Man, Same, man.
Andrew Schultz
I really missed you.
Charlamagne Tha God
We was in the Hamptons.
Andrew Schultz
I was. Was filming that movie in la.
Charlamagne Tha God
You look younger, bro. So they shaved me up that GP one. What's it called?
Andrew Schultz
No, it's called no mustache.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, bro.
Chris Moreau
It's something else.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, bro.
Andrew Schultz
I swear to God, you look like.
Charlamagne Tha God
You look like they did the. What's that CGI age on you? And it stuck.
Andrew Schultz
That.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, bro.
Heather Kai Walker
Thank you, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
You like guy Cold show.
Andrew Schultz
Let's go. Okay, y'.
Heather Kai Walker
All.
Andrew Schultz
For letting me keep the mustache on it. Aging me 10 years.
Charlamagne Tha God
You didn't realize how you looked until you cut it off.
Andrew Schultz
I cut it off and I look 10 years younger. I couldn't believe it.
Charlamagne Tha God
What'd your wife say?
Andrew Schultz
She kind of likes the mustache. But I think now, like, you know, I'm the young one.
Charlamagne Tha God
She trying to keep you from looking like your younger days?
Andrew Schultz
He's trying to keep me humble this whole time with that mustache. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I might grow back. Who Knows. But yeah, the movie wants me clean shaven so I could be in a coach. And I'm like, don't they look like I Don't coaches have mustaches? Isn't that the depends.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, what kind of coach are you? Young coach, older coach.
Andrew Schultz
Great point.
Charlamagne Tha God
How old are you in the movie?
Andrew Schultz
I would say about my age. I have three kids.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, yeah. Young coach, trying to figure it out. Then you went to the Hamptons, then
Andrew Schultz
I was out in the Hamptons waiting for you.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'll be there in a couple of weeks waiting for you. I was home. I was home. I was home in Anguilla, man. You know?
Andrew Schultz
You took a picture of it. The. The. The guy who cut my hair on the. On the movie has got family in Anguilla. And he came to me, he's like, yo, I got a question for you about Charlamagne. I'm like, what's up? He's like, why are his nipples so big?
Charlamagne Tha God
What? What?
Andrew Schultz
He showed me a picture that like, his aunt or somebody took with you. And one of your titties is mad.
Charlamagne Tha God
I would. Massive problem. I know I had a shirt on.
Andrew Schultz
You're in a white shirt, and that shit is huge. Popping through, like with his aunt. Say again?
Charlamagne Tha God
With his aunt.
Andrew Schultz
I think it was his aunt or his cousin or something.
Charlamagne Tha God
Is he black?
Andrew Schultz
Black guy? Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on now. Let me show you. See if this is it. Let me see if this is it, man.
Andrew Schultz
Maybe it's his cousin.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know. Did he show you the picture?
Andrew Schultz
Yo, he faded my hair, first of all. They cut my hair and they did it. Nah, if your nipple was big as shit in that one, too. This one was like, on the beach.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't miss a pec day, baby. Yeah, okay. I don't miss a pec day, baby. Okay. Damn. For real?
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
This was. This trip.
Andrew Schultz
This one. I was just out.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, he said I took a picture this time.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, wow. I mean, I was there for 10 days for probably Anguilla's home, bro. Like, I love. That's home, man.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Home, home, home.
Andrew Schultz
That's hilarious. Chris typed in Charlemagne in the. Look at the amber. Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
What are we doing? Where are we starting, Guys?
Andrew Schultz
How was. How was Anguilla, man?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, my God. I mean, listen, you know what's so funny? I usually feel bad when I have to leave, but I felt so fulfilled this time. But also because, like, that's really home.
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schultz
Skin looks great.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know, out in the sun, but it's really home and, you know, like, that's a place. I'm gonna. I'm gonna put roots one day.
Andrew Schultz
Really?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, I already told you. That's why I'm retiring. I'm retiring.
Andrew Schultz
And you're gonna live full time there at some point. Island life. Full time, I think is tough. Nah, I think it's tough once you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not part of me.
Andrew Schultz
You think?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, it's. That's my. That's what I want. To wake up out of water every day.
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, you know, it was just a peace of mind. It reminds me of growing up in like Monks Corner, South Carolina.
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know, things were, you know, slow and easy.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I mean? Like. Yes, I'd love to live on the island.
Chris Moreau
Really?
Andrew Schultz
You don't get stir crazy there? Your brain?
Charlamagne Tha God
Hell, no.
Andrew Schultz
God bless you, bro.
Chris Moreau
What, you could do three months, guys.
Charlamagne Tha God
Could I do three months? Yes, absolutely.
Andrew Schultz
God bless you.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's the best thing in the world. I mean, listen, I want to shoot
Andrew Schultz
myself in the fucking head.
Charlamagne Tha God
You meet people out there, right? Like, I met a woman out there this week and she. She's been living there for 15 years, but she's from Connecticut, so she still got her place in Connecticut. So she lives out there. She comes home every now and then, and then she goes back.
Andrew Schultz
That's cool.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, it would be the same.
Andrew Schultz
That little back and forth vibe, I think is cool.
Heather Kai Walker
Same thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
But I. I love it. I love doing nothing. I would. I would still be there right now if I didn't have to come back and do Breakfast Club.
Andrew Schultz
If you do the whole summer there, no problem.
Charlamagne Tha God
Easy call. Really easy call.
Andrew Schultz
And how's weather in the summer?
Chris Moreau
That's my concern, too.
Andrew Schultz
Does it get too hot?
Charlamagne Tha God
Look at my tent. What do you mean? Yeah, it's like 80 degrees, 90 degree. There's nothing. What do you like? It's so.
Andrew Schultz
Is it warm?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's hotter here.
Andrew Schultz
Is it hotter in Miami than it is in.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't. I haven't been to Miami, so. I don't know Anguilla, but it's like 80, 90 degrees. Maybe. Maybe 100 sometime. But you're by the water.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but Miami becomes uninhabitable once you get into July.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause it's too many people, probably.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, it's just the weather is crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Angola, look. What's that? Anguilla. Right now, look.
Andrew Schultz
84.
Charlamagne Tha God
Beautiful. 84.
Andrew Schultz
Give it to me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Humidity's 71.
Andrew Schultz
Give it to me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Precipitation 14%. Going out there in that cold, blue water. Man, drink some rum punch. Life is good, man. Life is good. Listen, the only thing that brought me home this week was the. Of course, the work, but Jay Z at Yankee Stadium this weekend.
Andrew Schultz
Are you going all three days?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't. I'm. I'm definitely going on Friday. Okay, Friday, Friday I got. I got the company sweep.
Andrew Schultz
And then is it Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
Charlamagne Tha God
Saturday and Sunday, it's reasonable dial Friday, It's Blueprint Saturday, and then it's extra innings on Sunday. So I'm definitely going Friday, though. I gotta go see. I gotta see him do a reasonable doubt. I wanna see him. I wanna see the blueprint on Saturday, too. I just don't know if I'm gonna feel like going out two days in a row.
Andrew Schultz
Question?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Are you prepared for him to just do Reasonable Doubt? And if that's the case, do you think that you'll miss hearing some of his, like, more prolific hits?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I won't. I think that's. Specialty concerts are great. Like when somebody says, I'm only going to do this album, like, if you remember where you were when you first heard that album. The nostalgia of it is amazing. And it's one of those classic albums from top to bottom. Like, every song resonates. Every song means something in some way. And sometimes it's not even about the music. Right. It's about the story. It's 30 years of his first album that laid the foundation for everything.
Andrew Schultz
It's unbelievable.
Charlamagne Tha God
So we know what it probably means to him. So being that it means so much to him, that just means the show is gonna be.
Andrew Schultz
Well, yeah. And obviously he's gonna have attention to detail and all these things. I remember I saw Travis Scott. I think it was in Boston or something like that. And afterwards, I got.
Charlamagne Tha God
We can't compare Travis Scott to.
Andrew Schultz
Let me just say there's a point to what I'm saying. And I saw the show, and I was like, yeah, the show is great. And I went up to. And I was like, hey, man, the. You know, a lot of times there's certain music, you know, that for whatever reason, when you watch it in concert, especially in, like, an arena this size, it just doesn't translate. The musical experience isn't there, especially if you're not having live instruments and some of these other things, they're, like, really, like, kind of exciting. I think one of the smart things Jay did earlier his career was, like, the Rock Nation Orchestra. Do you remember that? Having the live instruments build the rooms, Was that the roots?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
So, like, the live instrumentation like, changed something. Like, it was. And I. I listen. So I asked him about it, and he's like, you know, it's interesting. It's like, when I'm making the music, Travis said, I'm making it for this.
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Like, I think.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, Arena. Arena style.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. I think about the live show when I'm making the music, and that's why it fits this space so much. Where some artists, you could see it, they get into these big venues and, like, it kind of falls flat for whatever reason, even though when you're riding in your car by yourself, you're like, this is amazing. And so that's why I ask with this. Like, that's an album made before. Jay was ever doing huge venues before,
Charlamagne Tha God
but he knows how to do huge venues now, of course.
Andrew Schultz
So what I'm wondering is, what is he gonna do creatively to fill that space?
Charlamagne Tha God
I can't wait to see.
Andrew Schultz
Is it live instrumentation? Is it.
Charlamagne Tha God
I can't wait to see. And let's also not forget, the nostalgia fills this space. This is our Metallica now.
Andrew Schultz
No, no, completely.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is our AC DC now. This is our Rolling Stone.
Andrew Schultz
But you get what I'm saying? Absolute. And I'm sure, obviously they have a lot of experience doing these concerts, but, like, I imagine the people throwing it at him creatively are like, okay, we're at Yankee Stadium. This is a massive venue. We need to make the person on the. The highest seat feel connected to this show.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let me. Let me. Let me. Let me. Saw what I saw in the. In the company group text today. I saw it. Said, this is gonna be the best show Jay has ever done in his life. Wait till you guys see.
Andrew Schultz
Wow.
Heather Kai Walker
Wow.
Andrew Schultz
So they're probably already preparing.
Charlamagne Tha God
And, like, he prepared for what, two, three weeks for the Roots picnic.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, wow.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, he's been in New York for weeks now. Like, we was at the Pop up before I left for vacation. So it's like, yes, they in there getting it in. Like, they was posting pictures today, you know, showing him and Emory going through the set list and everything. This is a guy who's been doing it for 30 years, guys. Like, he knows how to put on a great show. Done it all around the world. That's what I'm saying. I get caught up in the production of things nowadays.
Andrew Schultz
Dude, I remember you went to that play. Not even play was a musical.
Charlamagne Tha God
Which one?
Andrew Schultz
You went and saw Stranger Things.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, my God.
Andrew Schultz
And you were like. The production was fantastic on the.
Charlamagne Tha God
Unbelievable. Yeah, like, unbelievable. You know, so funny you brought that Up. I saw Cardi B was talking this week, she performed. Where did Cardi perform this week? And she was saying, world Cup. Was it the World Cup? It was somewhere. It was some big arena, our stadium. And she was just like, yo. I felt like it was too big. Like they couldn't. Like, they couldn't even hear me. So she was like, I gotta get. I gotta focus on knowing how to play these type of venues. I just saw her say this recently. Was it Essence Fest? Oh, yeah, she was at Essence Fest.
Heather Kai Walker
I noticed that yesterday when I was performing, I kept screaming. And that's because I really felt like I couldn't. I felt like y' all couldn't hear me. Like, performing in a stadium is definitely different than performing in the arena, honey. But that's gonna be my goal. I'm gonna make that as a goal. One of my goals is to have a show, a Cardi B show, a real Cardi B show at a stadium. I don't know if I could do it, but I definitely see the difference. Like, God damn. I felt like nobody could hear me. Everything was echoing. But next time I ever perform in a stadium, I know the trick.
