Yeah, sure. Skilled. Yeah, they had skills for sure. I would say, you know, not. Not anything close to the skills that we have. But at the same time, you do have to respect their resolve and they are willing to die and take whoever else with them for their beliefs. So I do give them that. As respect, as skewed as their beliefs are.

Yeah. I don't. I don't really respect them a whole lot as fighters. The one thing I did respect was the amount of IEDs they can get a hold of in a short amount of time is impressive.

And they did get a little creative on the IED side. But I mean, that's. And let's be honest, I understand why. Because. But that's really. It's a cowards way of fighting.

Because they would not and never will you know, stand toe to toe with us. So. No, but I don't really respect them in that aspect.

No, I. Like I said, it's just the. The willing. Willingness to kill themselves for what they believe in. And I. You know, and I don't agree with what they believe in, but I do respect the fact that they have that belief.

Yeah. And I respect the fact they're willing to die for. I appreciate it.

Yeah. I had the same respect for what we did. Willing to die for what we were doing. So you gotta. You gotta. You gotta give them that respect in return.

But I guess we were willing to live more than. Yeah, we were willing to die.

We found ways around not dying, but we also knew that was a consequence.

You know, they're freedom fighters to themselves. So I understand that. So we're kind of cut from the same cloth, kind of like that's. It's so small. It's not really how I saw him. I really saw them as two legged dogs that need to be put down pretty much.

I think if I was born over there, like he's asking, and would I have done the same thing? I would hope at some point during my childhood over there that I would learn the difference between good and evil at some point. Because then I wouldn't join because of what they did. Is evil.

Now, Romans 1 says that every single human being on the planet is without excuse because through the creation, they can know there's something bigger than everything else around here. But as Romans 1 unfolds, it says, but instead of humans making the right decision about God, they worship the creation rather than the creator and they exchange the truth of God for a lie. I was very happy with. With where I ended up. They. They were the best. They were the best squadron.

David says, did you see the Tucker Carlson interview with Ted Cruz? And if you did, how gay is Teed Cruz on a scale of 1 to 10?

I heard about the kerfuffle, but I didn't end up seeing it. Did anyone? The sound bite was good.

And then, yeah, he asked him the population of Iran, and he couldn't answer it. Ted Cruz had no idea what it was.

You know, here's her, either. I don't think many people can answer those questions that Tucker was asking, like facts. But at the same time, I unders. I, like, appreciated Tucker's point. It's like, buddy, you're sitting here trying to. Wanting to topple another nation, and then what? No, nothing about what's after that. Yeah, we've seen this movie before.

No. So I'll. I'll give a. I'll give a rebuttal. That of sorts, you're right. We have seen that before, but I don't know, let's try something new. Let's not try to rebuild them. Let's just kick their ass and leave. Okay. Parking lot. And I think it's a little bit different than the Saddam thing, but I'm honestly not a whole lot different. What are we gonna get a worse Iran? Like, Iran is already the at. On the axis of evil, so we could try doing something crazy like kicking their ass and said, hey, it's on you guys to build back better, to steal someone else's slogan. It's on you guys to build back better. And if we have to come back here, you've seen how easily we could kick your ass before we've taken out most of your army and equipment. So you're not going to do any better the second time. So you guys fix yourself. Stop. Stop looking over at Little Israel and being like, we're going to wipe you off the map over and over and over again. Because apparently they now took it serious and we did, too, and good luck. I mean, how long do you let something be an axis of evil?

This is true. I mean, but then, then you could further along that.

What's happening is wrong. And fought for us. He went and testified for me. Did. I mean, we. We were family after that, so. And he was, man, he was a. He was a hell of a guy. It was a sad thing that happened last year.

Your days as one so Corman days? Yeah, back when I was with One8 dude, that was. I look back now after retiring. That was probably one of the highlights of my career. And like, what really shaped informed me throughout the rest of my career when I became a SEAL is just being with the Marines. Just their culture and everything. I thrived in it and I loved the job. Taking care of Marines. If you took care of them, they took care of you. And, you know, like I said, that's pretty much what formed me in the military. And then I went on from there. But yeah, and then dive med. I don't know what that entail. Like what. What they're asking there. Dive medicine? No, not until I went to buds. There I learned all the dive medicine.

