You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Welcome. It is the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson on this very special Good Friday. We have three big stories for you this morning. And first up, Donald Trump has developed a plan to pay illegal immigrants to self deport. I'll have those details for you in a second. Up next, in a shocking move, major networks refused to take the White House briefing where angel mother Patty Marin recounted the terrible tragedy of how an illegal killer decided to take her daughter's life. We are going to have that story for you because they wouldn't air it. And finally, we're joined by the EPA administrator Lee Zeldin as he talks about terminating Biden Harris $20 billion in wasteful spending and grants that he described as throwing gold bars off the titanic. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. Story number one, get ready to celebrate. Donald Trump has come out with a new plan to pay illegal migrants to self deport and it could save you hundreds of billions of dollars. President Trump saying it's time to help illegal immigrants self deport from the United States. Why? Well, this is happening as Democrats have launched a massive resistance. The President making it very clear saying, quote, we're doing a self deportation program and we're going to make it comfortable for people and we're going to work with those people to come back into our country legally, the good ones. That is what Donald Trump said to the Spanish language division of Fox News. Trump made it very clear he's deciding how the program is going to work. It could be giving people stipends or even giving people some money and a plane ticket. And we're going to work, he says, with the illegal immigrants who are willing to self deport. He also said this. If they're good, if we want them back in, we're going to work with them to get them back in as quickly as we can. Now, this may be the carrot that the president is dangling, saying, yeah, you leave and you self deport quickly and this administration will remember that when you try to come back. The idea of paying illegal immigrants to leave isn't a bad idea in principle is also part of what the president had to say.
Donald Trump
As you probably know, we're doing a self deportation and we're going to make it comfortable for people and we're going to work with those people to come back into our country legally. Is stuffing the good ones. Estafung Hernando Lauto deportation well, we're starting it. We haven't started it right now. We're getting the murderers out. We, we have our, we have our total aim when the very bad ones, as you can imagine, because you have some great people that came in, but we have some very bad ones. We had 11,088 murderers, half of them killed more than one person. These are rough, bad people. We want them out and that's mostly our focus. Yeah, but what we want to do is we're going to have a self deportation program which we haven't even announced yet. I guess I'm announcing it to you, why not, Rachel? Here it is. The only thing I haven't determined is what are we going to do? We're going to give them a stipend, going to give them some money and a plane ticket and then we're going to work with them if, if they're good, if we want them back in, we're going to work with them to get them back in as quickly as we can.
Ben Ferguson
Now, some of you may be asking, why would we actually help people deport, pay them to deport themselves? Well, it's a numbers game is what it basically comes down to. Trump's top immigration aide, Stephen Miller said the deputies are working to do whatever they can to get the more than 15 million illegals who came in during Joe Biden's presidency out of the country. He also said these 15 million illegals are competing for work and housing against roughly 320 million Americans. Christine the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security estimates the overall legal migrant population is now 21 million strong. TRUMP officials are reviving laws that require migrants to register with the government. They're canceling visas and enabling border militarization. They are canceling Social Security numbers, empowering states and local law enforcement agencies to arrest illegal immigrants. And they're better coordinating the enforcement of anti crime laws. Trump is also facing protests from white collar supporters who are being pushed out of jobs and careers by counterproductive H1B visa program for mixed killed foreign workers. At least 1.5 million migrants hold white collar jobs legally and illegally throughout the US Economy. So now you may understand why the president's advocate for this now. He's saying the faster we can get illegal immigrants out, the better it is for American workers and for our bottom line as taxpayers. Yes, some are going to find this controversial, but when you understand the magnitude of how many illegal immigrants are taking away from Americans, you understand this may be the best check taxpayers have ever written.
Next, story number two.
There was an extremely powerful moment inside the White House press briefing room that happened and it was shameful to witness CNN and msnbc, for example, refuse to take the angel mom, Patty Morin story as she recounts the terrible tragedy of how an illegal immigrant killed her beautiful daughter, Rachel. This story should have been a story that the media covered, but what did they do? Many in the media decided not to cover it at all because they didn't want you to hear her story. We're gonna play that story for you right now. It is an important one. And I hope every one of you will share this podcast wherever you can on social media so that everyone can hear exactly what this age your mom, Patty Marin of Maryland, told to the American people, as she described it, it's the whole story of her daughter and what happened.