Charlamagne Tha God
And they were in the. The Superdome, I think.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, the. Was it New Orleans?
Chris Moreau
It's got to be crazy in that building.
Charlamagne Tha God
And especially if you're not used to. If you're not used to performing in that kind of venue, to your point, you got to know how to fill up. You know, that type of venue. I just saw her talking about this the other day.
Andrew Schultz
But that's an honest. That's an honest conversation. Cause as a performer, that's something you gotta consider.
Charlamagne Tha God
It was audio when she was talking about it. But, yeah, man, I'm just like, I'm into the production. I can't wait to go see the production of it all, you know? That's what I can't wait for. Yeah, that's what I'm intrigued by.
Andrew Schultz
I'd be curious if he doesn't play anything else.
Chris Moreau
I think you brought up a good point, though. Cause I was actually at an outdoor. It was a dance hall party, but they did a quick hip hop set, and the DJ dropped. I think it was psa and the. And this is a dancehall crowd. People went, fucking.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but that.
Chris Moreau
But that sound. That intro is so.
Andrew Schultz
That's one of the greatest intros. Just wait.
Chris Moreau
Yes, but I'm saying, is there a track like that on Reasonable Doubt? That when you hear the opening bars,
Charlamagne Tha God
it's just like, yes, can I live? He was like, Yo, I invited y' all to something epic fell. You know. The first line is on why I'm watching all these. Watching me closely. Watching me closely. My is like that is going to ring off at Yankee Stadium.
Andrew Schultz
Nothing hits like even the start.
Charlamagne Tha God
The heartbeat. Yeah, the heartbeat with I think knock the hustle ring off in Yankee Stadium. Bringing Mary J. Blige out to do that. It's going to be great. It's going to be phenomenal, guys. You know what I mean? I can't wait. I can't wait. What else, Chelsea? What else happened, man?
Andrew Schultz
Um, in the world have you watched? I mean, the Knicks one. We haven't even had a conversation since. Damn.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's been that long.
Andrew Schultz
Champions of the world.
Charlamagne Tha God
Get the fuck outta here.
Andrew Schultz
Yes, sir.
Charlamagne Tha God
Never seen anything like it in New York City, man.
Andrew Schultz
How beautiful.
Charlamagne Tha God
I've never seen anything like it. New York is absolutely a basketball town.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, there's only one sport we all care about.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think. I honestly don't think anyone sports franchise have to win another championship for a
Andrew Schultz
long time in New York.
Charlamagne Tha God
In New York, period. Now Yankees, y', all. A couple of Yankees, A Yankee World Series might be cool, but that shit can't get to the levels of New York. People lost their job. Did you see the big heavyset girl, 40 years old, lost her job at JP Morgan because she stole a New York Knicks trash can, bro.
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah.
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
That was a little bit. That was a little bit crazy. They were waiting to fire her, though. She was like a da Di looking for any.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why did that have to happen?
Andrew Schultz
I know they.
Charlamagne Tha God
I thought the same. She did what I was like, they
Andrew Schultz
feel her ass out of here.
Charlamagne Tha God
They've been waiting to get rid of this department for.
Andrew Schultz
So we can't have thieves around here.
Charlamagne Tha God
And she was the head of it.
Andrew Schultz
I know.
Charlamagne Tha God
So not only did they fire her, they probably got rid of the whole department. And nobody's going to say what. J.P. morgan executive, man.
Andrew Schultz
Dumb move. Dumb move. But also, you got to grab that trash can. That trash can is fire.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I do find interesting about what's going on right now? How the New York Knicks have shaken up the whole NBA.
Andrew Schultz
Well, before we get to that can, I just tell you, I didn't realize. I always knew that we were trash, but New York Knicks, we have this, like. We have this delusional confidence every year, like we think we're going to win every year. Every year. The beginning of the season, we truly believe we're going to win. But I didn't realize how ass everyone else thinks we are because people are happy for us.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, it's not because they dug y' all trash.
Chris Moreau
Not everyone's happy.
Charlamagne Tha God
But continue. I like this, but continue.
Andrew Schultz
I was walking into restaurants in California. I would go eat at this restaurant in Ventura, and I'd have my nick hat on. I'd be. And people would be like, oh, let's go, Knicks. I'd be like, oh, you from New York? My first thing is like, if you room for the Knicks, you must be from New York. You moved out here. They're like, no. They're like, no, I'm just excited you guys won. I was like, why are you happy you won? And they're like, oh, it's just been a while, right? I was like, damn, are we that team? Are we that team?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's true. But you also still gotta remember it's New York City, and as much as people give New York shit, people like to see New York on top. Nobody, the world. The world feels like a better place when New York has its proper place in the ecosystem.
Andrew Schultz
I could not agree with you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, Taylor, gang.
Andrew Schultz
Hi, Taylor. I think. I genuinely think, like, America works better when New York and Los Angeles and maybe now Atlanta.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I think, no disrespect to any of those other cities, it's New York.
Andrew Schultz
Let me get it all out.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
These places are there for your hopes and dreams, and America runs on hope. So if you think you have no hope to make it in New York and no hope to make it in LA and a hope to make it in Atlanta, maybe no hope to make it in Miami, you're like, well, what the fuck am I suffering for? I got no health care.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's a good point.
Andrew Schultz
I got none of this other shit. I might as well live up in, you know, Canada. I'm going to live in Europe, where I can get all these other things. I'm sacrificing all that because I might be a fucking billionaire one day. If I move to LA or New York, I'll become a star.
Charlamagne Tha God
All about fueling that dream.
Andrew Schultz
It's dream.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't care about the cost of living.
Andrew Schultz
No, because I don't have to worry about it once I'm a billionaire.
Charlamagne Tha God
If the cost of living attracted you, you'd have been moving to South Carolina a long time ago. It's the dream.
Andrew Schultz
I want to go to New York.
Charlamagne Tha God
I want to go to la. I get what you're saying.
Andrew Schultz
US Needs it. We need hope destinations. We need a place. Because I imagine it's everybody's dream when they're, you know, teenager in their twenties, to live in New York for a few years, live in LA for a few years, get after it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Atlanta, you're right, Atlanta.
Andrew Schultz
Atlanta as well has turned into it. So you need it. And like, I think this was that. That injection of positivity where people were like, oh, shit, it's like that out there.
Charlamagne Tha God
And the Knicks, this version of the Knicks. And to the point of them not. I'm thinking about it now, to the point of them not winning in 52 years. That underdog story. You know what I mean? Cause it wasn't like they were the favorites to win the NBA championship at the start of the year. That underdog story. That underdog story. And for them to win a championship, Jalen Brunson being a undersized guard, people saying a small guard could never do it.
Andrew Schultz
This is the New York spirit.
Charlamagne Tha God
Now can we have a conversation? And people won't call us xenophobic. Now do you understand why it matters when an American is considered the best player?
Andrew Schultz
People call it xenophobic.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, there was a whole fucking video. Somebody redid a whole video. Us, they said Charlamagne. Xenophobic rant on Victor Wimbiana.
Andrew Schultz
But yeah, we are.
Charlamagne Tha God
They did it from brilliant names. I didn't even consider it xenophobic. I was just saying a foreign plique. No.
Andrew Schultz
Can we be xenophobic?
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, not. Not in basketball. I mean, no, we can't. They can't lay. We can't accept the label.
Andrew Schultz
No, but follow me. We're not hating. This is progress. We're not hating him because he's black. In America, that's a upgrade.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on now. What's xenophobia exactly?
Andrew Schultz
Isn't that where you just hate.
Charlamagne Tha God
You just said black. What is it?
Andrew Schultz
That's what I'm saying. Black is racism. Xenophobia is another country.
Charlamagne Tha God
Immigrants, right?
Andrew Schultz
No, I thought.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I thought immigrants.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, I thought xenophobia is just like all the other.
Charlamagne Tha God
I thought phobia. Yes.
Andrew Schultz
You know, that's the Olympics celebration of xenophobia once every four years, right? That's the World Cup. It's a celebration of xenophobia once every four years. Why can't. When we do it.
Charlamagne Tha God
When we do it, the mother country. Cause I'm down for my country. The mother country. Because I'm down for my country. What is it? What is xenophobia exactly?
Heather Kai Walker
What's the definition, fair, dislike or hatred of people perceived to be foreigners, strangers or outsiders?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, that way. I just think Wimby can't be the face of basketball. I don't even. That. That's too much.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, first of all, too much.
Charlamagne Tha God
You put too much.
Andrew Schultz
If we've learned anything about America from the World cup is we love other cultures. We love them coming here. We love sharing our country with them. We love the experiences that they have here. As long as they. As long as they go home.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't even like soccer like this.
Andrew Schultz
But you haven't fallen in love with the different people that have come here and shared that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm gonna be honest with you. I didn't even know that most of these countries had teams, bro. Like, they be naming certain countries, and
Andrew Schultz
you'd be like, we need some AC in here. I've already been hot. I realize it's been a few weeks. I've gotten how this works. I'm getting back in the floating. You didn't know the other countries have soccer teams. That's all they got.
Charlamagne Tha God
But they talk about some of these countries like, they're so bad and so third World, and. And I'm like, y' all can't afford to have a soccer team.
Andrew Schultz
A soccer. Soccer is the cheapest sport, bro. It's literally all.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm learning. I'm learning, I'm learning. I didn't.
Andrew Schultz
They can't afford to play American football.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm learning. Yo, I thought it was. You know what's so funny? That used to be basketball, but now basketball's so expensive to, like, really try to get your kid to the fucking pros.
Andrew Schultz
Not even that. You gotta make a basketball hoop. That's expensive.
Charlamagne Tha God
It used to be a fucking beach basket.
Andrew Schultz
How much?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, nobody wants down there. But too good for the peach basket. How much is the fucking peach?
Andrew Schultz
How much are peaches?
Charlamagne Tha God
Bro, you don't even make these baskets no more because they growing them shit in labs also. God damn.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, it's like that. Welcome.
Charlamagne Tha God
But all jokes aside, there's certain countries you hear, and you'd be like, damn, they got a team.
Andrew Schultz
Like what? Say it. Say, you xenophobic piece of shit.
Heather Kai Walker
Yo.
Andrew Schultz
You're so xenophobic.
Chris Moreau
Algeria.
Andrew Schultz
Whoever made that video, you were right. You were right, bro. This guy hates foreigners. Say why you said Algeria.
Chris Moreau
I just don't know enough about the country.
Andrew Schultz
Isn't one of the greatest soccer players in history from Algeria?
Charlamagne Tha God
I wouldn't know.
Chris Moreau
I don't know.
Andrew Schultz
Where is it? Cape Verde.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cape Verde? Oh, my God. Cape Verde. I thought that was. I thought that shit was in Boston. I just realized. I didn't realize there are A lot
Chris Moreau
of Cape Verdeans in Boston. I know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I was confused. I was like, wait a minute.
Andrew Schultz
That's a whole shout out. Cape Verde and Vozinho, like, you guys did it.
Chris Moreau
Panama, Panama.
Andrew Schultz
Gotta have it.
Charlamagne Tha God
I thought Panama Jack was just a person that used to be on shirts back in the day.
Andrew Schultz
Listen.
Charlamagne Tha God
And I thought that shit was in Florida. I did not know that that shit was a whole country.
Andrew Schultz
We're Americans. It's like we're gonna learn a lot about. A lot of people assume that that's the. Panama's just a canal.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm learning a lot of this shit from the World cup and from being on Netflix, bro. Cause you know when they say it's 100 plus countries, start looking, start figuring
Andrew Schultz
out what they are.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, who the fuck?
