So just in time for fourth of July, our friend Freddie, the German tourist who is here for the World cup, he just had the most American experience of all. He got canceled and literally driven off of the Internet. Americana, my friends, is alive and well. Thank you Internet trolls for this update. So since we last spoke about our dear friend Freddie, he and his road trip, his pals that are on this journey going around the United States, North America, they also went to Canada. He has exploded, number one. Probably the most important thing I will tell you in this entire video is that he did make it to Buc EE's. He went to the land of the beaver nuggets and the chopped brisket sandwiches on the board. He got to BUC EE's. That was amazing. He tried even more fast food. I think he went back to Waffle House because it was so good. He spent a night on Bourbon street in New Orleans. And of course, like the rest of America, he fell in love with Ella Langley. He said, the best discovery of our road trip has been a musician called Ella Langley. We had pretty much never heard of her before, but after hearing her on pretty much every country R radio station, we've become big fans. She is basically the soundtrack of our trip. So TL Dr. Freddie and his companions were officially Ella fellas. Now, it was around this time when he was posting about Ella Langley that the national attention started. And obviously he had been blowing up on X and people were talking about him. But this is when the brands and the celebrities really started to swarm. So he went to Houston, Texas, for example, for a World cup match. And when he arrived, he had learned that NFL legend J.J. watt had swooped in to upgrade and pay for his hotel, also fully stocking the room for the German tourists. They had other brands come in, drop off cupcakes and cookies and swag for all of the different teams that they were seeing, all of that kind of stuff. So they were totally flabbergasted, as you can see here on the screen next to me. And then while he was in Houston in this beautiful hotel suite, I think they had been posting about their love of Ella Langley. And she actually reached out to him and she said that if he rerouted his trip through Oklahoma, he could be a special guest at her show that she was doing there that weekend. And. And, boy, did he. He was like, obviously, we're moving the car. We are going to Oklahoma. He said, we're going to an Ella Langley concert on the 18th, and we're even going to meet her. And the entire thing was so wholesome. He was posting videos of himself backstage. They took photos with her. It was all very, very sweet. The Internet was cheering him on. Like, everybody loved this. Ella Langley is beloved. She's incredibly wholesome. Freddie at the time was not controversial, so it was very wholesome. And then on top of that, obviously, because he's here for the World cup, sports, sports teams are interested in him. So teams like the Saints and the Pelicans were inviting Freddie and all of his friends to come tour stadiums and the training facilities. He even got to meet one of his home club, like his home football club legends, who was now playing at a team out of Houston. So that was very cool for him. I'm trying to think of the other things that happened. Gordon Ramsay hooked him up with this, like, luxe hotel in Boston. After days of just staying in motels, he was hosting motos, being like, thank you, Gordon Ramsay. We've been staying in, like, motel sixes for the last four days. This is so amazing. Another thing that happened is that they were doing a little, like, USA intermission and they were going to fly from the United States to Canada to see a match. But as things do these days, the flights got screwed up. So he took to social media being like, oh, we're miss it. This is so upsetting. We paid all this money for these tickets. We were so excited. And literally, the Internet, it was like the Red Sea open. Everybody was like, what do you need, Freddie? We will help you. Like, you had everybody from CEOs of private jet companies to governors of states that he was not even in. Like, the governor of Utah was like, don't worry, Freddie, I will help you and you will come see the beautiful Utah. And Freddie was like, I'm trying to get to Toronto. I don't really need to go to Utah. But anyway, they were all trying to help. Airlines were reaching out to help him. And obviously by help, I mean use him for marketing. I'm sure that they did want to get him to his match because everybody loves Freddie, but they all wanted to be the brand, the organization, the individual that helped this incredibly viral individual. Like, you can see these comments here. American Airlines said, not on our watch, Freddie, check your DMs. Air Canada replied and said, hey, Freddie, let's get you to Toronto. Can you send us a dm? It's like, apparently all we need to do to get responses from airlines is be viral. Like, I wish their customer service was that nice. When I called about my flights being canceled, maybe they would actually help us if they had because most customers out there are not waiting for a callback. Maybe they're trying to book an appointment. Maybe they're looking for a quote. Maybe they just need help right now because their flight got canceled. Whatever it is, if nobody answers, then they are calling the next business on the list. And that is why today's episode is brought to you by my friends over at Quo, spelled Q U O the business phone system built so that you never miss a call. Quo's built in AI agents, handles after hours calls, answers questions, and even books appointments so that you never miss a lead, even when your team is offline and at home. Thanks to my friends over at Fox One. Now Fox One is just $1999 a month and it includes all of your Fox favorites in one place. Yes, you will get the normal 24. 