The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys.com and the Dallas Cowboys football club. How about you? Cowboys.
Patrick No See Walker
Go Cowboys.
Kyle Yeomans
This is talking Cowboys streaming live from the Dallas Cowboys world headquarters at the Star in Frisco.
Josh Rodriguez
CD Lamb.
Patrick No See Walker
Touchdown. It's on.
Kyle Yeomans
Jake Ferguson. Prescott keeps it and he bangs it into the touch. And now your hosts, Isaiah Standback, Patrick Walker, Josh Rodriguez and Kyle Yeomans. Ladies and gentlemen of Cowboys nation, we welcome you to the Week 4 edition of a say it with your chest for r here on talking Cowboys presented by Black Rifle coffee company live from the Star in Frisco, Texas in the SWBC studios. Welcome in everybody. We've got Pac Patrick, no see Walker, Josh Rodriguez, Tommy Yaris joining the show for the first time this week. We've got Paul Bastidis in the back doing great work getting us on the air and getting us ready to go for this Week 4 matchup between your Dallas Cowboys and those cheese heads from Wisconsin. You fired up, Josh.
Josh Rodriguez
Say with your chest, Kyle.
Kyle Yeomans
I'm saying it with my chest. I know what the frustration has been with this football team over the first three weeks of the season. You are a 64 yard field goal from Brandon Aubrey away from being 03, but I couldn't care less. These type of games get you fired up. This type of atmosphere that we're going to see and experience on Sunday night football should get Cowboys fans riled up. You've got someone that's coming in looking to snatch your, your 500 record, your lunch, your chain, whatever you want to say. They're trying to take away your happiness on Sunday. Don't let them do that. I hope AT&T Stadium is an absolute mad house on Sunday.
Josh Rodriguez
My grandmama gave me that. Hey, taking it. Dude, that's ours.
Patrick No See Walker
Don't go crying the car. Don't go crying the car. Lay it all on the field. Just lay it. Just lay it out there.
Kyle Yeomans
And I'm so pumped to be there too. It's the first time that pregame and post game is going to be on site at, at the stadium this week. So we'll be in the building. We're going to be down on the field. We're going to have a great pregame show and it's going to be wild. I, I know the Penn State whiteout is on Saturday in college football. There's going to be a lot of great college football this week too, right?
Patrick No See Walker
There will be.
Josh Rodriguez
However, I'm not looking forward to as far as the game goes. You guys are going to be there. You're going to be at AT&T Stadium with us. I gotta sit next to Kyle at.
Kyle Yeomans
The game press box, but to finish the floor.
Josh Rodriguez
He's gonna rip his pants again and sit next.
Kyle Yeomans
That's happened once before.
Patrick No See Walker
Wait, does Kyle wear snap ons during.
Kyle Yeomans
During the pregame. Now I do now after that day. Now I do. But no, to finish the thought. I know the atmosphere for the whiteout at Penn State's gonna be crazy on Saturday. I hope the atmosphere is just as loud at AT&T stad. I hope they just turn crazy.
Patrick No See Walker
Just go crazy.
Josh Rodriguez
I don't want to see any green in the stands, man.
Patrick No See Walker
I don't want. You're going to see it.
Josh Rodriguez
No, I don't want to see it, is what I'm saying.
Kyle Yeomans
Or yellow. Or yellow.
Tommy Yarish
Or cheese.
Kyle Yeomans
That gross. Yellow. Yeah, that cheese gross.
Tommy Yarish
I'm good on cheese heads. Yeah, I'm good without it.
Kyle Yeomans
Is that your least favorite fan in the NFL? Like a cheese head?
Tommy Yarish
I don't know if I.
Kyle Yeomans
Probably not.
Tommy Yarish
Ranking of worst fans.
Kyle Yeomans
Oh, I do. Philadelphia.
Patrick No See Walker
It's Philadelphia.
Tommy Yarish
Yes, I could make sure. But no, I, I not just I like eating cheese. I don't like seeing it on people's heads. Okay, that's off putting.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, it is off putting. Glad to have you back here, Tommy.
Tommy Yarish
I'm glad to be back. Thanks for having me, guys.
Kyle Yeomans
It's been a minute. Isaiah out today. He's doing good morning football out there.
Tommy Yarish
On the west coast and called JV in.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, be sure to call or be sure to watch.
Tommy Yarish
Thanks, man.
Patrick No See Walker
Where's Arch Archer?
Kyle Yeomans
Oh, no. We're throwing shots across the bow to the Texas Longhorn.
Josh Rodriguez
This is a family.
Patrick No See Walker
We.
Tommy Yarish
We're going friendly, we're going one and oh, this week the buy has no chance against Arch and the fellows.
Kyle Yeomans
There you go, brothers.
Josh Rodriguez
We're happy and we're singing.
Kyle Yeomans
There you go. All right, let's get into some news and notes here. Patrick no see Walker Andrew.
Patrick No See Walker
What? What's the rest of that? I don't know. All right. Yes, sir. News and notes. So we got the Thursday's report from the Cowboys and as expected, Tyler Booker. Neither Tyler Booker nor CD Lamb participated in practice on Thursday. Again, they are expected to be out at minimum this week. CD Lamb might be a couple of weeks. Tyler Booker is Going to be a good bit longer. I expect that he'll be moved to IR at some point this week. There is some great news though. Duron Bland was upgraded from limited to a full participant in yesterday's practice. So Daron Bland continues to be on track to return for the cut.
Kyle Yeomans
I like that.
Patrick No See Walker
I like that.
Kyle Yeomans
Say more words like that.
Patrick No See Walker
I shall.
Kyle Yeomans
Oh.
Patrick No See Walker
Trayvon Diggs was also upgraded to full participant from did not participate the day before.
Kyle Yeomans
I know there are a lot of people rolling their eyes that were clapping at that, but you need bodies there.
Josh Rodriguez
And you just simply haven't seen those two on the field at the same time.
Kyle Yeomans
Period.
Josh Rodriguez
Come on.
Patrick No See Walker
That combo pack is rarely seen together. So hopefully. Hopefully.
