It is verdict with center Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you and Senator, this may be one of the most interesting stories we've gotten to talk about in a while and that is Democrats are so hell bent on being the opposite of Donald Trump and conservatives that they're now advocating for people that are members of terrorist gang organizations and demanding that we bring illegals back into America. You cannot make this up.
Ben Ferguson
Well, ever since the election in November, Democrats have been flailing about, they have been unable to coalesce behind any clear platform, any clear policy agenda other than hatred for Donald Trump and anger at rage at the voters for re electing him. They've now seemed to settle on two policy positions which I have to admit are curious policy positions for a party that was just resoundingly defeated at the polls. Number one, Democrats have apparently decided the issue that's going to bring them back to power is that Democrats want more illegal aliens and especially more illegal aliens who have been found by courts to be members of MS.13. That's a fairly remarkable position and yet that is where they are. Secondly, they have decided that what we need in our college campuses is more anti Semitism, more radicals, more pro Hamas protesters and more anti American zealots who hate our nation. Now I gotta say Ben, as I say both of those propositions, the words coming out of my mouth sound absurd except for the fact that that is exactly where today's Democrat party has decided to land. We're lay out the facts behind both of those. Both the all in Democrat rush to get behind bringing more illegals who are Ms. 13 gang members back into this country and the Democrats defense of Harvard University which has decided they're not gonna change a damn thing. They're gonna continue to discriminate on race and they're gonna continue to let in every anti Semite they want to. And who the heck is the federal government to try to enforce civil rights laws against them? We're gonna break both those stories down today.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, it really is incredible. I also wanna remind you guys, many of you may be listening to the show and you're new to the show. Hit that subscribe or auto download button so you do not miss an episode. So do that right now as well. Also, I want to tell you about our friends at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Israel is still under attack right now. Missile fire has resumed from the Houthis, from Hezbollah and from Hamas. And enemies that are seeking Israel destruction is unfortunately what Israel's having to deal with every day here in America. We cannot imagine living under constant threat of terrorism and rocket attacks. Well, this is the reality in Israel. Parents taking their children to school, falling to the ground to lay on top of their small children trying to comfort them as the sirens blare. The next attack against Israel is happening now with little time to prepare. And that's why I'm asking for your help. That is also why it's so important that you know about the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. They provide life saving aid and security essentials and your urgently need a gift today will help provide security essentials like bomb shelters, flak jackets and bulletproof vests for the first responders. They also provide armored security vehicles, armored ambulances and so much more. So join me and stand with Israel. You can make a donation by calling 888-488 IFCJ. That's 888-488-4325 or go online to supportifcj.org One word support ifcj.org so Senator, let's go back to this story and and Democrats are now coalescing around an individual that was deported out of this country. And not only are they rallying, but they're putting together apparently a delegation that they want to send down to El Salvador to, quote, stand up for the illegal immigrant that's a Ms. 13 gang member.
