Hey, guys, welcome back to the show. I'm Candy Valentino. Thanks for tuning in with me today. If you're new here, welcome. Glad to have you here to one of the best audiences in the world. We are obviously one of the top podcasts on entrepreneurship and business and finance, but we really have the best audience, best listeners, best sponsors. So if you are not new here, welcome back. Glad to have you back with us. Today we're doing something very special for our five minute motivation and I wanted to share something with you that if you follow me on social media, you probably already saw this, but it's something incredibly close to my heart. After writing three books on business and finance, I've ventured into a little bit of a new space. Something that's been a dream, something that's been on my heart for a while. But I just released my very first children's book. The title is Dream Big because Anything is Possible. And I am so humbled and grateful that it quickly became the number one new release on Amazon in all of its categories, the fastest that we've ever done it in all the books. So it's such a surreal moment for an author who I put 18 months into this book, finding the right illustrator, getting the story right. And it really embodies a message that's so important to me because I believe it's something that's vital for everyone, regardless of age, that it doesn't matter where you come from, it matters where you're going. And I wrote this book because I really believe that we have a responsibility to teach kids early as possible, to teach them many of what we didn't learn until later in life. That your background, your circumstances, your family, that they don't define who you are or who you can become, that you don't need to come from money or power or privilege to do something great. You just have to believe what's possible and take the first step, execute and research supports this message. Again, if you are an avid listener to the show, you know that I love all of the data, the stats and the research. And so of course, I didn't want to just write a children's book and make it super cute, colorful and impactful and powerful. I wanted to make sure we had research to back up what I wrote. So I looked at the data and found numerous studies that looked at how economic situations can divide kids and how children from low income families can still end up becoming wealthy, successful, happy, fulfilled, and really emphasize that our paths are not determined by our beginnings. And even another study from the Poverty and Inequality Research center found that resilience is what plays a crucial role in overcoming adversity. And study after study that I found shows that that resolve, the resilience that's built, are not only just associated with better health and success outcomes for children that face economic hardships, but it also shows that anyone can transcend their circumstance and achieve great things. Things. Because that muscle of resilience, that muscle of resolve that we build when we have difficult challenges, difficult times, when we come from a difficult circumstance or background or childhood, we realize that when we can overcome that, we can overcome anything. And that's why this book is so, so important to me. So if you are a parent, an aunt, an uncle, a mentor, this book's for you too. It's colorful, it's fun, but it's packed with real life inspiration that even adults need to hear. And so I want to share just a really quick excerpt from the book with you right now. It's not where we came from that matters, but where we are planning to go. It's not the things that others think, but all the things that we know. It's not the person we've been, but the one we'll become. It's not where we started that counts, but how far we have come. It's the dreams that we dream. It's the beliefs that we hold. It's the thoughts that we think. It's being courageous and bold. And that's when the boy vowed right there and right then that somewhere, somehow, no matter when, he'd live out his big dreams in those boldest of all, where his goals and ambitions would no longer be small. Ugh. I still get chills and tears reading that. This book is the first of a three part series and my hope is that Dream Big becomes a tradition in households all over the world that kids get to hear these life breath words spoken over them. And of course, if this message resonates with you and you want to be part of bringing up this next generation of dreamers and doers, please grab a copy on Amazon. I would be honored for you to grab a copy and to share it with a little one that needs to be reminded that regardless of our background, our circumstances, or our family, we never allow the family that we come from to destroy the family and the life that we want to create.