Josh Rodriguez
Are they one in the same? Has he been doing a Batman, Bruce Wayne situation?
Patrick No See Walker
Because you've never seen them in the same place at the same time. I wonder. So yeah, you have your two starting all pro cornerbacks who are expected to take the field against the Green Bay Packers. That is fantastic news because Jordan Love and that offense, as we talked about this week, can rack up numbers if you allow them to. Now, of course it starts with getting after him in the pass rush, but it certainly helps that you will have your two opera corners back there to try to do what they can.
Josh Rodriguez
Stop the bleeding, as it were.
Patrick No See Walker
As it were.
Kyle Yeomans
How much does that change your confidence level just having those two guys, if it went give me a pre digs, slash bland rating 1 through 10 and give me a post.
Josh Rodriguez
I mean just use the eye tests. You saw them both out there, right? Yes. For Philly I was like wait a second.
Kyle Yeomans
That's how rare.
Josh Rodriguez
They're so rarely out there at the same time. Yeah, but using the eye test, you did not let Philly's receivers beat you. Granted you let the team beat you. But regardless, the receivers did not kill you in Philly. The second Duron Blands out, you are not looking very good. But Ryan, Kyre, Elam and granted you're just not able to solidify that slot corner position which he will be playing. Slot corner. Tommy, I just want to clarify more.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, it'll be him in the slot. Diggs and Elam on the outside.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah. Thank you.
Tommy Yarish
Thank you for that, Josh. I appreciate it.
Josh Rodriguez
All right. Anyways, eye test, you have to feel a little more confident just based on this year alone. We got three sample sizes and that is one.
Patrick No See Walker
The Ron Bland back on the field makes me feel more confident. But if we're talking about some personnel changes, shoddy. If we're talking about some personnel changes, I'M starting my boundary. Starting corners are Daron Bland and Trevon Diggs, and I keep Ready Steward in the nickel. Ooh. I just. Here's why I would, here's why I would. We, we had, we can agree that Ready Stewart looked really good in run defense. We want him to look better in coverage. Yes, agreed.
Kyle Yeomans
I would say good. I don't know if I'm going to say really good. He took a really bad angle on one of his outside runs.
Patrick No See Walker
It was good. It was better than expected.
Josh Rodriguez
He wraps up sure.
Patrick No See Walker
Better than.
Kyle Yeomans
And he's, he wants to be physical.
Patrick No See Walker
So that's good question that you have to ask yourself is, with the way Kair Elam is struggling, are you more comfortable with your struggles on the outside? Are you more comfortable with your struggles in the nickel? I personally am more comfortable with struggles. And then I, I.
Kyle Yeomans
So you're making a considerable decision to bench Kair Elam this week. I would say with the chest.
Patrick No See Walker
I'm going to say with my chest. Kyrie Elam is struggling.
Kyle Yeomans
Okay.
Patrick No See Walker
So just like we had the Jack Sanborn conversation, Jack Sanborn is, is struggling, struggling. He's not giving you what Marisley file could give you. And if you're talking about personnel changes and you want to make changes to make the team better, especially on the defensive side of the ball where you struggled so mightily, I would put my two all pro corners on the boundaries, especially against a Green Bay offense that can take you downfield and I would look at Ready Stewart and I'd say, hey, now's the time to kind of step up with the, with the coverage. I mean, he has the physicality, he has the run defense. So yeah, that's the thing is I think that I'm more concerned with Kair struggles on boundary than I am with ready struggles in the nickel. And that's why I would make that decision.
Tommy Yarish
I see where you're coming from and it's. I understand why. I just think that when you look back at that Philly game, you know, granted the Eagles didn't really need to throw the ball a lot. I mean, they were running the ball so well and they were getting out with a quarterback run game that they didn't need to throw the ball a whole lot.
Josh Rodriguez
Also, it's Jalen hurts.
Tommy Yarish
It's Jalen hurts. I think Kyrie Elam struggles this year have really been more of the fact that Cowboys don't have a pass rush. They just can't get to the quarterback. And really the whole secondary, I mean, that's where everything starts. If you can't get after quarterbacks in the NFL and they've got all day to throw, they're going to make you pay. It doesn't matter who you have back there. Trayvon Diggs, Darrell Revis doesn't matter. Well, maybe Darrell Reeves is a different story. But if they get all the time in the world and your offensive linemen have to are holding up for 3, 4, 5 seconds, eventually someone's going to pop open. It doesn't matter who you're playing at corner. So I think that that's really where the struggles have come from. Now, I'm not saying Kyrie Elam has played really well or anything. I think he's had his fair share of struggles. But the fact that the Cowboys can't get to the quarterback and can't bring him down is what's holding them back. So that's really more of what I think they need. So I'm fine with Elam on the outside because, you know, I think when you look at the list of outside corners that you've got right now, it's him and Diggs are your two best ones. And again, I'm by no means saying that, you know, Kyrie Lim has had a great season, that he's going to be a Pro bowl or anything like that, but from what we saw in training camp, he clearly has the ability to cover well when you get after the quarterback. And, you know, I think it's too early to be like, all right, let's sign our.
Patrick No See Walker
I'm saying he's slumping, so.
Tommy Yarish
That's right. No, no, I see what you're saying. Absolutely.
Patrick No See Walker
He's slumping and you're staring one in three in the face.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah.
Patrick No See Walker
And so at this point, as a head coach, you have to say, okay, I know you need time to get out of the slump, but right now we don't have a moment for you to get out of the slump. Let's get to 2 and 2 and then let's revisit and figure this thing out from there.
Josh Rodriguez
Well, I don't know that I necessarily have the confidence that that will happen because, you know, yesterday listening to coordinator. Or I guess Wednesday. Right. Listening to coordinators talk about Eber Flutes, for instance, bringing up Jack Sanborn and saying that he's had two really good, solid games. That to me was alarming in many respects, but that's his.
Tommy Yarish
Well, he did say he was in run defense.
Josh Rodriguez
He did specify run.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, run defense.
