You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Good Saturday morning to you. Ben Ferguson with you. And these are some of the stories you may have missed that we talked about this week on the 47 Morning Update. First up, the media goes all in on two big conspiracies against Donald Trump. One, that he wore a blue suit to the Vatican, breaking protocol even though Joe Biden wore the same color suit. And they're also saying that there could be some mystery illness for the president since he's lost weight and gotten in better shape. Up next, a shocking speech from the floor of the Senate by Chuck Schumer, which basically could have been written by the Chinese Communist Party on tariffs. I'll have that for you in just a second. And finally, Elon Musk and his Doge team have been hard at work day after day after day. And now the staff is revealing that the Institute of Peace was not peaceful at all, in fact giving six figure contracts to former members of the Taliban. That story as well. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. If you are watching reaching the media, they told you two massive lies about Donald Trump in the last 48 hours. One of them involved the Vatican asking Pope Francis funeral attendees to wear all black. And the hit on the president was he wore a blue suit. They then posted a picture showing Donald Trump in the blue suit only with people around him wearing black, implying that he was the only one to wear a blue suit. Well, if you look at the actual picture of the larger group of individuals at the funeral, it is Very clear that there were quite a few men wearing blue suits, including Joe Biden. But that didn't stop CNN from telling the big lie, implying that Donald Trump did something terrible by wearing a blue suit. But that wasn't the only lie they were talking about as well. There was another one that there's some big conspiracy over Donald Trump getting in better shape. Yes, Donald Trump has lost weight. In fact, they released this information from the White House saying he was in better shape than he was a year ago. But leave it to CNN to imply that there's some deep, dark secret to Trump's weight loss or some massive cover up. And that's why you don't know what's really going on. They combine the two stories into one. This is real. And it actually played on cnn.
Commentator
I was so fascinated by the whole sort of playing out of the. The Pope's funeral, I guess. Right. As opposed to memorial. Donald Trump in a blue suit when we know he has a black suit because he was wearing a black suit the last time he met the Pope. So why wasn't he wearing it this time? Lots of suspicion because he's lost a lot of weight. Who knows how he's lost weight? We know that Robert Kennedy Jr. His health minister, doesn't approve of people taking Ozempic because he thinks it shows a lack of moral power. So who knows how Trump has lost weight. But I found the suit color very interesting. And for someone like me, who is a boss, is a huge believer in getting people together as opposed to doing things remotely. I think you see the power of bringing world leaders together to have impromptu meetings. Whether or not Macron refused his handshake in the initial meeting. During the piece, they actually shook hands, which felt like a step forward.
Ben Ferguson
Isn't it amazing just how much the media will lie to try to hurt President Donald Trump? And when they do lie, we will make sure that you hear it, and that's exactly why we do this show and make sure that you share it so other people know that this is nothing more than a hit job on the President of the United States of America, trying to act like he did some horrible thing by wearing the same color suit as Joe Biden. Or the fact that somehow something nefarious is going on with his health because he's actually gotten healthier and lost weight.
Now, story number two.
It was a speech from the floor of the Senate by the Senate leadership of the Democratic Party, Chuck Schumer. And it was a speech that very well could have been written by the Chinese Communist Party. If you want to know just how much they hate American workers and they hate the idea of America standing firm or standing up to China, well, just listen to Chuck Schumer's own words. And I'm not kidding when I say this. You got to wonder, did the speech come directly from the ccp?
One thing is clear. Donald Trump's tariffs have been a total failure. Instead of isolating China, Donald Trump's tariffs are isolating us. Instead of spurring a manufacturing, American manufacturing, Trump's tariffs are raising costs and driving us into recession. There's no strategy with Trump's tariffs, only chaos. One day Donald Trump says yes to tariffs, the next day no to tariffs. One day tariffs on this country, the next day tariffs on that country. Even Donald Trump's own policy advisers are struggling to explain his flip flopping. The only thing Donald Trump's tariffs have succeeded in is raising the odds of recession and sending markets into its tailspin.
