This past season on my podcast, here's the thing, I spoke with more actors, musicians, policymakers and so many other fascinating people like writer and actor Dan Aykroyd. I love writing more than anything. You're left alone, you know, you do three hours in the morning, you write three hours in the afternoon, Go pick up a kid from school and right at night and after nine hours you come out with seven pages and then you're moving on. And actor and comedian Jack McBrayer. The most important aspect is the collaboration with people that I like, I trust are talented. That has been the most amazing gift to me about this crazy business that we've chosen. Meeting these people who have such diverse talents and you're able to create something together. What'S up everybody? Happy weekend. Steve's joining me. We were just sitting in here talking about Vertigo. I probably should have just turned the mics on at that point.
Morgan
It's okay, though. You'll never get to hear it, and we're not gonna repeat it, so. Sorry.
Scuba Steve
No. You know, it's good to have personal and professional moments. It's great. The mic is professional. That was our personal moment.
Morgan
Exactly.
Scuba Steve
Helping each other with medical problems.
Morgan
Exactly. Yeah. As we age, we fall apart.
Scuba Steve
That is the truth of aging. You're privileged to age, but, man, does it kind of suck to also age.
Morgan
Oh, my God. Yeah. Because even this morning, I woke up and I've been sleeping for the longest time. Where one of my most comfortable positions is where I will sleep on my right side. But I put my right arm up underneath the pillow. And so I have like, this, like, thing where it's arm pillow and then into my head, and it creates, like, this, like, nice little thing around my neck. That feels good. But when I wake up in the morning, I have this, like, sharp shooting pain right in, like, that I call my angel wings, where it's like. Well, I don't know what the real name for it is.
Scuba Steve
I know what you're talking about. Those muscles that, like, where an angel wing would be.
Morgan
Exactly. Yeah. I feel like there's, like, some. There's like a bone there or something when you're moving it. And somewhere in there, it's like someone's taking a knife and just shove it in there, and they're just twisting it and turning it, and they're lighting it on fire. And it hurts so bad right now.
Scuba Steve
You do realize you're sleeping in that position for, like, seven hours.
Morgan
I know. Yeah, exactly. But I do toss and turn a little bit more, but then I'll go back into that position. But I never had that problem when I was, like, 17 or 19 or 25.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. You could sleep with your head cranked, and you'd wake up and be like, yeah, it's fine.
Morgan
Exactly. Grab me a beer.
Scuba Steve
The things that happen are much different. I've been sleeping with a pregnancy pillow lately.
Morgan
Oh, really? Okay.
Scuba Steve
I had to buy. No. Gosh, no. It's for the vertigo.
Morgan
I know. I'm just kidding.
Scuba Steve
So you have to kind of sleep sitting up. And I couldn't find anything to be comfortable. Cause I'm a stomach or side sleeper, and I've been having to sleep on my back. Really?
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And this pregnancy pill, man, it shouldn't just be for pregnant people. This thing is amazing.
Morgan
That's the one that goes between your legs, Right?
Scuba Steve
So it's a U shape, and you can move it in between your Legs.
Morgan
But it's okay.
Scuba Steve
Surrounds your whole body.
Morgan
Yes. Yeah, we had one of those when my wife was pregnant the first time.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
They're amazing.
Scuba Steve
Oh, my gosh. Why don't more people sleep with these? These should not be a pregnancy thing.
Morgan
This should just be a pillow.
Scuba Steve
Like, I get that it's for that, but.
Morgan
Oh, yeah. Yeah. But anyone can use it. Yeah. Especially because it does put you in a nice position to where if you like to sleep sort of like, I guess, unconventional, because you're supposed to sleep, like, flat. Like, you're in, like, almost like a vessel. That's the best coffin. Exactly. Cough. And it's best for your spine and for your alignment and everything, which I try to sleep that way, but then it's just not as comfortable as on.
Scuba Steve
Your side or comfortable about back sleeping.
Morgan
No. Nothing. Yeah, but you have to. So we try and then we fail. But those pillows make it easier and make it feel more comfortable when you're sleeping in the weird ways we do.
Scuba Steve
Exactly. And then you can be in weird positions and not have a cranked thing, even if you're 45 years old.
Morgan
I'm not 45 years old.
Scuba Steve
I was. I was exaggerated. I know. You're not. You're still in your 30s.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
You're doing okay. But, you know, your body's acting like you're 45 years old.
