Can't forget that there's tremendous wealth in the Middle east and a lot of that wealth is coming over here to build plants. Saudi Arabia is giving us $2 trillion. Qatar is giving us $2 trillion. UAE is giving us $2 trillion. All of that is for the good of this country. So my focus is very much on this country and but you can't lose sight of the fact that we need peace all over the world. You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson. Good Wednesday morning. So nice to have you with 47 Morning Update and we've got two big stories for you. First up, it is a massive argument that has major importance for the future of this generation and for children in sports, specifically bands to ban men acting like women from playing in women's sports. I'm going to take you inside the Supreme Court where I set for those oral arguments and what the ramifications could be come June or July when the Supreme Court announces their ruling. Also, the major protests are continuing to erupt in Iran. This as the U. S. Government says for Americans to get out immediately and protesters are now being killed by the thousands. So what is President Trump going to do Next? It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. Story number one. It was a monumental day at the Supreme Court yesterday and I had the honor of being there for the oral arguments in two major cases that have to deal with men in women's sports and protecting women from men claiming to be women who have taken over the locker rooms and the podiums of basically any sport they want to play. These two cases, they were important. The first one was little verse he and what it was was a challenge to an Idaho state law. It was a simple law that was protecting women's sports. It banned transgender girls, AKA boys acting like girls as well as men claiming to be women, from playing on girls and women's sports teams. Now this is one of the things that President Donald Trump promised he was going to do, protect women in the locker room and on the playing field. And now the conservative movement is paying off on fighting it all the way to the Supreme Court. Now, the core legal questions that were asked in the first case were actually really simple. Number one, whether state bans like, like the one that happened in Idaho violate the equal protection clause of the constitution or if they violate Title 9 the federal law barring sex discrimination and education. Now, you may ask yourself this question. Why does this matter? Well, if upheld, this decision could validate similar bans in more than two dozen states. And if it struck down, it could roll back laws restricting transgender youth participation in school athletics. As I said in the court, it was very interesting to watch the radical judges on the Supreme Court. Sodomayor is a great example of that. Elena, Kagan, and Brown, they all were sitting there and having one big conversation about how upset they were that there are not more children that identify as transgendered. Sotomayor almost went to the point of advocating for parents to transition their kids at a much younger age, because then that could give them what they believe is a legal precedence to make a change to the law mandating that transgender, AKA men acting like women or boys acting like girls, should be able to play in women's sports. It was also pretty clear in this first case that the conservatives on the court were siding with the idea of sanity, that there is a difference biologically between men and women. And even if you decide to play, you know, a crazy medical game game of suppressing hormones or adding estrogen or testosterone or whatever the concoction may be to make you more like the opposite sex, even when it's done perfectly many times, you still don't fall within the actual numbers needed to, quote, claim you are the opposite sex. So the takeaway from case number one was very clear. This is a major uphill battle for the left and for the radicals like the ACLU that are obsessed with destroying women's sports. There was also the second case, which was West Virginia versus bpj. It was a challenge to West Virginia law that similarly bars transgender girls from girls sports teams. The plaintiff was a transgender student athlete, Becky Pepper Jackson, who wants to compete in girls track and field. The legal issue, just like the first case, it's centered on whether Title 9 and the equal protection clause allows or prohibits states from categorizing sports teams based solely on biological sex at birth. Now, the key argument for the plaintiff, AKA the transgender athletes, was pretty simple. They kept saying over and over again that this is discrimination. The attorneys argue that the Idaho and West Virginia bands unlawfully discriminate against transgender students and deny them the educational and health benefits of participating in school sports. The reality is that's not true. You can participate in the sport in which you were biologically born, either a man or a woman. Now, when that argument fell flat on its face, they continued and contended that the title 9, interpreted in light of recent federal guidance, they claim prot transgender students from exclusion based on gender identity. Again, that is a lie. You can play the sport that you're included in from the moment you're born in the sex that you are. And if you want to start your own league at transgender league, knock yourself out. Also, the plaintiff said there's, quote, no evidence that the inclusive policies harm cisgender girl sports. That also blew up in their face. Inside the courtroom, as I watched as Supreme Court justices on the conservative side asked a simple question. What percentage of transured athletes are successful when they switch from male sports to female sports? And how often do they win? The numbers were staggering. Just how many times when a man decides to act like they are a woman, they're able to take away gold