You see, this is not 2003. This is not endless nation building under those types of quagmires we saw under Bush or Obama. It's not even close. Our generation of soldier will not let that happen again and nor will this president.

You're listening to the 47 update with Ben Ferguson. Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update. And we've got one big story for you. It is day 11 of Operation EPIC Fury. The question that so many Americans are asking is, are we winning? And what's going to be happening with gas prices? We have answers to all of that. Having just come back from Israel, I want to paint you a picture. It's midnight, sirens are blaring and you have only seconds to grab your child and run. Now imagine you're elderly, your legs don't work like they used to. Getting downstairs feels impossible. And after all of that, you end up in a bomb shelter for hours, even days, because you can't make the trek again. This is what's happening across Israel as Operation Epic Fury continues. Children are being traumatized, families are just exhausted, and homes have been destroyed. And that's why the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is there on the ground bringing food, emergency equipment, care for those children and help for the elderly, and supplying the bomb shelters and medical centers for critically needed essentials. If you've ever wondered what it looks like to stand for Israel and stand for good against evil, this is it. And that's why I'm asking you to now please act. Give $45 right now to rush life saving essentials to the vulnerables under fire. You can also call 888-488-IFCJ. That's 888488 IFCJ. Join me and give and make a real difference online@ifcj.org that's ifcj.org. it's a 47 morning update and it starts right now. Story number one. It is day 11 of Operation EPIC Fury. The United States and its allies are continuing to deliver overwhelming blows to the Iranian regime's military infrastructure. And by nearly every measure, the coalition is gaining the upper hand in a major way as President Donald Trump and the White House continue to go all out in our attacks on the Ayatollah in the infrastructure there. This operation, as you know, began on February 28th when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes designed to dismantle Iran's missile capabilities, cripple its military leadership and eliminate the regime's ability to threaten American forces or develop or deliver a nuclear weapon. That is something that the President has laid out from day one and the results so far have been staggering. According to Pentagon officials, more than 55,000 Iranian military targets have now been struck. Since the campaign began. These strikes have focused on missile launchers, command centers, air defenses, drone factories and key Revolutionary Guard facilities. In just the first few days alone, you may remember the White House talked about the US forces hit nearly 2,000 pre planned targets, deploying thousands of precision guided munitions from fighters, bombers, naval forces and long range missiles as well. Among the biggest accomplishments over the past several days are showing big victories. Iran's missile capabilities have been heavily degraded. Hundreds of ballistic missiles, launchers and drone systems have been completely destroyed, dramatically reducing Iran's ability to strike US Bases and allies across the region, which they did early on. The second big thing that's happened over the last couple days is this. The Iranian navy has taken a devastating blow. Dozens of warships as well as naval vessels have been destroyed or completely sunk, including mine laying ships that threaten shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The third big thing that's happened over the last couple days is this. Coalition forces have begun targeting Iran's military production pipeline, including factories that manufacture drones and missile components. Strategic bombers have dropped bunker busting bombs on hardened missile facilities deep inside of Iran. The big other thing that has happened is this. The campaign has also struck key leadership as well as command structures tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including underground facilities linked to missile development and could force operations as well. Perhaps the most telling is this. US Officials are now saying that Iran's retaliatory attacks are already slowing down significantly. The number of missiles launched dropped significantly in recent days because their capabilities have been destroyed. The Defense Secretary, Pete Hadseth said the mission remains laser focused and that the United States is winning with overwhelming and unrelenting force as American intelligence and targeting capabilities improve with every day of this campaign. Here is more of what Pete had to say to the world about exactly what's happening right now.
Pete Hadseth
You see, this is not 2003. This is not endless nation building under those types of quagmires we saw under Bush or Obama. It's not even close. Our generation of soldier will not let that happen again. And nor will this President who very clearly ran against those kinds of never ending, nebulously scoped missions. Those days are dead. Instead, we're winning decisively with brutal efficiency, total air dominance, and an unbreakable will to accomplish the President's objectives. On our timeline, we stay locked on the target because here at the Department of War, that's our job.