Ben Ferguson
Well, there was an illegal immigrant whom the Trump administration deported to El Salvador. Abrego Garcia is his name. And he was here illegally. Everyone admits that he came into this country illegally. And he was also adjudicated not once but twice to be an Ms. 13 gang member. Now, President Trump has determined Ms. 13 to be a terrorist organization. And so he was apprehended and he was deported by the Trump administration. Now it so happened that there was a court order that said not that Brego Garcia could not be deported, but that he could not be deported back to El Salvador, which is where he's from. He's an El Salvadorian national. And that court order was a long. It was an older court order that was missed, that was overlooked, and he was deported and sent to El Salvador. And the Democrats have decided that, that that error is sufficient reason they are jumping on airplanes and headed down to El Salvador to apparently go camp outside the prison camp where terrorists and murderers and rapists are held to say, you know, what America needs is more of those terrorists, murderers, and rapists back in America. Now, I gotta say that that's a stunning position. So here's how the Washington examiner put it. Quote, to hear Democrats like Chris Murphy tell it, Garcia was just an innocent, doting father who was randomly targeted by the Trump administrations to be sent to El Salvador's terrorism confinement. Senator, the Supreme Court then ordered Trump to return this, quote, legal resident back to the United States. Trump has refused, sending our nation into a constitutional crisis. Senator Chris Van Hollen has even announced that he's going to personally travel to El Salvador to bring Garcia home. Because, you know, that's what you want is Democrats trafficking in illegal immigrants. Sure. The problem is that Democrats leave a lot out of Garcia's story, and the truth makes Trump's failure to return him quite reasonable. For starters, Garcia was not in the United States legally. By the way, nobody disputes that. That is undisputed. By his lawyer's own admission, he enters the country illegally in 2011. Then, eight years later, Garcia was arrested at Home Depot while illegally soliciting employment. The Prince's George's. The Prince George's County Police Department then transferred him to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which began deportation proceedings against him. As a defense to deportation, Garcia tried to claim asylum, claiming that his life was in danger from the Barrio 18 gang. But his asylum claim was denied, and the judge ordered his removal. Let me repeat that statement. But his asylum claim was denied, and the judge ordered his removal. Now, here's the sentence that. That complicates it. The judge did, however, grant Garcia a, quote, withholding of removal order forbidding his removal to El Salvador. But that did not make him a legal resident, as Garcia's own lawyers admit. Should the Trump administration wish to remove plaintiff Abrego Garcia to any other country, they would have no legal impediment in doing so. And so these are the facts that the Democrats have decided their party is all about. You want to know what is today's? Democrat Party stand for more illegal immigrants, more gang members that. You know what, this ain't your grandfather's Democrat Party.
Ryan Seacrest
So you've done international trips before. And if I remember the name, I think it's codell. So is this an official, like delegation? If it's senators and congressmen going down there, this is a real codell. And are the American taxpayers going to pay for this photo op?
Ben Ferguson
Yes. And look, that's one of the prerogatives of being in the Senate is that you can travel internationally on official travel, and each senator can make a determination of where he or she wants to go. And it should be related to your responsibilities, related to your work. But particularly for someone like Van Holland or Murphy, they both serve with me on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. And so that in and of itself gives you a significant justification to travel abroad, work related. Let me give you an example of that. If you go back during the first Trump administration, when President Trump moved our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, that's something I had been fighting for the entire time I've been in the Senate. Presidents from both parties, both Republicans and Democrats, had promised to move our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. And presidents in both parties had broken that promise. Well, Donald Trump followed through on that promise, and it was the right thing to do. It was something that I advocated vigorously to President Trump repeatedly in the Oval Office for him to do so, and he did. When we were opening our embassy about a year later, I decided I wanted to be there. And so I went down and I traveled down, and there were a number of other senators, a number of other House members that went. And you know what was striking, Ben, is when the embassy was opened, it was actually on the date of the 70th anniversary of the creation of the modern state of Israel. Not a single Democrat member of Congress came. Chuck Schumer didn't come. No Democrat senators came. No Democrat House members came. By the way, historically, many congressional Democrats, including Chuck Schumer, had called for moving our embassy to Jerusalem. But when it was actually moved, none of them came. And several of them whined publicly. Well, the Trump administration didn't invite us. Well, you know what? They didn't invite me either. I don't think they invited any member of Congress. They just opened the embassy. I ended up going, and I actually ended up going with Mike Lee and Lindsey Graham. And I was literally walking along in the Capitol and I turned to Mike, who's a very dear friend of mine, and I said, mike, we're going to open the embassy in Jerusalem. I've been fighting for this for years. I want to be there. Do you want to be there, too? He said, absolutely, let's go. And Lindsey wanted to come, too. And so we went out of our official budgets. We had the ability to purchase plane tickets and travel. And so we traveled there to be there. We met with Prime Minister Netanyahu. We met with senior government officials. That's part of the job. So, look, can the Democrats travel to El Salvador if they want? And is that part, reasonably, of their work? Yes, but what they're doing is traveling there in order to highlight. We want to bring this illegal immigrant, whom two courts have found as an Ms. 13 member, back to America. That's astonishingly bad policy and I think, astonishingly bad politics.