7 news coverage, but you are also getting the biggest sports events and hit TV shows like MasterChef. Farmer Wants a Wife, the Mask Singer and Hell's Kitchen all streaming live on one platform. And honestly, I am such a sucker for reality tv. You guys know Farmer wants a wife alone makes it worth it to me. But Fox one goes way beyond that. Between breaking news, major sporting events like the FIFA World cup, obviously Freddie's watching and the kind of can't miss content that keeps you hooked, it gives you a reason the cable and just rely on them. And the best part is there is a three day free trial so you can try it out, obviously fall in love with it and then move on and enjoy finally having it. So cut the cable and go to fox.com to start streaming anywhere, anytime on your favorite devices. Offer subject to change DEFOX1 for complete terms and conditions. All right, now back to the story. I think by this point you guys are caught up basically. Tldr, what I'm trying to say is that he became commercial in a sense. All of these people were clamoring to get involved with him, support him, work with him, all of the things. And so as he became more viral over the course of the last two and a half weeks, however long it's been since we last spoke about him, obviously his critics grew as well. And there were a lot of people who were just completely certain that Freddie was not organic, that he was not authentic, that this was some sort of plan. They just could not fathom the idea that somebody could blow up so quickly and be receiving all of these invitations and gifts and offers from these huge celebrities and organizations. Like, one person said, this account is so effing fake. Another person said, freddy is not real. He is not a guy from Germany. He is at minimum 15 different people being paid by the US government to post propaganda, which is just so insane that they believe that propaganda is simply having a sense of joy about our country. Going to Ohio, going to South Carolina, going to, you know, southern Alabama, being in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama, seeing the beaches and going, wow, it's so beautiful. They're like propaganda, propaganda. You can't like America. You must be being paid. Like, obviously there is a lot of propaganda in the world. I do not believe that somebody simply appreciating this amazing country is propaganda. But anyway, sorry, getting ahead of myself. Let's continue on. The last comment that I pulled is this person posting this meme and saying, now post some shitty Ohio towns and say how great they are. Obviously alluding to the fact that he is all bought and paid for and trying to convince people that Ohio is great. I don't really think we need to be convinced. Anyway. Now there are so many reasons why this entire criticism, why this theory is absurd. Number one, I have to say to the people who could not believe that this is organic. Is it your first day on the Internet? Like people blow up randomly all the time. You do not have to be a plant to suddenly go viral. Like literally one viral video on TikTok, just something that blows up in an instant. They will have tens of brands, if not hundreds of brands in their comments, all clamoring to be part of the moment. And that one viral video can turn a seemingly normal person who has never really been online into a full fledged influencer if they leverage that energy. I mean, like, this is a terrible example considering what happened. But think of the Hawktua girl that should have just been a random viral moment move on with her life. But she did, for better or for worse leverage that turn it into an entire career. Then she tanked it by doing some like crypto thing. But the point being these viral moments can very quickly turn into long standing creator influencer careers. Like this is not new. I mean think about viral Facebook videos back in 2012. Vines that were blowing up in 2012, 2014. People were ending up on Ellen within 24 hours of those huge $20,000 checks from Shutterfly completely changing their lives. Like the point that I'm trying to make is that this does happen a and also people online. I know that we live in trying confusing times but not everything has to be a psyop. Some things I know, I know crazy. Some things can be organic. I am choosing to believe based on my understanding of this industry and how people blow up, I'm choosing to believe that this is organic. Now in regards to the brand bidding war over Freddie, somebody wrote about this really well and said here is what every brand in those replies understood. An official World cup sponsorship runs into eight figures. Air Canada reached the same global audience with one reply and a gate change. A gate change meaning that Freddie was going to be able to get on his flight and make it to the match in Toronto. A plant optimizes for a sponsor on day one. Freddie optimized for nothing, which is the entire reason he became the most valuable unpaid endorsement of the tournament. You cannot