Morgan
Yeah. If not 65. Oh, my God.
Scuba Steve
Well, see, then I made you young.
Morgan
Oh, yeah. Exactly. So thank you. Sort of.
Scuba Steve
Speaking of your wife, I do want to know how Valentine's Day went. What'd you guys do for Valentine's Day?
Morgan
It was great. I'm trying to think. So normally, our tradition has been. And mostly when we used to live back in the west coast, because we were around her family a lot, we started the tradition of always doing Valentine's Day as, like, a. A community thing a lot. Because most of her aunts or titas, their husbands have passed or whatever. And so we would all get together because we all live in the same block in California. Upstate, it was Antioch, California. Not the Antioch here. Pittsburgh, Antioch out the East Bay. People know. People know. People know where that is right there down the 4. The freeway. Lots of traffic.
Scuba Steve
Okay, Lunchbox. We don't need all the details of where Antioch is. Give me back to the Valentine's Day.
Morgan
Okay. Yeah. So we would always do, like, a communal Valentine's Day where we would go to, like, Costco and get, like, lobster tails and really good cuts of steak and, like, all the Tito's would make some Sort of Filipino food. Like, they'd make, like, karey. Karey. Or they make okoy, or they'd make some sort of adobo or some really good food. And it would pair well with what my wife and I are making, which is more like an American side dish. A little surf and turf and whatever. Maybe some pasta. I always, like, make fettuccine.
Scuba Steve
All of those names of all those sound cool.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
I don't know what they are, but they sound awesome.
Morgan
Oh, man. It's really good, I think. You don't eat seafood, right?
Scuba Steve
No.
Morgan
Dang. We couldn't eat okoy because it has, like, little pieces of shrimp in it. But it's really good. You could probably make a vegetarian version where it's got everything else, where it's, like, the bean sprouts and, like, the potato they make out of it, and it's, like, fried. And there's a. I love a potato.
Scuba Steve
Don't have to say anymore.
Morgan
Perfect. Okay.
Scuba Steve
Cool potato. Cool.
Morgan
Exactly. Bean sprouts. You can eat bean sprouts. So it's got all that in there. It's really, really good. And you dip. The best thing about Filipino food is the. The sabao with, like, the sauce or things.
Scuba Steve
You have cool names.
Morgan
Right? I know. And everything tastes really good, too. And then the sauces, you dip it in. We're really big on ticking. You can do this for any, like, fish in general. You don't eat fish. Dang it. But try it with something. Vinegar, if, you know, whatever goes well with vinegar. So vine, pepper, garlic, and I think a little bit of lemon. And that's, like, one of their dipping sauces that we'll just make fresh. And it's just. It pairs well, but we'll make that. They'll make this. We hang out. We do that kind of Valentine's Day. And then we haven't done that, obviously, in a while because I don't live in San Francisco anymore.
Scuba Steve
So have you kind of recreated it with your family and all the kids? Like you're having a community Valentine's Day?
Morgan
Yeah. So that's kind of what it is now. So now it's the same thing, but on a smaller scale. But now it's with. Yes. The kids and my wife and myself. On Valentine's Day, we'll do some sort of, like, cooking together and eating together and, like, that whole kind of thing. We always exchange cards. Not big on the gift thing, because usually we put all of our money every year into a big vacation. And so we were like. So our Focus is always like, eye on the prize. Every bit of cash that we have. Don't buy anything little or stupid or whatever. Focus on not saying Valentine's Day is stupid, but focus on the big prize, which is our vacation in the summer, so we're saving up for Hawaii. So like, all right. All the money goes to that. Cards are great because we always like to show appreciation for each other and find a car that matches us.
Scuba Steve
A little bit of chocolates. Cuz I know your wife loves some sweets. Cuz we've bonded over that.
Morgan
Yeah. I didn't get chocolates, but we did when we got at Costco. That day we went to Costco, so we had a great day together. That day we had breakfast together. I wasn't here on Friday, took the day off, by the way. So we had breakfast together and then we went to Costco. Because normally when we go, we have to bring the whole pack.
Scuba Steve
Yep. Whole crew.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Family outing.