Ryan Seacrest
You mentioned that. This is. I agree with you, astonishing policy and bad politics. But the media has been giving them cover on this story. If you listen to the media. I was watching msnbc, for example, and they were. They. They were talking. You were the one. Yeah, I was the one. Right. And I was. I was watching. And they had the mother who said, where? It's an X number of days since he has disappeared. And I'm like, well, hold on. If he's disappeared, then how do you guys know where to go to find him and see him? And to have this delegation go down there? Which one is it? He's disappeared or you know exactly where he is? And of course, the answer is they obviously know where he is. But MSNBC was like, we. We stand with you to the mother. Like, we're with you in solidarity right now to his wife. And I'm laughing because none of the facts have come up about not one, but two courts saying this guy's an MS.13 gang member.
Ben Ferguson
None of these Democrats could even bring themselves to utter the name Lincoln Riley. None of these Democrats could bring themselves to utter the name Jocelyn Nungaree. None of these Democrats could bring themselves to utter the name Rachel Marin. The American victims who were murdered by criminal illegal aliens whom Democrats had released, they won't acknowledge, they won't fight for, they don't care about. At the State of the Union, when Alexis Nungree, Jocelyn Nungaree's mom, was sitting next to the First Lady, Melania Trump, and the President introduced her. I know Jocelyn's mom really well. She's an incredible young woman who's shown great courage and fortitude not a single Democrat in the chamber would applaud for. So they cannot bring themselves to stand with Americans whose children have been murdered by violent illegal immigrants whom they've released. But you give them an illegal immigrant ordered deported by a court determined to be an MS.13 gang member. And they are all in. And I want you to listen to this exchange. So in the Oval Office, the president of El Salvador, President Bukele was here this week and he met with President Trump in the Oval Office and there were a number of members of the cabinet there. And cnn, of course, immediately asked, are you going to send this individual back? And the exchanges is quite striking. President Bukele, his answer was quite strong. And President Trump asked three people, asked Pam Bondi, the attorney general, asked Stephen Miller, who's the deputy chief of staff and an expert on immigration law, and asked Marco Rubio all to respond to CNN's quote, questions. And I got to say that their answers were a masterclass in how to deal with media misinformation and disinformation. It's a lengthy excerpt, but it's worth hearing because it really does lay out the truth and expose the media lies. Give a listen. Who your administration says was mistakenly deported, the man who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador. Well, let me ask Pam, would you answer that question? Sure. President first, first and foremost, he was illegally in our country.
Ryan Seacrest
He had been illegally in our country. And in 2019, two courts, an immigration court and an appellate immigration court ruled.
Ben Ferguson
That he was a member of MS.13.
Ryan Seacrest
And he was illegally in our country. Right now.
Ben Ferguson
It was a paperwork. It was additional paperwork had needed to be done. That's up to El Salvador.
Ryan Seacrest
If they want to return him, that's.
Ben Ferguson
Not up to us. The Supreme Court ruled, President, that if.
Ryan Seacrest
As El Salvador wants to return, and this is international matters, foreign affairs, if they wanted to return him, we would.
Ben Ferguson
Facilitate it, meaning provide a plane. So will you return him? And you are doing a great job.
Ryan Seacrest
Thank you.
Ben Ferguson
Wait a minute. Can you just also respond to that question because you know, it's asked by CNN and they always ask it with.
Ryan Seacrest
A slant because they're totally slanting because they don't know what's happening. That's why nobody's watching them.
Ben Ferguson
But would you answer that question also? Yes, gladly. So as Pam mentioned, there's an illegal alien from El Salvador. So with respect to you, he's a citizen of El Salvador. So it's very arrogant even for American media to suggest that we would even tell El Salvador how to handle their own citizens as a starting point, as two immigration courts found that he was a member of Ms. 13. When President Trump declared Ms. 13 to be a foreign terrorist organization, that meant that he was no longer eligible under federal law, which I'm sure you know, you're very familiar with the ina, that he was no longer eligible for any.
