Tucker Carlson
You see the Tucker Carlson and Senator Ted Cruz interview. It seems like this issue on whether or not the United States should strike is kind of dividing a lot of your supporters.
Donald Trump
No, my supporters are for me. My supporters are America first. They make America great again. My supporters don't want to see Iran have a nuclear weapon. Tucker's a nice gu. He called and apologized the other day. Ted Cruz is a nice guy. I mean, he's been with me for a long time. Very simple. If they think that it's okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, then they should oppose me. But nobody thinks it's okay.

Good Friday morning, it's the 47 Morning Update. Nice to have you with us. And we've got two big stories for you this morning. First up, Donald Trump giving diplomacy more time when it comes to Iran as there's major meetings in Geneva directly with European countries and Iran. Also, the former leadership of Iran's son telling the people in Iran it is time for you to rise up and topple the current regime. Is there a real chance that Iran's leadership could collapse? We'll explain that for you as well. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. Story number one, major news coming out of the White House, and that is that Donald Trump is now saying that he may take up to two weeks decide whether he is going to hit the main site of Iran's nuclear program. Now, what does this mean? Well, multiple different things. Number one, it's shifting towards diplomacy. According to the Washington Post, has temporarily stepped back from immediate military action, allowing up to two weeks to explore a new opportunity for diplomacy ahead of the planned talks in Geneva with European foreign ministers and Iran's foreign minister. That is happening, by the way, today. One of the reasons why the president said, okay, I can maybe wait another 24, 48 hours, see if you guys can talk some sense into Iran's leadership. Now, these European led negotiations could be significant. The Financial Times right now reporting that European powers including the UK France and Germany will meet with the Iranian officials in Geneva. This is the first, quote, formal diplomatic engagement since Israel's strike. And Trump is giving diplomacy this window before deciding. Now there are some that are criticizing Donald Trump in the media and on the left said, oh, he's lying. He's, you know, he was telling the people of Iran that they must leave now and now he's backing down. He's being a wuss. No, he's being a responsible president that is allowing for negotiations while also having pressure on them to hurry up and get a deal done. You have to remember that Donald Trump gave them 60 days, referring to Iran to get a deal done and they didn't. And what happened on day 61? Their site started to be attacked. Now the Wall Street Journal is also noting that Trump's two week deadline is a strategic delay aiming to compel Iran towards negotiations or collapse under mounting global pressure. Now this time frame also shifts immediate responsibility to Israel. That is something that Israel is more than happy to have because it's clear that their work and hitting certain targets they believe not done yet. And this also reflects Donald Trump's campaign promise to avoid U.S. war commitments. Now, the White House signals are also very clear. At this hour, the AP is confirming the White House via the press secretary Caroline Levitt, framing this two week period as driven by, quote, a substantial chance of negotiations. In Geneva, Trump emphasized he's always interested in a diplomatic solution while maintaining military strength as a backup. Now why is this a positive development is the question that many of you may be asking. Well, it's diplomacy over force. That is something Donald Trump's been in favor of the entire time he's been in office. And the pause marks a move away from immediate military escalation, something we were expecting, honestly over the last 24, 48 hours. And it signals Trump's openness to diplomatic engagement, especially through the European mediation where America is going to be waiting by the phone but not actually involved in it. We also know there's no immediate U. S. Strike, at least at this moment. Military options, we have been told, have been laid out and are on the table. But there's no authorization for immediate action from Donald Trump. That is a break from prior posturing and also media reports. And then there's the global coordination. President Trump working with our allies in Europe. This move is synchronizing U. S Policy with active European diplomatic efforts directly with Iran's leadership. And it's reinforcing a more unified and multilateral approach. Again, it's clear that Donald Trump wants to avoid war. The bottom line is this. Donald Trump's announcement of a two week decision window reflects a major pivot. It's a pivot from what we thought was going to be an immediate strike to diplomacy, providing breathing room for these ongoing talks in Geneva. It also demonstrates a strategic recalibration by the Trump team from brinksmanship to negotiations. And without that brinksmanship and without that threat of a real attack in the next 12 or 24 hours from Donald Trump, it is bringing Iran to the table quickly. And it also aligns the US with international efforts to de escalate the tensions over the issue. And it allows for breathing room for Israel to continue to do what they need to do to protect their country. So if you take a step back and you look at what's happened over the last 24 hours, this is good news for America and our interests. I think at the end of the day, many Americans don't want to be involved in an attack on Iran. But there's also overwhelming support in new polling for making sure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. And the only person that can stop Iran from getting that nuclear weapon is clearly the United States of America with our bunker busting bombs. Now, there's also one other person that can admit defeat and stop all of this insanity. That is Iran. And that's the hope in these meetings, is that diplomacy will seem very real to them and also a real option to get off this path to, well, chaos and destruction.
Now, story number two.
The exiled crown prince is now saying the Islamic Republic is collapsing as we speak in Iran. The exile crown prince of Iran and son of the last Persian shah urged Iranians on Tuesday to prepare for the impeding fall of the supreme leader. And the Islamic Republic as the country struggles to fight off attacks from Israel. Saying this, the Islamic Republic has reached in and is in the process of collapsing. The supreme leader is like a frightened rat. He has gone into hiding underground and has lost control of the situation. What has begun is irreversible. The future is bright and together we will pass through this sharp turn in history. Now, the Military conflict between Iran and Israel stretched into its sixth day with little signs of slowing down as Israel is continuing to hammer Tehran's nuclear pursuits. Now, the former Shah of Iran, son, and he knows a lot about when your time's up. They ruled Iran from 1925 to 1979. That's when it was overthrown in the Islamic revolution. That is when the Iran Hostage crisis also happened, when they took American hostages at our embassy. And he went on to social media in English and Farsi and directed the messages to his fellow countrymen and encouraged a full out uprising, saying, this now is the time to rise, the time to reclaim Iran. Let us all come forward and bring about the end of this regime. He also advised that there is a plan to establish a democratic government in Iran within 100 days of the collapse of the Islamic Republic. He also urged military, law enforcement, security forces and state employees to join the effort to topple the government under the leadership that is currently there in Iran, saying this, do not stand against the Iranian people for the sake of a regime whose fall has begun and is inevitable. Do not sacrifice yourselves for a decaying regime. By standing with the people, you can save your lives, play a historic role in the transformation of the Islamic Republic and take part in building the future of Iran. Now you hear this and is it real? There's a chance that all of it could come tumbling down around the leadership in Iran. Yes. Why? Because we know that the leader of Iran is in hiding. We also know that millions of people in Iran fled Tehran when Donald Trump said, you need to leave. Now, another example of just how fragile the current regime may be. And finally, a lot of the people that were afraid of the regime and may realize they're not as powerful as they thought, especially knowing the air superiority was toppled in a matter of hours by Israel. And Israel can do basically whatever they want to do from the skies right now. So, yes, there's a lot of reasons to give diplomacy and other things like this a few more days before the President makes a decision. And that clearly is good for all Americans and also the Middle East.