Caller
A lot of you don't know the whole story about Rachel and about the crime that was committed against her. Even us, her family. We didn't know all the details. They kept most of it close to their chest, the detectives, because they didn't want to do anything to hurt the case. They wanted to keep the integrity of the case. So they kept everything close. I sat for the last two weeks in her trial and we saw layer upon layer upon layer of evidence against the accused, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador and The things that we thought, well, maybe this might have happened, we didn't know. But when we were at the trial, we got all the puzzle pieces and I want to share some of those things with you. You know that Rachel's a 37 year old mother. She has five children. We've walked the trail for the last 25 years that we've lived in Maryland. It's a safe place for our family. It's where we go to get a little bit of New England, because that's where we're from, New England. When she went on that trail that day, she was not planning on dying. She wasn't planning on walking to her death. She was planning on going to the grocery store with her girls. Afterwards. Victor Martinez, he waited for her. He waited for her to come closer. He saw her, he saw that there was nobody around. He attacked her. He dragged her 150ft, blood gushing from her head. It left 150 foot trail of her blood to the culverts where he took, he picked her up, he threw her against the wall of the tunnel and he raped her. But before he did that, he stopped on that trail. Rocks still stained with her blood. He used them to hammer her head against those rocks. They say 20, at least 20 times. They could count the cuts in her head. They said that when they did the autopsy. And I've seen the pictures. There's a six inch square in the back of her head where the skull is shattered the way that you would crush an eggshell in pieces. Three fourths of her brain hemorrhaged her right and left side of her face. Bashed in her beautiful face, bashed in her head, bashed in. Broken bones, fractures. He takes and he drags her some more. He drags her through the thorn bushes. She has all the scrapes and cuts on her body. There wasn't one inch of her body that didn't have some kind of injury. Whether it's bruising, broken bones, contusions, the scratches. She had a fractured rib, fractured nose, fractured skull. And then he takes her into the tunnel and he picks her up. He throws her against the wall. Blood is gushing from her head. Her hair is soaked in blood. And they showed us pictures of her body against the wall. Outline the blood outlined her body and you could see where the blood ran down around her as he was raping her. And then he threw her down and raped her some more. And then he strangled her because he didn't want her to be able to live to tell the story. They said that when they did the autopsy on her neck, that one of the things they do is they open up the neck and they look to see how far the injury is, and they went all the way down as far as an injury as possible. Hemorrhaging in the muscles because of how strong and violent the group was around her. These are the kind of people that have no, no compulsion. Like, to them, this is nothing. And when he was sitting in the courtroom, he actually looked like he thought he was going to be set free. There was no remorse on his face at all. This person took my daughter so violently and so gruesomely and so graphically that they sealed the pictures because I don't want my granddaughters to see these pictures. These are the kind of criminals President Trump wants to remove from our country. These are the kind of criminals that we need to remove from our country. We are American citizens. Why should we allow people like this, violent criminals that have no conscience at all, to murder our mothers, our sisters, our daughters? I don't understand.
Ben Ferguson
I hope every one of you listening to Patty Moran's story, and it's excruciating to listen to, will share it with your family and your friends. Because the reality is millions of foreign men have come across the border illegally in recent years as got aways as catching releases under the Biden administration. There was little, in fact, zero concern for media and activists about vetting back then of the people coming into this country, including those on the terrorist watch list. And now, all of a sudden, what are the Democrats doing? They're scrutinizing every person that's being deported from this country, and they're standing up for them instead of Patty Morin's daughter. I hope that this story is a reminder to all of us of exactly what Donald Trump is fighting for. And it's people like Patty and her family instead of the Ms. 13 gang members that are being sent to El Salvador.
And here is story number three.
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin sat down with me and Senator Ted Cruz for the podcast that we do together called Verdict with Ted Cruz. And he has criticized the Biden administration's management of the $20 billion greenhouse gas reduction fund, known as GGRF, liking it to throwing gold bars off the Titanic. I want you to hear from the EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, in his own words, about the waste, fraud, and abuse that he is uncovering and stopping at the EPA.