Kyle Yeomans
And the other thing is, a lot of times, if they're going to be coaches that are in these press conferences. They're not going to throw their guys under the bus. Of course they're not going to sit here and say. It's like the. The whole conversation with the. The Jerry Jones saying this playoff team and everybody up in arms. Cause he said, yes, this is a playoff team after they just got embarrassed by the Bears. What else is he gonna say? What else? What's his other answer in that regard? What is he. I mean, that's a whole different conversation. But is he gonna say, nah, we're not a playoff team. It's week three, but you know what? I've already given up on.
Tommy Yarish
The season's over.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, you can't answer that question. It's the same thing with. Whenever coaches talk about these players, they're always gonna say, oh, they're doing this. Well, that holds more weight. When he said he's been good in run defense as opposed to saying good in general. That holds more weight because that's saying. I'm going to.
Josh Rodriguez
Specify.
Kyle Yeomans
Specify speak for a living. What he is doing. Well, because there are other things on this roster, other guys on this roster, other things in his game specifically that he's not doing well.
Josh Rodriguez
Was that alarming to you at all for him to kind of coach speak that phrase when talking about a guy like Sanborn and not necessarily offering up a lot of criticism towards. Towards him?
Kyle Yeomans
Because. No, because I know what he's saying to the media. And Coach Eberfluss is a former head coach versus. Versus. What he's saying behind closed doors is completely different. Yeah, completely different. And honestly, I think the Schottenheimer staff as a whole, they do a great job of building a wall. The way that they talk in the media and the way that they talk in these press conferences. I'd like to hear Tommy and his thoughts on this. They are very positive and optimistic consistently. Whereas at times McCarthy and his staff would give kind of the real one way or the. They build a wall between their players and the media. And it's not a bad thing if you want to try and go win football games and build trust on something that you're trying to build culture on your side of the building.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, no, absolutely, you're right. And I think Brian Schottenheimer has really done a great job of consistently finding ways to make the really bad positive. And you know, any football coach is going to say that this team's not playing well through three games.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
And Brian Schottenheimer's even said it.
Kyle Yeomans
He Said it, too.
Tommy Yarish
And I think Brian Schoenheimer does, for the most part, keep things pretty real. And, you know, when things are not going well, he'll tell you why. And I've always appreciated how deep in detail he goes on everything, because a lot of folks just don't understand, myself included. There are some things that I don't understand. And him explaining it is incredible perspective. But, yeah, this is a guy who is not going to change who he is. He's always going to be upbeat and he's looking for the next task at hand and how they can get better. But you're right, Kyle. They do a really good job of building the wall. They know what's. What they need to fix. Yeah, they know what they need to fix. Now it's just a matter of, okay, do they have the horses to fix it? And that's. That's. That's really the biggest question.
Patrick No See Walker
I think they do have the horses to fix it. I think it's. I think you just have to pull the trigger on some of these things. Right. We talked about, when we're talking about Shoddy saying he could see he could make some personnel changes, we were wondering here on, at this very panel, are we talking about more 1. Yay. Thomas and Marquis Bell on the back end.
Kyle Yeomans
Okay.
Patrick No See Walker
Because Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson, they're. They're struggling in the roles they're being asked to do right now. Same goes for Jack Sanborn. We would like to see more Marislio foul. Kyrie Elam. We know that he's capable. We saw what he was doing in training camp. He was one of the training camp stars. Right. But he's slumping right now. Are you willing to make those types of changes? These aren't right. James Houston put him up because Sam Williams is struggling. Dante Fowler, he's in a slump. This is not to say that any of the guys that we're saying pull back are incapable because they're absolutely capable.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Patrick No See Walker
But in the moment, again, you're staring down the barrel of one and three. You've got to shake some things up.
Josh Rodriguez
And shot him has been saying you need all 53. Three guys. You need every single one of them. If you're not giving them that opportunity and you're willing to stagnate your defense and your offense by using the same situations and the players that are putting you in those situations, that's the definition of insanity. You have 53 guys. Use them.
Kyle Yeomans
So would you make that switch that we.
Patrick No See Walker
We.
Kyle Yeomans
That Patrick proposed earlier in the segment?
Josh Rodriguez
I Don't know that I'm necessarily ready for that. I more so I'm leaning towards Tommy's observation that you need the pass rush to get there. You need that.
Patrick No See Walker
Yeah, that's cool.
Josh Rodriguez
You need that pressure. I mean, it's a chicken or the egg.
Patrick No See Walker
It's going to be true. None.
Tommy Yarish
Right?
Patrick No See Walker
It doesn't matter because eventually it will get out. Like.
Josh Rodriguez
Exactly.
Patrick No See Walker
You're not going to sack Jordan Love or pressure him on every single drop back. So when that ball does get out, the question is, are you comfortable with the current set or should you, should you just go back to more of a traditional with your 2 all pros on the boundary?
Josh Rodriguez
But I'm not comfortable where the defense is at now. I, I and I'll say that plainly and we've talked about it so many times, I'm bringing up Jack Sanborn on my end is part of that hesitation that I need to see a little bit more from that unit because I think they are letting things slip by. They don't have the athletic ability there to contain quarterbacks that are dual threat. We've seen it against the Eagles, you saw it against Caleb Williams and now you have Jordan Love who is a dual threat quarterback. What they did against the Commanders is exactly what you need to be doing. They had two very athletic linebackers in Quay Walker and Edron Cooper. They were able to contain at the second level and not let him get past. Yeah, that, that's where I'm at. You have those guys. You have a Damone Clark, you have a Marisley foul. Why aren't they spying? Not spying, but containing a quarterback of.
Patrick No See Walker
That caliber and early contestants for coming of the day.
Kyle Yeomans
Oh, do we see it? I have not. We'll, we'll address that. And then I've also got a stat that's going to back up what Josh just said on the other side of the break.
Patrick No See Walker
I have to break up and it's.
Kyle Yeomans
Ky'S stat of the week. Can you save maybe one minute on the other side of the break and then we'll have Patrick break out of here when we come back with more talking cowboys after this.

Patrick No See Walker
Is.
Kyle Yeomans
Actually, I was just thinking that be.
Tommy Yarish
Got a great voice.
Kyle Yeomans
The one singing that?
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, absolutely.
Patrick No See Walker
All right.
