Joe Getty
Good. Monday morning, it is the 47 Morning Update, and we've got three major stories for you, all coming out of the riots in la. First up, Donald Trump responding to what Democrats in office in California are calling peaceful protests. Well, the president's not buying it, and now he's stepping up to protect every American. We'll have that. First up next, the media lying to your face as the city is burning, telling you it's not a real riot. And many elected officials are telling you it's just a peaceful protest. So are they going to get away with the big lie? We'll expose it for you in a moment. Moment. And finally, you may want to know what started all of this in California. Well, ICE came in and we're going to tell you the stories of those who they were arresting. But first, folks, we are seeing something truly disturbing, and that is anti Semitism on the rise around the world. And sadly, right here in America, Jewish schools are being targeted. Synagogues are being threatened. Families are living in fear. It's something we'd hoped we'd never see again in our lifetime. And let me say this, silence is not an option. This is the moment that we stand with men, women and children and Holocaust survivors in Israel and in America. And that's why I want you to know about the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. They are on the front lines providing real help where it's needed the most. They're giving food and shelter to Jewish families under threat. They're building bomb shelters for children. They're helping survivors of hate rebuild their lives and they don't just respond to crisis, they work every day to prevent it as well. Your gift of $45 will help support their life saving work by helping provide food, shelter and much more. The Bible says I will bless those who bless you. And supporting IFCJ is a spiritual stand. It's showing up for God's people when they need us the most. So please think about getting involved with IFCJ as I've done. They're an incredible organization where what you do has a direct impact on the people of Israel. The number 888488 IFCJ. That's 888-488-IFCJ or go online to IFCJ.org Every dollar helps. So please give and make a difference. IFCJ.org or 888-488-IFCj it's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. Donald Trump taking charge where liberal leaders in California refuse to admit that there is a riot that is actually going on. And that is why the president has now decided to deploy the National Guard in LA. President Trump has invoked his authority under Title 10 to federalize and deploy 2000 California National Guard troops to Los Angeles. He described the move as liberating the city from migrant invasion, even stating they split we hit to justify a tough stance amid violence and anti ICE protests. Here's the President in his own words.
Donald Trump
Mr. President, do you think if Democrats continue to side with illegal aliens over.
Law enforcement that they'll ever be able to win a national election again? I love this guy. I think that is the great. Who you with? My partner is great, great group. Right part. Great group. I think that you're going to see some very strong law and order suggesting that this wasn't a real riot in Los Angeles. Is that what she said? Oh, I think it was a riot. I think it was very bad. It was covered really as a riot by almost everybody. You first see those protests spread into other cities, Chicago, New York, for example.
In the next few days, we're going.
To be watching it very closely. And when they spit at people, you know, they spit. That's their new thing. They spit and worse, you know what they throw at them.
Joe Getty
Right.
Donald Trump
And when that happens, I have a little statement. They say they spit. We hit. I told them nobody's gonna spit on our police officers. Nobody's gonna spit on our military. Which they do, is a common thing. They get up to them this far away and then they start spitting in their face.
Joe Getty
That happens.
Donald Trump
They get hit very hard. What are the rules being pa, see what happens. If we think there's a serious insurrection or less than that. We're going to have law and order. Very important. You have an incompetent governor. Just take a look at the, at the train stations that he's building, like 20 times over budget. Nobody's ever seen anything like it. So I did call him the other night. I said, look, you got to take care of this, otherwise I'm sending in the troops. That's what we did.
Joe Getty
Now, President Trump is leading on the issue, and Democrats are defending the worst criminals in the state of California right now. Governor Gavin Newsom, for example, decried the deployment as, quote, purposefully inflammatory and a rare presidential action taken without state approval, calling it a serious breach of state sovereignty. The mayor in la, Karen Bass, also condemned both the immigration sweeps of the worst criminals in la, and she then called it militarized tactics, emphasizing support for immigrant communities, AKA illegal immigrants, and demanding the peaceful protests, which are not peaceful, continue to grow. Now, the Trump administration says we are continuing to do what the law says, enforcing the law and backing Donald Trump's agenda that the American people voted for, for significant actions against the tens of millions of illegal immigrants in this country. This move also comes after the travel ban affecting nations, and also the president saying that if local law enforcement refuses to work with ice, we will still come in and do our job. At the end of the day, President Trump is making it clear, no matter where illegal immigrants are, rapists and murderers and sex traffickers and drug traffickers, the United States government will find you, even if you are in a liberal city trying to protect you, like Los Angeles.
