Donald Trump
Iran is very high on my on my list of things to watch. Sent them a letter just recently and I said you're gonna have to make a decision one way or the other and we're gonna either have to talk and talk it out or very bad things are gonna happen to Iran. And I don't want that to happen. My big preference is we work it out with Iran. But if we don't work it out bad, bad things are gonna happen to Iran.

You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Good Saturday morning to you. Ben Ferguson with you. And these are some of the stories that you may have missed that we talked 47 morning update. First up, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem coming out saying we are preparing to eliminate fema. Could it be because of all the waste, fraud and abuse? Also, you may have noticed that the media is all using the same words as Democratic lawmakers to attack Elon Musk over the last week. We have a montage on that to show you just how corrupt the Democratic leadership is as and working with the media. And finally, Donald Trump says, I'm not messing around yet again, announcing 25% tariff on cars not made in the U.S. this the beginning, he says, of Liberation Day in America. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now.
Story number one, we all know that.
A core mission of the Trump administration is to truly get rid of waste, fraud and abuse. But just how bad is that, Frank? Fraud and abuse, especially when it comes to agencies like fema. Well, apparently it may be so bad now that the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem under Donald Trump is saying we are preparing to eliminate FEMA altogether. We also know that FEMA has picked winners and losers, helping some Americans when they need the emergency help and forgetting others depending on where you live in the country. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Ngum has told the Trump administration that preparations are underway, quote, to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It was a quick comment by the way on Monday with no related lead in that. According to the Hill that got this scoop, President Donald Trump responded with, quote, that's great, great job. And what seemed to be a reaction to her preceding comments on border security Now, Trump said previously that he does not have a favorable view of FEMA and has considered its elimination. Senator Peter Welch, a Democrat from Vermont, posted on X his response to Noem's statement on eliminating FEMA by saying this, Vermont has been hit hard by flooding the last two years and I'm the first person to say that we need to make improvements to fema, but eliminating it altogether would make disasters more deadly and destructive and make it much harder for communities to recover. Trump, by the way, signed an executive order last week setting the stage for a major overhaul of federal disaster relief programs. And and let's be clear, the president is not trying to eliminate disaster relief help from the federal government. He is, however, clearly trying to get rid of some of the waste and abuse of programs under FEMA's directive. It read in part, this executive order delivers on President Trump's commitment to shift power from Washington to the American people. The order laid the foundation for greater state and local control of emergencies and funding. The order enables states and local governments to better understand, plan for, and address the needs of their citizens by reducing the complexity of federal preparedness and response policies. In other words, Donald Trump is saying states know what they need and local communities know what they need in a disaster more than bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. now, there is no official closing or end date announced for FEMA or any other federal office or department that responds to disasters. Clearly, the President wants to make sure that this is done in a very responsible way and most importantly, that emergency management response from the government is much better than it is right now. You don't have to look very far back in history to see also that FEMA may have been involved in significant political actions picking winners and losers in the United States. Depending on if you're in a liberal state or a liberal city or a conservative state or a conservative city. President's made it clear that politics shouldn't matter when you're dealing with emergencies, especially when you're someone that may have lost everything, your home, your cars, and even had a job that disappeared because of a disaster. And this is exactly why the President has the backing of the American people on this issue.
Next story number two, I want to.
Take a moment and talk to you about Elon Musk. The corporate media spontaneously over the past couple weeks has come up with the same Exact talking points to undermine and attack Elon Musk. Over and over again, the media seems to be saying the same exact thing in a very clear, coordinated attempt to undermine and to hope that Elon Musk will somehow get fired from his job with Doge or quit. The media has tried to put a wedge between Elon Musk and the President on countless occasions now, trying to get them into some sort of spat. They've also tried to say that Elon Musk is actually bigger than Donald Trump, trying to play into the ego game so that Donald Trump will kick him out of the Oval Office or maybe take him out of his administration altogether. None of it has worked. In fact, I actually think that Elon Musk and Donald Trump are laughing at the fact that this is what they're trying to do. So now we've seen orchestrated attacks, clearly orchestrated attacks against Tesla, Tesla owners, car dealerships, the threat that if you buy a Tesla, your car is going to be burned or certainly damaged, that people are going to surround your car and hit you or attack you because you own a Tesla. We witnessed that over the weekend in New York City. We've seen dealerships that have been firebombed. We've seen dealerships that have literally been shot up. I thought Democrats were against guns, but apparently not now if it means shooting at a Tesla. So just how coordinated is the media and trying to destroy Elon Musk because of what he's doing to destroy our government, to get rid of the waste, fraud and abuse, the corruption of the Democratic Party, to undo all of that? Well, it looks like now they're going into a full court press where they're colluding with one another, doing everything they can to get rid of Elon Musk. If you don't believe me, we put together a montage. Take a listen.