Morgan
And when you got a kid that's 7, 4 and 2 in Costco, it's fun. It's fine. But man, it's like, it's a lot because one wants to go here, one wants to go there, and one wants to be in the car. One doesn't want to be in the car. One wants to eat the blueberries we just got. And then they give them the blueberries. We're like, all right, fine, they're hungry. I can't deprive my kids of food if they're hungry. And then by the time we get to the end of Costco, we're almost down with the blueberries are gone. And it's like, oh, my gosh. So her and I got to go. We got to enjoy it. Spend a solid hour getting what we want. Loading the cart up. No one pulling on us. No this, that, and the other. It was awesome. And then we came home, got the kids, and then we did the whole dinner thing and we got chocolate covered strawberries at Costco. That was the point of Costco.
Scuba Steve
Got it. And then get a version of some treats.
Morgan
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And it was.
Scuba Steve
She loves those. Trust me. Like I said, we bond. We bonded over. Every time we've been at events together, we're always at the dessert table together.
Morgan
Yes. Like Chris Jansen's house. I remember Chris Jansen's house.
Scuba Steve
And did she ever come to CMA's? I feel like she did.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Because I think we were bonding over the dessert table there also.
Morgan
Yeah, exactly. So all about the sweets or one of those, like, the label shows where it's like, hey, come to the bed. MGM lounge before, they always have like a spread of all these.
Scuba Steve
It was one of those. Cause we were in the lounge at Bridgestone and they had like a dessert spread.
Morgan
Okay. Yes.
Scuba Steve
I don't know what the event was, but I do remember her and I both being over there.
Morgan
Chocolate, desserts, sweets, put them in my mouth.
Scuba Steve
Yep.
Morgan
Yeah, she's all about it. And I'm all about it too. So yeah, so we have to have some sort of like sweets or chocolate or whatever. But we did that little low key. But then the next day, the 15th, we got our sitter. She came over, watched the kids and her and I went to try out this new place here called Choi. Yeah, it's next to Mockingbird.
Scuba Steve
I love things about it.
Morgan
It's really good. Yeah. Oh my gosh. It's really, really good. That's the one where I was telling you, I don't know where this goes, but remember at the end of the other one with the questions and answers where I was like, oh, I like that for you.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Morgan
What is this Aaron place?
Scuba Steve
So this is first. So they'll hear that.
Morgan
Oh, you'll hear that in part two.
Scuba Steve
Part three.
Morgan
Part three. So in part three, this will all pay off towards the end of that episode. If you even get a chance to get that far into it. Because if you're not already bored. I'm so sorry about my long ass.
Scuba Steve
Story about I'm not bored, but you should continue.
Morgan
You're probably bored though.
Scuba Steve
No, I'm not.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
But I can't show a lot of facial expressions right now, so it may look like I either have Botox or I'm uninterested, but I promise I'm not.
Morgan
You are very still. You're very still and you're not moving a lot. I'm like, all right, okay.
Scuba Steve
That's why I'm trying to keep eyeballing.
Morgan
Yes, I know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I'm like, oh, my God, Steven, you're an idiot. She has vertigo. She can't move her body. We just talked about this off air or off mic. That she's trying her absolute best to be completely still. She's not gonna.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I have to be a pretty princess.
Morgan
I know. Yes.
Scuba Steve
Okay, wait, hold on.
Morgan
Sorry.
Scuba Steve
We're gonna take one quick break and I want you to finish this story.
Morgan
Okay? All right.

So we go to Choi. Really, really good. I actually enjoyed it lot because it. I don't know if Manit Shohan still owns it, but she used to own that whole block right there. Mockingbird. There's one next to it where Choi is now. And it was kind of like an infusion of Asian and Indian food.
Scuba Steve
I know what you're talking about, but I don't. I don't think it's there anymore.
Morgan
It's not. Because that's where Choi's at. Okay, so Choi took its spot. So she had that one. And then next to it is that straight up Indian restaurant. I think it's like called Chana or Chawana.
Scuba Steve
Oh, Chawan Ale House.
Morgan
Yes. So that's straight up Indian food.
Scuba Steve
I may have butchered that name.
Morgan
It's fine. Yeah, but people will figure it out. It's that block. But she owns for sure, Mockingbird and that one. Maybe she rebranded and now it's Choi because it has a. I don't know, it kind of feels like it could be hers or maybe she. I don't know. But it's really good. It's really good San Francisco based Chinese food, but on like a higher level because everything is like elevated and looks really pretty and like really good ingredients. And we got, I mean, the food there, all of it's really, really good. We got the show my or Shumai, which is really good. And you couldn't eat that because it's got meat in it.
