At 21, I was a student trying to survive deadlines, life, and making my last coin stretch through the month. Some days I thought I had it all figured out—other days, I was completely lost.
I’d sit there staring at my expenses, wondering how I was going to make it to the next allowance. I’d look around and ask, “Am I the only one struggling like this?”
It turns out, I wasn’t.
We all go through it—the late nights, the empty wallets, the pressure to pass, and somehow still keep our sanity.
But along the way, I realized something important:
What we learn in class matters—but it’s the things we figure out outside the classroom that really prepare us for life.
No one teaches you how to stretch your money until the end of the month.
No one tells you how to balance stress and still show up for exams and tests.
No one shows you how to start a small hustle with zero capital—or how to build wealth slowly, as a student.
That’s why I started The Baobab Lens.
The Baobab tree is known for standing strong, no matter the season. It’s got deep roots—it lasts.
That’s what I want this podcast to be for you: a space where we build real-life skills that help you stand strong—now and long after you leave university.
We’ll talk about:
This is not some expert lecture—nooo. This is real talk.
Stuff I’ve lived.
Things I’m still figuring out.
Stories from people like you and me—students trying to make it work. To survive and Thrive
It’s honest, practical, and made for the life we’re living now.
So, if you hear something here that helps you—hit that follow button. It’s a small click, but it means a lot. It helps this podcast grow and reach more students like us—figuring life out, one step at a time.
Thank you for being here.
Let’s grow together.
This is The Baobab Lens.
Welcome.