Jack Armstrong
Next story number two.
Joe Getty
You can turn on most news news channels and you can look on social media and you can see the anarchy that is taking place in la. But if you listen to the media, especially the liberal mainstream media, they will tell you, don't believe your eyes. Politicians getting in on it as well. Elizabeth Warren is describing the anarchy as, quote, peaceful protests. Former presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris called it, quote, overwhelmingly peaceful. Cory Booker also getting in on the action, saying it is peaceful protests. And Gavin Newsom described the anarchy in a state as, quote, it's under control. Even the Los Angeles Police Department, which has been standing down from going after the rioters and looters, they described it over the weekend as, quote, without incident. So what is the reality on the ground? Well, you can see it for your eyes, but if you listen to Cory Booker, not only will he tell you that nothing is wrong in California, but he actually blames Donald Trump. And he also said says something else. He says, this is just the beginning. The question I have for Cory Booker and all the other Democrats is how do we know? Or I should say, how do they know? This is just the beginning. Could it be that what we are witnessing in LA is what we may see in a summer of unrest all over the country where Democrats finance and organize these types of riots with illegal immigrants, just like we saw in the summer of Black Lives Matter, riots that they claimed were peaceful. As you can see, buildings and police cars and police stations being burned to the ground. Listen carefully to Cory Booker's words as he describes this as just the beginning.
Cory Booker
The reality is we see peaceful protests launching in Los Angeles. And again, any violence against police officers should not be accepted. Local authorities can handle that. But remember, a lot of these peaceful protests are being generated because the President United States is sowing chaos and confusion by arresting people who are showing up for their immigration hearings.
Joe Getty
Just the beginning, folks. Just the beginning. Now, you also want to hear how the media is trying to act like this is not a riot. They compared it to the Rodney King riots back in the 90s on CNN. And Dana Bash trying to convince her audience on, say, the union. It's really just not that big of a deal. It's pretty bad.
Ben Ferguson
That's a different question. But I just, I just want to just stay for the record that what did happen in 1992 was so different from what we're seeing now. I mean, that was, that was a, a real, a real riot that went all across the city of Los Angeles after a verdict in the Rodney King case. This is a situation where the LA County, LA County Police, it's not good, but they're saying that they have it under control. And the, and the President is sending national troops in a way that we can look at, hasn't been done in a long time.
Joe Getty
Obviously, see that it is not under control. It's not under control. You and I both see that it's not under control.
Ben Ferguson
Let's.
Joe Getty
And a riot is a riot. They're throwing, they're throwing all types of objects at law enforcement. And the President is absolutely right. It is amazing. Even at cnn, they're still looking at you saying what you're seeing is not real. Even the head of the Democratic Party in the House, Hakeem Jeffries, getting in on the insanity. And here's what he had to say about what's going on in LA as he decides it's time to out those men and Women that are doing an amazing job. ICE agents saying, we want to know who you are. Comparing them to Nazis in Germany in the 1930s and letting people know that if you know any of the ICE agents, put them out on the Internet. Show who they are, their home addresses, their family members and their social media accounts. Because the Democrats believe that ICE agents are the enemy instead of the gang members, cartel members, terrorists, human traffickers, rapists and murderers that ICE are trying to get off the streets.
Cory Booker
Every single ICE agent who's engaged in this aggressive overreach and are trying to hide their identities from the American people will be unsuccessful in doing that. This is America. This is not the Soviet Union. We're not behind the Iron Curtain. This is not the 1930s. And every single one of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes, will of course be.
Joe Getty
Identified, will be identified. So the Democratic Party is declaring war right now on ICE agents. And that's not all. One more clip from CNN as they talk to Maxine Waters. And what do they have to say? Well, they're in shock that National Guardsmen have batons to protect themselves and ammunition that are in a gun. Yes. Now they're saying they can't understand why the National Guard would have weapons as a city is on fire. Listen closely.