Scuba Steve
I just love all the names. Yeah, genuinely. I really love all the names of these.
Morgan
You should go try it. I mean, literally, it's so close. Just one day, like after work or something. I mean, I don't. Maybe not until like 4, though.
Scuba Steve
I can just go sit at the bar and try. Like, do they have. Do they have.
Morgan
They have a really nice rice. They have fried rice. Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Because that's always my go to at really like either Chinese, Japanese type restaurants. Because it's so good.
Morgan
Oh, yeah.
Scuba Steve
And that's the one thing I can typically eat. But I always like will sit At a bar in those scenarios. Because I'm literally just ordering fried rice.
Morgan
Yeah, I'll just have fried rice, please. And a lot of alcohol. They do have some vegetables, vegetarian stuff. I don't have the menu on me, but. Because I don't work there.
Scuba Steve
No, that's okay. It's okay. I'll wake it up. That's good.
Morgan
Here's your menu and here's your drink menu. But they have a lot of things that you could eat there that are vegetarian based. Or at least don't have a lot of meat in it. Or you can remove the meat. Say, I don't want steak in this. Or I don't want whatever I want. Just that. Without it. Yeah, because, man, we had some sort of skirt steak. What is it? New York strip steak. And some sort of bed of like amazing onions. And the sauce, the big thing is the sabao, the sauce with Asian food. Again, just makes the meal basically turn.
Scuba Steve
Into a food podcast. And I really like that for us.
Morgan
Yes, I do too.
Scuba Steve
I am interested. Even though I cannot show a lot of facial expressions.
Morgan
I love that for you. So. So this was a restaurant which will pay up in part three at the end. So we're sitting there having a good time, really great food, and her and I are drinking. She like, she loves gin. So when she's on a gin night, like, she's going down.
Scuba Steve
And you love whiskey.
Morgan
I love whiskey. So I had, yeah, bourbon, whiskey, rye, that like family. And so I had. They had some sort of like their version of an old fashioned, really, really good, like super delicious. And then she had a bunch of gin drinks. And so we're drinking only cocktails and alcohol. Some guy rolls up and he's like, hey, you guys want some wine? Oh, I forget what she said. Something along the lines of like, no, we're good. We're only drinking alcohol. And he's like, okay, you sure? And then she's like, yeah, we like, we don't. And then he still keeps going in. Well, we're really trying to show that, you know, Asian food really pairs well with wine. Da, da da. And he's like doing this whole thing and we're just trying to enjoy it. We don't go out very often. We go out once a month. And it's also our Valentine's Day.
Scuba Steve
Leave us alone.
Morgan
Yeah, exactly. And our waiter was amazing at that. I wish I remembered his name to recommend him when you go there. But man, he was really good because he was stealth. He knew when to come in and ask for if we needed something or when to ask for orders. And he knew when to just.
Scuba Steve
Great self awareness.
Morgan
Yes, great self awareness. He knew when he was walking by, like, oh, they're having a moment. Don't really stop now. They look fine.
Scuba Steve
This other man did not.
Morgan
No awareness. But he's also, I'm sure he's, I think, a sommelier. So it's based on tips and percentage and how he makes his money. So I understand he's got the hustle, I get it. But there's like 40 other tables, so once you get the vibe it ain't happening. Maybe it's probably just, alright, let's go to the next one or maybe try later or something. But he wasn't getting. We were like deep into a conversation. I don't remember about what, but it was, it was like a deep conversation. And he's like, you guys want. It's like, you guys want some wine? We're like, no, we're good. You sure you don't want. It's like, no, we don't want the wine. And he starts still. He goes off about the pairing of it and everything. My wife goes, oh, I just love that for you. That's. Oh my God, that's so awesome for you. And then he starts cracking up and walks off and he's like, okay, I get it.
Scuba Steve
It's a great saying. I love that for you.
Morgan
Exact. Yeah, she.
Scuba Steve
She says it more sarcastically than me most of the time when I say I do really mean it, but I could see how it could totally be used as a sarcastic phrase.
Morgan
Oh my God. She's three gin drinks. She's three gin drinks in. And. And she's like, oh, shit, here, here it comes. She doesn't want to be bothered. She said, no. Yeah, she gets the sales side.
Scuba Steve
She's working night out.
Morgan
Yeah, exactly. And she gets the sales side of things. She used to work in banking and sales and all that. She understands what he's trying to do and of course has something to accomplish. But when you get the no, you get the no, you move on.