Kyle Yeomans
It is a big week for college football. Patrick's got to get out of here.
Patrick No See Walker
Yeah, I got an appointment.
Kyle Yeomans
But since he's got his Georgia Bulldogs, we've got one minute. It's a college football minute here. I'll say it with your chest. Friday you got a big one. And you got to share this minute with everybody else, so just remember that.
Patrick No See Walker
Listen, first of all, gold dogs, we got a big one coming this weekend. We got the low tide, as I like to call them. Those boys from Tuscalooza. You caught that Tuscaloosa. They got to come play between the hedges. So, yeah, we're going to make it happen. It's prime time SEC football. Hoo hoo, buddy. One of two of the best programs in the history of college football. But only one of us is leaving with a dub, and that's going to be them dogs. Hunker down, Harry dog.
Kyle Yeomans
There you go. Tommy, you're up. What is that? Oh, no, not the Ryan Williams photo.
Patrick No See Walker
Cool beans. Now show the Texas versus Georgia photo.
Kyle Yeomans
Oh, yeah.
Patrick No See Walker
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
Show the Texas 2025 is a new year. Will we win that game?
Kyle Yeomans
Don't depend on mutual.
Tommy Yarish
Probably not.
Patrick No See Walker
Don't depend on mutual wars.
Tommy Yarish
Will I continue to talk trash to battery? Absolutely. Pig Suey, let's go.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, there's. There's Tommy cheering on Arkansas.
Tommy Yarish
That's. That's me cheering on Arkansas.
Kyle Yeomans
You've got a big one this week.
Tommy Yarish
Oh, my God, Nick. Even. Yeah. Against Notre Dame.
Kyle Yeomans
One this week. North Texas taking on South Alabama, the Fighting Jalen Tolberts. At home, they are 4 0. They are receiving votes for the first time since 2018. I'll be in the building. They actually gave this hat away as, like, a ticket package this week, and I got mine a little bit early just so I could wear it on the show. Go mean green. Get it done. Against the South Alabama Jags.
Josh Rodriguez
The Art Institute of Dallas, among eight campuses permanently closed as of September 26, 2023. They abruptly announced the closure of all campuses across the United States, including One in North Texas.
Patrick No See Walker
Undefeated.
Tommy Yarish
Undefeated.
Kyle Yeomans
So now you got to pick a new team entirely, right?
Josh Rodriguez
I don't know. The Rock went there, so.
Kyle Yeomans
Okay.
Patrick No See Walker
Smells from.
Kyle Yeomans
All right.
Tommy Yarish
Home of the college football Carson Becks.
Kyle Yeomans
Hey, they're really good. They're coming.
Josh Rodriguez
Dallas.
Tommy Yarish
They might be the best team in the country.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, they really might be.
Patrick No See Walker
All right, Patrick got a breakout.
Kyle Yeomans
So long, buddy.
Patrick No See Walker
You have? Which one?
Tommy Yarish
That was really.
Josh Rodriguez
God bless.
Patrick No See Walker
No air file. Pow. You have my pickles. I do that segment and yeah, all I can say is before cow even.
Josh Rodriguez
Go dogs. Go dogs.
Patrick No See Walker
No, no, no. Oh, Cowboys. I need you to prove me wrong.
Kyle Yeomans
We do have his prediction. It is in the building. Patrick. No see Walker. Peace. And out on a say it with Chess Friday. All right, as we get into this segment, this is our X factor segment where we make some bold predictions and talk about who is going to make a biggest impact on the field Sunday night. Josh Radamus.
Josh Rodriguez
Oh, my goodness.
Kyle Yeomans
What? Yet again, I know you were close, but no cigar.
Josh Rodriguez
I don't want to choose my last two X factors, even though I think those will be your X factors this week.
Kyle Yeomans
You can choose them again if you want. I don't know. You've chosen Javante Williams.
Josh Rodriguez
Yes.
Kyle Yeomans
And then who was it last week?
Josh Rodriguez
Jake Ferguson.
Kyle Yeomans
It was Ferg, wasn't it? I know he was an X factor.
Josh Rodriguez
He was an X factor, granted. Gave you 50 Rs, but I think they're both going to be huge for you this week, too. And I don't want to split the two. So let me just go. Javante Williams. I think you need to use him as your bell cow. You need to give him at least 20 carries.
Kyle Yeomans
Okay.
Josh Rodriguez
Because I need to see over 100 yards for Javante Williams and give me, I don't know, two T's out of them.
Kyle Yeomans
20 carries and two tuddies.
Patrick No See Walker
Yeah.
Kyle Yeomans
Wow.
Patrick No See Walker
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
Be a pretty good game.
Kyle Yeomans
That's double the carries. And I mean, you would. My main thing is we cool with that.
Josh Rodriguez
You need to control the clock. You need to hold on to the ball longer than the Packers.
Kyle Yeomans
And also, not to mention the packers have struggled in terms of run defense more than they have in the past.
Josh Rodriguez
And attack that interior defensive line.
Kyle Yeomans
Get out.
Josh Rodriguez
Because they don't have Kenny Clark.
Kyle Yeomans
No mo. No, they don't. What you got, Tommy?
Tommy Yarish
Offensive X factor. Terence Steele. I think that if I'm Green Bay, I'm sending all my rushers to that. To the right side of the Cowboys offensive line. He has really struggled in pass protection and you know, if they line up Michael Parsons over there, he might have a field day. I mean, I have a feeling he's going to have a field day either way probably. But he's, he's, he's kind of good at this whole football thing. And you know, with Terrence Steele, I think in the run game, he's played pretty well this year. And Clayton Adams said it yesterday too, he thinks that his tackles have been better in the run that they've been than they've been in pass protection. But if they load up on that right side with him and TJ Bass, you know, if you line up Michael Parsons over there and Rashawn Gary, if you interchange the two of them and you just bring so much pressure off that right side, I think it could be a long day for Dak Prescott.
