Good Saturday morning. Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update. And we've got one big story for you. President Trump say the Union. Well, we now know if it connected with voters. And the big question is, did the president get a real bump in the polls? The data, we've got it all for you. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. Story number one, we've got new data out about the performance of Donald Trump as president, United States of America, and the State of the Union address. And the numbers, well, they're exactly what I expected. Donald Trump's post State of the Union approval rating has now jumped to 51%. That is in a poll taken entirely after the President's triumphant State of the Union on Tuesday night. The new survey that came out was more than a thousand likely voters between February 24th and the 26th, and it found that 47.1% of those polled strongly approved of the job of the president was doing, while 3.7% said they approved. Trump's disapproval rating sits at 48%. Not surprising because we're a very divided country. The number, by the way, is made up of 39.1% who strongly disapprove of President Trump and what he's doing. That's your radical left, the socialist Marxists and communists, while 8.5% merely disapprove. Now, this poll is one that is significant because it shows that the president obviously did what he needed to do at that speech, talking to Americans and making sure that he feels like Americans have pride in their country. Part of what the president talked about
Donald Trump
250 years is a long time in the life of a nation. But in another sense, it's really a mere moment in the eye of history. Two of the gentlemen we met in the gallery this evening took their first breaths. One century ago. One hundred years before that, on July 4, 1826, the author of the Declaration of Independence, brilliant Thomas Jefferson, drew his last breath. Just a single long human Lifespan separates the giants who declared and won our independence from the heroes who stand among us tonight. Everything our nation has done, everything we have achieved, has been the work of those few great lifetimes. In those brief chapters, Americans built this nation from 13 humble colonies into the pinnacle of human civilization and human freedom. The strongest, wealthiest, most powerful, most successful nation in all of history. Americans ventured out across the daunting and dangerous continent. We carved paths through an unforgiving wilderness, settled a boundless frontier and tamed the beautiful but very, very dangerous Wild West. From empty marshes and wide open plains, we raised up the world's greatest cities. Together, we mastered the world's mightiest industries and shattered histories. Monstrous tyrannies. And we liberated millions from the chains of fascism, communism, oppression and terror. Americans lifted humanity into the skies on the wings of aluminum and steel. And then we launched mankind into the stars on rockets powered by sheer American will and unyielding American pride. We wired the globe with our ingenuity. We captivated the planet with American culture. And now we are pioneering the next great American breakthroughs that will change the entire world. All of this, and so much more, is the enduring legacy and unmatched glory of the hardworking patriots who built and defended this country and who still carry the hopes and freedoms on all of humanity's backs. For years, they were forgotten, betrayed and cast aside. But that great betrayal is over and they will never be forgotten again. Because when the world needs courage, daring, vision and inspiration, it is still turning to America. And when God needs a nation to work his miracles, he knows exactly who to ask. There is no challenge Americans cannot overcome. No frontier too vast for us to conquer. No dream too bold for us to chase. No horizon too distant for us to claim. For our destiny is written by the hand of Providence. And these first 250 years were just the beginning. From the rugged border towns of Texas to the heartland villages of Michigan, from the sun kissed shores of Florida to the endless fields of the Dakotas, and from the historic streets of Philadelphia to right here in our Nation's capital, Washington, D.C. the Golden Age of America is upon us. The revolution that began in 1776 has not ended. It still continues. Because the flame of liberty and independence still burns in the heart of every American patriot. And our future will be bigger, better, brighter, bolder and more glorious than ever before. Thank you, God bless you and God bless America.

It was that type of messaging during the State of the Union that made so many Americans remember exactly why they voted for Donald Trump in the first, first place. The President Talking about so many of his successes and what is happening right now with no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, getting rid of regulations that will lower the cost of cars, for example, all major things the President is talking about. He also spent time talking about how important it is that Americans aren't having to compete with massive corporations for housing standing up for so many Americans. And the way that President Trump talked about it was clear he was putting Americans first, ahead of corporations who were buying up so many houses and making it unaffordable for many Americans to get in the home buying process for the very first time. Just take a listen to President Trump talking about this issue at the State of the Union.
Donald Trump
Make that ban permanent. Because homes for people, really, that's what we want. We want homes for people, not for corporations. Corporations are doing just fine. Resellers, thank you very much. Good luck with your home. You'll get one soon.