Elon Musk's so called Department of Government Efficiency is taking a chainsaw to the federal workforce.
Elon Musk continues his chainsaw attack in Washington.
Taking a chainsaw, if you will, to.
The federal government that's, you know, decapitating a lot of lies.
Ritual Representative
They slashed and hacked with the chainsaw.
Ben Ferguson
The slashing and the burning. The chainsaw. Elon Musk with that chainsaw. I mean, he's walking around acting like.
Ritual Representative
He'S the head of Doge. He's, you know, brandishing the chainsaw. Nine months pregnant with Elon Musk.
Ben Ferguson
Chainsaw, marauding with a chainsaw.
Ritual Representative
Wait a second, Buster, put your chainsaw away.
Ben Ferguson
They cannot text federal agencies with a chainsaw.
He's Doing it in a way with a chainsaw that alienates people.
Ritual Representative
Right man, right hand chainsaw man, but.
Ben Ferguson
It has a chainsaw.
Ritual Representative
That's chainsaw stuff. Who used the chainsaw?
Ben Ferguson
Elon Musk is an unelected man child running around the country with a pretend chainsaw. That is your media, that is your Democratic party, that is them colluding together in a, quote, spontaneous moment that happened time and time and time and time again, all because they don't know how to stop Doge or Elon Musk or Donald Trump. Let me just say the majority of the American people are behind Elon Musk and his chainsaw, no matter what the corporate media tries to tell you.
And here is story number three.
President Donald Trump has made good on a promise as he announced a 25% tariff on all automobiles not manufactured in the United States, a move aimed to revitalize domestic car power production and protect American jobs. He is framing the decision as a key step towards economic independence and national strength. Trump emphasizing the importance of bringing automotive manufacturing back to American soil. Supporters of the tariff are making it clear this could lead to major resurgences in U. S Auto jobs, spur investment in American factories and level the playing field with foreign competitors who have long benefited from low production costs and trade advantages. Industry insiders are already reporting interest from automakers and expanding U S based operations to avoid the new levy quote. This is about putting America first, Trump said. Here is more of the president in his own words.
Donald Trump
Oh, this is the beginning of liberation day in America. We're going to take back just some of the money that has been taken from us by people sitting behind this desk or another desk that's not quite as nice, but they have their choice of seven, as you know. And we're going to charge countries for doing business in our country and taking our jobs, taking our wealth, taking a lot of things that they've been taking over the years. They've taken so much out of our country, friend and foe. And frankly, friend has been oftentimes much worse than foe. And this is very modest. And what we're going to be doing is a 25% tariff on all cars that are not made in the United States. If they're made in the United States, there's absolutely no tariff. We started off with a 2 1/2% base, which is what we were at, and we go to 25%. And basically, as you know and as you've been seeing, not reporting as accurately as it should be reported because it's a massive story. Business is coming back to the United States so that they don't have to pay tariffs.
Ben Ferguson
Now economists are very excited about the president's new policy, suggesting, by the way, that tariffs could reduce the trade deficit and bolster related sectors such as steel, glass and electronics. For many in manufacturing hubs, they also say, like Michigan and Ohio, the move represents hope for the return to prosperity and industrial pride. Now, the clear point the president is sending is that we are open for business and he is putting American workers ahead of foreign cheap labor, and that's good for all Americans in this country.

Violent Incidents: Recent violent actions against Tesla dealerships and owners are cited as evidence of the media-fueled hostility towards Musk's enterprises.
Coordinated Messaging: To demonstrate the media’s unified stance, Ferguson presents a montage where various commentators use the metaphor of a “chainsaw” to describe Musk’s impact on federal government agencies.
Public Support: Despite the media's efforts, Ferguson emphasizes that the majority of Americans support Musk's initiatives and leadership.

Economic Impact:
Positive Reactions: Economists cited by Ferguson express optimism that the tariff will reduce the trade deficit and boost related industries such as steel, glass, and electronics.
Manufacturing Boost: The tariff is expected to encourage automakers to expand U.S.-based operations to avoid the tax, potentially revitalizing manufacturing hubs like Michigan and Ohio.
Public and Political Support: Supporters believe this move will lead to a resurgence in American auto jobs and reinforce national economic strength by prioritizing domestic labor over cheaper foreign alternatives.