medals or NCAA championships or just winning games. And then there was the other aspect of the conversation, which the left hopes. You never talk about how many injuries happen because of men playing in women's sports and what's the severity of those injuries? Well, they can be catastrophic. We have seen major injuries, career ending injuries when men play in women's sports. Now, the key arguments for the states were pretty clear. Fairness in women's sports is what this is all about. The state lawyers and the supporting briefs that were delivered emphasize that policymakers have historically separated, for good reason, teams by biological sex to protect opportunities for girls and protect opportunities for women. They also argue that states have authority under Title IX to limit team eligibility to biological females for competitive fairness and safety reasons. The takeaway from being in the courtroom is this. The oral arguments suggest clearly that the conservative majority on the court may be sympathetic to the state's arguments and inclined to uphold the Idaho and West Virginia laws. The aclu, in fact, got themselves into a point where they couldn't even define for the court what the definition of a woman or a man is. That is just how radical the left has truly become. Yes, the ACLU couldn't answer that simple question, but wants to change the way that sports are run in this country. At the end of the day, I think it's pretty clear that this was a big victory in court at the Supreme Court today. And a big victory hopefully will be confirmed by the Supreme Court when the ruling comes down, likely in June or July. Now, story number two. There is a new warning for Americans in Iran. Get out now. Why? It looks like America is getting closer to defending. Those are standing up for their freedom and being killed in Iran. As we speak, we're seeing multiple different tallies that have been put out Depending on who you listen to. But what we do know now is that it looks like not hundreds but thousands of Iranians have been killed. Reuters is reporting as we speak that Iranian officials are admitting to roughly 2,000 people that have been killed. The official quote blamed the terrorists and did not provide supporting details. Rights groups and activists documentation are saying they believe it's more in the three to five thousand people that have been killed at range. The Associated Press reported the U. S Based human rights activist news agency is now estimating over 3,000 deaths as we speak. We also are being told that there's more than 18,000 Iranians that have been detained. And many times when you're detained you end up being killed by the government. There's also even higher end claims that are coming out but have not independently been verified that the count nationwide in Iran is more like 12 to 20,000 that have been killed. CBS News reporting claims of 12,000 or as many as 20,000 deaths as they are saying the news is trickling out. Why? Because the government still has the blackout on communications. The Internet and the phones are down. The bottom line is the red line that the president talked about has been crossed. The most cited documented figure in major wire reporting is now saying over 3,000 that have been murdered by the ayatollah. And the crackdown, well, it's brutal. Most are describing live fire and mass arrests, overwhelmed hospitals and intimidation even a medical staff to save people's lives who've been hurt or shot. One Guardian report cited doctors describing hundreds of gunshot eye injuries at a single Tehran hospital. Meaning the ayatollah is telling them to shoot them in the eye. America's response has been very clear. President Trump said that we will defend those that are being attacked. And the president is urging Iranians to keep protesting and saying help is on the way without specifically giving details. He also warned of a very strong action if Iran carries out executions of protesters, some that apparently have already been planned and suspending and halting meetings and contacts with Iranian officials until the violence stops. The State Department, the U. S Government also making it clear for a travel advisory. They plainly stated do not travel to Iran for any reason. U S Citizens in Iran should also leave immediately. They also emphasize that there is no u. S Embassy in Iran and warns of risk including civil unrest and arbitrary detention. Separately, the U. S Virtual embassy Iran security alert also highlights land border departures as an option when safe and reiterated the lack of in country u. S Consular support. If you need help now, the warning to Americans Iran is clear. Leave immediately practically and safety first wording saying quote if you're a u S citizen currently in Iran, the u S State department guidance is leave Iran now. Do not expect the u S help inside of Iran. The u S has as again no embassy if safe to do so. You should even consider departing by land via neighboring countries referencing the u S alert saying plans for these communication outages are also hard to communicate and they said if you cannot depart immediately, shelter in a secure location, keep a low profile and establish backup ways to communicate with family, satellite or other method methods if available. So here we are. At the end of the day, there's a blackout on purpose of good information getting out of the country. But what we now do know is Iran says it's open to talks with the U. S amid the protest crackdowns that are happening. We also know that it's very clear that the president is planning something what that may be. We don't know when it could happen. We also don't know. But more than likely it's going to happen in the very near future and we'll cover all of it for you here. Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson. Episode: The Fight to Keep Men Out of Women’s Sports plus State Department’s Warning in Iran ‘Get Out Now!’
