Hello and good morning, good afternoon, good evening, Good middle of the night. Whenever you're listening, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you so much for being a listener of the CEO Teacher Podcast. And today we're going to talk about the idea of money. Teachers, you either love this or hate this. So you either want to keep listening or you want to turn it off. But I encourage you to stay tuned because it's not just me talking about this idea of money. It is a lot of our students that are going to be sharing some tips, some tricks, some insights on how they have gotten to that number, that number that somehow seems to baffle educators, which is $100,000 a year. But I want to really challenge you today to think beyond what we know to be true in this present moment. I am a teacher from Georgia originally, and I found out that when I went to college and I graduated, I could make about 32 to $35,000 a year. That's what I was told. The future of my reality was 32 to $35,000 a year, and I was gonna have the summers off, and I could make more money if I went back to college and I could plan for my future that way. But what if I told you that time isn't necessarily in the future or in the past? The only moment that we are guaranteed is right now, is this present moment. We have to stop living for what could be and start enjoying the process of what really is right now. So I graduated from school with the idea that once I got to where I needed to be, I would be happy. And unfortunately, I got to making that 32, $35,000 a year, which is what I thought I always wanted, honestly, was to have a regular lifestyle and to live just a basic life. There's nothing wrong with that. If that's what you want, I want you to know that that's totally fine, too. But when I got there to the future of my reality, I realized that I had been given this lie of some sorts, that that was all there was for me. But I want you to know, if you're listening today, that you are a teacher. Yes, but that is not all that you are. You are so much more than that. And whatever you want in this lifetime, you shouldn't be put in that box of the four walls of your classroom. You are really one of the most successful people in all of the world. Teachers make the world go round. Tell me one person that doesn't know a teacher that you know. I don't know any of them. We all have a connection to an educator. And it is time right here, right now for teachers to start making an impact like they've always wanted, but darn to start making the income that they deserve. So if you clicked on this episode and you said, yeah, okay, but I'm not really into this, but I guess I'll listen, you know, is that you are you the drama right now? And if it is, that's fine. I just want to give you some real life examples and to show you that it is true you can make $100,000 a year even if you're still in the classroom. You've heard me talk about that magic number before. And what if you heard other teachers talk about it too? On today's show, I'm going to take your fears, your worries, maybe even your failures. And I'm going to show you some remarkable CEO teacher trailblazers who have hit that $100,000 a year mark and have them pave the way to your path of making $100,000 or more online just by selling your resources or selling goods or creating a program like a course or a membership or no longer are you limited to just making money on teachers pay teachers. The sky is the limit for you this year, right here, right now, in the present. Not what you haven't done in the past or what you're going to do in the future, but right here, today. Maybe you've said some of these things to yourself before. Maybe you felt like an imposter. You're stuck in your own way of thinking I'm not good enough or I haven't even started yet or I'm way too far behind or only the top percent of people make money online. I got too much on my plate. You know, I'm still a full time teacher. I got too many kids. Tell me about it. I've been selling since 2012 and I've only made $40. This stuff doesn't work well. Each of these statements were once said by the amazing women that you're going to be hearing from today. Now I'm going to stop talking for just a second and give you the intro and then we'll get into their stories. So let's do this and I'll see you in today's show. Welcome to the CEO Teacher, where educators turn what they already know and into a successful and sustainable online business with actionable strategies, simple business tips and mindset shifts. It's a weekly lesson plan for teacher business owners. Whether you're teaching full time in the classroom or rocking the Small business from home life. I'm your host, Casey Morris, a former Georgia English teacher, mom at a four turned seven figure online teacher, business owner and founder of the CEO teacher movement. Three teaching degrees got me a few extra bucks each year. But what I will show you will help you make that every single month. If you have a heart for education and a passion to use your experience to help more teachers and families, you belong here. Now, I've shared this story briefly before, but in case you haven't heard it, I wanted to tell it to you one more time. And it all goes back to desire. Napoleon Hill, in the book Think and Grow rich from the 1930s, says that the number one thing every person in the world needs to be successful or to make the money they've always dreamed of is desire. So all I need to know from you today is, do you want to make more money than what they told you you were supposed to make when you graduated from college? So I first started thinking about my desire back in 2013, which seems like forever ago, but I want to tell