Kyle Yeomans
That's a big one. I, I'm going to stick with what the conversation was earlier in the show. Kyrie Elam's got to be the X factor man this week. He has to be. You need him to be. Because if Duron Bland's back, that sures up the inside and that sures up that nickel position. If he bounces outside one way or the other, I think it's going to because be because of injury, not because of any need or switch or benching of a guy, whether it's Diggs or Elam. But I was looking at this stat and it plays into my stat of the week. This is, this is not great. Let's just preface it with this. This is not fun.
Josh Rodriguez
Prepare yourselves.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, Cowboys defense allowed 415 yards, five touchdowns against deep passes this season, which is the most deep yards any defense has allowed through the first three weeks of a season in the next gen stats era, which goes back to 2016. So not only are they the worst in terms of defending the deep pass this year, they're the worst in nearly a decade at least. And it could go further back than that. Additionally to that, that's not all. Just wait, there's more.
Josh Rodriguez
Please know.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, I know. Kyrie Lim, acquired via trade in March, of course, the Cowboys Corner has allowed 257 yards in coverage this season, most in the NFL. We said that stat earlier in the in the week, but Jordan Love has thrown for 1,884 yards on deep passes since taking over as the packers full time starter in 2023. Would you like to take a guess where that ranks in the league on deep passes?
Josh Rodriguez
Let's say number two.
Kyle Yeomans
It's number one. So it's not a great matchup. So you need somebody to step up in that regard. And that's where I'm looking at Kyrie Elam.
Tommy Yarish
And I'll add to this, you know, with if Kyrie wants to have a big game, he's going to need some help from the guys up front in the passage.
Kyle Yeomans
You know, it's not all on him, but he's if, if the pass rush is going to be non existent again. Yeah, he's got to be nearly perfect.
Tommy Yarish
He's got to cover. But I'll say this to add to your stat about Jordan Love. If you want to beat the packers, you got to get him uncomfortable. You've got to get pressure in his face. You've got to force him into some bad decisions. In the last two years, he's throwing 22 interceptions, 11 each year he has won. This year it kind of cost him. Late in the game against the Browns last week, Grant Delpa did a really nice job of kind of waiting and waiting and waiting, reading Love's eyes and stepping up and getting in front of the receiver before he's three. He ran his slant. When Jordan loves under pressure, his completion percentage is just 47.8% when he's been a full time starter and he's been strip sacked five times. So you got to be active, get after the ball. And they're negative four in the turnover margin. That's second worst in the league. They've got to force some turnovers this game and give their offense as many possessions as they can if they want any chance of winning it.
Josh Rodriguez
Yeah, defensive act factor. That's what we're doing, right?
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Josh Rodriguez
Well, there's one guy that you haven't seen on this defense yet. And as far as I'm concerned, and Tommy brought it up earlier, you're talking about pass rush needing to be there. You haven't seen it yet. In terms of this football team this season, there's a certain guy out there, brand new. He should have played last week.
Kyle Yeomans
He's this week.
Josh Rodriguez
Give me Jadavian Clowney.
Kyle Yeomans
Nice.
Josh Rodriguez
Because if anything, if you're going to affect Jordan Love you needing to get him off his spot, you need to force him out of the pocket and put him in uncomfortable situations, throwing off his back foot, just creating pressure. I'm not saying sex, I'm saying pressures. For the love of God, I need Jordan Love to be hearing that faint Paul Phil Collins music, you know what I mean? I can feel it coming in the air tonight and I can feel it on that field Sunday night when Jadavan Clowney's gonna absolutely, absolutely clothesline me into the ground, and I need to get this ball away before he does that.
Kyle Yeomans
I can't top no notes. Honestly, I was going to ask, like, what would a successful appearance for Clowney look like and you just told me.
Tommy Yarish
Yes. Clothes lining the quarterback.
Kyle Yeomans
Clothesline the quarterback.
Tommy Yarish
I get a flag for that.
Kyle Yeomans
But get some, get some.
Josh Rodriguez
I'm fine with it. I'm fine with it. Dude, just make him uncomfortable. Ghosts, man.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah.
Josh Rodriguez
Give me at least five or six pressures on. On Jordan.
Kyle Yeomans
Like, big day.
Josh Rodriguez
That's all I need. I don't need a sack.
Kyle Yeomans
I really strong.
Josh Rodriguez
Make him uncomfortable.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, even that.
Josh Rodriguez
Breathe on his neck a little bit. You know what I'm saying? Just get away from me, dude.
Kyle Yeomans
It may be a little overzealous to say five or six pressures, but a realistic three or four I think I'd be all right with because that's more than what you're getting individually from most of the guys that have been in that spot and in that rotation initially.
Josh Rodriguez
And if it creates more pressure for other guys, too, if David Clowney's flushing him out to the right side. Come on, dude, let's go.
Kyle Yeomans
Have we talked about 42 on this show yet?
Josh Rodriguez
Oh, yeah. The fact that he's wearing 42 and you got BC, that's a terrible.
Kyle Yeomans
Oh, not even Barry Church. But that's. We've got something for Sunday with that, by the way, on the pregame show. It's going to be fun. The tune in.
Josh Rodriguez
Dallas Cowboys.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, Dallas Cowboys dot com. I hate that number on him.
Josh Rodriguez
Really?
Kyle Yeomans
He's always just been a single digit guy to me.
Josh Rodriguez
But what number is he going to.
Kyle Yeomans
He can't have one. Yeah, I know he can't have one. You can't give him a you. Yeah, that's the one that's open right now. You can't give them why he picked it, right? Why is that?
Tommy Yarish
Jackie.
Kyle Yeomans
Jackie Robinson. Okay, that's cool.
Patrick No See Walker
And then he said when he makes.
Kyle Yeomans
A sack, he's gonna do the. The Jackie Robinson baseball hit.
Josh Rodriguez
Oh, like, see, he's already counting sacks.
Kyle Yeomans
I don't like that.
Josh Rodriguez
Yeah, I don't like that, man. Just work. Just worry about pressures.
Kyle Yeomans
That's pretty cool, though.
Josh Rodriguez
That's cool.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, that's okay. That's pretty sweet. That's a bear trap right there, buddy. No, it's not. I didn't know. 42 is an ugly number on an edge rusher, period. It looked fine on it.
