I think that United Kingdom, like every other country, they want to. They want to be go shopping in the United States of America. China wants to very much wants to make a deal. They all do. Every country wants to make a deal and not the ones they had in the past where we were being ripped off by every country, practically without exception in the entire world. And those days are over.

You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson. Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update. Ben Ferguson with you. And here are the three big stories you need to know about. First up, a major win for the president of the United States of America as the Supreme Court stays the lower court ruling allowing Donald Trump and the transgender ban in the military to proceed. What happens next? I'll have that for you in just a second. Up next, Tom Homan making it very clear after police officers were attacked by illegal immigrants in New York that we are going to flood sanctuary cities with ICE agents and we will go after illegal immigrants at their places of work. How big of an impact will this have? You'll hear from Tom Homan in just a moment. And finally, Trump administration has come in and shut down the CDC's infection control committee. They were in charge of many of the guidelines during COVID 19 outbreak that were ridiculous and had no basis in science. The community is obviously fighting back and I'll give you those details as well. Before we get to those stories, I want to tell you about the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Did you know, just like here in the US Israel has their own Independence Day. In case you missed it, this year's Israel Independence Day was a few days ago on May 1. But for the people of Israel, freedom is nothing more than a daily struggle just to survive. There's no real peace, only terror, no joy, just suffering. Even as rockets have hit their airport in the last few days, the Israeli government recognizes the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews for ongoing help to make sure the elderly, the sick, the wounded, soldiers and the impoverished families don't fall through the cracks. That is why your gift to the fellowship today is so important and will provide life saving aid, medicine, hearty meals, safety and comfort. I believe that when we bless the people of Israel, we unlock God's blessing in our lives as well. So show your support for Israel's independence by making a life saving gift today. Call IFCJ at 888488. IFCJ. That's 888-488-4325 or go online to IFCJ.org that's IFCJ.org story number one, the Supreme Court gave President Donald Trump a very big victory on Tuesday by allowing him to exclude openly transgender individuals from the military. In a brief order, the Supreme Court justices granted an emergency request from the Trump administration to lift a nationwide blocking the policy. According to the latest breaking news outside of the court, the court lifted the temporary injunction and while litigation will continue, it is likely that the policy will in fact stay in place. Quote the order says the application for stay presented to Justice Kagan and by her referred to the court is granted now. The March 27 preliminary injunction entered by the United States District Court for the Western District of D.C. is stayed pending the deposition of the appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Supreme Court Justices Sotomayor Elena Kagan and Kianji Brown Jackson would deny the application, the order concluded. Breaking news is this the Supreme Court will allow the Trump administration's transgender military ban to take effect. The Trump administration argued in its filing that stalling the policy could hinder U.S. military readiness and asked the Supreme Court to block the lower court's ruling halting the ban. The justice asked the plaintiffs in the case to file a response by next week indicating that they could move quickly on the issue. The Trump administration's request that the Supreme Court unblock its policy on not allowing transgender troops in the military comes after the US District Judge Benjamin Settle issued a preliminary injunction preventing the Trump administration from removing transgender troops from the military while the litigation was ongoing. Now this all goes back to January 27, when Trump issued that executive order prioritizing what he described as military excellence and readiness over DEI and the woke agenda of the Biden administration. He stated that the policy of the US Government is to, quote, establish high standards for troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity and integrity. This policy is inconsistent with the medical, surgical and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria, the executive order added at the time, saying, quote, this policy is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual's sexual on February 7, the Secretary of Defense, Pete Headseth, issued a directive which paused the all new accessions of individuals with a history of gender dysphoria. The directive also paused all unscheduled scheduled or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition, quote, unquote. Now you may remember that the U.S. air Force Academy hosted a, quote, transgender Pentagon official for a symposium on inclusion. Our military at the time was clearly focused on transgender dogma while wars were raging on two continents. And this is exactly why the President of the United States of America said, we're not doing this anymore.