manufacture a man who Sincerely loves Buc EE's. You can only stand next to him and hope that it rubs off. That bidding war was a dozen marketing teams trying to buy proximity to the one thing that none of them can fake and the one thing that they can't fake is authenticity. Authenticity is literally something that brands and organizations spend millions, I'm not kidding, millions of dollars trying to buy and cultivate, gain access to like. They are desperate to have that authenticity because that buys trust with audiences. It puts you in front of audiences in a really unique, meaningful way. They wanted that through Freddie. Now that being said, I do think that this poster hit on another important point and that was when he said, quote, you cannot manufacture a man who Sincerely loves Buc EE's. You can only stand next to him and hope that it rubs off. Which brings me to point two about why people are so pissed about this. And this is something that I talked about in the other video that I made about Freddie and in some tiktoks. But the reason why people have this connection to Freddie and this excitement about him is because he has showed us. He's portrayed this incredibly genuine joy and excitement about very normal American things and places. And that joy has come about after years of Americans being shat on by people abroad, specifically Europeans, and more importantly our own self hating coastal peers. And that joy was just so infectious it could not be ignored and it could not be faked. And so guess what? In response, those same self hating peers of ours were disgusted and confused by this new love that Freddie had for American culture. Or maybe more honestly I should say they were disgusted by American culture and the places that he was visiting and falling in love with and therefore they were unhappy with him and they had to believe that it was simply propaganda. Case in point. Somebody commented and said, why is he waxing poetic about Ohio? Like God forbid somebody loves the state of Ohi. God forbid there's a great sunset that he experienced in a small town in Ohio. Like, well Kelly, sorry, some people, some people that you live amongst actually like and appreciate middle America. Some might even say that it is actually the most America of all of America. Anyway, moving on with the story from there, this is where it gets very predictable but very sad. These same self hating people, they did what all bored angry trolls do in order to fill their soul and feel important. They dedicated themselves to tearing him and his experience, experience down. And yes, you know, they did the normal. They mocked his joyful posts about the sunsets over the small towns in Ohio, the wide open Texas plains, the Baja blast at Taco Bell, whatever he was eating. But the real kicker, and this is the thing that made me want to throw my phone across the room because I cannot believe that we are still doing this. The real kicker was that they gleefully dug into his Internet archive looking for ammunition to use against him. They didn't do that. Honestly, they didn't do that. Just wanting to get to know Freddie. No, they went looking for something that he might have said a few years ago that was problematic so they could wipe him off the face of the Internet because what he was doing was propaganda. It was so awful and they just could not stand for that kind of joy. One guy posted, we got a digital footprint in case this sub human larper starts twerking for usa. Like seriously, you people are scum. I don't even feel bad about saying it because that it's just so true. You are. You see an individual online who gets opportunities and attention that obviously from behind your little anonymous account, your angry anonymous account obviously you are craving those same things. You are resentful that he is spreading joy. And suddenly because of that, he is subhuman and worthy of public humiliation and cancellation. And that's exactly what they did. And you might be wondering, okay, Brett, what is the awful thing that Freddie did? What? You know, out of touch, joke or meme? Did he post? What is it? Did a girl come forward about him? What is happening? What did he do to warrant this cancellation? Well, get ready for this, my friends. They learned that it was not his first time in the usa. Oh my God. Oh my God. Somebody. Somebody sedate me. Oh my God. Revoke his visa, expose it all, get about. I cannot believe it. It's not. I'm not kidding, you guys. There were so many posts being like, he lied, he's been here before. I found a post. He was in Santa Barbara. I mean, you people have genuinely lost the plot. You are so annoying and unintelligent. Who cares? I looked at his post. Nowhere did he brand himself as a first time tourist. This is my first time in America. And genuinely, even if he had, what does it matter? Seriously, I think about my experience being in Hungary. I had been to Hungary before. On vacation with my family, I went to Budapest. And then six years later, I lived in Budapest for three to four months filming the Pendragon cycle, Daily Wire. I traveled around the area, I went on train rides, I took road trips, I went on boat rides. And obviously I learned more about the country out to outside of just this big city that everybody goes to. I fell in love with the country and the countryside and all of the surrounding areas. And it felt like a totally new experience because it was genuinely. You