Scuba Steve
You know, this reminds me of an incident that recently happened, but in a better way.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
I didn't have a I love that for you moment. I went to a place called Radish. It's like I was in desperate need of some healthy food. I have ate like crap like a little child going through this vertigo because I feel like masturbations are the only thing that tastes good. So I finally felt good for like this healthy food and I go to this Place called Radish. And I'm talking to this girl. I have my glasses on, and I just. I cannot. I'm trying to build this bowl, and my brain is not working.
Morgan
Both one of the ones were like, what do you want? You want a little bit of this, a little bit of that?
Scuba Steve
Yeah, you like, I build my own.
Morgan
I build a bowl. Gotcha. Okay.
Scuba Steve
I was like, I. Oh, my gosh. Like, my brain radishes. I was like, I'm so sorry. I'm not on this planet right now. And she was like, it's okay. My head feels like it's in the clouds. I was like, funny you say that. My head literally is in the clouds. I have vertigo. And she's like, oh, my gosh. I'm sorry. I was like, no, that was hilarious. Like, great comparison. And we just sit there having a conversation while I'm literally trying to figure out the menu.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And she goes, you know, this is on us. You're having a rough day.
Morgan
Oh, my gosh. That's so cool.
Scuba Steve
Bought my lunch for me.
Morgan
That's awesome.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, that's really cool. We just, like, sat there and had a conversation at the cash register about both of us having our head in the clouds.
Morgan
Yeah. And just bonding over it. And of course, hers may be something different. You're like, oh, you have vertigo. Oh, you literally have a. Oh, okay. And she felt bad.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And I really didn't mean it in a way of, like, I literally. When she was like, hey, I'll buy this. I was like, no, no, no, please don't. Like, I'm fine.
Morgan
You always feel kind of weir, right? You're like, like, of course it's awesome. Yeah, of course. But you're also like, I don't. I feel weird about it.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And obviously, like, the business takes care of it or whatever.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah, of course.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Like, I'm happy to, like, it's cool. She's like, no. Like, this is on us. So we had had, like, a cool conversation, and I was like, you know, awesome customer service.
Morgan
Yeah. That's the one thing you don't. I see it. But then you don't see it a lot. And so when you don't see it a lot, you feel like it's just dead across the board. But when you come across like that, you're like, oh, my God. Some good old school customer service, like, for some of that 90s customer service, where it's like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry. I. No. And you're like, it's not Really a big deal. I don't care. But they're still on that level of like, I don't want to lose your business. And maybe because they are burnt by those jerks that go on Yelp and they'll be like, oh, everything's just fine. And then they'll go on there 30 minutes later and go, I asked for napkins and I only got two. And I wanted.
Scuba Steve
That's a really great voice for whoever those people are.
Morgan
I only got two and I asked for napkins. I wanted more, but I didn't ask for more. But I'm gonna come here and bitch and complain about that. I didn't get more, even though I didn't ask for more. I could have easily asked for more, but I didn't. But I'd rather complain behind their. And ruin their rating and take their four whatever star thing and, you know, bring it down a notch and screw it. Oh, and this is like, what. Why even do that? So I understand why some people are like, no, no, we need to give her a free bowl no matter what. Because you could be the person that would go on there and be like, yeah, she made fun of me and talked about me and said I had vertigo and really, really made me feel. Da da da. And then start a whole campaign and get her fired and then the company goes down and then they're tarnished and they're canceled. That's like horrible.
Scuba Steve
Like, I could never. I personally could never.
Morgan
You wouldn't. But people would do that kind of crap. They do that stuff all the time.
Scuba Steve
Everybody should have to work a customer service job in.
Morgan
Yes.
Scuba Steve
At some point in their life to understand what customer service is like. It doesn't matter what kind, but just customer service.
Morgan
Yes. And if you have and you forgot, remember that time, remember the perspective of asshole customers or customers that are, that are cool that you tripped up with and then the experience of like helping them out. And also I think it feels good when you're doing a customer service based job and you are able to make someone's day go from crap to better over something so little and insignificant because you had some sort of little power to give them. Whatever. I feel like that it's so insignificant to the actual cost of the business, but it pays off in huge dividends because then you have that one customer for life. Dividends.
Scuba Steve
Makes me laugh. Sorry, go on. I don't know why dividends always will make me chuckle.
Morgan
Dividends, dividends, dividends.
Scuba Steve
Sorry, I really.
