The American people, even if you look at polling, they're very happy because, you know, Biden was throwing money around like it's cotton candy. But the American taxpayer now is going to get their money back. Plus, you're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson. Good Wednesday morning, Ben Ferguson with you. And here are the big stories we're covering on the 47 Morning Update. First up, 4.5 trillion in tax cuts has passed. Pass the House of Representatives. All part of Donald Trump's plan. What does this mean for you? I'll explain it in just a moment. Also, a Texas rancher has been murdered by a cartel ied. Proof yet again that Trump was right to declare them terrorist organizations. Those details as well. And finally, the FBI is turning on the deep state that went after Donald Trump with a real FBI investigation of what they were doing that may have been illegal against the president. It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now. One, it was a massive victory for Donald Trump, for the Republican Party and for Speaker Johnson. But even bigger than that, it's a massive win for the American taxpayers as Donald Trump's budget, with a $4.5 trillion in tax cuts, passed a House vote. The massive GOP bill would also direct 4 trillion towards raising the debt limit. The House of Representatives adopted the resolution that will eventually become a massive multi trillion dollar bill full of President Donald Trump's priorities on the border, on defense, on energy and tax cuts. For you, this was the biggest victory for the House GOP leadership so far. The resolution passing in a very tight vote 217 to 215. All democrats vote against the measure to cut your taxes, along with lone Republican rebel Representative Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky who is concerned about its effects on the national deficit. Now, the next step is now for the relevant House committees to meet and build their own proposals, which will eventually be returned into the framework and then negotiated into a compromise deal with the Senate Republican leadership. It was a intense scene in the House chamber on Monday night as Republican leaders delayed formally ending a vote for almost 45 minutes as they worked to convince conservative fiscal hawks to support the legislation. When you have a thin majority in the House, this is exactly what everyone expected to happen. Now impatient Democrats called out loud for the vote to be closed as Republicans huddled in various groups trying to make sure they could get the numbers to win. Two people on the floor of the House even telling Fox News that President Donald Trump got involved at one point speaking to one of the holdouts. Representative Victoria Sparks, a Republican from Indiana, speaking to her by phone. Representative Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee, and Warren Davidson, a Republican from Ohio, could be seen on the phone at other points on the House floor as well, but it's not clear if they were speaking directly to the president. At one point, the House GOP leaders appeared to lose confidence that they had enough support and abruptly canceled the plan vote. Moments later, however, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle were rushing back to the House floor, and then they were told the vote would be held. Meanwhile, three House Democrats who had been absent earlier in the day returned for the Tuesday evening vote in a dramatic fashion. Representative Brittany Petterson, a Democrat from Colorado who had a baby roughly a month ago, returned to the House floor with her infant to oppose the bill. And Representative Kevin Mullen, a Republican from California who was recently hospitalized for an infection, appeared in the chamber aided by a walker. House and Senate Republicans are aiming now to use their majorities to advance Donald Trump's agenda via the budget reconciliation process. So what happens next? It is on to the Senate to negotiate with the House to come up with a final bill that they can agree on, to then send it hopefully to the president's desk to be signed. Make no mistake, this was a massive victory for the American voters, for taxpayers and for Donald Trump's agenda. Now, story number two. The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, made it very clear during the campaign that he believed the cartels in Mexico are, in fact, terrorist organizations. He made good on that pledge to go after them by declaring them terrorist organizations, which changes the way that the American government can interact with all of these cartels. Well, what makes them terrorists? Look at the latest headline. A Texas border rancher has now been murdered near the border by a suspected cartel IED, the same type of IEDs that we see in war in the Middle East. The Texas Department of Agriculture has confirmed the report and officials issued an urgent safety warning for the Rio Grande Valley. The rancher was a man, Antonio, who was 74. He worked on both sides of the border along with another individual by the name of Lopez Pena that were killed in the blast on the border with Mexico, just south of Brownsville, Texas. Lopez's wife was hospitalized as well with injuries. The man was driving on his ranch when he hit the explosive device, causing it to detonate that, according to local reports. The Texas Agricultural Commissioner, Sid Miller, said the deadly explosion is part of a growing threat posed by cartel activity along our southern border and encourages ranchers to exercise now extreme caution in the area. Quote, I encourage everyone in the agricultural industry to stay vigilant, remain aware of their surroundings, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. Additionally, you can avoid dirt roads and remote areas, refrain from touching unfamiliar objects that could be explosive devices, limit travel to daylight hours, stay on main roads, and avoid cartel controlled regions. Miller said in the statement. The man's son, a US army veteran who was also injured by an IED during a deployment, was shocked to learn of his father's killing back home. Quote, I consider this a terrorist attack because I went to war to fight terrorists and I'm seeing the same thing here. To me, my personal opinion, it's a terrorist attack. Now, this isn't the first time we have seen these types of warnings. Border agents are receiving warnings about increased threats from cartels. And the Trump administration has responded, like I said earlier, by designating many of them as foreign terrorist organizations. So if you think the president was overreacting, just know that there are men and women on the border ranchers in agriculture who are now being blown up and murdered by the cartels using IEDs the same way that they are used in Iraq, Afghanistan, and against the people in Israel. And here is story number three. The Federal Bureau of Investigations has now officially told the world that they are investigating a secret honeypot operation that targeted President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign that according to a recent report, the FBI Director Cash Patel, who was recently confirmed and sworn in, and the FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino are reportedly looking for two female agents who took part in an off the book investigation, quote, unquote, that former FBI Director James comey launched in 2015. This according to the Washington Times, the agents who were undercover were called, quote, honeypot agents, a term that refers to an undercover operative, usually a woman with sexual or romantic interests used to obtain information from a target. Again, this coming from the Washington Times. Now this comes after the Times previously reported in October of 2024 that the House Judiciary Committee was looking into a whistleblower's claim that the agency targeted Trump soon after he announced his presidential campaign in June of 2016. In what was described as a fishing expedition to, quote, find something. In a protected disclosure, the whistleblower and FBI agent claimed that two undercover agents had infiltrated Trump's presidential campaign. Remember when Donald Trump said his campaign was spied on? Well, apparently they were sending an attractive females to try to get intel or to set up the president. Again, this was during his campaign run to become president in 16 and had been instructed these women to act as, quote, honey pots while traveling with Donald J. Trump. According to the outlet, the agent, quote, personally knew that Mr. Comey ordered an FBI investigation against Mr. Trump and that Mr. Comey, quote, personally directed it, quote, unquote. According to the disclosure, the off the books investigation did not appear to target a specific crime either, but was more of what agents would describe as a fishing expedition to find something, find anything that could be used against Donald Trump. The outlet also noted that the whistleblower's disclosure claimed that the investigation was different from Crossfire Hurricane, which targeted Russian collusion. We all know that was obviously a big lie. Breitbart News also previously reported that during Trump's first term in office, he ordered more documents from Operation Crossfire Hurricane to be declassified. I determined that the materials in that binder should be declassified to the maximum extent possible is what Donald Trump said in 2021. Now, there's many that are going to say this is Donald Trump going after his, quote, political enemies. If you look at the facts, it's very clear that's not the case. In reality, this is the FBI investigating a secret honeypot operation targeting Donald Trump's campaign and trying to alter the outcome of an election.