All too often I hear leaders talk about providing everyone with dignity and respect like it's an aspirational goal. That's not good enough. Dignity and respect, the bare minimum. It's the floor of where we can be. We must set our sights higher and focus on intentional inclusivity because there are still far too many people out there, not just LGBTQ individuals, that feel marginalized, shut out or discriminated against. So for all of you out there, I ask you to set out your symbols of pride. Share your pronouns in your email, particularly if you're a person who doesn't think they need to initiate difficult conversations about racial and gender barriers, and share a bit of your vulnerability in a way that draws others in. You all have the power to take intentionally inclusive actions to ensure the multiple perspectives that we know make us stronger as we devise winning war fighting strategies get heard.

That was what the last administration valued instead of readiness of our troops. A Rasmussen survey, by the way, conducted between January 29th and 30th and February 2nd found that likely voters 54% voters approved of Trump's executive order to ban transgender troops from military service, including 38% who strongly approved of the policy. The bottom line Donald Trump said, we're out with the Biden radical agenda and we're going back to what our military is supposed to do keep us safe. Next story number two the Trump administration has announced a significant escalation immigration enforcement targeting sanctuary cities Tom Holman stating that if local jurisdictions continue to resist cooperation with federal immigration authorities, the federal government will respond by increasing the presence of ICE agents in these Homan emphasized that sanctuary cities are, quote, going to get exactly what they don't want, more agents in their community and warn that ICE is prepared to double the man force if we have to to carry out the enforcement actions. Now this intensified approach includes a focus on work site enforcement. The White House says Homan indicated that if ICE agents are unable to make arrests in jails or on the streets due to local non cooperation with law enforcement in the court, then they will increase operations at workplaces. He stated. If we can't do it in the streets, we're going to increase worksite enforcement operations in those sanctuary cities and we're going to flood work site enforcement operations. Now these statements have sparked, quote, controversy. The media claims and immigration advocacy groups are fighting back, arguing that such aggressive enforcement tactics could, quote, strain community relations and lead to the targeting of non criminal undocumented immigrants. Now this comes as the media also freaked out saying that Donald Trump took all of the fun out of Cinco de Mayo. Why? Because many cities canceled or downplayed their Cinco de Mayo events for fear of ICE raids and deportations. Chicago residents and the president of their local community group said that people in the Hispanic community are, quote, very scared of gathering in public, with some even considering going back to Mexico on their own. By the way, that is absolutely what the Trump administration is saying they want to happen. Quote, our people are very scared. Honestly, they're saying they don't want to go to work. They have to go to work because they have to feed their families. So if they both were working, now, one person is working as to why they canceled the Cinco de Mayo parade in Chicago's little village, which attracts up to 300,000 people annually. Escobar said that too many people are just afraid. How about the parade? How about the festivities? And they say, well, if we're scared to go to work, I' I don't think it's nothing to celebrate. So that took us to the decision over money. We all see this country as picking up people with no criminal records, he claims, which is actually not true. If you come to the United States of America illegally, you are a criminal. Back to the statement. And honestly, it's a horrible way we have seen in my last 45 years, I've been living here in the U.S. nothing like it. And so let's just be clear. This is exactly what the president of the United States of America wanted. He wanted illegal immigrants to not feel safe staying in the US he wanted them to be looking over his shoulder and is hoping that many will be deporting themselves, whether it's Chicago or Philadelphia, many other cities, even in Oregon, the Latino Fest was also canceled there as the executive director of the Latino Community association said there's just too much fear among illegal immigrants, or as he described them, migrants of being identified or detained simply for participating in our cultural celebrations of Cinco de Mayo. Democrats are also blaming Donald Trump for the, quote, economic impact, saying the cancellations have had significant economic repercussions. In Chicago, the Chamber of Commerce put out a statement estimating a loss of approximately 1.5 million in direct income for the city and between 5 and 6 million for local businesses due to the parade's cancellation on Cinco de Mayo. Now, all of this complaining comes at a time with a shocking video has come out showing illegal immigrants attacking police officers. In New York, Tom Homan, sitting down with Laura Ingram on Fox, talking about his plan to flood ICE workforce in sanctuary cities. Take a listen.
Tom Homan
Game's over. We're going to look for these public safety threats and we're going to take them off the streets in New York and every other sanctuary city. Matter of fact, every sanctuary city, we're going to triple the workforce. We're going to flood the zone with officers. If we can't arrest them in jail, we'll arrest them in the community. If we can't arrest them in the community, we'll arrest them at their work site. We're going to triple work site enforcement operations. We're going to flood the zone. We're going to take these public safety threats off the streets with your help or without your help.