Josh Rodriguez
Doesn't look like an edge rusher, though.
Kyle Yeomans
I know, look fine on Barry Church as a safety. As an edge rusher, it looks bad, but that's a cool reason. So I guess it's fine. All right, let's take our, let's take our final break. When we come back, it's time for our pickums. Actually, before we go to break, Patrick wanted me to tell you that his X factor is Kevonte Turpin this week.
Josh Rodriguez
No, he said Turpy. Turpy speeds.
Kyle Yeomans
That's exactly what he said, actually. Yeah, Verbatim. And I can't wait to get, get the text message here in about five seconds.
Josh Rodriguez
He was like, josh, I hate to say it, but you came up with a really great nickname. Mine sucks. I'm really just trying to get on your level in looks and in nicknames.
Kyle Yeomans
And it's Turpy, terpy, speed. Speed.
Josh Rodriguez
It's Turpy.
Kyle Yeomans
He also said fashion, too. He said I wanted to get on your fashion.
Josh Rodriguez
Fashion level. Yeah, all the way.
Kyle Yeomans
All these things that Patrick said right as he was about to leave going into that, that last break. But we're going into another break now. We've got pickums. Give us a call, 888-855. If you want to be a part of the pick em segment and if you want to represent the fans of Cowboys nation this week as well, we'll pick some NFL games when we come back with more talking cowboys after this.

Tommy Yarish
Dear Dr. My friend supported me during.
Josh Rodriguez
A tough time, but what's the right.
Patrick No See Walker
Gift that says thanks for being a.
Kyle Yeomans
Shoulder to cry on?
Patrick No See Walker
Okay, this one's easy. I say give her a delicious Dr. Pepper. Nothing says thanks girl better than a.
Josh Rodriguez
One of a kind soda.
Patrick No See Walker
Yes, any Dr. Pepper flavor will do.
Kyle Yeomans
Now, just a reminder that I don't.
Josh Rodriguez
Need to be a real doctor to know that Dr. Pepper is the one you deserve.

Because Isaiah right now is the top dog and that's not good because he will let you know he is totally 9 and 3 on the year. He's doing really well. Need to make sure he makes his picks. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Second place would be Josh. Josh at 7 and 5, tied with the fans at 7 and 5. And then we have a tie for last place would be Kyle.
Patrick No See Walker
Ew.
Tommy Yarish
Patrick.
Kyle Yeomans
Oh, sorry. But here's a fun fact, guys. What's that? What I did last week is I chat GPT. The.
Patrick No See Walker
The.
Kyle Yeomans
To see what chat GPT thought about the standings or the games. Huh? Chap. GPT went 6 0, last.
Patrick No See Walker
What?
Kyle Yeomans
So let me tell you about that.
Josh Rodriguez
Oh, my goodness.
Kyle Yeomans
So I'm gonna do it again this week. Oh, we're. So now we're playing AI too. AI. Hey, I went 60 last. We've gotta play against. How about that? And a yes. AI win six.
Patrick No See Walker
No.
Kyle Yeomans
Last week, just letting you know, gave me the scores and everything.
Tommy Yarish
What is the world coming to?
Josh Rodriguez
So it's us versus Skynet.
Patrick No See Walker
Exactly.
Kyle Yeomans
What's that? What's that? That movie where it's not Transformers but like. Like, you know, like you're taking on the AI, you're taking on robots.
Josh Rodriguez
Terminator.
Kyle Yeomans
No. That's a good one, though.
Josh Rodriguez
That's kind of.
Kyle Yeomans
That would. That would make it work. Yeah. I'm not. That's not what I was referencing saying. Just like war versus whatever. Like robots.
Josh Rodriguez
Yeah.
Tommy Yarish
That was the worst description of a movie I think I have ever heard.
Kyle Yeomans
Ferrell's in it.
Tommy Yarish
That's like 800 different movies.
Kyle Yeomans
It's true. I know. I. I can't describe it.
Tommy Yarish
It's.
Kyle Yeomans
It's right there. But it's not. At the same time, you talking about.
Josh Rodriguez
Movies is like me talking about baseball. I have no clue what you're talking about.
Kyle Yeomans
I don't want to talk about baseball either. I'm sad about baseball.
Josh Rodriguez
Sorry, buddy.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah. All right. Take it on J Chat GPT this week. I love it. All right. It is time for our pick them segment. Our pick them guest picker this week is none other than Nebby Knows ball. Nebby from Silver Spring, Maryland is on the line. What's going on, Nebby?
Tommy Yarish
Hey.
Patrick No See Walker
Hi, guys. Thank you so much for allowing me to be the fan representative today. I really appreciate it and I'm really looking forward to this. So let's go. Let's do this.
Kyle Yeomans
Let's do it. I appreciate you, Nebby, and. And always calling in. We're going to start things off with that game out in Dublin, Ireland. It is the Vikings and the Steelers. Vikings Playing quite well with a backup quarterback. And that's why every time I say backup, I put it in quotations. Tommy, I'll let you start on this one.
Josh Rodriguez
Is he really the backup?
Kyle Yeomans
Is he really the backup?
Tommy Yarish
Yeah. You know, Kevin oconnell does such a good job with quarterbacks. Carson Wentz is playing really well, but really the Vikings defense, defense is what does it for me in this game. I'm picking Minnesota, you know, the Steelers. Aaron Rodgers is 800 years old, and I think that if he gets pressure in his face, he's not going to be able to do too much with it. So give me the Vikings.
Kyle Yeomans
He's probably going to be sore from the flight over still, you know, getting.
Tommy Yarish
Over to ducking in the stadium, waking up in the morning, period.
Josh Rodriguez
He'll fit right in in Europe. Josh, I'm going with the Vikings on this one. I just think Kevin o' Connell is the better. I don't want to say the better coach. I think he's going to have his team better prepared to go against the Steelers.
Kyle Yeomans
I don't think I could go against them after what they did last week. Give me the Vikings to win this game. Nebby, what you got?