Andrew Schultz
So what's your favorite new country? You lear
Charlamagne Tha God
none of them when you want me? I don't have none.
Chris Moreau
No.
Andrew Schultz
I didn't realize. How xenophobic, by the way. Yo, he's so xenophobic. That is crazy, dude.
Heather Kai Walker
Five to $80. What's happening where you are? A peach basket is five to $80.
Andrew Schultz
It's between five and $80. Damn. Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nobody playing no basketball. No 80 peach basket, $80. That's equal crazy.
Andrew Schultz
That's fancy.
Charlamagne Tha God
But I'm just saying there's a lot of teams I didn't know had soccer teams, okay? And it just goes back to my original point there, and maybe it's the America of it all. There's just something about when an American player is the best player in the world in basketball.
Andrew Schultz
Why is that not. Why is that crazy? I have no idea.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why is that? Why is that controversial?
Andrew Schultz
Nobody trying to watch some guy doing yoga on the fucking sidelines, bro. We want an American.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think right now, in this moment, in this moment, right now, Jalen Brunson is probably the face of the NBA, and the Knicks are the team of the NBA.
Chris Moreau
Okay, first of all, got your first name, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
What?
Chris Moreau
Jalen.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, wait.
Andrew Schultz
Don't even start. Don't even start with this. You're derailing, you're derailing, you're derailing.
Chris Moreau
I would say Jalen Brunson, first name is.
Charlamagne Tha God
I see what the NBA is trying to do, though. NBA is like, yo, man, you saw what the Knicks doing, you know, by winning the NBA championship did for the league. Like, you know, look at the ratings. Look how people are energized all over the world. They're probably thinking, oh, what's the next great American city? We can.
Chris Moreau
250th anniversary birthplace of liberty.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's where all that's jail. Jalen got sent there for nothing. Now they Talking about potentially LeBron, LeBron
Chris Moreau
at the 4, making the cipher complete.
Andrew Schultz
Nobody can shoot. Nobody can shoot Joel.
Chris Moreau
Bj.
Andrew Schultz
Nobody can shoot Jalen Brown. We're squashing you guys.
Charlamagne Tha God
Maxi.
Andrew Schultz
We are absolutely slapping you guys up in the playoffs if you come with that ass team.
Charlamagne Tha God
Even with LeBron, Philly don't stand a good.
Andrew Schultz
You guys can't shoot. You got to shoot threes.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know why? You got a foreigner you can't count on.
Andrew Schultz
That's a fact.
Charlamagne Tha God
18 to be xenophobic. I hope that's not considered big Z. I'm just saying, you got a foreign big Z. Count on Chris.
Andrew Schultz
Who's the foreigner?
Charlamagne Tha God
Joel Embiid.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, yeah. Guy's gonna play 22 games.
Charlamagne Tha God
Come on, Chris. By the way, Joel, you tell me right now, Joel Embiid's gonna be healthy all throughout the regular season and all through the playoffs and all through the finals. I'll be like, okay, all right. He might can do something with that squad even without LeBron. But if Joel can't stay healthy, eh, Nah, not happening.
Andrew Schultz
It's really not happening. Nick's first of all. Knicks best team league. Obviously, we know that, but Jalen Brunson is the best player in the league
Charlamagne Tha God
face of the NBA.
Andrew Schultz
Tell me why he's not the best
Charlamagne Tha God
player in the league face of the NBA.
Heather Kai Walker
So y' all think y' all gonna do it again next year?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Come on. Let's just stay. Let's stay focused.
Andrew Schultz
This is joining, but we can stay right here. So tell me, who's the best player in the league, if not Jalen Fox tied with Jokic.
Chris Moreau
They've each won one championship. They're players who play under control. They're players who dominate the game at their own speed. I'm going to put him on that level right now. Now, if he were to win second, it's going to be much tougher with the emergence of Philly, but if he were to win a second, you know
Charlamagne Tha God
why Jaylen's the best player in the league? Because he's five nine.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, go on that.
Charlamagne Tha God
When you're short, you're not expected to do anything. In the NBA when you're considered an undersized guard. Think about how they talk shit. They literally said, you cannot win an NBA championship with an undersized guard. Even though Isaiah Thomas showed you that they could. Even though Steph Curry showed you that they could. Why? When it came to Jalen Brunson, you can't. And I'm going to tell you something else that makes Jalen Brunson the best player in the league. I was born in 1978. I am 48 years old.
Andrew Schultz
Damn.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's only two people that I used to watch, and when they were on the court, no matter what the score was, no matter what the score was, no matter how much they were down, you're like, you know what? They gonna find a way to pull it out. That was Michael Jeffrey Jordan and Kobe. Jelly Bean Bryant. Okay.
Chris Moreau
And Larry Bird.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, why not?
Chris Moreau
Why no despise the man. I had nightmares about the man. But crunch time.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't remember that.
Chris Moreau
The bucket every time.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't remember that. I don't remember that. Not like Michael and Kobe, bro.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but it's because you don't want to remember.
Charlamagne Tha God
I just don't remember.
Andrew Schultz
You don't want to.
Chris Moreau
Y' all don't remember either. Not as much as Michael. More than Kobe. If I'm being completely.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not more than Kobe.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
More than Kobe. Nah. Not more than Kobe.
Andrew Schultz
More than Kobe?
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah. More than how? More than Kobe? All I'm saying is Jalen Brunson.
Andrew Schultz
Can you name any of Larry Bird's teammates?
Heather Kai Walker
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Name him.
Charlamagne Tha God
Robert Parrish, Dennis Johnson, Kevin McHale.
Andrew Schultz
All right.
Chris Moreau
What? All right.
Andrew Schultz
That was good. Honestly, I thought he was going to get DJ Maybe.
Charlamagne Tha God
What you.
Andrew Schultz
But when you hit me with Robert Parrish, I was like, this is maybe the bad way to. This was maybe a bad line of questions.
Chris Moreau
Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
I started with the black ones on purpose.
Chris Moreau
I thought some Danny Ainge in there.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know Danny Ainge? Yeah, Danny, Bill Walton.
Andrew Schultz
Another Colt. Another Colt.
Heather Kai Walker
Wow.
Andrew Schultz
So you tell me you don't know Larry Bird, but you know every one of his teammates?
Charlamagne Tha God
I know. Listen, Larry Bird, I'm just simply saying, he didn't do it like Michael and Kobe, bro.
Chris Moreau
Less than Michael, more than Kobe.
Andrew Schultz
No, he was the cold. He might be the coldest white boy in the in history.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I watched the video. I watched the video of him the other day, and I thought, that's who they are.
Andrew Schultz
No, it's like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm not even bull. He's like, they sped this shit up,
Andrew Schultz
and I think he's number two in assist for Boston. Nobody even thinks about that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Number two in assist.
Andrew Schultz
Like, you don't think of him as a passing big, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, Larry was beat. Larry was incredible.
Andrew Schultz
Pass, sir.
Charlamagne Tha God
Larry was a beast. I'm just simply saying when I saw him on the court, I, I, I thought Larry could be beat. Michael and Kobe always gave me that, yo, you're not going to beat him. They gonna find a way to win. Jalen did that for me, bro. He. Especially in this playoff. Like, especially in this playoff. Game five. Cause I, I said Nixon six. Game five. I'm like, yeah, he's not gonna do it tonight.
Andrew Schultz
We were there.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm like, he's not going to do it tonight. They gonna win. They not gonna find a way to pull this one out. He found a way to pull. He dropped 45 in a closeout game. He got mamba mentality.
Andrew Schultz
Closeout.
Charlamagne Tha God
What are we talking about?
Andrew Schultz
What are we talking about?
Chris Moreau
I will say he's more clutch than Jokic. So I'll give you. I'll give you.
Andrew Schultz
Of course.
Charlamagne Tha God
And he's small.
Andrew Schultz
So this is what I'm trying to say. Like if we're talking about best player in the league. Right. Like it. There's two components that you gotta look at. It's like one, who do you want to give the ball to with seven minutes left?
Chris Moreau
Boom.
Andrew Schultz
Every possession got to go through this guy. You're not going to go through Jokic over him. You're just not.
Charlamagne Tha God
Boom.
Chris Moreau
Sga.
Andrew Schultz
So SGA is the argument that people don't bring up. Right? Which is. I think there is an argument for that. But I think that to be. To be honest, I think he's a little bit. It's a little bit more of the foul baiting. I know they say Jalen does that, but Jalen will foul bait and then he will finish on your ass. Pause and then. But SJ is just going to foul bait.
Charlamagne Tha God
Everybody I've ever seen with the. With the type of clutch gene, captain clutch mentality that Jalen Brunson had is retired. Are no longer with us. God bless the dead. And that's Michael, Jeffrey, Jordan and Kobe. Jaylen Bean.
Andrew Schultz
You also got to give some credit to Big Cat, bro. I don't think Big Cat has gotten enough credit. Fundamentally changed the way the team plays. Best shooting big man in history of the game. Like if we're just looking at data and fundamentally changed when they started going through him at the three point line. Top of the key when they started running the offense through him. Amazing passer. He's a nightmare if he's your five and you gotta guard him two feet outside the three point line. Okay. Wemby, come over here. They took Wemby off him. Remember they. I think they were putting Wemby on hard.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cat was beating him on the first step. Every time Dogging him, y'. All. I'm telling y'. All. Y' all put too much hype on Wimby. I told y' all that from the beginning. Y' all crowned him too fucking early. I hated the David and Goliath messaging. Why the fuck is he Goliath? You gotta win something to be Goliath. Yeah, you know what I mean? Like, just cause you're tall.
Andrew Schultz
Goliath was a foreigner.
Charlamagne Tha God
Goliath was a foreigner, bro. By the way, speaking of that, I don't know why people act like giants are such a far fetched thing. Like giants couldn't have existed. They're in the Bible.
Andrew Schultz
Well, they did exist.
Charlamagne Tha God
Exactly. People act like they did not exist.
Andrew Schultz
They weren't giants, though. Like, why not? I mean, well, what do you thought? What do you think Mexicans thought when they saw white people?
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, what would you think if Victor when beyond a walking here right now? You'd be like, holy. Like, how much, how much more of a giant do you need to be?
Andrew Schultz
What do you think the people in the Middle east, when they met people from Sudan thought for the first time,
Charlamagne Tha God
they were like, yeah, they got huge.
Andrew Schultz
So you don't think that they were like holy.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's my point.
Andrew Schultz
Also more pyramids in Sudan than there are in Egypt. I don't want to, you know, cause any problems, but I'm just trying to.
Charlamagne Tha God
They tall. It was huge. They could just stand there and pick them up. Stand.
Andrew Schultz
Actually just trying to say, why don't Sudanese get enough credit for their pyramids?
Charlamagne Tha God
They giving Mexicans too much credit for the pyramids, bro.
Andrew Schultz
You had to give them giants credit. You got to give them all the credit. You know that joke? You know that joke that I used to do?
Charlamagne Tha God
What about the aliens?
Andrew Schultz
About how nobody questions who built the pyramids in Mexico.
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying? But they might have been tall. They might have been some tall Mexicans back then.
Andrew Schultz
No, they live from the legs, bro. Low base, bro. You pull that up from. From underneath, you gotta get low, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen, also, LeBron just cut it out and go back to Cleveland.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
I told you this last year.
Andrew Schultz
Don't come to New York. We don't want him coming to Philly.
Chris Moreau
He's gonna ring the bell, the Liberty Bell.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's the narrative. So why are you going under that, Chris? Because this is the thing that Rich Paul and Clutch Sports and LeBron and all them care about. They care about the court of public opinion and they care about how LeBron's legacy is perceived. Going to Golden State, not good for his legacy. Going to Philly, not good for his legacy.