people are so dense. It is not that hard to comprehend. But anyway, that was the first strike against him. But that was not all. Now the next part of his digital footprint was the real kicker. And what do you know, it involved racism, obviously. And this is what he did. Back in 2024, Freddie was in the replies of some posts. He was tweeting back and forth in a thread about the political correctness of white people singing the N word. And this is what he said. He said, I was at some concerts in the usa. Oh my God, he was in the usa. Oh my God again, somebody sedate me. And no one there gave a damn about it. It was just the song lyrics. In rap songs, the lyrics are 50% made up of that word. Then you practically aren't even allowed to sing along anymore. Can you believe he said that? I mean, kick him again. Revoke his visa. Can you believe that? He made that common sense observation. And even worse, that he does not believe in ruining somebody's life over them singing a word that half the population says on a daily basis. Oh my go crazy. That is not all we keep going because he also shared some thoughts on racism and this is really where it got bad. He said racism can be directed towards any racial or ethnic group and whites are definitely a racial group. He's acknowledging that reverse racism, reverse racism as they call it is real now, I'm sorry, liberals, it is just called racism. And yes, it can be directed at white people. And then this really was the final kicker. He posted this around the same time, 2024, and he said, the Olympics have taught me that the Afro Americans are extremely racist. And there you have it. I mean he was done. Literally he was done. And after those tweets were exposed, people started spreading them. They got millions upon millions of views. And he deactivated his entire X account, which you can see right there. And what do you know? Those same people that were digging up the tweets, they gleefully celebrated the fact that he was gone. Those same miserable people from before got that spark of self important dopamine that they were seeking. One man said, freddie, justifying the N word. We got him again. Everything is like about trapping people with things that they have said in the past. We're gonna, we need to use this. We got him. You. You people again. Scum. Seriously scum. Another man said, goodbye, Freddie. No room for racism around here just because you made an observation. Another person commented, this was over on Blue sky and said, obviously it was on Blue Sky. Of course Freddie, the German tourist wanted to scream the N word at concerts. I've never been less surprised by anything in my life. And then another person said, well, so much for that. We just learned that Freddie from Germany tried to justify using the N word. That's disappointing actually, guys. You guys are disappointing. And this is one thing that I want to point out to you guys here. Every single comment that I just read, the people that were digging up things in his past, the people gloating about the fact that he deactivated his account, every single comment was written by a man. Men, not emotional white liberal women freaking out about things. Men, grown adult men who were so triggered by old tweets made by somebody that they do not know who was simply commenting on conversations that were already happening online about race, not engaging in racism, not calling somebody the N word, anything like that, just sharing the things that he had experienced. While watching the Olympics, going to a concert in the. Oh, I was like, he's been here before. All the things. He was simply saying things that he had noticed. And that was enough for you to clutch your pearls and get your lacy panties in a wad. Please grow a pair and get a life. Log off, Jet. For your own good. If you guys are married, for your wife's own sake, because you just seem angry, go touch some grass. Spend some time offline because grown men should not be digging through another man's Internet archive to find something worth canceling him over. You are acting like high school mean girls. Seriously, like cliquey mean girls. It is embarrassing, genuinely. That is my rant about them. But moving on to continue the story, to really close the loop here, like I said, Freddie quickly, unfortunately, deactivated his EX account after it all started. But soon after, he did post an update on his Instagram story, which he's also gained a following over there. And so he said this. He said, hey, everybody, I wanted to let you know why I deactivated my account. Number one, this was the plan all along. Even before we started the World cup trip and he had written in a comment, people were saying, like, freddie, you gotta come back to America, do brand deals, whatever. And he was like, no, the influencer life is not for me. I'm gonna deactivate this account. So it was the plan. He just did it a little early. Number two, he said, too many people seem to have a problem with us having a genuinely good time here in the country, and this is ruining the fun a bit for us because we really just wanted to document our road trip and never expected that people would have a problem with it. And number three, people are digging into my 22,000 posts to find a handful of, in their opinion, controversial posts and make them, without zero context, to make me look like a bad person. And you know what I love so much? And, Freddie, if you're