you about a catalyst for me that was like, holy smokes, I can do this. So I was looking on teachers, pay teachers. I was buying resources for my students because I was struggling through depression and I wanted another teacher to do the work for me. Okay? So I bought lesson plans and I started teaching them in my classroom. And then I decided, you know, I think I can do that too. And that little bit of desire is what led me down this crazy, insane rabbit hole, wondering, is this really possible? I found an interview from the very first millionaire that sold resources on teachers, pay teachers. Now, it's amazing. Cause in 2022, you don't have to just sell on TPT if you don't want to. But I found a story about a lady that made a million dollars selling her teaching resources on teachers, paid teachers. And y', all, I was hooked. I was insanely obsessed with this woman. I followed her on every social platform. I read about her. I watched a video. I started watching that video, like every single day. Okay? Like every single day. I watched this interview. I think it was on like 2020 or something. It was a big time interview. And I started asking myself the question, why not me? Why can't I do this? Is she the only person that can do that? I want to be inspired by her, and I want to see if I can make this a reality for myself. And little did I know I would be able to do that. But not only that, is that I would be able to create a program and a service that would give that gift to hundreds and thousands of other teachers. Our teachers are now making over $100,000. Like what? Are you serious? Three years ago, I started selling a course that's now a membership you may have heard of called the CEO Teacher. And inside of that program, our teachers are making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Yes, we did it. So remember that you don't have to look at what has gone wrong in the past. I just want you to know that in the present moment, right here, right now, teachers like you who are still teaching full time are making the money they've always dreamed of. Now, happiness does not revol around money. Okay, let's get real here for just a second. That's why we teach about health and wealth and finances and all of those things. But I thought it would be good for some of these amazing women to check in and tell you what's changed in their mindset since they started their journey and what's changed to where they are today. And I also asked them to give you a really quick tip and a business piece of advice that could help guide you if you're ready to start living for this moment today. Now, we only open our programs twice a year and I'm sorry, but they're not open right now. I don't want to, I don't want you to always think I'm trying to sell to you because I want you to just see and feel the possibility and understand that I need you for you to have the desire first to feel like you can do this. And when the time's ready, yes, I want you to start joining us in our programs. But I just want you to feel that feel good feeling of I can do this and I can hear this playbook written about other people that lets me know that I am ready to become the next CEO teacher Trailblazer. Today you're going to be hearing from Christy Deroche, Mary Gallagher, Stephanie Nash, Lori Franzine and Tara Tuchel. I cannot wait for you to hear their tips, tricks and advice. And if you're interested in knowing a little bit more about these women and if they're real people, you can click on their websites in the show notes below. But I can't wait for you to hear it. I'm going to stop talking. Don't forget to tune in after you get done to listen to what question is going to be answered on today's show.
Christy Deroche
Hey teachers. My name is Christy from Christy Deroch Digitals and I am a full time 5th grade teacher, mom and wife in South Louisiana my mindset has not always been what it is now, although I have been selling my resources online for quite some time. Not long ago I suffered from imposter syndrome, wondering who would want to buy from me. It wasn't long into my switch to a business journey that my CEO teacher community began reminding me that I could do it if I got out of my own way and started focusing on me and not what everyone else was doing. Selling my resources has absolutely changed my life and I know it can change yours too. If you're beginning to take your business seriously, my advice to you would be to not compare yourself to other teacher sellers. Compare yourself to who you were at the beginning of your journey and constantly focus on your growth. When you stay focused on yourself and where you want to go, the rest will fall into place Hi, my name.
Mary Gallagher
Is Mary Gallagher and my business has two parts. There's Amazing Day Academy where I do life coaching and writing classes for youth and teens. And then there is my adult life and business coaching practice where I work with women on creating their inspired life vision. My best tip for someone just getting started is to be okay with starting small. Don't Compare your day one to someone else's year 10. It's okay to start small and have it be messy. The important part is that you are starting, which takes so much courage. My mindset as a business owner is constantly evolving and lately I'm really focusing on how to use all of what happens, the good, the bad and the ugly for my learning, growth and upliftment. So when a launch doesn't go as I had hoped or some other snafu happens, I'm asking myself, what can I learn from this? How is this happening for me? That's been a game changer for me lately. Thank you Casey and team for lighting the way of what's possible. I couldn't have done this without you.