Chris Moreau
There's only one who suffered more than us.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's only one place LeBron could go that would make sense for his legacy. Let's just go back to Cleveland.
Andrew Schultz
So here's the thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let's go back to Cleveland.
Andrew Schultz
The reason why it's safe to go back to Cleveland is because his legacy is still intact in that LeBron has won a ring for every team he's played for.
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying?
Andrew Schultz
How many players can say that they've done that as the best, best play on that team? None, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe somebody. I don't know who, but. And not including the players that have only played for one team. But he's won. For every team he's played on, he's won a ring. So if he goes to the 76ers, they don't win. Now that legacy is no longer intact, and they got to be thinking about legacy at this point. You ain't doing it for the money anymore.
Chris Moreau
Yep.
Charlamagne Tha God
And you look like you're just a person that's always wanting to team up with, you know, whoever is the hottest thing right now, like, kind of like ready made championship.
Andrew Schultz
I don't think that that's a LeBron criticism. You go to.
Charlamagne Tha God
You go to Golden State. It's with the Steph Curry era.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but like, I think there's more of a KD criticism than LeBron.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what LeBron goes to Philly or any of those other things. You start getting into that KD criticism
Andrew Schultz
story, you're ring chasing.
Chris Moreau
Yeah. No, it's not ring chasing, man. He's a mentor to Tyrese Maxey. Young clutch client, superstar maxi. There's a real relationship there. He's passing the baton to his.
Charlamagne Tha God
If LeBron goes anyplace else except for Cleveland, he falls into Kevin Durant criticism territory.
Andrew Schultz
So Larry Bird said this about. About Larry Bird said this about LeBron. He. He said it. Oh, fuck. I can't believe I'm forgetting another call you're talking about. Yeah. Where he's like, Larry Bird goes, I won't have anybody who played with LeBron on my team. I don't sign any of those guys. And the dude is telling to us. I can't believe I'm forgetting who told to him. Point guard got a great podcast.
Charlamagne Tha God
Jeff Teague.
Andrew Schultz
Teague, yeah, teague. My bad.
Charlamagne Tha God
Club 520.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. Hilarious storyteller. He's brilliant. Anyway, so he said, basically, Lebron said to him or. No, he said. Larry Bird said to him, I don't. I don't sign anybody who played LeBron. And Jeff's like, why? He said, because they're all bums. LeBron just makes them look good.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, you got to be more specific, because you don't feel that way about Dwyane Wade. You don't feel that way about Chris Boss. You don't feel that way about Kyrie.
Andrew Schultz
Dwayne got it without him.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't feel that way about Anthony Davidson.
Andrew Schultz
Dwayne got it without him. Nobody else has gotten a ring without him.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, Dwayne.
Heather Kai Walker
Who else?
Charlamagne Tha God
Who else?
Chris Moreau
Remember, remember when they're trying to hype up Mo Williams was supposed to be an All Star? It's shit like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, I think them early Cleveland day, he had nobody.
Andrew Schultz
Even Kyrie. Like, Kyrie hasn't had any success outside of.
Chris Moreau
Nah, Kyrie's a great.
Charlamagne Tha God
He still can ball. But he also was hurt.
Andrew Schultz
He's. He's maybe the single most talented, like, or skilled player in history. But in terms of, like, willing a team to victory, you can't rely on Kyrie the way you can rely on Jalen Brunson.
Chris Moreau
Right?
Andrew Schultz
You just can't. Like, I'm sorry, he's been in those positions and it didn't work out.
Chris Moreau
He hit one of the bigger shots in NBA history with LeBron.
Andrew Schultz
When LeBron is getting double the Della
Chris Moreau
Dovas or the Timothy Moggs.
Charlamagne Tha God
The early Cleveland days, he made those
Chris Moreau
guys look like real players.
Charlamagne Tha God
The early Cleveland days, when he was dragging them guys to the finals. All I know is if he goes to Golden State, Steph Curry was the greatest player of a generation.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, you're saying that he's chasing that if you go.
Charlamagne Tha God
If LeBron. Cause right now the conversation is between LeBron and Steph of who owned the generation.
Andrew Schultz
No, it's not.
Charlamagne Tha God
I still give it to Steph because Steph beat LeBron in the Finals, what, three times?
Andrew Schultz
You're the only person that has that conversation.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm just telling you because people don't. They hate the little guy. And I don't even like beige people. But people who hate the little guy, it's because Steph is small. Steph is, to me, the greatest player of a generation. He changed how everybody plays basketball, men and women. You don't get a Caitlin Clark without a Steph Curry. Steph Curry is the greatest player of a generation, and he beat LeBron. How many times they play in the finals? Head up. 4. 3. Beat him 3.
Andrew Schultz
1, I agree he changed the game. I think he's the most influential on the game of basketball, but I don't think that he's better than LeBron.
Charlamagne Tha God
Steph Curryman got Steph Curry number three on my all time list. Okay.
Andrew Schultz
Where's Jalen Brunson on your all time list?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's a good conversation. I was having a debate with somebody about Jalen versus Allen Iverson, and I don't know if the ring makes you better person.
Andrew Schultz
With all due respect to AI and this is the person who dominated, like my life as a kid, like, I love AI more than anything. He changed the way that, like, I want to play ball. He changed the way that so many of us want to play ball. But Jalen Brunson is a better basketball player than Alan Emerson.
Chris Moreau
I'm going to co sign that as a lifetime Sixers fan, and I say
Andrew Schultz
this with all due respect to AI as one of the greatest players I've ever seen play the game.
Heather Kai Walker
So why are you saying that though? Because it doesn't have to matter with the team too though.
Charlamagne Tha God
Sure.
Andrew Schultz
I think the team is obviously huge and the Knicks had an absolutely amazing team for sure. There's no question. But there's something about Jalen. That guy gets it done 45 in a closeout game away.
Chris Moreau
He respects the game and the habits that are required to operate at that level in a way that Iverson frankly never did.
Andrew Schultz
There's also that and being clutch is a characteristic that a lot of players don't have.
Charlamagne Tha God
They don't have it.
Andrew Schultz
And if you guys remember these certain plays as we were crawling back into that game, getting switch off so he could go after Wemby, everybody afraid to go in the paint on Wemby in the first couple quarters. And then you get into that fourth quarter and we're crawling back into this fucking game. And then you going right at Wemby, shaking him up, finishing at Wemby, like, come on, that's going to be. That's going to destroy your psyche. Can you imagine Wemby trying to come
Chris Moreau
from that off the court too? Making a sacrifice on salary?
Heather Kai Walker
Oh, yeah.
Chris Moreau
AI is not going to do that.
Andrew Schultz
And then how many other Nick players are going to end up doing that because he did it to keep this team?
Charlamagne Tha God
I hope not a lot.
Andrew Schultz
I'm always conflicted with that because, yeah,
Charlamagne Tha God
I hope not a lot.
Andrew Schultz
I know what it takes to win. What it takes to win is players sacrificing. But I also am like, all right, well, the people that own the team are worth billions, Billions of dollars.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't like that shit. I hate when I got on. Hopefully Jalen gets his ultimate payout one day. But you can't be asking players just to sacrifice.
Andrew Schultz
Now, what I would say is that the players make more than the teams. So that is something that is.
Charlamagne Tha God
Explain it.
Andrew Schultz
Like, there are very many teams in the NBA, they're not profitable, and so every player on that team is making more money. Yes, these billionaires can write off their losses against other businesses they have, and yada, yada, yada. But like, when we look at pay disparity, if you looked at someone who just owned that one business, what the employees are making and what the owner. The business are making, and the employees are making more than the business owner, you would not think it's unfair at all. The reason we think it's unfair is because these are incredibly wealthy people, and they can write off their losses against other businesses. And we just don't really care about the finances of billionaires, as we shouldn't.
Chris Moreau
What do you think Dolan could get if you put the Knicks up for sale right now?
Andrew Schultz
10 billion.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn. That's the crazy, too, man. You know, it's. It's. Yo, there's no way you're ever getting.
Chris Moreau
Am I wrong?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, you're not wrong, but there's no way you're ever getting an ROI. Like, the Lakers just sold for 10 billion, right?
Andrew Schultz
Wait, the Lakers sold for 10? I thought they sold for like, four.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, it was 10.
Chris Moreau
No, I think it maybe eight, homes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, it was 10.
Andrew Schultz
No, because Boston sold for six, and I thought that was the highest.
Charlamagne Tha God
Look it up. I thought the lakers sold for 10,
Andrew Schultz
and they did some fugazi shit.
Heather Kai Walker
10.
Chris Moreau
10. Knicks might be 12.
Andrew Schultz
So the Knicks more than that. This might be 12. 15.
Charlamagne Tha God
I got approached to do a. Never mind. I don't even want to talk about it.
Andrew Schultz
Tell me.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, you know what I'm gonna say. All I'll say is this. You know, sell the.
Andrew Schultz
If you sell the Brooklyn Nets, if you get. Yo, imagine being a Knick fan and then pretending to be a Brooklyn Net fan for all these years, and then the Knicks win.
Charlamagne Tha God
That was whack. I know some people that did that. I know some people that went, KD and Kyrie and James Harden, they all switched over. But there I. I know people who had an opportunity to invest in, like, a NBA franchise, right? And when you look at the investment, there's no real ownership perks, and you're probably never going to make that money.
Andrew Schultz
You will how you make the money on the sale. It's a closed market.
Charlamagne Tha God
When, when are you going to sell? And, and if the, if the, if the lakers sold for 10, right. And you said the Celtics sold for six, six, who's going, what is that going to look like in the future? 20 years from now? Who's going to have 13, 14, 15 billion.
Andrew Schultz
You won't have to wait 20 years. This is a fixed system. There's only so many teams. It's, it's arguably the best investment in like the history of humanity.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what they say.
Andrew Schultz
But it's. The numbers would prove it because these teams keep selling for insane multiples. You're going to lose money owning the team, you know that? But eventually you're going to sell it. And because every wealthy person wants to own a sports franchise. So it just is what it is.
Charlamagne Tha God
By the way, I would, I could see that if there was ownership perks to the investment. Well, meaning, like because sometimes when you come in with these groups, right. When you come in with these groups and you invest, you know, with the capital, like you don't. There's no real ownership perks. And that's, that's the question you should ask.
Andrew Schultz
Well, what are ownership perks?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, it's not.
Andrew Schultz
I mean maybe at your guys level of investment they weren't exactly. Yeah. If you, if you own like a minority, minority stake. But if you're Jay Z, you get to sit court side at your games whenever you want. Yeah. You get to go to whatever concert you want. You have to have full access.
Charlamagne Tha God
Absolutely.
Andrew Schultz
Want to get like all of your friends autographs from like there, there's amazing perks too.
Charlamagne Tha God
Absolutely. If I get, if you get stuff like that, it makes sense. But to your point, at the level of investment that I know some of these people were coming in at, there was, there was no ownership perks. And you just sit back and you think like, yo, this price of these, these NBA franchises are getting to the point where like you are buying them. You're not going to make that Rihanna.
Andrew Schultz
You will make that.
Charlamagne Tha God
You think that, you think that that guy will ever get his $10 billion back from the Lakers?
Andrew Schultz
Way more than Lakers.
Chris Moreau
Yeah. I think the only argument against it is the league's going to dilute itself a little bit.
Andrew Schultz
Years between Vegas, they'll add a couple teams. They'll add a couple teams.
Chris Moreau
Go.
Andrew Schultz
Should Dolan sell? Since it's probably at its all time high right now. No, because it will be even more like why would you sell?
Charlamagne Tha God
I would never Sell the NBA? What if they.