watching this, I want to just say kudos to you. He did not bend the knee, he did not cower and say, let me explain myself. I really meant it this way. He's just saying, in your opinion, you think it's controversial and it's weird that you're doing it. You're looking through 22,000 posts of mine to find something that, in your opinion, is wrong and I'm just not having it. So I'm removing myself from the equation. And I love that. No apology necessary. That is the only way you can deal with these people is just keep your head up. Take it on the chin and keep moving forward. And obviously the noise when people are commenting on you, sending you DMs, whatever it is, it is loud. And if you can't handle it, it is better to literally just deactivate, close the app, delete it. That's what I do when I'm having a tough time. I brick my phone. I love the brick. Put it away. That's my advice. So good for you, Freddie. Anyway, he goes on and he says, also, I've seen that some people are upset that it is not our first time in the usa, which is surprising me because I even replied to somebody at the beginning trip that I have been here before. I can understand that it seemed like that for many because of our reactions to the stuff we saw, which is because we've never been to any of the places we visited before. It was for all of us, our first time in the South. I've only been to the main tourist places like nyc, LA and Vegas. And then he goes on, he has another slide, which, of course, he's playing an Ella Langley song in the background. And he said, don't worry, guys, we're still gonna enjoy our time here and obviously celebrate the Fourth of July. Our route now is Boston to Texas. We can't wait to get back to the South. Just not gonna update Twitter anymore because it's just too toxic over there. Yeah, you are telling me, Freddie. We all know those people are vultures. Sorry you had to learn the hard way. But, you know, I have to say, it is kind of perfect because Freddie did come to America wanting to have an authentic USA experience. He was so excited to experience the real, normal America. And as so many people have now pointed out over on X, unfortunately, he did get the normal experience. Like somebody tweeted and said, freddie got the full American experience. Nationwide road trip through cool cities and exposed to American capitalism when brands tried to take advantage of his exposure. And then eventually forced to delete his account by a bunch of unemployed losers obsessed with playing victim. I mean, that is about as American as apple pie, Freddy. So welcome to the States. Now, the thing that I really love about how this story is continuing is that even though he deleted his account, even though he's been dealing with all these trolls, the road trip continues and it seems like his joy has not been hindered at all. And I wanna say he also made another post on his Instagram story talking about the other detractors who were saying that he was some kind of industry plant, that he was, you know, commercializing his trip and he said, you I've been getting all of these messages from brands. I've been offered like six figures in deals. I have all these people dming and commenting. I have not taken any money, I have not done any sponsorships. He said, I feel so grateful that I was given things. We're so appreciative, but I did not get paid and I'm not going to do any more of that. I just want to enjoy the trip with my friends and the whole thing just got a little big. And to his fans that he has now created everybody that is following along, he wants everybody to know that he's going to continue posting on Instagram, which he has found to be a much more normal, civilized and less toxic place. And I have to say I agree with that. It is my favorite social media platform for a reason. So maybe if we're talking talking about American capitalism and corporatism, maybe the real corporate winner here who's getting the most exposure now is Mark Zuckerberg. So good for you old Mark. Anyway, that is your Freddie update. I personally will be following along to see how our new German friends celebrate the 4th of July and our big 250th birthday. Hopefully it is with lots of burgers and hot dogs and fireworks and no unemployed scum of the earth bottom feeder trolls.

Episode: Freddy the German Tourist Has Officially Been Canceled 🙄
Host: Brett Cooper
Date: July 2, 2026
This episode explores the viral journey of Freddy, a German tourist traveling across North America for the World Cup, and his subsequent "cancellation" on social media. Brett Cooper analyzes why Freddy's wholesome enthusiasm for American culture captured mass attention—only to become the target of internet trolls, conspiracy theorists, and cancel culture. Through commentary and examples, the episode critiques the current digital landscape, generational attitudes toward authenticity, and the paradoxes of modern internet fame.
Brett Cooper’s episode is a pointed, passionate analysis of how genuine positivity and curiosity—like Freddy’s—can attract both adulation and vitriol in the digital age. She warns about the perils of viral fame, internet cynicism, and our society’s rush to judgement, ultimately encouraging authenticity and resilience. Freddy’s journey, with its high-profile moments and abrupt social media exit, is used as both a cautionary tale and a call to celebrate real, imperfect joy—even when the world tries to tear it down.