Caller
EPA's annual budget is about $10 billion. So far, I've canceled $22 billion worth of grants. And how is that possible, one might ask. Well, in 2024, the amount that EPA obligated and spent was over $60 billion. A lot of money came through the Inflation Reduction act when Democrats were in charge of Congress, and a lot of that money went through epa. They created these green slush funds, and in one case, $20 billion, which they couldn't get out on their own fast enough. They ended up parking at an outside bank towards the end of the Biden administration to give through eight pass through NGOs. Many of them were brand new. One is that Stacey Abrams linked NGO that received 2 billion even though they only received $100 in 2023. And because of self dealing.
Senator Ted Cruz
Wait, hold on a second. They went from $100 to $2 billion.
Caller
How crazy is that? And then on page seven of their grant agreement, the Biden EPA gives them 90 days to complete a training called how to develop a Budget. Now, if you feel like this, you.
Senator Ted Cruz
Know, with $2 billion, you don't need much of a budget, just spend on whatever you want.
Caller
Oh, I'll add another dynamic to it. On page one of the grant agreement, they have 21 days to start spending the money. So from day zero, they have 21 days to start Spending money. They have 90 days to complete a training called how to develop a Budget.
Senator Ted Cruz
Look, this is insane. And you described what you found as essentially $20 billion in gold bars that were being thrown off the Titanic, that the Biden administration, they realized, oh, no, Trump is coming in. Let's just throw this all out the window. I mean, is that what you found?
Caller
That's exactly what happened. And what alerted Senate Republicans like Senator Cruz. This was something that Senator Cruz and I spoke about back in December when we met before my confirmation hearing. There was this video that came out of a Biden EPA political appointee, a Biden EPA political appointee talking about how they were tossing gold bars off the Titanic, rushing to get billions of dollars out the door before inauguration.
Senator Ted Cruz
This was a Biden phrase.
Caller
That was. It was the Biden EPA political appointee.
Senator Ted Cruz
Oh, I thought that was you being clever. They called it that. You got to be kidding me.
Ben Ferguson
That.
Caller
Yes. And they were doing it with an eye towards getting themselves jobs at the recipient NGOs. So this was us fulfilling a commitment to figure out, well, go find the gold bars. A commitment to bringing those gold bars back into the treasury on behalf of the American taxpayer.
Ben Ferguson
Not only is Zeldin taking the steps to terminate the grant, citing concerns over the program's integrity, potential fraud and misalignment with the EPA's priority. But he also emphasized that the agency will not tolerate the wasteful spending of your tax dollars, and now they're aiming to reallocate funds with enhanced oversight. He also said that the president has empowered him to make sure the EPA is doing what its actual job is, instead of being a radical organization that's been hijacked by the left.

The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson: Episode Summary
Episode Title: Cash for Exit Trump's Deportation Plan, an Angel Mother's Grief & the EPA Fights Back
Release Date: April 18, 2025
Host: Ben Ferguson
Publisher: Premiere Networks
Introduction
In this compelling episode of The 47 Morning Update, hosted by Ben Ferguson, listeners are presented with three pivotal stories shaping the current American political landscape. Released on a special Good Friday, the episode delves into former President Donald Trump's innovative deportation strategy, the harrowing personal tragedy faced by Patty Marin, an angel mother, and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin's crusade against what he deems $20 billion in misallocated funds under the Biden-Harris administration.
1. Donald Trump's Self-Deportation Plan
Ben Ferguson opens the discussion with Donald Trump's bold initiative to address illegal immigration through a self-deportation program. This plan aims to incentivize over 15 million illegal immigrants residing in the U.S. since the onset of Joe Biden's presidency to voluntarily leave the country. The strategy is posited as a cost-saving measure potentially saving taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.
Key Points:
Incentives for Self-Deportation: Trump proposes providing stipends, monetary assistance, and plane tickets to encourage illegal immigrants to depart. He emphasizes the potential to remember and facilitate the return of "good" immigrants who wish to re-enter the country legally ([03:39]).
Addressing Illegal Immigration Impact: The administration targets the significant strain on American resources, highlighting competition for jobs and housing between illegal immigrants and approximately 320 million American citizens. Additionally, the focus extends to white-collar workers affected by the H1B visa program, with 1.5 million migrants involved in both legal and illegal capacities within the U.S. economy ([06:24]).