Andrew Schultz
What if they lose? What if they lose? The Knicks sell out when we lost for 53 years. Like, it's the best investment in sports.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's some you keep in your family.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, we love me personal.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, about. Like I shout out to the. But family. I sold Liberty. I would never sold the Lakers.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, he sold the Liberty. Oh, he did the pro. I think the thing. And again, I don't know the finances, but I imagine the thing with the bus family is, like, they had all this money tied up in the.
Heather Kai Walker
The.
Andrew Schultz
The franchise, but they themselves weren't wealthy. So it's like, relatively. I mean, look, to us, they're all, like, the wealthiest people in the world, but to their. The people that they're rubbing shoulders with, they're worth billions. But they can't take the PJ here. They can't buy the house in this place. They can't do it. They're not liquid. So all of a sudden, I think what happens is they go, well, I want to be liquid. And then what I think they learn very quickly is I want to be liquid so I could do the things all my rich friends do. And I think what they learned very quickly is those rich friends now all of a sudden don't really care that much about you now that you don't have the access to the Lakers like you did, because it wasn't really about how much money you got.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, you thought we liked you.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, we don't like you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, we liked it. We like the makers, bro.
Andrew Schultz
Like, so. So I think that unfortunately, they learned that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, investing is funny. It's.
Andrew Schultz
If you have the opportunity, Charlemagne, to invest in a NBA franchise, I think you should do that immediately. And I think you should tell me exactly which one it is you want to go half. Which one is it?
Charlamagne Tha God
I tell you after.
Andrew Schultz
Can you. Can you, like, go like this and tell me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, but it's no ownership perks. Look, for the level of investment debt,
Andrew Schultz
there is ownership perks.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not for the level of investment we make. I. Trust me, I asked. I went through the whole gamut. That's why I'm like, eh, would you
Andrew Schultz
let me make some phone calls?
Chris Moreau
Sure.
Charlamagne Tha God
But we'd be coming in on a group. Of course we'd be coming in with a group.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but you're Charlamagne the God, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm just saying, like, coming in with a group.
Andrew Schultz
Charlamagne the God needs, like, Jay owns a percent or whatever it was of the Brooklyn Nets, but they understood the value he brought to that franchise. So he's going to get more ownership perks than some other 1% owners of the team. In my estimation. To what. What you offer a franchise is a lot different.
Charlamagne Tha God
And also, you still got to get approved. That's the other thing people don't realize too. You still got to get approved.
Andrew Schultz
You are a felon.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's way. That's why people get their records pardoned and like that.
Andrew Schultz
So if they can.
Charlamagne Tha God
You're joking. But if it's the truth. No, absolutely. And we wild boys, you know what I'm saying? We wild.
Andrew Schultz
Can't stop being wild.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? Like, there's been. There's been other opportunities I've had to
Andrew Schultz
not be wild, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's been other opportunities I've had. I was going to. I'll tell you this. I was going to invest in a football team once and I was right there and failed a background check. Like this guy. The other owners and the other groups are like, how can we. Charlamagne, listen, I'll tell you what they said. How can we be sure he's not going to say something that is going to cause the team to look crazy?
Andrew Schultz
This is where he's right.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is where you got it. That's when you got like, you got to respectfully bow out.
Andrew Schultz
People like you and I need a nice clean cut, white boy. They can be the head me you're talking. Oh, you got it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You did what? What are we talking about? I was gonna make I think of her name. I got the best. You see what I'm saying? You know what I mean?
Andrew Schultz
So she's the head of the company,
Charlamagne Tha God
but it's not even about that.
Andrew Schultz
To your point, you can't have no woman owning a sports franchise.
Charlamagne Tha God
It ain't that. Because to your point, they want to
Andrew Schultz
be able to use your likeness, me, your ability.
Charlamagne Tha God
But sometimes that doesn't add up with what all the other owners and people are doing. That's just the reality of the situation. By the way, that don't even got nothing to do with, you know, criminal background stuff. That's just me saying wild shit as a personality. Like. And by the way, anybody in this space who gets to that level where they have the access and the capital to be able to make those type of investments and things is going to run into that problem.
Andrew Schultz
What type of. What type of investment was it for you personally, not the group?
Charlamagne Tha God
What you talking. Financially?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
What you mean money wise?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
What you. What you thinking? Not.
Andrew Schultz
Not M. Oh, K. Yes, that K yeah, yeah, yeah.
Heather Kai Walker
Secrets. Secrets are no fun. Secrets are for everyone.
Andrew Schultz
Charlamagne, That's a no brainer. Don't even take the. The perks. That's just a fun talking about for
Charlamagne Tha God
the other one for the basketball team.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, no, no, no, no. That's even. I'll tell you that. I'll tell you that in a minute. We talk about that in a second. No need. There's no need to discuss business with people who don't got nothing. Like, this don't even mean anything.
Heather Kai Walker
Like.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, like, we got to stop. I'm serious. We got to stop doing this.
Andrew Schultz
What do we do?
Charlamagne Tha God
What are we doing?
Andrew Schultz
What are we doing is wrong? You know, what's the problem with us is if we actually live our authentic lives, we're not trying to be captured by the audience and do what the audience says. I don't know, bro, but do you understand what I'm saying?
Chris Moreau
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Say it again.
Andrew Schultz
Like, I genuinely think that there are creators out there that are just like, what do the audience think? And what does the audience want? And I'm just gonna say those things.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, absolutely.
Andrew Schultz
And then we're gonna say some shit that's, like, fucking annoying maybe, but at least it's authentically what we're thinking.
Charlamagne Tha God
Who we is, who we are.
Andrew Schultz
Would you rather be talking to someone that's authentically saying what their life is and their experience?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because we're taking them on a journey and they've been watching us for a long, long time.
Andrew Schultz
Can we own some sports franchises without pissing people off? Hey, can we just buy a sports team?
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm just letting you know, at some point, you outgrow the clothes you're wearing.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, they can't let us own a sports franchise, though. Because even if they call. First of all, if they call me a minority owner, I'm a minority now.
Charlamagne Tha God
And I'm using it.
Andrew Schultz
I'm using that. I'm talking all this shit about how these white people be holding us down and not giving us any fucking ownership. Well, if I wasn't a minority, I bet I was gonna get some ownership perks.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what's so funny about that? Being a minority when it comes to classism is hilarious. Cause you see the difference. I'm sitting here telling y', all, you can come in at a certain investment level.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And yeah, to your point, if they sell in the future, somebody does happen to Biden's team for such and such billion dollars, you'll get a roi. But you don't have no Perks. You as a minority owner, you got
Andrew Schultz
to be able to go to a game, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
I got to look and see.
Andrew Schultz
They don't even include season tickets.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hell no.
Andrew Schultz
No, because there's a lot of people that are minority owners and they.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, these groups are big. Like, these groups are big.
Andrew Schultz
So if you go in, basically they'll probably have an allocation, right? I'm going to make up a random number. The allocation is for $10. Okay. And they'll get like 100 different people that are going to give, what is it, 10 cents or whatever it is. So they could be part of that.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's right.
Andrew Schultz
And then all those people are considered minority owners of the team. And you get to say it and you use it on your fucking business. You get to tell people when it sounds good. Well, think about you're doing business with somebody and they're an owner of the New York Knicks or they're an owner of the Lakers. All of a sudden they're legitimate, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Usher Washer wasn't a minority owner of the Cavaliers, but they, he had some. He had perks. Used to be at the games. Nelly was a minority owner of the Hornets. J. Cole was a minority owner of the. I think he might be a minority owner of the Hornets now, if I'm not mistaken, right? So like, yeah, it happens. It's like it's, it's not like a. A far fetched thing, but those people
Andrew Schultz
don't need the contacts. Imagine you're somebody who's just a regular business guy. You own a construction company that's very successful and lucrative. But now you're an owner of the Washington Wizards. Now you're up for a construction contract. You're going to give the contract to somebody who just owns a construction company or you're going to give the contract to someone who owns a construction company and they're a minority owner of the Washington Wizard. Doesn't that sound legit?
Charlamagne Tha God
Sounds good.
Chris Moreau
If they could throw in some seats, it would make it even sweeter.
Andrew Schultz
And you could probably do that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Sounds good. But you know another reason I didn't do it? Because shit got to really mean something to me.
Andrew Schultz
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
If it was a team.
Andrew Schultz
And that's kind of what I.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? Like, it's like, for me, it's just like, I don't know. I don't have no connections to that. Like, it's not like a money play. Like there wasn't any community initiative.
Andrew Schultz
I put something to you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Because I think this will happen in the very near future, if it hasn't already happened. Now, I think now with the nil deals and like the amount of money that's going to be generated in college sports, I think what they'll start doing is like selling stakes in the teams.
Chris Moreau
I was going to ask that. So if you give money to a school to be used for nil deals, it's really just for the love of the school. Right. It's not an investment per se. You're not expecting to get any sort of return on.
Charlamagne Tha God
There is, I don't want to talk
Andrew Schultz
about, but I think the private equity people will start entering collegiate sports. And to me, I don't think that there has been a greater ambassador outside the game for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. And if that was to become privatized in any way, shape or form, I feel like, you know, you would need a Charlemagne, the gods to be on that. Am I wrong to say something like that? Am I wrong to suggest something like that?
Charlamagne Tha God
You're not wrong because you were doing
Andrew Schultz
it for the love of the game.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
You weren't doing it for any sort of financial reward. And if there is an opportunity, then like you would think that they would want to come to the people who've held them down.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I'll bring that up.
Andrew Schultz
I'll bring that up.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's a good idea, I guess.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
We want to pay some bills. Taylor gang, let's pay some bills. Pay some bills.
Andrew Schultz

Charlamagne Tha God
The local guy's name, man, I don't
Andrew Schultz
know if they've been booked.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, okay. Excited. He probably everybody. He on with Andrew Schultz.
Andrew Schultz
No, usually. Usually I'll be even notified. Maybe closer to like.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
But I think they usually have local talent that might go up first or in the list somewhere. So I always do try to shout them out, but. But yeah. And then thank you guys so much for coming out to the shows out in the LA area. Those were. Those were awesome. Shout out. Emiliano, man. Shared the craziest story ever. And that was a. Came out to our shows in Ontario and he. He hooked everybody up with some food, man. That was really cool. So Grandma's Boys Catering, Emiliano Charlemagne, tell
Charlamagne Tha God
him my church announcements. The 5th Annual Mental Wealth Expo is happening October 10th in Newark, New Jersey, at. Hold on one second, let me pull this up. Why is Trump so sexual, bro? Hold on, we'll talk about that in a minute. The 5th Annual Mental Health Expo will be happening Saturday, October 10th, in honor of World Mental Health Day. It will be at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, just like last year. You can go register right now at mentalwealthexpo. Com. You know, it's a free event. It's at the Joelle and Diane Bloom Wellness and Event center at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Saturday, October 10th. So go there and register to be there. It's free to get in. And everything is curated this year by my good sister, Debbie Brown. Man. Debbie Brown has taken the reins this year, and she's in control of everything. And this year is all about solutions, okay? Solutions. We're not talking about. Well, we. We probably will still be talking about eradicating the stigma and things of that nature, but we're actually going to be talking, you know, more solutions, man. Cause, you know, we want to help individuals heal. So make sure you go register for that. And Lil Jon's book, Go pre order that right now. It'll be out in October. It's called I Only Shout so you can hear me. It's his memoir. Go pre order that right now. I was saying, Donald Trump is so sexual, right? Because he says things and everything comes off in a sexual way. Like when he was talking about awarding the Medal of Honor to himself and two of his sons. He said, you gonna make. He said. He said, now that I see my two beautiful sons sit. You got the audio? Oh, let's hear it.
Andrew Schultz
It's hot. My two beautiful sons sitting there. I think I'm going to give one
Charlamagne Tha God
to myself, one to them, and we'll have a threesome.