Now, this wasn't just a line that the President wanted to deliver in the State of the Union to check a box. This is something the President is actually working very hard on. The President saying this at the World Economic Forum back at the end of January.
Donald Trump
Homeownership has always been a symbol of health and vigor of American society. But that goal fell out of reach for millions and millions of people in the Biden era because interest rates went up so high. Today, I'm taking action to bring back this bedrock of the American dream. In recent years, Wall street giants and institutional investment firms. Many of you are here, many of you are good friends of mine, many of you are supporters. Sorry to do this to you. I am so sorry. But you've driven up housing prices by purchasing hundreds of thousands of single family homes. And it's been a great investment for them, often as much as 10% of houses on the market. You know, the crazy thing is a person can't get depreciation on a house, but when a corporation buys it, they get depreciation. Okay, that's something we're going to have to think about, too. I don't know if too many people think about that. You buy a corporation, they buy 500 houses, they buy hundreds of thousands. They buy 500 houses, they can take depreciation. A person sweats and works and buys one house, they can't. But homes are built for people, not for corporations. And America will not become a nation of renters. We're not going to do that. That's why I have signed an executive order banning large institutional investors from buying single family homes. It's just not fair to the public. They're not, they're not able to buy a house. And I'm calling on Congress to pass that ban into permanent law. And I think they will.
Co-host or Producer
It's clear that President Trump has made this a priority for the midterm elections. It's exactly why he's campaigning on this issue. And it's exactly why, by the way, his approval rating went up in a significant way after the State of the Union. Because not only is President Trump saying, we want to put Americans first, he's also saying it's time to stop having Congress make it harder on you to buy a home. Donald Trump putting out a true social tweet, saying, quote, for a very long time, buying and owning a home was considered a pinnacle of the American dream. It was the reward for working hard and doing the right thing. But now, because of the record high inflation caused by Joe Biden and the Democrats in Congress, the American dream is increasingly out of reach for far too many people, especially younger Americans. It is for that reason and much more that I am immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single family homes. And I will be calling on Congress to codify it. People live in homes, not corporations. I will discuss this topic, including further housing and affordability proposals and more, at my speech in Davos in two weeks. And then he did it again in the State of the Union. Trump also going after the US Housing market and talking exactly about why these corporations need to be watched. A great example of this is after President Trump announced he's banning single family home purchases by institutional investors. Within minutes, Blackstone stock erased as much as $17 billion. Because people realize that the President's on to what's happening with institutional investors. And now calling on Congress to ban investment firms buying homes is exactly what the American people needed. They needed to make sure they can take care of themselves and become first time home buyers. That's why this is such an important conversation and again, why I think so many Americans are like, donald Trump is my president. I'm proud of him and he's standing up for all of us and trying to make it easier for us to live in the greatest country in the world.

This episode spotlights the aftermath of President Trump's State of the Union address, focusing on its impact on public sentiment and poll numbers. Ben Ferguson highlights how Trump’s patriotic messaging, focus on American pride, and new policy proposals have resonated with voters, as evidenced by a notable approval rating bump. Ferguson and his co-host break down Trump’s rhetoric, key initiatives—especially around housing affordability and the American Dream—and examine why these themes are reinvigorating Trump’s support base.
“Buying and owning a home was considered a pinnacle of the American dream... now, because of the record high inflation caused by Joe Biden and the Democrats in Congress, the American dream is increasingly out of reach.”
“...the strongest, wealthiest, most powerful, most successful nation in all of history... The revolution that began in 1776 has not ended. It still continues. Because the flame of liberty and independence still burns in the heart of every American patriot.”
“It was that type of messaging during the State of the Union that made so many Americans remember exactly why they voted for Donald Trump in the first, first place.”
“Homes are built for people, not for corporations. And America will not become a nation of renters. We're not going to do that.”
“I think so many Americans are like, Donald Trump is my president. I'm proud of him and he's standing up for all of us and trying to make it easier for us to live in the greatest country in the world.”
The episode underscores how Trump’s patriotic rhetoric and promises of economic populism, especially around homeownership, are revitalizing his support and giving him a tangible “bump” in approval ratings post-State of the Union. Ferguson and his co-host attribute this to both the substance and the sentiment of Trump’s messaging: a direct appeal to everyday Americans’ sense of pride and fairness in a time of economic anxiety.
For listeners seeking a sharp, pro-Trump breakdown of recent political events and policy moves, this episode is a clear example of how the 47 Morning Update frames and contextualizes headline news from the heart of the presidency.