Date: January 14, 2026
In this episode, host Ben Ferguson breaks down two major stories dominating the headlines:
Ferguson, known for his direct commentary and conservative perspective, provides inside-the-courtroom details and calls out what he sees as the radicalization of opposing viewpoints. He also analyzes the potential geopolitical fallout from the crisis in Iran.
[02:28 - 13:40]
Cases in Question
Legal Issues at Stake
Supreme Court Dynamics
Ferguson describes "radical judges" such as Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Brown as frustrated that more children aren’t identifying as transgender, with Sotomayor allegedly suggesting earlier transition could help set legal precedent.
“Sotomayor almost went to the point of advocating for parents to transition their kids at a much younger age, because then that could give them what they believe is a legal precedence…” —Ben Ferguson [04:35]
Conservative justices seen as grounded in "sanity," focusing on biological difference and fairness.
Arguments from Both Sides
Memorable Moments and Quotes
On the ACLU not being able to define "woman" or "man":
“The ACLU, in fact, got themselves into a point where they couldn’t even define for the court what the definition of a woman or a man is. That is just how radical the left has truly become.” —Ben Ferguson [10:50]
Injury risk and competitive fairness were highlighted:
“There was the other aspect of the conversation, which the left hopes you never talk about—how many injuries happen because of men playing in women’s sports… We have seen major injuries, career-ending injuries when men play in women’s sports.” —Ben Ferguson [09:25]
Ferguson’s Prediction
[13:40 - 16:08]
Escalating Violence and Deaths
Recent protests have resulted in thousands killed; official Iranian counts (“roughly 2,000”) are seen as underestimations, while independent reports and activists suggest numbers as high as 12,000 – 20,000.
“What we do know now is that it looks like not hundreds but thousands of Iranians have been killed. Reuters is reporting… roughly 2,000 people… Rights groups and activists say… three to five thousand… Claims… nationwide… 12 to 20,000 that have been killed.”—Ben Ferguson [14:31]
Widespread communication blackouts, mass detentions (over 18,000 arrested), and targeted crackdowns (e.g., gunshot eye injuries among protesters).
U.S. Government Response
President Trump maintains the U.S. will defend those being attacked and warns of “very strong action” if executions are carried out.
U.S. State Department issues stark travel advisories. Americans are urged to depart Iran immediately, noting there is no U.S. embassy and limited means of assistance.
“If you’re a U.S. citizen currently in Iran, the U.S. State Department guidance is: Leave Iran now. Do not expect U.S. help inside of Iran.” —Ben Ferguson [15:33]
Possible departure by land through neighboring countries is advised. Americans unable to leave should “shelter in a secure location, keep a low profile, and establish backup ways to communicate.”
Geopolitical Uncertainty
On the Court’s Reception to Plaintiff’s Arguments:
“The numbers were staggering… just how many times when a man decides to act like they are a woman, they’re able to take away gold medals or NCAA championships…” —Ben Ferguson [08:00]
On Potential Supreme Court Ruling:
“The takeaway from being in the courtroom is this: the oral arguments suggest clearly that the conservative majority on the court may be sympathetic to the state’s arguments…” —Ben Ferguson [10:30]
On Iran’s Violent Crackdown:
“The red line that the president talked about has been crossed… Most are describing live fire and mass arrests, overwhelmed hospitals, and intimidation even of medical staff to save people’s lives…” —Ben Ferguson [14:55]
On U.S. Evacuation Guidance:
“If safe to do so, you should even consider departing by land via neighboring countries…” —Ben Ferguson [15:41]
Ben Ferguson’s commentary is unapologetically direct and rooted in a conservative worldview. He repeatedly frames liberal positions as radical and highlights what he sees as logical inconsistencies or failures, especially in courtroom arguments. His reporting on Iran is serious, urgent, and focused on the safety of American citizens and the potential for presidential action.
This episode delivered detailed courtroom insight on the battle over women’s sports and transgender participation, forecasting conservative judicial victories, while providing urgent information and analysis on the volatile situation in Iran. Ferguson blends personal reporting, legal explanation, and political perspective, offering listeners both information and his unmistakable point of view.