Heather Kai Walker
Okay?
Chris Moreau
Now, as I see my two beautiful sons sitting there.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, threesome with your sons.
Charlamagne Tha God
But he's talking about giving them the Medal of Honor.
Heather Kai Walker
He said a lot of other sexual stuff.
Charlamagne Tha God
This was crazy. This sounded sexual to me today, too. Trump says ceasefire with Iran over. And we're Gonna hit them hard again tonight. What did that sound like?
Andrew Schultz
Sound like the US Is out of the World Cup.
Charlamagne Tha God
Sounds like the second nut action. You know how when you nut. When you nut after a certain age. Let me tell you something. And that dick is flaccid. And you like. Yeah, yeah. It's gonna get back hard in a little while, but nah. By a little while, you mean the next night?
Andrew Schultz
Crazy sex ass. The next night, have sex two nights in a row.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I' saying cease fire with Iran was over. So we're going to hit them hard again tonight. Okay. We hit them hard again the other night.
Andrew Schultz
Why are we always telling people we going to bomb them? Because what is this politeness in war?
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't really want to do it.
Andrew Schultz
No, but everybody does it. They do it, we do it. Everybody, like, knows.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nobody really wants to do it. Who really wants to be.
Andrew Schultz
But that's good.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nobody really wants to be at war. If you really wanted to be at war with somebody and you really wanted to take them out, you would just hit the red button, bro.
Andrew Schultz
No, don't put that out there anymore. We don't want that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I know I don't want that, but nobody wants that.
Andrew Schultz
Would you use it? Could you use the red button?
Charlamagne Tha God
No.
Andrew Schultz
What if somebody was going to do an attack on AU and the only way to stop it was if you hit. Hit him with the red button.
Charlamagne Tha God
Would you do it? I don't know. That is a good. That is a good. That is a good question. What would make you hit the red button? What could happen in the world right now?
Chris Moreau
Nothing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nothing. Right. Unless. Unless you're just one. Unless you're just sick of it. No, no, no, no. There is something, Chris.
Andrew Schultz
I got something. I could be Knicks win four more championships in a row. I could hit that button 17 times in a row. If the Knicks.
Charlamagne Tha God
You wouldn't even be here to celebrate it. You want to be here to celebrate. That's the beauty of it. You want to be here 50 years from now to be telling your grandkids how it felt to be here when the Knicks won that championship. Like, come on,
Andrew Schultz
You know, you never been there when we won a championship. That feels good.
Charlamagne Tha God
It was amazing.
Andrew Schultz
Boop, boop.
Charlamagne Tha God
And you get to live off that. Don't.
Andrew Schultz
Wait till next year when we win again.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, wait till the ring ceremony. Wait till next year when you got to hear all year long, defending NBA champions. New York Knicks.
Andrew Schultz
World championship.
Charlamagne Tha God
World champions. World champions. Like, what are we talking about?
Andrew Schultz
I got these people in my DMs telling me, like, oh, they're just the champions of the United States. They didn't win the world. It's like, shut up. Tell me a team in the world that could beat us.
Charlamagne Tha God
We got. We've given.
Andrew Schultz
None of your little teams could beat us.
Charlamagne Tha God
America's giving out so many red cards. There's so many foreigners in the NBA. Like, come on, it's the World Cup.
Andrew Schultz
But what if I started using red cards to deport?
Charlamagne Tha God
You want to know how dumb I am? You want to know how dumb I am?
Heather Kai Walker
What?
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm so dumb. I really thought the red car was some new shit that had to do with immigration because I was in. You gotta think I'm in Anguilla, right? So when I'm hearing people talk about this, I'm just like. They're like, america lost is Trump's fault. And then I'm hearing something about a red card, and I'm like, yo, what the fuck happened? So I'm thinking that he kept somebody from playing, but actually it was the other way around.
Chris Moreau
Yeah, he descended a green card.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, the red card is the opposite of a green card.
Charlamagne Tha God
I never heard of it. I thought the red card just stopped.
Andrew Schultz
Well, yeah, you stop playing. If you get a red card, you stop.
Charlamagne Tha God
But that's what I mean. I thought Trump created a red card. The stop shit.
Andrew Schultz
That's actually a decent idea. Deportation is red card. You get a red card. If we really want soccer to become influential in this country, we have to insert it into culture, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's how dumb I'm like, so he got a red card so he could play.
Andrew Schultz
Aren't you glad that he made that phone call?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know. I don't know anything about this shit. You talking to the wrong person.
Andrew Schultz
I just. I'm like. I was saying this on flagrant, but, like, don't stop being a corrupt now. You know what I mean? Like, if you're going to be corrupt, corrupted, I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's corrupt, though.
Andrew Schultz
Call in FIFA and be like, hey, can you reverse the red card?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's not corrupt. Nah, it is. Nah. It might be abuse of power. It might be an overreach of power,
Andrew Schultz
but isn't that what corruption is? Corruption, is it? Sometimes I want to take this table and I want to fucking throw it
Charlamagne Tha God
across because it's clearly not illegal.
Andrew Schultz
If we didn't argue over what shit actually actually means, this show will be 15 minutes.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's clearly not illegal. If I can just call FIFA, the president say, yo, let him Play. Then clearly there was nothing keeping him from playing other than somebody's Nancy Pelosi suggestion.
Andrew Schultz
Investing in stocks she knows are going to.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's illegal.
Andrew Schultz
No, that's not illegal. That's why she's able to do it.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, you're not supposed to be doing inside of training like that. I thought it was illegal.
Andrew Schultz
No, it's not. It's legal for inside of training.
Heather Kai Walker
Illegal.
Chris Moreau
Insider trading is illegal.
Andrew Schultz
If you have. If you're privy to what? Maybe if you work at the company or the company's ideas, it is insider dream. Because you would know that the government is going to support these.
Charlamagne Tha God
Absolutely.
Andrew Schultz
But it's not legal according to the Constitution, according to the rules that they're governed by.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not.
Andrew Schultz
No. That's why it's a. That's why it's annoying.
Charlamagne Tha God
I didn't know that, Matthew. You telling me something new? Yeah, I thought it was illegal.
Andrew Schultz
It's not illegal because she's conducting her job, and just because she hears something at her job, she benefits from it. But she's not getting information from somebody at that company. Just talking about policy.
Charlamagne Tha God
She probably is getting stuff from that company. Of course.
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
But in the act of doing her.
Charlamagne Tha God
And also creating policy to benefit said company, making sure said company gets, I can't say certain amount of funding and shit like that. I'm not saying her in particular, but a lot of politicians.
Andrew Schultz
She'll be aware of policies that would be advantageous for certain companies.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what. That's all the Trump administration is doing right now.
Chris Moreau
No, they're. Well, conflict.
Andrew Schultz
Well, Charlotte. Well, welcome.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I know that's not the same as picking up the phone and saying, yo, I want him to play.
Andrew Schultz
Charlamagne just found out how politicians become rich.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why wasn't he. Why wasn't he playing?
Andrew Schultz
He committed a foul in the game before, which would make him eligible to play in the next game, and we wanted him to play. Ineligible. Ineligible.
Heather Kai Walker
Sorry.
Andrew Schultz
So then Trump just calls and be like, yo, we need our guy. And then all of a sudden, what
Charlamagne Tha God
if he called and just said, hey, man, I think y' all should let him play. And the person said, you know what?
Andrew Schultz
I like this.
Charlamagne Tha God
At the suggestion of the president, we should let him play.
Andrew Schultz
I like this. But it's not.
Heather Kai Walker
It's against.
Charlamagne Tha God
You have to win me in the finals.
Andrew Schultz
It's like in the rules or just one person. Who is the referee? Who is the referee? Hold on, hold on. Who's the referee in the NBA finals that the. The NBA plays? So they could stretch out the series. Was it Joey Crawford? Who was it?
Chris Moreau
I have. Okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
Who was the ref that turned the blind eye to Wimby when he created that, when he did that blatant flavor you got Tony Brothers and Brunson. And they knew they couldn't call it because if they called it, then he couldn't play the next game.
Chris Moreau
It was clearly not the ref who didn't call the foul on old G when he fouled Fox driving.
Charlamagne Tha God
Come on.
Chris Moreau
Stop.
Charlamagne Tha God
Chris, come on. You gotta let the hate go. It's the hate.
Andrew Schultz
Let it go.
Charlamagne Tha God
You can't celebrate somebody else's succession. You probably won't have any of your own.
Andrew Schultz
That's facts.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like sixes. Philly fans gotta stop being haters.
Andrew Schultz
Aventure one. Enough.
Chris Moreau
Won what?
Andrew Schultz
Didn't you win something?
Charlamagne Tha God
A Super Bowl.
Chris Moreau
Oh, a basketball fan. I don't give a fuck about.
Charlamagne Tha God
You won a Super Bowl.
Andrew Schultz
But didn't. Didn't you guys win some hockey, too?
Chris Moreau
Maybe. I don't know.
Andrew Schultz
Didn't you win some baseball?
Charlamagne Tha God
Shit, I don't remember.
Chris Moreau
Possibly.
Charlamagne Tha God
But can we go back to the nuclear weapon thing?
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is what can make somebody press the red button. If you're old as fuck, have some type of grave illness, right? And you're probably losing your mind in some way, shape or form, right? Like early Autimers, whatever the fuck it is. And you're just like, fuck it. I'm so mad at the world, I'm not gonna be here. So I don't want nobody else to be here.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's why people like that shouldn't be leaders of the free world.
Andrew Schultz
I think that's a great point.
Charlamagne Tha God
I bet you if you look at some of the leaders who have hit the nukes before.
Chris Moreau
Only one.
Andrew Schultz
Only one.
Charlamagne Tha God
Only one us. It was us.
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Who was in charge then?
Chris Moreau
Truman.
Andrew Schultz
Truman.
Charlamagne Tha God
What was Truman going through?
Chris Moreau
Well, the argument you would make in Truman's case is he was living in
Charlamagne Tha God
a fucking world that he found out wasn't even a real fucking world.
Andrew Schultz
How so stupid. How so?
Charlamagne Tha God
They did a whole bio on him. The truth is joke. What the fuck are we talking about? He was living in a fucking world and he realized that it was a simulation and he was like, fuck it.
Andrew Schultz
None of this shit is real.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? But how do we know that wasn't the case? I guarantee. Chris, come on. You're a historian. What was he going through?
Heather Kai Walker
Historian.
Chris Moreau
So the given reason is Japan wouldn't surrender. We were in this island by island fight across the South Pacific, which was incredibly costly in terms of casualties. A ground invasion of Japan would have cost, you know, a million American lives, you know, 5 million Japanese lives. They convinced everybody, in a kind of perverse way, this actually saved lives by dropping a nuke on two nukes, rather, on Japan. It ended the war once and for all. And then all the lives that would have been lost, another lengthy, you know, ground invasion were saved.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why do you think they never struck back?
Chris Moreau
Japan? Yeah, well, they didn't. They didn't have a nuclear bomb.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, so America was the only people that had nukes at the time.
Andrew Schultz
We weren't.
Chris Moreau
Were. And then there were these two traitors.
Charlamagne Tha God
Russia too, though.
Chris Moreau
Right after the American traders gave them the bomb secrets.
Andrew Schultz
Were they American, though?
Chris Moreau
Chris, what do you think?
Charlamagne Tha God
I still think it was because he was living in a simulation.
Chris Moreau
Who were their true loyalties lying with? Talking about the Rosenbergs.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, was it like that?
Charlamagne Tha God
Come on. It's like that.
Andrew Schultz
I thought they were.
Charlamagne Tha God
We get here now. How did we get. How did we get a name?