Ryan Seacrest
Form of immigration relief in the United States.
Ben Ferguson
So he had a deportation order that was valid, which meant that under our law, he's not even allowed to be.
Ryan Seacrest
Present in the United States and had to be returned because of the foreign terrorist designation.
Ben Ferguson
This issue was then by a district court judge completely inverted. And a district court judge tried to tell the administration that they had to kidnap a citizen of El Salvador and fly him back here. That issue was raised to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court said the district court order was unlawful and its.
Ryan Seacrest
Main components were reversed 90 unanimously stating clearly that neither Secretary of State nor.
Ben Ferguson
The president could be compelled by anybody to forcibly retrieve a citizen of El Salvador from El Salvador, who again, is.
Ryan Seacrest
A member of Ms. 13, which, as.
Ben Ferguson
I'm sure you understand, rapes little girls, murders women, murders children, is engaged in the most barbaric activities in the world. And I can promise you, if he.
Ryan Seacrest
Was your neighbor, you would move right away.
Ben Ferguson
So you don't plan, but the Supreme Court's asking to in the Supreme Court. Steve, was it nine to nothing?
Ryan Seacrest
Yes, it was a nine zero in our favor.
Ben Ferguson
In our favor against the district court ruling saying that no district court has the power to compel the foreign policy function of the United States.
Ryan Seacrest
As Pam said, the ruling solely stated.
Ben Ferguson
That if this individual, at El Salvador's.
Ryan Seacrest
Sole discretion, was sent back to our.
Ben Ferguson
Country, that we could deport him a second time.
Ryan Seacrest
No version of this legally ends up.
Ben Ferguson
With him ever living here because he is a citizen of El Salvador, that is the president of El Salvador. Your questions about it, per the court, can only be directed to him. Can President Bukele weigh in on this? Do you plan to return him? Well, those who have suggested that I smuggle terrorism to the United States, Right. How can I return him to the United States? Like I smuggle him into the United States or what do I do? Of course I'm not going to do it. It's like, I mean, the question is preposterous. How can smuggle a terrorist into the United States?
Ryan Seacrest
I don't have the power to return.
Ben Ferguson
Him to the United States. But you can release him inside El Salvador.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, but I'm not releasing.
Ben Ferguson
I mean, we're not very fond of releasing terrorists into our country. We just turned the murder capital of the world into the safest country of the western hemisphere. And you want us to go back into the Releasing criminals so we can.
Ryan Seacrest
Go back to being the murder capital of the world.
Ben Ferguson
And that's. That's not going to happen. Well, they'd love to have a criminal. You know, I mean. I mean, there's. They would love it. Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
They're sick.
Ben Ferguson
These are sick people. Marco, do you have something to say about that?
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, I mean, Steven Eitlin, I don't.
Ben Ferguson
Understand what the confusion is.
Ryan Seacrest
This individual is a citizen of El Salvador. He was illegally in the United States and was returned to his country.
Ben Ferguson
That's where you deport people back to.
Ryan Seacrest
Their country of origin.
Ben Ferguson
Except for Venezuela, that wasn't refusing to.
Ryan Seacrest
Take people back or places like that. I can tell you this, Mr. President, note. The foreign policy of the United States.
Ben Ferguson
Is conducted by the President of the.
Ryan Seacrest
United States, not by a court. And no court in the United States has a right to conduct the foreign policy of the United States. It's that simple, Senator. You can hear it there. They laid out the facts, the facts that the media are not telling the American people. They laid out the connections to the terrorist organization, which is Ms. 13. They laid out the facts that not one, but two judges have said he's an Ms. 13 gang member. And, oh, by the way, when the media says, this guy did nothing wrong, he was in the country illegally. He broke into the United States of America. So the entire thing is propaganda from the left.
