Guys, let's go into even more of what this means. The OSC has Smith under a microscope, and this, I've been told by many on Capitol Hill, is the beginning of what could be other possible issues for him. I want to be clear about that. He's under the microscope regarding the possibility that not only one, he violated the Hatch act, which says, again, government workers are not allowed to take part in certain political activities. All right, now, it received confirmation the probe Fox did there from the office and that Smith is not being, quote, criminally investigated. Now, let's be clear. I want you to understand this could be the beginning of opening up. Who knows what you can read between the lines there. The OSC is a government watchdog that operates independently. Number one, is a federal investigative and prosecutor office. In July, Tom Cotton asked its members to investigate whether Jack Smith, who again was a special counsel for the former Attorney General Merrick Garland, if he engaged in unlawful political activities to, quote, influence. All right, think about the timeline here. The 2024 presidential election and targeted Trump in doing so to influence the 2024 election. Now, President Trump, of course, said, you know this about Joe Biden and Jack Smith and every Democrat, quote, who weaponized law against him. President Trump's astounding victory doesn't excuse Smith of responsibility, the Senator said, for his unlawful election interference. I therefore asked the Office of the Special Counsel to investigate whether Jack Smith or, quote, any members of his team unlawfully acted for political purposes. So, number one, is it going to be difficult for the media to cover this? Yes. And I. That's why we're covering it right now, because you need to know what's happening. Democrats are going to dismiss this. They're going to say this is not a big deal. They're going to say this is nothing, that this is just a political hit job on Jack Smith, who, quote, did his job. Now, Jack Smith oversaw a pair, okay, not one, but two of the criminal investigations into Donald Trump while the former President Joe Biden was still in office. All right, the outlet of the New York Times, excuse me, the New York Post reporting this on Friday. They said one of the investigations, as you may recall, was, quote, into Trump's handling of classified documents. Then the other was as to whether his actions on January 6, 2021, were an attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Both cases, as you know, have been dismissed. Now an email that has come forward reviewed by the New York Post also states that the Hatch Act Unit, which enforces a law restricting government employees from engaging in political activities, has begun reviewing the former special counsel for the United States Department of Now. The email was written by senior counsel at the osc. The article states. Now let's go back to Smith for a second. Smith, you may have forgotten, resigned from the U.S. department of justice after he failed to bring the case against Trump to trial because, well, he knew it was going to get dismissed, he knew it was crap and they lost and so he wanted out. The article also says Smith's resignation comes as his office has engaged, quote, in last minute legal wranglings to release its work against Trump before President Joe Biden left office. If you go back and look at the record, then he resigned on a Saturday just nine days before Trump's inauguration, after which Smith would have been fired. We're all sure of that. Now. The following month, Trump suspended the security clearances of law of law firm members who helped Jack Smith. And that was something that people like. Okay, pay attention. Now the memo, by the way, addressed to all relevant agencies and departments, halted any security clearances of Covington and Burling. That's a law firm, its members, partners and employees who helped Jack Smith during his time in the role of special counsel, quote, pending a review and determination of their roles and responsibilities, if any, in the weaponization of the judicial process, per that memo. So let me be clear. The takeaway from this, this could be the beginning of something very, very big. And it's going to start with the man who went after weaponized our government against Donald Trump, Jack Smith. So get ready, we're going to keep covering this. It's very bit. Now story number two. All right, I want to get to another important issue. It's a big one and it's one that so many Americans have, especially the media, have really, really, really overlooked it completely. That's part of what I like to do here, is bring you different information that others are refusing to cover. And this one is one that is really interesting because the number of arrests of migrant gotaways continuing now in Texas despite record low apprehensions at the border. The media doesn't want you to know how many bad hombres we have right now in this country. The Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, the National Guardsmen and the Border Patrol agents are continuing to arrest migrants who illegally cross the border between the ports of entry and made their way into the US Interior. The Trump administration has just released more info. Recent arrests include three Chinese nationals who got away from the border border after crossing near Mission, Texas. What we now know is that this was an operation that Texas DPS did. They post a video to social media showing the continuing activities of the troopers, the guardman Border Patrol agents who despite these record low apprehension of the border, said now their job is to find migrants being smuggled into the interior of Texas after not being apprehended at the border. Law enforcement teams, they say, are real problems, are having facing real problems because they're going after and continue to see drugs that are being smuggled into Texas. You have human smuggling arrests that are still happening each and every day. You have K9 teams now that are actually being able to do their jobs by tracking and assisting U.S. border Patrol in the tracking of these drugs. We're seeing