What do you remember most about your days?

Is one that the studying for? It sucked. Yeah, that's. That's pretty much. I mean, I didn't really do much dive medicine. Honestly, that was a qual. I got as one a medic, but never had to do. I never did any, like, medical watch when we were doing dives. I was always the one diving, so. All right.

Yeah, both equally. Like I said, man, the Marines is what formed me, but my whole dream, the whole time was to be a seal. So, I mean, and I. The guys I worked with on both ends were just phenomenal. I mean, the, the similarities between the teams and the Marines, there's a lot. And the one thing is, like, the camaraderie and being loyal to each other.

All right, Chris Estrada says question for the guys. Lately, I hear the term operator get thrown around a lot. Are you an operator when you make it to any soft unit, or is it when you complete otc? Where does the term operate operator originate from?

[Brent]

The term operator? So I'm. I actually got corrected on this. I assumed incorrectly that because of OTC and the. I had never really heard the. And I'd read the books. Operator, really all in common use was only referred to since the 70s and 80s and, and beyond as tier one operators. But I was shown a piece of. We'll call it like old Special Forces literature that said it was talking about the various, like, the attributes that a Green Beret should have. And it says on there the Special Forces operator. And that's what they kept on referring to the person as. And like, yeah, they. They used to use that term a lot back in the, in the 50s and even 60s, it kind of fell off and then became known again, you know, after Delta. So with a little bit of Green Beret history right there, as far as I know that I've seen the Green Berets and their literature had Special Forces operator and had used that term. But I still feel that the term operator really is reserved for. For Tier one operators. Just. Just how I feel.

[Eddie Gallagher]

Yeah, I have no, like, I mean, when I, When I got in, I heard it like, you know, like, hey, like, that dude's a good operator. Or are you. Are you an operator? Or this. But that changed. You, like, are you an assaulter or are you. What are you?

[Brent]

I just knew at the beginning of my career, at the beginning of it, no one, at least as a Green Beret, would ever call themselves an operator. No, because. And you'd get. If you did, you'd get. You'd get your dick smacked really quick and be like, no, you don't use that term. That's, that's, that's for the Delta Force guys.

[Eddie Gallagher]

Yeah.

[Brent]

I think you used to safeguard it then it went from. Everyone is psyops, civil affairs. They're. They've. I've heard the term like civil affairs operator.

[Eddie Gallagher]

Yeah.

SWAT operators. That's. That's where I was going like that. Well, it's just they can't wait to make the team to call themselves operators on swat. I'm an operator.

And well before that that whether it be Seal Team 6 assaulter or adults force assaulter, those were the only guys that were referred to as operators because words have, words have meanings. And so if we're gonna just use that term generally now, then I don't know, those guys need to go find another word.

Yeah, that, that, that refers to, to someone of, of their, of their background.

Sure. So that's the non profit that me and my wife started after going through our whole mess. What we do is we support the active duty service members, law enforcement or first responders. If they are being unjustly accused or targeted for doing what they were trained to do, which is their job, we step in we provide emergency relief aid to their families as they're going through that time. We also raise money for their legal. Legal bills, and we advocate for them as well if needed. We use all the avenues that my wife and brother used to get me free, and we still have those connections, and we have a lot of good advisors on our board, you know, so we start a whole campaign for you, if that's what you want. And I will say we're. We're 100 since we started, which is huge.

Like we're gonna wipe Israel off the map. Not only did they not wipe Israel off the map, they got their asses kicked. And they all lost land from it too. So they basically put in all the information of all these different targets, both people and places and basically said, hey, you tell me AI, who's the most dangerous and who should, who should we rack in sacking or. And who should we take out? And AI was like, like this, this guy will be the most dangerous to you in this amount of time. The more you look into it just, it's just a tip of the hat. Like you can't militarily, you can't hate on them for that. So they believe that they took out, they, they, there, there's several targets that they, they struck their, their uranium enrichment facilities on top of scientists, on top of generals and weapons caches because they wanted to go ahead and take those out because they knew things were going to come back. So here's the game of sorts that they're playing. They have three different air defense systems. Iron Dome is one of them. Camera the third one. But the second one is, is their interceptors and their interceptors is really what's taking out all of the missiles inbound to them.