One thing's for sure. Law and order is back and the President of the United States of America is encouraging all of those in positions of power around him to do the will of the people, which is to get rid of illegal immigrants in this country. And finally, story number three. In a very strong move, the Trump administration has shut down the CDC's infection control committee. It was a four member committee and they were all terminated. The administration making it very clear that the federal advisory committee that issued guidance about preventing the spread of infectious diseases in health care facilities was pretty much worthless. Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee crafted national standards for hand washing, mask wearing and isolating sick patients that Most of the U.S. hospitals follow, four committee members said. The center for Disease Control and Prevention delivered the news about the termination to its members on Friday. A letter reviewed now by NBC News, which members said the CDC sent out after a virtual meeting, saying the termination took effect more than a month previously on March 31st first. According to the letter, the termination aligns with President Donald Trump's executive order calling for a reduction of the federal workforce. Four professional societies previously asked the Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In a letter on March 26 to preserve the committee amid widespread cuts to federal health agencies. The CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately respond to requests for comment from NBC News. Yes, you can laugh at that. Several of the committee's web pages have already been archived, meaning they are still available to view online but are no longer being updated. Some members now say they fear its guidelines will be frozen in time, unable to evolve with new scientific research or the spread of drug resistant organisms, which are a particular threat to hospitals, saying at some point when things need to change, the guidelines likely won't change at all and then people be sort of flying by the seat of their pants. That is what one of the board members said about what just happened. But in reality, the president and many others said, well, you guys messed up the last time so big no one would trust you anyway. So it's time for us to get rid of some of the waste, fraud and abuse yet again in our government, even at the CDC. Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson. Summary of "BIG WIN for POTUS in the Military plus ICE coming after Sanctuary Cities"
The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson
Release Date: May 7, 2025
The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson, hosted by Ben Ferguson and produced by Premiere Networks, delves into the latest political headlines with a keen focus on the President's administration, policies, and agenda. In the episode titled "BIG WIN for POTUS in the Military plus ICE coming after Sanctuary Cities," released on May 7, 2025, Ferguson explores three pivotal stories shaping the current political landscape: a Supreme Court decision favoring the transgender military ban, intensified immigration enforcement targeting sanctuary cities, and the Trump administration's termination of the CDC's infection control committee.
Overview:
A significant legal victory for President Donald Trump emerged when the Supreme Court decided to allow the lower court ruling to proceed, thereby permitting the administration's policy to exclude openly transgender individuals from military service.
Key Details:
Supreme Court Decision:
The Supreme Court justices issued a brief order granting an emergency request from the Trump administration to lift the nationwide injunction that previously halted the transgender military ban. This decision suggests that the policy will likely remain in effect, despite ongoing litigation.
"Breaking news is this the Supreme Court will allow the Trump administration's transgender military ban to take effect." ([08:57])
Administration's Argument:
The Trump administration contended that stalling the policy could impede U.S. military readiness. They emphasized the need to prioritize military excellence and readiness over what they described as the Biden administration's "woke agenda."
"The policy of the US Government is to, establish high standards for troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity and integrity." ([06:45])
Historical Context:
The policy traces back to January 27, when Trump issued an executive order emphasizing military readiness and later directives by the Secretary of Defense to pause accessions of individuals with a history of gender dysphoria.
Public Opinion:
A Rasmussen survey conducted between January 29 and February 2 revealed that 54% of likely voters approved of Trump's executive order banning transgender troops, with 38% strongly approving.
"A Rasmussen survey... found that likely voters 54% voters approved of Trump's executive order to ban transgender troops from military service, including 38% who strongly approved of the policy." ([10:07])
Host’s Commentary:
Ben Ferguson highlighted the administration's stance on military readiness versus inclusivity:
"All too often I hear leaders talk about providing everyone with dignity and respect like it's an aspirational goal. That's not good enough... We must set our sights higher and focus on intentional inclusivity..." ([09:03])
Despite Ferguson's call for higher standards of inclusivity, he emphasizes the administration's priority on military competence and readiness.