Stephanie Nash
My name is Stephanie Nash and I'm the CEO teacher behind A Touch of Class Teaching and I help teachers get their classrooms organized and systematized and really just transformed into a cozy home away from home using my classroom decor and more collections. My mindset has changed dramatically since starting my business. I'll admit I think I was probably living on one end of my little spectrum analogy. I was definitely on like the dream world side. I knew everything that was possible. I knew I could reach my goals. I was super confident about it and you know, I would have little moments where I would go and work hard on my goals, but I had no idea what I should really be doing to make my business see the growth that I knew was possible. I had no routine set in place for myself because I didn't know what kind of routines to make. So that's why joining the CEO teacher community has just, I mean, it's changed everything for me. Through the programs I'm given, the tools I need to nurture both sides. The friends I've made have become such a support system. You know, we produce what it is we keep in front of us. So like the audiobooks that Casey always suggests, all the encouragement that's given from her and her team and really from everybody, like in the Facebook group, it just keeps me focused on what I need to focus on to ensure my mindset is where it needs to be. But then of course, the lessons inside the CEO teacher school and the academy have been so invaluable to help me grow the others side of my business. And you know, really to show me like, show me the way of the business world. Because I had no idea, but now I do. I have a plan. I have routines set up around that plan to ensure that I continue to grow and scale my business and just really make this something that's sustainable for me and my family. If I could offer a business tip to someone just getting started, it would be to play both ends to the middle. And what I mean by that is if you think of your business as just a straight line on one end, you're going to prioritize like your mindset, your vibe, your confidence in yourself, everything that really you believe to be true for yourself and your business. And then on the other end you place your hard work. And this includes all the systems, all the routines that you really need to set in place for your business so you can ensure that you get all the work done. So this is like the work side of your business. So something I've noticed is that people starting businesses, especially teacher businesses, they either kind of dwell at one end of the spectrum or the other. You know, they're either super confident in themselves and they believe they can do anything. They listen to all the audiobooks that motivate them. They have wonderful support systems, they don't let anyone ever get them down. But they have no systems in place to actually put in the work. And they kind of live in that dream world. They aren't doing the right things that they need to get done to reach their goals. But then you also have the people who are, they're working like crazy. They have all the routines down, they're super Organized. They're just working non stop to get things done. They're pumping out products like crazy, but their mindset is off. So when they don't see overnight success or, you know, maybe they have some mean girls reaching out to them or they get negative feedback, they just give up. So when I say play both ends to the middle, I just mean that it's so important to focus on both of those things and really nurture them and work on them and eventually you're gonna reach the middle. And that's where your goals are and that's the goals that you set for yourself. So that is my advice. Just kind of, you know, keep in mind there's two ends to the spectrum. You gotta take care of your mindset, but you also have to put in the hard work. And if you can play both ends, eventually you will reach the middle.
Tara Tuchel
Hi, I'm Tara with Autism little Learners and a business tip that I have for someone just getting started is to find someone that has gone before you who can show you the ropes. Finding a coach, someone to guide you along the way and show you all of the best practices and all the little things that you might not know. Getting started will save you a lot of hassle and grief later. I wish I would have had someone right from the start. And so I think that's my biggest tip, is to find someone to coach you. My mindset has really changed throughout the past almost three years. Changed from small goals, lots of small goals, to now dreaming really, really big and believing in abundance and believing that all the things that you dream of are possible and growing and expanding your business and just everything that goes along with that. Man, I didn't know before how much a mindset shift towards abundance could really, really help me personally and my business. So I think those are a couple little tips I have and all the best to you and your business, whether you're just beginning or you've started and are continuing on.
Christy Deroche
Hey there.
