More money per pupil than any country. And it's not even close. We rank near the bottom of the list in terms of success. Those are two stats. You don't want the most money spent per pupil and you're at the bottom of the list. And that's where we are, like it or not.

Good Friday morning, Ben Ferguson with you. And it's so nice to have you on the 47 Morning Update. And here are the big three stories we're talking about today. Donald Trump signs the executive order dismantling the Department of Education. So what does this mean for you in the state that you live in? It's going to have a big impact and I'll break it down for you. Also, Hollywood going all in against Elon, even accusing him of, quote, killing people as they organize to terrorize Tesla owners and dealerships. And finally, attempted murder. Fifteen plus conservatives have been targeted by swatting attacks in a one week period. Who's behind it? I'll explain that as well. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now.
Story number one.
It is official, the Department of Education has been significantly dismantled in a new Donald Trump executive order. The White House says the initiative seeks to turn over education to families instead of bureaucracies. The president explaining it this way.
Donald Trump
Today we take a very historic action that was 45 years in the making. In a few moments, I will sign an executive order to begin eliminating the federal Department of Education once and for all. And it sounds strange, doesn't it? Department of Education, we're going to eliminate it. And everybody knows it's right and the Democrats know it's right. And I hope they're going to be voting for it because ultimately it may come before them. But everybody knows it's right and we have to get our children educated. We're not doing well with the, with the world of education in this country. And we haven't for a long time.
Ben Ferguson
We haven't for a long time. The president said on the campaign trail that it was time to return education to parents and communities. And he also said in this executive order that it directs the secretary of education to, quote, take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education, return education authority to each state, while continuing to ensure the effectiveness and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs and benefits on which Americans rely in translation. He knows the fear mongering the left is going to do, claiming that a school will close and your kid will not be educated during this time of change. President making it clear in the executive action that is not an option. The order also directs that programs or activities receiving any remaining Department of Education funds will not advance DEI or gender ideology. Dismantling bureaucracy and empowering families is what this order is all about. Federal government control of education has failed students, parents and teachers. The President saying this about the history of the Department of Education.
Donald Trump
President Carter created the federal education department in 1979. It was opposed by members of his own cabinet as well as the American Federation of Teachers, the New York Times editorial board, and the famed Democrat Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. History has proven them right. Absolutely right. After 45 years, the United States spends more money on education by far than any other country and spends likewise by far more money per pupil than any country. And it's not even close. But yet we rank near the bottom of the list in terms of success. It's an amazing stat. That's those are two stats. You don't want the most money spent per pupil and you're at the bottom of the list. And that's where we are, like it or not, and we've been there for a long time.
Ben Ferguson
Just how bad is it? Well, since 1979, the Department of Education, which does not directly educate students, has spent over $3 trillion without improving student achievements as measured by standardized National Assessment of Educational Progress scores. The federal taxpayers have spent around 200 billion in additional education funding during COVID 19, which given the substantial learning loss that resulted, typifies the ineffectiveness of the current federally driven model. Mathematics and reading scores are down in public schools as well, despite per pupil spending having increased by more than 275% since the 1970s, indicating that more spending does not mean a better education for our kids in public schools. How bad is it? 13 year olds Mathematics scores are the lowest they've been in decades. 13 year olds reading scores are the lowest since testing began over 30 years ago right now, and low performing students are falling further behind. In 2023, 13 Baltimore, Maryland high schools had zero students who tested proficient in mathematics. The Department of Education burdened schools with regulations and paperwork, the President said as well, saying it's time now to allow the states and ultimately the parents to do what is best for their kids. To put in perspective, Biden's Department of Education added rules that impose nearly 3.9 billion in costs and 4,239,530 paperwork hours. If you want to know what's killing our education system, it's clearly the bureaucracy of the federal government.
Now, story number two.
There is a war happening right now against every Tesla owner in the country and every dealership and every employee of Tesla. And it's being organized by the left. You may have noticed a trend that every time the left doesn't get what they want, there is money that comes in to organize, quote, activists to go after whatever it is they want to get rid of. You may remember the summer violence where even on tv, as police stations were being burned to the ground behind reporters, they were calling the protests, quote, mostly peaceful protests. Well, now their new target is Tesla because of Elon Musk, a man that is totally saving the American people hundreds of billions of dollars, finding waste, fraud, and abuse. So what's the best way to get him to stop doing that work? Try to bankrupt his companies? John Cusack, for example, the famous actor, appeared on what they're now calling a Tesla takedown. They even have graphics and, in essence, a TV channel where they talk bad about Elon Musk and make people want to burn Teslas, shoot them up, which is exactly what's happening all over the country. What did John Cusack actually say? He said that Elon Musk is, quote, literally killing people. Why would he say that? To justify the extreme violence coming from those that have been activated. Here's what he had to say on X about Elon Musk.