Overview:
In response to attacks on police officers by illegal immigrants in New York, the Trump administration announced a heightened immigration enforcement strategy aimed specifically at sanctuary cities. This move intends to increase the presence of ICE agents and target undocumented immigrants at their workplaces.
Key Details:
Administration’s Plan:
Tom Homan, a spokesperson for the administration, declared the intent to "flood sanctuary cities with ICE agents," emphasizing that if arrests cannot be made through traditional means, law enforcement will pivot to worksite operations.
"We're going to triple the workforce. We're going to flood the zone with officers. If we can't arrest them in the streets, we're going to increase worksite enforcement operations." ([14:57])
Impact on Communities:
The aggressive enforcement tactics have led to the cancellation or downplaying of cultural events such as Cinco de Mayo parades in cities like Chicago and Oregon. The fear of ICE raids has instilled anxiety within undocumented communities, affecting community gatherings and economic activities.
"People in the Hispanic community are, very scared of gathering in public, with some even considering going back to Mexico on their own." ([12:30])
Economic Consequences:
The cancellation of significant events like the Cinco de Mayo parade in Chicago's Little Village has resulted in substantial economic losses, estimated between $1.5 million to $6 million for local businesses.
"The Chamber of Commerce... estimated a loss of approximately 1.5 million in direct income for the city and between 5 and 6 million for local businesses." ([13:45])
Public and Media Reaction:
Immigration advocacy groups and media outlets have criticized the administration's approach, arguing that such measures may strain community relations and unfairly target non-criminal undocumented immigrants.
"Democrats are also blaming Donald Trump for the, 'economic impact,' saying the cancellations have had significant economic repercussions." ([13:50])
Host’s Commentary:
Ben Ferguson underscores the administration's commitment to law and order:
"Law and order is back and the President of the United States of America is encouraging all of those in positions of power around him to do the will of the people, which is to get rid of illegal immigrants in this country." ([15:24])
He juxtaposes this stance against community fears and economic repercussions, illustrating the complex dynamics at play.
Overview:
In a move signaling a shift in public health policy, the Trump administration dissolved the CDC’s Infection Control Committee. This committee was responsible for establishing national guidelines on infection prevention in healthcare facilities, including protocols for hand washing, mask-wearing, and patient isolation.
Key Details:
Termination Details:
The CDC issued a letter to the committee members notifying them of the termination, effective March 31. This action aligns with President Trump’s executive order aimed at reducing the federal workforce.
"The termination aligns with President Donald Trump's executive order calling for a reduction of the federal workforce." ([12:15])
Implications for Public Health:
Former committee members express concerns that the shutdown will halt the evolution of critical infection control guidelines, potentially leaving hospitals unprepared to handle emerging threats like drug-resistant organisms.
"They fear its guidelines will be frozen in time, unable to evolve with new scientific research or the spread of drug-resistant organisms." ([16:45])
Administration’s Justification:
The administration claimed that the committee was ineffective, attributing its dissolution to efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse within the government, including at the CDC.
"In reality, the president and many others said, well, you guys messed up the last time so big no one would trust you anyway." ([16:50])
Host’s Commentary:
Ben Ferguson criticizes the administration's handling of public health advisory bodies:
"The CDC... pretty much worthless... it's time for us to get rid of some of the waste, fraud and abuse yet again in our government, even at the CDC." ([15:00])
Ferguson highlights the potential risks associated with dismantling established public health frameworks, emphasizing the importance of adaptable and science-based guidelines.
In this episode of The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson, the host navigates through three major political developments:
Supreme Court's Decision on Transgender Military Ban: A legal triumph for the Trump administration, reinforcing their stance on military readiness over inclusivity policies.
Enhanced Immigration Enforcement in Sanctuary Cities: Aggressive ICE operations leading to community fears, canceled cultural events, and economic setbacks, reflecting the administration's stringent immigration policies.
Dissolution of CDC's Infection Control Committee: A controversial move undermining established public health guidelines, raising concerns about future disease prevention and control efforts.
Throughout the episode, Ben Ferguson provides critical analysis and emphasizes the administration's priorities, juxtaposing them against public sentiment and potential long-term implications. Notable quotes from key figures and Ferguson himself are interwoven to offer listeners a comprehensive understanding of these pivotal issues shaping America today.