[Drew]

So what, what landed was not what could have been.

[Brent]

They've, they've had I believe 400 rockets, long range rockets come over and it's intercepted 90% of them. So about 40 of hit. Now here's what's also kind of cool when looking at this. Of the 40 that hit, I think three of them were ones that they tried to take out. That, that didn't, some of them they didn't even send missiles to because they're, you know, the algorithms on their air defense systems basically says, hey, this is where it's coming from. This is where it's at, this is where it's going. And they're like, that's gonna land either nowhere. Nowhere or nowhere serious. And they just let them go.

Yeah, it's like an Iraqi Scud.

[Brent]

Yeah. And just don't, don't waste, and don't waste their missile for it. But they know they can't waste their missiles because they only have a certain supply of it. And they're kind of playing a game of if Iran can launch more missiles than Israel eventually runs out of interceptors. They're defenseless.

Yeah.

[Brent]

And that's, that's a, that's a dangerous game.

We step in, I think we would.

[Brent]

I, I don't know for sure at that point. I, this is just Brent's opinion. They're, they know that too, obviously. If I know that they know that they're tracking that and at some point they'll, they'll. But hey, Iran is also running low on missiles and we know that because they had a huge barrage of missiles and it's been going lower and lower and lower every time. If they had the missile capacity they, that they, that you know, that they wanted, they'd just keep sending the same barrage until they ran out. So it really is a game of, of who has the most missiles playing chess. Yeah. Yeah, it's. So anyway, that's, that's a lot of the things that I found out. I think it's, I think it's super interesting.

Answer that. I think they have a calculator of sorts of when, if they run low enough, they will reach out to the United States for support. And I believe the US Will step in and I think they'll step in under, under this guise to say, hey, there are, there are non government like peacetime operations going on for Palestine and we have to secure this to make sure that, that those continue. And I think they'll use a lot of the, the medical and the feeding operations that's going on for Palestine as kind of a cover to help Israel. To me, that would be the perfect excuse, honestly, to go in there and help them and not look like the bad guys.

Yeah, we'll probably supply them more interceptor missiles before we get physically involved. Right.

[Brent]

I, if we don't have the, I don't, if we don't have their air defense systems and, and if they're. I'm. Oh, well, I was gonna say the military industrial complex is, is making cream.

In their pants right now.

Yeah, they're making those, they're making those, they're making those missiles nonstop as we speak, waiting for the order.

So they'll, they'll get them. I don't know. What, what, what do you think? Do you think at what level will we, and, and here's, here's always a question and I do, I love asking guys that have been a part of several wars and now you're, now you're older and wiser because of it. Should we.

I think that. Well, this is just my opinion only, you know, from what I've seen. I mean, I think we will continue to support Israel. I think we'll be, we're supporting them right now. Right. But we're just not getting involved. And I do think if they need help in that capacity, as far as getting them more interceptors or whatever. Yeah, we'll do it. But I don't think that we are going to put troops on the ground or put our military members in harm's way. And I, I, I, I hope we don't not, it's just, it's not our fight, man. Like, we can pick a side and we can be like, hey, and I understand why we pick Israel side. I support it.

I'm like, dude, Iran's been back and like we talked about earlier, all the terrorist organizations that we have been fighting the past 20 years.

So yeah, them, they've killed a lot of Americans.

Yes. So at the end of the day, I'm like, they're, Iran's in the find out phase right now. And you know, I'm, I'm on board with it. I just, I am not on board with sending troops over there. Yeah, it's, I don't think it's needed.