Morgan
That's okay.
Scuba Steve
Derailed.
Morgan
That's okay. But you have a customer for life. But then that also becomes a word of mouth thing of like, yo, I went to Radish this one time and I was there and you tell your story, but then she gave me the bowl free. It was so cool. Like, oh my God, it's awesome. And then they think about Radish as a positive experience and then they may drive by it or see it or do something on social or they're hungry and like, let's go to Radish. It just creates that what I consider the, the in the fabric of a DNA of someone for like a long term win. Which is a weird way to put it, but I feel like that is a huge customer servicing. That is, that is lost on most people because they're just so stretched and busy and tired.
Scuba Steve
It goes back to that when you were saying like the DNA of yourself. Like you never forget how somebody made you feel.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Ever.
Morgan
Yep.
Scuba Steve
But. And it goes both ways, from customer service to the client and vice versa.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah.
Scuba Steve
I do have, I have another story of like kind of customer service type situation. We're going to take a quick break and I'll come back, I'll tell you what happened.

Mark Seal
Leave the Gun Take the Cannoli is based on my co host Mark's best selling book of the same title. And on this show we call upon his years of research to help unpack the story behind the Godfather's birth. From start to finish, this is really.
Morgan
The first interview I've done in bed.
Mark Seal
We sift through innumerable accounts. 35 pages isn't very much, many of them conflicting.
Scuba Steve
That's nonsense.
Mark Seal
There were 60 pages and try to get to the truth of what really happened.
Morgan
And they said we're finished, this is over. Not only is not going to work, you got to get rid of those guys.
Mark Seal
Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli features new and archival interviews with Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Evans, James Caan, Talia Shire and many others.

Morgan
It was a moment that should have broken me, but just because of how.
Mark Seal
I was raised and my bullishness and.
Morgan
Arrogance, to want to be great hardened me.
Mark Seal
It gave me a platform to be.
Morgan
Singularly focused on greatness.
Scuba Steve
We all have moments like this. Something happens that's supposed to break us. But it's in these moments that we discover what we're really made of. I promise you, if anyone knows this, it's me. I'm Ashlyn Harris. So while I was at Trader Joe's, you want to speak of Valentine's Day, I was buying myself flowers to put together. Like a little bouquet for Trader Joe. From Trader Joe's.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah.
Scuba Steve
And. And the sweetest old man was also in the bouquet section. And I kind of looked at him and I could tell he was trying to make some decisions And I just looked at him and I smiled, kind of like saying I was a friendly face in case he needed something. And sure enough, like, that was all he needed. He goes, can you help me? And I was like, yeah. Like, what's up? I don't work here. He's like, no, I'm trying to pick out fun bouquet for my wife to put together. Can you tell me if these go together? And he was just so stinking cute about it. And he, like, he had picked a bunch, and me and another girl that were standing there were like, well, maybe you, like, take away this one. And then he was like, okay. And he felt really good about it. But then I could tell he was still contemplating some more. And I was like, you might need to add a little bit more greenery to that. And he's like, that's what I was thinking. It was just such a cute, stranger interaction. I'll never see this man again in my life. Probably.
Morgan
No. Yeah, yeah.
Scuba Steve
But it was such a cute moment where he was trying to do something nice, and it was strangers being kind to each other, and it just gave me a little bit of hope again.
Morgan
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Scuba Steve
People interacting in person and being kind to each other.
Morgan
Yeah. Which is. Which is when it happens. It used to happen so much more often, but it's still pretty cool to see. And also, I think he probably looked at you and was like, oh, it's like, my daughter. My daughter's really good with flowers. She reminds me my daughter Karen. Oh, Karen, I wish you were here right now, but there's a woman that looks just like Karen. I'll ask. I'll ask this woman over here. Hey, Karen. I mean, ma'am. Yeah, yeah.
Scuba Steve
And it was a great little connection. It was a cute moment.
Morgan
So I'll remember you forever now, too. Like, oh, I remember that one. Valentine's Day. Da, da, da.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. It was like, I could have been so. I could have been so mean and been like, I'm single on Valentine's year, Putting together my boobs.
Morgan
Hate this holiday.
Scuba Steve
This is stupid. But I instead was like, this guy is so cute, and I want to help him. And we're all just buying flowers.