Laurie Friesen
This is Dr. Laurie Friesen. I'm host of the Beginning Teacher Talk podcast and creator of the Ready for School Academy. And I think the biggest tip I have for anybody who's just getting started in their teacher business is to literally do things before you feel like you're ready for them. Just do it scared. Because the reality is it's probably never going to get easier and you're never, probably going to feel completely ready to do the things, the big scary things that you want to do in this world so you can make the impact you want to make. And so you can have the life, life you've always dreamed of living. I think one of the things that has really helped me to move the needle in my business in only my second year is not holding back and literally continually experimenting. Have I failed? Of course. But I've really honestly learned that every failure takes me one step forward towards figuring it out. And I've learned to reframe what I used to think of as failure, as learning. So even when I, quote, fail at something, I know what not to do the next time. So my big advice and my hope for anyone who's getting started out in their teacher business is just putting your blinders on, caring less about what other people think or what other people might say and just owning your big, bold, beautiful energy, letting yourself shine and be who you were meant to be.
Kasey Morris
All right, Nicole, thank you so much for your review on the CEO Teacher podcast, and I wanted to dive into your question. She says, how do I start writing emails for my business? I know you preach the importance of an email list, but I don't know what to say. Do you have templates that we can get started with? I'm one of those horrible people that sends all of my email signups to a Gmail account that I only open to get a freebie. I never check that email because I don't have time to read a hundred emails a day. So please help me send my first few emails. Great question. You know, it's one of those things that those that get it, get it and those that don't, don't. And it's hard to really put into words how important it is to start writing your emails today. The problem with fear is that we talk ourselves into not wanting to do something right. We are like, I don't know if I can do this. I'm not a good writer, I don't know what to say and blah, blah, blah. But you just got to do it. You just have to put it on the books and get it done. Now she asked about templates, and yes, we give templates to our students inside of both of our programs. They are tiered towards their level. So level one students get emails that are geared towards selling on teachers, pay teachers, While our Level 2 students get emails and copy that's geared more towards selling a program or a service. But if you're not in our programs and you're just curious about how to get started on writing your email, you can download our free opt in Casey morris.com email and inside of that amazing booklet, all you have to do is Read it, print it out and just kind of learn about the connection first sales strategy that we love. And as your email list grows, you might find yourself wondering, you know, what to send all of these people like you said and what they want to here. And that's where this, this teacher strategy comes from. So first it starts with a traffic source. So you have to remember, where are these people getting on my list? So are they finding you through your TPT store? Which bummer, you really can't capture their email address that way, but hopefully that'll lead them to your social media. Maybe you got a podcast or a blog or you've got any type of video and you can grab their email addresses there. And once they're on your list and it's time to start, start sending them emails. Nicole, a great idea is to offer them something for free. Now of course, if you haven't heard me say this before, I am not talking about free resources on teachers pay teachers. No, I'm talking about something of insane value that'll help them in their classroom known as a lead magnet or an opt in. And then you will start delivering those emails. And I recommend if you're just getting started sending out three specific emails. But now on to but what the heck do I talk about? So email number one is for you just to deliver that free resource that I suggested. So I want you to give them something for free. And we're building of course that know like and trust factor. Email number two is to really make sure that they know that you're here to support them. So you need to check on them. You need to say, hey, did you grab this? Is there anything we can talk about? You want to start a conversation, you want to encourage them to hit reply so that you can build again that know like and trust. And then email number three is if you're ready to sell something to them at that point you can. Although I don't love that idea either. I'm all about building the know like and trust and really finding people that are your people that are going to be around for a lifetime. I'm not about easy quick sales anymore, but some marketers are into that. So if you want to make money quick, then yeah, I recommend that you try to sell to them on email number three and give them like a promo code or give them a discount. That way they don't feel like, oh man, they I just got something and now they want it. They want me to pay them. If you're giving them a discount, they may be more encouraged to buy from you. But if you're thinking about what the heck do I say, Just focus on delivery, delivering your opt in, making sure that they know you're here to support them. And then if you are ready for it, begin to sell. So Nicole, thank you for your review. It meant a lot to me. And thank you so much for being a listener of the CEO Teacher Podcast.