If you want to file that speech under Chinese propaganda, it'd be a perfect place to put it. And there was also many things that were just flat out lies. For example, he said it was destroying manufacturing. These tariffs in America. Well, that's actually not true. Many U. S. Manufacturers are now reporting major benefits from the tariffs. Whirlpool, for instance, has indicated that the new trade policies helped level the playing field by reducing foreign competitors cost advantages and bolstering domestic production. Nucor, a leading steel producer, also saying now they have strong demand and increased order backlogs, attributing this to reduced reliance on imported steel. The tariffs have prompted companies to consider reshoring production, including Apple for example, is expected to exceed earnings projections partly due to increased consumer demand ahead of potential tariffs and and its effort to ship production from China to India and other countries. Yes, the president is making progress on tariff negotiations. As the administration says, be patient. Many countries have lined up to talk with the White House and are currently in negotiations. Why? The White House statement said it very clearly. Tariffs are aiming to rebuild the economy, restore national and economic security and make sure that American workers have great paying manufacturing jobs. Yes, all of this indicates that there are major outcomes that could come in the days and weeks ahead that will be good for America. So why did the man in charge of the Democratic party put a propaganda speech out there from the floor of the Senate? Well, you got to look at maybe just how close the Democratic Party really is to to the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing.
And lastly, story number three.
There is one story that maybe hasn't been getting that many headlines lately. And that is the fact that Doge is still fighting waste, fraud, and abuse. It's certainly a story that the media doesn't want you to know about. And that's exactly why Elon Musk brought many of his staffers together to tell what they are now finding. They did this with Jesse Waters on Fox News Channel. Now, the Doge staffers revealed something shocking. That the Institute of Peace is not actually that peaceful. In fact, some of their money was going to members of the Taliban. Take a listen to this.
Doge Team Member
Yeah. So it was the by far the least peaceful agency that we've worked with, ironically, of course. Additionally, we found that they were spending money on things like private jets, and they even had a $130,000 contract with a former member of the Taliban. This is real. We don't encounter that in most agencies. Yeah.
What was the money going to the Taliban for?
So it was a contractor. They received $130,000 for generic services. And to Elon's point, there was not actually a clear description of what the contractor services were for.
Was it for opium?
Unclear.
Or weapons?
Or nothing. Or nothing.
Ben Ferguson
Or abroad or.
Doge Team Member
Yeah, nothing. And you naturally have to ask the question, how did we get here? Like, when the country was founded, There were only four agencies. Today, there are over 400. So there's been a 100x increase in the number of agencies since the founding of the nation. And thanks to President Trump, he's now signed two executive orders to start to reduce the number of agencies in the government. And the Institute of Peace was one of them, which is why our team went in to try and understand what was going on. And that's when we found all of the craziness. Like the weapons in their armory. We found the payments to the Taliban.
Dutch Vet Service
Try to hide the evidence.
Doge Team Member
Right. So just a few hours after we got into their headquarters, we found that their chief accountant had actually deleted over a terabyte of accounting records from several years. So you'd have to ask the question, well, why would somebody do that? The Doge team, fortunately, was able to recover that data with the help of a few great employees at the Institute of Peace. And I think the most troubling thing was they received $55 million a year from Congress, and any money that went unspent, instead of returning that to Congress, they would sweep it into a private bank account which had no congressional oversight, and that's what they would use to fund things like events at their headquarters and the private jets. And so I think it's a great example because most. Most Americans don't know what's going on at a lot of these smaller agencies. And this is, I think the most extreme case of some of the wasteful spend that we're finding.
So the agencies are hiding money from you. They're sending it to the Taliban. They have loaded weapons in the department buildings.
At the Institute of Peace.
At the Institute of Peace.
Yeah, that's right.
So this is a cover up when you guys roll in this one.
Ben Ferguson
Yes, a cover up to cover. They did delete a vast amount of financial information. That's really a definition of a cover up.
Doge Team Member
Isn't that illegal to delete evidence?
Ben Ferguson
Yes.
Doge Team Member
Shred documents?
It is. It's certainly illegal to delete accounting records that they would. That Congress would certainly want to know where the congressionally appropriated funds are going.
From from taxpayers when you catch them going Hillary style on their computers. Do you refer this to the Department.
Of Justice in this case? We did refer the evidence in the accounting example to the FBI and doj. We were proud to do that. So yes, we did.