Morgan
Oh, yeah. Plus by helping him. And also, you know that the effect that's gonna have on his day when he goes home. And then if he would have done it, it could have been this, like, absolute s show. It could have had. She's like, you don't have the da, da, da. And he's like, I don't know. But because you Guys were there to help guide him. She's gonna go, wow, you did a really good job. And he may either A, give you credit or B, go, yeah, I know. I sure did.
Scuba Steve
I hope he took every bit of.
Morgan
Credit, which is awesome, though he totally should, though.
Scuba Steve
He should, because he was putting in the effort and work. I was just a little blip on the. On the helping radar.
Morgan
You, like, helped his gut or maybe reaffirmed something he was thinking. And, like, I'm not sure if I should have this. But then when you said it, he's like, oh, yeah, if she's saying it, then it's gotta be it. Okay, cool.
Scuba Steve
It was such a cute moment. So cool. Little, like, faith in humanity restored moments.
Morgan
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Scuba Steve
I want to, like, go through some quick. We'll do some, like, spitfire questions, and then I want one final, like, reaction on something that's happening.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Okay. New country artists that you're obsessed with.
Morgan
Currently, I would say. I like this one dude. His name is Redfin.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, Redferen.
Morgan
Redferen. Sorry. God dang it. Redfin. Redfern.
Scuba Steve
Redfin is a, you know, a thing. But, yes, that's probably.
Morgan
Oh, yes. That's why. What's funny? Because I could see in my head, I could see the logo, like, the red logo. And so I even read in my eyes, which I. When I close my eyes, I have this, like, weird. Where I can see things. I'm sure you probably do that too.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Where, like, you see it vividly. And I'm like, oh, Redfin. Oh, no. Red Farron. Redfin.
Scuba Steve
Jack and Duh.
Morgan
Yes. Yeah. He has another new song that just came out. You may have heard it. It's relatively new. I'll pull it up as we're talking about it. But I liked him. When we first met him, we were at member CMAs.
Scuba Steve
We were doing interviews, and I was excited to meet him because I had already heard some of his songs.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
That was my first interaction in person with him. But I loved him. I was like, dude, I love your stuff. He's like, wait, really? I was like, yeah, I listen to your music.
Morgan
You listen to me. He's so, like, genuine and so, like, salt of the ear. Like, just a very normal dude from Tennessee. But I had never heard of him. I had no idea who he was. I knew nothing about him. It wasn't on my radar until that CMA moment. I just saw his name and I'm like, who's Red Faren? And I was like, I don't know. I've Never heard of it. I'm like, well, let's see what happens. I was thinking maybe it's a group or something. I was. I just wasn't sure.
Scuba Steve
Could be any number of things.
Morgan
Had no idea. And I kind of love going into something not knowing what it is or what's happening or what's. What it's going to be, because then there's no expectation. And I think no matter what then. And it's gonna be fun. I think it's gonna be so awesome. And he came in and his energy was this, like, this really, really, really cool dude. And I was like, man, this guy's awesome. I want him to win, I want him to succeed. I want him to be like the next big thing because he's just so freaking cool. And I think people will love his music. The song I got it and I found it. It's called Just Like Johnny.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah, good one.
Morgan
Yeah. And so it's like his homage to Johnny Cash, which I guess he's a big fan of Johnny Cash, and that's one of his influences. And so it's like. It has more of like a rock tone to it, but country rock kind of vibe. Awesome.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I'm with you. I love Redferen. He's a good one. I want you to listen to now. Cameron Whitcomb. He's currently my favorite.
Morgan
Cameron Whitcomb.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And I think you could get a taste of, like, pop, country, a little bit of rock. It has a kind of folk. He just has this very unique sound.
Morgan
Cameron with a C or a K?
Scuba Steve
C. Okay. Cameron Whitcomb, he's currently my favorite. And I would say, I think you'll end up liking some of his stuff.
Morgan
Cameron Whitcomb. Whitcomb. Cameron Whitcomb.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Those are our artists. Now.
Morgan
This guy right here, he looks like a MGK kind of style. Tattoos.
Scuba Steve
You would never expect the voice that comes out of him.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Really good.
Morgan
He's hella Young. He's 21 years old. Oh, so he's, like, fresh in the industry.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. So check him out. I think you'll like him.
Morgan
Oh, he's Canadian, too.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Yes. But now we're moving on to our next one.
Morgan
Yeah. Spitfire. Spitfire.
Scuba Steve
We're not doing well. Actor Frankie Muniz. You know who that is?