Ben Ferguson
It is. And by the way, I will say on X, multiple media outlets have tweeted about this illegal immigrant who's been adjudicated to be a gang member. They keep describing him as a, quote, Maryland father. Since when does an illegal immigrant who happened to be living in Maryland make him a Maryland father? Yes, he was, in fact, apprehended in Maryland, but he is from El Salvador. It's why, actually, they asked the president of El Salvador, are you going to send him back? And at the end of the day, the president of El Salvador said, look, why would I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? This is someone who's been found to be a member of MS.13. It is illegal for him to come to America. You're asking me, would I bring an illegal immigrant terrorist into America? My answer is no. And the media has no answer for that. They're like, no, no, no. We want that. And what's astonishing, okay, nobody's surprised. CNN wants more illegal immigrant terrorists into this country. MSNBC wants more illegal immigrant terrorists into this country. Now, to be fair, CNN and MSNBC don't have to get votes. They just have to appeal to Radical leftists, but Democrats presumably want to get votes from normal people. This is a very curious issue for them to lean all in on, but I gotta say this defines who today's Democrat party is.
Ryan Seacrest
Let me tell you about Patriot Mobile real quick. If you've got a cell phone and your cell phone is not with Patriot Mobile, then the question I gotta ask you is why? Why have you not made the switch? You get to keep your same phone number you have right now. You get to keep your same phone you've got now or upgrade to a new one. So switch to Patriot Mobile and defend freedom with every call and text you make. That's patriotmobile.com verdict or 972-patriot make the switch today. Senator, which this issue that we just talked about brings us to another double down issue with Democrats that again they without leadership in the Democratic party right now it's pretty clear they're trying to a figure out who's in charge and B the radicals are getting to push the agenda. We which brings us to Harvard and Trump has said we are freezing the funding going to Harvard. They have slashed over 2.2 billion in funding to Harvard after the school has defied federal law and the White House says we're not playing around A lot of Americans, by the way, may not realize that 2.2, in fact, a lot more than that is going to Harvard of your tax dollars.
Ben Ferguson
Yeah, Harvard gets roughly $9 billion in federal taxpayer dollars. So it gets an enormous amount. Now it's a hu institution and it does some good research, it does medical research and scientific research, and some of that research is valuable. But. But what? The Trump administration has announced that the Joint Task Force on Combating Anti Semitism has announced that it's freezing over $2 billion in multi year grants and contracts to Harvard. And that was following the school's president putting out a statement saying it would not comply with the Trump administration's demands on anti Semitism. And I gotta say, this is a battle that Harvard and a lot of academic institutions are putting out statements in support of Harvard. So brave. So brave. Now, I will say most other institutions, when the Trump administration has threatened their funding, they've caved and they've caved very quickly. But the other institutions are happy to applaud Harvard and say, yes, yes, yes, lose your funds. You're so brave. And what is striking is that Democrats, Barack Obama, the Democrat governor of Massachusetts, are all lining up behind Harvard. And there is a reason when you look at the core basis of the Democrat Party. You know, there was a time in a prior generation when the Democrat Party was considered a blue collar party in the age of fdr. It was a party of union members and working class. And in fact, one of the reasons that FDR was treated with contempt is because he was a very wealthy person, as many Democrats are, but he was considered a, quote, traitor to his class because he was a rich man who became a historic Democrat leader. Well, that Democrat Party doesn't exist anymore. The Democrat Party no longer cares about the blue collar and in fact, they routinely destroy blue collar jobs. Today's Democrat Party is a party of coastal elites and it is a party that is comprised big universities and big business and big tech and big Hollywood, all of whom have overlapping problems. All of them are in bed with China, and all of them have been taken over by radical leftism, by cultural Marxism, as you know. The most recent book I wrote is entitled how to Defeat Cultural Marxism in America. In each chapter breaks down a different major institution that's been captured by the radical left. The first chapter is entitled Universities the Wuhan Lab of the Woke Virus. And what I argue is that it is universities and sadly my alma mater, Harvard, where the Woke virus was first created in a lab and then it mutated and spread and it spread throughout just about every other major institution in this country. And so Harvard has been the locus of much of the radical leftism and cultural Marxism that has done enormous damage to our institutions. And Harvard is digging in, and they're