drug seizures, they said in Brownsville, Texas. Stolen vehicles that are being used by the cartels and others that are being grabbed in Laredo, Texas, for example. This is just some of what is happening at the border. We also know this past week that smugglers were sentenced to 10 years in prison. You've got pursuits to ranch tracks to all these missions that are happening. And they're wanting people to understand what's going on here. Now, one example that was reported was on July 31. One of the videos they put out show Border Patrol mounted patrol teams tracking migrants in Duval County, Texas. The team tracked the illegal aliens who attempted to escape by using thick brush as cover. That's where the Texas DPS K9 team managed to apprehend the two illegal aliens and turn them over to Border Patrol agents. Now, they weren't able to do this type of work before because they were babysitting illegal immigrants to the border under the Biden administration. Earlier on Thursday, for example, they reported the arrests of these three Chinese nationals that were apprehended near Mission, Texas after clearing the border without encountering a Border Patrol agent. And this is part of the problem now, the troopers say we're getting to do our jobs now. They were to stop the human smuggling attempts. Last week, also in Dement County, Texas, they pulled over a Florida driver. The troopers found two Mexican nationals illegally present in the US Hiding in the rear cargo area of the suv. Again, another example of the bad hombres that we're talking about. On July 3, for example, it was reported the arrest of 10 illegal aliens near mission. These included four migrants from Uzbekistan. Now, why does that matter? Well, it's a hotbed for terrorism. That's one of the big concerns here, is that how many people have come in this country illegally that are terrorists and wanting to do things and do real harm inside the United States of America. Now in June, to put this in perspective of where we are now because of a strong border security from this President Donald Trump, Border patrol agents apprehended 3,995 migrants who illegally crossed the border into five Texas based sectors. Let me just explain to you the difference between June of this year And June of 2024, when Joe Biden was like, everybody come in. We have an open border. They caught 30,766 compared to 3,995 one year apart. What changed? A president that is enforcing the law. The southwest land border encounters that were reported and published by the U.S. customs and Border Protection said, this is now going back to a point that we can manage and protect the border compared to what it was. Now. If you do the math on that, this represents a drop of now more than 87% year over year. The June apprehension numbers are also down from 5,491 migrants apprehended in May. So this is also sending a message around the world, you probably don't want to try because you're going to get caught and it's not an open border that we had under the radicals in the Biden regime. Border apprehensions in the Texas based sectors in June accounted for approximately 66% of all migrants apprehended along the southern border with Mexico. Nearly 4,600 migrants were apprehended in all nine Border Patrol sectors along the southwest border in July. That mark shed another historic low for the Trump administration. So Kristi Noem put it out this way and she said in her tweet where she was going through all these numbers. And again, why is the media not telling you how safe the border has become? Because they don't want you to know this. Okay, History made again is how Krissi Noem put it. The numbers don't lie. This is the most secure the border has ever been. President Donald Trump didn't just manage the crisis, he obliterated it. No more excuses, Kristi Noem said. No more release. We put the cartels on defense and taken our border back. She then said in July, the lowest nationwide encounter number ever, 24,630. That is down 2.4% from June. But here's the number that you're going to care about. It's 90% lower than the monthly average under the last administration. The lowest Border Patrol apprehensions nationwide, also 6,177. That shattered, by the way, June's all time low as well. She went on to say this. The lowest southwest border apprehensions we've ever seen, 4,598, nearly 500 fewer than the daily average under the last administration, which averaged 5110 apprehensions per day from February of 2021 to December of 2024. We also have the lowest daily apprehension average, just 148 per day. That's lower than the average rate of 152 apprehensions every two hours under the Biden administration last July alone. So we're doing 148 a day in apprehensions. They were doing 152 every two hours, every hour of the day, 247 last July. And then she finally says this. The lowest single day apprehensions in history, 88 at the southwest border, 116 nationwide on July 20th. Now look at the calendar right now and where we are. What you're hearing and what we're seeing from Border Patrol agents and from the Trump administration is that the word is getting out. Do you really want to go into incredible debt to try to come to America to immediately get caught and then be sent home? Do you want to pay these smugglers to get you in and you're going to get caught. You look at the lowest single day apprehension in history, 88 at the southwest border and 116 nationwide on July 20th. Now, I say that because you may say, well, okay, hold on, maybe there was a bad weather day. No, it wasn't. It was actually a great weather day. Why, Nate, on July 20th, did you have these numbers drop that much? Because that's the last day we have reported. And public access to what Donald Trump is doing is he's going after and using ice. And they're going after the illegal immigrants everywhere they are, including sanctuary cities. Word is getting back to the smugglers and the human traffickers and those that were paying them that it may not be worth you paying them because you're probably not going to make it. And that is how Trump is making America safe again. Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