Morgan
Oh, my God. Yeah. Of course. From Malcolm the Middle.
Scuba Steve
Of course.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
So super popular.
Morgan
Maybe. I don't know. Can you repeat the question? You're not the boss of me now. And I also had. What's his name From Breaking Bad in It. It was his dad. His dad, Walter White.
Scuba Steve
But not the actor that plays Walter White.
Morgan
Yes. Oh, I can't think of his name. His name was Hal in the TV show. How. How he's like, such, like the quintessential dad. And that relationship of him and his wife. Ryan Cranston. Yes. Yes. Frankie Muniz. Yes.
Scuba Steve
Go ahead.
Morgan
Sorry.
Scuba Steve
He's now a NASCAR driver. He just finished his place at Daytona.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
So it had me thinking, if you could switch your career right now to a completely different one. What are you doing? Remember, we are doing rapid fire.
Morgan
Restaurant owner on a beach in Hawaii.
Scuba Steve
Okay. I love that. I would be a woman in stem. I want to go to space. I want to be an astronaut.
Morgan
Oh, nice. Heck, yeah. That's cool with your vertigo.
Scuba Steve
Okay, well, I have to figure that out. Let's not do that.
Morgan
What if all those things they do to you, it counteracts your vertigo and it fixes it and actually by spinning around in 360amillion times a second, actually fixes everything. It stabilizes you and you're like, oh, my God, I now can see better and feel better without gravity and with this, like, whole different pull on my body.
Scuba Steve
I was gonna say more. So if you send me to space, I don't have gravity and then I don't have to worry about it.
Morgan
Exactly. Yeah. True. What if that's, like, your biggest fix? Just leave me here on the moon. I don't give a crap. I don't ever want to go back to that place.
Scuba Steve
You can leave me here forever.
Morgan
Yeah. Leave me in the dark side of the moon with the Pink Floyd album. And I'm good.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Very. Lastly, I want to reaction to this because I loved Build a Bear growing up. Did you ever go to Build a Bear there?
Morgan
That was rich people kid stuff. We didn't go to that. So I loved having so much money growing up.
Scuba Steve
That is not hollow.
Morgan
And a family with a father and a mother. It was just so awesome. Now.
Scuba Steve
Now we're getting to trauma.
Morgan
I love that for you.
Scuba Steve
We're now getting to trauma. All right. Scuba. And this is not the reaction that I was doing anyways.
Morgan
It was so cool. And we also went skiing in the winter.
Scuba Steve
Hey, we would drive to Colorado. Okay. We did not fly on planes. Flying on planes.
Morgan
My dad also built planes, though, at Boeing.
Scuba Steve
Life was awesome without a college degree for a long time.
Morgan
I'm totally kidding. I know. I'm just so. I'm just kidding. No, no. I envy an awesome life. That's why I provide that life for my kids now.
Scuba Steve
Okay, so have you taken your kids to Build a bear?
Morgan
I have not yet, no. No, because we've seen it a million times in the mall, but it's always so crowded. I'm like, I'm not waiting that damn long.
Scuba Steve
You know how cute it is to speak into the heart and kiss it and then stuff it in the little stuffy.
Morgan
They had Build a Bear stuff because my wife used to work at Universal, and they would have. She worked for the head. She work the president, like, product development, like toys for movies and TV shows. She'd always come back with these prototypes and stuff. And so we have two Build a Bear prototypes. One of. I forget who it is, but one's Toothless from How to Train youn Dragon.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
So we have Build a Bears, but we've never actually done the whole process or experience of doing it.
Scuba Steve
Okay, well, just so you know, they now have After Dark Teddy bears made.
Morgan
For adults, like, for you to, like, have sex with.
Scuba Steve
No, Scuba, don't go so hard. After Dark Teddy bears After Dark, meaning, like, they. They drink alcohol and they party and they. Adult teddy bears.
Morgan
Gotcha. Gotcha.
Scuba Steve
So they're Build a Bear After Dark.
Morgan
I love that. For whoever wants that.
Scuba Steve
Okay. All right, we're leaving. Scuba's now roasting me and my brain can't even.
Morgan
So cool for you.
Scuba Steve
This might be our shortest, best vids ever. Mostly because we're on a time crunch. But, Scuba, thanks for being here.
Morgan
Thank you for having me. I really appreciate it.
Scuba Steve
We're going to jump out of here before I get roasted some more. Bye, everybody.