Donald Trump
And then I want you to take a look what these Guardsmen are carrying. You can see these large sticks. We saw them about 15 minutes ago. Pull them out and take a more aggressive posture as if to be prepared to push back the crowd. But then the weapon that they're holding are standard issue M4 weapons. They're military M4 rifles. And take a closer look at that magazine. Those are magazines suggesting that they are indeed loaded with ammunition. And I want you to take a larger look at this crowd that we have. This isn't a sizable crowd, it's a growing crowd. But this is what they are seeing here in downtown Los Angeles, an incredible militarized force. It actually brought Congresswoman Maxine Walters this image brought her down here to the Metropolitan Detention Center. She tried to get inside to talk to the President of seiu. He was detained. She could not get in. The door indeed was slammed in her face. And then here's what she said about the militarization she's seeing here in downtown.
Maxine Waters
Los Angeles will end up being used. I don't know why we have guns. What are those guns for? Are they the shoot protesters? I mean, there's no reason to be here with the National Guard. The President of the United States is cruel dishonorable human being who just assumed they shoot somebody down. But I don't want that to happen. I do not want. I want the elected officials to do everything that we can to dissuade them.
Joe Getty
So let's just be clear. The Democratic Party hates ice. They think they are the bad guys. They want to dox them and put their families and their lives at risk. They also believe that there's no violence and there is no riot in la. And Maxine Waters says, we're not done yet. We're now going to go after the National Guard and say that they are evil and that they are going to have guns. What are their plans? To shoot people? So let's just be clear. The Democratic Party is on the side of the cartels, the human smugglers, the terrorist organizations, the sex traffickers, and those that are bringing in the fentanyl that's killing more young people than anything else in American history. If you want to know whose side I'm on, I'm on the side of law and order and President Donald Trump.
Jack Armstrong
And lastly, story number three.
Joe Getty
The mayor of la, Karen Bass, put out a statement saying, quote, this morning we received reports of federal immigration enforcement actions in multiple locations in Los Angeles. As mayor of a proud city of immigrants who contribute to our city in so many ways, she's referring to illegal immigrants. I'm deeply angered by what has taken place. These tactics so terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city. So to be clear, the mayor is saying that the law enforcement agencies are the terrorists and the people that are in terrorist organizations we are protecting. She went on to say, say my office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations, meaning we are advocating and defending the illegal immigrants who are being prosecuted by ice. And she then says, we will not stand for this. So the question that you should ask now is, well, who were they trying to arrest? Let me just go through some of the names for you. The Department of Homeland Security, for example, has confirmed that a Vietnamese illegal alien ICE arrest in the LA operation yesterday is a convicted murderer and gang member who was involved in shooting up a high school graduation party in San Marino in 1994, killing not one, two young teenagers with a bright future and injuring seven others. The individual and other gang members were asked to leave the party after a dispute. What did they do? They came back with an AK47, shotguns and a handgun and then opened fire, killing an 18 year old teen and a 15 year old teen. This is exactly who the Democrats are defending and hiding from. ICE agents. The Department of Homeland Security spokesman saying in a statement, this cold blooded killer is who the rioters are trying to protect over US Citizens. The brave men and women of ICE put their lives on the line every day to arrest violent criminals like this and protect the lives of American citizens. That's not all. Jesus Hernandez Morales is a Mexican national and an aggravated felon with prior conviction for conspiracy to transport an illegal alien. Thank goodness he was deported yesterday. Jose Merendez Ortiz is an Ecuadorian national with convictions for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute not one, not two, not three, not four, but five kilos of cocaine on a single trip in Florida. Lionel Sanchez Laguna, a Mexican national with convictions for firing a gun at an occupied dwelling in the oc. Also, battery of a spouse, beating his wife and willful child cruelty. Plus a dui, an assault with a firearm. He had deportation orders since 2020. And yes, the Democrats were protecting him as well. So if you think that ICE is out there just randomly grabbing people, well, that's what the media wants you to believe. But they're lying to you. Just like they say. These are peaceful protests.

Summary of "Trump Protecting Americans as the Left Advocates for Riots in LA"
The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson
Release Date: June 9, 2025
In this episode, host Ben Ferguson delves into the escalating situation in Los Angeles, where riots have erupted amidst conflicting narratives from political leaders and the media. The discussion centers around President Donald Trump's decisive actions to restore order, the contrasting responses from Democratic officials, and the controversial operations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Below is a detailed breakdown of the key topics covered.
