blocker to be a good tight end. You have to be a great route runner. You have to be able to catch. You have to be able to know offenses, defense. Like you got to know everything.
A
Always the fourth Sunday in October.
B
Yeah, it's.
A
Is it on your calendar?
B
I think tight end day is a little dramatic, to be honest.
A
That's because you're not a tight end, Isaac. You can't hit from outside the club. You can't even get in.
B
It's this Fun fact.
A
The lamp didn't do anything to you, Isaac.
B
Fun fact, tight end is the 1 position in football I think I could switch to like right now and I would be a good tight end. That being said, it's dramatic.
A
Catch the ball for sure.
B
I was a receiver in high school, Isaac.
A
That was high school.
B
Yeah, but I made it to the NFL. If I only made it like to college and I was like, I. Receiver, receiver. In high school. He'd be like, oh, that was like last level. It just seems like it's not a big deal because it was two levels ago.
A
But no, Isaac, because it was 20 years ago.
B
I would be, I can, I can catch for sure. One handed grabs, all that. I do all that.
A
Yeah. Okay. Who are some notable tight ends that did well this weekend?
B
Brock Bowers had a great game. Travis Kelce, 10 catches. Great game. Caught his first touchdown of the football season. Yep. And he.
A
Isaac's looking at my notes and he.
B
Has 75 touchdowns, which makes him puts.
A
Him in the record books against Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, Gron, Jimmy Graham.
B
Who's your favorite tight end on that list? Other than Travis Kelce?
A
Probably Gron. He's got a fun personality.
B
So as we sit right now, we're recording this podcast in what city?
A
Orange County.
B
Orange County. What high school did Tony Gonzalez go to? Tony Gonzalez went to Huntington High School. We used to pass it driving to Albertson.
A
Why do I know his name?
B
Because he's one of the best tight ends of all time. And you have a sports podcast. Oh.
A

Happy Halloween from me and your local Applebee's. Okay? Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and this year it's especially, especially, especially both very exciting because of a few different reasons. Number one, I'm gonna steal all of my daughter's Halloween candy because we are going trick or treating and she's not even a year old so she will not be consuming that. But you know who will be? I am. Number two, because Applebee's has a very exciting drink called the Dollar Zombie, which is a dollar. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I grew up going to Applebee's all the time. I truly love Applebee's. I mean just with like football games and just family gatherings, getting a quick bite to eat. I mean throughout college, I literally would study at my local Applebee's. They have something for everyone. Their menu, steak ribs, burgers, pasta. But I want to talk about the drink. So thanks to the popularity of the Dollarita, which sounds like what it is, a $1 margarita. Yeah, say no more. This spooky season, Applebee's is bringing back the Dollar Zombie. So it is a $1 infectious rum cocktail. It's literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. $1, 4/4, 10 dimes. I don't know how many nickels. The drink is a blue rum cocktail and it is topped with a gummy brain. Which you guys, it's spooky season. Of course it's topped with a gummy brain. It's only $1, making it the perfect drink to enjoy all October, especially before any events you have coming up. It is sure to infect your night with a good time. So be sure to run, not walk to your local Applebee's because it's almost over. Come into Applebee's and enjoy this spooky cocktail before they're gone. Being an adult has its pros and cons. For example, a pro you don't have to have a bedtime or someone telling you that you have to go to bed. But con you stay up until 2am scrolling and then you still have to wake up and go to work. Another con of being an adult making doctor's appointments. Which I will say sometimes I'm guilty of having my husband call, but that's where ZocDoc comes in. Clutch the healthcare app that makes adulting easier. ZocDoc is a free app and website where you can search and compare high quality in network doctors. Choose the right one for your needs and click to instantly book an appointment. We're talking about in network appointments with more than a hundred thousand healthcare providers across every specialty from mental health to dental health, eye care, skin care, and much more. Plus Zoc Doc appointments happen fast, typically within just 24 to 72 hours of booking. You can even score a same day appointment, which I truly love because I like to procrastinate. And then I'm like wait, I should have scheduled this a long time ago. I personally love using Zoc Doc 1 because I don't really like calling people on the phone and this is something really easy and attainable for me to do. That way I don't have to bug my husband and call on my behalf. It's all done right on the app. So stop putting off those doctor's appointments and go to Zocdoc.com Sunday and instantly book a top rated doctor today. That's Z O C-O C.com Sunday Zocdoc.com Sunday Falcons played the Buccaneers. Falcons won 3126. Kyle Pitts, tight end.
