A
So I am here with the owner of Indiglo Aesthetics and Wellness, Adrienne, and I'm so excited to be working with you. This is just fabulous. And I would love for you to tell my viewers and listeners a little bit more about how you started in a glow. You said that you're coming up on your one year anniversary, so congratulations and kind of like what all started it.
B
Absolutely. I'm so excited to be working with you too, Jamie. I'm so glad that we found each other. When I was younger, I had really bad acne and so I always kind of put a lot into skin care and love just any and everything beauty. I love making people feel beautiful about themselves and living their best lives. And I became an aesthetics rep when I was 25. Started off doing medical grade skincare for some companies. Then I got into the injectables world, which I absolutely love that. And I think it was just all these years of going into different med spas, different offices and seeing things that maybe I didn't really like the way they did it. And some things I did like the way they did it. But then the day it's just about patient care and patient satisfaction. And I said, you know what, I'm going to open up my own place and do it the way that I want to do it. And so we are a one stop shop. We have this static side, so your Botox, your facial filler, everything that Chelsea was mentioning on. And then we have the wellness side as well. So we do hormones, weight loss, IV therapy, vitamin injections. And then we have the medical grade skincare side. So we have our esthetician summer who does medical grade facials, microneedling, things like that as well.
A
Yeah, I mean, you really have it all. And so I try, which is really great because I feel like when you come into a spa you really love and you maybe you're going in there for one thing and then you start, you know, looking at all you have to offer. You're like, oh, I didn't know about this, but I'd love to try it. And you know, it's great. Like we were just talking about like new clients that come and they stay and like whether you see them once a year or twice a year and stuff like that, it's still good to have a place that kind of, you know, you can go to for anything.
B
I feel like we're a big family. I mean, they're tiny but mighty. You know, we have our nurse, we have a nurse practitioner, we have our esthetician we have me, but we, like patients have like, love us and we love our patients. They come back and they refer people and, and they love just to be able to come to one place to get everything done. And that makes me happy to say that they're happy. And sometimes they'll just stop in to get a sparkling water and a hug or just fill us in on things. So it's really been heartwarming and just kind of filled my cup.
A
Which is great, right? That you get to work with a bunch of amazing women. Yes. And then you meet a lot of amazing women.
B
Absolutely.
A
And I feel like nothing would be more empowering than to build a place that is around women feeling good about themselves. Because what better way to make yourself feel better is to make other women feel better. Because it truly is so important. Like all. It is all kind of like, what about the outside? But it's really like me and Chelsea talked about how you feel about it on the inside. Like, you should do it because it gives you a confidence boost and because, you know, you feel good and you feel like whether you're a mom or, you know, you work all the time to just pamper yourself.
B
Absolutely. It's so important. And especially in today's world, in this society, I mean, there's so much going on, even if it's to come get a facial with Summer, just to come lay down and take some breaths and get pampered, or, you know, spending time with our nurse practitioner to actually be heard. You know, I feel tired. I feel like my skin's not the best right now. I feel these things are going on in my life and actually be able to. It's not just a five minute doctor visit. You know, you get a full hour with Mariah or nurse practitioner to sit down and go over your concerns and really be able to talk woman to woman about like, what's going on in your life. So we can come up with plans.
A
Yeah. And you guys also, which I think is great, is that you go to conferences and you're always looking at the things that are coming new to try to educate yourself and bring them in. What are some of your favorite things you do? Like, what are your, like, personal favorites, things that you offer now? And I love.
B
So I'm a phlebotomist too, so I do the blood draws along with Chelsea. I love to help women feel better on that aspect from the inside out. So if they're saying they're fatigued and everything, they meet with Mariah and then we have a full service lab Here, so we can do all their blood work here in house. We can test for a lot of things that the normal doctor does not test for to see what's going on and then to get those results back and have the patient come back and meet with Mariah and say, oh, my gosh, I feel so much better. And now we're going to get on these hormones or I'm going to get on this weight loss medication. Then they're coming back, and every time they come back, they're just so happy. They're like, I'm so glad we found you. All because I feel normal now, or I feel like how I should be feeling.
A
Doctors don't take the time. Sometimes it's really hard to find a good doctor that's going to take you seriously.
B
Yeah. Or even like, you coming in today saying, like, this bothers me, and then having a solution for you being Chelsea and Chelsea being able to fix that and then just see you smile afterwards, like, that's what it's all about. Yeah. Like, I just. I get so much joy out of, you know, my cup gets filled out of seeing other people and our patients happy.
A
Yeah. And if you want your ego boosted, come here because the. These are some hype women. You guys have hyped me up all day. As soon as I came in, you were like, I love that dress. You look so good. Oh, my God, your hair looks so good. And I'm like, oh, my God. I'll just stop in here if I'm.
B
Ever feeling down about myself on you. Like, the compliments are so calming in here.
A
Like, I could just sit here all day and I'm like, just don't bother me.
