And in this episode I'm going to walk you through a super effective 5 minute routine I personally use that will clear your mind, sharpen your priorities and keep you moving forward. Let's get into it. Welcome Back to the $100 MBA Show. I'm your host Omar Zenholm where I deliver practical business lessons three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday to help you start, grow and scale your business. Just a quick reminder before we dive in, if you got a question like Mary, head on over to 100mba.netq to submit yours. We answer listeners questions every Wednesday. I'm not a fan of long, complicated morning routines. I run a business. I'm busy. You're busy, right? You need something quick but powerful. So here's a five minute morning routine I recommend to start your day right. My five minute morning routine is called gpp. Gratitude, Positive input and Priority. Stay with me. Number One is gratitude. You're going to spend one minute on this and what you're going to do is that you're going to write down three things you are grateful for. You can write them down, you can think about them, you can say them out loud. But I recommend writing them down because it's quite powerful. By the way, I got this from the 5 Minute Journal that you can buy and do this along with this morning routine. But basically you want to just write down or take note of three things you are grateful for. And it could be something as simple, like the coffee that's in front of you that you're about to drink in the morning. It could be something like a supportive client that you spoke to yesterday, you're just grateful for that client. Or the fact that you get to build something incredible every single day in your business. It could be something personal, like your partner in life or maybe your kids. Why does this work? Well, it shifts your brain from scarcity to, to abundance, instantly changing how you approach challenges. It's very hard for you to be truly grateful and frustrated at the same time. If you are truly grateful, you will start to melt. You start to realize, hey, I could take on anything. It's okay. Number two, positive input. Again, you're going to spend one minute on this. Most people feed their brain junk the first thing in the morning. Social media, bad news, random distractions, your inbox, okay, Remember, your inbox is other people's to dos. Instead, I want you to choose one minute of positive input. This could be a quote or an affirmation you love. This could be a paragraph from a book that really inspires you or a quick uplifting podcast snippet. For me, I watch about a minute of Jim Rohn. Jim Rohn's like the godfather of personal development. He just really inspires me. I love what he says. It gets me in the right mindset. Think of this as the fuel for your mindset. What you consume shapes how you show up. If you consume negativity and stress, you, you will be negative and stressed out. If you consume positivity and motivation, you'll be positive and motivated. It's that simple. It's just how it works. Hey, if you're running a business, you know that every time you miss a call, you're leaving money on the table. I mean, every customer conversation matters. It doesn't take much technical knowledge to hack someone, just some cheap hardware is needed. A smart 12 year old could do it. For me, ExpressVPN is a must have, non negotiable. I have it on all my devices and I use it especially when I'm traveling. Because when you're traveling and you're hooking up to the wifi, you're incredibly vulnerable. It's like the wild west. Whether you're in the airport lounge or in your hotel room or some random cafe, I'm protected. And that's super important for somebody like me who's running an online business, who's constantly signing into different accounts on different devices. ExpressVPN's got my back. Secure your online data today by visiting ExpressVPN.com MBA that's E-P R E S S V P N.com MBA to find out how you can get up to four extra months free. ExpressVPN.com MBA all right, number three, the second P in GPP is priority and it only takes three minutes to do this, so five minutes in total. And here's where it gets practical. Write down and really write it down. One thing you will complete today. The one action that will move the needle in your business. Not 10 things, not your full to do list. One thing. If there was only one thing you got done today, what would you want it to be? Then take a moment and close your eyes and visualize yourself completing it successfully. And write down, I will complete this today, no matter what. I will tell you that this alone has helped me tremendously over the last decade. Where I write down, I gotta get this one thing done today. If I do, it's a win today. It's a successful day and I will do everything I can to make sure I get it done before I go to bed. I don't go to bed until this is done and dusted. Now, the visualization part is important because you actually have to believe you can do it. Okay? They say I'll believe it when I see it. Well, in business is actually you'll believe it when you see it in your mind. So you got to imagine it first and really visualize you completing it so that you're just expecting this to happen. Here's a bonus tip. Stack it with a habit you already have. Attach this routine to something automatic, like when you're having your breakfast. This is what I do, right? When you're having your coffee while your computer boots up or after brushing your teeth, just link it to something that will happen no matter what every morning. And the consistency really makes it easy when you link it to something like that. So for example, I link it to my morning coffee because I have morning coffee every day. No matter what I'm doing, where I am traveling, not traveling. I start the day with coffee. So I know that that's when I do this routine. Mary and everyone else who's wondering. It's not about having the perfect routine. It's about starting your day with intention, not reaction. Making sure you are in control. You are choosing how you start your day. That five minutes. It's a message to yourself. You're in control. You got this. You can do this. And when you start your day like that, the rest of the day unfolds differently and with ease.