B
How many do. Do you have his stats on there?
A
He scored two touchdowns in the first.
B
Kyle Pitts had two touchdowns in the first half. Listen, Kyle Pitts has been highly criticized this year.
A
Really? I thought you talked like, well about.
B
It because he came along a couple weeks ago and, you know, they really need him to come along for their offense. And he had two touchdowns in the first half. Great job. Kyle Pitts. Yeah, I think he's a good player. I, a lot of people have hated on him. Said his route running's fallen off a little bit. Listen, I think Kyle Pitts is a great tight end.
A
Wow. 49ers tight end. George KD.
B
Great game.
A
Yeah. He helped invest. He helped. Six catches on Sunday. 128 yards plus a touchdown.
B
Crazy. He, he, he's a tough guy to go against. He's one of those tight ends. When you're game planning during the week, you're like, we got KD this week.
A
Really?
B
Yeah. Travis Kelce is not one of those guys.
A
Really?
B
You have two different types of tight ends in the NFL. You have a guy like Kyle Pitts who we just mentioned, more of a route running tight end. Not as physical. He's not a great, you know, blocker. Kiddo. Kiddo's trying to. He's trying to take your head off when he's blocking you.
A
Why do Kittle and Max Crosby remind me of each other?
B
I think it's the hair.
A
You think it. Why? Max Crosby doesn't have long hair.
B
Red hair. Kiddo has a red beard, Red hair. I don't, I don't. I mean, I don't have an answer. I'm out here, I'm looking for something, but you're like looking at me like, really? You don't have it. I'm like, well, I don't know.
A
George Kittle E6 Uncrustables on the road.
B
Yeah. I don't believe that.
A
That's what I eat in one night.
B
I don't believe that. A lot of controversy about the 49ers, by the way.
A
Really?
B
Do we want to get into it?
A
Let's do it.
B
The maga hat.
A
Yeah. How do you feel about NFL players using their platform to talk about politics?
B
I'll say this, and this could be controversial, but I don't mind saying it. I just think it's. It's complicated because of his position. Like, his position. I don't know. Like, it's. It's such a big. It's such a big decision that affects so many people that are, like, in different socioeconomic places. And so it just was intense for him to do that. And I wish he would have explained it after, like, he wore the hat and then they asked him about it on a podium.
A
Yeah.
B
And he. He didn't go like, hey, here's, like, the reasons why I really think this is important.
A
What were his exact words? He was like, I don't feel the need to explain it any further.
B
He said, I don't want to get into it. It. This is just really important. Here's what I will say.
A
But then why. But if it is really important, why doesn't he use his platform to talk about it? Like, you literally have a microphone and cameras all around you. If it. If it is that important, then why aren't you talking about it?
B
Yeah, no, I agree. I think it was more important for him to explain himself. Now, that being.
A
I mean, he interrupted somebody getting interviewed just like I just interrupted you.
B
Now, here's what the storyline is going to be. The storyline is going to be Colin Kaepernick played for the 49ers, got blackballed by the NFL. Now Bosa, years later, comes on, puts on a MAGA hat. Nothing's gonna happen. I know the Bosa family personally. They are great people. Honestly, like, their. Their family has been so nice to us. Like, yeah, they've been great. So I really don't have anything bad to say. Say about them personally, but it'll just be interesting how the NFL even addressed.
A
I do. I think I would. I just wish he would have spoke.
B
Yeah, he had a great listen. People would pay money and do anything to have that space right at that moment in front of microphones where somebody goes, what do you believe? And you can answer. And he didn't take that time. He left everybody in America to just judge him based on throwing on that hat and interrupting an interview. So.
