Hey, bible readers. I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Every time we finish seven days together in the Bible, we'll pause to reflect and review. We'll take the big things we've learned and round them up. We'll call it a seven day rounder.
B
Let's zoom out.
A
So far we've read 11 chapters of Genesis and 16 chapters of Job. Since we're reading the Bible in chronological or time order, we're going to skip around like this. Chronological, that's another good one word to remember.
B
Chronological order is time order. We'll read through the Bible in chronological order or the order in which the events happen.
A
We've seen God's very good creation. And we've seen the fall when people first sinned against God. We've seen Noah and his family protected by God's first named covenant. And we've seen Job's faith in hard times. And on every page we've seen that God is both powerful and personal. This week we learned a lot of words to remember. The first four words we learned were about the Bible itself.
C
The Bible is God's word made up of 66 books recorded by around 40 different authors written over 1500 years. Every word of the Bible is true and given to us by God.
B
Scripture is another word for the writings in the Bible. The Old Testament is made up of the first 39 books of the Bible. It was originally written in the Hebrew language. The New Testament is made up of the last 27 books of the Bible. It was originally written in the Greek language.
A
And we just learned one word about how we'll read the Bible.
B
Chronological order is time order. We'll read through the Bible in chronological order or the order in which the events happen.
A
And we learned six words that explain the things we're reading in the Bible.
B
The Trinity is one God in three God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. Sin is anything we say, think or do that displeases God. Sovereign means to have power and authority over someone or something. God has ultimate power and authority over everyone and everything he's created. A covenant is a relationship with a promise. Mercy is when you don't get what you do deserve. Grace is when you get what you don't deserve.

Now we've finished our first seven days of reading the Bible together. So let's talk about what it means in our lives to do that. Let's find an application. There is a lot of information in the Bible that's hard for us to understand today. And while this information can sometimes be confusing or even frustrating. Remember this every time you read the Bible, you'll learn a little more about who God is, what he's doing, and how much he loves his kids. So what have you learned so far about who God is and what about what he's doing and about how much he loves his kids? As you read the Bible, pray and ask God to help you understand now what he wants you to, and trust that God will help you understand more when he wants you to. You'll keep learning more about God every time you read the Bible.

Here's where the joy is.