John Cusack
And Donald Trump said, you know, Musk is kind of this arch villain of late stage capitalism, and he seems like this clown and this buffoon, but like Alex said, you know, this is a man who made a Sig Heil Nazi salute, not only in public, but at a presidential victory party. It's good to remember that these are unprecedented times of mass criminality going on in the United States right now. And that, like Trump, Musk is a pathological liar, he's a criminal, he's a sociopath and a ghoul. And I mean those terms very precisely, because who else would use his own child as a sympathy prop while literally taking starving aid away from people, people all over the world. He's literally killing people. People are going to die because of this madness. He's a man who threw 80,000 people from the VA out of work indiscriminately. And as far as the plunder, I would urge everybody to really follow Bernie Sanders Fighting Oligarchy tour and listen to what he has to say, because the list of abuses is too big to even tackle within five or 10 minutes. But I think it's important to know that not only are they trying to steal everything that isn't bolted down to the floor. But as they get into these systems and plunder, they're also. He's also interested in the metadata. So when he gets into the treasury, the metadata is all the connections between all of us who are talking right now. Everything we've ever looked at online, every car we've ever tried to buy or any, any movie we watched, anything we've done, all that stuff is. Metadata is like the new oil for these people.
Ben Ferguson
Isn't it amazing that this is John Cusack literally accusing Elon Musk of doing exactly what the Democratic Party was doing to conservatives while on social media, and now saying that because of these accusations, which are absolutely bogus and insane, that now you are justified to go out and attack Tesla owners and the dealerships. Even the Daily show and other news outlets getting in on the action. This is the host and you can hear the audience cheering the violence. Jim, they're taking to the streets or the, the parking lots.
News Reporter
Tonight, the FBI and ATF now investigating multiple cases of possible arson targeting Teslas and cybertruck.
Ben Ferguson
This dramatic video shows multiple cars in flames. Police say the attacker used Molotov cocktails. It's the latest in more than a dozen instances of arson and vandalism targeting Tesla.
News Reporter
The same suspect shot more Teslas with a gun. Tesla cybertrucks were set on fire in Kansas City. And earlier this month, shots fired at a Tesla dealership in Oregon. Cybertrucks on fire in Seattle.
Ben Ferguson
Wow, you guys like petty acts of domestic terrorism, huh? You can hear the audience there so excited about this type of violence. Thank goodness the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, has stepped in, announcing charges for Tesla tax and warning against domestic terrorism, saying, quote, if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars. Thank goodness law and order is back at the Department of Justice and at the FBI.
And finally, story number three.
If there's anything that's become clear in the last two months is that the left has become completely unhinged. Now you can add attempted murder. Plus, 15 conservatives have been targeted by swatting attacks in a single week. A series of swatting incidents targeting conservative commentators and journalists have transpired nearly every evening since March 11. This, according to the victims, who are sharing video surveillance footage and photos of the events, sparking questions as to who is engaging in what Representative Andy Ogles described as domestic terrorism and attempted murder. The FBI Director, Cash Patel and the Attorney General, Pam Bondi and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem have also reacted to the wave of dangerous crimes. In terms, swatting refers to an anonymous attacker targeting someone for making a false call to emergency services, using anonymous tools like Google Voice or VPNs to make it appear the call is coming from a certain location and telling authorities a murder or hostage event is transpiring at a particular address. Swatting is designed to prompt SWAT teams to arrive at the targeted home and descend on the unsuspecting victims, which in the past have led to deadly encounters and murder charges for the offender. At the time of this story breaking, there has been at least 15 figures already in conservative politics and media that have reported being swatted within the course of the last week. The string of swatting incidents seemingly began on the evening of March 11, with Infowars reporter revealing in an early morning X post that six to eight police officers used a PA system to call me by name and order me to walk out of my house. I was handcuffed in the middle of the street, presumably at gunpoint, though I couldn't tell because the lights being shined in my face. I was then led into the house where my wife was woken up and we were informed that they received a call from someone pretending to be me threatening to kill my family. Then after that, many others received the exact same treatment. Another reporter was swatted not once but twice in a single day and many other journalists are now saying it's very clear they were all targeted in a coordinated attack. Federal government now saying very clearly they are going to hunt down those who are making these calls and putting conservative commentators lives at risk.