The episode opens with a comprehensive analysis of President Trump's response to the riots in Los Angeles. Amidst what Democrats describe as peaceful protests, the President has taken a firm stance by deploying the National Guard to restore order.
Trump's Justification and Assertions:
President Trump elaborates on his decision, stating, "Nobody's gonna spit on our police officers. Nobody's gonna spit on our military." (05:07)
He emphasizes the severity of the situation, mentioning, "This is a serious insurrection... We're going to have law and order." (05:25)
Deployment Details:
Invoking his authority under Title 10, Trump federalized and deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles. This move aims to counteract what he describes as a "migrant invasion" and to support local law enforcement overwhelmed by the unrest.
Democratic Response:
Governor Gavin Newsom criticized the deployment as "purposefully inflammatory" and a "serious breach of state sovereignty." Similarly, Mayor Karen Bass condemned the immigration sweeps and labeled the tactics as "militarized."
Trump's Critique of Democratic Leadership:
Trump did not shy away from attacking Democratic officials, labeling Governor Newsom as "incompetent" and criticizing the mismanagement of funds for infrastructure projects like train stations.
Ferguson and Getty express significant concern over the media's handling of the riots, arguing that mainstream outlets are downplaying the severity of the situation.
Discrepancy in Narratives:
High-profile Democrats such as Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Cory Booker have characterized the riots as "peaceful protests." For instance, Booker stated, "The reality is we see peaceful protests launching in Los Angeles." (09:20)
In stark contrast, the hosts highlight visible signs of chaos, including buildings, police cars, and police stations being damaged or destroyed.
Comparison to Historical Events:
Ben Ferguson draws parallels to the 1992 Rodney King riots, asserting, "What did happen in 1992 was so different from what we're seeing now." (10:01)
They argue that the current situation warrants a more robust response, as evidenced by the deployment of National Guard troops armed with M4 rifles.
Criticism of Media Downplaying:
The hosts accuse media personalities like Dana Bash of attempting to minimize the unrest, suggesting a deliberate effort to shape public perception contrary to observable reality.
A significant portion of the discussion focuses on ICE's recent arrests in Los Angeles, targeting individuals with serious criminal backgrounds, and the ensuing political fallout.
Profiles of Arrested Individuals:
Vietnamese National: A convicted murderer involved in a 1994 shooting at a high school graduation party, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
Mexican National, Jesus Hernandez Morales: An aggravated felon with prior convictions related to drug trafficking.
Ecuadorian National, Jose Merendez Ortiz: Convicted for conspiring to distribute substantial quantities of cocaine in Florida.
Mexican National, Lionel Sanchez Laguna: Convicted of multiple offenses, including firearm assault and domestic violence, with existing deportation orders.
Democratic Criticism of ICE:
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has openly criticized ICE agents, likening them to Nazis and advocating for their exposure, which the hosts argue puts ICE personnel and their families at risk. Jeffries stated, "Every single ICE agent who's engaged in this aggressive overreach... will be identified." (11:38)
Defense of ICE by Hosts:
Ferguson and Getty vehemently defend ICE's actions, emphasizing their role in apprehending dangerous criminals. They argue that Democrats are undermining law enforcement efforts, thereby endangering public safety.
Mayor Karen Bass's Stance:
Mayor Bass labeled ICE's operations as "terroristic" and asserted her support for immigrant communities, further fueling the partisan divide over immigration enforcement.
Conclusion
In this episode, The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson presents a critical view of the current unrest in Los Angeles, highlighting President Trump's proactive measures against what he and his supporters perceive as orchestrated riots fueled by illegal immigration. The hosts argue that there is a significant disconnect between media portrayals and the actual severity of the situation, attributing the downplayed narratives to political biases within mainstream media outlets. Additionally, the episode underscores the polarized views on ICE's role in immigration enforcement, painting a stark contrast between Republican support for stringent law enforcement and Democratic criticism of ICE operations.
Listeners are encouraged to reflect on the presented narratives and consider the underlying political dynamics shaping the discourse around law and order, immigration, and media integrity.