Patrick No See Walker
Yeah, well, believe it or not, I am going to go against the grain here. I'm going to respectfully disagree with you all. I'm picking the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kyle Yeomans
I like it. And you're not alone. Patrick. Patrick also picked the Steelers this week. I don't have Isaiah's pick. We'll. We'll fill the. That in on the back end. All right, moving on. Eagles at Buccaneers. This is an interesting game. Two teams that survived last week and remain undefeated on the season. The Buccaneers, one of three teams in the NFL that have not had a turnover to this point in the season. Josh, I'll let you start.
Josh Rodriguez
I love Baker Mayfield. I truly do. He always does the opposite of what.
Kyle Yeomans
Real hot, Rol right now.
Josh Rodriguez
He's so hot, man. Right now. I'm going to go with the opposite of Baker Mayfield because he's just going to do the opposite of what I'm going to do. So the other team, not the Buccaneers.
Patrick No See Walker
Well, Philly is obviously one of the best teams in football. In fact, these are obviously two of the best teams in football. Football. But the Eagles are the reigning champs. They've been finding ways to win. It hurts me to do this, but I'm going with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kyle Yeomans
I am not. I'm going with the Buccaneers. Give me Tampa Bay to get it done at home.
Josh Rodriguez
The Fighting Bakes.
Tommy Yarish
The Bakers, this is, this has really been, this is going to be a really good game. First of all, Eagles have really struggled offensively and it's kind of weird to watch because they have not gotten, we have not found a way to get their receivers involved in the passing game. And Saquon Barkley is not off to as good of a start as he was last year. Granted, it's hard to replicate that, so I'm going to take the bucks here in an upset. I think a lot of people are favoring the Eagles and what they're doing offensively. They're just finding ways to win. They have found ways to win the last three weeks, and it's been close, really, for both teams. They've both found ways to win, and I think Tampa Bay gets it done again.
Kyle Yeomans
You know who hasn't struggled offensively? Indiana Jones in the Indianapolis Colts looking like a contender in the AFC all of a sudden. By the way, Patrick picked the Buccaneers, but Colts and Rams, Colts at three and, oh, one of those other two teams along with Tampa Bay that has not committed a turnover and that's with Danny Dimes at quarterback. And he actually is Danny Dimes.
Josh Rodriguez
He's doing his thing.
Kyle Yeomans
Indiana Jones now, it's different nickname. Yeah, I'm going to take the Rams, though, to end that streak. I think the Rams are the better team. I think they're deeper and I think they've got, of course, Sean McVay who does not want to fall the two and two. Tommy.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, I'm going to keep it rolling with the Colts. You know, I think it's kind of misleading about them is the first three teams they've played, Miami and Tennessee being two of them. So, you know, they've got, they've got it rolling early on and Jonathan Taylor is playing really, really well. But I think what, what tells it to me is that Denver game where they're able to go on the road or, excuse me, they're able to beat them at home. And that's a tough Denver defense. And Danny Dimes has been, Danny picks at times in some, in some points in his career. And I think Denver's got the best secondary in the league. So if they can protect Daniel Jones and kind of can Jared Verse a little bit, I think the Colts can win this one game.
Josh Rodriguez
That name, Jared Verse, I think he's mad. I think he's real mad. He got his chain taken his grandmama. Give me that chain. Anyways, I'm going with the Rams.
Kyle Yeomans
Nebby.
Patrick No See Walker
I, I, I am also going with The Los Angeles Rams.
Kyle Yeomans
Patrick's going with the Rams too. He also has the Raiders in this next matchup, taking on the Chicago Bears. Both teams at 1 and 2. However, both teams kind of resurgent in their win recently. Tommy, I'll let you start.
Tommy Yarish
Yeah, it's an interesting game. It's two offenses that have fine of kind of found their footing, but defensively there's a lot of question marks. I think Chicago's gotten more of the horses on defense than Los Angeles. So I'm going to go with the Bears here.
Kyle Yeomans
Give me the Raiders here to win it at home. Yeah, yeah, the Raiders, they are not helping Ashton Ginty out really. At all. No.
Tommy Yarish
Poor guy. He has like 0.5 yards before.
Kyle Yeomans
Before contact.
Tommy Yarish
Unbelievable season.
Kyle Yeomans
But I think at some point they're going to figure it out and I think it happens this week.
Josh Rodriguez
I don't know if you guys saw last week, but Caleb Williams looks like.
Kyle Yeomans
A phenom out there, kind of why I pretty good. I'm just. I don't think he can do it twice in a row.
Josh Rodriguez
Let me go with the Bears.
Kyle Yeomans
All right, Nebula.
Patrick No See Walker
I actually think before the season, I actually thought the Raiders were going to make the playoffs and in order for them to make the playoffs, they have to win this game. So I'm going with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Kyle Yeomans
All right, there you go. And like I said, Pat went with the Raiders, New York jets and the Miami Dolphins. Somebody has to get their first win of the year and it's going to happen on Monday Night Football. Jets and Dolphins. Nebby, I'll let you start.
Patrick No See Walker
I'm going with the New York jets and I think Aaron Glenn gets his first win as an NFL head coach. So I'm going with the New York Jets.
Kyle Yeomans
Man, that's such a tough situation to go into as a head coach. But he gets Justin Fields back this week, seemingly so. That looks good. He's got a pass through concussion protocol. I think today. I think TUA still in it, currently on his side of things. But what do you think on the jets and Dolphins?
Josh Rodriguez
I think one team is. Is busting out from the seams. I think one team is just looks really bad. The jets are not great, but I think if anything they had a little momentum at the end of that game with the Bucks. They're feeling good about themselves. Ultimately resulted in a loss. Let me go with the jets here.
Kyle Yeomans
Okay.
Tommy Yarish
I think the jets are close.
Kyle Yeomans
You do?
Tommy Yarish
They're close. I think, you know, you look at the. The two of the games they've lost have been by two points to Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. Two really good offensive teams. And if they get Justin Fields back. I thought he played very well in the opener against Pittsburgh.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah, he did.
Tommy Yarish
So if, if he's taken that next step and finally is in the right scheme and in the right system, maybe Aaron Glenn is hitting his little sideline dance a little bit harder.
Kyle Yeomans
I love that.