Ben Ferguson
Not only do they say it was a cover up, but it may have actually been criminal. And that is exactly why they have references to the Department of Justice. So if you think that Doge isn't still digging, don't worry, they are. In fact, the Doge team also says there was a 4 billion dollar Covid fund in the Department of Education that had no receipts required so government employees could draw down on it and use the money for parties and to rent out venues like Caesar's Palace. Another example of why so many are fighting against Donald Trump in the deep state and doing everything they can to get rid of their receipts. And thank goodness Elon Musk and Doge keeps finding them.

Podcast Summary: The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson
Episode: "Trump's Weight Loss & Media Deception plus Tariff Triumphs the Real Impact"
Release Date: May 3, 2025
In this episode of The 47 Morning Update, host Ben Ferguson delves into three pivotal stories shaping the current political landscape. From media narratives surrounding former President Donald Trump to the implications of tariff policies and revelations of corruption within government agencies, Ferguson provides incisive commentary and exclusive insights aimed at keeping listeners informed and ahead of mainstream media narratives.
Overview:
Ben Ferguson begins by addressing recent media coverage that he claims targets Donald Trump through fabricated conspiracies. Two primary allegations are scrutinized: Trump's choice of attire at a Vatican event and speculations about his recent weight loss.
Key Points:
Suit Color Controversy:
The media criticized Trump for allegedly violating protocol by wearing a blue suit to Pope Francis's funeral, contrasting it with Joe Biden's similar attire. Ferguson counters this by presenting evidence that several attendees, including Biden, donned blue suits, refuting the notion that Trump stood alone in his choice.
Weight Loss Speculations:
Following reports of Trump's improved physical health, some media outlets insinuated undisclosed reasons behind his weight loss. Ferguson highlights that official sources from the White House confirmed Trump's better health, dismissing theories of hidden agendas or cover-ups.
Notable Quotes:
Ben Ferguson (00:58):
"If you look at the actual picture of the larger group of individuals at the funeral, it is very clear that there were quite a few men wearing blue suits, including Joe Biden."
Commentator (03:29):

Key Points:
Speech Analysis:
Ferguson argues that Schumer's rhetoric exhibits disdain for American workers and undermines the idea of the U.S. standing firm against China, drawing parallels to CCP messaging.
Trump’s Tariff Policy:
Contrary to Democratic claims, Ferguson defends President Trump's tariff strategies. He contends that the tariffs are fostered to rebuild the American economy, restore national security, and secure well-paying manufacturing jobs. He cites positive feedback from manufacturers like Whirlpool and Nucor, who report benefits from reduced foreign competition and increased domestic production.
Economic Impact:
While acknowledging market volatility, Ferguson maintains that the tariffs are strategically advantageous, promoting reshoring and enhancing the competitiveness of American industries.
Notable Quotes:
Ben Ferguson (04:58):
"One thing is clear. Donald Trump's tariffs have been a total failure. Instead of isolating China, Donald Trump's tariffs are isolating us."

Ben Ferguson (08:06):
"Why did the man in charge of the Democratic party put a propaganda speech out there from the floor of the Senate?"
Overview:
The episode shifts focus to startling revelations uncovered by Elon Musk’s Doge team regarding the Institute of Peace. According to Ferguson, this government agency has engaged in illicit activities, including lucrative contracts with former Taliban members.
Key Points:
Doge Team's Findings:
Doge staffers disclosed that the Institute of Peace has been misusing funds, allocating a $130,000 contract to a former Taliban member without clear service descriptions. Additional concerns include expenses on private jets and unauthorized armaments.
Data Deletion and Cover-Up:
Investigators discovered that the agency’s chief accountant deleted over a terabyte of accounting records, an act Ferguson describes as a blatant cover-up. With assistance from cooperative employees, the Doge team recovered vital data, revealing unaccounted expenditures and questionable financial practices.
Government Oversight:
The Institute of Peace reportedly managed a $55 million annual budget from Congress. Ferguson criticizes the lack of congressional oversight, noting that unspent funds were diverted into private accounts for personal and non-transparent uses.
Broader Implications:
This case exemplifies the systemic waste and corruption proliferating within numerous small government agencies, highlighting the urgent need for reform and accountability, a cause supported by President Trump's executive orders aimed at reducing governmental bloating.
Notable Quotes:
Doge Team Member (08:42):
"They received $55 million a year from Congress, and any money that went unspent, instead of returning that to Congress, they would sweep it into a private bank account which had no congressional oversight."