Chris Moreau
What are you guys talking about?
Heather Kai Walker
It's crazy.
Andrew Schultz
You could say.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know why.
Andrew Schultz
I thought it was Russian. I thought they were like. Or German scientists.
Chris Moreau
Where do you think the Russians got it from?
Charlamagne Tha God
Let's do some asking. Idiots, man. Damn, Chris, I didn't come here for this. That was crazy. I've never heard that one.
Andrew Schultz
He's trying to buy us. They're not gonna let him buy us.
Charlamagne Tha God
I've never heard that one. That.
Chris Moreau
Was that what really happened or were they scapegoated?
Charlamagne Tha God
Who, though?
Chris Moreau
The Rosenbergs.
Andrew Schultz
Damn, Chris, why you get so horny when you talk about it? You sound like Trump with a medal
Charlamagne Tha God
of dove coming here fucking with a red face. Don't make dove running here with a red face. Yo. Okay, all right. Shit.
Andrew Schultz
No, it was Russian or like German scientists that we snatched up.
Chris Moreau
I'm just telling you what the US government told me. Oh, all right.
Andrew Schultz
You work for the government.
Chris Moreau
No, they told me, though.
Andrew Schultz
How do you know?
Chris Moreau
Citizen. They announced it. They put a couple, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, I believe, on trial. They were really killed for giving away states.
Charlamagne Tha God
Stop, Chris. Let me look this up.
Chris Moreau
Don't know about this. No, Chris, you're the biggest stories in American history.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, they squashed it.
Chris Moreau
They didn't squash it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on. Who are the Julius and what?
Chris Moreau
Ethel, I believe. Rosenberg.
Charlamagne Tha God
Larry something. Wow. The Julius Rosenberg and Ethel Rosenberg are an American married couple convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage for passing atomic related secrets to the Soviet Union during the early Cold War. They were arrested in 1950amid intense fears of Soviet espionage. Prosecutors alleged that Julius led a spy ring that supplied information related to U.S. military and atomic research to the Soviet Union. Ethel was accused of assisting the conspiracy, particularly by helping prepare espionage materials. In 1951, both were convicted in federal court. Despite worldwide appeals for clemency, they were executed in the electric chair at Sing Sing correctional facility on June 19, 1953. Why the case remains controversial. Rosenberg case remains one of the most debated episodes of the Cold War because historians disagree about the extent of Ethel Rosenberg's involvement. Evidence released after the Cold War, including Soviet intelligence records and the decrypted Venona project messages, strongly indicates that Julius Rosenberg was involved in espionage for the Soviet Union. However, many historians believe Ethel's role was far more limited than prosecutors claimed at trial.
Andrew Schultz
So they were looking for Blaine.
Charlamagne Tha God
The Rosenbergs were the first American civilians executed for espionage related crimes during peacetime. You learn something new every day on the brilliant idiots, man.
Andrew Schultz
I mean, you gotta merk them.
Charlamagne Tha God
It sounds like they got blackmailed. Not blackmailed. What's the word?
Andrew Schultz
Scapegoated.
Charlamagne Tha God
Scape. Coded. What's the other word, though?
Chris Moreau
Set up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Frame? Set up. Yeah, that's what it sounds like to me. Coming. Like, why would those two.
Chris Moreau
Those two had all the secrets.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying.
Chris Moreau
It wasn't for those two, we'd be the only country in the world with nuclear bombs. Do we really believe that? Because that's the story we were sold at the time.
Charlamagne Tha God
America's a wild country, bro. Let's do some asking in this, man. Cause sholz got to do a phone call. And Chris just bought the move down. Blame him. Chris just brought the move down. Blaming Jewish people for everything again.
Heather Kai Walker
Oh, look, for his culture. Look how fat.
Charlamagne Tha God
Didn't he just do that? You don't think he just did that?
Andrew Schultz
I think he did, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
That was crazy.
Andrew Schultz
It's just disgusting.
Chris Moreau
I always felt a connection with the Rosenbergs.
Charlamagne Tha God
But you didn't say that these people were framed. Essentially, you just said it like, you know what I mean? Like, you just said Julius kind of
Chris Moreau
looked like my grandfather. And one of my grandfather's brothers was named Julius.
Andrew Schultz
So I always felt a connection to them.
Chris Moreau
Unfortunate connection. Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Does this woman look like she knows where any of the goddamn secrets are? Like, what are we talking. Look at. What are we talking about, man?
Andrew Schultz
Nah, she do look like she knows, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Get the fuck out of here.
Andrew Schultz
Look like she holding some secrets.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, the secrets to a nice apple pie. Okay, okay. By a Quiche.
Andrew Schultz
What is this right here?
Heather Kai Walker
I just saw this and I thought that was really cool how fast they were going. Like a famous jump rope.
Andrew Schultz
Go
Heather Kai Walker
back there. But look how fast they go. Look how. But look, they have the number. The.
Charlamagne Tha God
How long you got to stop coming in here? High.
Andrew Schultz
I'm not high.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is a podcast.
Andrew Schultz
I'm not high.
Charlamagne Tha God
They're listening to us. They don't even know what the we're looking at.
Heather Kai Walker
This is for YouTube.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is for cool.
Heather Kai Walker
Look how y' all looking at it, though.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's like, damn, how fast they go.
Andrew Schultz
Look how fast.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's how I used to look when I used to try to suck my dick as a child.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, my God.
Charlamagne Tha God
You never did that. Come on. You keep trying to do your knees. You're down here like this. You're trying to. You're trying to do all type of shit to get it up. There you go, Smaskin.
Heather Kai Walker
Idiots.
Andrew Schultz
Please, Sharla, come on, sir.
Heather Kai Walker
What?
Andrew Schultz
You ain't. Oh, that's hilarious. Live your truth, man.
Chris Moreau
Live your truth.
Charlamagne Tha God
Can we do some asking?
Heather Kai Walker
Idiots.
Andrew Schultz
I'm doing it right now.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why would you say that?
Heather Kai Walker
You have kids?
Andrew Schultz
Family?

Charlamagne Tha God
let's do some asking. Idiots. What we got? Taylor gang.
Chris Moreau
Ooh.
Charlamagne Tha God
Zero. Kristoff says when is Chris writing his own book? That's interesting. Chris. Chris, you've been writing so many other people's books for years. If you don't know Chris Moreau is a world renowned author. He has written all three of my books. Well, co write my books with me. Cause I absolutely do write. Don't I write, Chris?
Chris Moreau
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Tell the truth. Am I one of the easiest people for you to work with? Be honest.
Heather Kai Walker
No.
Chris Moreau
I've worked with people who don't write anything and Charlemagne writes the entire. I wouldn't call myself a co writer on those. I would call myself more of a guider. Editor.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. I always tell people Chris helps me make my books booky so like I can write. Like I can say this is what I want this chapter to be. Write the whole chapter. The stories, the principles, the purpose and all that. But then Chris turns it into a book. Chris was like Chris was chatgpt before there was a chat GPT.
Andrew Schultz
You know what I mean? Structure.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Organization.
Charlamagne Tha God
Exactly.
Chris Moreau
I even have the receipt seats right here. I won't show it to the camera, but I could pull up many of the.
Charlamagne Tha God
All right. All three of my books. Black Privilege Shook one Get honest or die lying. But Chris has also written for 50 Cent. Russell Simmons.
Chris Moreau
Donald Trump did not write for Donald Trump.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, she did. Why you don't want to claim it now?
Andrew Schultz
Yo. Hey, listen, we all got to admit when we're wrong, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
I wasn't a Vogue.
Andrew Schultz
Hey, Chris, who wasn't? Just admit when you're wrong, bro.
Chris Moreau
Better.
Andrew Schultz
It's okay.
Chris Moreau
I've been wrong a lot of times, but this is not one of them. I spoke to Donald Trump over the phone because I helped him write the intro for Russell Simmons book. Do you. And then Donald Trump did the intro for Russell's book.
Charlamagne Tha God
He did. I don't remember that. And I read. Do you?
Chris Moreau
Intro by. Intro by.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up right now.
Andrew Schultz
Just say it. Just say it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shut up. Okay, all right.
Chris Moreau
I just implicate somebody I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think Russell's on that bird, man.
Chris Moreau
I don't think he was invited.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, nah, nah, nah. When are you gonna write your own book?
Andrew Schultz
When are you gonna write your own book, Chris?
Chris Moreau
I don't know, man. I'm afraid one day I'll try to do it.
Charlamagne Tha God
What would it be about, you think?
Chris Moreau
The only thing I've thought about. Well, I have an idea that's kind of like writing. It's actually tied into this show. We can talk about it later. Be more of a. A scripted podcast. I've thought about putting together some short stories about, you know, my life growing up that I've told in settings that people seem to like, but that's. That's as far as I've ever gotten.
Heather Kai Walker
No, it is. He was on Run's house.
Charlamagne Tha God
I didn't even know that he was in the tub. He's being tub. Who the fuck you think was writing Run's fucking positive notes? Oh, was that you? Yes. He was in the tub.
Chris Moreau
I was not writing Reverend Run's inspirational tweets.
Charlamagne Tha God
You wrote that book, too? You wrote Reverend Run and Tyrese's book? I did.
Heather Kai Walker
Oh, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Chris is a. Chris ain't no joke. Yo, you play around with Chris if you want to. What else? What else we got, Taylor? I just got some inspiration for a new book, too, Chris.
Chris Moreau
Okay, cool.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm gonna send you the one sheet. I actually did the one sheet yesterday. Dylan J. Alexander says, andrew, please don't grow a mustache again. You look like a gay Waluigi. What the fuck? Who's Waluigi?
Andrew Schultz
Waluigi is like the bad Luigi.
Heather Kai Walker
Oh.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, Mario. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Heather Kai Walker
You are giving like. Like like 18 year old hipster.
Charlamagne Tha God
I want y' all to know that nobody really know what gay look like.
Andrew Schultz
Saved by the belt.
Heather Kai Walker
What'd he say?
Charlamagne Tha God
Nobody knows what gay looks like. Yo, people always think they know what gay looks like.
Andrew Schultz
You don't think it's.
Charlamagne Tha God
We gotta find another word. Like, like.
Andrew Schultz
I know what it sounds like.
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying?
Andrew Schultz
Like, when he says sound to it,
Charlamagne Tha God
he said, you like a gay Waluigi. There's another word. Cause we don't know what gay looks like.
Chris Moreau
Wait, hold on.
Heather Kai Walker
Y' all never. Those videos of this guy going up to, like, strangers saying, like, hey, this guy.
Andrew Schultz
I think people would think you're gay or straight.
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah, that's just funny.
Andrew Schultz
I always think anybody's in a picture is gay.
Charlamagne Tha God
If it's one thing this industry has showed me, nobody knows who's really gay. There's some out there who are always projecting. And I know they done got their dick sucked from the back. Okay. By a man with a wig on. All right, okay. I'm just saying that can only be the only, like, explanation for.
Chris Moreau
You're saying they're hiding in plain sight?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes. Okay, like, why. That can be the only explanation as to why people are constantly pointing the finger at other people that they think are gay. Like, you're gay, you're gay, you're gay. Don't we say real recognize as real? So wouldn't gay recognize gay?
Chris Moreau
Oh, projecting.
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying?
Andrew Schultz
Wow.
Charlamagne Tha God
You think everybody's secretly gay because. Oh, just saying.
Heather Kai Walker
I already told you, my dad only said if a guy is, like, showing too much hatred towards homosexuals. That's not how you say it. Yeah, okay. Homosexuals, then. They're most likely not even.
Charlamagne Tha God
Just hatred acting like it's a problem. Like, weaponizing it. Like, oh, he's, you know, he's got to be gay. Gotta be gay.