Tommy Yarish
That was awesome. So I'm taking the jets in this game.
Kyle Yeomans
I think I'm going to take the jets too. I really do. I. I just think. Think kind of like what Tommy said. They nearly and probably should have beaten the Buccaneers last week. They had the block kick that kind of helped them get back in it and ultimately was in that game all the way through. Give me the jets and I just don't football game.
Josh Rodriguez
I don't think they have the better coach at all. Miami is just unraveling.
Kyle Yeomans
They're. They're a mess. They really are. And it's not in. It's not all on to in that offensive situation. A defense is not great either. Like they're just kind of a mess.
Josh Rodriguez
Daniel doesn't have a clue, right?
Kyle Yeomans
Not right now.
Josh Rodriguez
I feel bad for him.
Kyle Yeomans
All right. The game we've all been waiting for. It's the Packers, Micah Parsons and of course this cheesehead sort of mentality making its invasion into AT&T Stadium. A month after being traded, Micah returns. The packers are 2 and 1. They're angry after a loss last week to the Cleveland Browns in heartbreaking fashion. 13:10 was the final score. It's going to be a Sunday Night Football matchup to remember one way or the other. Which way do you think it's going to go, Nabi? Cowboys, packers give us your your winner and your score.
Patrick No See Walker
Again. It hurts me to have to do this but the fact of the matter is right now I just do not. I trust our defense. So even though I hope I'm wrong, I'm going with my Dad's. Green Bay Packers 31 20. I'm so sorry guys but again, I hope I'm one the of 100% wrong.
Kyle Yeomans
I agree with you. Great job, Nebby. Thank you for calling as always. We will talk to you again down the line. And it's rare that we have a fan pick against the Cowboys almost always. Even in the big time games, even in the games that it seems like Dallas is a heavy underdog, you still see the fans end up taking the Cowboys. Not this week. Nebby says I know ball and it's 3120 packers. This week. All right, Josh. What you got?
Josh Rodriguez
This is a tough one, man. This is tough. I mean, you want to be right? You want to. My heart and my brain are telling me different things. At least here I gotta go with my gut. My gut says the Dallas Cowboys will win this game.
Kyle Yeomans
Wow.
Josh Rodriguez
33, 31 in a tight game.
Kyle Yeomans
That would be awesome. I actually.
Josh Rodriguez
Cowboys, in the immortal words of one Hekma Harrison. Okay, Cowboys nation, I hope your team wins.
Kyle Yeomans
There you go. You can catch Heckma on mix shots every day Monday through Friday. I'm kind of in the same boat where my gut actually feels kind of good about this game. I don't have the bubble guts for this game. I did last week. I said it last week. Even though Chicago was 02 and they weren't playing very well, I still kind of felt like there was something off about that game.
Josh Rodriguez
I have the Bee Gees for gb.
Kyle Yeomans
No, that's a good one. Not this week. But I still am going to pick the packers just because I've watched enough of the film to see that this Cowboys team is too far away. Even though I think it's going to be close and I think they're going to have a shot to win this game late. I didn't. I didn't see the blowout happening last week, but it kind of felt like it was off. I think this week's going to be a whole lot closer, but Green Bay is going to kick a game winning field goal at the end of it to win it. 27, 24. Final score. Green Bay with the win.
Tommy Yarish
Man, you guys are a lot more optimistic than I am. I think this is a complete and utter mismatch. I've been wrong before. I was wrong last week. I thought it was going to be a shootout. Last week it ended up being on one side. Look, I think Green Bay is one of the best teams in the league. I think they have the best defense in the league and they supercharged it when they added Micah Parsons and, you know, Dallas down two starting offensive linemen. They're down their best receiver. Not that George Pickens can't help carry the load. I think this is going to be way too much to handle. I think the packers win this one 35, 10.
Kyle Yeomans
35, 10. Patrick had packers winning at 37, 24, so he's right around the same thought process. Except you, you have 10 points on the board. No offense either.
Tommy Yarish
No. Well, I really think that, that, you know, if pressure is getting in on Dak, then I don't. I don't know if there's going to be a lot that he can do. He was hitting the check down well last week against Chicago. But these, these tackles, Tyler Gutton and Terrence Steele have really struggled and they're about to face the best pass rush that they'll see maybe all year.
Kyle Yeomans
Maybe all year.
Tommy Yarish
And it's one of their former teammates.
Kyle Yeomans
So who knows how to attack them?
Tommy Yarish
This is, I mean, you know, you've seen this guy in practice. They know how good he is. Right. They had to practice against him for four years and practicing against him has made them better. And now you got to deal with him. You got to deal with Rashawn Gary who now has this giant door open in front of him with Micah getting so much attention. He's got four and a half sacks already, leads the NFL and he's well on his way to beating his career high.
Kyle Yeomans
Yep.
Tommy Yarish
And yeah, I just don't, I just don't think the Cowboys have the horses in this one.
Kyle Yeomans
Yeah. And like I said at the beginning of the episode, no matter how you feel like this game is going to go, know it's going to be a highly emotional, extra charged environment at AT&T Stadium on Sunday. I'm excited for this game. Whether it's a win or a lose for the Cowboys. Cause we're going to learn a little bit more about this team. And remember what we've always said about September football. September football is where you're trying to learn about yourself. Then you can make the adjustments and continue forward. They're going to try and make adjustments this week period. Or else you're one and three. You have to win this football game this week. It's going to be a tough one against the Green Bay Packers. Packers will be here Monday, Monday morning. Almost said afternoon Monday morning. To break it down for you, win or lose, following Sunday Night Football, be sure to keep up to date with Tommy yarish on Dallas Cowboys.com he's got you covered on the website all week long. “Say it with your chest, cowboy!” – Multiple, recurring segment theme
This episode provided Cowboys fans with a comprehensive mix of optimism and realism. While some panelists held hope for a home-field upset, the consensus underscores just how much Dallas needs a spark—especially on defense—against a high-flying Packers attack. Personnel changes, a better pass rush, and a raucous stadium atmosphere are all seen as necessities, with several panelists predicting a loss if those don’t materialize. Expect a passionate performance from all involved, both in the stands and on the field.
