Do you plan to escort those ships to the Strait of Pamuz with or without Alex?
Tom Homan
We're doing very well there. We're doing very well overall. You know, we don't use the Strait. We don't. The United States, we don't need it. Europe needs it. Korea, Japan, China, a lot of other people. So they'll have to get involved a little bit.

You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Good Monday morning. So nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update. And we've got one big story for you. Donald Trump has deployed ICE agents to assist TSA at U.S. airports. And now Democrats are enraged by this decision. So what does it mean for you and travel? How long are the lines? And how much worse could it get? We've got it all for you.
IFCJ Representative
But before we get to that, I want to take a moment and ask you to help the people in Israel with my friends at the IFCJ working right now on the ground for all those in need. A sacred season is approaching.

night he brought his people out of bondage and into freedom. This year, many of God's people will observe in darkness under the shadow of war across Israel, red alert sirens pierce the air. Families run to shelters with seconds to spare. Elderly men and women fear they'll be left behind. And parents are comforting their frightened children as explosions shake the night. Sleeplessness and uncertainty have become daily life in Israel. And Passover reminds us that God hears the cries of his people and answers with love and compassion. And that's why the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the ground in Israel right now. They're providing food and emergency supplies, equipping bomb shelters and caring for elderly Holocaust survivors. Just as his people once cried out for deliverance, vulnerable Israelis need your help today with your generous Passover gift. It shows you stand with God's people. And if you are ready to stand with the people of Israel, then stand with the IFCJ and help. You can call them 888-488-IFCJ. Update and it starts right now. Story number one, Donald Trump has deployed ICE agents to assist the TSA at U. S. Airports. Let me give you the latest on this crisis and how we got to the point of where we are right now. If you've gone to an airport, if you're dealing with this during spring break travel, then you've probably seen what so many are talking about. Hours, long waits at major airports around the country. And we're in the middle of a full blown TSA crisis and it's hitting travelers hard. More than 50,000 TSA agents have been working without a paycheck for over a month. I want you to think about that. The people responsible for keeping our skies safe are showing up every day doing their jobs and they're not getting a paycheck. This is all because of the Democrats wanting to defund ice. And this is their protest move, saying we're going to get rid of the Department of Homeland Security funding. They know that this is a problem. They know it's hurting people's lives and they don't care. The consequences, by the way, are exactly what you'd expect. We're now seeing thousands of TSA agents calling out every single day. At one point, more than 3,000 agents were absent in a single day. On top of that, hundreds have already quit the job, walking away from the job entirely because they simply can't afford to keep working without pay. The Result, Chaos in the airports across the country. We are talking about wait times now, stretching two hours or more, lines wrapping through terminals, families missing multiple flights, business travelers also stranded. And in some locations, absentee rates are hitting double digits, even as high as 40%, putting every American's life at risk. Let's be clear about that. Because of the anarchy and the chaos, if you're traveling, you should be angry because you're still being taxed and the services the government supposed to provide are not being given to you. And that's just the beginning. It is a strain we are now being told on national security. And that's where the story changes for me big time. Instead of waiting around for Washington gridlock to magically fix itself, President Trump showed leadership yet again, stepping in and taking action. The administration has begun to pouring hundreds of ICE agents to major airports across the country, not as a replacement for tsa, but as reinforcement. These ICE officers are helping with crowd control, ID checks and managing lines, allowing the TSA agents to focus on what matters most, actual screening and security of people getting on airplanes. President Trump put it simply. He said ICE agents would be going to airports to help with what he called our wonderful TSA agents, while also making it clear that the funding holdup is putting Americans at risk. And the administration isn't mincing words about the strategy here. Officials say the president is using every tool available to keep airports running and travelers moving, deploying already trained, already funded federal personnel to stabilize the system immediately. The borders are. Tom Homan said it directly, they're doing everything they can to help move people through the lines. And Vice President J.D. vance summed it up this way, saying ICE will help bring sanity back to our airports. And that really is the bottom line. You've got a system under pressure. Thousands of workers stretch thin long lines, rising frustration. Instead of waiting, the president is acting. It's real time response to a real time problem. And while others in Washington are arguing or holding Americans hostage, this administration is putting people on the ground, making sure that there is order and making sure Americans can travel, most importantly safely. Because at the end of the day, leadership isn't about talking, it's about acting. And that's what this White House is clearly doing. Now, there are a lot of Americans that are really upset that this has even gotten to this point. To be clear, this is all being done by design. Democrats wanted this to happen. They knew it was going to happen this way. They orchestrated it to happen this way. They wanted you to be punished as you go to the airport. They wanted you to be hurting as you go to the airport. Now, Tom Homan went on cnn. He was asked about this exactly today and what exactly it's going to look like with more of these agents moving forward. Take a listen to what Tom Homan had to say.
Interviewer
Are ICE agents even remotely trained to handle security at airports?
Tom Homan
ICE agents receive a high level of training and you know, ICE agents are assigned at many airports across the country already. They do a lot of investigation, criminal investigation on smuggling reports. But, you know, there's, I mean, there's got TS agents covering exits. You know, people that enter through the exits. You know, certainly a highly trained ICE law enforcement officer can cover an exit. Makes people don't go through those exits, entering the airport through the exits and that stuff like that relieves that TSA officer to go to screening and to reduce those lines. So wherever we can provide extra security, I don't see an ICE agent looking at an X ray machine because they're not trained in that. There are certain parts of security that TSA is doing that we can move them off those jobs and put them in the specialized jobs, help move those lines.
Interviewer
Okay, that was going to be my next question. So what you're saying is when you move ICE into airports, they are going to be just around the exits and the exteriors. They're not going to be helping people get through the lines and screening people's bags.
Tom Homan
Those discussions are going on now. I'm not expert at tsa, so that's why I'm talking to the TSA administrator and the ICE director. Find out where we can fit in. We'll have a plan by the end of today where we're sending, what airports we're starting with and where we're sending them. But that's the discussion we're having right now. I ended the discussion to do the show and I'll be back having those discussions when I finish. So it's a work in progress. But we will be at the airports tomorrow.
Ben Ferguson
You hear Tom there talking, and one of the things that's very clear about what he was saying is this isn't chaos as CNN is trying to describe it. This is American leadership. There is nothing here that you should be worried about because we're doing it the right way. Sean Duffy, the man in charge of Transportation Secretary, put it this way about what we're dealing with right now in this country because of the Democrats holding everyone hostage.
Sean Duffy
So I think as we look forward to Friday, that's when the next paycheck should come. And if this, if this Homeland Security funding isn't resolved, I think you're going to see more TSA agents as we come to Thursday, Friday, Saturday of next week. They're going to quit or they're not going to show up. A lot of the starting salaries at TSA, they're right around $50,000. So if you live in, you know, one of the big cities of America, Louisiana, or, or New York or, or Miami, it's hard for these individuals already to make their ends meet. But without getting paychecks, it's even that much more challenging. And so they're going to take other jobs to put food on the table and pay the rent. So I do think it's going to get much worse. And as it gets worse, I think that puts pressure on the Congress to come to a resolution. Democrats have to say, you know what, we're not going to defund this. We're going to actually work together, have some common sense reform that the President will work with us on and you know, let's get America working again. And the last thing you want as you travel is to deal with political fights at the airport. Let that stay in Congress. But, but don't extract pain out of me and my family as I'm trying to just go to Florida and get some sun on my bones during spring break with my kids.