claiming that they're digging in in defense of free speech, but what they're really digging in on is they don't want to change their policies, number one, that discriminate on race. They love discriminating on race. They love dei, they love putting race front and center, which, by the way, is directly contrary to federal civil rights law. And they also want to continue admitting radical anti Semites. They want to continue looking the other way at pro Hamas protesters who threaten Jewish students, who threaten violence, who threaten intimidation, who call for genocide. And they want to continue admitting and promoting anti American radicals. And that includes both students and faculty. And so when the administration put a series of demands in place that Harvard said, no, I gotta tell you, Harvard thinks they want this fight. In my opinion, the Trump administration is eager for this fight with Harvard. And you could not ask. Harvard has an endowment of over $50 billion. And you know, one of my favorite responses to that, to Harvard's supposed stance on principle, where they talked about standing for the First Amendment, is Hillsdale College, which is a great college. It is a conservative college, a free market college, but one of the things they do is they don't take federal money. And Hillsdale actually tweeted, well, you can say anything you like, just don't take federal money. And oddly enough, Harvard doesn't want to do that. They want the taxpayers to fund them, but they want to continue to be embracing racism and vitriolic anti American sentiment, while at the same time being funded by American taxpayers. Hey, Matt Gaetz here. Listen, after everything we've been through the last few years, saying we have trust issues is an understatement. They pushed a questionable vaccine, and when we asked for alternatives like ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine, they shut us down. They used pressure lies and red tape to block access to medications that were once easy to get. That cannot happen again. And with All Family Pharmacy, it won't. So when you look at this, this fight, I do think one of the very interesting parts of all of this that we're talking about is now Americans are really waking up and realizing, like, where their money has been going, how much of it's going. And you're right, there's some of this is research and that's something we can be proud of and that's a good thing. But a lot of this is going to indoctrinating kids with radical leftist ideals. And that's part of the reason why I think they won't need this money. Right? They want the money for that reason. They've been doing a great job of doing that for the last several decades. So if the money does dry up at places like Harvard and then we start to see more questions being asked about other money, not only could this change universities in a positive way, I think for free speech and not having one set of views that are indoctrinated, but it could also save the taxpayers a hell of a lot of money. Because it's not just Harvard that's getting cash.
Ben Ferguson
Oh, yeah, but Harvard is the perfect test subject. And our universities right now have become indoctrination labs. They've become places that inform, force, rigid orthodoxy. And if you say something that is contrary to the radical leftist view, you risk being disciplined, you risk being having your grades, and you also risk just not being admitted. And look, some of the question comes down to a very simple what is it that the administration was requesting? Because if the administration was demanding, Harvard must teach in every class that Donald Trump is the greatest president to have ever lived. I would agree with Harvard that no university could give in to a government demand about a specific position like that, particularly if it's one they disagree with. But that's not what the Trump administration said. And I have in front of me the letter that the Trump administration said. It's five pages. I'm not going to Read it all, but I'm going to read some of the portions of it. So it is addressed both to Alan Garber, who is the president of Harvard University, and to Penny Pritzker, who was the lead member of the Harvard Corporation. Penny Pritzker, by the way, was a cabinet member under Barack Obama. And the Harvard Corporation runs all of Harvard. And it's this privately held corporation of all Democrats that that that run Harvard as this left wing bastion. Here's how the letter begins. Dear Dr. Garber, the United States is invested in Harvard University's operation because of the value to the country of scholarly discovery and academic excellence. But an investment is not an entitlement. It depends on Harvard upholding federal civil rights law. And it only makes sense if Harvard fosters the kind of environment that produces intellectual creativity and scholarly rigor, both of which are antithetical to ideological capture. Harvard has in recent years failed to live up to both the intellectual and civil rights conditions that justify federal investment. But we appreciate your expression of commitment to repairing those failures and welcome your collaboration in restoring the University to its promise. We therefore present the below provisions as the basis for an agreement in principle that will