A
But, you know, the craziest thing is that if you're voting for Trump, you might have seen that and been like, he doesn't own anybody an explanation. And if you're voting for Kamala, you might have seen them been like, why is he not explaining? Like, I just feel like the people on both sides are going to stay. Like, their opinions are just going to be side to side.
B
Yeah. I think the most important Thing for Americans to know is like, being informed is the best thing you can be. And again, he could have informed Americans he had a golden stage. And I think he fumbled the bag that he definitely has. I mean, we're talking about one of the highest paid players of history.
A
Yeah. I mean, I'll never get an opportunity.
B
Like that again, but again, they're great people. I don't have anything bad to say about them, but I wish he would.
A
No, I think it was important that we talked about it on a podcast because I know people are probably thinking.
B
Do you have anything to say? You have a mic in front of you and lights on.
A
I'm going to vote in my best interest and my daughter's best interest. And just based off that, you already assume who I'm voting for. And that, to me, is a problem. And that's all I'll say.
B
Okay, Fair.
A
Yeah.
B
You're not gonna ask me if I have anything to say?
A
Do you have anything to say?
B
I'm good. I have a lot to say. But that's a separate podcast.
A
Okay. Well, I. Yeah, I just. I don't even want to get into it.
B
Yeah. It was just an interesting.
A
I do. I do hate how everybody is like, use your platform, Use your platform. Use your platform. And I understand where they're coming from because you should talk to your audience. Right. But I just don't think that I am knowledgeable enough to educate people and to sway them on this versus that. I know enough where I'm okay with deciding on, like, who I want to vote for. I have research policies. I understand, like, what I am voting for, but I think that my platform, I, like, want it to be an enjoyable space for everybody. And I just think that I get really anxious around politics. So it's like, I don't. I don't want to talk about politics, you know, Fair. But I do think this is a very important election.
B
Yeah. I put my face in it. I just go right into it.
A
Yeah. I don't know why you do that.
B
I mean, my. Yeah, I should probably stop.
A
Last and certainly not least, Hail Mary.
B
Oh, my God. What a crazy ending to the game.
A
If you guys haven't seen the game, the Commanders played the Bears.
B
No, I was right. It was the Commander Commanders played the Bears. Commanders were up at the. With, like 20 something seconds left.
A
It was wild.
B
It was one of those plays where you're just like, I'm telling you as a player, when you're on the sideline and that play is happening, you're not even Question like you're like I'm not worried about this. Also it's a scenario that you practice. Like we have a whole 15 minute period every single week where you practice those end of game scenarios. Really I can't believe it happened. I mean if you had an ISO cam on their head coach Eber Fl which you. They kind of do have it the way that he confusion. I mean gotta be the worst feeling in the world as a coach and that's a team that's fighting. They're Eber Flutes is fighting to not be on a hot seat. Caleb Williams, their quarterback is fighting to make a name for himself. Like they needed that win against a good commander's team. That was brutal.
A
It was incredible.
B
It was brutal. It was incredible to watch. I mean the commanders, I mean it's hard to even say great win because it's a once, it's a one.
A
And that's what, that's what I get though. Like Eber flu is if. Is he really like dang, that's another loss because essentially that really wasn't like.
B
You know what's funny though? Their, their day after was separated by a 10 second play. If that play goes different, they're having the best day possible. Next they're like man we played great. Great job. Way to be resilient at the end. Caleb Williams, way to go down and score at the end.
A
Frustrated when teams win and like lucky scenarios. But then again it's like are you lucky or are you actually practicing those things? Like the Noah, is that his guy? What was the guy standing behind? No, that wasn't luck.
B
It was, it was well executed. But it's. A lot of things have to happen, right? Well, but it was great. Well, yeah.
A
How, how common is it for Hail Mary to end at a touchdown again.

A
Yikes. Well, that's a different topic for a different podcast.

A

A
Well, Happy Halloween, everyone. Be sure to be on the lookout for what NFL players are wearing to tonight's Thursday Night Football.
B
Can you not talk about what other NFL players are wearing?
A
Anyways, Scotty is going to be dressed up in a few different costumes, so that'll be fun. But have a safe Happy Halloween. And I will be eating all my daughter's candy because she's literally 11 months old and uncrustable.