B
I will say, like, a lot of med spots look like you go in and it's just very much like the pretty girls. Or some women say, oh, I feel so intimidated going to certain places. And, you know, I feel like we're attractive women, but they come in and they're like, oh, you just feel real, like, relatable and everything. And I don't feel like everything's sterile and I can be myself and.
A
Or they're trying to get you in and out because they have another appointment in 30 minutes.
B
That's what we do. We don't, like, overbook our patients so they have time. So God forbid, like, you're running late or something happens. Life happens. We can make the time for you. And. And it's a calm environment.
A
Yeah. I feel like, again, like I said, if you are trusting somebody to put needles in your face, you want them.
B
To take their time to answer every question.
A
Even dumb. Like, even it's, you know, and there's no dumb questions, obviously. But I do feel like sometimes you'll go to different places and they're trying to rush you or because, you know, they're on a tight schedule or because it's, you know, it's late in the afternoon and they're, they're ready to get home or whatever it is. And like, you can't be that way when you're doing something as important to your like, face and when you're spending.
B
That amount of money too, because, I mean, let's face it, aesthetics is usually a want to, not a need to, a privilege. Yeah. And, and when you're spending money, whether it's hormones, weight loss, facial filler, you want somebody to take time and feel like that you're heard and like you and Chelsea were saying, go over all the concerns and, and go over facial symmetry and balancing and you don't want to feel like you're just another like as a puppy mill place.
A
Yeah, yeah. I had a lot of people ask and I'm so curious because I don't know what is micro needling?
B
Oh, I love micro needling. So micro needling are tiny little needles. I can show you the machine later. It goes on to. We use skin pen, which is like the Rolls Royce of micro needling, but they are 14 microscopic needles and it goes really fast over your skin. So it's controlled wound or injury to the skin. And then you, it produces new collagen. They say for every skin pen you do, you get a year's worth of collagen back. So it helps to build up the thickness integrity of the skin, produce new collagen. It's very glowy. We use exosomes, like plant based exosomes. Or we can draw your blood and turn it into PRP and microneedle it with that as well. Those are add ons, but usually we sell them in a package of three. We numb you up beforehand. You don't feel anything. Some people say it feels like a kitty cat's licking you. So it's pretty much painless. And then it's about a 24 hour downtime where you're like a little bit pink. But yeah, you can do those every four to six weeks. And they're really good for acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, or if you just really want to keep your skin young, maybe you don't want to do dysport or Botox. This will help build up that thickness of your skin.
A
Yeah, I feel like that would be so good after, like, you travel or, you know, your pores are clogged or whatever that may be. And then me and you also talked, and I was trying to explain this to my mom when we were talking about my chin. And what was that thing that you could put up in there? And then it would swell you for a couple days and then.
B
Yeah. Deoxycholic acid or Kybella. Yeah. So it. It dissolves the fat almost immediately. So it's an enzyme. It gets injected into that area. We can be very meticulous with it and pick out little pockets it was developed for under the chin so that submental fat. And when it's injected, it just pops those fat cells. You are swollen afterwards for probably a good week, but it.
A
And then it tightens you right up.
B
It snatches your jawline right up.
A
And I love that there are so many things that you can. That I had no idea that you can do. Whether it's micro needling or doing something for my double chin to kind of give me that tight end, or if you are insecure about your neck or whatever it may be. There's so many opt.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, you don't have to do master abroad. I could do that. Like, it's so many options that if you're. If you are curious about doing something to just come into it. Set an appointment to just ask those questions.
B
Yeah, yeah. Because really, one thing, when I set up Indiglo, I've had the privilege of working with some of these women in the past, and I've seen their work, their caliber of work. And so, like, when Chelsea said, yes, I want to come work with you, I was ecstatic because I've seen the good, the bad in the industry, and I knew how. What amazing injector she was. But we will find out the answer and find something that fits your lifestyle and. And your goals.
A
And you guys are always very honest about swelling.
B
Yeah.
A
How long it takes to recover. I asked so many questions. I was like, if I take ibuprofen, Chelsea was so honest. She was like, you know, it might more. Yeah. And stuff. And so it is important to know all that. It's like you don't want to think you're walking out of a appointment and you're not going to be swollen for a few days. Like, that's, you know. And so I feel like people will say, sugarcoat the truth sometimes because they want their patient to do it.
B
Their money or they want to talk a patient in or they don't want to take the time to really explain what's going on. But I mean, the reality is anytime you stick a needle into the face, you could hit a blood vessel. There's a lot of them in there. You could get a bruise. I think it's. I think patients are fine with things if they know what to expect. I don't want to get the phone calls as the owner. Like, you didn't tell me this. So we have consent forms, we go over everything. We do good faith exams, we make sure that the patient fully understands and we'll tell somebody like, oh, you're going on a vacation next week. Maybe wait till you get back to get lip filler or something. If you're taking pictures, we try to kind of map it out and come up with a plan.
A
Yeah. And so for anybody that is local in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, tell us about your year celebration. When is it? What can we expect? Bring your girlfriend's mom.
B
Oh, we'd love that. We turn one May 15th. So it'll be one year that we've been amazing.
A
Yeah.
B