maintain Harvard's financial relationship with the federal government. Here's the first. Governance and leadership reforms. By August 2025, Harvard must make meaningful governance reform and restructuring to make possible major change consistent with this letter, including fostering clear lines of authority and accountability. Apparently that was objectionable. Empowering tenured professors and senior leadership. And from among the tenured professorate and senior leadership exclusively those most devoted to the scholarly mission of the university and committed to the changes indicated in this letter. Reducing the power held by students and untenured faculty. Reducing the power held by faculty, whether tenured or untenured, and administrators more committed to activism than than scholarship. Now, again, this is something Harvard found unacceptable. We're not willing to focus on scholarship instead of activism. Nope, that's a violation of what we want to do. And reducing forms of governance, bloat, duplication or decentralization that interfere with the possibility of the reforms indicated in this letter. So that's the first one. Apparently something was objectionable about that. What's the next one? Merit based hiring reform. By August 2025, the university must adopt and implement merit based hiring policies and ceased all preferences based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin throughout its hiring, promotion, compensation and related practices among faculty, staff and leadership. Now, mind you, that is existing federal civil rights law. You cannot discriminate against based on race. And yet, for Harvard, that is it is outrageous. Of course they want to discriminate based on race. It's an ideological commitment. What's the next one? Merit based admissions reform. By August 2025, the university must adopt and implement merit based admission policies and cease all preferences based on race, color, national origin or proxies thereof throughout its undergraduate program, each graduate program individually, each of its professional schools and other programs. Again, the idea of actually admitting students based on merit rather than discriminating based on race, which, mind you, discriminating based on race is illegal under federal civil rights law to Harvard, is anathema. What's the next one? International admissions reform. By August 2025, the university must reform its recruitment, screening and admission of international students to prevent admitting students hostile to the American values and institutions inscribed in the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence, including students supportive of terrorism or antisemitism. Again, apparently that is outrageous and unacceptable. The next one viewpoint diversity in admission and hiring. By August 2025, the university shall commission an external party which will satisfy the federal government as to its competence and good faith to audit the student body, faculty, staff and leadership for viewpoint diversity, such that each department, field or teaching unit must be individually viewpoint diverse. Now, notably, they're not saying hire conservatives. They're not saying hire Trump supporters. They're saying you cannot have a faculty that is universally orthodox and indoctrinating that all have the same view that, you know, the left loves to prattle on about diversity as our strength. And by diversity they mean we must all be leftists who believe the same thing but say so with different skin colors. Now, I actually think diversity means having different ideas, confronting ideas you disagree with. Look, I go through these to give an example. I think each of those demands are very reasonable. They're saying comply with federal law, be an institution that actually does what you say, what you claim to be doing. And yet Harvard is outraged. How dare you hold us to the terms of federal law. We cannot comply with that.

Summary of "MS-13 & Harvard-Democrats Defend More Illegal Aliens, More Gang Members, More Anti-Semites & More Anti-American Radicals"
Podcast Information:
Overview: In this episode of The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson, host Ben Ferguson engages in a critical discussion with Ryan Seacrest, focusing on the Democratic Party's recent policies and actions concerning illegal immigration, gang affiliations, and institutional support for controversial universities like Harvard. The conversation delves into the complexities of immigration laws, the influence of political agendas on higher education, and the media’s role in shaping public perception.
Ben Ferguson opens the discussion by scrutinizing the Democratic Party's current immigration policies, highlighting what he perceives as a troubling alignment with illegal immigrants affiliated with violent gangs like MS-13.
Key Points:
Lack of Clear Policy Agenda: Since the November elections, Democrats have struggled to present a unified policy platform, primarily channeling their efforts toward opposition against former President Donald Trump.
Advocacy for Illegal Immigrants: Ferguson criticizes Democrats for advocating the return of individuals like Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant and adjudicated member of the MS-13 gang, citing his threat to national security.