This is what I would like to know. I don't know if we ever will know it. So obviously they've, they've had this plan in place for a long time. And you know, there are talks, there's been I think five or six talks already with America and Iran about their nuclear program. But that's what Iran always does. It's what, it's what Saddam did. And honestly. And if Saddam wouldn't have, wouldn't have messed around, he wouldn't have found out either. Like, they, they play this chess game of delaying. Oh yeah, we'll talk and then we'll keep talking about it and then we'll keep talking about it and then they don't ever let inspectors that they never, they just, it's just a, it's just a delay game.

And they were going to have another round of talks when, when Israel decided to launch this. Israel knew there is clearly in any military operation there's a red line, you know, and Iran must have crossed that red line. They must have done something. And Israel's like, they crossed it. It's, we, we have to go. Rarely is it ever. And in situations like this, rarely ever it is like, well, we'll just go and we feel like it now. Like they, they, they knew they got to a certain point and like, well, but they've gone too far. So. And I, that's what I would be interested. What is it that Israel knew that they were capable of doing that were like, we're gonna send it now.

No one saw, provoked it. Yeah. What provoked it. No one saw that coming. But, but if they're willing to, to do such an audacious. I mean, that's so in your face, direct attack. Like they thought, they thought. They clearly thought it was something serious enough to, to send that. That's what I want to know.

I'm sure we'll find it out eventually.

They don't really have, I don't think they have the emotional dog in this fight like they had in Vietnam.

I mean, I think that, I mean, the Chinese do what the Chinese do. They play, they play everything smartly. What's that base that they took out after we lost, we gave Iraq or whatever back or Afghanistan? What was that air base that they.

And they have, they. They're playing a long game in Africa as well when it comes to minerals.

Wood, look it down in Mexico. I went and did Ed Calderon's podcast last year, the year before, and we were talking about, you know, the open border. And I was asking him how. I was like, hey, how do, like, people here in Mexico feel about the open border? And he was like, they, they don't like, like they don't like it. He's like, you know, it's causing all sorts of problems here. But he was saying on the cartels, I was like, well, the cartels are running things. He's like, and the cartels aren't running. Running things anymore either. China runs the cartels. He's like, they, they run a large majority of them. They're the ones bringing in everything. As soon as, When Trump's first term, when he brought out, like, took away the business from Mexico, guess who came swooping in? Oh, yeah, China did. Brought it all up and was like, boom, we're running now.

Yeah. I asked you if I thought, you know, Iran would, would escalate or could the, the other tail. The other side of that coin is, do you think Israel is, is done doing what they did? Do you think that's. That was, that was all they were going to do and they're just going to squat and hold? Or do you think they have a round two? That if this continues, that, that they're gonna be like, all right, enough's enough. You wanna, you, you want, you want to keep throwing jobs? We got another right hook.

I mean, just going off of what Israel's been doing this past year, I think they'll continue to. They're literally in the we're tired of it phase and we're done. Like, it's. And I, I'm. I applaud them for it. I'm like, dude, that's. This is how you actually win a war, is by not giving up, by being on the offensive, by being aggressive, and by not giving a. What any other country is thinking of what you're doing. Like, you shouldn't have a. Attack them in the first place, and now you're reaping the consequences.

And if you think about it, historically, they really. I don't think they could have done something like this because the buffer between them and Iran is Iraq. Yeah. And even though Iraq and Iran hate each other, they've went to war with each other. They both Hated Israel, but now who's essentially running Iraq? We are like that. Iraq is, it's, it's, it's very much a, I won't go as far and say a puppet government. It should be, but, but Iraq is very US friendly and we're still heavily supporting them and getting them on their feet. So not only did we remove a dictator from, gave it back to the people, which we did. I don't care if you like that or not, you know, but Iraq, ironically enough, really has kind of turned into a success story. Even though they almost lost their country against isis. And then we had to step in again.

It has been rocky, but there no Afghanistan. You know, I mean at the end of the day, they, they, they are, I would say, slowly standing on their own two feet. But all that to be said, they're, they're in no position to, to, to throw their weight behind, behind anything.