Andrew Schultz
So what does it mean if you say lots of gay shit?
Chris Moreau
Not gay.
Andrew Schultz
Not gay. Because you're so comfortable in your masculinity. Oh, good. Yeah, that's what I've been trying to teach y'.
Charlamagne Tha God
All.
Andrew Schultz
Trying to teach y' all how to not be gay.
Charlamagne Tha God
I believe that. Are you gonna grow the mustache back?
Andrew Schultz
I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think you should, bro.
Heather Kai Walker
I think you should.
Andrew Schultz
Somebody stay clean for, like.
Charlamagne Tha God
You look like. You look almost innocent.
Heather Kai Walker
You look younger.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, everything about the mustache. I get what people were saying now.
Andrew Schultz
Everything.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I'm serious. Everything about the mustache made it look more sinister.
Andrew Schultz
Bro, that's not my fault. I can't grow hair on my cheeks. I only grow it here. Wow. Crazy. Where'd you guys go? No, I grow hair on those cheeks. That's the only cheeks I grow hair on.
Charlamagne Tha God
Of those underscore taps. Underscore says if your nut could. What? Prevent any illness you from any illness, would you drink it? Absolutely. Yeah, of course.
Andrew Schultz
Come on, you guys. You guys never tried your own nut?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I haven't, but, yes, I have.
Andrew Schultz
No, we haven't.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, the reality is, technically, yes, you have. You've probably tasted every other.
Andrew Schultz
How have we technically done it?
Charlamagne Tha God
Bodily fluid you produce. If your
Heather Kai Walker
wife is giving y', all, you know, and y' all kiss afterwards, kind of taste a little bit.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but there's, like, a break.
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah, but that isn't still crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
You would never let her do the me. What type of savage are you?
Andrew Schultz
Like, what the. What are you talking about?
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying. If you nut right in your wife's mouth and she tried to kiss you immediately after, like, yo, that's disrespect.
Andrew Schultz
You trying crazy. That's.
Charlamagne Tha God
You want to. You disrespected me.
Andrew Schultz
Now once it's out of you, it's gross. You know what I mean? Like when.
Charlamagne Tha God
Get this off.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Heather Kai Walker
Get out of here.
Charlamagne Tha God
Get it off. You a be.
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Why would you allow that to be on you? You're weird.
Charlamagne Tha God
By the way, men have probably tasted every bodily fluid we have.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why not?
Charlamagne Tha God
Sadly, you've probably swallowed some mucus down your throat.
Heather Kai Walker
He just swallowed his fart. He just farted.
Andrew Schultz
Who farted?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's not a bodily fluid, though.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but what about pee? When'd you taste pee?
Charlamagne Tha God
You tasted a little pee.
Andrew Schultz
I didn't fart. Taylor, what's going on with you?
Charlamagne Tha God
You've tasted a little bit.
Andrew Schultz
You never tasted lil pee?
Chris Moreau
No. They're guys who drink urine, know. They think it's actually very good for urine.
Charlamagne Tha God
See what I'm saying?
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
So imagine what nut can do. Y' all worried about G1P? What's that shit called?
Andrew Schultz
GLP1.
Charlamagne Tha God
GLP1. Y' all should be taking that fucking NLP1. Okay. Nut lick penis. Nut lick, penis. One tastes so good. What else we got? Hood Avenger. If the world ends tomorrow, would you be satisfied?
Andrew Schultz
What's wrong with you guys? Sometimes it's just so stupid. It's funny.
Charlamagne Tha God
If the world is tomorrow, would you be satisfied with how you lived your life?
Andrew Schultz
Hell, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Easily. Easy call. What are you talking about? 1 on every level I mean, that's nothing else to say. Let me see what else we got here?
Heather Kai Walker
What's the funniest thing rumor someone said about you, Shonda?
Charlamagne Tha God
Charlotte, what was the funniest thing rumor someone said about you this week? Sean, let me tell you something. You know me. Whoever know whoever. Whoever sent that knows me. I laughed out loud at some of this shit, but I'm not going to tell you which one it was. I might tell you after. Me and academics sitting down. Is everything set up for that, right, Alex? By the time y' all hear this, me and academics would have already sat down. I might tell y' all after that. But no, there was one that made me laugh. Laugh out loud. Cause it was so funny. Duval texted me today. Duvall said this was literally the day. Duvall said. He said, man, these niggas got you sounding like an evil mastermind.
Andrew Schultz
I am missing all this.
Charlamagne Tha God
What else we got? Taylor game. That's it. Let me give me. Let's end on one more. What else we got?
Andrew Schultz
Oh,
Charlamagne Tha God
what you think shows went in on that one?
Andrew Schultz
I don't really understand one single thing from affordability that America needs that can solve number one problem. What?
Chris Moreau
All right.
Andrew Schultz
What does that even mean?
Charlamagne Tha God
Give me one more. That's a little heady. Would you forget one of the happiest. Oh, this is a good one. Would you forget. Lucky you. Central said, would you forget one of the happiest times of your life to never forget anything else again? Nah, nah, nah, nah. Because every. When I. You say the happiest. Nah.
Andrew Schultz
Also, I say that now. If you get fucking dementia, you're gonna be more. You're gonna forget all that shit anyway.
Charlamagne Tha God
How you know you even got dementia?
Andrew Schultz
You eventually know.
Charlamagne Tha God
Know. Do you know?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, my dad knows.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, he knows. He got it?
Heather Kai Walker
Yeah. Really?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
How does that explain that? I didn't know.
Heather Kai Walker
Tell them and they just believe you?
Andrew Schultz
No, it's more just like. Like, he doesn't know it when he's repeating stuff, but he does know that there's something up. And he's like, ah, you know, you get old, you know, the body starts to fall apart.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, God.
Andrew Schultz
He has a very good attitude about. Some people have very, like, angry, negative attitude. They get, like, very embarrassed and flustered and, like, he's kind of got a very, like, almost like Buddhist accepting attitude. That's God. God bless.
Charlamagne Tha God
He's been diagnosed with dementia.
Andrew Schultz
Alzheimer's.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, Alzheimer's.
Andrew Schultz
See, non amyloid plaque Alzheimer's. Very peculiar form of it. Because Alzheimer is usually constituted by an Amyloid plaque buildup in the brain. So his is like, they don't. They're like, what the is this?
Charlamagne Tha God
But yeah, I would love to have a conversation with a doctor who knows a lot about this because I always wonder about that. Do people with Alzheimer's and dementia know they have Alzheimer's?
Heather Kai Walker
Is that accurate?
Andrew Schultz
Not everyone.
Heather Kai Walker
What's the actor's name? Willis. Yeah. You think? Think so. He knows.
Andrew Schultz
Some don't. Maybe some do. Like, you know, I think, you know,
Chris Moreau
as it's developing, I think once it really hits, you don't.
Andrew Schultz
But I'm curious, do you. There's also different iterations.
Chris Moreau
He's still in the city.
Andrew Schultz
Yep.
Chris Moreau
Do you think that's easier?
Andrew Schultz
In some ways it's easier to be in environments that you're familiar with because they're part of long term memory.
Chris Moreau
Got it.
Andrew Schultz
So usually with get like with my dad, what gets attacked is short term memory. So it's harder for him to like, stay, invest in a conversation or watch a story or a movie or these types of things. Things long term, he remembers the things because long term and short term memory are like different components in the brain. So what turns something from short term to long term is just repetition, right? So it's like knowing your neighborhood. This is long form. If you took him to a brand new neighborhood he'd never been before, all of a sudden that map doesn't really exist in his brain. And it would take so much repetition at this stage in order to bake it in. It might not get baked in at all. So that becomes more dangerous.
Chris Moreau
Does he drive?
Andrew Schultz
No, no, no.
Chris Moreau
That would be like a pro of living in New York is like. Because I know for a lot of people that's one of the biggest issues right off the bat is just driving. People are used to being independent through driving and getting around.
Charlamagne Tha God
What if people, like when you get to mention Alzheimer's, there's a certain like, look people have, right? Like they, they're quiet, they're reserved, they're to themselves. What if they're like that because they've. They're not aware of all of the noise anymore and all they remember is the happiest times of their life.
Andrew Schultz
I mean, you would hope that's the
Charlamagne Tha God
case because that would keep you at such peace, right? That would keep you so serene, right.
Andrew Schultz
I mean, the coolest thing my mom ever did for my dad, I don't even know if she realizes it, but like she had an 80th birthday for him that we threw here and he was with like all these people that he's known forever, right? Like, since he was young, since he had a memory. So, like, for one night, he was existing in long term memory. So for like, one night, he kind of had his memory back.
Charlamagne Tha God
Wow.
Andrew Schultz
And he, like, had conf. You know, he was just talking to people. He remembered kind of who they were. Like, he was just this amazingly charismatic, awesome guy. Long form, conversations might fall apart, but, like, in the moment, he's seeing all these people. Yeah. It was like this beautiful thing.
Chris Moreau
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Amazing, man.
Andrew Schultz
That's why you wouldn't take that offer. That sounds like a good offer. Yeah. Of course, if you just have to trade up one of your happiest memories, but then you know for certain you'll never forget something again. I'll take that offer.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know, bro, because at the end of the day, to the. To this conversation that we're having, all we have is our memories at the end of the day.
Chris Moreau
But you also don't know the happiest moments or the happiest memories when they're happening. Happening. Like last night, it's true. My daughter somehow got my phone and we all sat down and she, like, we basically watch videos, tape. My kids were, let's say, five to seven, you know, like 15 videos. And it was one of the best experiences of my life. All four of us sitting there just watching these moments together. It was incredible. But any one of those. If you had said to me, are these amazing moments? No, there's just recording regular shit, you know, over the course of their lives, them fighting over this, them dancing to a song, them going out to dinner with their grandparents, whatever. They were great moments. But I wouldn't have said, this is it. But when you saw them compiled, that's
Charlamagne Tha God
how I feel when you look at pictures and shit like that. Like, as I'm saying, man, I love all of my happiest times. Right. Like, even. And that's why when you live in the moment and you know that you're making memories at these, your kids and your family's gonna remember forever. Like, that's the best in the world. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I do. I just came back from Anguilla for 10 days again.
Chris Moreau
And when they're 30, they're gonna watch those videos.
Charlamagne Tha God
Come on, come on, come on, man. Like those. That is. That shit is priceless. It's priceless. All right, guys, we'll be back next week, man.
Andrew Schultz
Yes, sir.
Charlamagne Tha God
As always, if you listen to this podcast, you think we're smart, you think we're intelligent, you think we're brilliant. You're absolutely right. But if you listen to this podcast and think and think, we're just a couple idiots who don't know shit, you're right, too. It's the brilliant podcast. Thank you for listening.
In this rich and wide-ranging episode, Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Schulz return for another week of irreverent, funny, and sometimes oddly profound conversation, joined by Heather Kai Walker and recurring collaborator Chris Moreau. Titled "Can I Live It," the episode weaves through a medley of topics: summer vacations and the allure of island life, anticipation for Jay-Z's historic Reasonable Doubt concert at Yankee Stadium, impassioned debates about the Knicks’ long-awaited NBA championship, sports ownership, xenophobia in sports fandom, nuclear history, Alzheimer’s and memory, and, of course, raunchy but hilarious personal anecdotes. The hosts’ trademark banter runs throughout, blending idiocy and brilliance for loyal listeners and newcomers alike.

This episode is a tour de force in the Brilliant Idiots tradition, mixing pop culture, sports, city pride, money, and philosophy, all peppered with wild detours and one-liners. If you missed it, you’ll come away with a better sense of why the Knicks' win meant so much to New York, how nostalgia powers great art and sports, and why these hosts matter to their listeners: both for their honesty and their idiocy.