Notable Quote:
“Democrats are coalescing around an individual that was deported out of this country. And not only are they rallying, but they’re putting together apparently a delegation that they want to send down to El Salvador to, quote, stand up for the illegal immigrant that's an MS-13 gang member.”
[03:33] Ben Ferguson
The discussion zeroes in on the case of Abrego Garcia, whose deportation and subsequent treatment have become emblematic of the broader immigration debate.
Key Points:
Deportation Process Flaws: Garcia was deported despite being an illegal immigrant and a member of the MS-13 gang. Ferguson argues that court orders preventing his return to El Salvador were overlooked by the Trump administration.
Democratic Response: Democrats, represented by figures like Senator Chris Van Hollen and Chris Murphy, are portrayed as pushing to reintegrate Garcia, thereby undermining national security.
Notable Quote:
“He was adjudicated not once but twice to be an MS-13 gang member. President Trump has determined MS-13 to be a terrorist organization.”
[05:14] Ben Ferguson
Ferguson shifts focus to Harvard University, critiquing its policies on race and anti-Semitism, and the Democratic Party's unwavering support for the institution despite federal disapproval.
Key Points:
Federal Funding Freeze: The Trump administration froze over $2 billion in grants to Harvard due to the university’s refusal to comply with federal civil rights laws related to anti-Semitism and race-based admissions.
Harvard’s Defiance: Harvard's leadership is accused of prioritizing ideological agendas over legal compliance, fostering an environment hostile to free speech and dissenting viewpoints.
Notable Quote:
“Harvard has been digging in, and they’re claiming that they’re digging in in defense of free speech, but what they’re really digging in on is they don’t want to change their policies, number one, that discriminate on race.”
[25:56] Ben Ferguson
Ferguson offers a historical perspective on the Democratic Party, arguing that it has transformed from a blue-collar, union-supported party to one dominated by coastal elites and academic institutions.
Key Points:
Shift from Blue-Collar to Elite Dominance: The party, once rooted in supporting working-class interests, is now portrayed as serving the interests of big universities, corporations, and Hollywood.
Cultural Marxism: Ferguson asserts that the Democratic Party and its associated institutions have been overrun by radical leftist ideologies, undermining traditional American values.
Notable Quote:
“Today's Democrat Party is a party of coastal elites and it is a party that is comprised big universities and big business and big tech and big Hollywood, all of whom have overlapping problems.”
[38:00] Ben Ferguson
The conversation critiques mainstream media outlets like MSNBC and CNN for their portrayal of Democrats' immigration policies, suggesting a bias that overlooks critical facts about illegal immigrants and gang affiliations.
Key Points:
Media Bias: Ferguson argues that media coverage lacks depth, often painting illegal immigrants like Garcia in a sympathetic light without acknowledging their criminal backgrounds.
Propaganda Allegations: The host labels Democratic policies and media narratives as propaganda serving leftist agendas rather than national interests.
Notable Quote:
“The entire thing is propaganda from the left.”
[22:02] Ben Ferguson
Ben Ferguson wraps up the episode by emphasizing the dangers he perceives in the Democratic Party’s current trajectory, linking it to broader societal and national security concerns.
Key Points:
National Security Risks: Allowing gang-affiliated illegal immigrants can exacerbate crime and terrorism threats within the United States.
Erosion of Federal Authority: The support for institutions like Harvard undermines federal civil rights laws and promotes ideological conformity over academic freedom.
Notable Quote:
“This defines who today's Democrat party is.”
[23:17] Ben Ferguson
Conclusion: In this episode, Ben Ferguson delivers a fervent critique of the Democratic Party’s immigration policies and institutional alliances, particularly targeting Harvard University’s defiance of federal laws. Through the lens of high-profile cases like that of Abrego Garcia, Ferguson argues that current Democratic strategies pose significant risks to national security and undermine the foundational principles of American governance and civil rights. The episode underscores a perceived shift within the Democratic Party towards elite dominance and ideological rigidity, challenging the party’s historical roots and its current alignment with radical leftist ideologies.