When I'm breaking anything on that and if, if your thing is afterwards and I do not hate Jocko for, for being successful by any means but if you're, if your shtick is like leadership and extreme, extreme accountability and you have this guy underneath you that's doing things that, that, that he shouldn't have been doing. Like you can't be both. Like you either know what's going on underneath your nose and you're a good leader or you're not. And the other thing he brings up and this again it's fact. And I actually don't hate. I'm not throwing shade on Jocko on this because if things happen. But the Whole thing about, like, him shooting the. Like, his. His. His one kill in country is when. And he's a commander, he shouldn't have a lot of kills, but apparently, like, he. He shot the. The source when. When they landed and he came up and shoots him. I gotta. I'm. I'm gonna look that up.

But that's the thing. Like, that's. Apparently that happened, but, like, there's no extreme accountability on that. You can't just tell, like, all the great things you did.

Be like, yeah, and extreme accountability is my thing. Like, well, like, you want to talk about that?

I understand where you're coming from, man. Like, and I. I agree with what you're saying, but I think any. Anybody that comes out and preaches about being a leader and is like, you know, and you can get out of the military and give whatever leadership advice from your experience, but you should never sell yourself as the best leader or the ultimate leader. It's like, there's just always holes in everybody's leadership. So, yeah, if you want to be a good leader, then you be transparent and be like, here is where I up. And this is why I'm saying these things. So, I mean, I don't really.

That's exactly what it is. Accusations that Jocko basically killed a source. You know, and. And it was. I guess it was. Yeah, they went out to meet him in the middle of the night, and, you know, Jocko sees a guy coming up in the darkness with. With an AK and then shoots them. And they're like, that was the source.

That's the first I've heard about that.

[Brent]

We'd have to. Gosh, that'll get. That'll get snipped 17 different ways. I'm sure there's more to that story. I'm. I'm taking all the fluff out. Like, that's. That's the meat and potatoes of it.

But again, but to me, like, I think they want to make that like. Like Tim Kennedy, like, level stuff. I'm not saying it's great, but it's just to me, like, not. Not on that level. Like, you. You agree, Tyler? Like, on.

On that, he said he. Apparently he painted him like he was too savage for the battlefield. And to me, when you said, when you send SEALs to a battlefield, I'm not gonna sit there and Monday morning quarterback and how they do war.

Here's here. Well, here's this. I. I've heard this as well against Jocko, and I heard it when I was in the teams they were like, oh, you. He. He was having his guys do daytime stuff, daytime patrols, conventional. That's all. Conventional stuff. He should have been. He's putting his guys at risk. I've heard it all, and I'll say this. I worked. Jocko ran training when I went through and dude, it. He was. He's a hard individual. He made training super tough. I appreciated it. I respected him as an officer because just the way he carried himself.

Far as that deployment. And I, I've actually talked to some guys about this and I'll. I'll be the devil's advocate on. Because guys are like, they shouldn't have been doing that. When you are given a mission over there and it's like, hey, here's what you can do, or you can go do PSD or some, right? Jocko is going to take that mission and be like, yes, we can accomplish this, and you take what you can get. Sometimes times, man. And I've, you know, and being in the regular teams and I'm sure also ODA is like, dude, I know we've gone on an ops with no assets and just because it's like, hey, we're going now. If something happened, then, yeah, you could poke holes and be like, you guys shouldn't have done that. You guys. Yeah, so there is that. You know, it's.

[Brent]

And, and, and to reiterate with what Tyler said, and I'm not talking on both sides, Miles, I had to like present the case, but, you know, Tyler's like, well, if your biggest concern is that the guys Jocko was driving during surge time in Iraq were. Were super aggressive, that's. Well, yeah, that's.

[Eddie Gallagher]

That's what do you.

Right. Yeah, I, I don't have a problem with that. Yes. He's going to put people in danger.

[Eddie Gallagher]

He did. And people did get killed. Like, he lost a lot of seals. Some. So there is that as well, which people can point to.

But you know what this is. This is just a guess, but, you know, teams are teams regardless of where you go. I'm pretty sure if. Not that you should, but if you put that up for a vote and you told the team, say this is what we're doing, probably not a good idea. New assets, daytime raid, we go back to the gym and work out again. Or we could go do this. The boys are going to raise their hand and go do it.

