Today’s bonus episode is my sit-down conversation with Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), Chair of the newly upgrade J6 Select Committee investigating the failures of security for January 6, 2021 as well as the politicization of the original J6 Select Committee.

Now that we are a little more than two and a half weeks into Donald Trump’s presidency, I wanted to spend some time getting caught back up with the Congressman and what direction they will take under the new administration? We discuss how the jurisdictional lines for his committee are still being established, given how many areas are involved in the events of January 6.

We also discuss the pace of the new administration and whether Congress is prepared to not only keep up with it, but also codify Executive Orders into law to prevent this constant turmoil of how easily EO’s can be overturned. Additionally, we discuss the DOGE team, the USAID fraud already discovered, and why are many long-time members of the House of Representatives shocked over their findings? Shouldn’t the House have know what they were passing in the budgets?

This leads to a pointed discussion over getting back to the 12 appropriations bills, discussing the items line by line, and re-establishing authorizations for when the agencies in the Executive Branch want to allocate money within their budgets.

We close with me asking if the House is willing to change how they have been doing thing for the last few decades, with a warning that the American people are not going to be happy with the status quo. The Congressman agreed and said the appetite is there and hopefully they will be able to drag life-long staffers into getting back to following the Constitution.