Ben Ferguson
The Secretary of War wasn't done there.
Pete Hadseth
Also saying this on day 10 of Operation EPIC Fury, we are winning with an overwhelming and unrelenting focus on our objectives, which are the same as the day I gave my first briefing here on Operation Epic Fury. They're straightforward and we are executing them with ruthless precision. One, destroy their missile stockpiles, their missile launchers and their defense industrial base missiles and their ability to make them. Two, destroy their navy. And three, permanently deny Iran nuclear weapons forever. It's a laser focused, maximum authority mission delivered with overwhelming and unrelenting precision. No hesitation, no half measures.
Ben Ferguson
Now, the Secretary of War also made it clear what the President's mission is and what he is saying right now about what we are doing.
Pete Hadseth
But the President has made it clear to those concerns that we're not getting pulled in any direction. We're leading. The President is leading. He's determining where we want to go, what the outcome will be, what the end state is with a very keen eye. And I understand those concerns because I've heard from a lot of people who went through, I went through 20 years of those wars myself, worried about getting dragged in, worried about mission creep, worried about nation building or democracy expansion. That's never the perspective the President has pursued on this. Just because previous presidents and previous secretaries have decided to just pour more resources and more people in toward some unguided end state doesn't mean that's the way the world needs to look today. In fact, the American people voted for a different approach. But what the President also stated from the beginning is Iran can't have a nuclear weapon. And it's one thing to say it, it's easy to say, anybody can say that. I mean, Barack Obama said that. But to do something about it takes courage and resolve. But in that courage and in that resolve, you can also be very scoped in what you're trying to execute to ensure that the sacrifice of Americans, American treasure, American lives, all of those properly meet the objective that you're trying to accomplish. And certainly as someone I talked out front about what the Iranians have done to our generation. Yes, we're clear eyed about it, but my job is to keep it scoped, given the directive of the President to accomplish the mission.
Ben Ferguson
This is exactly why the President, United States of America picked the Secretary of War, Pete Headset for this job. He has been in that never ending war and he wants to make sure that no one else has to go through that because he witnessed it firsthand. So as we move into day 11, the strategic picture is becoming even clearer. Iran's missile arsenal is shrinking, its naval power is collapsing, its military production facilities are being dismantled, and coalition forces are maintaining air and sea dominance across the region. To put it plainly, Operation Epic Fury and the mastermind of it, President Donald J. Trump, has made it clear this is becoming one of the most intense and consequential US Military campaigns in the Middle east in decades. And officials say the next phase will focus on permanently destroying Iran's missile production network so the regime can never rebuild its offensive capabilities again. This is exactly what the President is focused on right now. And he's also doing it for another reason, to make sure that we don't have to worry about a nuclear ran coming after us or Americans around the world. The episode is delivered in a direct, urgent, and unapologetically pro-administration tone. Ben Ferguson’s commentary is evocative, personal, and supportive of both the U.S. military strategy and President Trump’s stance. Secretary of War Pete Hadseth’s statements are assertive, militaristic, and focused on efficiency and clarity of mission—distinctly drawing a line from previous U.S. interventions.
The March 11, 2026, episode of "The 47 Morning Update" underscores the sweeping U.S.-led military campaign against Iran as a historic shift away from prolonged, undefined military ventures in the Middle East. Operation EPIC Fury is depicted as highly successful, rapidly degrading Iran’s offensive and nuclear capabilities, while emphasizing the administration’s commitment to decisive action with tightly managed objectives. Ferguson and Hadseth repeatedly stress that this operation is not about nation-building but about targeted, relentless military objectives, and preventing any Iranian nuclear ambitions—forever. For listeners seeking an insider perspective on U.S. strategy in the region and a staunch defense of administrational military policy, this episode delivers a focused, intense briefing.
