Hi, all, this is Sarah Harrelson, your host of Taking a Walk Nashville Today. Joining me is Buzz Knight from Taking a Walk. And we're gonna discuss some upcoming events and shows happening here in Nashville. How are you, Buzz?
A
I'm doing great. Thanks for letting me pop my head in. Far away from outside of Boston, but close enough to be with you on Taking a Walk Nashville. Thanks, Sarah.
B
Yeah, close enough to be peeking about what's coming up here in Nashville.
A
Oh, you know what, when you, every time you go through this list, it makes me want to head to Logan airport and hop on a plane.
B
It's only one flight away, but definitely have a lot of great events coming up this week for November 24th. We mentioned last time that September, Stephen Wilson Jr. Is playing at the Ryman and he's back on the 24th for a second night concert.
A
Well, Stephen Wilson is sounds like a force to be reckoned with and it sounds like he is coming back home for these shows to really just sort of say, I'm back and I'm bigger than ever. And you know, if anybody's listening, that is in the Steven Wilson camp could come on. Stephen, beyond Taking a Walk and Taking a Walk, Nashville, we'd love to have you.
B
Yeah, please join us. There's so many other events happening this week too, though. One that I'm really looking forward to is Dylan Altman Soul Stew. This is happening November 26th at the Analog and the Hunt Motel. I love this venue. It's cozy, it's intimate as couches all around the stage. And it always sounds really good in there. But Dylan Altman's, he's a songwriter. He's been here in Nashville since the 90s. He would be another great guest on Taking a Walk Nashville, but he said three number one songs with Tim McGraw, Jake Owen and Jason Aldean. But he also hosts a YouTube show. And if you haven't seen it, it's truly great. He performs with the band and then he takes a break, cooks something, teaches everyone a recipe, and then goes back to performing. So that's the name of this event at Analog. Dylan Altman Soul Stew. And if you purchase a ticket, you also get 15% off your meal at Evelyn's, the restaurant in the Hutton Hotel.
A
All right, well, now where's the Hutton located?
B
It's on West End.
A
All right. Sounds like I have not been there and it sounds like it's a place I gotta check out, so. Sounds perfect.
B
It's a fun venue. Yeah, I've performed at the Analog a few times. And it's truly a great intimate venue.
A
I think what's so cool about doing this is we're not only celebrating those that might be in and around the Nashville area listening to this, but there's so many people from all over the country that have either been to Nashville or planning a trip. So we like whetting your appetite wherever you are to get to Nashville quickly, check these venues out, support these artists and support that music community.
B
Absolutely. Yeah. There's music every corner that you turn in Nashville. Always so much going on, so much happening at the Ryman. Like we talked about. It looks like we have Rock and Roll Playhouse the Last Waltz at the Nashville Theater on November 23rd. Is there anything that's sticking out to you, Buzz, for what's on this week's concert calendar?
A
Well, the Last Waltz event sounds interesting. So I'm gathering since the Last Waltz occurred right around Thanksgiving, the famous event at Winterland in San Francisco with so many great artists, the band and Joni Mitchell and. And if it allows all different, you know, aspects of. Of celebrating that, that concert, one of the great concert films to this day. Martin Scorsese, by the way, is the director of that. But it sounds like a great take. I. I think people should check it out.
B
And oh, there's another event at the ryman on Sunday, November 23, with Noah Guthrie and Nathan Graham. Buzz, what do you know about Noah Guthrie?
A
Well, let's see. I'm going to go to Claude AI and see. I don't know if he's related to Arlo and Woody, but. Ah, okay. Noah Guthrie is an American singer songwriter from South Carolina whose sound has been compared to Chris Stapleton with his country rock grit with the authenticity of Jason Isbell. Here's some highlights about him. He. He's released three critically acclaimed albums, built a strong following through powerful live performances, performs both as a solo artist and with his band Good Trouble, and he's open for major artists including Ed Sheeran, Willie Nelson and Dwight Yum.
B
Wow. Yeah, definitely. Gonna have to check him out.
A
That.
B
That's a major list of people he has opened for.
A
Oh, I got one more about him, Sarah. He's known for playing this one. This one really blows me away. He's known for playing Rodri Meeks in the final season of Glee. Really?
B
Yeah. I'll have to go back and watch that. It's been a while since I've seen that show.
A
So he's developed a real Persona here. So this sounds like a good one to single out.
B
Yeah. And there's one more event I have to tell you about, Buzz. This looks very interesting. If you like intertwining fitness and music, this one is for you. On Sunday, November 30, at the Schermer Horn Symphony center at 7pm they're doing an event called Orchestrally Energized Yoga. So they're doing, like, a wellness series where the symphony is playing, and then you can, I guess, bring your yoga mat and do a vinyasa class synchronized with the Nashville Symphony. So that's pretty interesting. Instead of sitting down just listening to music, you can move and flow with the music.
A
I think it sounds like the per. The perfect recipe from having too much turkey around Thanksgiving.
B
Yeah, I guess that's why they're doing it after Thanksgiving. That makes sense.
A
Very smart. Okay, well, maybe. Maybe that will become an. Maybe it is an annual event, but that sounds like a good take as well.
B
Yeah, yeah, definitely. Check that out. It looks like they've done it before, but, yeah, bring your yoga mat and grab a ticket.
A
Well, there you are once again proving how great Nashville is and what it brings to the table, even when we have never imagined such a thing.
B
Absolutely. Yeah. It never ceases to amaze me or surprise me, everything that's going on here in Nashville. So, everyone, that's your weekly concert calendar for the week of November 24th to 30th. Thank you, Buzz, for coming on and talking all about Nashville events with me.
A
Well, thanks for having me on, Sarah, and thanks for taking a walk. Nashville.