Episode Title: Trump's Bold Move: Dismantling the Department of Education and Battling Bureaucracy
Release Date: March 21, 2025
Host: Ben Ferguson
Published by: Premiere Networks
The episode opens with a significant political move by former President Donald Trump, who has signed an executive order aimed at dismantling the U.S. Department of Education. Ben Ferguson delves into the implications of this decision, highlighting Trump's longstanding criticism of federal involvement in education.
Key Highlights:
Trump's Rationale: Trump argues that despite the U.S. spending more per pupil than any other country, educational outcomes remain dismal. He states, “We rank near the bottom of the list in terms of success” (00:00), emphasizing the inefficiency of federal control.
Historical Context: The Department of Education was established in 1979 under President Carter, facing opposition from various quarters, including the American Federation of Teachers and Democrat Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Trump references this history, asserting, “History has proven them right. Absolutely right” (03:18).
Financial Mismanagement: Since its inception, the Department has allocated over $3 trillion without a corresponding improvement in student achievements. During the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional $200 billion was spent, yet standardized test scores in mathematics and reading have plummeted to their lowest in decades (04:06).
Bureaucratic Burden: The Department imposed nearly $3.9 billion in new regulations and demanded over 4.2 million hours of additional paperwork, which Trump criticizes as stifling educational progress (04:06).
Impact:
Return to States and Families: The executive order mandates that education authority be returned to individual states and families, aiming to reduce federal bureaucracy.
Safeguarding Programs: Any remaining Department of Education funds must cease to support DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives or gender ideology, aligning with Trump's agenda to prioritize traditional educational values.
Ben Ferguson underscores the potential transformative effect of this move, suggesting that empowering local communities and parents could revitalize the education system.
The second major topic discusses a perceived orchestrated attack by Hollywood and left-leaning entities against entrepreneur Elon Musk and his company, Tesla. Ferguson portrays this as part of a broader strategy to undermine Musk's influence and operations.
Key Highlights:
Accusations and Publicity: Celebrities like John Cusack have publicly denounced Musk, accusing him of severe misconduct. At 07:14, Ferguson cites Cusack’s inflammatory remarks:
“Elon Musk is, quote, literally killing people. ... He's literally killing people.”
Incidents of Violence: Following these accusations, there has been a surge in violent attacks against Tesla vehicles and properties. Reports include arson and shootings targeting Tesla and its Cybertrucks in various locations, such as Kansas City and Seattle (09:22).
Media Involvement: Even mainstream media outlets like The Daily Show are portrayed as fueling the anti-Musk sentiment, encouraging hostility towards Tesla owners and dealerships.
Government Response: Attorney General Pam Bondi has responded by condemning these acts as domestic terrorism, promising legal actions against perpetrators to protect Tesla and its stakeholders (10:21).
Analysis: Ferguson suggests that these coordinated attacks are a form of political and economic warfare intended to destabilize Musk’s ventures, which he credits with significant contributions to the American economy by combating waste and fraud.
The final story addresses a disturbing trend of swatting attacks targeting conservative figures, raising alarms about domestic terrorism and violent extremism.
Key Highlights:
Definition and Mechanics: Swatting involves maliciously triggering a police response, typically by reporting false emergencies, to provoke SWAT teams into attacking the target’s location (10:22).
Recent Spike: Over the past week, more than 15 conservative commentators and journalists have been victims of swatting, with incidents occurring almost nightly since March 11 (10:22).
Victim Accounts: One Infowars reporter detailed being forcibly removed from his home at gunpoint based on a fabricated threat, exposing the personal dangers faced by targeted individuals.
Government Response:
Federal Crackdown: FBI Director Cash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem have publicly condemned these acts, labeling them as domestic terrorism and emphasizing efforts to apprehend the culprits.
Legislative Concerns: Representative Andy Ogles has highlighted the severity of these attacks, urging for stronger measures to protect conservative voices from such coordinated harassment.
Implications: Ferguson warns that the rise in swatting is symptomatic of a deeper societal rift, where political polarization escalates into violent actions. He calls for immediate governmental intervention to curb these threats and ensure the safety of those targeted.