And to Jocko's credit, he did put it to a vote.

About that all the time, he's like, this is what we are Tasked to do. Or this is. Is an option.

And he said he's like, this is going to be very dangerous. And you guys can either raise your hand if you want to go or you can, like, leave. No one's going to judge. Guess what? Nobody left.

[Brent]

They were like, we're going. And that's. I say it. It shouldn't. Generally speaking, it shouldn't. There are plenty of times that there. There are times that it should be put up for a vote. That's a good one.

Yeah.

[Brent]

I was in the unit, and we took on a mission that got put up to a vote for the operators by, you know, by. By our troop commander and our troop sergeant major. They're like, you guys want to do this or not? Like. Like, we can't. We get it. Like, do you guys want to go? And we raise our hand, and we went, of course. And two guys got shot that night. But you know what? We raised our hands and went. And then noted. And we. And we all would have made that same thing, that same vote again. I guarantee it.

[Eddie Gallagher]

Yeah. At the end of the day, the guys that were killed, how unfortunate that is. They all knew what they were getting into.

[Brent]

Yeah.

[Eddie Gallagher]

Yeah. During that time, did you do more good than bad with punishers? What's that?

[Brent]

Did you do more good than bad during that. That time? The question. The question is, did the punishers do more good than bad? That's. In a weird way, that's almost an unfair question. I'll tell you why. Why I say that. That you can only ask them for intent. You know, intent matters to me. It weighs a lot. But that's a hindsight question, you know, I mean, like, you don't know if you're doing more good than bad. Like, you. You have this thing that you want to do, and you hope it has this. Your intent is that it has this result. And. And you kind of don't know until your deployment's over what. What the end result was.

[Drew]

To be fair, though, you're sending war fighters. I'm not asking them to do good. I'm not. Fares over there. Do good. Engineers, maybe, to do so good.

[Brent]

But it's a good question. I get the question, but that's. I get. That's kind of my take on it. Would you agree with. You agree with that take, or do you.

[Eddie Gallagher]

Or do you think you apply that question to the whole war?

[Brent]

Gosh.

You know what I mean? That's your answer right there. It's like, yeah, they were definitely trying to do good over there. And I Think they. And I've, I've talked to Marines that were there and they're always like, dude, thank you. Like, thank the guys that were over there for what they were doing for us.

And that means a lot.

Yeah. So, I mean, that says something right there. You know, I, I don't know. I, I mean, I wasn't on that deployment, so I was at team one while that was going down. So that's, you know, I can't speak to what was. Act like going on over there and what the guys were thinking.

What do you got for PT advice? I'm assuming you don't mean physical therapy or do you mean like PTs and exercise? Yeah, yeah. I don't know, but we'll say it's working out. What's what?

[Eddie Gallagher]

I mean move. Like you just said, it's movements all that matters, man. So it doesn't matter what kind of shape that you're in. Like if you're just starting out and you're out of shape, start walk like go. And go on like two, three mile walks in the morning. That's not hard. And then start building up from there. I guarantee you when you start like moving like that every day, make a ritual of it, you're gonna want to start doing more and start doing better.

[Brent]

I've asked people before, some people, they call it, but basically it's just a, a lack of decision making prowess by analysis. And so they're like, well, what should I do for workouts? What are you doing now? Like, well, I don't know. I'm trying to figure out what, what I want to do. So, like, so you're just going to take the next step three months to find the perfect workout that you'll never find, and right now you're doing nothing. Like, do, do anything. Like they're, they're in a weird way. There are no bad workouts. There are better workouts, but just go lift something. Go do something.

Move, move.

On a tread incline, treadmill, 30 minutes a day is the greatest start.

I mean, it really is.

I mean, that's. None of them are complicated. Go, go, go. Lay on a bench press. Yeah.

Get off the couch, up, shut your TV off, put your phone away, stop making excuses and just go walk.

Just do the classic three until you figure it out. Bench press, curls and squat. I don't care. I don't care what you do if you don't go to the gym.
