Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse job, chapter 7, verse 17 says, what are people that you should make so much of us that you should think of us so often? Job has lost everything. And now his friends give him some terrible advice. His first friend Elijah as insists that the attacks of Satan are Job's fault. And his second friend Bildad tells Job to say he's sorry for his sin so that all of his troubles will go away. We all sin and sometimes really bad things happen as a result of that sin. But Job knew that his sin had not caused all the tragedy that just happened in his life. And God's word tells us we know that the tragedy in Job's life didn't happen because of his sin. The Bible even tells us that Job was blameless. Job is heartbroken, but even in his grief, he doesn't say anything untrue or unkind about God. Job even tells his friends that they're wrong and reminds them of who God is. Today's my God. God is infinitely powerful and he's also personally close. Job reminds his friends that God spread out the heavens and moves mountains and does great things too marvelous to understand. And Job also marvels that the same all powerful God who does all of these things comes close to us. God is big enough to create the entire universe and caring enough to want to be close to you. He is powerful, he's personal and he's where the joy is.
