Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verb.
B (0:13)
In Leviticus 26:12, God says, I will walk among you. I will be your God, and you will be my people. God tells his people that if they keep their covenant with him, he will bless them greatly, give them peace and safety and abundance. And he also warns them about what will happen if they break their covenant promises. He'll send five phases of curses.
C (0:46)
Each phase of curse is worse than the one before it.
B (0:49)
But his people can repent and turn

back to him at any point.
B (0:53)
And when they do, God says that the curses will stop.

God.

These curses aren't punishment. They're a form of discipline. It may be hard to tell the difference, but God's discipline is meant to bring people back to Him. He disciplines us because he loves us and because he knows that living his way is the best way.
C (1:19)
God also instructs his people to give a tithe, which is a good word to remember.

D (1:28)
Tithe means 1 10th. It's an offering of income, money, food or animals made by God's people.
C (1:35)
For the Israelites, this could have been money, food or animals. This will support the work of the

tabernacle and help the priests. The Levites continue to do their jobs.

God forgives. In ancient Israel, if one party broke

the terms of a covenant, then the covenant was void and gone.
B (2:00)
But here, God tells His people that he won't withdraw his covenant if the Israelites break their part of it. Instead, he'll give them a chance to repent from their sins. Even in his discipline, he's always gracious and merciful.