Policy Enforcement: Trump's team is reviving strict measures, including mandatory migrant registration, visa cancellations, border militarization, and the empowerment of local law enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants. These efforts align with broader goals to remove violent criminals, as evidenced by Trump's assertion:
“We have our total aim when the very bad ones, as you can imagine... These are rough, bad people. We want them out and that’s mostly our focus.” ([03:39])
Analysis: The plan is controversial, balancing economic arguments with national security concerns. While proponents argue it alleviates financial burdens and enhances public safety, critics may view it as coercive and ethically questionable.
2. Patty Marin’s Tragic Story and Media Silence
The second segment sheds light on the heartbreaking ordeal of Patty Marin, an angel mother from Maryland, whose daughter Rachel was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant. Ferguson criticizes major media networks for their reluctance to broadcast Marin's story, highlighting a perceived media bias against conservative narratives.
Patty Marin's Account: Patty Marin provides a detailed and emotionally charged testimony recounting the violent attack on her daughter Rachel by Victor Martinez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador. The gruesome nature of the crime is meticulously described:
Marin laments the media's failure to cover her story, stating:
“This is the kind of criminals President Trump wants to remove from our country... Why should we allow people like this, violent criminals that have no conscience at all, to murder our mothers, our sisters, our daughters?” ([07:19]).
Key Points:
Media Bias Allegation: Ferguson accuses networks like CNN and MSNBC of suppressing Marin's story to avoid highlighting the dangers posed by illegal immigrants.
Policy Implications: The narrative underscores the necessity of Trump's deportation plan, positioning it as a measure to protect American citizens from violent acts committed by undocumented individuals.
Analysis: This segment emphasizes the human cost of illegal immigration policies and critiques media impartiality. It serves to rally support for stricter immigration enforcement by personalizing the statistics through Marin's tragedy.
3. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin on Terminating Biden-Harris Spending
In the final story, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin critiques the Biden administration's management of the $20 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). Describing the mismanagement as "throwing gold bars off the Titanic," Zeldin and Senator Ted Cruz expose what they perceive as rampant waste, fraud, and abuse within the EPA's grant distribution.
Key Points:
Misallocation of Funds: Zeldin reveals that $22 billion in grants were canceled due to inefficiencies and mismanagement, despite the EPA’s annual budget being around $10 billion ([13:33]).
Inflation Reduction Act Funds: A significant portion of the $60 billion obligated in 2024 flowed through the Inflation Reduction Act, creating "green slush funds" that failed to achieve their intended environmental goals.
NGO Grants Controversy: Specific NGOs, such as one linked to Stacey Abrams, received disproportionate funding increases, exemplifying self-dealing and lack of accountability ([14:23]).
Notable Quotes:
“We have canceled $22 billion worth of grants... They created these green slush funds, and in one case, $20 billion... How crazy is that?” – EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin ([14:23]).
“They have 21 days to start spending money... 90 days to complete a training called how to develop a Budget.” – Caller ([14:41]).
Senator Ted Cruz's Input: Senator Cruz expresses incredulity at the mismanagement, reinforcing the severity of the issue:
“This was insane... They called it that. You got to be kidding me.” ([15:43]).
Zeldin’s Response: Zeldin emphasizes the commitment to reclaim taxpayer money and ensure the EPA operates with integrity:
“We are fulfilling a commitment to figure out, well, go find the gold bars... bringing those gold bars back into the treasury on behalf of the American taxpayer.” ([15:51]).
Conclusion of the Segment: Zeldin asserts that the EPA under his leadership will focus on legitimate environmental initiatives, rejecting the previous administration's radical approaches:
“The president has empowered him to make sure the EPA is doing what its actual job is, instead of being a radical organization that's been hijacked by the left.” ([16:09]).
Analysis: This segment highlights bipartisan concerns over governmental fiscal responsibility and challenges the efficacy of expansive environmental funding initiatives. It advocates for stricter oversight and reallocation of funds to prevent wasteful expenditure.
Conclusion
Ben Ferguson's The 47 Morning Update delivers an incisive examination of critical issues facing America today. From Trump's strategic immigration reforms and the personal toll of illegal immigration represented by Patty Marin's story, to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin's battle against fiscal mismanagement, the episode underscores a unified theme of accountability and policy reform. By incorporating firsthand accounts and direct quotes with precise timestamps, Ferguson ensures that the discussions are both engaging and informative, providing listeners with a comprehensive understanding of the topics at hand.
